This CHEAP fix is abhorrent! It calls for welding an adjustable part of the steering linkage rendering it non- adjustable when having the front end aligned in the future. Not to mention the effect of welding, potentially causing a problem with the integrity of the metal. The correct fix for this SAFETY issue is to REPLACE this steering linkage component, the entire Drag Link! NOT do a "back yard, shade tree mechanic" weld job on the steering linkage of all things! I am appalled that NHTSA approved such a thing. PLEASE revisit this issue and do the right thing. Require Chrysler (FCA US LLC) to REPLACE this defective part with the proper part. Note.... Chrysler is not welding the nuts on the drag links on trucks coming off the assembly line! They are coming off with proper, safe, adjustable drag links! I contacted FCA and they said they cannot redo the recall because it's out of the window to get it repaired again. This is not a safe fix. The recall says after this welding, the vehicle can still get a proper alignment from dealer, which is not true. I contacted the dealer and they said I should contact FCA, but that sent me back to my original issue. I can't get an alignment even though the recall fix says I can. I dealer refuses to do it. I bought this truck used from the dealer and they wouldn't fix it at the time either. I pull a fifth wheel trailer with my truck and I need an alignment. This recall weld fix is just not right, a cheap fix for a long-term problem and very unsafe. Please help and please point me in the right direction. Thank you
My 2017 Ram 2500, 6.4L Hemi experiences warning lights which I'm told is caused by intermittent PCM failure. I'm told this can cause the truck to stall while in motion, refuse to start, or enter "limp mode". This amounts to a possible unsafe condition that can put myself and passengers at risk of property damage, bodily injury or worse. I brought the truck to Priority Automotive of Westerly, LLC on March 9, 2026 for diagnosis. Their diagnosis (attached) recommended replacing the PCM to correct (possibly), "...intermittent internal short(s)". Cost of the repair is $2,012.42. Subsequently, I contacted customer care at Stellantis (866-726-4636) and was given Case #[XXX]. I was told to make an appointment at the aforementioned dealership and call them the day before the appointment, so they could send a representative to the dealership for examination. I did exactly that to no avail. No one from Stellantis even contacted the dealership on the appointment date. I called them to find out what happened, only to find out (from a supervisor) that they are not offering assistance in the matter. Additionally, the truck is currently under recall #C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 (PCM related) and, to-date, I'm told the part is still not available after more than a year since the recall. I've owned Dodge Rams for over 27 years and find the situation unsafe and totally unacceptable. I'm also aware that many other owners of the 2017 Ram 2500 6.4L experience PCM/ECM issues, causing no-start conditions or stalling, and have reported them alongside braking system complaints. ABS service light and traction control light keeps coming on. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer only to have the code erased and sent on my way because there is no remedy for this recall. This is unacceptable as a safety recall. Im tired of the light and the dinging coming on constantly plus loosing my abs/ traction control. Mopar needs to do better before someone gets killed!!!

I can forward the receipt from the dealership, but it’s not letting me upload it on this page.
Hello, I received a recall notice "C7B" from FCA. Checking with my dodge dealer they said it has been completed. Problem is I never had this done. FYI, I have had past problems with this break system and it had been replaced I think 3 time, but no recall had been issued before all this. Anyway I contacted FCA and they now have given me the updated recall notice called C4B with no resolution or repairs and referred me to arbitration.

No heat on drivers side due to clogged heater core
At 31,000 mile my horn is no longer working along with my steering wheel controls on the left side of the wheel. Upon researching online it seems these truck have a common issue with clock spring fail. This is concerning because not only does the clock spring provide power to the horn and steering wheel controls, it could also effect the airbag function.

HCU issue. My traction control light is on and dealer said some of the 2017 rams were covered but not mine. I looked it up and there was a recall for the HCU’s
I am writing to formally demand that Stellantis replace the drag link assembly on my 2017 Ram 2500 at no cost to me. The welding performed during Safety Recall V06 in 2019 has rendered my vehicle unable to receive proper wheel alignment, creating an ongoing safety issue and causing premature tire wear. Background In 2019, my vehicle was brought to dealer to have Safety Recall V06 performed. The recall procedure involved welding the jam nuts to the adjuster sleeve on the drag link. I was not informed at the time that this welding would permanently prevent future alignment adjustments to the drag link. Approximately three months ago, I purchased new tires for my vehicle. When I took my truck to have a wheel alignment performed, I was informed that the alignment cannot be completed because the drag link jam nuts are welded and cannot be adjusted. The alignment is significantly out of specification, causing uneven tire wear and compromised vehicle handling. Current Situation I contacted Hendricks Ram in Cary NC regarding this issue. The dealership has confirmed that: 1.My vehicle cannot be properly aligned due to the welded drag link 2.Ram/Stellantis is refusing to break the welds and replace with the new adjustable drag link kit 3.I am being asked to pay approximately $2,000 out of pocket to correct a problem that was directly caused by Stellantis's recall repair Legal and Regulatory Basis for This Demand October 2023 TSB Update: Stellantis issued revised Technical Service Bulletin instructions for Recall V06 in October 2023 (RCRIT-19V021-0837). This TSB provides that vehicles should be inspected and, depending on conditions found, either have the nuts permanently welded OR the drag link replaced. My vehicle's alignment is out of specification and cannot be corrected—this clearly qualifies for drag link replacement under the revised procedures.

1. Failure to Address a Safety Recall Promptly When scheduling the appointment, I informed the dealership of an open safety recall (Recall V06, NHTSA 19V-021) involving the steering linkage jam nut (a defect which can cause loss of steering control). This recall is critical for safety, yet I was told on the phone that the dealership “could not work on it yet” due to unspecified changes being made by the manufacturer. Upon arrival, I asked again about this recall. The service advisor stated it would require a separate appointment with a “special mechanic” and thus declined to even inspect the vehicle that day. This is extremely disheartening – a known safety defect (announced in January 2019) remains unaddressed on my truck almost seven years later, and the dealership made no effort to expedite or even evaluate the need for repair. As a loyal Dodge customer, I am very concerned that an authorized dealer would postpone a safety recall inspection, leaving me driving a potentially unsafe vehicle. Safety recalls should be handled with urgency, and I urge Dodge to ensure that this recall (V06) is rectified on my truck immediately. It is unacceptable that I must continue driving with a defect that “can result in a loss of steering control… causing a crash without warning,” according to the recall description I found on your site.

Additionally, during the failure the cruise control feature was inoperable. The failure mileage was 174,000.
This is in regards to Recall #C4B for the ABS/HCU failure on my 2017 RAM. This recall was issued over a year ago in November of 2024, but Stellantis has yet to DO ANYTHING and can't even tell us when a remedy will be available. I have asked my local dealership and get the same answer, NOTHING!!! The parts must be available, because the dealership told me that I could purchase the part from them and pay them to install it. But, I would have to then wait to get reimbursed from Stellantis once the recall is "remedied". Two problems with this; 1) I don't have the $1500+ to spend on this, and 2) I don't trust them to ever pay me back! But, this does tell me that they have the parts. Plus, they have no trouble making and selling new vehicles with parts that don't have this safety failure. Can you make them prioritize this recall and take car of the thousands of RAM trucks with this safety issue. BTW, last month my brother-in-law was driving my truck on I-25 through Denver, CO. He hit an icy spot and lost traction causing him to go into a 360 spin. God was looking over him because he did hit anything or anyone. THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD HAVE BEEN WORKING. STELLANTIS CAME VERY CLOSE TO BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS DEATH!!!
The abs braking system failed and the truck was put in an uncontrolled skid where the brakes completely locked up and crashed into another car. The cause severe damage to 2 cars. I reported it to the dealership and they don't have a fix for it. There were no warning lamps prior to the collision and none are up now.
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS, traction control, and cruise control functions unexpectedly deactivated, and the ESC, ABS, and HCU warning lights were illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to complete the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
ABS Module and or HCU finally quit working. Loss of cruise control, ESC (traction control), 4x4 and speed sensor not registering. Had now storm around the 1st of December and got stuck on road in front of house due to loss of traction control and 4x4 not engaging. Dealer had said 4x4 was working when they informed me the ABS module needed replacement. It currently at a private diesel repair shop and they confirmed the ABS module needs replacement. Currently awaiting a ship and repair service to see if the module will work and fix the loss of above. There were two warning lamps on the dash lit up. The ABS and Traction Control light. I am hoping that all I need is the module repaired and that I don’t need the HCU replaced. This is super frustrating because there is a recall on the parts but the dealer and the company are in no hurry to find a remedy for the issue.
The contact's husband owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The ABS and "BRAKE" warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact stated that due to the brake warning light being illuminated, the vehicle would not be able to pass an upcoming State Inspection. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
My truck will lose all throttle response and brakes harder to stop accompanied by a service electronic brake system, service electronic throttle control, and electronic traction control warning. It only happens intermittently and sometimes will go a few weeks before doing it again. (The date below for incident is latest date it happened)
Odometer Fraud. The contact attempted to purchase a 2017 RAM 2500. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 116,493, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 113,000.
NHTSA Recall Number24V-896- HCU unit replaced once. Replacement unit has now fully failed. Dealer Dutch Miller Ram of South Charleston made positive diagnosis of failed unit [see attached]. Same dealer notes NC replacement HCU part is not available. Same dealer notes however for a charge of @$1100 Stellantis has replacement units available for installation with a part # separated from remedy part by a single digit. The warning chime causes distracted driving as warning light and chimes occur persistently intermittently. This unpredictability requires driver eyes and attention to confirm cause of warning! Recall letter received early January of 2025!

It is a known issue that 2017 ram 2500 diesels experience turbo or actuator failures at low mileage costing upwards of 8-10000 dollars in repairs. My ram only has 61000 miles and due to exhaust fluid requirements etc, premature failure is common. Owners should be able to extend the warranty to 15 years as Chrysler has known this issue and has failed to address it. The code is in the attached screenshot.
As I approached stop sign and applied brakes the ABS and traction control light came on. My truck then started surging up and down As I attempted to proceed thru the red light my truck stalled and shutoff an on coming car had to stop aggressively to avoid hitting me

The check engine light came on and I took the vehicle to the Ram service center. The tech said the turbo actuator caused the light to go on. He reset the computer and said to bring the vehicle back if it comes on again. About 1 month later it reappeared. The Ram service said the turbo charger actuator needed replacing (the complete turbocharger). They said the failure could result in a total loss of power or engine failure. I tow a 10,000 lb trailer and an engine failure on the road could result in an accident or injury due to no power from the engine. The part can be viewed for inspection.

2017 Ram 2500 Laramie Crew Cab , 4x4, 6.7 Liter Cummings A/T. Receiving a “Service Electronic Brake System Soon” warning light intermittent after start up since at least since June 2025. Code reader advises to replace “HCU” Hydraulic Control Unit, ABS Module. My vehicle was produced 03/2017, however the ram recall is from vehicles produced from April 2017. Seems they are excluding other production vehicles for the recall replacement of the improved ABS HCU Module.

I got a p2609 code when the check engine light came on. After researching the code it has been determined it is the bolt holding the grid heater in place has deteriorated and now my engine needs to be dismantled to repair the problem. These repairs are roughly $3000.00. Ram has been aware of this problem in their vehicles since 2007 models and it is still a problem they are not being held responsible for.
