The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired on two occasions under warranty and under extended warranty due to the brake failure. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the ABS and the traction control warning lights were illuminated, along with a dinging sound. The contact stated that the warning lights had caused the 4WD and cruise control modes to become inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated that while her husband was driving 65 MPH, a deer jumped in front of the vehicle. The driver depressed the brake pedal, but the brakes locked up, and the vehicle failed to stop in time and hit the deer. The air bags did not deploy. There was no injury sustained. The driver's side fender, the bumpers and brackets, and the headlights were damaged. The driver taped up the damaged parts and was able to drive away from the scene. The vehicle was taken to an auto collision repair shop, where it was repaired for the damage sustained during the incident. No police report was filed. LaFontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fenton (16555 Silver Pkwy, Fenton, MI 48430) was contacted and confirmed that the recall part was unavailable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for brake failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,135.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 RAM 2500. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOHNSON DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (481 US-46, BUDD LAKE, NJ 07828, (908) 850-8700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED NEW TIRES. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY DID NOT IDLE AND THE RPMS RACED UP AND DOWN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIBRATION WAS BECOMING WORSE. THE CONTACT PURCHASED NEW TIRES, BUT THE VIBRATION FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE SHOP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL WAS WOBBLING AND ALL FOUR RIMS WERE BENT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SOME OF THE TIRES WERE REBALANCED, BUT NOT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE DUE TO THE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
VEHICLE WAS TAKE TO DEALERSHIP FOR MANUFACTURE'S RECALL OF THE PASSENGERS SEAT MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATED. BEFORE TAKING VEHICLE FOR THE SERVICE, ALL SEATS ALARM WHEN PASSENGER/S FAILED TO BUCKLE THEIR SAFETY RESTRAINTS, AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE NONE OF THE SEAT WARNED DRIVER OF UNBUCKLED PASSENGER. RETURNED THE VEHICLE AND REPORTED FAULT, THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH THE ALARMING SYSTEM AND I WOULD NOT BE ALERTED OF BUCKLING FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

THE DEALER PERFORMED A REPROGRAM UPDATE, WHICH CAUSED THE SEAT BELT ALERT NOT TO FUNCTION WHEN THEY WERE UNBUCKLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED AGAIN. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SEAT BELT ALERT WOULD NOT OPERATE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE NEVER HAD A SEAT BELT ALERT FEATURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND HE WAS WONDERING IF OTHER SAFETY COMPONENTS WOULD MALFUNCTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED WHAT THE DEALER STATED. WATER PUMP, TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY REPLACED WATER PUMP BUT NO DUST DISTURBED ON ENGINE WHEN POPPED THE HOOD TO LOOK INSIDE THE HOOD WHEN I PICKED UP THE TRUCK AFTER GETTING THE RECALL REPAIR

THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS CONSERVED IT MAY CAUSE A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN MULTIPLE TIMES TO LOCAL DEALER BOSAK MOTORS (3111 W LINCOLN HWY, MERRILLVILLE, IN 46410: (219) 682-0497) AND WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED HE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 RAM 2500 EQUIPPED WITH FIRESTONE TRANSFORCE AT TIRES, SIZE: 285/60/R20 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE FILLED OVER THE REQUIRED 80 PSI MAXIMUM. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE TIRE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRES COULD BLOW OUT AT ANY TIME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SAN ANTONIO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (11910 INTERSTATE 35 FRONTAGE RD, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78233, (210) 702-2220) AND THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY INSPECTED THE TIRES AND FOUND THAT THEY WERE OVER PRESSURIZED. THE DEALER ROTATED THE TIRES. AFTER A ROAD TRIP WHERE THE VEHICLE HAULED A 7,000 LB RV, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THE TIRES IN POOR CONDITION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO INSPECT THE TIRES UPON THE CONTACT'S RETURN. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE TIRES AND FOUND NO FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
MY ABS TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY PRIOR TO 36,000 MILES. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. WITH 42,600 MILES LIGHTS HAVE COME ON AND SET A CODE. RAM HAS SAID THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. A COMPUTER HAS FAILED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY RAM. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM IN THESE TRUCKS OR IF FAULTY PARTS WERE PLACED ON MINE. I WANT THIS ISSUE DULY NOTED. THE FAILED PARTS ARE THE ABS MODULE AND THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. RAM HAS TOLD ME THAT THIS IS MY PROBLEM WHEN IT IS IN FACT THEIR PROBLEM WHICH THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF.

EXCESSIVE PLAY IN DRIVE LINE CAUSES LOUD BANG IN REAR END AND NOISE AT TAIL SHAFT OF TRANS DURING ACCELERATION AND DECELARATION. CAUSES A DELAY IN MOVEMENT . DEALER SAUS ITS NORMAL. THIS IS NOT NORMAL AS IT WILL CAUSE A FAILIRE IN THE REAR END, TRANS OR EVEN U JOINT. THIS IS MY THIRD TRUCK SAME MAKE AND MODEL, OLDER YEARS AND NONE OF THE OTHERS HAVE THIS ISSUE.

A LOUD NOISE FROM UNDER AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS GENERATED WHEN SHIFTING FROM LOW TO HIGH GEAR. WHEN IN HIGH TRAFFIC, TURNING RIGHT AND LEFT, AND HAULING MODE. THE NOISE GENERATED SOUND COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION OR WITHIN THE UNDERSIDE AS THE VEHICLE SHIFTS. HAVE MADE VISUAL INSPECTION WITH NO EVIDENCE OF RUBBING OR LOSE CABLE, TIRE TO FINDER, OR LOSE SHAFT WEAR.
WHILE TOWING, RUBBER SECTION OF FAN SHROUD CAME INTO CONTACT WITH FAN SENDING MATERIAL INTO RADIATOR. THIS CAUSED CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE AND LOSS OF COOLANT WHILE TOWING ON HIGHWAY IN HIGH TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. COOLANT LOSS TRIGGERED MULTIPLE ALARM/WARNINGS REQUIRING URGENT ENGINE SHUTDOWN. AFTER STOPPING VEHICHLE APPEARED TO HAVE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE STEAM FROM COOLANT. BUT ENGINE TEMPS RAPIDLY INCREASED. TRUCK MILEAGE 35,893, FIRST TIME TOWING AFTER WATER PUMP RECALL HAD BEEN COMPLETED.
FRONT TRACK BAR BUSHINGS ARE WORE OUT AFTER LESS THAN 45000 MILES. THE FRONT END MAKES A NOISE AND SHAKES WHEN YOU TURN THE WHEEL. THIS HAPPENS BOTH STOPPED AND AT ANY SPEED.
REAR RAIL GATE OPENS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. 3RD TIME I HAVE HAD TRUCK INTO DEALER FOR THIS. THEY TELL ME THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS AND NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE SO THEY CAN'T FIX IT.
VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE AND MECHANIC INFORMED ME OF FRONT TIRES ARE CUPPING SIGNIFICANTLY. THEY INFORMED ME THIS IS NOT NEW FOR A NEW TRUCK. TOOK THE TRUCK TO DODGE THEY TOLD ME IT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL IF YOU DON'T ROTATE TIRES ENOUGH. THIS IS VERY INCONSISTENT. I DID ROTATE TIRES BUT WITHIN 5000 MILE PROBLEM. REPRESENTS ITSELF AND TIRES HAVE TO BE REBALANCE TO OFF SET UNEVEN WEAR.
VEHICLE SHUTTERS AND PAUSES WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. VEHICLE HAS HESITATED DURING LOW SPEED TURNS LEAVING A PULSING SENSATION, ENGINE CUTTING OUT. STRONG ODOR OF COOLANT COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AFTER DEIVING.
WHEN IN MOTION, THE TRUCK WILL SUDDENLY BREAK INTO A VIOLENT "DEATH WOBBLE". IT HAS OCCURRED AT SPEEDS ANYWHERE BETWEEN 40 AND 75 AND NOT ALWAYS WHEN A SLIGHT BUMP IN THE ROAD IT HIT.
AT SPEEDS RANGING FROM 65-75MPH WHILE ON ANY HWY OR INTERSTATE THERE IS A SLIGHT VIBRATION IN THE FLOOR BOARD. I PURCHASED 4 MICHELEN DEFENDER LTX MS TIRES BECAUSE THE DEALER TOLD ME MY TIRES WERE OUT OF ROUND. AFTER I PICKED IT UP, IT STILL DID IT. MY TRUCK OCCASIONALY TELLS ME 4 WHEEL DRIVE SHIFT IN PROGRESS WHILE I'M DRIVING. THE DEALER IN PORT AURTHOR DID AN ALIGNMENT AND INSPECTED THE SUSPENSION BUT CAME UP WITH NO SOLUTION.
FRONT SUSPENSION, SPECIFICALLY STEERING SYSTEM GOES INTO A SEVERE WOBBLE OR SHIMMY WHEN A DIP OR POTHOLE IS DRIVEN OVER. THE SIDE TO SIDE WOBBLE IS SO SEVERE YOU HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE OR NEAR COMPLETE STOP TO GET THE TRUCK TO COME OUT OF IT. I'VE HAD IT TO THE DODGE DEALER TWICE AND A LOCAL SUSPENSION/ALIGNMENT SHOP AND THEY CANNOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM. LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT'S BEEN DESCRIBED MULTIPLE TIMES AS THE DODGE RAM "DEATH WOBBLE".

Since I have purchased the truck over 8 wheel studs have broken off. Most broken off at different tire shops while removing the bolt. Others have fallen off while driving. This is supper unsafe and need to be a recall due to safety.
WIRE PINCHED BETWEEN SPARE TIRE AND BODY WAS SHORTED OUT AND CAUGHT THE SPARE TIRE ON FIRE. TRUCK HAD BEEN PARKED FOR OVER 7 HOURS. WAS TOLD ALL WIRES LEADING TO THE BACK ARE ON FUSES AND SHOULD HAVE BROKEN THE CIRCUIT BEFORE A FIRE BEGAN. *CW *TT CONSUMER STATED THAT THE OWNER REPORTED A FIRE AT REAR OF VEHICLE IN SPARE TIRE AREA AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A BODY SHOP. BODY SHOP STATES A WIRE WAS PINCHED BY THE SPARE TIRE AND CAUSED THE FIRE. UPDATED 9/20/18*JB
WITH CRUISE SET AT 75 MPH, SPEED WOULD DECREASE TO AROUND 71MPH, THEN UNEXPECTEDLY AND RAPIDLY INCREASE TO 75. THIS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY AND I STOPPED USING IT FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS. I TRIED IT ON RETURN TRIP AND IT WORKED FINE. *TT *TR
MY RAM 2500 DIESEL WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY WITH PERIODIC STOP LIGHTS WHEN I PUSHED HEAVILY ON THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE WHILE PULLING A 13,000 LB TRAILER. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS, THE ENGINE STAYED IN FULL ACCELERATION MODE. FULL BRAKING WAS NOT SLOWING THE VEHICLE MUCH AND IT LOOKED LIKE WE WERE GOING TO COLLIDE IN TO VEHICLES AHEAD OF US. I SHIFTED IN TO NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE RACED AT HIGH RPM, BUT I WAS THEN ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND AVOID THE VEHICLES. I SHUT OFF THE MOTOR FOR A SHORT TIME, RESTARTED IT AND IT WAS FINE. A RECALL IS APPARENTLY AVAILABLE FOR RAM 2500S WITH GASOLINE ENGINES, BUT I WAS TOLD NOT FOR MY DIESEL. THAT NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED IMMEDIATELY TO GET OURS FIXED. VERY SCARY.
I HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS TRUCKS STEERING BEFORE. Complaint#11253556. The recall on the DRAG LINK, which effects steering, has NOT been corrected even tho the recall "weld fix" was done. The truck STILL PULLS TO THE RIGHT. I have had 4 wheel alignments. There is NO room for any alignment to be effective. I complained about this problem BEFORE the recall and it NEEDS TO BE FIXED. The dealer has done nothing to help.

The steering components are causing it to be difficult keeping the vehicle in the driving lane; the vehicle wanders from side to side. Two seperate Dealers cannot locate the problem.

WHILE AT THE DEALER, A HYDRAULIC JACK FELL ON THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE LEAK RECURRED. AFTER THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO MALFUNCTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,867.
TAKATA RECALL. THE RADIO IN MY RAM 2500 IS NOT WORKING WITH MY CELL PHONE. THE RADIO FREEZES UNTIL THE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED
THIS IS FOR A DIESEL ENGINE VEHICLE. PERIODICALLY (EVERY FEW DAYS), FOR 2 TO 5 MINUTES AT A TIME, UNTREATED DIESEL EXHAUST GASES ENTER THE CABIN THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AIR VENT WHEN THE VENTILATION FAN IS ON. THIS OCCURS GENERALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AT LOWER SPEEDS OR NOT MOVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IF I STOP THE VENTILATION AND OPEN THE WINDOWS, MORE EXHAUST GASES ENTER THE CABIN THROUGH THE WINDOWS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WALKED AROUND AND SMELLED THESE GASES AT THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, UNDER THE HOOD, BUT NOT AT THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN COINCIDENTALLY WITH A REGEN CYCLE. STOPPING THE VENTILATION WITHOUT OPENING THE WINDOWS, STOPS THE SMELL IN THE CABIN, BUT NOT IN THE ENVIRONMENT OUTSIDE OF THE CABIN, THE SMELL IS DEFINITELY PURE UNTREATED DIESEL EXHAUST. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NEARBY DEALERSHIP WHO DID SOME QUICK TROUBLESHOOTING BUT DID NOT FIND THE ISSUE. I DID SOME QUICK SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET AND EASILY FOUND A LARGE NUMBER OF POSITIVE HITS FOR THE SAME ISSUE WITH A SIMILAR OUTCOME AT THE DEALERSHIP. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE, AND PEOPLE MENTION THAT THEY TAKE THEIR VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE MECHANICS ARE UNABLE TO FORCE A REGEN AND TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. SOME PEOPLE REPORT THAT CHRYSLER SAYS THAT THIS IS A NORMAL CONDITION AND RECOMMENDS TURNING OFF THE VENTILATION. I HAVE NOT TALKED TO CHRYSLER MYSELF, I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS GOOD, THE DEF TREATMENT WORKS VERY WELL AND I DO NOT SMELL UNTREATED DIESEL EXHAUST AT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE.
TAILGATE LOCK ACTUATOR DEFECT. TAILGATE FALLS RANDOMLY WHILE TRUCK IN MOTION WHEN VEHICLE LOCKS DOORS ONCE IN MOTION AUTOMATICALLY. THE ACTUATOR OVER ROTATES AND UNLOCKS TAILGATE ALLOWING IT TO DROP. ALSO WHEN USING KEY FOB TO LOCK DOORS ACTUATOR OVER ROTATES CAUSING TAILGATE UNLOCK AND ALLOWS IT TO FALL.

"DEAD ACCELERATOR PEDAL" SITUATION: FROM A STOP, THERE IS ABOUT A 1-2 SECOND DELAY BEFORE FULL POWER IS GIVEN. SITUATION 2: WHEN ON THE THROTTLE, AND YOU LET OFF THE THROTTLE COMPLETELY, AND THEN RAPIDLY GET BACK ON THE THROTTLE; THE ENGINE DOES NOT RESPOND FOR ALMOST 2 SECONDS. THIS IS *HIGHLY* DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN MERGING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC; OR IN AN INSTANCE WHERE SOMEONE MAKES AN UNEXPECTED MOVE (PULLING OUT, CHANGING LANES, ETC) IN FRONT OF YOU AND YOU WANT THE POWER BACK QUICKLY. IT HAPPENS TO ME AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK; AND IT CAN BE CITY OR HIGHWAY, AT ANY SPEED. THE ONLY TRIGGER IS TO RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN STEP RIGHT BACK ON IT, AND YOU WILL BE MISSING POWER FOR A COUPLE SECONDS.
