MY ABS module was replaced shortly after purchasing my truck, which currently has 65,000. However, the ABS module has been malfunctioning for years. Despite contacting and visiting dealerships, I've been informed the necessary part is unavailable. consequently, my truck has been without traction control, and I've been unable to use cruise control, for most of the time I've owned it. Recently, I've experienced loss of traction, which has nearly resulted in three accidents. while I understand the concept of recalls, this situation is unacceptable.
The brake hydraulic control unit ("HCU") is failing. I have been dealing with intermittent ABS loss for well over a year. It will consistently flash/alarm during most daily drives with the worst being when on long highway drives and am unable to use cruise control because of this issue. Also, it is a huge safety issue not knowing if the ABS system will function as it is supposed to putting my families lives and the lives of those around me in grave danger. Yes, I have spoken with my local dealership where I purchased the vehicle and with FCA directly and everyone tells me to wait longer. This is completely unacceptable and unsafe for FCA to be allowed to keep this vehicles on the road knowing that there is a safety issue that they seem unwilling to fix.

I had an appointment scheduled for November 18, 2025, at Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Santa Fe to address five outstanding recalls on my Ram 2500 truck. On the morning of November 10, 2025, I called to verify my appointment and was informed by a representative in the service department that my vehicle would need to remain in the shop for at least 48 hours, and that they had never performed these particular recalls before. I requested to speak with the Service Manager, Michael, and made several attempts to reach him to confirm whether the dealership had experience completing these recalls, as I was seeking reassurance. When I finally spoke with Michael, he came across as confrontational. Following that conversation, I contacted Stellantis to inquire about obtaining a rental vehicle, as I had been told the recall work would take a minimum of 48 hours. After speaking with Stellantis, I was informed that when their representative called the dealership, they were told my appointment had been canceled—apparently because I had questioned the dealership’s ability to perform the recalls.

A car lot sold me a vehicle with an unresolved dangerous recall
The brake system and steering system are affected. Both are subject to open safety recalls that have not been fully resolved. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Unresolved brake and steering issues pose a serious safety risk, particularly when driving with my family. A failure or malfunction of either system could result in reduced stopping ability or loss of steering control, increasing the risk of an accident. Due to these unresolved safety concerns, I do not feel safe operating the vehicle. The issues are associated with acknowledged manufacturer recalls. However, my local dealership/manufacturing has failed to adequately respond or complete the necessary repairs, despite multiple attempts to address the problems. The vehicle has been presented to the dealership for recall-related concerns. No inspections by police or insurance representatives have occurred to date. Manufacturer involvement has been limited to customer service communications, without resolution. Symptoms include ongoing brake and steering concerns that prompted recall notifications. These issues have persisted despite recall availability and were present prior to my most recent attempts to obtain service. No effective corrective action has been completed.

Turbo actuator is a defective item. Per the Facebook forums I'm in, this item is often talked about as a common point of failure. There are also several videos on YouTube describing the defect. It limits the VGT vanes in the turbo from building/retarding boost in the engine creating an unsafe driving condition by not being able to accelerate properly and limit the effectiveness of the exhaust brake function when towing leading to longer stopping times which could lead to a crash. There are warning lights and CEL codes that can be read/interpreted from a handheld scanner which I have as well as many other knowledgeable mechanics regarding this specific defective/known Ram issue. There are several codes which point to a defective turbo actuator or failing turbo itself. P00AF-turbo boost control "a" module performance P226C-turbocharger boost control slow response

Rear camera doesn’t fully work. I’ve already had to have it replaced once it’s blurry and it’s a big vehicle causing me to almost run over a child.
The 8.4 inch Uconnect touch screen is delaminating. This allows constant changes of most functions of the truck. Heating/defroster, radio, clock, Navigation etc all keep changing/beepinf/alerting on there own due to the defective u connect screen. This is very distracting and dangerous to drive status. The U connect keeps asking for the drivers attention. Constant changes and beeps to get the drivers attention and make selections on the U connect screen creates a crash risk. CHRYSLER knows this is an issue and will not do a voluntary recall. There is a class action lawsuit due to owners facing financial and safety risks. The truck is a 2018 Ram 2500 with only 16,000 miles. Stored in a climate protected building. There are many forums discussing this issue. 2018 Dodge/Ram products are well known for this safety defect.

The notice includes the warning, "The loss of ABSIESOTraction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. " This defect has rendered my vehicle inoperable for its primary purpose - trailering horses. If! were to need to drive the vehicle, it places me, the occupants and other drivers at risk. The cruise control on our truck does not work when the Hydraulic Control Unit is not working. It has started having issues this past summer which causes the message to be displayed on our dash with a warning sound. This may cause the ABS and ESC not to work properly, which is very concerning. We had planned to pull our 30 ft travel trailer across the US this winter to the south, but with these issues, we are hesitant to drive the truck a long distance. We are also hoping that the truck will stop correctly this winter since we live in Wisconsin and have snow and ice that we have drive in on a regular basis. This is concerning and we are debating as to whether or not the truck will be safe to drive. We called the manufacturer today about the part to repair the problem and there is not one yet. They said we could have a dealership do a “temporary fix” that we would have to pay for and have reimbursed. It was hard to understand the 2 people we talked to (from the Philippines - had heavy accents), so we don’t know if that “fix” really would work. They also said we could get a truck rental through the dealership, but we have no idea if they would pay for it or not, or how long it will be until there is an actual part produced by the company that will fix the problem. We are hesitant to do that if the cost would be on our shoulders, since it could be substantial. So, we may be without our vehicle this winter. It also looks like we will not be able to take our camper south for the winter this year like we always have done since we retired a few years ago due to this safety issue. This is not acceptable and we would like some answers.
ABS module/ HCU faulty. This has been replaced 2 times and lasts 3 years. Dealership says no fix has been made at this time for recall. No new parts to fix it, ABS light constantly going off.
