I was using my cruze control on the interstate in the rain when I heard dings from my dash and kicked my Cruze control off. It said service electronics breaking system and service abs system. It flashed my abs light and my traction control light. It cause my truck to start sliding and luckily no one was close to me and I was able to gather it up but my brakes did not feel right. From my research this is a very common issue with my truck to the point you can’t get the part to fix it.
57,XXX miles on truck. 11 months out of full warranty. HCU and ABS unit failing at random times during normal driving conditions. Keeps throwing service abs, and service electronic brake controller. On off, on off, on off non stop, constantly the whole time truck is being driven its almost undeliverable. ABS unusable stability control not available traction control not available
The antilock /traction control warning light and alarm is going off in my truck. I took it to Woody Folsom Ram Dealership in Douglas,Ga . They informed me that my HCU ( hydraulic control unit) needed replacing .They said they could not even order the part until Feb. 2024. so now if we drive the truck if is less safe especially in inclement weather. This is so dangerous for the Ram company to not have the parts available especially for parts concerning the safety of their customers.
It's been 2 months and there's no fix. Ill happily accept a repair but I want a refund or another vehicle if they can't fix it. I have no ABS or electronic braking system. I've been unable to drive it for years. The part needed is unavailable and dealerships tell me it will be a software update when a fix becomes available when the recall notice says new part. I just want to be able to drive the truck I pay almost 700 a month for. Thank you!
2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon 6.4L service electronic braking system displays on dashboard the abs and traction control lights turn on as well. The messages display quickly then disappear been intermittent now issue is happening on a regular basis. dealer stated that warranty does not cover abs module and according to them the display message is "NOT A BIG DEAL". I advised them that I have two toddlers, and this is my daily vehicle and getting that kind of message from a "DEALERSHIP" is very upsetting and very unprofessional. They are advising me that the vehicle will operate fine but I won't have anti-lock brakes if I press on the brakes quickly. To me this error message "IS A HUGE DEAL AND SAFTEY CONCERN" not only for me and my family but all the other families on the road traveling.
Abs and traction control
In July, I drove over a bridge expander bump and now I am getting two errors: 1) Service anti-lock braking system with the ABS light on; 2) Service electronic brake system with the traction control light lit. The lights and notice come on then go off for a few minutes then back on again. This repeats until I turn the truck off and restart it. It then stopped for several months, but is now doing it again yesterday after driving over a very small bump in the road. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This problem puts me and my family at risk because the anti-lock braking system and traction control are deactivated during these incidents. I am not able to reproduce the problem at will, it happens randomly and intermittently. The vehicle has not been inspected yet. On-line research indicates many owners are having to replace ABS sensor and pump around the same amount of mileage as mine.
While driving the truck my ABS, Traction Control and red brake symbol come on the dash as a warning. The vehicle once this happens no longer can utilize cruise control nor its ABS system during hard braking. This problem began intermittently and has become permanent. Dealerships are unable to get parts for repair.
The truck flashes service antilock brake system, service eletronic brake system. It cancels the cruise control on truck. On several occassions it shuts off cruise while on the interstate. You have to react very quickly to avoid having an accident. A couple of times its happened while pulling a travel trailer and nearly got rear ended by semi truck. Thats really scarey. It started about 8 months ago. Have contacted dealer and was told by service department that they know of about 2000 trucks has same issue. The parts are out of stock and back ordered. I think this is a real safty issue. Dont know what to do about this.
My 2018 RAM 2500 pickup displays these messages "Service Electronic Braking System" and "Service ABS Braking System". The cruise control and the Electronic stabilization system stop working when the messages displays. I am afraid to drive the truck as no ABS or electronic braking makes the truck unsafe to dive. The dealer says the HCU needs to be replaced but the replacement is being redesigned and is not ready. The truck has been parked for over a year. Why hasn't there been a recall on this issue? The truck is unsafe to drive.
ABS FAILURE LIGHT & ALARMS WHEN DRIVING. THEN IT TURNS OFF THEN COMES BACK ON. THIS IS AN ANTI LOCK BREAKING SYSTEM FAILURE PER MESSAGE ON DASH. DURING ANY DRIVING SITUATION OR INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE ABS CAN FAIL WHEN NEEDED CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE IN THE DODGE FORUMS AND RAM DEALERS ARE AWARE HOW COMMON IT IS. NHTSA NEEDS TO TELL DODGE TO RECALL THE PART PLEASE
My vehicle has a recall for a an ABS control module which affects, the ABS system, traction control, and cruise control system. The cruise control system will randomly turn off when the vehicle is at highway speeds causing a momentary struggle to keep control of the vehicle. The driver information display in the gauge cluster will randomly flash an error message with an audible "ding" which is highly distracting while driving. At times, this warning flashes every 3-5 seconds and lasts for 10-30 minutes at a time making it very difficult to concentrate on driving the vehicle. The traction control system fails when the message flashes which has been a problem on wet roads. The dealership has acknowledged the recall of the ABS module multiple times and indicated the manufacturer has not made a fix available for nearly a year. The issues with my vehicle are becoming more apparent and frequent every week. This is the second Ram 2500 I have owned that experienced a failure of the ABS module. I began to notice the issues with this vehicle in July of 2023 and the frequency has dramatically increased in recent months.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the brake hydraulic control unit was replaced in 2023; however, the failure occurred. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); after the repair. The contact stated that the cruise control and traction control failed to function as intended. The hydraulic control unit warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact was informed that the dealer had parts for the repair; however, the manufacturer was not releasing the parts. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
The components failing are the anti-lock hydraulic control unit and electronic anti-lock module. While the brakes work, the safety of the anti-lock system does not provide controlled emergency stopping. The Manufacturer is aware this is a common problem that has not been reliably rectified leaving drivers at risk of injury Warning messages began showing in June 2020 at approximately 29.5k miles. Research revealed this to be a common issue with the 2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. The local dealer confirmed the issue and noted it as a common problem. The faulty parts were replaced by the dealer under the factory warranty. The warning messages are showing again in June 2023 at approximately 74.5k miles. The local dealer who previously completed the repairs stated this problem has continued to be an issue and must be replaced again.
ABS & Traction Control warning off/on on irregular basis Turns off cruise control each time the warning lights activate
On my 18 ram 2500 there’s a problem with the ABS module and controller truck has 49620 miles on it I’ve seen so many others on your website with this problem I can’t see why there’s not a recall from y’all yet because clearly we LOOSE ABS AND A 10000 pound truck that is bought for towing and pulling gos into a full blown slide all over the road then off the road with my camper in tow with or without a trailer behind it makes a VERY DANGEROUS Situation, and don’t know why ram is no fixing the problem
SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKE SYSTEM NOTIFICATION TURNS ON INTERMITTENTLY, CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK DURING THIS TIME
My ABS system has gone out two times since I’ve had the truck. I’m original owner of The 2018. Repaired once under warranty and now at my cost. I feel it’s unusual and unsafe for this to happen in only 80,000 miles
This is the second time the antilock brake control module has failed and this truck has less than 75k miles on it. The warning lights constantly come on and off and if I needed to brake I am not sure that my antilock brake system would work.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the ABS warning light started flashing. The vehicle was self-diagnosed by the contact, and it was determined that the ABS pump and module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available. The dealer was contacted and stated that the ABS pump and module were not available, and that the warranty had expired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The service anti lock brake system light is on, the service electronic braking system light is on. This causes the ABS, traction control and cruise control not to work.
ABS/traction control failure. This also disabled cruise control causing rapid deceleration at set highway speed. Getting repeating chime and check ABS and traction control warning messages. ABS module and HCU were replaced under warranty at under 11,000 miles for same symptoms. Truck now has just over 45000 and read ABS codes indicate that part has failed again. Part seems to be backordered or unavailable from dealers.
I bought this truck new from the dealer. At 18,920 miles, the ABS service light came on and the dealer said the ABS module would need to be replaced. A new part was installed. At 49,715 miles the light came on again and the dealer says the module is defective and needs to be replaced again. This part is on back order for over 2 months telling me these items are in high demand. I don't believe that items like this should be defective and require replacement in this short interval.
The ABS system is not working it has a C0020-01 code. Yes it is available for inspection 24 hour a day. The anti-lock system did not activate in slick rainy conditions. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. Messages- Service Electric braking system. Warning Lamps- ABS and traction control. Other symptoms- loss on cruise control. All of these symptoms started in July of 2023 with 80k miles on vehicle.
ABS Control Module causing ABS light to come on, consistent audio warning, and disengages Cruise Control function. Currently being diagnosed by Dodge dealer the ABS Module and Hydraulic Control Units failing internally. Initially it was very seldom, and now is constant.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH, an alarm sounded, and the ABS warning light and the traction control warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving at various speeds. The contact used an OBD scanner and retrieved DTC codes: C0020, C211B and P0579. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test and repair. The dealer also informed the contact that it was a known failure and one of the parts needed was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure TSB Number: S2005000004 and NHTSA Action Number: PE22012 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 23,900.
Service abs system immediately popped up on information screen, also abs and traction control lights all at the same time. This disengages cruise control and removes digital speed reading. Almost got tailgated.
The truck developed a warning light for ABS / Stabilitrak needing to be serviced. Ram dealership replaced an ABS Pump, but the issue came right back. They are now saying it needs a new control module at great expense, but that they are unavailable currently. Delivery on the part has been pushed back continuously over the last 12 months, still no parts. This issue causes a regular intermittent digging and warning light in the cab, disables ABS, disables Stability Control, Disables Traction Control, and Disables Speed Control (Cruise Control). This issue has been ongoing for 8+ months at this time with no developments from Ram and the vehicle in an unsafe and compromised condition.
While driving the ABS lights flash on and gives warning the ABS system need service. Also traction control light comes on and cruise control stops working. Ram knows there is a problem with 2017 and 2018 2500 and 3500 AB S module.
I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with 35,500 miles, [XXX] . there is a well-known issue regarding the anti-Lock Braking Systems which effects 2017 and 2018 models which, Stellantis -RAM refuses to address. My truck suffers from this issue, the ABS and traction control warning lights constantly flicker on and off and there is an audible ding when this occurs. My local dealer diagnosed the problem, and the truck needs to have the HCU and ABS modules replaced. The cost to perform this work is nearly $2,000 since the parts are expensive and there is a fair amount of programming which needs to occur. Codes from ABS scanner: Ram ABS C2200-49(1/2) Stored Anti-lock Brake Module Internal - Internal Electronic C0090-01(2 / 2) Active ABS Pump Motor Control - General Electrical Failure Besides the cost the main issue is that the parts are not even available. I have been waiting on the parts since July 2023, my dealer says the next "production" date for the part is late June. I received this same type of response 2 times already, first for November, then February now June. Last I checked there are over 400 requests for these parts before me. At this point I drive an unsafe vehicle with no ABS or traction control, and I can’t even get it repaired . I also can’t use the truck for its intended purpose of towing. I’m looking for some assistance in this matter. There is also an active Class action lawsuit against Stellantis to provide relief for owners of these trucks, myself being one. ABS been down since July,2023,alarm dings constantly, dealer says no parts available, and Chrysler is no help
ABS/Traction Control Module failed. 2019-2021 trucks recalled but 2015-2018 trucks with same issue not recalled. Started having issues first in a rain storm towing 32 foot camper with family on board. Cost me $760 to repair at Montrose Jeep Dodge Ram in Kingsville, Ohio.
There is a service electronic brake message along with the service antilock brake, this is an intermittent warning then is a continual lifts on dash. Cruise control shuts down without warning and not sure if any braking components are affected or will have an issue while traveling. I have replaced the recommended components at the dealership and having the same issue in less than 20k miles.
The ABS module on my 2018 Ram 2500 has failed. It is throwing a C0020-01 code. As a result, the ABS and traction control safety feature are no longer working. The warning lights for both are displayed on my dash.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, he noticed an abnormal clicking sound. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the braking system was inoperable. The contact stated that the brakes engaged intermittently while depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed and replaced the two rear wheel speed sensors. The failure reoccurred, and the vehicle was taken to the same dealer again and diagnosed with ABS sensor failure; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,223.
I started my truck on 6/26/2023, and the service electronic braking system light came on, then went off. It has been intermittently coming on since then. When the light is on, I lose ABS, traction control, and cruise control. I had the ABS system repaired under warranty, then again out of pocket in August of 2022 at Ron Carter League City for the same issue. This is a safety concern due to the loss of safety control measures, and needs to be recalled
Hard braking for a deer the abs ,traction light came on lost abs and lowbeam lights wile rainy and lost auto wipers
I continuously receive “service electronic brake system” and “service ABS” warnings. Every time this happens, the service lights on my dash come on and the trucks “dings” to notify me (very annoying when this happens multiple times in the same trip). These go off and come back on multiple times per driving session. Timing varies, sometimes on and off in seconds, sometimes the entire trip. This started as a one time warning and went away, now it happens every time I am in the truck. I have researched this a little and found that the brake control has a known issue, however no recall has been made to correct the issue. Thanks!
Ive purchased this truck from the dealer with the remedy Recall 19V-021 back in 2019. my front right tire went bald after 3000 miles. driven. I purchased new tires and got an alignment. the Auto shop told me the could only adjust the to there best ability due to the welded nut on one of the parts on the steering parts. I went for a 600 mile trip and right as i got on the highway the front right tire blew out. I either need the drag link replaced or a better remedy the front right tire is wearing faster then the other three.
Reporting back-up camera glitches and/or blanking mirror screen! This can cause serious damage or injury to persons or property and even fatalities.
ABS and EBS warnings, traction control warnings repeatedly turning in and off. Code - C0020-01. Cruise control inop when lights/chimes are going. This has been going on for nearly 8 months.
Faulty ABS module causing loss of anti-lock brakes. Results in poor braking and skidding in wet conditions.
The ABS module and the hydraulic control module have failed twice in 75,000 miles. Not having abs or traction control is a huge safety risk for a truck that is designed to haul heavy loads.
The Traction Control and ABS/EBS sensors have failed on my truck. The dealer states that I need an HCU and ABS module in-order to correct the problem, however because the vehicle was made in Mexico the replacement parts are not available.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the "Service Electronic Brake" and "ABS Module Failure" messages were displayed. Additionally, the Forward Collision Avoidance Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) mode disengaged was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS pump control module had failed, and the ABS module part number: 68143491AB and an unknown module part number: 68347098AB needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not available. The dealer cleared the diagnostic codes; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, who cleared the codes; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that he had contacted several unknown dealers, who advised that the parts were not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Electronic brake system light keeps Coming on these vehicles along with the tractions control light which is a known problem.
(I had to pay for parts and labor on ABS replacement that RAM neglects to issue a recall.) this costed me $1,252.11 April 16, 2023 — A Ram ABS module recall allegedly should have been issued by Fiat Chrysler because of problems in 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and 2017-2018 Ram 3500 trucks.
For a few weeks now, my truck has slowly begun to light up and ding, saying “service ABS” but going away. It started to ding continuously and then lit up saying service electronic braking system and ABS. Now I feel as if the only vehicle I own is not safe to drive. I have read the numerous complaints online stating they had the same issue and feel I got sold a lemon with known issues. I cannot knowingly transport my family in a vehicle that isn’t safe. I am a completely disabled veteran and bought this truck with the intention of it being a diesel engine that would last me. Unsure how to proceed.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the ABS controller and ABS pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
