The automatic transmission shift cable, has malfunctioned. The center piece that connects to the gear shift has melted, and prevents the car from starting and shifting gears. The damage was created due to high temperatures from the motor, being that it is very close to it. This should be replaced by the manufacturer.
My car gear shift slides through the gears but wont shift out of park. Something is wrong with the transmission shift cable. I see an active recall for this exact problem on my type of car (NHTSA 14V224) but for some reason my vin isn’t showing up.
Several Issues

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact stated that the power steering failed, and the steering wheel separated from the steering shaft. Additionally, the contact stated that while the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle started to shake. The contact applied excessive pressure to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the air bags, check engine, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering column shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall for the failure. The contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage approximately 228,078.
While driving the car doesn’t switch gear properly. The car made a stalling noise and as soon as I remove my foot from the gas pedal it’s automatically braking.
The car has gas fumes at the trunk of car but the check engine light doesn’t come on! We are concerned because the fumes enter the car while driving! I know Saturn Ion’s were recalled for this reason

The contact stated while driving 45 MPH in the rain, the "Traction Control Off" and "Stability Control Off" messages appeared on the instrument panel and the vehicle inadvertently shifted to third gear independently. The contact also stated that when he depressed the accelerator pedal, the vehicle switched gears to neutral and the windows opened. The contact stated that the vehicle was hydroplaning while driving. The vehicle was taken to a Pepboys location to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vehicle had lost connection with the body control module. The contact stated that he became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair. The contact stated the dealer completed the recall repair however, the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that they could no longer assist because the vehicle was already repaired per the manufacturer's instructions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for diagnostic testing. A case was opened. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 194,800.

The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the brake lights would fail to illuminate while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
When attempting to park, automatic gear shift would not engage and vehicle started to roll backwards. Once vehicle was turned off gear shift move freely but would not engage the transmission. Had to have vehicle towed as it would not start since the shift cable would not move into the parked position.
The brake lights are illuminated when I’m not breaking, and when I do break, the brake lights will go off and I cannot set my cruise control because of it.
POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE LINE FAILED WHEN THE HOSE BECAME DISCONNECTED FROM THE END CRIMP. THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM LOST ALL OF ITS FLUID RESULTING IN THE COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN TRAVELING IN REVERSE AT A SLOW SPEED AND MANEUVERING OUT OF A GARAGE.
SO TODAY DRIVING TO WORK CAR RAN FINE GOT OFF MY EXIT CAME TO THE RED LIGHT AND STOPPED. WHEN I GAVE IT GAS TO GO THE ENGINE REVED UP AND WENT BUT VERY SLOWLY THEN IT STOPPED REVING AND DRIVE FINE. THEN ON MY WAY HOME DID THE SAME THING TILL I WENT TO PULL ON TO THE STREET I LIVE ON AND HAD TO WAIT FOR TRAFFIC MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE BUT REV THE ENGINE. HUSBAND IS CHECKING TRANSMISSION FLUILD LEVELS. BUT HAS NEVER DUN THIS IN THE YEAR I HAVE HAD THIS USED CAR. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NOW. HAVE READY A LOT OF FOURMS AND ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. BUT NO RECALL
WILL NOT EASILY SHIFT INTO 2ND OR 3RD WHILE DRIVING IT SHIFTS VERY HARD AND AT HIGH RPM
MY BATTERY KEEPS GOING DEAD MY DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH KEY FOB ONLY DRIVER DOOR HAVE TO MANUALLY UNLOCK PASSENGER AND BACK LOCKS .FRONT SUSPENSION KEEPS VIBRATING AND MAKING CLINKING NOISES.
SERVICE ESC WARNING LIGHT WILL COME ON RANDOMLY CAUSING THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE WITHOUT PUSHING THE BRAKES. BRAKE LIGHTS WILL SOMETIMES TURN OFF WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. THIS HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL AND HAS BEEN IN FOR THE RECALL TWICE BUT STILL HAVING ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION CAN BE MOVED FROM PARK WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE LIGHTS WILL MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING.
I HAVE OWNED THIS 2007 SATURN AURA SINCE 2017 AND THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHETHER THERE IS A FRONT PASSENGER OR NOT, SOMETIMES THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I'M USING THE CAR THAT DAY AND THEN OTHER TIMES THE LIGHT COME ON FOR A BRIEF PERIOD AND ON RARE OCCASIONS THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN OFF THAT ENTIRE DAY. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER IF THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR AT WHAT SPEED THIS OCCURS, IT SEEMS TO BE TOTALLY RANDOM. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING AS LONG AS I HAVE OWNED THE CAR THAT CURRENTLY HAS 109,00 MILES ON IT. AS FAR AS I KNOW THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS.
THIS CAR HAS ONLY 79501 MILES. WHEN I TRY TO PUT IT IN GEAR IT MAKES A LOUD NOISE ( CLONK !!!!! ) ALSO WHEN I AM DRIVING IT AND USE MY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP I FEEL VIBRATION COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT
THE VEHICLE'S ABS, TRACTION AND ECM CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOSE ALL POWER AND STEERING WHILE GOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON AND CAR CAN NO LONGER MOVE UNDER ITS OWN POWER ( IT HAS FRIED A ECM IN UNDER TWO WEEKS). *TR
I'VE RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CAR AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP ILLUMINATING WHEN NOT PRESSED AND HAS DESTROYED TWO BRAND NEW SETS OF ROTORS IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS DUE TO HOT SPOTS AND STRESS FRACTURES. I HAVE NOTICED IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME WHETHER I'M DOING CITY OR COUNTRY DRIVING. ALSO THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WILL FAIL TO LIGHT UP SOME OF THE TIMES WHENEVER I'M ONLY PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR BUT IT WILL REFUSE TO LIGHT UP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING.
THE SATURN AURA HAS REPEATEDLY HAD DOOR LOCK SWITCHES GO OUT, EACH TIME THE FRONT HEAD LIGHT IS REPLACED, IT BLOWS OUT AGAIN, THE LIGHTS INSIDE THE CAR DIM RANDOMLY. THE TRACTION CONTROL/ABS LIGHTS ARE DISABLED ON THE CAR CONSTANTLY DESPITE REPLACING THE ECM, UPPER AND LOWER INTAKE GASKETS, COOLANT FLUSHING, AND OTHER CLEARED CODES. THE CAR JERKS AND JOLTS WHEN SLOWING DOWN, PARKING, STARTING, AND CHANGING GEARS. IT VIOLENTLY PUSHES THE CAR. THE ENGINE LIGHT AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS ALSO REMAIN CONSTANT DESPITE CONSISTENT WORK ON THE CAR. FOUR DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS (INCLUDING A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP) HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THE ISSUES WITH THE CAR. THE CAR ALSO ENGAGED LOW POWER MODE AND ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE CAR STOPPED BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE WHILE ON THE ROAD.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES WILL AUTOMATICALLY START ON THERE OWN. THIS WILL LAST ABOUT 15 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST YEAR. WHEN BROUGHT INTO A MECHANIC THEY CANT HELP.
TODAY MY DRIVER SEAT CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNT A WHOLE ALL THE WAY THROUGH MY SEAT
THE VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP WITHOUT WARNING AND IS LITERALLY SO HARD TO EVEN TURN THE WHEEL OR EVEN CONTROL THE VEHICLE I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET AND I WENT TO TURN TO GET OFF THE BUSY ROAD AND I'M A STRONG MAN AND I COULD BARELY GET THE CAR TO TURN AND I WAS TRYING SO HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL BUT I COULDN'T
WHILE DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON THAN GOES OFF AND WILL NOT REGISTER THAT A PASSENGER IS IN THE FRONT SEAT.
YEARS AGO, I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT MY TRANSMISSION MIGHT BE FAULTY AND TOOK IT IN TO BE REPAIRED. LAST WEEK, WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO GO BACKWARD. THE GEAR SHIFT (AUTOMATIC) WOULD NOT RESPOND AT ALL. I HAD TO BACK THE CAR INTO ANOTHER SPACE AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE WHILE STILL IN REVERSE. A TOW TRUCK OPERATOR SAID THAT THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE CAME LOOSE. THE REPAIR, IF DONE AT ALL, DID NOT LAST.
I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND IT WENT INTO REVERSE. BUT THEN WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE RIGHT AFTER IT KEPT GOING IN REVERSE. I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR. LUCKLY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME THAT GOT INJURED. I THEN PUT CAR IN PARK AND NO CAR IS LOCKED UP IN PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVEWAY. WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR INCLUDING NEUTRAL.
TODAY WHILE GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY MY CAR WHEELS STARTED TO SHAKE AND THEN MY CAR WOULDN'T GO AND TAKE CARE OF FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLAT TIRE BUT WHEN I TRY TO DRIVE IT IT WOULDN'T GO LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. TRIED TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK IN DRIVE BUT NO LUCK. I'M THINKING IT'S THE TRANSMISSION LINKAGE BUT THEN AGAIN I DON'T KNOW
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WAL-MART. AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN WASN'T GOING AS I PRESSED ON GAS SO I NOTICE SOMETHING STRANGE WAS GOING ON TRIED TO SHIFT IT WOULDN'T DOWNSHIFT. THEN I PULLED INTO MIDDLE LANE THAT IS WERE IT SLOWLY STOPPED. THEN I SHUT IT OFF STARTED MY CAR AGAIN TO GO TO A SAFER PLACE IT STARTED, CONTINUE DRIVING ABOUT LESS THEN A MILE TURNED INTO WAL-MART AND AS I WAS TURNING IN CAR GAS PEDALS AND SHIFT WAS NOT WORKING. SO IT ROLLED AND I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO PARKINGNLOT WAL-MART. WHEN I TRIED TO REVERSE AND MAKE THE CAR STRAIGHT IT WOULD NOT MOVE IN DRIVE ONLY REVERSE. I PARKED MY VEHICLE AND CALLED MY HUSBAND CAUSE I WAS PANIC THAT I ALMOST GOT HIT BEHIND ME TILL I PULLED INTO CENTER LANE I DIDN'T WANT TO DRIVE IT.
THE WIPERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING STARTED BY BREAKING PLASTIC CLIP OVER AND OVER TO NOTHING..POWER STEARING UNIT WORKED ON A YEAR AGO MAKING NOISE LOOSING FLUID STRUTS LOCK UNLOCK TRUNK BUTTONS IN CAR OR HAND HELD NOT WORKING PROPER WERE THERE AND PROGRESSIVELY WORSE SINCE PURCHASE
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR'S POWER FLUCTUATED WHICH HIGH ACCELERATION THEN BASICALLY DOWN TO NO POWER AND THE RPM GAUGE SHUT DOWN WHILE STILL TRAVELING AT 55 MPH BUT THE BREAKS AND STEERING HAD HIGH RESISTANCE WHICH MADE ME GO INTO A PANIC, I EVENTUALLY PULLED TO THE CURB AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND CALLED MY HUSBAND HE TOLD ME TO TRY MAKING IT HOME AT A SLOW SPEED IF IT STILL DRIVES SO I STARTED THE CAR AND THE RPM GAUGE WAS BACK WORKING AND I TOLD HIM AND HE SAID THE PROBLEM SOUNDS ELECTRICAL AND DANGEROUS SO I GOT HOME AND WE HOOKED UP A OBD2 CODE READER AND IT GAVE US COFDE C0561 SO MY HUSBAND GOOGLED THE CODE AND IT MENTIONED A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM THEN WE FOUND YOUR SITE NHTSA.GOV WE FOLLOWED THE STEPS AND DISCOVERED THERE WAS A PENDING UNREPAIRED REALL ON MY VEHICLE AND IT WAS ABOUT THAT SAME PROBLEM AND EXPLAIN THE FIX REMEDY THAT INVOLVED THE BCM SO I CONTACTED THE CHEVROLE, CADILLAC T DEALERSHIP IN VICTORVILLE CA AND MADE A APPOINTMENT FOR 07/15/2019 TO HAVE THE RECALL PERFORMED AND AS WE ARRIVED FOR THE RECALL WE WERE GREETED BY ROBERT KHOURY AND HE GOT INFORMATION OF OUR VISIT AND IMMEDIATELY STATED THAT IF THEY CHECK THE BCM WE'LL BE CHARGED $139.00 THAT WILL BE APPLIED TO THE REPAIR I THEN LET HIM KNOW NHTSA.GOV SAID THE RECALL WILL BE DONE FREE OF CHARGE AND MR. KHOURY THEN STATED JUNK PEOPLE POST ON WEBSITES SO I TOLD HIM NHTSA IS A OFFICIAL SITE BUT HE WOULDN'T LISTEN AND STATED NO PAY NO FIX BUT WE'LL REPAIR THE BREAK LAMP ONLY SO I LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM HOPING THE MECHANICS WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING, I WENT TO MY OFFICE AND PRINTED OUT NHTSA SAFETY ISSUES & RECALLS AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TRYED TO SHOW MR KHOURY BUT HE REFUSED TO READ IT. WE LEFT AGAIN THEN WAS CONTACTED LATER SAYING THE CAR WAS READY AND ON MY WAY HOME IT REPEATED THE SAME THING IT DID WHICH LED TO THE RECALL I CALLED THE DEALER AND KHOURY SAID YOU DIDN'T WANNA PAY
WHEN DRIVING, THE CAR GETS STUCK AROUND 35 MPH. IT'S LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T GO TO THE NEXT GEAR. IT REVS LIKE IT WANTS TO AND EVEN STARTS BUCKING. SORRY I DON'T KNOW THE TECHNICAL TERMS FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES NOW WITH NO WARNING. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED ONCE. THE DATE I ENTERED BELOW IS TODAY'S DATE. IT'S THE MOST RECENT THAT IT'S HAPPENED.
GEAR SHIFT CABLE WAS RECALLED A FEW TEARS BACK AND I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TO HAVE IT FIXED. IN AUGUST 2018 IT BROKE AGAIN. I WAS LEAVING WORK AND PUTTING MY CAT IN REVERSE AND THE CABLE BROKE AND WAS STUCK IN REVERSE, I PAID FOR IT TO BE FIXED. IN LESS THAN A YEAR (APRIL 2019) IT HAS BROKEN AGAIN, DOING THE SAME THING, MOVING MY CAT FROM A PARKING SPOT AND THE CABLE BROKE AND ONCE AGAIN STUCK IN REVERSE.I CAN'T GET ANY INFORMATION UN REGARDS TO WHY IT KEEP HAPPENING. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREAT. ...
THE CAR DOES NOT SEEM TO GO INTO PARK WHEN YOU DO THINK YOU HAVE IT IN PARK IT ISN'T ANOTHER GEAR AND AS LURCHED OUT AND ALMOST SMASHED A COUPLE PEOPLE THAT HAVE HELPED ME WITH THE CAR IT ALSO SEEMS TO HAVE A TENDENCY TO ROLL BECAUSE IT IS NOT FULLY GOING IN THE PARK AND I CANNOT EVEN START IT
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2016 AND HAVE SPENT MORE THAN $2000 MAKING REPAIRS UNAWARE THAT THAT THESE REPAIRS COULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY THE RECALL. I HAVE PAID FOR REPAIRS: . IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, INCREASED RESISTANCE IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONNECTION MAY RESULT IN VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS IN THE BRAKE APPLY SENSOR (BAS) CIRCUIT. THESE FLUCTUATIONS CAN CAUSE ONE OR MORE OF THESE CONDITIONS: THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING PUSHED; THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE PEDAL IS PUSHED; DIFFICULTY DISENGAGING THE CRUISE CONTROL; MOVING THE GEAR SHIFTER OUT OF THE 'PARK' POSITION WITHOUT PUSHING THE BRAKE; AND DISABLEMENT OF CRASH AVOIDANCE FEATURES SUCH AS TRACTION CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, AND PANIC BRAKING ASSIST FEATURES. ANY OF THE ABOVE FAILURE CONDITIONS INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE MAY FRACTURE. IF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FRACTURES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, WHEN THE DRIVER GOES TO STOP AND PARK THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT THE LEVER TO THE "PARK" POSITION, OR REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY. IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE "PARK" POSITION THERE IS A RISK THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL AWAY AS THE DRIVER AND OTHER OCCUPANTS EXIT
I JUST SAW THAT MY CAR IS ON A LIST FOR RECALL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE WAS REPAIRED ON THE VEHICLE BY TOM BELL CHEVROLET (800 ALABAMA ST, REDLANDS, CA 92374, (909) 283-0690). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AND THE BRAKES HAD TO BE GRADUALLY DEPRESSED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV AND FORCED THE CONTACT TO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. ANOTHER UNKNOWN DEALER STATED THE SAME THING AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO DISASSEMBLE THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO FIND THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT ON AND PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT SHOWS NO ONE IN SEAT WHEN IT IS OCCUPIED
THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF REPAIR FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, ENGINES HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND. WHEN DRIVING AROUND 60MPH THE ENGINE WOULD STALL AND 'ENGINE POWER REDUCED' AND 'TRACTION OFF' WOULD FLASH, REDUCING THE CAR SPEED AND MAKING ACCELERATION NEAR IMPOSSIBLE- SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES IN ONE TRIP. CAR ACCELERATES VERY SLOWLY AND CAUSES TRAFFIC BUILDUP. RPM IS AT 5 (X1000)/MIN AT JUST 30MPH AND THE ENGINE IS MAKING LOUD NOISES. SOMETIMES WHEN STALLED OR AT A RED LIGHT THE ENGINE WILL CUT OUT COMPLETELY AND THE CAR WILL DIE. ALMOST CONSISTENTLY THE CAR WILL RATTLE AND SHAKE IN A PULSING MATTER. AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED I HAVE BROUGHT IT IN TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOPS AND NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND A SOLUTION. OFTEN TIMES THE ENGINE IS REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM COMES BACK AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS.
WHILE DRIVING, MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WITHOUT THE PEDAL BEING PUSHED AND THEN WILL EVENTUALLY GO OFF.
I TRIED PULLING MY CAR OUT OF MY GARAGE AND MY CAR GOT STUCK IN DRIVE AND WILL NOT SHIFT TO ANY OTHER GEAR. AND SINCE IT'S STUCK IN DRIVE IT WILL NOT START BACK UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. ADDITIONALLY, THE STEERING WHEEL MADE A POPPING NOISE WHILE BEING TURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS PART OF THE ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING). NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY EXTERNAL BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AS SOON AS I CRANK MY VEHICLE. THEY DO NOT GO OFF UNLESS I PRESS MY BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED A COUPLE OF TIMES. ALSO WHEN I FIRST GET IN MY VEHICLE WHEN I PRESS MY BRAKE PEDAL IT GETS STUCK AND IT MAKES IT HARD TO PUT MY CAR IN GEAR. I NEED THIS CHECKED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS MY SECOND TIME FILING A CLAIM. THE FIRST ONE WAS NOT LOOKED AT.
TAKATA RECALL- I HAVE A 2007 SATURN AURA AND I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKE LIGHTS. THEY ARE CONSTANTLY ON. I HAVE HAD THE BRAKE SENSORS REPLACED AND SAME OUTCOME. I EVEN HAD THE BRAKE SWITCH REPLACED. WHILE I AM DRIVING MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON AND WHEN I USE THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF. HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED QUITE A FEW TIMES.

THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED AN ABNORMAL ODOR COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED MODERATE NECK PAIN AND STATED THAT SHE WOULD BE RECEIVING MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED THE POWER STEERING LINE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SYMPTOMS OF EXCESSIVE OIL LEAKAGE ONTO THE GROUND AND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES ON THE VEHICLE BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
