ALSO, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE NOT BEING APPLIED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO APPLE CHEVROLET (8585 W 159TH ST, TINLEY PARK, IL 60487, (708) 429-3000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
UPON TAKEN OFF MY TRACTION STABILIZER CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON MY CAR WILL THEN STUTTER UPON ACCELERATING MY CAR WILL SMOOTH OUT
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS GOING AT SLOW SPEEDS, I STEP ON THE BRAKS AND THE CAR JUMPS AND GO AT A HIGH SPEED WHEN I AM IN TRAFFIC. IN HAPPENS WHEN THE TRAFFIC IS SLOW AND THEN BEGINS TO MOVE. THE LAST OCCASION RESULTED IN MY CAR BEING TOTALED. IT ALWAYS THE FRONT END.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

CAR RIDING FINE. NO LIGHTS THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I GET IN FROM THE GROCERY STORE AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNING COMES ON AND CAR STARTS JERKING.
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR HAS A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP AND STILL WHINES A LOT WHEN A LOT WHEN IT'S COLD WHEN IT'S COLD IT SOUNDS REALLY ROUGH AND IT JUST DON'T SOUND TO PROMISING BUT EVEN AFTER IT WARMS UP IT STILL HAS WHINE TOO IT
SINCE NEW, WE HAVE HAD PASSENGER AIR BAG ISSUES, IE: NOT SENSING AN ADULT PASSENGER. BRAKES HAVE BEEN OPERATING POORLY, WITH REAR PADS WEARING OUT, AND FRONT NOT. FOUR NEW MASTER CYLINDERS, PADS & ROTORS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. NOW MID 2018, STRONG GASOLINE SMELL FROM UNDER REAR OF VEHICLE. I HAVE SEEN WHERE OTHER SATURNS, HAVE A FUEL LEAK RELATING TO THE FUEL PUMP FUEL LINES. I SUSPECT THE SAME FOR OUR CAR. DOESN'T MATTER HOW FULL THE TANK IS, AND OF COURSE IT IS PARKED. SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS DEFECT. WE LIVE IN TEXAS WHERE IT IS HOT. WE NOW HAVE ABOUT 130,000MILES ON THE CAR.
HEAD LIGHTS CONSTANTLY GO OUT. AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO INDICATE THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE MADE IT DIFFICULT TO KNOW WHEN THE VEHICLE NEEDED FUEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK ICON DID NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
I HAVE A 2007 SATURN AURA WITH 103,000 MILE AND THE TIMING CHAIN (BELT) WENT. UPON INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE I LEARNED THE SAME GM ENGINE IN MY AURA IS IN THE 2007 GMC ACADIA. GM HAS A RECALL ON THE TIMING BELT FOR ACADIA ENGINES AND EXTENDED THAT WARRANTY FOR 10 YEARS WITH 120,000 MILES. DESPITE OTHERS AURA OWNERS COMPLAINTS FOR SAME ISSUE WITH SAME ENGINE THEY WILL NOT EXTEND THAT SAME COURTESY TO SATURN AURA OWNERS. LUCKILY I WAS NOT DRIVING THE CAR WHEN THE BELT MALFUNCTIONED.
VEHICLE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT TURN ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNLOCKED OR THE DOOR IS OPENED; ALSO THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR LIGHTS TO NOT COME ON AND THE LID TO THE LIGHT/MIRROR IS MISSING.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON . I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THIS WEEKEND AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAS STRETCHED AND THAT THE CAMSHAFT ACTUATOR IS NOT STAYING INTO POSITION . THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON THIS ENGINE IN EVERY CAR MODEL EXCEPT THE SATURN .
I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND THROWING CODES. MOSTLY 0641, 0107, 0106 AND 1682. I HAVE A CODE READER AND WAS ALWAYS ABLE TO CLEAR THEM. I THEY CAME BACK RIGHT AWAY I WOULD DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE CABLE AND THAT WOULD SEEM TO WORK. SOMETIMES I WOULD DRIVE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS TO A MONTH OR TWO WITH NO PROBLEMS. THEN ON AUG. 21, 2017 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I HAD A HARD TIME GETTING IT STARTED AGAIN. WHEN I DID IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH. SO I DROVE IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER, THEY RESET THE CODES AND UPDATED THE ECM. THE NEXT NIGHT I WAS DRIVING, CAR WAS RUNNING SMOOTH, NO PROBLEMS. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT AND REDUCED POWER AND TRACTION OFF WARNING CAME ON. IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND STALLED. I TRIED TO RESTART IT AND THE WAS A FAIRLY LOUD NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THERE WERE CODES SET 1682, 0452, 0641, AND 0107. I TRIED TO CLEAR THEM WITH MY CODE READER BUT THEY WOULDN'T CLEAR. I UN DID THE NEGATIVE CABLE AND THAT DIDN'T WORK. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND ALL I GOT WAS A MILD CLICKING SOUND I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL FROM UNDER THE HOOD, SO I THOUGHT THE ECM BURNT UP. SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT STARTED I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE NEXT DAY THE WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER THEY ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO HAVE THE REPAIRS NEEDED FROM THE PREVIOUS DAY DONE. NONE OF THE NOTED REPAIRS HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITHE THE CAR DYING. I TOLD THEM TO JUST FIGURE OUT WHY THE CAR WILL NOT START. WHILE THEY WERE WORKING ON IT I CALLED GM OWNER ASSISTANCE BECAUSE AT THIS POINT I HAD SOME FEELINGS OF MISTRUST. THE DEALER CALLED ME AFTER 3 HOURS AND TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT GOING TO CHARGE ME THE SERVICE FEE AND MY ENGINE WAS SEIZED. I WAS FLABBERGASTED. I ASKED THEM HOW COULD THE ENGINE JUST SEIZE UP WITH NO WARNING. I
I CAN NOT GET SERVICE WITHOUT MAKING MULTIPLE TRIPS TO THE DEALER AS REQUIRED BY GM TO INSTALL A PART THAT IS KNOWN TO THEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED FUEL LEAKING UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (PEARSON BUICK/GMC IN SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
WHEN PARKING AFTER A DRIVE OF ANY LENGTH, STRONG GASOLINE ODOR FROM TANK AREA. AFTER RESEARCH, FOUND IT IS A COMMON FUEL PUMP PROBLEM THAT WAS IN FACT RECALLED ON THE SATURN ION OF THE SAME YEAR MODEL. TO DATE NO RECALLS OR TSB'S HAVE BEEN ISSUED. I FEEL THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT FIXED.

THE CONTACT HAD TO FORCE THE GEAR SHIFTER IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO FULLY ENGAGE IN PARK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD BEEN OCCURRING FOR APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS AND WAS BECOMING WORSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER DRIVING FOR FIVE MINUTES AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT UNTIL THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TIM LALLY CHEVROLET, 24999 MILES RD, WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH 44128) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 866-694-6546 AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 899048. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS, THE CONTACT HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,826.
AT ABOUT 80K MILES THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OCCUPIED LIGHT WOULD ALTERNATE BETWEEN ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. AT ABOUT 93K MILES THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND THE SERVICE AIRBAG MESSAGE ON THE INFORMATION CENTER IS ON. RESET THE MESSAGE AND THE RED SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS "ON". THE PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPIED LIGHT INDICATES "OFF".
TAKATA RECALLS. THE SERVICE ESC AND TRACTION OFF INDICATOR LIGHT KEEP COMING ON. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, AS I WAS DRIVING HOME THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS WENT OFF AND CAME BACK ON. EVEN THE SPEED ODOMETER ACTED UP. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, THE CAR WOULD NOT REVERSE,IT MADE A SOUND WHEN I DID BACKED BACK. NOW, EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN MY CAR, I HAVE TO KEEP PUMPING THE GAS PEDDLE AS I'M TURNING THE KEY TO START IT UP. THE RIGHT FRONT AND SIDE SIGNAL LIGHTS DON'T DON'T DON'T WORK
CAR WILL NOT PASS SMOG DUE TO CODE P0017 SO I TOOK IT TWICE FOR REPAIR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. TECH SAID AN ENGINE FLUSH MAY FIX THE PROBLEM BUT IT DIDN'T WORK SO THE NEXT THING IS THE CRANK SHAFT TIMING CHAINS WHICH WILL COST OVER $2,000 TO FIX. CAR HAS LESS THAN 93,000 AND I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WILL A RECALL BE ISSUED SOON.

THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,200.
MY CAR REVS UP AND STARTS TAKING OFF ON ITS OWN WHILE MY FOOTS ON THE BRAKE, IM AT A COMPLETE STOP, I HAVE A HARD TIME STOPPING IT, I PUT IT IN PARK WHEN IM STOPPED NOW, IT REVES UP WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP AND TAKES OFF, 7 TIMES NOW
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE GEAR SHIFT BOX. IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED AND CORRECTED IN DEC 2015 BY CAPITAL CADILLAC. THIS PAST FRIDAY 28 APR 2017, I WAS BACKING IN, I PUT THE CAR IN PARK. THE CAR WAS STILL MOVING SO, I PUT THE FOOT BRAKE ON. LATER, I STARTED THE CAR, IT WOULD NOT TURN BUT THE RADIO WAS ON. I THOUGHT I NEEDED A JUMP AND THAT WASN'T THE CASE, NEXT I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO CAPITOL CADILLAC WHERE I HAD THE THE RECALL DONE. PAUL FROM CAPITOL CADILLAC CONFIRMED IT WAS THE GEAR SHIFT BOX (CABLE). THE SAME ITEM THAT WAS RECALLED MALFUNCTIONED, AGAIN. THE DEALER WOULDN'T REPLACE THIS ITEM BECAUSE IT WAS 1YEAR AND 4 MONTHS OVER THE WARRANTY AND THE SPECIAL COVERAGE WARRANTY EXPIRED IN 2016. I'VE NOW INCURRED AN OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSE DUE TO A RECALL ORDER THAT WAS HAPHAZARDLY FIXED PROPERLY 1 YEAR AND 4 MONTHS LATER.
BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF AND THEN ON. THIS CONDITION WOULD HAPPEN WHILE STOPPED WITH BRAKES ON OR WHILE DRIVING WITH BRAKES OFF. GM SERVICE POLICY PREVIOUSLY COMPLIED WITH TO FIX CONDITION. BRAKE SENSOR WAS AT FAULT. SENSOR REPLACED.
I TOOK MY 2007 SATURN AURA XR 3.6L TO FIRESTONE TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. FIRESTONE ALERTED ME THAT I NEEDED A TIMING CHAIN. I SEARCH THE INTERNET AND FOUND GM WARRANTY 11340 COVERED OTHER GM VEHICLES WITH THE SAME 3.6L MOTOR AND REPAIRED THE TIMING CHAIN AT NO COST! WHY IS THE SATURN AURA NOT ON THE LIST WE HAVE THE SAME MOTOR.

THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD A LOUD TICKING NOISE WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED ONSTAR TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS INFORMED, WHICH PRODUCED A CODE FOR THE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SHIFT ROUGHLY. SHIFT FROM 6TH TO 5TH, OR 5TH TO 4TH GEAR WHEN GOING UP AN INCLINE EXTREMELY JERKY. CAR DROPPED TO 2ND OR 3RD GEAR, ENGINE RACED TO HIGH RPMS AS SPEED DECLINED FROM 60MPH. NO REVERSE GEAR AFTER COMING TO A STOP. BARELY MADE IF OFF THE HIGHWAY WHILE NAVIGATING THRU DENSELY PACKED FOUR LANE HIGHWAY SPEED TRAFFIC. TRANSMISSION SHOP ESTIMATES EXCEED $4K.
WHILE DRIVING 55 ON A BUSY TWO LANE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE DINGED AND READ SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL ON CONSOLE, IMMEDIATELY THE IT FLASHED ENGINE POWER REDUCED AND ENGINE DISABLED AND MY CAR LOST ALL POWER AND I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT ALL THE WAY OFF THE ROAD DUE TO THE UPHILL INCLINE - THE CAR BEHIND ME SHOT OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND ALMOST CAUSED A MAJOR MULTIPLE CAR PILE UP. THE CAR RESTARTED AFTER SITTING A FEW MINUTES WITH REDUCED ENGINE POWER FOR THE FIRST TWENTY MILES - I COULD TOP OUT AT ABOUT 45 AND HEAR AN ELECTRICAL ENGAGEMENT SOUND. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE LIGHTS WERE GONE BY THE TIME I GOT THERE AND IT WAS BACK UP TO POWER. I WAS TOLD IT WAS LIKELY A SENSOR ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART. IT HAS DISABLED ON ME ABOUT FIVE TIMES NOW WITHOUT WARNING AND DOES SO AT ANY SPEED. IT STARTED THIS BEFORE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE, SPECIFICALLY AS I LOST TRACTION ON SOME ICY SNOW AND SPUN THE TIRES A FEW TIMES WHEN THE CAR HAD 50,000 MILES ON IT. BEFORE THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS ADDRESSED I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AS THE TIMING CHAIN AND CAM ACTUATORS FAILED AT 210 K. WE SOMEHOW FORGOT ABOUT THE TC PROBLEM AND THREE DAYS INTO DRIVING WITH A NEW ENGINE THE CAR DISABLED AGAIN STATING SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL.

FOLLOWED UP WITH PARADISE CHEVROLET AND CADILLAC ON 8-MAR-17 THEY STATED NO RECALLS REGARDING FUEL SYSTEM. NOTIFIED GENERAL MOTORS. MECHANIC ON 14 MAR-17 ADVISED THAT FUEL IS LEAKING AT FUEL PUMP AND SENDING UNIT/MODULAR.
BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL NOT BEING PUSHED. BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF WHEN PEDAL IS PUSHED. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL FAILS WHEN BRAKE APPLIED. DIFFICULTY SHIFTING OUT OF PARK UNLESS BRAKE PEDAL APPLIED.
THE MESSAGING DISPLAY WAS INDICATING "TRACTION CONTROL" AND "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN. I PULLED OVER AND WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES AND STARTED IT UP AGAIN. IT DROVE FOR A WHILE AND THEN THE DISPLAY CAME BACK ON. I HAD IT CHECKED BUT NOTHING WAS FOUND. THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AND IT SEEMS THE PROBLEM WAS GETTING WORSE AS THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND MAKING LOUD NOISES. I TOOK IT BACK AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A GROWING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON SIMILAR VEHICLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED, AND THEY DID NOT SAY WHY. THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TELLS ME IT IS EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AND CANNOT GIVE MORE THAN A 30 DAYS WARRANTY ON THE REPAIR. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATED ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING AS A RESPONSIBLE OWNER TO UPKEEP THIS VEHICLE AS RECOMMENDED. THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND DO THE RIGHT THING WITH INTEGRITY.
ON DECEMBER 30, 2016, I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE A HALF MILE @ 25 MPH TO A STOP SIGN, I PULLED ONTO RITCHIE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF SECOND, THE ENGINE WENT TO 4,000 RPM, AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 35 MPH. I PULLED OFF ONTO THE SHOULDER, AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. AFTER WAITED 15 MINUTES. I STARTED THE ENGINE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I THAN WAITED TILL I HAD NO TRAFFIC, AND RETURNED HOME (1 MILES AWAY). THE VEHICLE WAS SIFTING FINE, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON' ON DECEMBER 31, 2016, I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE GM DEALERSHIP AND THE VEHICLE STILL HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, BUT NOW WHEN SHIFTING, IT WOULD SHUDDER, WOULD NOT DOWN SHIFT, AND WAS ALSO SHUDDERING IN REVERSE WHEN I WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP... I'M TOLD ON JAN. 3, 2017, THAT IT NEEDS A CONTROL VALUE, NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL # 14404, AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $2,150. THE CONTROL VALUE IS CONTAMINATED BY DEBRIS FROM THE FAILED 3RD, 5TH, AND REV. CLUTCH PLATE / GEARS. WHY IS THIS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL? I'VE CONTACTED GM (CASE # 8-2633465781) AND THEY CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY.. PLEASE HELP.
ENGINE TIMING CHAINS PROBLEM. MY CAR ONLY HAD 18,800 MILES ON IT WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND WAS TOLD I HAD TO SPEND 2000 DOLLARS ON HAVING THE TIMING CHAINS REPLACED. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE. GM WOULD NOT HELP BECAUSE MY CAR WAS JUST ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD. THE OIL WAS CHANGED ALONG WITH THE FILTER EVERY 3,000 MILES BY A DEALER . WHEN IT WAS REPAIRED THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS MISSING THE CAMSHAFT THRUST WASHERS. GM DIDN'T CARE THE TIRES WERE OUTLASTING A TIMING CHAIN THAT SHOULD BE GOOD FOR OVER 100,000 MILES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,210.

SOMETIMES WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURS THE ESC LIGHT IS ON WHILE OTHER TIMES THE LIGHT IS OFF. THE ONLY WAY TO "TRICK" THE CAR FROM SHIFTING TO PARK TO DRIVE IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF, PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL OR EMERGENCY BRAKE TO ENSURE CAR IS STILL IN PARK AND GENTLY PUSH AND HOLD THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON THEN CRANK THE CAR BACK ON.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH CODES P0016 AND P0017, THE CAUSE OF WHICH IS A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN. THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM IN THE GMC ACADIA, WITH THE SAME ENGINE, RESULTED IN A WARRANTY EXTENSION TO 10 YEARS AND 120,000 MILES. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 86,000 MILES AND WILL NOT PASS EMISSIONS DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE DESIGN/ AND OR TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM. COST TO REPAIR IS ANYWHERE FROM $1600 TO $3000 AND MAY REAPPEAR IN AS LITTLE AS 20,000 ADDITIONAL MILES.
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WILL SHIFT FROM ON TO OFF RANDOMLY WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND THE CAR IS EITHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. SOMETIMES THE SERVICE AIR BAG NOTICE COMES ON WHEN A PASSENGER EXITS THE CAR, THEN GOES AWAY AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THE RED WARNING LIGHT ON THE THE DASH DOES NOT STAY ON CONSTANTLY, BUT WILL ILLUMINATE WITH THE SERVICE AIR BAG NOTICE AND THEN GO OUT AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THIS CONDITION HAS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS FUNCTIONING OR NOT.
