STARTING IN MID-OCTOBER, MY 2007 SATURN AURA BEGAN SHOWING SIGNS THAT THE SHIFT LEVER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. MY CAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN PARK WHEN THE LEVER INDICATED IT WAS IN PARK. THE CAR WOULD ACTUALLY DRIFT FORWARD AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I CALLED THE NEAREST SATURN DEALER AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE CAR TO A CHEVY DEALER IN CASE IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CHEVY DEALER HAD MY CAR FOR OVER A WEEK TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND WAIT FOR IT - IN THE MEANTIME, I WAS PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR. AFTER THE SHIFTER WAS REPLACED, THE CAR SHOWED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER I PICKED IT UP. THIS TIME, THE CAR NOT ONLY DID NOT ENGAGE IN PARK PROPERLY, BUT IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN WHEN IT WAS IN PARK. THE CAR DID START IN NEUTRAL. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE CHEVY DEALER AND THEY TIGHTENED A CABLE AT NO CHARGE. THE DAY I PICKED IT UP, I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO WORK AND IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN PARK, AND IT WOULD NOT START IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED FROM WORK. FINALLY, THE CHEVY DEALER REPLACED THE SHIFTER CABLE THAT WAS NOTED TO BE A PROBLEM ON THIS WEBSITE. THIS HAPPENED THE DAY AFTER I FORWARDED THE LINK ABOUT THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALER. THE CABLE WAS REPLACED AT NO CHARGE; HOWEVER, I THINK I PAID FOR A NEW SHIFTER UNNECESSARILY CONSIDERING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE SHIFTER DID NOT IMPROVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
2007 SATURN AURA XE. CONSUMER STATES SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG HIT AND STUNG HER ON THE ARM VERY HARD, AND IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS SHE ATTEMPTED TO STEER THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, HER SEAT BELT LOCKED AND THE VEHICLE INSTANTLY DIED AND EVERYTHING POWERED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THE CONSUMER FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL FROM AN INSPECTOR, WHO STATED THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WAS SOMEWHAT A NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCE AND WAS UNRELATED TO AN ELECTRIC SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING. IT WAS DETERMINED THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN OUTSIDE SOURCE AND GM WAS NOT AT FAULT. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. THE MANUFACTURER PAID OFF THE BALANCE OF THE LOAN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED INDEPENDENTLY FOLLOWED BY THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED THE LIGHT WOULD SHUT OFF FOR FIVE SECONDS AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT PRESSURE HAD TO BE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO OPERATE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP DURING TURNS. VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL FELT DURING TURN. *TR
I WAS ADJUSTING MY ELECTRONIC DRIVERS SEAT WHEN I NOTICED THAT RIGHT SIDE WASN'T RESPONDING TO ANY VERTICAL ADJUSTMENTS I TRIED TO MAKE. IT STILL WORKED FORWARDS AND BACK SO I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT AND STARTED ON MY 2 HOURS DRIVE TO WORK. I DISCOVERED THAT WHENEVER I BANKED LEFT ON THE FREEWAY THAT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SEAT WOULD RAISE UP AND THEN SLAM BACK DOWN BECAUSE IT WAS NOW LOOSE. THE MOUNTING BAR FOR THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS BROKEN. IT WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE THIS WAY - ALWAYS BOUNCING AROUND MADE IT HARD TO STEER STRAIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS QUOTED $600 + LABOR TO REPLACE THE SEAT. I DID NOT HAVE THE WORK DONE. I TOOK A METAL HOSE CLAMP AND SECURED THE TWO BROKEN ENDS OF THE MOUNTING BAR TOGETHER THEN WRAPPED IT WITH DUCK TAPE TO KEEP THE CLAMP IN PLACE. THE SEAT STILL COULD NOT BE RAISED OR LOWERED BUT THE FIX WORKED FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. I HAVE SEEN DOZENS OF POSTS FROM PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT THAT THIS SHOULD HAPPEN. *TR
ONE OF THE STRUCTURAL WELDS IN THE DRIVER SEAT FRAME HAS BROKEN LOOSE WHILE DRIVING. I CALLED SATURN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE. THEY SET UP AN APPT WITH MY LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE DEALERSHIP AGREED WITH ME THAT IT WAS A DEFECTIVE COMPONENT AND IN THEIR EXACT WORDS (NOTHING YOU (THE OWNER) COULD HAVE DONE, WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE WELD TO BREAK) MY GM DISTRICT SPECIALIST WORKED WITH HER MANAGER, THE MANAGER'S FINAL DECISION WAS THAT ONLY HALF THE COSTS ($400 OF THE $800 TOTAL) WOULD BE COVERED SINCE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE MANAGER WILL NOT TAKE CALLS FROM CUSTOMERS. I OFFERED TO PROVIDE PICTURES OF THE BREAK AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY CANNOT RECEIVE EMAIL FROM CUSTOMERS. THE PICTURES I HAVE TAKEN CLEARLY DETAIL THE COMPONENT WAS WELDED INCORRECTLY AND THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THIS. THIS IS A STRUCTURAL WELD IN THE FRAME OF THE SEAT THAT SHOULD NOT BREAK REGARDLESS OF THE VEHICLES AGE. *TR
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. I'VE READ ONLINE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR A TON OF OTHER 2007 SATURN AURA OWNERS. I HAVE HEARD THAT THE REPAIR IS WELL OVER $1,000.00 BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO TAKE YOUR PASSENGER SEAT APART TO GET TO THE PROBLEM, & THE LABOR COSTS ALONE ARE PHENOMENAL! IF SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL??? AIR BAGS ARE VERY IMPORTANT, & IF MINE DON'T WORK, I THINK I SHOULD GET THE COST TO FIX IT (FROM GM) TO PAY FOR THE PROBLEM!!! *TR
SERVICE ESC WARNING LIGHT. I WAS FLAGGED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE EVENING THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. WHEN YOU PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF. WHEN YOU RELEASE THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO JOSEPH CHEVROLET IN CINCINNATI OH. JOSEPH CHEV REPLACED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE ON AUG 22, 2011. IT COST ME $535.72. THEY DID NOT INFORM ME THAT OTHER VEHICLES WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. IN SEPTEMBER 2013 THE BRAKE LIGHTS AGAIN WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I FILED A COMPLAINT TO GM FILE # 71-1220534971 BECAUSE THIS CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS INJURY. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO JOSEPH CHEV AGAIN BUT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND ACTED LIKE THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG. AGAIN AFTER MY 3RD VISIT TO JOSEPH CHEVROLET WITH MY CAR AND A NEW FILE # 71-1300874571 JOSEPH CHEV CHARGED ME $269.16 TO REPLACE THE BRAKE SWITCH AND REPAIR WIRING AT BPP SWITCH. I PLEADED WITH JOSEPH CHEV AND GM THAT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE DRIVING WITH BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE CHARGING ME OVER $800.00 FOR A DEFECT THAT IS HAPPENING ON OTHER SATURN AURA VEHICLES. HAVING BRAKE LIGHTS I THOUGHT WAS A BASIC FUNCTION. THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME OUT WITH THE CHARGES. I HAD TO SPEND THE MONEY BECAUSE THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
2007 SATURN AURA XE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS INTERMITTENTLY ON AND OFF WITH PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. DEALER STATES IT WILL COST $960. TO REPLACE THE PPS MODULE, THE SEAT COIL AND THE HEATER IN THE SEAT. THIS HAS OCCURRED SPORADICALLY SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CARE WITH 35000 MILES ON IT. AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS, IT SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
2007 SATURN AURA - PULLED INTO PARKING SPACE FOLLOWING MULTIPLE SHORT TRIPS DURING THE SAME DAY, BRAKED TO A STOP, & TURNED OFF IGNITION. AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS DID NOT ENGAGE TO OPEN POSITION, CAR BEGAN ROLLING FORWARD IN SPITE OF SHIFTER BEING IN THE PARK POSITION. THE ONLY NOTICEABLE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR PRIOR TO THIS EVENT STARTED ABOUT 1 MONTH PRIOR WHEN IT APPEARED THAT THE BRAKES WERE RESPONDING A LITTLE SLOWER THAN USUAL WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING.. THE CAR THEN WOULD NOT START, THE CAR ROLLED WHILE THE SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. WHILE THIS AUTO WAS UP ON A JACK STAND IT WAS ABLE TO BE STARTED MOMENTARILY, THE FRONT TIRES WERE SPINNING RAPIDLY IN SPITE OF THE CAR BEING IN THE PARK POSITION. EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE APPLIED TO PREVENT CAR FROM ROLLING FORWARD. CAR WAS TOWED TO SERVICE GARAGE, THE SHIFT CABLE AND BRACKET WERE FOUND TO BE BROKEN AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000 MILES ON IT WITH NO KNOWN HISTORY OF DAMAGE . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THE SHIFTER CABLE ON THE TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN. THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING IMMEDIATELY. WHEN THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED IT WOULD ONLY SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING DAY AND AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THEY STATED THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS BROKEN. THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED BUT IT WOULD COST OVER $500 SINCE THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR RELATED WARRANTIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER ANY RECALLS OR WARRANTIES BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. IN SEPTEMBER 2010 AND AGAIN IN JULY 2011, MY CAR BEGAN HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH BACK UP LIGHTS (NON EXISTENT) AND BRAKE LIGHTS. THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON WHEN DRIVING AND WOULD GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. THIS ALSO SEEMED TO HAPPEN IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED. OTHER DRIVERS FLAGGED ME DOWN TO ALERT ME TO THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE CHIMSEL LIGHT IN THE REAR WINDOW REMAINED LIT WHILE DRIVING AND TURNED OFF IF BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL GM DEALER TWICE..IT TOOK 2 WEEKS EACH TIME, TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS EVENTUALLY IDENTIFIED AS A FAULTY BODY CONTROL MODULE. THIS WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR, THAT HAD TO BE COMPLETED TWICE. 2007 SATURN AURAS SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. I HAVE NOT USED MY CRUISE CONTROL SINCE JULY 2011, AS I AM AFRAID TO START THIS WHOLE EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS SEQUENCE AGAIN. *TR
2007 SATURN AURA , 79,000MILES. I AM AN OWNER OF A GM VEHICLE AS WELL AS AN EMPLOYEE OF GM. SUNDAY ,JULY 10, 2011. DROVE CAR FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR RETURNED HOME AND STOPPED IN DRIVE WAY. PLACED VEHICLE IN PARK , TURNED OFF IGNITION , REMOVED KEY AND RELEASED BRAKE. CAR BEGINS TO ROLL DOWN HILL. DEPRESS BRAKE TO STOP CAR. CHECKED THAT PRNDL WAS IN PARK, REINSERTED KEY TO OPERATE GEAR SELECTOR. VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK.THEN SET EMERGENCY BRAKE AND LOOKED UNDER HOOD. CABLE CONNECTED TO SELECTOR ON TOP OF TRANSMISSION IS BROKEN AND WILL NOT OPERATE GEAR SELECTOR. THE CAR IS IN DRIVE OR REVERSE AND DOES NOT START. EVEN AFTER MANUALLY MOVING SELECTOR FORWARD PARK WILL NOT BE SELECTED. *TR
THANKS TO THE SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT THE 2007 SATURN AURAS BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE IS WHAT PROMPTED ME TO SHARE MY STORY. ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO I WAS DRIVING ON THE WASHINGTON DC BELTWAY (I-495) ON THE MARYLAND SIDE. I HAD FAMILY FOLLOWING ME IN ANOTHER CAR AS WE WERE TRAVELING UP TO BALTIMORE. MY FAMILY KEPT TELLING ME MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAYED ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING, BUT WHEN I CAME TO A STOP MY BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OFF. CONSIDERING HOW CONGESTED DC TRAFFIC IS I AM VERY LUCKY I DID NOT GET OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I HAD MY CAR REPAIRED AT STERLING CHEVROLET IN STERLING, VA...AND WAS TOLD THEY REALLY COULDN'T EXPLAIN WHY IT HAPPENED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WITH THE BRAKES DEPRESSED. AS THE BRAKES WERE RELEASED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARD. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE WAS FRACTURED AND WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE INTERMITTENT FAILURE RECURRED DURING ENGINE START-UP OR WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THE AIR BAG MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,992. UPDATED 12/06/11*LJ UPDATED 02/06/12
CAR SMOKING FROM DASH CAUGHT FIRE DESTROYED CAR. *TR
FOR DAYS LEADING UP TO EVENT, I WOULD SHIFT INTO PARK BUT CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO ACTUALLY SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK, E.G. IF I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, WHILE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN PARK POSITION, CAR WOULD IDLE FORWARD OR BACK. ON THE DAY OF PART FAILURE, I ARRIVED HOME FROM WORK, COULD NOT GET THE CAR INTO PARK, SO I SET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND TURNED CAR OFF. AFTER 10 MINUTES, I TRIED TO LEAVE FOR A DR'S APPT AND CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED AND REPLACE GEAR SHIFT CABLE. MECHANIC SAID IT WAS COMPLETELY FRAYED. *TR
OUR CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR. THE CAR WOULD MOVE WHILE THE TRANSMISSION LEVER WAS PLACED IN PARK. THE CAR REMAINED IN DRIVE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED 2 DAYS LATER BUT THE CAR REMAINED IN REVERSE EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFT LEVER INDICATED IT WAS IN PARK. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALER THE SHIFT CABLE BROKE AND I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR A $460 REPAIR BILL. *TR
ON APPROXIMATELY 06/01/2011 I NOTICED A SMALL LEAK UNDER THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. ABOUT 6 DAYS LATER THE CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD WHINING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING AND WHEN TURNING IN EITHER DIRECTION. I CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL AND FOUND THE RESERVOIR ALMOST EMPTY. I FILLED THE RESERVOIR WITH POWER STEERING FLUID AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY TED & EARLS SERVICE CENTER INC. IN PLYMOUTH MICHIGAN. TED & EARLS SERVICE CENTER DIAGNOSED THE LEAK AS A FAILED RACK AND PINION AND PERFORMED ALL REPAIRS. I FEEL THAT THE RACK AND PINION SHOULD HAVE LASTED MANY THOUSANDS MORE MILES AND ITS PREMATURE FAILURE PRESENTED A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK THAT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED WITH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARD APPROXIMATELY ONE CAR LENGTH. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD DIFFICULTIES REMOVING THE GEAR SHIFTER FROM PARK. AFTER THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STARTING TO JERK WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A PERSONAL MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT A CABLE FOR THE TRANSMISSION COULD POSSIBLY BE LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

ABOUT 6 DAYS AGO I PULLED INTO A PARK AND TURNED MY CAR OFF BUT IT WOULDN'T START BACK UP. I HAD ONSTAR PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND MY TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE WAS FINE. IN MARCH 2009 THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SHIFT CABLE FOR THE 2008 AND 2009 SATURN AURA BUT NOT ON THE 2007. I OWN A 2007 AURA AND THE SHIFT CABLE RECENTLY SNAPPED IN HALF WHILE DRIVING. MY CAR WAS LITERALLY STUCK IN DRIVE ON AN INCLINE. AFTER MY MECHANIC PURCHASED A NEW CABLE HE NOTICED THAT THE DESIGN WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT WHICH LEAD ME TO RESEARCH THE RECALL ON THAT PART. ON 14TH DEC 2010, WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 SATURN AURA IN TOWN I HEARD A LOUD CRACK AND THE REAR LEFT SIDE OF MY DRIVERS SEAT DROPPED. I REFUSE TO PAY THIS FOR A LEASED VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 43500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE NOW PARKED THE CAR AND WILL NOT DRIVE IT AS IT IS NOT SAFE. GM SERVICE BULLETIN CLAIMS PROBLEM IS CONNECTOR ON COMPUTER BOARD THAT DEVELOPS CORROSION. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I FELT VERY UNSAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THIS ONLY OCCURRED AT NIGHT, SO WONDER IF IT'S TIED IN SOME WAY TO THE HEADLIGHTS. CRUISE AND BRAKES WORK FINE DURING THE DAY. TOOK TO MY MECHANIC TODAY AND HE REPLACED THE BRAKE SWITCH. HAVEN'T DRIVEN AT NIGHT TO SEE IF PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAS BROKEN. IT MAY BE SIMILAR TO A PROBLEM PREVIOUSLY REPORTED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT YET TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR, BUT IT'S EVIDENT THE SEAT FRAME HAS DETACHED IN THE RIGHT REAR PART OF THE UNIT. WHEN POWERING THE SEAT BOTTOM UP, ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE SEAT WOULD MOVE. I RECENTLY TRIED TO RAISE THE SEAT BECAUSE THE BACK FELT TOO LOW AND THERE WAS A "BANG" AND I COULD FEEL THE POWER MECHANISM PUSHING THROUGH THE UPHOLSTERY...OBVIOUSLY NO LONGER CONNECTED TO THE FRAME. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE RADIO TURNED OFF, THE RED BATTERY LIGHT FLASHED AND THE ENGINE MADE A CRANKING NOISE. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AFTER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,291. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,192. UPDATED 01/18/11 *BF THE CONSUMER SATED WHILE WAITING FOR THE REPLACEMENT HYBRID BATTERY, THE VEHICLE WOULD OCCASIONALLY ATTEMPT TO GO INTO HYBRID MODE. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO GO INTO HYBRID MODE BUT COULDN'T. THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT THEN ILLUMINATED AND THE RADIO WENT OUT ND THE ENGINE MADE A STRANGE NOISE AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS JUST BEING STARTED. UPDATED 04/15/11
10/15/2010- BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DRIVING, AND TURNS OFF WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. TOM BANNEN CHEVROLET REPLACED THE INTERNAL FAULT SWITCH UNDER WARRANTY. 11/04/2010- BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DRIVING, AND TURNS OFF WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. TOM BANNEN CHEVROLET APPLIED DIOLECTRIC GREASE TO CONNECTOR PINS UNDER WARRANTY. 9/13/2012- BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DRIVING, AND TURNS OFF WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. TOM BANNEN CHEVROLET CALIBRATED THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION AT MY COST. 11/13/2013 BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DRIVING, AND TURNS OFF WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. TOM BANNEN CHEVROLET NOW STATES THAT THEY "THINK" IT IS THE BODY CONTROL MODULE. THIS HAS BEEN A PERSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR, AND THIS ISSUE IS WELL DOCUMENTED WITH SATURN AURA'S. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE CARS, AND WILL END UP IN SOMEONE GETTING REAR ENDED. *TR
