SUMMARY: GENERAL MOTORS HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN 2004-2012 MALIBU, 2004-2007 MALIBU MAXX, 2005-2010 PONTIAC G6, 2007-2010 SATURN AURA VEHICLES. ON THESE VEHICLES, OVER TIME AN INCREASED RESISTANCE CAN DEVELOP IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONNECTION SYSTEM AND RESULT IN VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS OR INTERMITTENCY IN THE BRAKE APPLY SENSOR (BAS) CIRCUIT THAT CAN CAUSE SERVICE BRAKE LAMP MALFUNCTION. AS A RESULT, THE SERVICE BRAKE LAMPS MAY ILLUMINATE WHEN THE SERVICE BRAKES ARE NOT BEING APPLIED, OR MAY NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE SERVICE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED. ADDITIONALLY, CRUISE CONTROL MAY NOT ENGAGE. IF CRUISE CONTROL IS ENGAGED, ADDITIONAL SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED TO DISENGAGE IT. SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL APPLICATION MAY NOT BE REQUIRED TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER OUT OF PARK, OR ADDITIONAL SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER OUT OF PARK. TRACTION CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, AND PANIC BRAKING ASSIST FEATURES, IF EQUIPPED, MAY BE DISABLED. SERVICE ESC AND/OR TRACTION CONTROL TELL-TALES MAY ILLUMINATE WITH THIS CONDITION. SAFETY RISK: THESE CONDITIONS MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. REMEDY: DEALERS ARE TO ATTACH THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE BCM WITH A SPACER, APPLY DIELECTRIC LUBRICANT TO BOTH THE BCM AND HARNESS CONNECTOR AND ON THE BAS AND HARNESS CONNECTOR, AND RELEARN THE BRAKE PEDAL HOME POSITION FREE OF CHARGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND COMPLETELY SEIZED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
TAKATA RECALL: DURING WORK HOURS, WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED OUT IN THE HOT GEORGIA SUMMER SUN ALL DAY I GET A SERVICE AIR BAG ALERT WHEN I START IT. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PARK IT UNDER THE TREES WHEN POSSIBLE DURING THE HOTTEST DAYS AND THIS KEEPS THE ALERT FROM HAPPENING FOR THE MOST PART. SOMETIMES THOUGH, THIS SERVICE AIR BAG ALERT COMES ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT FOR AWHILE AS WELL. HOWEVER, I AM NOT ON THE AIRBAG RECALL LIST. WHILE AT THE MECHANICS, THE ALERT WOULD NOT COME UP AND I WAS TOLD TO BRING IT BACK WHEN IT DOES.
THE CROSS MEMBER ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAS BROKEN CAUSING THE SEAT TO LEAN TOWARDS THE CENTER CONSOLE. SEAT IS VERY UNSTABLE AND DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEARS WOULD NOT PROPERLY ENGAGE WHILE IN ANY GEAR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE VEHICLE ROLLING WHILE IN PARK, REVERSE, OR DRIVE AND HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO PREVENT A CRASH. IN ADDITION, THE ONSTAR SYSTEM (VOICE COMMAND) AND RADIO WOULD ACTIVATE ON THEIR OWN DUE TO AN INTERNAL ELECTRICAL WIRING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LARRY PUCKETT CHEVROLET (2101 COBBS FORD RD, PRATTVILLE, AL 36066, (334) 223-4481) AND THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED MORE THAN FOUR TIMES DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WHEN PROMPTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.
I CARRIED MY CAR TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER AFTER GETTING A "SERVICE AIRBAG" MESSAGE I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS DANGEROUS AND THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER MODULE AND SENSOR. THE COST QUOTE WAS OVER $1200.00. IT IS BEING REPAIRED AS I WRITE. HOWEVER, SINCE THEY ADMITTED THAT THIS IS DANGEROUS, SINCE MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 54,000 MILES, AND BASED ON THE ENORMOUS COMPLAINTS, IT SEEMS OBVIOUS THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL SITUATION.
2007 SATURN AURA. CONSUMER SEEKS REIMBURSEMENT FOR FUEL PUMP LEAKAGE RECALL REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING AND HE COULD SMELLED GAS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $ 493.35. *JB

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE MILES. HOWEVER, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL FOR THE SAME FAILURE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT.OCCURS BOTH WHE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. DATE OF WHEN THIS HAPPENED IS AN ESTIMATE
THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED AND THE TRACTION LIGHT COME ON. WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF THE ENGINE HAS NO POWER. ALSO WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AT REGULAR SPEED IT WILL REDUCE WITHOUT WARNING. IT MAKES ME FEEL VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT ISSUES FROM DAY ONE AND NOW THAT THEY STOPPED MAKING THEM GM DOESN'T WANT TO HELP. THEY JUST WANT TO SELL YOU A NEW CAR.

THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL) AND 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO START AND THE GEAR SELECTOR HAD TO BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL TO GET THE KEY TO TURN OVER TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO ROLLED OUT OF POSITION WHEN THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS PLACED IN PARK, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO PREVENT A FAILURE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE INTO A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE AND PARKED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO THE CONTACT'S PORCH. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A GEAR CABLE PIECE FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THERE WERE TWO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED WITH A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL THE ECM LIGHT WAS ON THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN CAR IS ON AND WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT. IT HIS DIFFICULT TO MOVE THE SHIFTER FROM PARK TO ANOTHER GEAR. I HAVE THIS CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND EVERY TIME I CHECK THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR. THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE COMES AND GOES ALL THE TIME.

THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO GET THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DRIVERS SEAT TRACK BROKEN. WELD BETWEEN A CROSS TUBE AND THE TRACKS BROKE WHICH APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM CARS OF A CERTAIN TYPE DURING THIS SAME YEAR AS WELL AS BEFORE AND AFTER 2007. SEAT NOW IS NOT STABLE, IT ROCKS BECAUSE IT DROPPED DOWN IN THE BACK LEFT REAR OF THE SEAT. UNSTABLE DRIVERS SEAT IS NOT AN IDEAL SITUATION FOR MAINTAINING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE UNDER CERTAIN MANEUVERS.
I STARTED THE CAR (IN THE RAIN) SUDDENLY THE TC LIGHT CAME ON AND ALSO THE WARNING WORDS ENGINE POWER REDUCTION. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I LEFT THE CAR FOR THE WEEKEND IN THE DRIVEWAY AND WHEN I STARTED IT ON MONDAY, EVERYTHING SEEMED OK.
SES LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT APPROX 95,000 MILES WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. CODE READ IS P0017. I TOOK TO MY LOCAL IOWA CITY GM DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE AND WAS TOLD IT'S A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN. I'M THE VEHICLE'S SECOND OWNER AND PURCHASED IT 6 YEARS AGO AT 33,000 MILES. I'VE ALWAYS PERFORMED REGULAR OIL CHANGES AT THE SPECIFIED INTERVALS AND TAKEN GOOD CARE OF THE CAR. I WAS QUOTED $2,500 TO FIX THIS, AND TOLD THIS IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ISSUED FOR CERTAIN EFFECTED VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR WITH THE SAME ENGINE BUT EXCLUDES THE SATUN/AURA XR: HTTP://WWW-ODI.NHTSA.DOT.GOV/TSBS/. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CAR AND WOULD I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY MY 3.6L ENGINE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE ABOVE BULLETIN.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT CAUGHT FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. MY FAMILY HAS OWNED GM VEHICLES FOR 35 + YEARS. FEBRUARY 2016, I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 SATURN AURA XR (V6 3.6 L ENGINE) HOME AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL GM DEALER WHO STATED IT THAT IT WAS A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. REPAIR COST $ 1,667.05. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, WHY? IT IS THE THIRD TIMING CHAIN ON THE CAR. YES, THAT'S RIGHT THIRD! PROBLEMS WITH TIMING CHAIN & TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS EASILY GO UNNOTICED AND CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. A DEFECTIVE TIMING CHAIN CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND PRESENT SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. THE FIRST TIMING CHAIN FAILED AT 56,000 MILES IN MARCH 2013 THE SECOND TIMING CHAIN FAILED AT 80,000 MILES FEBRUARY 2016 IN 2 YEARS 11 MONTHS AND 24,000 MILES, THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED REPLACEMENT SOMETHING IS INHERENTLY WRONG WITH THIS ENGINE AND/OR REPLACEMENT PARTS. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO NEED A THIRD (3) TIMING CHAIN ON A VEHICLE. OUR 2007 SATURN AURA XR HAS THE SAME V6 3.6 L ENGINE AS THE 2007 MODELS: (CADILLAC CTS, SRX, STS; GMC ACADIA & SATURN OUTLOOK) THAT GENERAL MOTORS ISSUED A RECALL CONCERNING PREMATURE WEAR OF TIMING CHAINS FOR THESE 2007 MODELS. GM SHOULD HONOR THE RECALL FOR OUR SATURN AURA XR. AS LOYAL GM CUSTOMERS, WE ARE REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIR EXPENSES OF $ 1,667.05 FOR REPLACEMENT OF SECOND (2) TIMING CHAIN IN LESS THAN THREE YEARS.
I HAVE A 2007 SATURN AURA XR 3.6L, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MY MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE CODES AS 1). REPLACE ENGINE 2). REPLACE TIMING CHAIN. SUNDAY, JAN 17TH, 2016 MY ENGINE BLEW. THERE ARE 157,000 MILES ON THIS CAR AND WAS EXTREMELY WELL CARED FOR & HAVE RECORDS TO PROVE SO. THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE CAUSING THE ENGINE TO BLOW. I LOVED THAT CAR ....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN AURA. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING AND WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POURED FLUID INTO THE STEERING PUMP HOSE; HOWEVER, THE HOSE FRACTURED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE CONTACT IS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE HIGH AND LOW SIDE PRESSURE HOSE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,288.
I KEEP RECEIVING A CODE P1A6F, P1A92 MY CAR KEEPS CUTTING OFF AND COMING BACK ON LOSS OF POWER LOSS OF FUEL.
THIS CAR HAS BEEN A BUST SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT A YEAR AGO AND WAS OF COURSE A RECALL FOR MANY OTHER AURAS EXCEPT OUR SPECIFIC ONE. HAD THAT REPLACED, NOW ITS THE TIMING CHAIN, WHICH IS ALSO A COMMON COMPLAINT OF THE AURA YET THERE IS NO RECALL. THE CAR MISFIRES, SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN IN IDLE AND WHEN DRIVING. IT HAS A VERY HARD SHIFT. ITS VERY HARD TO ACCELERATE AND THE RPMS SHOOT UP. IT ALSO STALLS AND IT SOMETIMES JUST SHUTS OFF. EVERY LIGHT IN THE VEHICLE IS ON, CHECK ENGINE, STABILTY, ETC. IT ANOTHER EXPENSIVE REPAIR THATS WORTH MORE THAN HALF THE CAR.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STOPPED AND WOULD ONLY GO INTO REVERSE. IT HAD TO BE TOWED BY PUSHING THE CAR ONTO THE TOW TRUCK. IT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN FIXED DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION NOT STAYING IN DRIVE, THIS WAS FROM A PREVIOUS RECALL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
WHILE WE WERE SERVICING A CUSTOMER'S VEHICLE THE VALVE STEM CRACKED. ALL AIR LEAKED FROM THE TIRE AND A NEW TPMS SENSOR NEEDED TO BE FITTED.

IN OCTOBER 2015 I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION ON INTERSTATE 60 & MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED WHEN IMPACT ACCRUED GOING APPROXIMATELY 55ML AN HR & MY FRONT BUMPER HAD TO BE REPLACED & DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL LOCKED UP MAKING CAR NOT DRIVEABLE IMPACT WAS ON PASSENGER FRONT & SIDE OF CAR & MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED & LIGHT CONTINUES TO READ SERVICE AIRBAG I WENT TO CHEVROLET 1YR AGO & TOLD THEM THEY SAID MY CAR HAD A RECALL ONLY FOR THE BRAKE LIGHTS & THAT'S ALL THAT FIXED. THE OIL ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ONCE & AWHILE EVEN WHEN MY OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED BUT NOT AS OF HER AS THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT YET MY CAR SHOWS ITS NOT INCLUDED IN THE AIRBAG RECALL SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON & NO ONE ELS HAS ANSWERS EITHER EXCEPT TO TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP BUT WHEN I DID NOTHING WAS DONE IT EVEN LOOKED AT WHEN COMES TO MY AIRBAG & AGAIN AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED WHEN I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION ON INTERSTATE 60 IN OCT 2015. ALSO MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT WHEN AJUSTING THE SEAT CONTINUES TO GO OUT & TAKES A DAY OR TWO ON CONTINUALLY PLAYING WITH AJUSTERS ON SIDE OF SEAT TO GET IT TO WORK TO PUSH SEAT BACK OR FORWARD IF I ALLOW ONE OF MY KIDS TO USE CAR TO RUN TO STORE.

WHEN DRIVING WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER THE "SERVICE AIRBAG" WARNING COMES ON AND IN THE MIDDLE DISPLAY ON TOP OF THE DASH BOARD IT SAYS, "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF." WHEN I CLEAR THE MESSAGE USING THE CLEAR BUTTON ON MY STEERING WHEEL IT WILL THEN SAY, "PASSENGER AIRBAG ON." THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES EACH TIME I DRIVE WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND AFTER 10+ HRS OF DIAGNOSTICS, TEST DRIVING, ETC. THEY SAY I NEED A NEW PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG MODULE AND SENSOR....AT A COST OF JUST MORE THAN $1,000. THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL 2007 SATURN AURA'S COME IN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. AT THIS POINT THEY SAY IT IS NOT COVERED BY GM AS A WARRANTY ISSUE. I THINK IT SHOULD BE. APPARENTLY IF I GET IN A WRECK WHILE THE SENSOR SAYS THERE IS NO ONE IN THE FRONT SEAT WHEN THERE IN FACT IS, THE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK....AND MY PASSENGER IS LOOKING AT THE POTENTIAL OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. IF THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS GM CAR, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.
VEHICLE HAS A TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM, THROWING A P0017 TROUBLE CODE. MY MAKE , MODEL AND ENGINE ARE INCLUDED IN GM SPECIAL POLICY 11340A, COVERING THE SPECIFIC ISSUE OF A BAD TIMING CHAIN. THIS DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED BY A GM DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP AND GM REFUSE TO COVER MY VEHICLE IN ANY WAY. MY VEHICLE CANNOT PASS MY OHIO E-CHECK AND RUNS ROUGH, WITH RUNNING CONDITION DETERIORATING.
DUE TO SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, I NEARLY AVOIDED A COLLISION FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS OCCURRED WHILE TURNING LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION WITH REGULAR TRAFFIC FROM AN AIRPORT. THE ENGINE TIMING CHAIN REQUIRED REPLACEMENT, WHICH WAS RATHER COSTLY. GM SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT BULLETIN #11340C COVERS SOME BUT -CONSPICUOUSLY- NOT ALL GM VEHICLES WITH THE SAME 3.6L ENGINE FOR UP TO 10 YEARS. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT UNEXPECTED LOSS OF ENGINE POWER (DUE TO WORN TIMING CHAIN OR ANY OTHER ISSUE) IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ALL VEHICLES WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE ENGINE / TIMING CHAIN ARE NOT BEING PROACTIVELY REPAIRED BY GM.

WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER THE LIGHT ON THE DASH KEEPS FLASHING FROM AIRBAG ON TO AIRBAG OFF, THIS HAPPENS WITH ANY WEIGHT PASSENGER. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A CODE OR REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AFTER CHARGING ME FIFTY DOLLARS TO CHECK IT. THEY SAID IT MAY BE A SEAT SUPPRESSION MODULE THAT WOULD COST 925.06 AND IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.
