ENGINE REDUCTION, SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN, WAS ALMOST HIT BY A SEMI, ENGINE REDUCTION LIGHT COMES ON, LOSE POWER AND CAR SLOWS AT A HIGH RATE CAUSING EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD IN TRAFFIC, MUST PULL OFF INTERSTATE TURN CAR OFF TO RESET, HAPPENING 2-3 TIMES A DAY, STRONG SMELL OF GAS, HAVE A LEAK AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY, SOONER OR LATER SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE CRUISING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND THEIR SATURN IS GOING TO REDUCE ENGINE POWER AND THEY WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO GET OUT OF THE WAY, THEY WILL BE PLOWED DOWN BY A SEMI. ARE WE GOING TO CONTINUE TO ALLOW GM TO IGNORE THIS ISSUE LIKE THEY IGNORED THE IGNITION SWITCH PROBELMS UNTIL IT STARTS CAUSING DEATHS, WHY NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE BEFORE THE DEATHS START TO OCCUR, IT SEEMS THE OLDER THESE YEAR MODELS GET THE WORSE THIS PROBLEM BECOMES. I WAS FORCED TO PUT A DATE, BUT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT IS GETTING INCREASINGLY WORSE WITH THE FUEL LEAK, MAYBE ONE DAY THE ENGINE WILL REDUCE POWER AT THE SAME TIME I WILL GET RUN OVER BY A SEMI AND THE CAR WILL EXPLODE INTO FLAMES FROM THE FUEL LEAK THEY ARE NOT RECALLING FOR MY VEHICLE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SATURN ION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. OCCASIONALLY, THE KEY WOULD BECOME STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC GMC/BUICK IN MONTGOMERY, AL WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED IN 2014 PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SATURN ION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A FUEL ODOR EMITTED THROUGH THE VENTS. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THE FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT CALLED SCHMIDT CHEVROLET CADILLAC (3423 BROADWAY ST, MT VERNON, IL 62864, PHONE NUMBER: (618) 242-5100) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED IF THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. *LN
DOOR WILL NOT OPNE FORM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE
THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SLOWED BUT ENGINE DID NOT STOP APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION ON A TOWN ROAD. DAYS LATER IT STALLED AGAIN ON A TOWN ROAD. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ANOTHER LIGHT FLASHED. IN BOTH CASES STOPPING THE ENGINE AND TURNING IT BACK ON REMEDIED THE ISSUE AND CLEARED THE LIGHTS. WHILE IN MOTION ON A COUNTRY HIGHWAY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING FROM ON AND OFF ALTHOUGH THERE WAS ONLY MY POCKETBOOK IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. REMOVING THE BAG DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. STOPPING AND TURNING OFF THE IGNITION CLEARED THE PROBLEM.THE CAR LOST POWER AGAIN ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. I MANAGED TO GET TO THE SHOULDER TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND THE PROBLEM SOLVED. THE CAR BEGAN CHIMING INSTEAD OF TICKING WHEN THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL WAS ON WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS EXITING FROM A HIGHWAY. THE SEAT BELT LIGHT CAME ON AT THAT TIME AS WELL. THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS REMAINED ON FOR SEVERAL DAYS NOW. THIS LAST OCCURRENCE WAS YESTERDAY AUGUST 8, 2017. I AM AFRAID THAT THE CAR MAY STALL WHILE IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE, OR THE OUTSIDE. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR A PERSON WITH CHF AND KNEE ISSUES TO EXIT. NOT TO MENTION, IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT.
I'VE HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH. ONE OF THE TIMES GM PAID FOR IT DUE TO A RECALL WITHIN MONTHS THE CAR WAS BACK INTO PASSLOCK LIGHT COMING ON CAR STALLING WHILE IN MOVEMENT KEY STUCK IN IGNITION HAVE TO WIGGLE IT TO GET IT BACK INTO THE TURN OFF POSITION. THIS LAST TIME AS OF TODAY THE CAR WILL NOT RUN YOU HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THE KEY OUT OF A LOCK THE PASSLOCK IS SHOWING ON THE CAR DASHBOARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING AT 3 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A FUEL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE FUEL LINES DUE TO THE MATERIAL IN THE FUEL LINES HAVING ROTTED AND FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO SPOKE TO HERB CHAMBERS CADILLAC OF WARWICK LOCATED AT 1511 BALD HILL RD, WARWICK, RI 02886, WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TOW THE VEHICLE OVER TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED UNDER A POTENTIAL WARRANTY EXTENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,656.

THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (KLEIN CHEVROLET BUICK LOCATED AR 111 W MADISON ST CLINTONVILLE, WI 54929 715-309-5708), BUT COULD NOT BE SERVICED BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,272.
WHILE DRIVING THE IGNITION SHUTS OFF KILLING POWER TO THE STEERING AND BRAKES
I NOTICED THAT MY CAR SMELLED LIKE GAS, AND THEN WHEN I PARKED AND GOT OUT I SAW A PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER MY CAR. MY CAR IS THE SATURN ION 'REDLINE' FOR SOME REASON I CAN'T PULL UP MY CAR ONLY A REGULAR SATURN ION BUT MY CAR IS DIFFERENT. I COULD TELL THE GAS WAS COMING FROM THE TOP OF MY TANK. WHEN I DROPPED THE TANK I COULD SEE THAT THE FUEL LINES ON MY FUEL PUMP WERE BROKEN! THE LINES WERE BROKE RIGHT AT THE PUMP. ON THE SATURN AND REDLINE FORUM I SEE THAT MY CAR ISN'T THE ONLY REDLINE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM MY CAR ONLY HAS APPROX 137000 MILES ON IT, THE FUEL PUMP SHOULD NOT HAVE BROKE LIKE THAT. THERE IS RECALLS ON SOME SATURN IONS IN CERTAIN STATES FOR THE FUEL PUMP LINES BREAKING JUST LIKE MINE DID. MY CAR WAS PUT TOGETHER IN TENNESSEE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN 2006 IN NEW JERSEY AND NOW I LIVE IN KENTUCKY. I DON'T BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW FUEL PUMP WHEN THIS PROBLEM IS OBVIOUSLY NOT JUST LIMITED TO SATURN IONS IN ARIZONA AND NEVADA. MY KIDS AND MYSELF GOT SICK FROM THE GAS FUMES AND WE'RE LUCKY NOT TO OF HAD SOME SORT OF SPARK HIT THE PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER MY CAR.

THE DRIVER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE FACE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
I HYDRAPLAINED, DID A 360 AND GOT HIT HEAD ON. I HAD MY SET BELT ON, BUT IT DID NOT CATCH AND LOCK IN PLACE, AND THE AIR BAG DID NOT INFLATE....TO STOP ME FROM HITTING TO REAR VIEW MIRROR WITH MY HEAD, MY CHEST ON THE SHEARING WHEEL AND MY LEGS WITH THE UNDER PART OF THE DASH...I WAS ON A MAIN HWY...I DO NOT HAVE THE POLICE REPORT , BUT I DO HAVE A FEW PICTURE..
POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE TRAVELING TO SHOPING CENTER.WHEN RESTARTING POWER STEERING LIGHT WENT OFF AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME.BUT DANGEROUS SINCE POWER STEERING INTERMITTED COMES ON.IT HAPPENED WHILE GETTING BACK INTO CAR AFTER TURNING ON IGNITION SWITCH.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V419000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,331.
STRONG SMELL OF FUEL AT REAR OF CAR AFTER DRIVING, AND WHILE PARKED AND RUNNING. I NOTED THE RECALL NOTICE AFFECTING THESE CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, WHEN I SEARCHED, I FOUND THAT THIS RECALL DID NOT AFFECT MY VIN NUMBER. THIS CAR IS A SPECIAL RARE VERSION OF THIS TYPE OF CAR CALLED THE "REDLINE" EDITION, AND SO THE VIN MAY NOT COME UP AUTOMATICALLY, AS ONLY ABOUT 600 WERE MADE THAT YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS AT 200,000.
PREVIOUSLY FIXED RECALL HAS FAILED. IGNITION DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. CAR REMAINS RUNNING AFTER KEY IS REMOVED. KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION.
IN OCTOBER OF LAST YEAR (2016) I STARTED SMELLING GAS REALLY BAD SO I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND HAD IT CHECKED OUT (MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY). THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED RIGHT AWAY AND IN MY MIND ALL I WAS THINKING WAS MY CAR COULD CATCH ON FIRE SO I HAD THEM REPAIR IT RIGHT AWAY( $437.79). LATER I FIND OUT THAT IS UNDER A SPECIAL COVERAGE RECALL AND IT COULD ONLY BE REPAIRED BY THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIRS TO BE COVERED. I CONTACTED CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS TOLD TO SUBMIT THE PAPERWORK AND THEY WOULD CHECK INTO IT . I SUBMITTED PAPERWORK IN JANUARY 2017 AND HAVE WAITED FOR RESPONSE , NOW IN MARCH 2017 I DECIDE TO CONTACT THEM BECAUSE I HAVE HAD NO NEED THEY TELL ME THAT MY REQUEST WAS DENIED BECAUSE THE REIMBURSEMENT CAMPAIGN ENDED IN 2014. I WAS TOLD THAT IF I HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPAIR IT AT THE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR IS 11 YEARS OLD AND 104,050 MILES ON IT. I WOLD HOPE THAT THE PUMP WOULD LAST LONGER THAN A FEW THOUSAND MILES BECAUSE FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND IT HAS A MILEAGE CAP. SO IN SHORT I AM OUT ALMOST $500.00 .
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING. I HAD THE REPLACEMENT PART DONE. 2 YEARS LATER THE POWER STEERING REPLACEMENT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND I CALLED GM. THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING. THEY NEED TO RECALL THE RECALL. DO I HAVE TO REPLACE MY POWER STEERING EVERY 2 YEARS. VERY UPSETTING

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING. THE VEHCILE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V419000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SATURN ION. UPON ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMALLY STRONG FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK, THE FUEL LINES WERE CORRODED, AND THE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL TANK MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,900.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGES FLUCTUATED, AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER DRIVEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
FUEL LEAKING FROM THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SATURN ION. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,400. UPDATED 10/19/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING LOCKED UP. SHE HAD TO REDUCE HER SPEED INTO ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONSUMER TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, AND THE STEERING RESET IT SELF. THE CONSUMER HAS SINCE EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR INCIDENT. UPDATED 11/03/16.*JB
MY CAR HAS A GAS LEAK.
SATURN ION RECALL ON FUEL PUMP MODULE; I AM WRITING DUE TO THE RECALL THAT REPLACES THE FUEL PUMP MODULE, BUT DOES NOT REPLACE THE FUEL LINES. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE RECALL DOES NOT COVER TO REPLACE BOTH FUEL LINES AND MODULE, CONSIDERING THEY ARE BOTH AFFECTED AND ARE A HIGH RISK FACTOR. AFTER REPLACING MY MODULE, MY CAR LEAKED MORE FUEL BECAUSE MY FUEL LINES WERE IN SUCH BAD SHAPE, AND AT THE TIME I COULD NOT AFFORD TO REPLACE MY FUEL LINES. I COULD THEN ONLY DRIVE MY CAR TO MY HOUSE FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND LEAVE IT SINCE IT IS FAR TO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE UNTIL I CAN SAVE UP ENOUGH MONEY TO REPLACE THE FUEL LINES.
A WEEK AGO, MY CAR WOULDN'T START ON THE FIRST TRY, BUT DID START ON THE SECOND. AS I DROVE AROUND TOWN THAT DAY RUNNING ERRANDS (MULTIPLE STOPS/STARTS), I BEGAN TO SMELL GAS AS I WALKED AROUND THE BACK OF THE CAR. THE NEXT TIME I DROVE THE CAR WAS 3 DAYS AGO; EVERY TIME I TRIED TO START THE CAR IT TOOK 2 TRIES, AND THE GAS SMELL NEAR THE BACK OF THE CAR WAS WORSE. I ALSO BEGAN TO SMELL A STRONG GAS SMELL AS I LOADED BAGS INTO THE TRUNK. YESTERDAY, I EXPERIENCED ALL OF THOSE ISSUES, PLUS I HAD TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS OPEN BECAUSE THE GAS SMELL WAS NOW VERY BAD INSIDE THE CAR. WHEN I PARKED AT THE SUPERMARKET, I WAS ABLE TO SEE A SMALL AMOUNT OF GAS ON THE RAIN-WET PAVEMENT, COMING FROM JUST AHEAD OF THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE PROGRESSION OF THE LEAK WAS FAST - OVER 7 DAYS, AND ONLY ABOUT 70 MILES DRIVEN (I DRIVE <5,000 MI / YR). I WENT ONLINE TO RESEARCH THE PROBLEM, AND FOUND GM RECALL #090226 / NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID# 09V419000, WHICH PERFECTLY DESCRIBES WHAT'S HAPPENING. I'M PLANNING TO CALL GM TOMORROW ABOUT THIS, BUT I EXPECT TO BE DISAPPOINTED, SINCE MY CAR WAS NOT PURCHASED OR REGISTERED IN ANY OF THE STATES LISTED IN THE RECALL. IT SHOULDN'T MATTER WHERE I BOUGHT OR REGISTERED MY SATURN; IF MY CAR DEMONSTRATES THE SAME DEFECT, THE REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM. I ALSO FOUND A SCARY NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES FROM OTHER SATURN OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS, BUT ARE ALSO NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. HOW MANY IS 'ENOUGH' FOR GM TO EXPAND THE RECALL? GM'S FAILURE TO ADDRESS *ALL* OF THE CARS AFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM IS APPALLING AND DANGEROUS.
THE ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT!!! IT WILL COST OVER $700.00 TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED AND WE DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY!!!
I STARTED SMELLING GASOLINE AND SEEN THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS PART OF A RECALL. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR A FEW MONTHS AND IT CAME FROM FLORIDA WHICH WAS ONE OF THE STATES IN THE RECALL.
I WAS IN CALIFORNIA DRIVING ON A CURVING MOUNTAIN ROAD IN LAKE ARROWHEAD- IT WAS DARK. I VEERED OFF THE ROAD INTO A TREE. I DON'T HAVE A CLEAR MEMORY OF MUCH AFTER THAT.THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY FACE BROKE THE WINDSHIELD. I HAD MY SEAT BELT IMPROPERLY FASTENED. I SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION AND BROKE LEFT NASAL BONE AND SEPTUM DEEP LACERATIONS UNDER LEFT EYE ACROSS TOP OF NOSE. PARAMEDICS TOOK ME LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE THEY THOUGHT I'D BETTER GO DOWN TO A BIG HOSPITAL AND THEY SENT ME TO ARROWHEAD REGENCY HOSPITAL DOWN THE HILL IN SAN BRENARDINO.
MY CAR IS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE PLASTIC SUPPLY THAT CONNECTS THE TANK AND THE LINE. THIS ISSUE WAS RECALLED IN CERTAIN IONS OF THE SAME YEAR, BUT NOT FOR MY VIN DESPITE THE ISSUE BEING EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE RECALLED PART. I NOTICED A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE UNDER MY CAR AND OBSERVED A SUBSTANTIAL LEAK FROM THE SUPPLY WHILE MY CAR WAS IDLING AND AFTER SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF. UNSURE IF IT IS ALSO LEAKING WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF AND COLD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SATURN ION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,141.
RE THE 2013 FUEL SYSTEM RECALL. PARTS CRACKED AND FUEL LEAKED. GM RECALLED AND PROMISED TO REPLACE SYSTEM. MY VEHICLE BEGAN LEADING IN MAY OF 2016. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHERE IT HAS SAT FOR ONE MONTH. DEALER UNABLE TO GET FUEL FILLER ASSEMBLY PART 15918244 FROM GM AND GM MAKING NO PROMISES ABOUT FIXING IT OR GETTING THE PART. THEY HAVE SAID THE PROBLEM MAY OR MAY NOT EVER BE RESOLVED. THEY CLAIM THE SUPPLIER MAY BE ABLE TO SUPPLY BY MID-AUGUST. THEN THEY UPDATED IT TO MAYBE IN SEPTEMBER. IN THE MEANTIME, I HAVE TO RENT A CAR WITH NO END IN SIGHT. CAN;T GET DEFINITIVE ANSWER FROM GM REGARDING IF OR WHEN PART WILL BE DELIVERED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND THE CONTACT WAS STILL REQUIRED TO MAKE A PARTIAL PAYMENT. THE CONTACT ASKED FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE, BUT HER REQUEST WAS DENIED. THE CONTACT HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITH IT LEAKING FUEL. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY. THE DEALER MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR CERTAIN PARTS UNDER A WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT DISCLOSE A LOT OF INFORMATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CONTACT WAS SPEAKING WITH HER ATTORNEY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND STARTED SMELLING GASOLINE FUMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED. LOOKED ONLINE AND SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP MODULE BUT ONLY IN CERTAIN STATES. THIS CAR CAME FROM FLORIDA BUT WAS PURCHASED IN KENTUCKY. IM REALLY GETTING SCARED TO DRIVE MY OWN CAR OUT OF FEAR IT MAY IGNITE AND CAUSE A FIRE OR MAYBE EVEN BLOW UP. PLEASE I NEED HELP WITH SOME KIND OF RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED! THERE IS A VERY STRONG SMELL OF FUEL - SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING, BUT MOST OFTEN AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF - INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND INSIDE THE TRUNK. I BELIEVE IT MAY ALSO BE LEAKING A SMALL AMOUNT OF GASOLINE. THE SMELL IS VERY STRONG AND DEFINITELY NOTICEABLE, AND I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THERE IS IN FACT A LEAK IN THE FUEL SYSTEM SOMEWHERE, THAT A FIRE MAY START FROM A STRAY SPARK, ETC. THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2006 SATURN IONS SOLD AND REGISTERED IN ARIZONA AND NEVADA DUE TO FOR POSSIBLE CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC SUPPLY OR RETURN PORT ON THE MODULAR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY (NHTSA CAMPAIGN 09V419000). MY CAR WAS BOUGHT AND REGISTERED IN ILLINOIS, SO IT DOES NOT APPLY. WHY WOULD CARS IN ALL 50 STATES NOT BE COVERED - IF IT HAS TO DO WITH HEAT, I WOULD THINK THAT YOU WOULD BE MORE CONCERNED FOR VEHICLES IN STATES THAT HAVE VARIABLE TEMPERATURES, SINCE THAT COULD CAUSE PLASTIC TO CRACK, TOO. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE - WHICH HAS LOW MILEAGE FOR ITS AGE - AND I HAVE TRIED TO MAINTAIN MY VEHICLE SO I CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS NOT CAUSED BY ME, BUT A KNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER AT NO COST.

ON MARCH 9,2016 MY DAUGHTER DROVE TO THE STORE FROM MY WORK PLACE. WHEN SHE RETURN TO MY JOB WHILE IN THE PARKING LOT THE STIRRING WHEEL LOCKED AND SHE COULDN'T TURN. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME $50 AND TOLD ME IT WASN'T THE RECALL PART. SO I HAD TO PAY TO GET NEW GAS LINES.
