TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY VEERED TO THE LEFT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NEARLY CRASH INTO A CEMENT MEDIAN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH OUR 2 CHILDREN, WHEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON, AND LOST STEERING. SHE WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE THE CAR INTO A PARKING LOT. SHE RESTARTED VEHICLE AND ISSUE WENT AWAY TEMPORARILY. IT IS NOW HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. COMES AND GOES. *TR
I HAD JUST MADE A RIGHT TURN INTO A SIDE STREET AND WAS PROCEEDING DOWN A SLIGHT HILL WHEN I HEARD THREE QUICK TONES FROM THE DASHBOARD. A MESSAGE THAT THE POWER STEERING HAD FAILED APPEARED WHERE THE ODOMETER IS ON THE DASH. I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE CAR TO THE CURB. I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE POWER STEERING FUNCTIONED AGAIN. THE SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ONCE IN EACH OF THE THREE DAYS FOLLOWING THAT INITIAL INCIDENT. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXPECTED DATE FOR WHEN THE REMEDY PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE POWER STEERING AND ALARM WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND A CHIME SOUNDED. THERE WAS ALSO A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING STRUT WAS FRACTURED. THE POWER STEERING COLUMN FAILED AND WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURES RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED CODE C0550 (FAILURE OF POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,195.
WHEN TRYING TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, THE KEY GETS STUCK AND CANNOT MOVE KEY BACK TO PARK POSITION. MOVING THE SHIFTER BACK AND FORTH AND REPARKING HAD TEMPORARILY ALLOWED ME TO PULL THE KEY OUT. MONTHS LATER, WE CANNOT PULL KEY OUT OF IGNITION IT IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I WAS TOLD WE NEED A NEW SHIFTER BY THE DEALER. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE SHIFT CABLE ASSEMBLY AND MOUNTING BRACKET, BUT OF COURSE, NOT FOR THE SATURN ION 2007 MODEL. GM STINKS!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14E021000 (IGNITION SWITCH). AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD NOT EXPERIENCED THESE FAILURES UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN BLOWS WITHOUT BEING DEPRESSED AND THE DOORS DID NOT LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE REMEDY FOR THE RECALL DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN REGARDS TO CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V-047. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE TWICE, ONCE ON 3/13/14 AND THE OTHER ON 3/14/14. BOTH TIMES THE REP STATED THAT A MESSAGE WAS LEFT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I ALSO CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ON 3/13/14 IN THE EVENING AND 3/14/14 DURING THE DAY. I LEFT MESSAGES BOTH TIMES. I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I REALIZE THERE MAY BE A HIGH VOLUME OF CALLS DUE TO THE RECALL. BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED A SOLUTION WHAT SO EVER. GM STATED THEY WOULD PROVIDE A LOANER CAR IN NEWS RELEASES AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AND THE GMC DEALERSHIP HAVE DONE NOTHING TO HELP PUT A LOANER IN PLACE. I DRIVE MY CAR FOR WORK ON A DAILY BASIS AND DO NOT HAVE THE MEANS OR ACCESS TO ANOTHER CAR. THE BOTTOM LINE IS YOU WOULD THINK THAT SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN FATALITIES AND MANY ACCIDENTS RELATED TO THIS RECALL THAT IT WOULD BE A PRIORITY TO ADDRESS MY CONCERN. I'M VERY DISSATISFIED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH THERE WAS A SUDDEN INCREASE IN ACCELERATION AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A BRICK WALL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE IGNITION KEY INDEPENDENTLY RELEASED FROM THE SWITCH PRIOR TO THE CRASH. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT UNEXPECTEDLY DETACHED WHICH CAUSED THE DRIVER TO STRIKE THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURY TO THE CHEST AND HEAD. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE WAS A RELATED TO THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V047000 (AIR BAGS , ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE THE RECALL NOTICE UNTIL AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,600.

CRACKED FUEL PUMP HOUSING. *TR
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY 2007 SATURN ION IN MARCH 2014. THE RECALL NOTICE IS FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH, IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER AND IGNITION KEY. I CALL MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE REPAIRING CARS AS THE PARTS CAME IN AND I WAS PUT ON A LIST. THEY TOLD ME THE PARTS SHOULD BE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL. I CALLED 2 WEEKS LATER AND THE DEALERSHIP STILL HADN'T RECEIVED THE PARTS TO FIX THE RECALL AND IN APRIL 2014 I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FROM GM TO HAVE THE REPAIRS TO MY CAR. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE PARTS AND THEY STILL DIDN'T HAVE THEM. WEEKS LATER I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO HAVE SOME WORK DONE ON MY CAR AND I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEY TOLD ME IT SHOULD BE ANOTHER COUPLE WEEKS. I CALLED BACK IN 2 WEEKS AND WAS TOLD THEY STILL DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS. I CALLED BACK IN ANOTHER 2 WEEKS AND WAS TOLD THE PROTOCALL FOR THE RECALL HAD CHANGED AND THAT THEY WERE ORDERING THE PARTS BASED ON THE VEHICLE VIN AND IT WAS A CAR BY CAR BASIS. SO I ORDERED MY PARTS THIS WAY AROUND THE END OF APRIL. IT IS NOW JUNE I STILL HAVEN'T HAD MY CAR FIXED AND JUST RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM GM THAT I HAVEN'T HAD THE REPAIRS TO MY CAR. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS. IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS SINCE MY FIRST RECALL NOTICE AND STILL HAVEN'T HAD MY CAR REPAIRED. I AM SO UPSET AT THE WAY THIS WHOLE SITUATION HAS BEEN HANDLED AND I FIND IT UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NOT ALLOW THE KEY TO BE REMOVED. THE CAR WAS RUNNING. WE HAD TO CALL A LOCKSMITH TO GET THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION AND REPAIR THE IGNITION SWITCH. I TOOK THE PROPER PAPER WORK TO JOHNNY LONDOFF CHEVROLET IN FLORISSANTT, MO. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE PAPER WORK TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRED IGNITION SWITCH. THE RECALL LETTER INDICATES THAT THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE REIMBURSED BY DEALER/GM. THE GM HOTLINE WAS NOTIFIED SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS TOLD TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE PAPER WORK AND DID NOT PROVIDE A LETTER INDICATING WHY THE REPAIRS WOULD BE DISALLOWED. THE COST FOR THE REPAIRS WAS 375.00. ANOTHER MONTH WENT BY, AND SHE RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER. A FEW DAYS AGO, SHE RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER. WHEN SHE CONTACTED THE DEALER, SHE WAS INFORMED THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *JB
LETTER FROM SENATOR WARNER ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE SATURN ION RECALL (ATTN: SHANE CLEM). *SMD THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN THE PARTS DID ARRIVE, HE WAS INFORMED THE MACHINE WAS BROKEN. THERE WAS A RECALL, REGARDING A STEERING ISSUE AS WELL. THE CONSUMER HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALER, BECAUSE HE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E021000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I HEARD ON TV THAT GM HAD RECALLED THE ION BECAUSE OF DEATHS ASSOCIATED WITH FIRES FROM LEAKING FUEL MODULES AND FAILING IGNITION SWITCHES. SO, I CALLED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL ONLY FIX THE THE IGNITION IF IT FAILS AND THE FUEL MODULE WHEN YOU CAN SHOW IT IS LEAKING. IT SEEMS LIKE IF THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR PARTS THEY SHOULD TRY TO FIX THEM PRIOR TO STALLING ON THE FREEWAY OR HAVING THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES FROM LEAKING FUEL. AM I OFF BASE HERE? *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. I PULLED OVER TO A NEARBY SHOP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND WAS TOLD TO RESTART THE CAR. THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. FAST FORWARD TO THE LAST 2 WEEKS (TODAY IS 5-JUNE-14) AND THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 10 TIMES. NOW BEING THIS IS THE SAME SYSTEM THAT WAS USED ON THE CHEVY COBALT AND PONTIAC G5, BOTH OF WHICH WERE SUBJECT TO RECALLS FOR REPLACEMENT, I DON'T KNOW WHY MY ION WAS RECALLED AND THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I HAVE TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCES AT TIMES AND FOR MY POWER STEERING TO FAIL WHILE I'M ON THE HIGHWAY FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING OVER A BUMP APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE EMITTED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPORADICALLY. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS INELIGIBLE UNDER THE RECALL DUE TO NOT ORIGINALLY BEING REGISTERED OR CURRENTLY SOLD IN ONE OF THE STATES MENTIONED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.

WHEN I LEFT MY VEHICLE WITH THE GM DEALERSHIP THEY CALLED AFTER A FEW HOURS STATING THEY REPLACED THE FUEL SYSTEM AND I WAS GOOD TO GO. A FEW DAYS LATER MY CAR SMELLED LIKE GAS AGAIN, SO I TOOK IT BACK. THE MANAGER CALLED ME STATING, "MY FUEL TANK WAS CRACKED". I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE AND LEFT. IF MY FUEL TANK WAS CRACKED THEY WOULD HAVE RELATED THAT INFORMATION THE FIRST TIME. I HONESTLY BELIEVE THIS IS A GM ISSUE, BECAUSE I GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND A LOT OF CONSUMERS WITH MY MODEL CAR HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

2007 SATURN ION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO IGNITION SWITCH RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE-CAR ACCIDENT ON DECEMBER 13, 2013, TOTALING THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER BRAKED, SO SHE BRAKED. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER HYDROPLANED AND HIT A WIRE FENCE IN THE MIDDLE OF 2 HIGHWAYS. IT TORE THE BUMPERS OFF THE VEHICLE, DAMAGED THE FRONT AND REAR WINDOWS, AND SLICED THE TIRED. THERE WAS A LARGE DENT ON TOP OF THE VEHICLE. EVEN AFTER ALL OF THE DAMAGE, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER WAS INJURED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE KEY WAS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. HOWEVER, IT WAS ALREADY IN THE OFF POSITION. LUCKILY THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A FAIRLY STRAIGHT STATE ROUTE. THE CAR'S ALERT SYSTEM DINGED THEN DISPLAYED AND ERROR OF "PWRSTEER". I COULD, AT SPEED, FEEL THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE. I MADE IT HOME AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR TO GO OUT LATER THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING FOR ABOUT 3 MILES, THEN THE CAR'S ALERT SYSTEM DINGED AND THE PWRSTEER MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN APPROXIMATELY 30 HOURS SINCE THE 1ST INCIDENT AND EVERY TIME I START THE CAR I HAVE POWER STEERING BUT THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT WITHIN 10 - 15 MINUTES OF ANY DRIVE. *TR

I LOST POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS (THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES BETWEEN MID-NOVEMBER AND EARLY DECEMBER) I WAS BARELY ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD, SHUT IT DOWN AND RESTART IT - AT WHICH TIME THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING. IT WOULD THEN GO OUT AGAIN AS NOTED AND THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE CAME ON. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOME WATER DAMAGE AS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS RIGHT AFTER A CAR WASH SO I FIGURED IT WOULD DRY OUT AND BE ALL RIGHT. IT SEEMED THAT WAY UNTIL IT RECURRED AGAIN. I THEN BROUGHT IT IN TO WALLACE CHEVROLET IN STUART FL FOR REPAIR. I WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT THIS REPAIR WAS AT NO CHARGE. MY CAR IS 7 YEARS OLD BUT THE POWER STEERING MOTOR CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AT N/C PART 19257875. IT APPEARS THE COMPANY KNEW OF THE PROBLEM AND HAD A PROGRAM FOR IT BUT DID NOT NOTIFY OWNERS. FRANKLY I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON I-95. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER OFF THE HIGHWAY AT THOSE SPEEDS AND NO POWER STEERING. IT STILL FRIGHTENS ME WHEN I THINK ABOUT THIS. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE WE HAD ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THE IGNITION KEY WHICH WE CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT AND WERE REASSURED THAT IT WAS NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN, SUBSEQUENTLY WE ALLOWED MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER'S DAUGHTER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO COLLEGE WITH HER AS SHE NEEDED A FORM OF TRANSPORTATION AT SCHOOL. ON BLACK FRIDAY, 2013 SHE ENCOUNTERED A MINOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN A PARKING LOT WHERE IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I HAVE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND REQUESTED A COURTESY VEHICLE FOR HER WHICH THEY HAD AGREED TO PROVIDE THROUGH THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S WEB SITE AND THEY STATE ONE EXCUSE AFTER ANOTHER WHY THEY CANNOT DO THIS. GENERAL MOTORS HAS EXHIBITED A COMPLETE LACK OF ANY CONCERN FOR THE DRIVER'S SAFETY AND THEY ARE NOW AT THE POINT WHERE THEY WANT MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER TO DRIVE 500 MILES ACROSS STATE PICK UP HER VEHICLE, TAKE IT TO A DEALER AND PICK UP A RENTAL CAR, WHICH WILL COST HER A $50 DEPOSIT AND WHEN THE REPAIR, WHICH IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT, IS FINALLY COMPLETED SHE SHOULD DO THIS ALL OVER AGAIN WITHOUT ANY COMPENSATION FROM GM. MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING TO SEE FAMILY FOR THANKSGIVING. ABOUT 100 MILES INTO THE TRIP THE POWER STEERING INDICATOR CAME ON THE DASH AND A BEEP SOUNDED. AS I WAS HEADING HOME FROM WORK, ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY HOME ON THE FREEWAY THERE WAS A LOUD "BANG" AND A JOLT IN THE CAR THAT WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A HIGH PITCH "SQUEALING" SOUND. I GOT OFF AT THE NEAREST EXIT AND TOOK OTHER ROADS HOME AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. THE SQUEALING CONTINUED THE ENTIRE WAY HOME, BUT WOULD STOP WHEN I HAD TO STOP AT LIGHTS. AS I WAS TURNING ONTO MY STREET, A BATTERY LIGHT ERROR CAME ON THE DASHBOARD AND MY CAR SIMPLY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START. I WAS TOWED HOME AND DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS. ON THE 3RD DAY I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP THE CAR WITH ANOTHER CAR AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE ENGINE TO START, BUT IMMEDIATELY A DIFFERENT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A DIFFERENT LOUD SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE NEW SOUND WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL SQUEALING. AFTER OPENING THE HOOD, I FOUND A LARGE METAL "CHUNK" WAS LYING ON TOP OF THE ENGINE COVER AND A HOLE HAD BEEN MADE FROM WHERE IT CAME OUT OF THE ENGINE BAY FROM. THE ONLY THING I CAN GATHER IS THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A TIMING CHAIN FAILURE, BECAUSE THE ONLY THING PRECEDING THE INCIDENT WAS A VERY FAINT CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM SOMEWHERE BENEATH THE HOOD. *TR
MY SATURN HAD BEEN IDLING ROUGHLY FOR ABOUT A WEEK. I CHECKED THE OIL IT SEEMED LOW AND I PUT MORE OIL IN. IT SEEMED A LITTLE BETTER. THE CHECK OIL LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON IN THIS CAR. AFTER TAKING THE CAR DOWN AND BACK TO MY PARENTS IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. TWO CAR DEALERS HAVE TOLD ME IT IS THE TIMING CHAIN AND THAT IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE WITH PARTS AND LABOR 25,00.00 DOLLARS. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2011 IN OCTOBER. I NOW HAVE A CAR I HAVE TO KEEP MAKING PAYMENTS ON TO KEEP MY CREDIT RATING SAFE BUT I CAN'T DRIVE. SO FAR GMC AND THE DEALERS HAVE BEEN UNHELPFUL WITH GETTING MY CAR REPAIRED. I CAN'T AFFORD 2500. DOLLARS. I WENT TO THE BBB AND WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR AGED OUT OF THE COMPLAINT SYSTEM. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I DEPRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE AND IMMEDIATELY DIED. I TURNED THE KEY IN AN ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES; THE CAR ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER BUT IMMEDIATELY DIE. I WAS STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. I CALLED 911 FOR HELP SO THAT I COULD GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION AND NOT GET HIT BY ONCOMING CARS. POLICE RESPONDED AND MOVED MY CAR; I THEN WAITED FOR A TOW TRUCK, AND HAD CAR TOWED. AT THE REPAIR SHOP, THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A BAD FUEL PUMP. UPON REPLACEMENT OF FUEL PUMP, CAR WOULD NOT START; ACCORDING TO INVOICE REPORT, THEY THEN REMOVED GAS TANK AND FOUND "NO POWER TO FUEL PUMP MODULE" AND THEN "INSPECTED HARNESS" AND FOUND "INTERNAL OPEN WIRES AT POWER SIDE" AND "NEED TO REPLACE UPPER FUEL PUMP" AS WELL. *TR
NOVEMBER 10TH AT 4:50 PM I LEFT THE GROCERY STORE I PULLED INTO GARAGE AT 5PM PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND THE KEY WOULD NOT MOVE IN THE IGNITION SO THE CAR WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I OPENED MANUAL TO PAGE 105-106 AND TRIED THE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE AND THAT DID NOT WORK. I CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS ALREADY CLOSED AND WERE GOING TO BE CLOSED THE NEXT DAY ON VETERANS DAY. SO I PLACED A CALL TO AAA AND THEY HAD TO SEND OUT A LOCK SMITH TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND REPLACE THE IGNITION. 3 HOURS AND $275 DOLLARS LATER BECAUSE AAA COVERS $100 OF IT MY CAR WAS FIXED. THIS IS NOT A SAFE THING TO OCCUR IN A VEHICLE. I GOOGLED THIS AND SAW THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS. *TR

TOP OF FUEL PUMP CRACKED AND LEAKED GAS FUMES IN CAR. GAS LEAKED OUT OF CAR AS IT WAS DRIVEN. FAULTY FUEL PUMP PROBLEM THAT WAS RECALLED IN A FEW OTHER STATES. FAMILY MEMBER HAS SMELLING PROBLEM DUE TO PAST SURGERY AND COULD NOT REALIZE GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE CAR. MECHANIC STATED THAT FUEL PUMP SHOULD NEVER HAVE CRACKED IN THIS AREA AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A MUCH WORSE SCENARIO. *TR
