PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT ENABLE WITH ADULTS (>120 LBS) IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. PRIOR RECALL FOR CONNECTOR UNDER SEAT WAS COMPLETED WHEN ISSUED. DEALER DIAGNOSIS OF CODE FOR "PASSENGER PRESENCE" MODULE FAIL, WITH RECOMMENDATION OF REPLACEMENT OF PASSENGER PRESENCE SEAT ASS'Y AT COST OF $960 - NOT YET COMPLETED. ELEVATED TO GM CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE. APPEARS TO BE A CHRONIC, ~500 PPM ISSUE ON THE 2007-2008 MODEL YEARS OF THE GM LAMBDA PLATFORM (SATURN OUTLOOK, GMC ACADIA, AND BUICK ENCLAVE). RESEARCH OF NHTSA COMPLAINTS AGAINST POSTED SALES QUANTITIES SHOWS THAT THIS ISSUE CONTINUES INTO 2015 FOR THE 2007-08 MODELS, WITH VIRTUALLY NO ISSUES FOR 2009 AND NEWER MODEL YEAR VEHICLES....UPDATED 09/28/15 *BF UPDATED 11/08/2017*CN
ISSUES WITH THE 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK INCLUDE ONGOING ELECTRICAL ISSUES (LIGHTS INTERMITTENT FUNCTIONING, STABILITRACK, TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS ON INTERMITTENTLY, REMOTE START DOESN'T WORK, POWER LIFT GATE OPENS ON IT'S OWN, LIFT GATE SWITCH FAILED INTERNALLY), AIR INTAKE FILLED WITH OIL AND WATER MIX, WATER UNDER FUEL INDUCTION SERVICE, INTERMITTENTLY THE STABILITRACK WILL TURN OFF, MESSAGE SAYING 'ENGINE POWER REDUCED', CAR SHAKES, NO POWER AND REQUIRES COASTING TO SIDE OF ROAD. (THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE IS TEMPORARILY ADDRESSED BY TURNING THE CAR OFF, REMOVING THE KEYS, OPENING THE DOOR, WAITING FIVE MINUTES. THEN THE CAR STARTS BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON.) REQUIRED NEW THROTTLE BODY, REPLACING STRUTS, SWAY BAR LINK, SHOT AND/OR STRUT ASSEMBLY. RACK AND PINION, TIE RODS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MOST RECENTLY HAVING DIFFICULTIES WITH HARD SHIFTING, CEL AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ON, INTAKE BOOT FULL OF OIL, VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR UNTIL 4000RMP'S AND DOES THE SAME THING ON HIGHWAY IN 2ND GEAR. *TR
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON AN OFF RAMP, AND MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF. WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, IT MADE HORRIBLE NOISES AND WOULD NEVER STAY ON. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT'S POSSIBLY THE TIMING CHAIN. THERE IS A RECALL OF TIMING CHAINS EXCEPT IT'S 120,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS, WHICH COMES FIRST. MY CAR HAS 128,000 MILES ON IT AND IS NOT ELIGIBLE BY 8,000 MILES!!!!! THIS CAR HAS ALREADY HAD TOO MANY PROBLEMS, NOW GM KNOWS THERE IS A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE, THEY SHOULD NOT LIMIT THE REPLACEMENT ON THIS OR ANY OTHER ITEM THAT THEY KNOW IS FAULTY OR WILL BE A PROBLEM FOR ALL 2007 SATURNS. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XR AND MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON AT ALL TIMES AND MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WONT TURN ON NO MATTER WHO SITS IN IT OR ANY POSITION. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND FEEL THEIR SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK'S.
DRIVING IN SUB ZERO WEATHER, I DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY CAR LOST POWER AND NOW I FIND OUT, IT IS SOMETHING CALLED "LIMP" MODE. CAR WOULD NOT GO MORE THAN 35 MILES PER HOUR AND I HAD MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS COMING ONE. HOW DANGEROUS TO BE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES PER HOUR SEE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND SUDDENLY REALIZE YOU HAVE NO POWER. TRYING TO GET INTO THE OUTER LANE AND GET OFF THE HIGHWAY ALMOST COST ME MY LIFE. I WAS -20 DEGREES OUT THAT DAY. I FOUND THIS LISTED ON A WEB SITE, SOUND LIKE GM KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM ALREADY. I WORK WITH A GIRL THAT HAS A ACADIA. SHE SAW MY FACEBOOK POST ABOUT MY CAR. SHE WAS ALSO ON THE HIGHWAY THE SAME DAY I WAS AND HERE CAR WAS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING MY WAS. TWO CARS WITH LOSS OF POWER AT THE SAME TIME AND DAY. THIS IS DANGEROUS. THE BULLETIN APPLIES TO THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 3.6L ENGINE: 2008-11 BUICK ENCLAVE, 2007-11 CHEVROLET MALIBU, 2009-11 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE,2007-11 GMC ACADIA,2007-10 PONTIAC G6, 2007-09 SATURN AURA, 2007-10 SATURN OUTLOOK GM STATES THAT THE PROBLEM OCCURS AFTER A COLD START UP OR WHEN DRIVING IN COLD TEMPERATURES. IF YOU SCAN THE PCM, ICE FORMATION IS CAUSED BY CONDENSATION FREEZING AT THE BASE OF THE THROTTLE BODY WITH ADDITIONAL COLLECTION OF ICE FORMATION DEPOSITS IN THE AIR INLET DUCT. FREEZING CONDENSATION FORMS AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN AND THEN PARKED IN LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURES. OIL DEPOSITS ARE THE COLLECTION OF THE ENGINE VAPORS, FUEL DILUTION AND OIL MIST AT THE BASE OF THE THROTTLE BODY WITH ADDITIONAL FORMATION COLLECTING IN THE DUCT. *TR
SINCE FEB., THE ENGINE LIGHT ON MY SATURN HAS BEEN COMING ON/GOING OFF. SINCE THEN IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO READ THE OBD CODE AS P0017 AND CLEARED THE CODE. WE WERE TOLD TO REPLACE THE GAS CAP--WE BOUGHT A NEW ONE--ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON/BACK OFF. I BEGAN GOOGLING THIS AND FOUND THERE WERE MANY SATURN OWNERS WITH THIS ISSUE. FINALLY, JUST THIS PAST WEEK, I LEARNED THAT GM HAD INDEED ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT THIS--AFFECTING THE TIMING, WHICH IS ANOTHER ISSUE I WAS TOLD COULD BE THE PROBLEM. THEN, SINCE GM HAD HAD SO MANY COMPLAINTS, THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY/FIX, HOWEVER, THEY ONLY EXTENDED IT TO 120K MILES/10 YEARS, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. MY CAR IS NOT 10 YEARS, BUT, IT DOES HAVE OVER THE MILEAGE. MY QUESTION IS WHO DECIDES THESE MAGIC NUMBERS??? THIS SATURN HAS BEEN A LEMON TO SAY THE VERY LEAST! MAJOR FLOODING INSIDE THE CAR---WE REPAIRED IT WITH NO HELP FROM GM; THERMOSTAT FAILED--WE REPAIRED IT WITH NO HELP FROM GM; TRANSMISSION FAILED--WE REPLACED IT WITH NO HELP FROM GM; ETC.; ETC. YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THESE SERVICE BULLETINS (ONLY RECALLS), THEN ONCE YOU REALIZE YOU HAVE AN ISSUE AND TAKE IT IN, YOUR BEYOND THE MILEAGE. WE PURCHASED THIS SATURN DUE TO SO MANY FRIENDS WHO OWNED ONE AND SWORE BY IT!! THIS, AND THE FACT THAT IN OUR 45+ YEAR MARRIAGE, WE'VE ONLY OWNED GM PRODUCTS. BUT, NO MORE!!! THIS CURED US!!
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. CONSUMER REQUESTS AIR BAG ON-OFF SWITCH FOR VEHICLE DUE TO A MEDIAL CONDITION. *SMD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. DURING LOW CLIMATE WEATHER, THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION AND ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, BUT FAILED TO MOVE. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE STALLED. WHILE DRIVING DURING LOW TEMPERATURES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS OIL IN THE ENGINE AIR FLOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 172,000.
MY RIGHT HEAD LIGHT GOES OUT, I HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS TOO MANY TIMES AND THE HARNESS. MY STABILITY TRACK COMES ON AND I CAN LOOSE POWER THE FIRST TIME I WAS TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN ON THE HIGHWAY, AND BY GRACE OF GOD I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. THIS CAR IS BECOMING A NIGHTMARE AND I THINK WE SHOULD BE GIVEN SOME KIND OF COMPENSATION...PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES...THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR THE LAST 3YRS
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (14329) FROM GM AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2014. THE RECALL STATED: THIS LETTER IS INTENDED TO MAKE YOU AWARE THAT SOME 2007 MODEL YEAR SATURN OUTLOOK VEHICLES MAY DEVELOP A POWER STEERING PUMP WEAR CONDITION THAT CAN CAUSE AN INTERMITTENT DROP OF POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC PRESSURE THAT WILL CAUSE REDUCED OR LOSS OF STEERING ASSIST. THE VEHICLE MAY REVERT TO MANUAL STEERING WHICH REQUIRES GREATER DRIVER EFFORT, PARTICULARLY AT LOW VEHICLE SPEEDS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP IN DECEMBER. THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK YESTERDAY. AT FIRST THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THE LETTER WAS MORE OF "IF YOU WANT TO BUY A WARRANTY". I INFORMED HIM THAT THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BEEN MAKING A 'WHIRRING' SOUND AND TO INSPECT IT. OF COURSE THEY CALLED WITHIN AN HOUR TO STATE THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS BAD. THE VEHICLE ALSO NEEDED TO HAVE THE RACK AND PINION REPLACED, FRONT STRUTS REPLACED, AND A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE COST TO ME WAS $1800. ALL OF THIS IS A RESULT OF A DEFECTIVE GM PRODUCT. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY THEM. SHAME ON GM. I AM AWARE THAT THERE IS A GM RECALL ON THE 2009 AND NEWER TRAVERSE, ACADIA, AND ENCLAVE MODELS. THE SATURN MODELS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS TOO. *TR
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT LEAVING ME STRANDED - DURING A CHICAGO SNOW STORM. I'M BEING TOLD THAT IT'S THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN - ONLY NOW THE POWER TRAN WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. *TR
INFLATABLE RESTRAINT PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING. *TR
I HAD MY PASSENGER LOW BEAM LIGHT ALREADY FIXED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE LOW BEAM LIGHT MELT. NOW MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AND ITS THE SAME ISSUE AS BEFORE WITH THE WIRING HARNESS MELTING AND THE LIGHT NOT WORKING ON SOME DAYS AND THEN WORKING THE NEXT DAY OR LATER IN THE DAY WHEN I START THE CAR UP AGAIN. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY GM TO GET IT FIXED. I KNOW THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN PUT OUT FOR THE VEHICLE THAT EXPIRED DECEMBER 31, 2013. BOTH OF MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS HAVE STOPPED WORKING THIS YEAR. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 OUTLOOK XR WITH RE-OCCURRING HEADLIGHT ISSUES, UPON FURTHER TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE ISSUE AND REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF THE LOW BEAM BULBS NUMEROUS TIMES, I FOUND THE WIRING HARNESS AT THE CONNECTION POINT OF THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE MELTED THROUGH THE HARNESS THUS LEAVING EXPOSED WIRES. LIKE SO MANY HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS VERY SAME ISSUE WITH SATURN OUTLOOKS, THIS IS A VERY HIGH FIRE HAZARD AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUN ROOF SEALANT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK KEEPS MELTING THE HARNESSES FOR HEADLIGHTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. WHILE PARKED, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BODILY AND INTERNAL INJURIES TO THE LEFT SIDE OF HIS BODY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000. UPDATED 2/25/15*CN UPDATED 9/12/2017*CN
DRIVING HOME FROM THE STORE WHEN ENTERING A DANGEROUS INTERSECTION MY TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT. LUCKILY I HAD ENOUGH SPEED TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. UPON TAKING MY VEHICLE TO TWO DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS, I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE WAVE PLATE SHATTERED AND PIECES WERE NOW IN MY TRANSMISSION. I CALLED GM TO GET SOME FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SINCE MY VEHICLE HAD SUCH LOW MILEAGE. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL. AFTER SPEAKING TO THE OWNER OF THE TRANSMISSION SHOP AND DOING SOME ONLINE INVESTIGATING, IT APPEARS THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE WAVE PLATE IN THEIR SATURN OUTLOOK OR GM ACADIA. I FEEL THE WAVE PLATE IS DEFECTIVE AND THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE PUT IN PLACE SO NO ONE ELSE GETS HURT FROM THEIR TRANSMISSION GIVING OUT ON THEM. *JS
PURCHASED THIS 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK IN 2013 USED WITH ONLY AROUND 80K MILES ON IT. THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID TELL US ABOUT THE LEAKING AREAS ONCE THE DRAINS GET CLOGGED, MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN DILIGENT CLEANING THEM, BUT LIVING IN FLORIDA IT RAINS HEAVY ALL THE TIME. WE NOTICED MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY THE INSIDE DRIPPING IN THE 3RD ROW, UNTIL MANY TIMES, UNTIL THIS PAST NOVEMBER IT RAINED HEAVY FOR 2 DAYS AND THE WATER STARTED COMING THRU WHAT SEEMED TO BE FROM THE AC VENTS ON BOTH ROWS, AND THROUGH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WALLS VERY HEAVY, UPON LEAVING WORK WENT TO TURN OFF THE CAR TOOK KEYS OUT TWICE AND IT WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. SO NOW THERE IS THE ELECTRICAL AREAS BEING SOAKED, LET IT DRY OUT CLEANED DRAINS AGAIN, AND IT JUST SEEMS THE MORE RAIN WE HAVE THE MORE WATER COMES IN. RIGHT NOW CAR IS IN GARAGE SINCE WE HAD THE SAME SITUATION WITH RAIN AND NOW IT IS DRIPPING FROM EVERYWHERE.. AFRAID TO DRIVE CAR SINCE WE KNOW THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND WIRES ARE WET. I HAVE A TODDLER WHOM I HAD TO COVER WITH A TOWEL CAUSE WATER WAS DRIPPING ON HER. GM NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS, BEFORE IT CAUSED A FIRE AND COULD CAUSE DEATH TOO. TRACTION CONTROL ALERT WARNING ENGINE POWER REDUCED AND THE ENGINE TURNS OFF DISABLING THE VEHICLE THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS OTHER TIMES AND GM HAS HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS MORE THAN 5 TIMES AND LAST TIME CHARGED OVER $2000 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE WORK COMPLETELY. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK WHIS IS LEAKING WATER IN THROUGH WHAT I ASSUME IS THE SUNROOF. MY SON, WHO WAS SITTING IN THE THIRD ROW OF SEATING (BACK SEAT) NOTICED WATER LEAKING FROM THE DOME LIGHT. THE WATER WAS ALSO NOTICED IN OTHER AREAS OF THE VEHICLE THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE. I HAVE ALSO STARTED NOTICING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE NOT THAT THE RAIN HAS COME IN AS WELL AS WATER STAINS FROM OTHER SUCH ISSUES. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WARNING LAMP FOR THE AIR BAG INTERMITTENTLY KEPT GOING FROM OFF TO ON AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V062000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULE SENSOR UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT FAILED AND THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY IF THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I WENT OFF THE ROAD HITTING A CULVERT HEAD ON. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SEAT ON IMPACT BROKE OFF OF THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY THING THAT SAVED MY LIFE WAS MY SEATBELT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND AFTER THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THEIR DIAGNOSTICS, THEY FOUND THAT THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN THE SENSOR CODES. THE CODE SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER. AFTER RESEARCH I FOUND THAT PREVIOUSLY THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG MODULE. THIS HAD BEEN REPLACED. HOWEVER THE AIRBAG STILL DID NOT DEPLOY DURING THE FRONT IMPACT COLLISION. *JS
I HAVE BEEN NOTICING THAT MY DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOORS ARE GETTING SOAKED WITH WATER. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A MONTH. THE MAIN PROBLEM WAS THAT MY IT WAS JUST ABOVE FREEZING AND I HAD ICE BUILT UP ON THE INSIDE OF MY WINDSHIELD AND HAD TO WAIT TO GET IT TO DEFROST AND THEN DRY THE WINDSHIELD BEFORE I COULD DRIVE THE VEHICLE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE SUNROOF WAS LEFT CRACKED SO I TOOK THE FLOORMATS OUT AND DURING THE DAY, LEFT THE SUNROOF AND WINDOWS OPEN TO DRY OUT THE CAR. THIS DID NOT WORK OR SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK MY CAR TO A CAR WASH TODAY (11/9/14) AND WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE LOT, I WAS ON A SLIGHT DOWNWARD SLOPE TO STOP BEFORE ENTERING THE STREET. I NOTICED THAT WATER WAS COMING THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE A PILLAR WHERE THE AIRBAG LOGO IS AT. ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, WATER WAS RUNNING DOWN THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD ON THE DASH, GETTING THE PASSENGER WET. VERY FRUSTRATED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE SUNROOF LEAK AS GENERAL MOTORS KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AS IT IS DUE TO THE SUNROOF DRAINS/DRAINAGE TUBES. *TR

AUGUST 2008 FIRST TIME I NOTICED FLOOR BOARDS ON PASSENGERS SIDE WET, TOOK TO SATURN THEY SAID THE DRAIN LINE WAS CLOGGED, OCT 2008 BACK TO SATURN THEY HAD A CAMPAIGN TO EXTEND DRAIN LINES THEY DID THIS.. NOVEMBER 2009 THE DRIVERS SIDE IS NOW LEAKING SATURN SECURED THE DRAIN HOSE FOR SUNROOF. MY CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED UNTIL OCT 2014. NOW THAT IT IS PARKED OUT IN THE ELEMENTS I HAVE A MAJOR ROOF LEAK. TOOK IT TO GM ON OCT 2, 2014 AS I NOW HAVE WET/WATER STAINS ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE HEADLINER, THEY SAID THE DRAIN WAS CLOGGED FIXED IN 2 MINUTES. WE HAD RAIN FOR A WEEK AND ON OCT.24, 2014 I NOW NOTICED WET/WATER STAINS ON BOTH SIDES AND ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD, UNDER THE VISORS AND THE ROOF PANEL WHERE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND CONTROLS ARE FOR THE SUNROOF. TAKE TO GM DEALER THEY SAY THE DRIVERS SIDE DRAIN HOSE WAS CLOGGED FIXED IN A MINUTE. BACK TO GM ON NOV 15, 2014 THEY NOW SAY THE SEAL AROUND THE SUNROOF NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THEY REPLACE SEAL. NOV 17, 2014 LEAK IS WORSE THAN EVER. I HAVE NOW SPENT $500.00 TO HAVE A LEAK FIXED TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET NOW AND SEE THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. 100'S IF NOT 1000'S OF GM SATURN OUTLOOKS WITH AND WITHOUT SUNROOFS HAVE LEAKY ROOFS. OUR 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK BROKE DOWN WITH THE DREADED WAVE PLATE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. SYMPTOM WAS THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN AROUND 30-35 MPH AND WOULD NOT CONTINUE. WE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RESTART. EACH TIME THE TRANSMISSION HELD UP UNTIL 30-35 MPH THEN SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND STOPPED. WE HAD THE OUTLOOK TOWED TO FNA TRANSMISSION IN WAKEFIELD, MA WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE WAVE PLATE FAILED AND SHREDDED THE REST OF THE TRANSMISSION...NOTHING COULD BE SAVED. WHILE I AM HAPPY NO ONE WAS HURT, A TRANSMISSION SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 104K MILES, WHICH IS OF COURSE OUT OF WARRANTY PERIOD. THE REPAIR COST $3000. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THIS KNOWN ISSUE? HELLO I HAVE THE 2007 OUTLOOK THAT HAS EXPERIENCED THE NOTORIOUS TRANSMISSION FAILURE. MY CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SOON AFTER I PURCHASED IT WITH 40,000 MILES AND TOLD THEM THE CAR WOULD ROLL BACK WHILE ON A HILL IN GEAR. I BACKED OUT OF A PARKING SPOT IN THE LOWES PARKING LOT AND THE CAR SHUTTERED VIOLENTLY. I MADE IT TO THE CORNER ABOUT A HALF MILE AWAY BEFORE THE CAR SIMPLY WOULD NOT MOVE. I PULLED THE ENGINE CODE MYSELF AND HAD P2723, P0700 I AM FINDING EVERYWHERE ON THE WEB THROUGH HUNDREDS OF FORUMS THAT THIS TRANSMISSION IS A REAL ISSUE DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE CHINA MADE WAVE PLATE. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART THAT IMPLODES INTERNALLY THEN TAKES OUT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE $4000.00 REPAIR , REPLACEMENT. MY VEHICLE HAD ONLY 75654 MILES AND EIGHT YEARS IN SERVICE. GM DEALERSHIP DECLINED TO HONOR THE GM WARRANTY. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC, HE OPENED THE ENGINE AND SAW TIMING CHAIN WAS IN-FACT BROKE AND IT CAUSED FOR VEHICLE TO LOST COMPRESSION. I PAID $4700 FOR THE REPAIRS. 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED AS HER HUSBAND STEERED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. HE APPLIED EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE STEERING WHEEL, AND THE STEERING WHEEL BROKE FREE. THE CONSUMERS HUSBAND PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, AND CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND ALL APPEARED FINE. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO DRIVE. HOWEVER, BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVED HOME. IT FELT AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER STEERING AND THE STEERING PUMP BEGAN TO GROWL. ON SATURDAY JULY 5, 2014, WHILE TRAVELING N/B ON I-81 IN VIRGINIA MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO LOSE POWER TO THE ENGINE. AT THE TIME, I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE AND GOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH. AT NO TIME DID ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR OTHER SERVICE INDICATOR COME ON. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER BEFORE IT COMPLETELY STOPPED. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES ON THE SHOULDER THE VEHICLE LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. I HAD MY WIFE AND 3 KIDS (8YR, 6YR AND 3 MONTH OLD) IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IT TOOK AN HOUR FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO GET TO US. WE LOADED THE CAR SEATS AND ALL OF US INTO THE TOW TRUCK AND WERE TOWED TO A MECHANICS SHOP IN FRONT ROYAL, VA. SINCE ALL SHOPS WERE CLOSED AT THAT TIME, WE HAD TO LEAVE OUR CAR AND WENT TO A HOTEL. ON MONDAY JULY 7TH, WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE AT LEAST A FEW DAYS UNTIL THEY FIGURED OUT WHAT WENT WRONG. I RENTED A CAR AND DROVE HOME TO NJ. ON THURSDAY JULY 10TH, THE MECHANIC SHOP CALLED AND SAID THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY SHOT DUE TO A MISSING VALVE COVER INSIDE THE ENGINE, 1 OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS NOT WORKING AND MULTIPLE PISTONS FAILING. ON JULY 24TH THE CAR WAS FINALLY PICKED UP AND TRANSPORTED TO ANOTHER MECHANIC BY MY RESIDENCE. THE NEXT DAY THAT SHOP CALLED WITH THE SAME DIAGNOSIS AND SAID I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW ENGINE FROM GM FOR $5,000. THAT PURCHASE WITH LABOR AND TAX WILL COST ME $7,500. THIS WHOLE BREAKDOWN ENDED UP COSTING ME APPROX. $9,000 TOTAL AND I AM STILL WAITING TO GET MY CAR BACK. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED AND HAD ALL THE RECOMMENDED TUNE UPS/RECALLS PERFORMED. IT BOTHERS ME THAT GM PUTS FAMILIES AT RISK BY NOT ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. OUTLOOK WAS PURCHASED NEW AND HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY. IT HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN BY MY WIFE AND I AND HAS NEVER BEEN USED TO TOW. I HAD THE DEALERSHIP CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS UNDER RECALL AS I HAD FOUND REFERENCE TO THERE BEING A RECALL IN FEBRUARY OF 2007 (A MONTH PRIOR TO OUR PURCHASE) INDICATING WE COULD GET FALSE READINGS AND OUR COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE RESET. WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. LIGHT HAS BEEN ON/OFF FOR THE PAST MONTH AND A HALF. I SEE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK, BUT NOTHING FOR THE 2007 MODEL. IF SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, GM NEEDS TO EXPAND THE RECALL TO INCLUDE THE 2007 MODEL. *TR
