VERY SCARY. WE WENT ON A SHORT VACATION IN PA AND WHILE WE WERE GOING UP A HILL, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 27 MPH AND THE ENGINE RPM WENT TO 7000. I HAVE TO QUICKLY PULL OFF THE ROAD AND CALL FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. SOON AFTER THIS INCIDENT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE WERE TOWED TO THE LOCAL GAS STATION AND THE MECHANIC SAID IT'S A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND WOULD COST OVER A $1000. I WENT ON THE WEB DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS GM MODULE BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND GM DID ABSOLUTE NOTING TO RESOLVE THIS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I BOUGH GM AND IT WILL BE THE LAST. *TR
VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 82000 MILES ON IT. TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING HARD. 4 DAYS LATER, DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LUNGED AND THE RPM'S WENT WAY UP. THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER SHIFT AND WILL NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH WE HAVE PAGES HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES. THERE IS PREMATURE WEAR OF THE INTERNAL TRANSMISSION PARTS. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN RECALLED? *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE WAVE PLATE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
SAME KIND OF STORY AS THAT OF MANY OTHERS. ON THE ROAD, THE OUTLOOK'S TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AND ENGINE REV WENT HIGH BEFORE THE NEXT SHIFT. ONE DIFFERENCE IS THAT IN OUR CASE, WE WERE DRIVING HOME FROM A HOSPITAL, HOURS AFTER MY WIFE'S SISTER DIED THERE THAT DAY. WE DID NOT NEED THAT. FOR THE RECORD, THE DEALER QUOTED $3750 TO FIX OR OFFERED $3000 IN TRADE TOWARD ANOTHER CAR. HAVEN'T DECIDED YET. WE HAVE OTHER THINGS ON OUR MIND. THE FUNERAL IS WEDNESDAY. *JS
ROOF LEAKS FROM SUNROOF /MOONROOF. EVERYTIME IT RAINS MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK ROOF LEAKS. THE WATER TRAVELS INTO THE PILLARS AND WHERE THE AIR BAGS ARE STORED IN THE COLUMNS. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS WILL EFFECT AIR BAG OPERATION OR DEPLOYMENT. LEAKS INTO THE GLOVE BOX AND BEHIND DASHBOARD AS WELL AS INTO THE REAR PASSENGER / STORAGE AREA. THE FLOORS ARE SATURATED AND THE VEHICLE SMELLS OF MOLD. RANDOM DASHBOARD LIGHTS COME ON PERIODICALLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY TO 30 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO A FRACTURED WAVE PLATE, IN WHICH THE FRAGMENTS CAUSED SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000. *TR
THE DAY OF THE PURCHASE (12/2012) OF THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHO I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM (KIA DEALERSHIP) AND WAS INFORMED THE TRUCK WAS PROBABLY LOW ON GAS. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I CALLED AND PHYSICALLY VISITED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. FOR ME TO SEEK GMC.. DURING MY VISIT WITH ED MORSE GMC IN TAMPA, A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED AND TONS OF RECALLS POPULATED WHICH THEY WERE PLEASANT ENOUGH IN FIXING. NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT THE ENGINE LIGHT AS THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. ON FEB 15, 2014, I HEADED ON THE INTERSTATE TO DROP OF MY SON AND THE TRUCK JERKED. I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY MAKE MY WAY THREE LANES TO PULL OVER BC THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHUT DOWN. ONCE I PULLED OVER, IT DIDN'T WANT TO GO INTO DRIVE. I WAITED APPROXIMATELY 30-45 MINUTES, TURNED ON THE CAR, PUT IT ON DRIVE AND NOTHING. I THEN PLACED IT IN NEUTRAL AND IT BEGAN TO DRIVE, I PLACED IT IN DRIVE AND IT BEGAN TO REVERSE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME AFTER ALMOST A 2 HOURS? DRIVE AT 25-30 MPH BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN THAT. DAYS AFTER, THE TRUCK SEEMED FINE. I TOOK IT AGAIN TO ED MORSE GMC IN TAMPA WHO INFORMED MANY CODES POPULATED (AGAIN) BUT WAS IN HISTORY. THE MECHANIC STATED TO COME BACK IN TWO WEEKS TO HAVE IT RETESTED. DOCUMENTS WERE PROVIDED TO ME. EVERY CODE WAS PART OF THE POWERTRAIN/ TRANSMISSION. I DIDN'T GET THE CHANCE TO BRING IT BACK AS SCHEDULED BECAUSE A FEW DAYS AFTER; FEB 22, I HEADED FOR DRILL (NATION GUARD) AND THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHUT DOWN WHERE A SEMI ALMOST REARED ME TO DEATH. THANKFULLY HE SWERVED AND I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY MERGE ONTO THE GRASS. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I WAS SO ANGRY AND NERVOUS THAT I RETURN HOME TO GET MY WIFE'S CAR. UPON MY RETURN HOME ON THE 23RD, I WENT TO CRANK UP THE TRUCK AND NOTHING. THE VEHICLE IS NOW DISABLED AND SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY. *TR
WATER IS COMING IN FROM THE SUNROOF DRAINS. WATER IS POOLING IN THE HEADLINER. UPON BRAKING WATER POURED OUT THE FRONT OF THE HEADLINER BY THE PASSENGER WINDSHIELD AND ALSO DRIPPED ON THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE GAUGE COMPARTMENT. I AM CONCERNED OF STAGNANT WATER CAUSING MOLD AND MILDEW - I AM HIGHLY ALLERGIC AND IT CAUSES BRONCHIAL ISSUES. I AM CONCERNED OF THE WATER SHORTING OUT THE ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM MY FATHER WHO DROVE IT SPORADICALLY AND GARAGED IT. I DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE AND DRIVE IT DAILY RAIN OR SHINE. I AM CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY. A CAR IS NOT SUPPOSED TO LEAK. *TR
I WAS STRUCK CAUSING AN ACCIDENT THAT COMPLETELY DAMAGED THE RIGHT FRONT AND RIGHT SIDE QUARTER PANEL. ALL COMPONENTS HAD TO BE REPLACED AS THEY COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. MY 89 YEAR OLD MOTHER WHO WAS A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT STRUCK HER HEAD ON THE RIGHT WINDOW DOOR. SHE WOULD HAVE HIT THE DASH IF SHE WASNT WEARING A SEAT BELT. I CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS. THE DEALER CHARGED ME 97.47 TO CHECK IT AND FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE WAS BAD AND IT WOULD COST ME $827.00+ FOR REPAIR.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE! I WAS TRYING TO PARK, THE REVERSE CONTROL DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY, CHECK ENGINE CAME ON. AFTER FEW HOURS PARKED, I WENT BACK HOME, THE SPEED WASN'T WORKING (RPM 3 AND 4 SPEED 35) AND THE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I GOT HOME, A MECHANIC CAME OVER TO CHECK IT, HE SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK IT TO GMC, THEY WORKED THE RECALLS (?? I DON'T KNOW STILL WHAT RECALLS THEY WORK ON IT), AND TOLD ME IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE TO PAY $4,500 IF I WANT A NEW ONE, $200 LESS IF I WANT AN USED ONE OR REBUILD. SINCE IT IS MORE THAT 5 YEARS OLD, NO WARRANTY ON IN. I STILL OWE $11000 ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON IN EARLY JANUARY 2014 AND WENT ON & OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS. SINCE THE END OF JANUARY 2014, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY ON. THE MOST RECENT GM RECALL ON AIR BAGS COVERS 2008-2010 SATURN OUTLOOKS AND THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED FROM GM WAS "GM IS STILL LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME, IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION ON RECALLS, YOU MAY LOOK INTO NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION." WHEN I ASKED ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT ADDITIONAL VINS WOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL, THE RESPONSE WAS "WHEN THE RECALL IS RELEASED THE AFFECTED VEHICLE VIN'S WILL BE ADDED AND THOSE CUSTOMERS WILL BE NOTIFIED." WHEN I ASKED ABOUT AN ESTIMATED TIMELINE, THE RESPONSE WAS "THE RESEARCH IS ONGOING." IF GM IS SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE EXCLUDED THE 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK FROM THIS RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY SATURN WAS DISABLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DUE TO A CRACKED WAVEPLATE RESULTING IN LOSS OF GEAR WHICH WAS REPAIRED BUT WAS CURRENTLY TURNED OVER FOR REIMBURSEMENT. PROBLEM SOLVED. WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS IN FOR REPAIR THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS FOUND TO BE FAULTY AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. AFTER DISCUSSING THIS WITH MY SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP, AND PERFORMING RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED. FAILURE OF THE BCM RENDERED MY VEHICLE DEAD IN THE WATER. THANKFULLY OTHER FAULTY EQUIPMENT HAD ME IN A RENTAL CAR AT THE TIME OF THE ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE TO BE INVESTIGATED AND BELIEVE A RECALL IS IN ORDER. TO ME, THE FACT THAT I HAD TO REPLACE THE MODULE AND THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE ONLY TELLS ME IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I DON'T WANT TO BE LEFT STRANDED AND HAVE MY FAMILY ALONG WHEN IT FAILS THE NEXT TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE THE FUSE FOR THE TURN SIGNALS BUT INADVERTENTLY REMOVED ANOTHER FUSE. AS A RESULT, THE GEAR SHIFTER, DOOR LOCKS AND A FEW OTHER COMPONENTS BECAME INOPERATIVE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THERE WOULD BE A FAILURE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REPLACE THE FUSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK THE ENGINE STALLED AND CAME RIGHT BACK ON. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2 ND GEAR. I PULL OVER PUT IT IN PARK SAT THERE FOR A FEW MINUTES. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT WENT INTO GEAR. I'M VERY UPSET TO LEARN IT WILL COST ME 6000.00 TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION AND TIMING CHAIN WHICH IS A PROBLEM GM IS VERY AWARE OF. I THINK THEY SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM DUE TO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR JUST OVER A YEAR. AND PAID GOOD MONEY FOR THE VEHICLE. SO IF THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM THEY SHOULD FIX IT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN IT RAINED, WATER LEAKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE FROM UNDERNEATH THE GLOVE BOX COMPARTMENT, DRIVER'S VISOR, SUN ROOF, AND THE REAR EXTERIOR ACCESSORY LIGHT. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED MOLD GROWING ON BOTH FRONT DOORS AND THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN AIR CONDITIONER MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER THEN FAILED COMPLETELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I OWN A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. YESTERDAY, OUR LOW BEAM HEADLAMP ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WENT OUT. THINKING IT WOULD BE A SIMPLE REPAIR, I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT BULBS. AS I DID THE REPAIR, I FOUND THAT IT WAS NOT THE BULB AT ALL, BUT A WIRING HARNESS THAT HAD FRAYED AND SHEARED ITSELF OFF. WHAT WAS ODD TO ME IS THAT IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE LAMP, I HAD TO REMOVE A NUMBER OF PROTECTIVE SHIELDS, I.E. THE FENDER SKIRT, AND THEN THE END CAP PROTECTING THE LAMP. HOW COULD ANYTHING POSSIBLY GET IN AND SHEAR THE WIRE IF IT WAS THAT WELL PROTECTED? WHEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I AM FINDING THAT IT IS BECOMING A MUCH MORE COMMON ISSUE THAT I HAD ANTICIPATED. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ISSUING A RECALL NOTICE OUT TO PREVENT OTHER OWNERS FROM EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE I AM HAVING. *TR
I OWN A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XE (FWD). AFTER A FEW DAYS OF A BIT OF AN ODD HITCH IN THE GEARS AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTING, THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. AFTER A BRIEF STOP AND THEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT WAS AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. WE HAD IT TOWED TO A NEARBY MECHANIC WHERE WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 78,500 MILES. *TR
THE VEHICLE SUFFERED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. DEALER DIAGNOSED THE WELL-KNOWN WAVE PLATE BREAKAGE ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN WE-DOCUMENTED FOR YEARS IN VEHICLES WITH THIS TRANSMISSION, AND GM HAS ISSUED VARIOUS TECHNICAL BULLETINS REGARDING THE PROBLEM. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL FOR THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM? TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAN OCCUR AT ANY TIME, EVEN WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TOOK A TRIP OUT OF TOWN THIS WEEKEND AND STARTED NOTICING THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WHEN SWITCHING GEARS WHICH ACTIVATED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THANKFULLY MADE IT HOME BEFORE IT GOT WORSE. NEXT DAY DROVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK AND WAS SLIPPING ALL OVER THE PLACE. PULLED OVER TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED. TURNED OFF,TURNED BACK ON. TRIED TO GO IN REVERSE AND WAS UNABLE AS IF IN NEUTRAL. STILL CAN GO FORWARD BUT MAJOR SLIPPAGE. DOING RESEARCH THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUES WITH THESE VEHICLES. THIS PAGE ALONE HAS 100+ AND 10+ IN THE LAST MONTH. GM AND NHTSA NEED TO REALIZE THIS ISSUE AND GET THAT RECALL GOING! *TR
TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING DURING LONG INTERSTATE TRIP. AFTER A REST STOP, TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF A LOW GEAR ON FREEWAY EVEN WHEN TRAVELING AT 60-70 MPH. WARNING LIGHT (TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT) CAME ON AND WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE NEXT EXIT. POWER TRAIN COMPLETELY FAILED AND WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AND FIND A HOTEL TO STAY AT OVERNIGHT. GM DEALER FOUND 35R WAVE PLATE BROKEN AND SEVER METAL DEBRIS THROUGHOUT TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT OUR EXPENSE. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XR AWD HAS THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW. SO TODAY I SEEN ON THE NEWS THAT GM IS RECALLING THE 2008-2010S GM SUVS FOR THIS VERY ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO THE 2007'S THEY ARE ALL THE SAME WHY NOT THE 07S. *TR
THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD DEAL JUST PURCHASED ON 11/4/13. WITH A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. YEAH RIGHT HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE SINCE I DROVE IT. AND THEY TOLD ME THEY FIXED ALL THE PROBLEMS. TODAY IS THE 13TH THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT OUT OF TOWN ON MY PLANNED TRIP AND SEE HOW IT DOES.THE FARTHER WE DROVE THE WORSE THE TRANSMISSION KEPT SLIPPING. SO ON THE 12TH I TOOK IT BACK IN AND THE SERVICE DEPT. TOLD ME THEY ARE LIMITED ON WHAT THEY CAN FIX ON A USED CAR EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. AND MY AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEY COULDN'T FIX THAT TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD FIX THAT OUT OF MY POCKET COST. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THESE VEHICLES BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS SERIOUSLY HURT! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME WHAT CAN I DO.. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR WENT INTO "LIMP HOME" MODE. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR OUT OF LIMP MODE AND DROVE TO A REPAIR SHOP. A GM CERTIFIED REPAIR FACILITY DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED DUE TO A FAILED 35R WAVE PLATE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2007 AND 2008 OUTLOOKS, GMC ACADIAS, AND BUICK ENCLAVES. THIS PROBLEM AS BEEN REFERENCED UNDER NHTSA CASE NUMBER [XXX] AND BULLETIN 09-07-30-012. MY VEHICLE TRANSMISSION HAS HAD PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE WITH 36K MILES. THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION HAS MADE GRINDING NOISES, BEEN STUCK IN BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE GEARS, AND HAD BEEN SERVICED FOUR TIMES FOR VARIOUS CONDITIONS. I DO NOT HAUL TRAILERS WITH MY OUTLOOK. IT IS A FAMILY PASSENGER CAR. 6 MONTHS AGO I HAD A REBUILT TRANSAXLE PUT IN AT MY EXPENSE, THINKING THIS WOULD REMEDY ANY ONGOING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS NEW TRANSMISSION HAS BEGUN TO SLIP WHEN ENGAGED FROM PARK TO REVERSE. I HAVE 155K ON MY SATURN, BUT ONLY 10K ON THIS NEW TRANSAXLE. TO SAY I'M DISAPPOINTED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. I WILL NOT BE LOOKING TO REPLACE THIS VEHICLE WITH A GM. THEIR LACK OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE EXISTENCE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SATURN/ACADIA/TRAVERSE TRANSMISSION HAS COST THEM SEVERAL SALES. I HAVE GONE OUT OF MY WAY TO WARN MY FRIENDS THAT THEY SHOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF ONE OF THESE GM SUV MODELS. *TR
VEHICLE WOULDN'T GO INTO PARK ALTHOUGH THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN PARK. THE PIECE UNDER THE HOOD COULD BE MOVED TO KNOCK IT OUT OF GEAR EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF WHICH IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE SHIFT CABLE THAT NEEDED REPLACING. THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL IN A 2009 SATURN OUTLOOK ( RECALL # 09041) BUT THE 2007 OUTLOOK WAS NOT INCLUDED WHICH IS THE VEHICLE I HAVE. I CALLED GM AND TOLD ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH IT IS AN ON GOING SAFETY PROBLEM! *TR
SERVICE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS NOW. TOOK IT DEALER BUT THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. ON OCT 11, 2013 WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65 MPH THE TRANSMISSION JUST GAVE OUT. CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN AND WAS NOT ABLE TO KEEP SPEED UP. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. GOT TOWED TO CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP (MOTOR CITY) IN BAKERSFIELD AND WAS TOLD THAT MY SATURN OUTLOOK 2007 NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
STABILITRAK TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF, WARNING BEEPS CAME WITH A MESSAGE SAYING OIL PRESSURE LOW, SHUT ENGINE OFF. THIS IS ONE OF MANY ISSUES I HAVE ENCOUNTERED, AMONG GETTING A NEW ENGINE AFTER BUYING IT IN 2010 6 MONTHS LATER, BECAUSE OF WAVE PLATE ISSUES, TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM, THE LIFT GATE NOT FUNCTIONING, MY HUSBAND SPENT $23K ON THE CAR AND SINCE THEN WE HAVE PUT THOUSANDS MORE INTO THE CAR TO HAVE IT FIXED. FEEL UNSAFE IN IT AN DISGUSTED AT HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO GET IT SERVICED. *TR
CAR IS BUCKING BETWEEN 3RD AND 4TH GEAR. SENT IT TO DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. COULD BE WAVE PLATE PROBLEM THAT IS COMMON ON THIS MODEL CAR. *TR
DURING THE CAR BEING SERVICED THEY DID A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE CAR THAT WAS TO REPROGRAM THE ECM COMPUTER IN THE CAR FOR A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. AFTER THE SERVICE THE GAS MILEAGE WENT DOWN AND NOTICED THE CHANGE OIL CALCULATOR WENT DOWN FASTER. NOT A BIG DEAL I CHANGE MY OIL AT 5,000 MILES WITH SYNTHETIC BLEND. WIFE TOO CAR AND AFTER SHOPPING THE CAR WOULD NOT START. FOUND OUT THAT THE TIMING CHAIN SNAPPED AND BROKE NUMEROUS PIECES IN THE ENGINE. FOUND OUT AFTER TAKING TO THE MECHANIC THAT THE REPROGRAM ACTUAL ALLOWED MORE STRETCH IN THE TIMING CHAIN THEN THE FACTORY SETTING. SO FEEL LIKE THEY WERE TRYING TO PUSH THE ISSUE OUT PAST THE WARRANTY PERIOD. NEVER WAS TOLD AT DEALER WHAT THE REPROGRAM DID OR THEY WERE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TIMING CHAIN. NOTHING IN MANUAL STATING TO CHANGE TIMING CHAIN AT ANY POINT. FOUND OUT AFTER THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AND GM BASICALLY SAYS IT MY FAULT I SHOULD HAVE CHANGED THE OIL MORE. THIS COULD BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU ARE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THIS HAPPENS. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND AN ERROR CAME ACROSS THE DASH STATING THE TRANSMISSION WAS HOT, IDLE ENGINE. SO, I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET THE CAR SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES. STARTED CAR BACK UP AND ALL WAS FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR. NOT ALWAYS GETTING THE ERROR MESSAGE, BECAUSE I THINK I HAVE LEARNED WHEN TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. VEHICLE'S RMP'S WILL GO HIGH, BUT NEVER SHIFT BACK DOWN INTO GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. ONCE IT DOES THIS, I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF. ONCE I START BACK DRIVING, IT SHIFTS PROPERLY AGAIN. UNTIL I HAVE TO GO UP A HILL, AND I GIVE IT MORE GAS TO GET UP THE HILL AND IT WILL SHIFT OUT OF GEAR AGAIN, AND NOT EVER GO BACK. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE AT TIMES IT MAKES THE CAR DROP IN SPEED SUDDENLY ON THE HIGHWAY !!!! *TR

2007 SATURN OUTLOOK WITH APPROXIMATELY 35670 MILES ON IT SUDDENLY BEGAN TO JERK WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET WITH 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER INTO A STORE PARKING SPACE AND WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE TO MOVE THE CAR. HAD TO BE PUSHED OUT SO THAT I COULD FORWARD. GMC DEALER DISCOVERED IT WAS A BROKEN 3.5R WAVE PLATE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I'VE DISCOVERED THIS EXACT PROBLEM IS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN GM IS LETTING ON (LINKS BELOW). GM IS STILL NOT WILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE EXTENT OF THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS AFFECTING THE SATURN OUTLOOK, THE GMC ACADIA AND POSSIBLY OTHER GM VEHICLES. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THEN SLAMMED INTO GEAR WHICH CAUSED LOSS OF SPEED AND CONTROL. TRANSMISSION FAILED MORE PRECISELY WAS THE WAVE PLATE IN THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
THE AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CONSIDERING THEY DID A RECALL ALREADY WITH THIS EXACT ISSUE, BUT THE FIX WAS REPROGRAMMING THE SDM COMPUTER MODULE. THIS SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED THE SENSOR AS WELL BECAUSE THE ISSUE IS MORE THAN A REPROGRAM. IT WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE FIX, AND AIR BAGS SENSORS SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 78K. 2007 OUTLOOK HAS HAD CONSISTENT STEERING PROBLEMS. IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY AND IT IS LIKE MY POWER STEERING DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE. I CAN NOT MAKE DOUBLE TURNS OR PARK PROPERLY DUE TO THE STEERING. *TR
WE HAD JUST LEFT CLEAR SPRINGS RECREATION AREA IN MISSISSIPPI AND WERE HEADING WEST ON HWY 84 AS WE SLOWED DOWN TO GET READY TO TURN ONTO SOUTH HWY 33 THE CAR SUDDENLY JERKED, DOWNSHIFTED AND THEN THE ENGINE RPM'S SPIKED. SO DRASTIC WAS OUR DECREASE IN SPEED THAT CARS BEHIND US MAKING THE SAME TURN WERE SWERVING TO AVOID US AND EACH OTHER. AS WE MADE THE TURN SLOWLY AS WE DIDN'T KNOW AT FIRST WHAT WAS GOING EVERYTHING SEEMED TO GO BACK TO NORMAL, HOWEVER AS WE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 3RD AND WE COULD NOT ABOVE 35 MPH WITHOUT RISKING THE ENGINE DUE TO HIGH RPMS. WE THEN MADE A VERY SLOW DRIVE HOME. AFTER READING UP ON VARIOUS FORUMS I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE GM LAMBDA MODELS AND FORUMS AND THEY HAVE HAD A FIX OUT FOR IT FOR SOME TIME. THE FORUMS ARE LITTERED WITH STORIES VERY SIMILAR TO OURS. GM NEEDS TO RECALL THIS AND GET IT FIXED BEFORE SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENS TO AN UNSUSPECTING FAMILY LIKE OURS. *JS

ERRATIC SHIFTING, BUCKING, SURGING, DOWN SHIFTING TO LOWER GEAR, HESITATION, HIGH ENGINE SOUNDS BECAUSE TRANNY TOTALLY DISENGAGED ITSELF, NO REVERSE, WILL NOT SHIFT BACK UP TO HIGHER OR NORMAL GEAR. I HAD BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND TWO MONTHS LATER TRANNY ISSUES BEGAN. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE FOR THREE HOURS THE NIGHT MY TRANNY BROKE DOWN. I WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZED AT HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME ISSUES I HAD. ( THOUSANDS ). I RESEARCHED THE GM SITE, EDMONDS SITE JUST GOOGLED IT AND I COULD SPEND DAYS PROVING THAT GM HAS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION AND THEY ARE DEFRAUDING THE PUBLIC TO COVER THEIR OWN ASS. THAT AND THIS ONLY PROVES THAT GM HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION AND THEY ARE IGNORING IT. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE, AN ACCIDENT WHERE SOMEONE OR SOMEONE'S CHILD WAS HURT OR KILLED. WHEN MY CAR STARTED BUCKING AND HESITATING, THE FIRST PLACED I LOOKED WAS IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR TO MAKE SURE NO ONE WAS GOING TO SLAM INTO THE REAR. SURE ENOUGH THERE WAS AND IT WAS A CLOSE CALL. THEN WHEN SHE PASSED ME, SHE WAVED HER HANDS IN THE AIR AND GAVE ME THE FINGER. I`M NOT KIDDING. I`M ONLY GLAD THIS WAS ON A SLOWER STREET THAN A HIGHWAY CAUSE IT MAY HAVE TURNED INTO SOMETHING WORSE. THIS IS A GM PART THAT IS BEING PROVEN BY NUMEROUS OWNERS OF THE OUTLOOK, ACADIA, ENCLAVE AND TRAVERSE TO BE DEFECTIVE IN DESIGN AND QUALITY. MY RESEARCH HAS PROVEN TO ME ALSO THAT BETWEEN 35000 AND 80000 MILES, THESE TRANNYS WILL BREAKDOWN. HOPEFULLY, IF AND WHEN THE BREAKDOWN OCCURS, NO ONE WILL GET HURT. WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A PUDDLE, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. I HAD THE INTERIOR LINERS REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS HAVE INCREASED DRAMATICALLY SINCE THE ORIGINAL DATE OF THE PROBLEM AND AT THIS POINT, I THINK THIS VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER IS OUT, THERE ARE TWO WINDOWS THAT NO LONGER OPEN, THE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY (THIS IS NEW LAST WEEK), THERE IS ANOTHER WARNING SOUND COMING ON WHEN I MAKE A SHARP TURN BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT THIS IS FOR SINCE THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER IS OUT. ONCE I COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO SHUT COMPLETELY AND I HAD TO START THE CAR, LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOORS AND THEN THE DOOR WOULD SHUT. THE AUDIO/NAVIGATION SCREEN LOSES POWER AND RESTARTS EVERY COUPLE DAYS DURING MY DRIVE. NOTE: I HAVE ALSO HAD THE POWER STEERING REPLACED IN MARCH AND REPLACED THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION ABOUT THE SAME TIME. *TR

I WAS DRIVING TO CHURCH ON AUG. 11, 2013 WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD AND 11 YEAR OLD NIECE AND NEPHEW. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE. WENT DOWN A HILL AND THE CAR WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GAS AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS AT A STOP SIGN AND I WAS TURNING RIGHT. THE RPMS WENT UP LIKE I WAS GOING REALLY FAST AND THEN REALIZED I WAS NOT GETTING THE GAS I SHOULD HAVE BEEN GETTING. I HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH A CAR BEHIND ME AND TURN AROUND. I WAS SO NERVOUS I DIDN'T KNOW IF ANY OTHER CAR WAS COMING BECAUSE I COULD BARELY GO IN REVERSE. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR BACK HOME BY GOING 40 MPH WITH THE RPMS BETWEEN 4 AND 5. NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS WILL FLICKER AND SOMETIMES COMPLETELY GO OUT. NEVER BOTH AT THE SAME TIME, BUT BOTH SIDES HAVE DONE THIS. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY ARE IN AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL MODE. THEY CAN BE BROUGHT BACK ON BY TURNING THEM OFF AND ON OR CYCLING FROM MANUAL MODE TO AUTOMATIC OR VICE VERSA, BUT THAT IS NOT A FIX. THAT IS ANOTHER SAFETY HAZARD HAVING TO CYCLE HEADLIGHTS OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GM. THEY ARE VERY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IN THE SATURN OUTLOOK LINE OF VEHICLES AMONG OTHER VEHICLES THEY PRODUCE. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK- I HAVE HAD THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT ON DRIVER SIDE REPLACED ONCE. AND LIGHT REPLACED ON PASSENGER SIDE REPLACED ONCE. NOW, I DO NOT HAVE ANY LIGHTS IN FRONT ON PASSENGER SIDE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID I NEED MY LAMP BASE REPAIRED. $570!! AFTER SPENDING $300 ON NEW DRL. *TR
HEADLIGHT FAILURES. AS I SEE OVER AND OVER ON THIS SITE. PASSENGER HEADLIGHT STOPPED WORKING SO I REPLACED THE BULB AND IT WORKED FOR 2 WEEKS THEN WENT OUT AGAIN. AS I WAS REPLACING IT AGAIN, I NOTICED THAT THE SOCKET THAT THE BULB PLUGGED INTO WAS SCORCHED/MELTED AND BRITTLE. I READ UP ON THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND CHOSE TO SPLICE IN A NEW SOCKET RATHER THAN SPEND HOURS AT THE DEALERSHIP ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE HARNESS AT SOME OUTRAGEOUS PRICE. IT SEEMS TO BE DOING FINE. NOW THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAS STOPPED WORKING SO I AM FACING THE SAME SITUATION OVER AGAIN. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CLEARLY SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY A RECALL. GM SAVING FEW PENNIES ON A SOCKET THAT WON'T HANDLE THE HEAT OF THE HIGH INTENSITY HEADLAMP AND IT ENDS UP COSTING THE CONSUMER HUNDREDS. *TR
RIGHT AFTER PULLING ON TO THE INTERSTATE, I NOTICED THE CAR WOULD NOT GET UP TO SPEED. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS, IT WOULD MAKE A GRINDING NOISE. I IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN. I THEN REALIZED THAT THE HIGHEST SPEED I COULD GO WAS ABOUT 50. BUT SOON I COULD ONLY GO ABOUT 15-25 MPH, AND I WAS STUCK ON THE INTERSTATE AT THAT SPEED. I INCHED ALONG UNTIL I GOT TO AN EXIT. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO CHECK THE FLUIDS, OIL, WATER, ETC. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, BY THE WAY IT WAS ACTING. I FINALLY DID GET IT HOME BY DRIVING ONLY 20 MPH AT BEST. THIS HAPPENED FRIDAY. MY WIFE FOLLOWED ME ON MONDAY AND WE DROPPED IT OFF AT THE MECHANICS. I DID DO SOME RESEARCH OVER THE WEEKEND AND FOUND THAT THE WAVE PLATE ON THE 2007 OUTLOOKS WAS A HUGE PROBLEM. SURE ENOUGH WHEN THE MECHANIC HOOKED IT UP TO THE MACHINE, THAT'S WHAT CODE CAME UP. NOW ITS GOING TO COST ME A NICE $4000 TO FIX. *TR
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE THE GROCERY STORE AND PLACING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE NOTHING HAPPENED. IT WAS THEN PLACED BACK INTO PARK AND REVERSE AGAIN AND AGAIN NOTHING HAPPENED. THE THIRD TIME THIS WAS DONE IT WENT INTO REVERSE WITH NO PROBLEM. WHEN DRIVING ANYTHING BELOW 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT VERY HARD. IT WOULD JERK AND ALMOST ACT AS THOUGH IT WAS IN NEUTRAL THE RPM'S WOULD JUMP BEFORE GOING TO THE NEXT GEAR. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT ONLY TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM THAT IT WAS IN FACT THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD COST ME ABOUT 5,000.00 TO REPLACE IT. I HAD PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ABOUT 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN WHEN SHE HIT THE GAS PEDAL THERE WAS NO RESPONSE, JUST A JERK AND NO ENGINE RESPONSE. SHE HAD TO COAST OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET THE CAR COME TO A RESTING STOP. WHEN SHE DID THAT SHE TRIED TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN AND THE CAR HAD LITTLE TO NO RESPONSE AND THE GEAR GRIND-ED. SHE PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND THE CAR WOULDN'T GO IN REVERSE AT ALL. TRIED PUTTING THE CARE IN DRIVE AGAIN AND THE CAR WOULDN'T RESPOND OR MOVE FORWARD, SHE ENDED UP STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD TO CALL FOR A TOE. AFTER DOING A QUICK RESEARCH ONLINE IT SEEMS THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON WITH THE OUTLOOK, TRAVERSE, ACADIA AND OTHER MODELS JUST LIKE IT. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL END UP BECOMING A RECALL PROBLEM AS LOOSING YOUR ABILITY TO DRIVE AND STEER WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD IS VERY DANGEROUS, I'M JUST GLAD MY WIFE WASN'T ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY DRIVING AT A HIGHER SPEED.
