ON RETURNING TO PARKED CAR MID-DAY ON 2/2/2020 (A MILD WINTER DAY, PARKED IN SHADE AT SKI RESORT), I SAW A T SHAPED CRACK ON LOWER PART OF WINDSHIELD JUST ON PASSENGER SIDE OF CENTER. THERE WAS NO CHIP OR DENT OR CRACK IN THE CENTRAL WINDSHIELD WHEN I PARKED THE CAR. I DIDN'T SEE OR HEAR AN IMPACT TO THE WINDSHIELD ON THE DRIVE THAT MORNING. OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT 10 DAYS, THIS HAS GROWN, EXTENDING TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD AND ACROSS ABOUT HALF THE WIDTH OF THE WINDSHIELD.
THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED AFTER STARTING DEFROSTER WHILE STILL PARKED IN THE UNHEATED GARAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION AND THERE WAS NO CRACK PRIOR TO STARTING THE DEFROSTER. *TR
BRAKES ARE SOFT AND GO ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. ONE CANNOT PUMP UP TODAYS BRAKES. REAR BRAKES ALMOST NEW. FRONT BRAKE PADS NEW. BRAKES STOP VEHICLE IN NORMAL OPERATION. MY CONCERN IN EMERGENCY SITUATION. VERY HEAVY BRAKING GOES VERY CLOSE TO THE FLOOR.
CRACK IN WINDSHIELD ON DRIVER APPEARED WHILE NORMAL DRIVING. NO INDICATION OF ROCK CHIPS AT ALL THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED IT. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET TRAVELING STRAIGHT. CRACK ORIGINATED FROM A-PILLAR AND PROPAGATED TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED IT AT MY COST OF ABOUT $1000.
JANUARY 27, 2020 I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH ON NJ HWY 29 TO MY SON'S HOME. SMALL ROCK HIT WINDSHIELD AND MADE A SMALL CRACK, LESS THAN 1 INCH. I CALLED INSURANCE WHO WOULD SEND A MOBILE REPAIR TRUCK TO REPAIR IT ONSITE AT MY SON'S HOUSE. AS I WAS DRIVING, THE CRACK GETTING BIGGER. BY THE TIME I ARRIVED AT MY SON'S, 45 MINUTES LATER, THE CRACK WAS MORE THAN 7 INCHES LONG AND WIDENING AND GROWING HORIZONTALLY AND VERTICALLY. THE CRACK SO SO BIG. THE INSURANCE REP SAID MOBILE GLASS REPAIR COULD NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT WAS SO BIG. I HAD TO BRING IT IN FOR A WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT AND RECALIBRATION. I WAS TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR. WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED ON JANUARY 29, 2020 AT SAFELITE AUTO GLASS IN EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ THE TOTAL COST FOR WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT AND RECALIBRATION WAS $1,011.23.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 SUBARU OUTBACK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE ENGINE REVVED, AND WITH THE DRIVER'S FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND WENT OVER THE PARKING CURB AND CRASHED INTO AN EMBANKMENT IN ANOTHER PARKING LOT. THERE WAS NO WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS WIFE COMPLAINED ABOUT AN UNKNOWN LIGHT THAT ONCE FLASHED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHT DID NOT STAY ON. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED BUT WAS NOT TOTALED. THERE WAS NO INJURY AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE (ANDERSON SUBARU LOCATED AT 7050 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505), WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE TECHNICIAN OFFERED TO HAVE AN ENGINEER EVALUATE THE FAILURE BUT WARNED THAT IT WOULD TAKE THREE TO FOUR MONTHS TO BE COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000. *DT*JB
WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED OVERNIGHT WHILE PARKED IN A GARAGE. 12" CRACK APPEARED ON DRIVER'S SIDE. THIS IS THE SECOND WINDSHIELD THAT HAS CRACKED WITHIN 2 YEARS AND LESS THAN 27K MILES.
WINDSHIELD CRACKS EASILY AND QUICKLY. AFFECTS SAFETY/CAMERA AND SENSORS. A SMALL CHIP APPEARED ON THE WINDSHIELD, UNDER COLD TEMPERATURES IN KANSAS 2020 JANUARY, CHIP GREW A CRACK EXTENDING FROM DRIVER TO PASSENGER SIDE
CRACKED WINDSHIELD ON UPPER PASSENGER SIDE
I WAS DRIVING IN A 4 LANE (TWO ON EACH DIRECTION) PARKWAY TOWARD A RED STOPLIGHT WITH ONE CAR STOPPED AT MY LANE AT THE LIGHT, I WAS COASTING, SLOWING DOWN TOWARD THE CAR. WHEN I WAS ABOUT 30 FT AWAY THE LIGHT CHANGED, THE CAR IN FRONT STARTED DRIVING AND I APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR. THE DISTANCE TO THE CAR IN FRONT WAS DEFINITELY INCREASING HOWEVER MY CAR WENT INTO EMERGENCY BRAKING MODE, CANCELLING MY ACCELERATION PEDAL ACTION AND STOPPING THE CAR. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME AS IT WOULD HAVE ALMOST CERTAINLY ENDED IN A REAR-END COLLISION.
THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED ON ITS OWN WITHOUT ANY SPECIFIC TRAUMA. I HAD IT REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 SUBARU OUTBACK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CRACKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT CRACK EXPANDED OVER TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. *LN*JB
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2018 SUBARU OUTBACK. THE CONTACT'S WIFE HAD NOTICED AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HUGHES SUBARU (3010 ATLANTA HWY, ATHENS, GA 30606) TO HAVE THE BRAKES INSPECTED AND THE DEALER FOUND NO FAULTS WITH THE BRAKES. AS THE FAILURE PERSISTED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THEY DISCOVERED A FAILURE WITH THE TWO FRONT TIRE WHEEL BEARINGS AND THEY REPLACED THE TWO FRONT BEARINGS UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALER ALSO SUGGESTED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE WHEEL BEARINGS. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE CHOPPED. HE STATED THAT THE TWO FRONT TIRES WERE WORSE THEN THE REAR TIRES. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE COULD LEAD TO SUSPENSION ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,000. *DT CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO HUGHES SUBARU TO ADDRESS CONCERNS ABOUT THE CHOPPED TIRES AND POTENTIAL SUSPENSION ISSUES. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THE CHOPPING ON THE TIRES WERE NOT A RESULT OF FAILURE OF THE WHEEL BEARING HUBS. HE ALSO SAID THAT THERE WOULD BE NO SUSPENSION ISSUES BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE. HE SAID THAT THE TIRES DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THERE WAS 6+ TREAD STILL REMAINING ON THE TIRES. *DL
LIKE OTHER LATE MODEL SUBARU OUTBACK OWNERS, A SPONTANEOUS CRACK DEVELOPED IN THE WINDSHIELD. THIS CRACK APPEARED AT APPROXIMATELY NOON ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 29TH, 2019 IN THE PARKING LOT OF A RESTAURANT. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO ASSESS THE PROBLEM TOMORROW AT THE SUBARU DEALER FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE INITIAL INDICATION IS THAT THE CRACK MAY NOT BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT TO DOCUMENT THE ISSUE AND PERHAPS TO RECOVER THE COST OF THIS REPAIR ,IF INCURRED, FROM SUBARU.
WIFE WAS DRIVING AND A SMALL STONE HIT THE WINDSHIELD, LEAVING A SMALL CHIP IN THE GLASS. UPON TURNING ON THE DEFROSTER LATER, THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED.
A SMALL ROCK OR PIECE OF GRAVEL HIT THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD APPROXIMATELY 3" FROM THE TOP EDGE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY A 12" LONG CRACK DEVELOPED AND HAS CONTINUED TO SPREAD. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 16 MONTHS.
SMALL ROCK (MAYBE?) HIT WINDSHIELD AND IT IMMEDIATELY CRACKED. WAS DRIVING BACK FROM MEMPHIS, TN TO LITTLE ROCK, AR CHRISTMAS EVENING ON I-40. THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 1.5 YEARS OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE.
OUR 2018 OUTBACK ALMOST KILLED MY HUSBAND. HE WAS GETTING INTO THE CAR (IT WAS RUNNING) AND JUST OPENED THE DOOR, WHEN THE CAR ROLLED BACK. HE WAS PINNED BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE GARAGE FRAME AND FORTUNATELY THE HE WAS ABLE TO ROLL INTO THE GARAGE. HE HIT SO HARD AND LANDED ON THE SIDE OF HIS MOUNTAIN BIKE (WAS INSIDE THE DOOR) THAT IT PUNCHED A HOLE THROUGH THE WALL. I CAME OUT TO FIND HIM LAYING ON THE GROUND IN THE GARAGE AND THE CAR SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY JUST OUTSIDE THE GARAGE. THERE IS A NATURAL SLOPE AND IT WAS STOPPED WHERE IT LEVELS OFF. THE DOOR ENDED UP BEING CAUGHT ON THE FRAME OF THE GARAGE AND OPENED ALL THE WAY AND THEN SOME BEFORE SLAMMING BACK. THE DOOR IS NOT FUNCTIONAL AND IT DAMAGED THE FRONT QUARTER PANEL AS WELL AS THE DRIVER DOOR. THIS IS MY 3RD OUTBACK AND I AM BEYOND HORRIFIED OF THIS CAR! WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS FROM IT SINCE WE HAVE HAD IT AND I AM READY TO GET RID OF THIS ONE! DO NOT BUY THIS YEAR! THERE WAS A RECALL ON AN EARLIER YEAR OUTBACK AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS AS THEY WERE DOING THE SAME THING, ROLLING WHEN IN PARK. THIS CAR COULD HAVE KILLED HIM AND HE IS FORTUNATE HE WAS ABLE TO GET AWAY FROM THE CAR AND THE FRAME. I CALLED SUBARU THIS MORNING AND HAVE A CASE SO WE SHALL SEE IF I HAVE TO GET LEGAL INVOLVED OR NOT.
INFORMATION SYSTEMS FAIL TO REBOOTING. BACKUP CAMERA FAILS ETC
IN AUGUST 2019 DRIVING AT ABOUT 40MPH ON A SAMLL COUNTRY ROAD A VERY SMALL PIECE OF GRAVEL STUCK WINDSHIELD AND WITHIN 20 MINUTES IT EXPANDED TO A CRACK OVER 18 INCHES LONG. JUST FIVE MONTHS LATER ON DECEMBER 22 DRIVING AT ABOUT 65MPH ON INTERSTATE 5 ANOTHER SMALL STONE STRUCK WIND SHIELD AND WITHIN 30 MINUTES A CRACK FORMED ALMOST 14 INCHES. BOTH WINDSHIELDS WERE SUBARU OEM PARTS.
1-WINDSHIELD VERY LARGE CRACK AND IT KEPT GETTING BIGGER 2-DRIVER SEAT IS SQUEAKING EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR. AFRAID THE SEAT FRAME MIGHT COME A PART DURING ACCIDENT
MY FRONT WINDSHIELD DEVELOPED A SPONTANEOUS CRACK BELOW THE WIPER BLADE. IT WAS STATIONERY.
I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE AND THE BATTERY IS STILL DEAD IF I DON'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A PARASITIC DRAIN. I DON'T HAVE AN OPTIONS OR ACCESSORIES INSTALLED THAT DID COME WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN PURCHASED.
MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED WITHOUT BEING HIT OR CHIPPED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED.
CRACKED WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. CRACK SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE LOWER PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD.
MY GAS GAUGE SAYS I HAVE 95 MILES BEFORE INEED GAS HOWEVER MY WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AT THAT TIME TELL ME TO GET GAS RIGHT AWAY
MY 2018 SUBARU OUTBACK DOES NOT HAVE STEERING ASSIST AND WAS PURCHASED NEW. AT ALL SPEEDS, THE STEERING FEELS VERY LOOSE WHEN TRAVELING RESULTING IN A DISCONNECT BETWEEN THE ROAD/WHEELS AND THE STEERING WHEEL. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE CAR OFTEN FEELS LIKE IT IS HYDROPLANING OR WIND IS FORCING IT TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT DESPITE DRIVING ON DRY ROADS IN CALM WEATHER. THE STEERING IS ERRATIC AND IS ESPECIALLY UNPREDICTABLE WHEN DRIVING ON UNEVEN OR SNOW COVERED ROADS. ON SNOWY ROADS, THE CAR DRIFTS AND FEELS LIKE IT IS UNCONTROLLABLY STARTING TO SLIDE RESULTING IN AN OVER CORRECTION OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS PROBLEM IS TERRIFYING AND THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF HOW SUBARU ADVERTISES THE CAR PERFORMANCE. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY DEALER AS IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY ONLY SAID IT WAS THE ALIGNMENT WHICH WE JUST HAD DONE THE PREVIOUS WEEK. SUBARU HAS HAD STEERING PROBLEMS BEFORE AND I FEEL LIKE THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO IGNORE THE PROBLEM. IM SURPRISED THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL SINCE THE PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN DRIVING ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.
PURCHASED SUBARU IN 2019 AND NOT EVEN TWO WEEKS AFTER OWNING FOUND THE WINDOW HAD A CRACK STARTING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD GOING UP AND THEN THE WIDTH OF THE WINDSHIELD. I DID NOT SEE OR HEAR ANY ITEMS THAT WOULD HAVE CRACKED MY WINDSHIELD AND WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN IT CRACKED IN MY DRIVEWAY.
BOUGHT VEHICLE USED ONE OWNER NO PREVIOUS OCCURANCES, 8000 MILES RECORDED. GRADUALLY, A RUMBLING SOUND COMES FROM FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEN TURNING WHEEL ON FLAT DIRT DRIVEWAY PREDOMINANTELY. CONCURRENT NOISE FROM DASH. AT 10,000 MILES THE CAR NOW MAKES RUMBLING NOISE AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE TRAVELING IN STRAIGHT LINE ON GOOD PAVEMENT (INAUDIBLE AT HIGH SPEEDS) SAME FRONT RIGHT LOCATION, DASH WAS REPAIRED REPLACING SPEAKER GRILLS AND STILL MAKES RATTLING NOISE AFTER FIXING. RUMBLING NOISE FROM DRIVERS LEFT FRONT AREA CHECKED BY DEALER AND REPORTED NOTHING LOOKED WRONG. NOISE CONTINUES FROM DASHBOARD. RUMBLING NOISE FROM FRONT DRIVER SIDE LEFT WHEEL/DASH AREA CONTINUES MORE OFTEN AND SEEMS TO BE INAUDIBLE AT HIGHER SPEEDS - RUMBLING NOISE UPON TURNING WHEEL AND GOING STRAIGHT ON PAVEMENT AS WELL AS ON FLAT GRADED DIRT DRIVEWAY. SUBARU DEALER SERVICE MANAGER STATES THAT HIS FIELD MANAGER HAS CONCURRED THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED ELSEWHERE AND CANNOT BE FIXED AT THIS POINT IN TIME. TAKING BACK TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM CHECK EVERYTHING MORE THOROUGHALLY, IF THEY CANNOT FIND PROBLEM, WILL TAKE TO DEALERSHIP IN ANOTHER TOWN TO CHECK, IF THEY CANNOT FIND PROBLEM WIILL EITHER SUE USING THE LEMON LAW, OR TRADE IN FOR ANOTHER MAKE OF VEHICLE.
CRACKED WINDSHIELD
SINCE THE CAR HAS BEEN BRAND NEW, A HALF GALLON OF COOLANT HAS NEEDED TO BE ADDED TO THE CAR ON A MONTHLY BASIS. NO LEAKS HAVE BEEN DETECTED. THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A VERY STRONG ODOR OF BURNING COOLANT. DEALER STATES THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE 2.5L ENGINE, SO THERE IS NOTHING TO REPAIR, JUST KEEP AN EYE ON THE COOLANT LEVEL. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH SUBARU OF NORTH AMERICA, AND RECEIVED A SIMILAR RESPONSE. BOTH THE DEALER AND SUBARU STATE IT IS UNKNOWN HOW TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE AS THEY CAN NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM CAUSING THE LOSS OF COOLANT. DEALER JUST KEEPS TOPPING OFF THE SYSTEM, AND STATING THAT THEY STILL HAVE NO SOLUTION.
WINDSHIELD CRACKED FOR NO REASON AND THE CRACKS ARE SPREADING.
CRACKED WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING, POSSIBLY FROM A ROCK. I HAVE NO PICTORAL EVIDENCE BUT I HAVE THE REPAIR RECEIPTS.
SMALL ROCK HIT WINDSHIELD AND IT CAUSED A HUGE CRACK IN MARCH 2019 AND THEN AGAIN IN NOVEMBER 2019. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT HAPPENED. IT SHOULD HAVE CAUSE NO DAMAGE OR JUST A LITTLE CHIP, NOT HUGE CRACKS. THE WINDSHIELD APPEARS TO BE WEAK.
INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. HAS HAPPENED ON STRAIGHT ROADS AND ON CURVED EXITS. SPEEDS FROM 30-60MPH. DRY PAVEMENT, NO SAND/MUD/OTHER HAZARDS. HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY A DOZEN TIMES TOTAL. LANE ASSIST IS TURNED OFF.
I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN MARCH OF 2018. AFTER ONLY 1 YEAR THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED. I DID NOT SEE WHERE THE INITIAL CHIP WAS AND CAME OUT TO MY CAR ONE MORNING AND SAW THE WINDSHIELD COMPLETELY CRACKED. I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW EXPENSIVE THE RECALIBRATION WAS SO I FILED AN INSURANCE CLAIM. I STILL HAD TO PAY AROUND $300 TO GET IT FIXED BECAUSE AGAIN, RECALIBRATION COSTS AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT FOR SOME REASON. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW I GOT OFF LIGHT AS HAVING IT DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP WAS QUOTED TO ME AS COSTING $850. IT IS NOW ONLY 7 MONTHS LATER AND MY WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROSS AGAIN. I DIDN'T SEE THE CHIP AT FIRST UNTIL IT HAD BEGUN TO CRACK A TINY AMOUNT. AS I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY IT SPREAD ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. BECAUSE I SAW IT EARLY I PLANNED TO GET IT FIXED THE NEXT DAY TO HOPEFULLY AVOID ANOTHER FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS OF EXPENSE. UNFORTUNATELY, IT SPREAD ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT IRREPARABLE WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF MY FINDING IT. AGAIN, THIS WAS WITH ME DRIVING LESS THAN 30 MPH WITH NO HEAT ON BECAUSE IT'S COLD OUTSIDE AND I KNOW HOT AND COLD MAKE IT WORSE. I HAVE NEVER HAD A WINDSHIELD CRACK LIKE THIS AND MORE THAN ONCE WITHIN A 1 YEAR TIME FRAME. THESE WINDSHIELDS SEEM TO BE MADE VERY CHEAPLY AT THE EXPENSE OF SAFETY. I CAN'T AFFORD TO MAKE ANOTHER INSURANCE CLAIM OR PAY THIS OUT OF POCKET. I TOOK EVERY PRECAUTION AS A DRIVER AND THIS STILL HAPPENED. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SUBARU AND MAY SELL THIS ONE IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING BECAUSE I SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX THIS ALL OF THE TIME AND MORE IMPORTANTLY I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.
I HAVE REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD 3 TIMES ALREADY. TINY ROCKS ARE CAUSING LARGE CRACKS LIKE I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE IN OTHER VEHICLES. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
I NOTICED A SMALL CRACK IN THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. I DID NOT SEE OR HEAR A ROCK OR ITEM HIT THE WINDSHIELD, I ONLY SAW THE RESULT ' THE CRACK. EACH DAY THE CRACK GREW LONGER. ONCE IT WAS APPROXIMATELY A FOOT LONG, I CALLED TO GET IT REPAIRED. *TR
THE BATTERY HAS DIED RANDOMLY OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS. WE FINALLY REPLACED IT AFTER BEING FED UP WITH BEING STRANDED IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. MOST RECENTLY, IT DIED TWICE WITHIN A WEEK. BOTH TIMES I DROVE TO WORK, PARKED AND 2 HOURS LATER, THE CAR HAD TO BE JUMPED TO START. I TOOK THE CAR TO SUBARU AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $250 TO INSERT THE SAME BATTERY.
A CRACK IN WINDSHIELD JUST APPEARED AND STARTED TO SPREAD SO WE TOOK IT TO MARK'S MOBILE GLASS IN JEFFERSON CITY, MO TO GET REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 SUBARU OUTBACK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH A SMALL PEBBLE MADE CONTACT WITH THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CAUSING THE GLASS WINDSHIELD TO CRACK. ALSO, THE FRONT GLASS WINDSHIELD HAD EXPERIENCED SEVERAL CRACKS PREVIOUSLY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
I HEARD THE NOISE OF A PEBBLE HITTING THE WINDSHIELD ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING BETWEEN 60 AND 70 MPH. LESS THAN A MINUTE LATER, A CRACK APPEARED VERTICALLY FROM THE BOTTOM CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. LATER, THE CRACK BECAME A "T" AND GREW HORIZONTALLY. THE NEXT DAY WHEN THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER WAS ON, THE CRACK CONTINUED TO GROW TO ABOUT A FOOT AND A HALF. THE WINDSHIELD HAD TO BE REPLACED AT THIS POINT.
THE DRIVER'S SEAT CONTINUOUSLY SQUEAKS WHILE DRIVING. SUBARU DEALER SAYS I NEED A NEW SEAT BOTTOM. APPARENTLY, THERE ARE OTHER VEHICLES AND YEARS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE.
BATTERY ACID HAS LEAKED FROM BATTERY AND ALL OVER BRACKETS AND BOLTS. BATTERY HAS LOW CHARGE VOLTAGE.
OCTOBER 22ND, 2019 MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED OUT OF THE BLUE AS I WAS SITTING WAITING FOR MY KIDS TO GET OUT OF SCHOOL.
WINDSHIELD CRACKED WHILE DRIVING.
MY WINDSHIELD HAS CRACKED TWICE SINCE LAST YEAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT NEW.
CVT TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED. 2018 SUBARU OUTBACK, 47,000 MILES. CAR ONLY 18 MONTHS OLD. WIFE AND KIDS IN THE CAR IT WAS VERY SCARY MOMENT. THE CAR STARED TO SHUTTERED ACCELERATING FORM A STOP. THEN AT 40 TO 50 MPH, THE RPMS BECAME ERRATIC SHIFTING UP DOWN, TO MAINTAIN SPEED. IT LIKE IT WAS CONFUSED, WHICH GEAR TO BE IN. THEN CAME TO A STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, CAR SHUTTERED AND LOUD BANG, NO GEARS. CAR WOULD NOT GO SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS, SUBARU NEED TO FIX THIS, IT DANGEROUS DEFECT AND EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR.
MULTIPLE CHIPS INVOLVING THE WINDSHIELD, WITHOUT OBVIOUS REASON
FRONT WINDSHIELD CRACKED BY ITSELF WHILE BEING STATIONARY IN A NEAR-EMPTY PARKING LOT (ONLY TWO CARS IN THE PARKING LOT INCLUDING MINE). HAPPENED ON OCT 10, 2019 BETWEEN 10-11:30AM. PARKED THE CAR IN THE LOT AND WENT INSIDE BUILDING FOR 90 MINUTES. WHEN I CAME OUT I NOTICED A LARGE CRACK IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD ORIGINATING AT THE DEICER AREA IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CRACK PATTERN SEEMS SIMILAR TO THE 2015/2016 OUTBACK/LEGACY CRACKED WINDSHIELD ISSUE (SUBARU BULLETIN #12-192-15R). OTHER SUBARU OUTBACK OWNERS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR ISSUES FOR RECENT OUTBACK YEAR MODELS BASED ON GOOGLE SEARCH OF SUBARU FORUMS. TOLD SUBARU DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ASKED ME TO REPLACE WINDSHIELD USING AUTO-INSURANCE GLASS COVERAGE. I HAVE REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD USING MY INSURANCE AND ALSO PAID (VIA INSURANCE CLAIM) FOR EYESIGHT CALIBRATION AS REQUIRED BY SUBARU.
