RECENTLY THE "ABS" AND "BRAKE" LIGHT CAME UP; NOW THESE LIGHT COME UP AND STAY ON FOR SOME TIME- SIMULTANEOUSLY; THE NEEDLES OF THE MPH, RPM, H/C, AND GAS GAUGE DROPS- THE PRM NEEDLES FLICKER UP AND DOWN. ALSO, THE TEMPERATURE MARKER DOESN'T WORK. THE MPH HITS DOWN TO '0' WHEN I AM ON THE ROAD AT NORMAL SPEED. BUT I DON'T KNOW MY SPEED. MY AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I ALSO NOTICE THAT IT DOESN'T TRACK THE "TRIP' MILES WHEN IT IS OUT OF CONTROL (ALTHOUGH I HAVEN'T NOTICED IF IT FAILS TO TRACK THE MILEAGE ON THE ODOMETER. THEN THIS 'PROBLEM' STOPS AND THE CAR GOES BACK TO "NORMAL." A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM CAN LAST FOR 5 MINUTES TO 20 MINUTES. I CALLED TOYOTA SERVICE'S 800 NUMBER AFTER SEARCHING THE WEB AND READING SIMILAR PROBLEMS BEING DOCUMENTED. ONE PERSON POSTED 'I CALLED THE TOYOTA CORPORATE OFFICE IN 2012', YET WHEN I CALLED TOYOTA CLAIMED NO KNOWLEDGE. THE PERSON I SPOKE TO EVEN SAID THEY HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL ABOUT THIS BEFORE. SOME OF THE POSTS ONLINE OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE STATE THE EXACT THING TOYOTA TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. I TRIED TO DEFROST MY WINDOWS AND HAD AN ISSUE WITH THAT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ON THE "ABS" "BRAKE" AND THE CAR WAS ACTING UP. MY CAR TESTED POSITIVE FOR OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM AND I AM WAITING TO GET THAT REPLACED. NOW THIS STARTED HAPPENING. THIS "NEW" PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND CORRECTED BY TOYOTA.
THE INSTRUMENT THAT SHOW SPEED, RPM, GASOLINE, ETC WAS GOING WARY. THE SPEED AND THE RPM GO UP AND DOWN, BRAKE LIGHT COME ON, ABS LIGHT COME ON, ETC. I DO NOT HOW FAST I DRIVE. THIS HAPPENED AROUND EVERY 5 MINS, RANDOMLY AND LAST FOR 1 MINS SOMETIMES 10 MINS. THE AIR CONDITIONING STOP WORKING DURING THIS TIME. I CHECKED ONLINE AND I SAW MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM, THERE IS NOT RELATE ISSUE WITH THE WAY YOU DRIVE, THE WAY YOU DO ANYTHING IN THE CAR. I USED THE CARD SINCE NEW AND THE MILEAGE CURRENTLY ONLY 103K+, FOR 9 YEARS OLD CAR THIS IS VERY LOW MILEAGE.
WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE (STATIONARY OR MOVING) THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WILL INTERMITTENTLY PROVIDE FALSE/NO INFORMATION. SOME OF THE KNOWN SYMPTOMS INCLUDE THE FLASHING OF THE MALFUNCTION LIGHTS FOR THE ABS SYSTEM AND PARKING BRAKE, THE GAUGE NEEDLES SHOWING ZERO WHILE MOVING OR BOUNCING INTERMITTENTLY, AND THE A/C SYSTEM BEING INOPERATIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHED, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE FLUCTUATED FROM COLD TO HOT, THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO, AND THE OIL AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSOCIATED WITH THE ABS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
MY 2007 CAMRY HYBRID HAS 200210 MILES AND HAD A BRAKE ACCUMULATOR SYSTEM FAILURE. RECEIVED WARNING OF CHECK VSC SYSTEM AND ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. HEAVY FORCE WAS REQUIRED TO STOP THE CAR. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THE ERROR CLEARED. AFTER DRIVING 30 MILES THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND TOYOTA CAMPAIGN EXPIRED 5 MONTHS AGO FOR UNLIMITED MILEAGE. IN DATE SERVICE WAS 2/26/2007
AFTER SWERVING/BRAKING TO AVOID COLLISION IN INTERSECTION, VEHICLE DASH WARNING INDICATORS FOR BRAKE, ABS, AND CHECK VSC ALL ILLUMINATED. WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING TO DESTINATION WHILE BRAKING CAUTIOUSLY AND TOOK CAR TO TOYOTA DEALER THE NEXT DAY. DEALER CONFIRMED THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT SPENDING THE $2000+ (I WAS 700 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT END DATE) TO FIX IT. AFTER REVIEWING THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS ON MY VEHICLE, THIS WILL BE THE 3RD BRAKE ACTUATOR IN THIS VEHICLE. HOW CAN A MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGE AN ISSUE WITH A CRITICAL SYSTEM LIKE THIS, BUT GET AWAY WITHOUT A RECALL? AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE MEAN TIME BETWEEN FAILURE OF A CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM SUCH AS THIS NEEDS TO BE UNDERTAKEN AS THIS IS CRIMINAL.
I ADHERED TO THE RECALL ZE7 OIL CONSUMPTION TEST NOTICE ISSUED BY TOYOTA. OVER THE NEXT 6MONTHS WATER/COOLANT WAS LEAKING INTO MY ENGINE THROUGH WHAT I LEARNED COULD HAVE BEEN A FAULTY ENGINE HEAD GASKET. MY 2007 CAMRY HAD NEVER RUN HOT BEFORE TOYOTA TOOK MY ENGINE APART AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. THEY DO NOT WANT TO ADMIT THEIR ERROR. THE OIL DIP STICK SHOWED SIGNS OF WATER OIL MIXTURE. LATER IT WAS LIKE MILK. THIS IS WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED ON ME IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC FROM OVER HEATING. I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH THE DEALER AND TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS SINCE APRIL 2016 TO RESOLVED THIS. GOT THE RUN AROUND. SOME TECHNICIAN WAS SCHEDULED TO REVIEW THIS IN APRIL AND MAY 2016 BUT HAS NOT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. IN FEBRUARY 2016 TOYOTA TOOK POSSESSION OF MY VEHICLE FOR 3-4 WEEKS TO REPAIR OR REBUILD THE ENGINE TO COMPLY WITH THE RECALL REQUIREMENTS. I WAS PROVIDED A LOANER CAR DURING THAT PERIOD. DURING THE LESS THAN 2 MONTH PERIOD BETWEEN WHEN MY CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME ON 2/18/16 AND APRIL 10, 2016, I DID NOT TAKE MY CAR TO ANY REPAIR SHOP NOR DID I TOUCH THE ENGINE FOR ANY REASON. APPARENTLY TOYOTA DID NOT PROPERLY REPAIR THE VEHICLE WHEN THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE DONE. ON 4/10/16, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE, THE ENGINE SELF-DESTRUCTED, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE, SMOKE ENGULFED THE ENGINE AND THEN IT CEASED RUNNING. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR WARRANTY REPAIR. ON 4/11/16, I CALLED TOYOTA FOR WARRANTY PAYMENT TO BE MADE TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THE ENGINE COULD BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED, I WAS TOLD THAT FIRST I HAD TO PAY FOR THE $5,800 WORK TO BE DONE AND THEN TOYOTA WOULD REIMBURSE ME ONCE I SHOWED THAT I HAD ALL MY SERVICE RECEIPTS THAT I HAD PROPERLY MAINTAINED MY VEHICLE. THIS WAS AN OUTRAGEOUS POSITION FOR TOYOTA TO TAKE, BECAUSE THE CAR WAS RELEASED TO ME AFTER TOYOTA THOROUGHLY WORKED ON IT FOR 3-4 WEEKS AND INSPECTED IT BEFORE RELEASING THE CAR TO ME ON 2/18/16. WHAT POSSIBLE MAINTENANCE WOULD I HAVE DONE IN UNDER TWO (2) MONTHS. I AM ALSO A LOW INCOME WAGE EARNER AND TO REQUIRE ME TO FUND $5,800 AND WAIT FOR REIMBURSEMENT WAS UNDULY BURDENSOME. COUPLE WITH THE FACT THAT THE TOYOTA OF PRINCETON INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD NOT BE GIVEN A COMPLIMENTARY LOANER CAR DURING THE REPAIR PERIOD. THE COST OF ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION AND ADVANCING $5,800 WAS IMPOSSIBLE AND A CLEVER WAY FOR TOYOTA TO AVOID THEIR FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY UNDER THE WARRANTY. INSTEAD, I SAW NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO ACCEPT THE OFFER OF PRINCETON TOYOTA TO GIVE ME $2000 CREDIT TOWARD THE PRICE OF A USED CAR.
BRAKE ACTUATOR FAILURE. BRAKES MAKING CHIRPING NOISE WHEN YOU DEPRESS PEDDLE. CHECK VSC SYSTEM LIGHT COME ON. THIS IS THE SECOND BRAKE ACTUATOR FAILURE RESULTING IN REPLACEMENT OF UNIT.
THE FLEXPLATE SHREDDED FROM THE MOUNTING TO THE ENGINE AND TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH. THE PROBLEM WAS NOTICED WHILE IT WAS AT THE TOYOTA SERVICE GARAGE. IT ALL FELL APART AS THEY WERE DISMANTLING IT. THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY CAUSING THE POWER TRAIN TO SEIZE UP AND DISCHARGE FLYING METAL.
MY CAMRY HAS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND OIL NEEDED TO BE CHANGED ONCE AGAIN IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS. TOYOTA HAS A RECALL ON OIL BURNING UP BUT THEY CHECKED LAST TIME AND SAID IT'S OKAY. EVIDENTLY IT'S NOT. THE MECHANIC RECOMMENDED BRAKE BOOSTER FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT ISSUE WHICH COSTS FROM $750-$1,200 WHICH IS HARD TO AFFORD. THIS KIND OF ISSUE CAN COST YOUR LIFE. TOYOTA NEEDS TO RECALL THIS AND FIX IT SINCE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.
MY CAR BURNS ONE QUARTET OF OIL FOR EVERY 1000 MILES , ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO OIL LEAKAGE ON EITHER ENGINE OR GROUND. THERE IS NO SMOKE EITHER. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP HAS REFUSED TO ADMIT THAT BURNING 3 QUARTETS OF OIL FOR EVERY 3000 MILE IS NOT NORMAL . THIS CAR IS A TOYOTA CAMRY SE 2007
TOYOTA HAS ADMITTED ON 2011 IN ITS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT THE ENGINE DEFECT IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY EXHIBITS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION DUE TO THE DESIGN DEFECT OF THE 2AZ-FE ENGINE. IT REQUIRES A PISTON ASSEMBLY CHANGE TO MINIMIZE OIL CONSUMPTION HOWEVER THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPAIR IT AT THEIR OWN COST, THIS IS A VERY SIGNIFICANT REPAIR COSTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER REPAIRS TO THE ENGINE DUE TO AN ARBITRARY 150,000 MILE LIMIT AND A VERY LIMITED TIME WINDOW BETWEEN 2015 TO 2016, AFTER I HAD ALREADY SPENT MONEY ON REPAIRS. THIS ALSO DIMINSHES THE VALUE OF MY CAR AND MORE IMPORTANTLY EXPOSES OUR FAMILY TO SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUES. THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO LOSE OIL, AND THE ENGINE BECOMES COMPLETELY DEPLETED OF OIL AT THE TIME OF AN OIL CHANGE (EVERY 3,000 MILES) WHICH CAN LEAD TO ENGINE FAILURE IN A MOVING VEHICLE AND POTENTIAL INJURY AND LOSS OF LIFE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS DEFECT AND TOYOTA REFUSES TO FIX.
WAS DRIVING, AND HYBRID SYSTEM CHECK LIGHT CAME ON...CONTINUED DRIVING SLOWLY THEN CAR LOST A BIT OF POWER..LIKE PARKING BREAK WAS ON AND VCS FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON. DROVE HOME AFTER WITH HYBRID SYSTEM CHECK STILL ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A MANUFACTURER'S SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN FOR THE WATER PUMP. DURING THE DISSEMBLING OF THE VEHICLE, THE TECHNICIAN NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A 2003 MOTOR AND THAT THE REPAIRS COULD NOT BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLES WATER PUMP AND TENSIONERS WERE REPAIRED, HOWEVER DURING A TEST DRIVE AT THE DEALER THE TECHNICIAN BLEW A BLOCK IN THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED A NEW MOTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
WHEN SHIFTED INTO REVERSE WHILE CAR NOT ON OR WHEN CAR ON BUT KEY NOT DETECTED OR DURING DELAY BETWEEN KEY DETECTION CAR WILL ROLL BACKWARDS BUT WILL NOT ALLOW DRIVER TO DRIVE FORWARD.
EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE
I DON'T HAVE RECEIVED MILE OF WARRANT COVERAGE FOR BRAKE ACTUATOR PROBLEM. THEY HAVE CAMPAIGNED ABOUT 177,000 CAR HAS PROBLEM ON 2014. MY CAR HAS BIG PROBLEM ON 2015. I WENT TO BODY SHOP AND RETAIL SHOP FOR BRAKE PROBLEM WITH STOP ON THE FREEWAY BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED ON 2015. BUT THEY CANNOT FIX IT BUT THE CAR STOPS ON THE FREEWAY ON 2014,2015 BUT. I CONTINUED DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH MONEY FOR THE FIXED. I WAS FIXED AFTER THIRD TIME STOP ON THE WAY MAY 2016. TOYOTA CENTER CHARGED $1,700 FOR FIXED BRAKE PROBLEM.
HOOD LATCH WILL NOT CONNECT THE PART THAT IS BROKE IS THE PIECE ATTACHED TO THE CAR NOT THE PIECE ON HOOD
THE TOYOTA WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROPGRAM (ZE1) IS A SHAM. MY 2007 CAMRY HYBRID HAS NO BRAKES, NO SKID CONTROL, AND GOES ON AND OFF WITHOUT WARNING. I TOOK MY CAR TO PERUZZI TOYOTA IN HATFIELD PA WHILE IT WAS "UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY" AND THEY FAILED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE WARNING LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF. I SHOWED PICTURE OF THE LIGHTS ON, AND FOLLOWED TOTYOA RECOMMENDED PROCEDURES ON THE ZE1 ISSUE. I TOOK IT BACK LATER TO SAME DEALER AND THE LIGHTS STAYED ON, AND THEY SAID YES IT IS PART OF THE ZE1 WARRANTY BUT NOW IT IS PAST THE TIME LIMIT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, TOYOTA IS SHIRKING THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT ISSUING A RECALL. THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE, DANGEROUS, AND AT $1500 PLUS IN NEED OF REPAIRS. THE PROBLEM CAN HAPPEN STATIONARY, MOVING OR FAILING TO STOP!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 32 MPH OVER A SHEET OF ICE, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL LIGHTLY AND THE VEHICLE SPUN TO THE RIGHT AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED BRUISING AND MINOR CUTS ON THE RIGHT HAND THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
WHEN I CHANGE BREAK PADS AND ROTORS THE VSC SYSTEM LIGHT IS ON.. BREAKS NO ENGAGED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THE CHECK HYBRID AND VCS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER NOR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
WHILE MY CAR WAS IN MOTION, MY VSC SYSTEM CHECK LIGHT WAS ON AND ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY THE CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM LIGHT WAS ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE CAR DID NOT LET ME ACCELERATE ABOVE 30MPH.N AND I COULD FEEL THE FRICTION WHILE ACCELERATING. I HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED.
I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY CARS OIL CONSUMPTION AND WAS NEVER NOTIFIED FROM TOYOTA THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BACK IN MAY 2015 FOR ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION REPAIR. THE SHOP IS NOW TELLING ME I HAVE A BLOWN PISTON FROM WHAT THEY CAN HEAR. I HAVE RECORDS THAT I NEVER MISSED AN OIL CHANGE AND EVEN HAVE PROOF FROM FIRESTONE COMPLETE CARE WHEN MY CAR WAS CHECKED FOR OIL LEAKS. THERE WERE NONE FOUND. TOYOTA IS REFUSING TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY SAID IT'S TOO LATE TO DO AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I ALSO SENT TOYOTA PROOF OF MY OIL CHANGES FROM FIRESTONE DATED 12/13/14, 4/11/15, 6/29/15, 8/22/15, 10/08/15, 11/14/15 AND 1/3/16. MY CAR WAS TOWED INTO COMMUNITY TOYOTA ON 3/23/16.
THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WILL TURN OFF WITHIN ABOUT 30 SECONDS OF TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON. THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT WILL BE ON AFTER TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF AND ON AGAIN. THIS PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT WILL THEN TURN OFF AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO 2 MINUTES. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED.
/C PROBLEMS. THE SERVICE GUY STATED THE PROBLEM WAS NOT WITH WORK TOYOTA DID ON THE CAR. IT HAS BEEN ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER. I LOVE MY TOYOTA. THIS IS LOUSY SERVICE. I KNOW IT HAS BEEN QUITE SOME TIME SINCE ALL OF THIS WAS DONE. I JUST HAVE NOT FELT UP TO VOICING MY COMPLAINT. UNHAPPY WITH TOYOTA SERVICE AT HERRIN GEAR TOYOTA IN JACKSON, MS.

LOW OIL DUE TO OVERVER-CONSUMPTION: MY CAR ENGINE OVERHEATED AND ALMOST BURNT BECAUSE OF OIL OVERCONSUMPTION AND I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR AND GET OIL CHANGE AND GOT A REPORT PROVING THE VERY LOW OIL LEVEL.
LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY I PARTIALLY RAN OVER A SMALL TREE STUMP, AND IT SEEMS FOR NO REASON SUDDEN ACCELERATION OCCURRED, I QUICKLY APPLIED MY FOOT TO THE BRAKE BUT EVEN WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR PROPELLED LIKE A RACE HORSE COMING OUT OF THE GATE. AND EVEN AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES THE CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN UNTIL I STEERED INTO WOODS TO STOP THE CAR. I AM NOT SURE IF DRIVING OVER THE SMALL STUMP HAD ANY BEARING ON THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION, BUT EVEN THE APPLICATION OF THE BREAKS WOULD NOT EITHER STOP THE CAR FROM ACCELERATING OUT OF CONTROL OR STOP THE CAR FROM HITTING THE TREE.
THE BOARD OF ALANTE MELTS WITH THE HEAT AND DOES NOT LET ME SEE WHY HE WAS MUCH BILLO AND I HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THAT PROBLEM NESECITO HELP
AFTER REAR-ENDING A CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 30MPH, MY SEAT BELT RELEASED AND AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. MY SEAT BELT HAD BEEN TIGHTLY LOCKED IN PLACE OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE PULLED BACK TO "NOT IN USE" POSITION. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS UNSAFE IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS I LOST ALL CONTROL OF MY BRAKES AND MY "CHECK VSC LIGHT", BRAKE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON. I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP MY CAR LIKE NORMAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. IT WAS VERY SCARY WHILE DRIVING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SOFTWARE ISSUE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND THE SOFTWARE WOULD NEED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
BRAKES SKIP NOW AND THEN BUT EVENTUALLY CATCH. TODAY WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 35MPH IN TOWN DRIVING STRAIGHT THE "CHECK VCS BRAKING SYSTEM" LIGHTS CAME ON AS WELL AS ANTI SKID LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT AND I LOST ALL BRAKES WHEN I STEPPED ON MY BRAKES TO STOP. SKID OFF ROAD AND CAR EVENTUALLY STOPPED BUT BRAKES WERE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I GOOGLED THE WARNING LIGHTS AND FOUND THAT IT WAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM. I DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL IF THERE WAS IN FACT ONE. CALLED THE TOYOTA DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT TO CONFIRM THAT IT IS INDEED A RECALL ISSUE.
THE CAR USING 1QT OF OIL EVERY 300 MILES , TOYOTA RAN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST , TOLD ME NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR , THE CAR STILL USING THE SAME AMOUNT OF OIL .

CAR IS MAKING A CHIRPING NOISE WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE BRAKE IN PARK. NOISE CAN ALSO BE HEARD WHEN YOU PUT HARDER PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES WHILST IN GEAR . BASED ON RESEARCH IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ACTUATOR MAY BE FAULTY. SO FAR I HAVE NOT HAD ANY LIGHTS ON THE DASH COME ON.

ON FEBRUARY 24, 2016, CAR BRAKES ON MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID LOCKED UP WHEN WE TRIED TO STOP AND ABOUT 4 LIGHTS CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD, ABS,VSC,WARNING LIGHT AND ANOTHER ONE. WE BARELY MANAGED TO GET OUT OF HARM'S WAY BUT AFTER THE GRINDING NOISE HAD LOST ALL EFFECTIVE POWER TO THE BRAKES. THE CAR ACTUALLY CAUGHT FIRE DUE TO THE INTENSE HEAT OF THE GRINDING OF THE PADS ON THE ROTORS BUT WAS SAFELY PUT OUT. AFTER REPLACING THE PADS, ROTOR AND CALLIPERS WE STILL WOUND UP TAKING THE CAR TO A DEALER BECAUSE THE BRAKE ACTUATOR OR SOMETHING RELATED WAS STILL NOT LETTING THE BRAKES WORK. THE DEALER HAS GIVEN US A LAME EXCUSE OF WHY THIS HAS HAPPENED AND IS BLAMING IT ON SOMETHING ELSE AND WANTS TO CHARGE US A LOT OF MONEY TO REPAIR IT. UPON RESEARCH, WE ARE FINDING OUT ABOUT THE ZE1 CAMPAIGN WHERE THEY HAD ACKNOWLEDGED THIS DEFECT. AND WERE REPAIRING ALL THE CARS THAT CAME IN WITH THE DEFECT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. CONTACTING TOYOTA HAS NOT HELPED AT ALL. WE ASKED FOR AN EMAIL ADDRESS BUT WERE TOLD THAT THESE ARE HANDLED BY MAIL ONLY. KNOWN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE THAT TOYOTA HAS CANCELLED WARRANTY IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TESTING. CAR USES OVER A QUART EVERY 1000 MILES. HORRIBLE
THE WATER TEMPERATURE, RPM GAUGE AND SPEEDOMETER RANDOMLY FLUCTUATE, ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. IT OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE MOVING OR STOP. THE MECHANICS TOLD ME THE ABS MODULE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FAILED HOWEVER THE BRAKING IS STILL FUNCTIONAL. THE ABS FUNCTION MIGHT STOP WORKING.
OIL CONSUMPTION: AFTER 1149 MI, I CHECKED MY OIL AND THERE WAS BARLEY ANY OIL IN THE CAR. THE CAR HAS 149,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER SAID THAT USING A QT. OF OIL EVERY 1000 MI. WAS NORMAL. THEY SAID IT PASSED THE RECALL WHICH WAS TESTED AT 1000 MI. THEY REFUSED TO FIXED THE PROBLEM.
IN THE FRONT PANEL AREA, WHERE THE GEAR SHIFTER IS, THERE'S A SMALL COMPARTMENT HOUSING A SWITCH WITH WHICH I CAN MANUALLY PRESS TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE WHEN THE CAR WON'T DO THIS BY POSITIONING THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO THE REVERSE POSITION BY PULLING IT DOWN.. MY PROBLEM IS, WHEN I TAKE IT TO BE CHECKED..THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO IF IT'S NOT HAPPENING AT THE TIME I BRING IT IN, WHICH IS ALWAYS THE CASE AS IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY, BUT NEVER DOES IT WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP! THIS IS FRUSTRATING AND HAS CAUSED PROBLEMS IN DIFFERENT WAYS. I HOPE SOMEONE TAKES NOTICE OF MY PROBLEM WHILE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS STILL IN EFFECT SO THAT I CAN GET THIS FIXED.
