BURNING OIL AT A HIGH RATE. I HAVE TO ADD OIL EVERY 500 MILES OR SO. WE HAVE ALWAYS FOLLOWED A PLAN OF CHANGING THE OIL EVERY 3 MONTHS OR ABOUT 4000 MILES. SINCE ABOUT FEB 2016, THIS HIGH CONSUMPTION ISSUE HAS EXISTED ON THIS VEHICLE. WE'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE 2007.
THIS CAR IS BURNING THROUGH OIL IN BETWEEN CHANGES. THE ABS SYSTEM HAS ALSO FAILED. NO MAJOR PROBLEMS, JUST ANNOYING.
DRIVING HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AND DASHBOARD LIT UP, TRIED TO BRAKE AND VERY LITTLE BRAKE, EVENTUALLY STOP WITH VERY LITTLE CONTROL ON BRAKE. DASHBOARD SAYS "CHECK VSC SYSTEM". RESEARCH SHOWS ITS COVERED HERE. I CALLED TOYOTA AND TOLD THEM I WASN'T INFORMED AND ONLY FOUND OUT ON THE DAY I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT 1/28/16 THAT THERE IS A RECALL. TOYOTA SAID THEY DON'T CARE AS LONG AS THEY SHOW THAT THE NOTICE WAS MAILED OUT. TOYOTA SHOULD BE FORCED TO HAVE A NO LIMIT MILEAGE ELSE, THEY'RE NOT GOING TO MAKE ALL THE EFFORT TO HAVE PEOPLE KNOW THE RECALL.
THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS OF MY TOYOTA 2007 CAMRY COME ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON, THE WHOLE DASHBOARD READERS; THE SPEEDOMETER, RPM, ENGINE TEMPERATURE AND OTHER GAUGES JUMP AND FLICKER, THE LIGHT MARKERS FOR TRANSMISSION GEAR AND PARKING GO OFF. THE AC UNIT ALSO DID NOT WORK. I WENT TO DEALER TO GET IT CHECKED OUT BUT THERE WERE NO CODES TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD TO COME BACK AGAIN WHEN IT HAPPENS FOR LONGER THAN A DAY. IT KEEPS HAPPENING AT VARIOUS TIMES OF THE DAY (MORNING AND EVENING), WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED OR MOVING, AND ON ALL TYPES OF ROADS AND DRIVING CONDITIONS (CITY STREETS, HIGHWAY, AT A STOP LIGHT, AT A STOP SIGN, WHEN I AM TURNING). I HAVE NOTICED THAT TOYOTA HAS ALREADY ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE FOR THE 2007 CAMRY HYBRID. GIVEN THE SHEER NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR THE REGULAR CAMRY 2007, IT SEEMS RIDICULOUS THAT TOYOTA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS FOR THE 2007 CAMRY.
ENGINE CONSUMED 4 QTS OF OIL BEFORE REGULAR 3000MI OIL CHANGE, NOW ENGINE IS MAKING NOISE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE CHECK VSC WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REQUIRED ADDITIONAL BRAKING DISTANCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, WITH EXTREME PRESSURE BEING EXERTED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN THE BREAK LIGHT LIT UP ON THE DASH. WITHIN A MINUTE AFTER THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH CHECK PARKING BREAK AND CHECK VSC SYTEM AND THE GENERAL HAZARD LIGHT ALL WERE ON. I TRIED TO BREAK AND PULL OVER AND WHEN I DID I REALIZE I COULD NOT STOP. THE ASSIST BREAKS HAD BEEN COMPLETELY DISABLED AND I HAD TO PUSH VERY VERY HARD TO SLOW DOWN. I HAD TO ALSO USE THE PARKING BREAK TO ASSIST ME . WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN THE BREAKS ARE BACK AS IF NOTHING WAS WRONG. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES EACH WITH A VERY FRIGHTENING WITHOUT WARNING EXPERIENCE. MY MECHANIC SAYS THERE ARE NO CODES SHOWING WHAT IS HAPPENING. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO KILL SOMEONE. ESPECIALLY A NEW DRIVER OR AN ELDERLY PERSON THAT SIMPLY WOULD NOT HAVE THE GREAT DEAL OF POWER NEEDED OR THE REFLEXES TO SLOW DOWN WHEN THE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!
ON TWO OCCASIONS, WHILE TRAVELING BETWEEN 40-50 MPH, THE BRAKES STARTED APPLYING REPEATEDLY ON THEIR OWN AFTER I HAD PUSHED ON THE PEDAL TO SLOW THE CAR. THIS CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES EVEN AFTER BRINGING THE CAR TO A STOP. THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT HISSING SOUND FROM THE AREA OF THE PEDALS. THE PAVEMENT WAS DRY AND SMOOTH BOTH TIMES. THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED ABOUT 1 MONTH APART. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS ON A HIGHWAY WHILE MAKING A SLIGHT CURVE TO AN EXIT RAMP. THE SECOND TIME WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET IN MODERATE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC. AFTER PULLING OVER, THE CAR WOULD MOVE SLOWLY FORWARD AFTER I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE IN A SLOW JERKING MOTION WHILE THE BRAKES APPLIED THEMSELVES AND CONTINUED WITH THE HISSING NOISE. AFTER SHUTTING IGNITION OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR, THE PROBLEM STOPPED. MY MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. SEEMS TO BE A BRAKING ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND TOYOTA SHOULD STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY BEFORE A TRAGEDY OCCURS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LOW OIL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE OWNER OF TOYOTA'S LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN (ZE7). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED PER THE EXPIRED CAMPAIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
TWICE IN THE PAST TWO DAYS, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY ABS AND CHECK VSC LIGHTS CAME ON. THE FIRST TIME, NOTHING APPEARED TO HAPPEN TO THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN THE LIGHTS. TODAY HOWEVER, I WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN THE LIGHTS CAME ON. LUCKILY, I WAS APPROACHING CONGESTED TRAFFIC AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN NATURALLY. AS I CAME TO THE TRAFFIC AND WAS DRIVING AT ROUGHLY 15MPH, I TRIED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE AND IT WENT DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR AND DID NOT APPLY ANY BRAKE PRESSURE OR STOP THE CAR IN ANY WAY. I PUMPED THE BRAKES WHILE VEERING ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE CAR DID NOT STOP AT ALL AND I WAS FORCED TO COAST TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF A 5 LANE HIGHWAY, WHERE SPEEDS OFTEN REACH 70MPH OR HIGHER. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. I CALLED LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO CHECK THE CAR. THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE ME $110 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS ALL I KNOW AT THIS POINT. I ALSO INDEPENDENTLY RESEARCHED THE WARNING LIGHTS AND FOUND ARTICLES STATING THAT THIS IS HAPPENING FAIRLY FREQUENTLY AND THAT THE NHTSA IS INVESTIGATING. THAT ARTICLE ALSO STATED THAT THE REPAIR CAN COST UPWARDS OF $2,200. THE CAR IS ABSOLUTELY UNFIT FOR THE ROAD. I CAN'T DRIVE A VEHICLE WHERE THE BREAKS COULD STOP WORKING AT ANY MOMENT AND WITH VERY LITTLE WARNING. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY ISSUE WITH THE BREAKS THEMSELVES, WHEN WORKING PROPERLY. IT APPEARS TO BE PURELY A COMPUTER PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THE BREAKS TO NOT ENGAGE.
MY TWO SONS WERE INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT TO WHERE MY CAR ENDED UP BEING TOTALED AND WHAT IS DISTURBING TO ME IS THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT TIME OF IMPACT. THE BRUNT OF THE DAMAGE WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHICH IS WHERE MY 13 YEAR OLD WAS SITTING.
THE IGNITION OF MY 07 TOYOTA CAMRY WAS CONTINUE RUNNING WITHOUT THE CAR KEYS. THE CAR IS NOT AUTOSTART. I MADE VIDEO BUT UNABLE TO UPLOAD HERE. I CAN EMAIL THE VIDEO IF YOU NEED FOR EVIDENCE.
"CHECK VSC SYSTEM" WHEN I TOOK MY CAR OUT THIS MORNING, I GOT A WARNING LIGHT SAYING "CHECK VSC SYSTEM". MY BRAKE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHTS ARE ALSO ON. THE CAR BRAKES WITH A JERK AND I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING QUITE OFTEN. COMPLAINTS TO THE TOYOTA DEALER DID NOT HELP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,500.
THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL. THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL HOWEVER, I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE BURNING OF THE OIL IN THE ENGINE. FOR OVER 2 YEARS, I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE OIL BURNING IN MY CAR AND HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS OF TIMES TO COMPLAINT THAT MY OIL LIGHT WAS ON WITH A FEW WEEKS OF GETTING A OIL CHANGE. I PAID NUMEROUS OF TIMES FOR ADDITIONAL OIL FOR MY CAR AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OIL IN MY CAR. I WAS TOLD THE CAR IS OLDER AND THE MORE MILES ON THE CAR, THE VEHICLE WILL BURN LOTS OF OIL. I HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP MANY TIMES FOR OIL CHANGES AND REPAIRS FOR PREVIOUS RECALLS HOWEVER, I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE ENGINE OIL BURNING RECALL IN MY VEHICLE. AFTER BEING NOTIFIED BY A RENTAL CAR REPRESENTATIVE AT A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ABOUT AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, I CALLED PRIORITY CHEVROLET GREENBRIER TO GET THE TEST DONE SINCE I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THAT PRIORITY DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE SPEED OF GETTING AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY OIL CHANGES. I WAS TOLD I NEED TO GO TO PRIORITY TOYOTA TO HAVE IT DONE SINCE MY CAR IS A TOYOTA. NEVER ONCE HAVE A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISE ME OF THE BURNING OF OIL WITH 07 CAMRY. NOW THAT I HAVE THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST DONE, THE SERVICE REP SAYS THAT THE RECALL HAS EXPIRED EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND THAT I HAVE TO PAY $2,200 FOR THE REPAIR. I BELIEVE, I AM ENTITLE TO THIS REPAIR KNOWING THAT TOYOTA NEVER NOTIFIED ME AND THAT I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS AND NOT ONE SERVICE PERSON HAS THE DECENCY TO INFORM ME OF THIS RECALL.
MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA'S DASHBOARD COVER IS A STICKY GOOEY MESS.
DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL UNEXPECTEDLY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. HEADLIGHTS WILL BE OPERATING NORMALLY AND WITHOUT REASON, ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT. THIS PRESENTS A DANGER TO ME IN MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. IF I TURN OFF THE HEADLIGHTS AND TURN THEM ON AGAIN, THE LIGHTS WILL GO BACK ON BUT YOU DON'T KNOW FOR HOW LONG BEFORE THEY GO OUT AGAIN. MINE IS A 2007 TOYOTA SOLARA WITH APPROXIMATELY 85,000 MILES. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I'VE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE FROM OTHER SOLARA AND PRIUS OWNERS.
THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES. FIRST STICKY DASH BOARD .. WAS TOLD I'M BEING PUT ON A WAITING LIST FOR PART. IT'S BEEN MONTHS STILL NO WORD. 2ND OIL CONSUMPTION IS RIDICULOUS. . OIL RUNS OUT WAY BEFORE IT'S TIME FOR OIL CHANGE EVERY TIME .. NO OIL LEAKS ANYWHERE .. CAR JUST BURNS OIL SUPER FAST NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS WITH ANY CAR I'VE OWNED ..3RD THE CAR VIBRATES WHEN IN YOU HIT AROUND 40 MPH AT 1.5 RPM DOESNT DO IT AS MUCH WHEN CAR DOESNT GO IN OVERDRIVE IN 4TH GEAR .. WAS TOLD THIS MAY BE A COMPUTER PROGRAMING ISSUE .. 4TH MY DRIVER SIDE BACK SEAT MAT IS MELTED TO THE FLOOR. I WAS TOLD SOMETHING UNDER THE CAR MAY BE GETTING TO HOT. NEVER GOT ANY REAL ANSWERS TO MY CONCERNS .
THE DASH MELTS IN THE HEAT CAUSING IT TO BECOME VERY SHINY CAUSING HUGE AREAS WHEN THE SUN SHINES TO REFLECT ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. THIS GLARE IS SO BAD IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR OTHER THAN THE REFLECTION OF THE DASH
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR NEIGHBORHOODS THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD GO TO 0 INDICATING THAT THE SPEED OF THE CAR WAS UNKNOWN. NOT KNOWING WHAT SPEED YOU ARE DRIVING ALLOWS FOR EXCESSIVE SPEED AND COULD EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR GET STOPPED FOR SPEEDING. THE ABS MODULE IS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT OIL NEEDED TO BE ADDED TO THE VEHICLE EVERY WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT NO OIL LEAK WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 210,000.
ALL THE DASHBOARD BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, AND A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER ALL THE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THE BRAKES BECAME HARD TO PUSH AS IF THEY WERE FIGHTING ME. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES THE LIGHTS WENT OFF AND THE BRAKES FELT NORMAL AGAIN. THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING TODAY. THE BIGGER WORRY IS THAT IT HAPPENED TEN DAYS AGO ALSO. ONCE ON A CITY STREET AND ONCE ON THE INTERSTATE. I TOOK THE CAR TO TWO DIFFERENT SHOPS (ONE WAS A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN MARIETTA, GEORGIA) AND THEY BOTH RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. BUT I HAVE AN UNSAFE CAR WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS!
MY 07 CAMRY RUNS COMPLETELY OUT OF OIL BEFORE IT'S TIME FOR IT TO BE CHANGED. I HAVE HAD THE CAR CHECKED FOR OIL LEAKS AND HAS PASSED EACH TIME. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I HAVE FOUND THAT THE MORE MILES ON THE CAR THE FASTER IT RUNS THE OIL OUT AND WITH THAT BEING SAID I NOW HAVE ENGINE DAMAGE. NOT TO MENTION THIS CAR HAS BEEN THE ABSOLUTE WORST. I PUT MY VISORS DOWN ONE TIME AND HAD TO TAKE THEM OFF BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T GO BACK UP. THE POWER CONTROLS IN MY CAR DON'T WORK. I ALSO FOUND OUT TONIGHT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE GAS PEDAL IN THIS DEATH TRAP THAT HAPPENED BEFORE I OWNED IT THAT I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF BUT KNEW SOMETHING HAD TO BE WRONG WITH IT BECAUSE IT KEPT STICKING!! I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON DEALING WITH THIS AND FIND IT OUTRAGEOUS THAT IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. MY CHILDREN USED TO RIDE IN THAT CAR!! IT IS A TICKING TIME BOMB AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!
WHILE DRIVING ON A LOCAL STREET I NOTICED THE RED BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN JUST A FEW SECONDS LATER MULTIPLE LIGHTS CAME ON, MASTER WARNING LIGHT, ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE WARNING, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, SLIP INDICATOR, AND CHECK VSC SYSTEM AND I HAD NO BRAKING CAPABILITY. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR PULLED OFF OF THE ROAD SO I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND THEN TURNED IT ON AGAIN AND THE SAME LIGHTS WERE STILL ON. I TURNED IT OFF AGAIN AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES I TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE LIGHTS WERE NOT ON AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. BRAKING SYSTEM WAS WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS AND NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. *JS
BRAKES FAILED WHILE TRYING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN. THE BRAKES FAILED WHILE TRYING TO STOP ON DRY PAVEMENT. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD AND THE CAR CONTINUED THREW THE STOP SIGN AND STOPPED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD BEEN ON FOR A DAY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS BAD GAS. I DROVE THE CAR FOR ANOTHER DAY WITH HARD BRAKES AND THEN RETUNED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE OF SOME NEAR MISSES BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING. THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS BAD. A QUICK CHECK SHOWS THAT THIS VERY COMMON ON 2007 CAMRY. THESE FAULTY BOOSTERS ARE SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED BY TOYOTA BEFORE SOME ONE DIES!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE. MAY LAST FOR ONE OR SEVERAL MINUTES AND EVENTUALLY RETURNS TO NORMAL. ALTERNATES BETWEEN FUNCTIONING AND NOT BUT HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING MORE THAN IT WORKS. MECHANIC DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS ABS MODULE. BRAKES SEEM TO BE FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY BUT NOT SURE IF WORKING IN ABS MODE. BASED ON COMPLAINTS ON WEBSITE, CAN'T BELIEVE NHTSA HAS NOT FORCED A RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CHECK VSC WARNING CAME ON AS WELL AS THE INDICATOR WARNING LIGHT, THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT AND THE VSC WARNING LIGHT. ALL THE LIGHTS REMAINED ON UNTIL I REACHED MY DESTINATION. THE BRAKE SYSTEM MADE A STRANGE "GRUNTING" NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED BUT THE BRAKES SEEMED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON WHEN THE CAR WAS RESTARTED AND LESS THAN HALFWAY ON THE RETURN TRIP, WENT OFF. THERE HAS BEEN NO NOTICEABLE LOSS OF BRAKING. ON THE 21ST OF THE MONTH THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AND HAVE NOT GONE OFF. THE ABS PUMP ACTUATOR APPEARS TO BE CYCLING VERY QUICKLY.
TOYOTA RECALL: I TOOK MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY TO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL. THEY HAD A 3 PHASE TEST AND IT USED A QUART OF OIL AFTER 1000 MILES, BUT I HAD TO BRING IT IN A THIRD TIME, THEN THEY SAID I FAILED THE TEST AS I WENT OVER THE MILEAGE FOR THE 3RD VISIT. I CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY LET ME FILE A COMPLAINT BUT ALSO SAID I FAILED TO MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS AS I WENT OVER THE MILEAGE EVEN THOUGH IT HAD ALREADY USED A QUART OF OIL THE AFTER 1000 MILES. I ASKED FOR THE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND THEY WERE VAGUE AND STATED THE DEALERSHIP MADE THE DETERMINATION AROUND TOYOTA'S GUIDELINES. I TOOK IT AGAIN FOR THE LAST AND FINAL OIL RECALL AND THEY THEN SAID I WENT OVER THE MILEAGE FOR THE OIL RECALL TEST THE SECOND TIME (1700 MILES) THAT IT WAS A BIT LOW AND THEY TOPPED IT OFF AS A CURTESY, BUT I WAS NO LONGER ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. TODAY AFTER 3000 MILES FROM MY LAST OIL CHANGE AND THEIR TOPPING IT OFF THE OIL WAS DOWN 4 QUARTS OF OIL. I FEEL THAT THAT TOYOTA IS MAKING THIS DIFFICULT SO THAT A CONSUMER FAILS THE RECALL AND THEY DO NOT HAVE TO FIX THE PISTONS ON THE ENGINE.
MY CAR HAS AN OVER OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. BEFORE THE CAR IS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE IT IS OUT OF OIL COMPLETELY AND DUE TO THIS PROBLEM MY CAR STARTING OVERHEATING AND IT CRACKED THE HEAD GASKET. TOYOTA HAS A RECALL FOR THE 4 CYLINDER MODELS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE BUT THE 6 CYLINDER MODELS ARE EXCLUDED. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I TOLD THEM EVERY TIME J WENT TO THEIR SERVICE CENTER. NOW I HAVE TO BUY A NEW ENGINE FOR THE VEHICLE THAT I JUST BOUGHT.

TAKATA RECALL. MY DASHBOARD IS SOFT AND GET SOFTER. IT GETTING STICKY. THE WORST THING IS THE GLARE THAT COMES OFF IT IS BLINDING. I HAVE ALMOST HAVE ACCENTDENTS BECOUSE OF THIS. ONCE THE SUN HIT YOU REAL CAN NOT SEE. THIS IS ONE THING TOYODA MUST REPLACE. I KNOW IF I GET INTO AN ACCENTDENT THAT'S I FIRST THING I WILL DO, GET A LAWYER. IN FACT I HAVE BEEN TOLD FROM ONE THE IT IN PAIRS YOU SO MUCH THAT YOU GET IN A ACCENTDENT WE CAN GO AFTER TOYODA OF NOT RECALLING A PART THAT HAS A SAFETY CONCERN. IT IS SO SOFT YOU NAIL JUST ITS IT AND MAKES A DENT. I DON'T SHOW IN A PIC BUT BY THE GLOVE BOX THERE IS A PIECE THAT EVER RUBS OFF. IT IS AS THIN AS ONE COAT OF PAINT ON THE GLOVE BOX. EVERY WHAT WHAT THE SO CALLED DASH IS VERY CHEAP RUDDER THAT MELTS, EASY THE DAMAGE, CAN NOT CLEAN IT OR ANYTHING. I LOVE TOYODA BUT THIS DASH WILL MAKE MY BUY SOMETHING ELSE, IT'S A PAIN IN THE ASS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,300.

THIS IS THE 3RD ACCIDENT I HAVE BEEN IN RELATED TO THE TOYOTA CAMRY 2007 BRAKING SYSTEM FAILING. IN EACH INSTANCE, I HAD BEEN GOING LESS THAN 35MPH IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD TO PRESS DOWN REALLY HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT DOESN'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP UNTIL 20-30 SECONDS LATE. THE BRAKE DOES NOT REDUCE THE CAR SPEED LIKE IT SHOULD BE TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT FROM HAPPENING. IN ADDITION TO THIS, I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I BRAKE THERE IS VIBRATION AND THE CAR SHAKES WHEN TRYING TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. ON TOP ON THIS, THE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS AS IF IT IS GETTING STUCK AND I HAVE TO PRESS DOWN REALLY HARD BEFORE I CAN COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS IS VERY FRIGHTENING AND I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR.
OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WHICH WAS PURCHASED IN 2009. TOOK INTO MY DEALERSHIP TO HAVE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH RECALL. ALSO INQUIRED ABOUT MY BROKEN DRIVER SIDE VISOR. WAS TOLD THAT VISOR WAS NOT A RECALL AND ONLY COVERED AS AN EXTENDED SERVICE FOR 7 YEARS FROM DATE OF FIRST USE; THEREFORE NOT COVERED. VISOR WILL FALL DOWN WHILE DRIVING, OBSTRUCTING VIEW AND WILL NOT STAY ATTACHED WITH CLIP. THIS PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL RECENTLY BUT TOYOTA WILL NOT REPLACE IT, AS IT IS OUTSIDE THE 7 YEARS FROM DATE OF FIRST USE. I CALLED TOYOTA AND ASKED WHY THE VISOR WAS NOT REPLACED PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. THEY INDICATED THAT IF IT WAS NOT SHOWING SIGNS OF PROBLEMS, THEY DID NOT REPLACE THEM. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE A VISOR "FALL" DURING DRIVING AND OBSTRUCTING YOUR VISION.
WHILE DRIVING THE DASH INSTRUMENTS GO CRAZY. THE TACHO SHOWS 0 THE WARNING LIGHTS TURN ON AND OFF. ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND THE WHOLE ELECTRONIC DASH MALFUNCTIONS. MY DAUGHTER THAT DRIVES THE CAR TOLD ME THAT SHE FEELS THAT THE CAR WILL EXPLODE. FROM MY RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THE ABS MODULE IS THE CAUSE OF THIS MALFUNCTIONS. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH ABS ACTING UP. TOYOTA SHOULD RECALL THE ABS MODULES AND REPLACE THEM WITH GOOD ONES. IT HAPPENS IN THE CITY AND OR THE HIGHWAY OR WHEN STOPPED.THANKS
TOYOTA HAS A RECALL ON A NUMBER OF VEHICLES BECAUSE OF A PISTON RING DESIGN FLAW. LAST YEAR THEY TESTED MY 2007 CAMRY AND SAID IT WAS OK. ACTUALLY, IT BURNED 1 QUART OF OIL (I JUST FOUND OUT FROM CUSTOMER CARE) BUT TOYOTA SAYS IT MUST BURN 1.5 QUARTS OF OIL TO QUALIFY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS OK. MY OIL LIGHT WENT ON LESS THAN 2000 MILES IN TO MY LAST OIL CHANGE. THE CAR WAS 3 QUARTS LOW ON OIL! THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT IT DEFINITELY HAS THE DESIGN FLAW--BUT THEY HAVE TO RUN ANOTHER TEST TO VERIFY WHAT I HAVE TOLD THEM. NOW HERE IS THE ZINGER---I HAVE ONE WEEK TO DRIVE 1100 MILES. THAT IS BECAUSE TOYOTA HAS SAID THIS RECALL ENDS THEN. SOMEHOW I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ENGINEERING DESIGN FLAW, THEIR INABILITY TO DIAGNOSE MY VEHICLE THE FIRST TIME, AND THEIR UNILATERAL SETTING OF AN EXPIRATION DATE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS IS FAIR OR REASONABLE. PERHAPS THEY WILL SEE THE LIGHT OR EXTEND THE FINAL DATE FOR ME? I CANNOT DRIVE 1100 MILES THIS WEEK. I WOULD IF MY SCHEDULE ALLOWED IT.

THEN THIS HAPPEND AGAIN YESTERDAY TO MY SON HERE'S HIS STORY: WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I WAS COMING TO A FOUR WAY STOP THEM ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH BOARD THE BREAKS GOT HARD AND THE STEERING WHEEL TOO AND I HAD TO SWERVE TO NOT HIT THE GREEN TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME THEN IT BARLEY MADE IT HOME. AS OF THIS MORNING I TRIED STARTING IT REVERSING IT AND IT WON'T MOVE ALL THE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON THE VCS CHECK SYSTEM IS ON AND IT WON'T TURN OFF OR MOVE . PLEASE HELP!

THE END OF 2015 MY CAR STARTED BURNING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I ENDED UP TAKING IT TO THE MECHANIC & HE WAS ADDING OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES STATING IT WAS NORMAL FOR IT TO BURN OIL. THEY ALSO WENT WITH A THICKER OIL TO TRY TO FIX IT.I WAS ALSO ADDING OIL WHENEVER IT STARTED GETTING LOW. WELL MY CAR OVERHEATED & CRACKED MY HEAD GASKET. AFTER GOING ONTO TOYOTAS WEBSITE & TYPING MY VIN NUMBER IN, IT STATES THERE AREN'T ANY RECALLS OR SERVICE CAMPAIGNS. I STARTED SAVING MONEY UP TO HAVE MY ENGINE REPLACED SO IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR MONTHS. AFTER REALIZING I COULDN'T POSSIBLY AFFORD IT, I WENT ONLINE TO GET BLUE BOOK VALUES TO SELL IT.I FOUND OUT THERE WERE 2 TSBS COVERING MY DASHBOARD & MY ENGINE BURNING OIL. THEY ARE SAYING SOMETHING WAS MAILED TO ME EVEN THOUGH I KNOW IF I WOULD HAVE RECEIVED ANYTHING I WOULD HAVE HAD IT FIXED IMMEDIATELY.AFTER CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY WHO HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST TOYOTA, HE STATED TO ME THAT NOTHING WAS MAILED OUT TO CUSTOMERS. AFTER CONTACTING 2 TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS & TOYOTA SERVICE, THEY BOTH RAN MY VIN # & IT SHOWS THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT FOR BOTH PROBLEMS.CUSTOMERS DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THIS UNLESS THEY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP.TOYOTA SERVICE STATED TO ME THE ONLY WAY THEY WOULD REPLACE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MY ENGINE IS IF AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST IS RUN, WELL MY ENGINE IS BURNED UP.IF MY CAR WAS BEING WORKED ON BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC & I HAVE SERVICE RECORDS PROVING ALL OF MY RECALLS & MAINTENANCE WAS DONE, THEY SHOULD HONOR THAT.THERE ARE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS STATING THE SAME THINGS.
TOYOTA RECALL - THE ENGINE IS BURNING TOO MUCH OIL WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO FAIL AND OIL TO BURN AT AN ACCESSIVE RATE. I HAVE COMPLAINTED OF THIS TO A THE PRIORITY SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
