DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR/SHADE IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE VISOR WON'T STAY UP, IT FLOPS DOWN AND IS DIFFICULT TO SEE TO DRIVE. I CAN SEE THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT 2007/2008 TOYOTA CAMRY MODELS. IT IS A DRIVING HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED TO REPLACE IT. *TR
I TOOK MY 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY TO WAL-MART JUST TO HAVE TIRE ROTATED, ON 7-2-2013 I WAS TOLD THE TIRES ON THE REAR WERE REALLY BAD ROUNDED OFF WITH BUMPS ON TIRES, I WAS TOLD THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION WAS BAD, AND THAT HAD CAUSED THE BELTS TO BRAKE INSIDE MY TIRES. I HAD TAKEN MY CAR TO SCOTT TOYOTA IN JASPER AL 1 YEAR BEFORE THIS AND HAD IT ALIGNMENT. I STILL HAVE MY PAPERWORK. I HAVE NOTICE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE WAY IT HANDLED FOR A LONG TIME. ALSO THE SUNROOF HAS LEAKED LIKE A WATERFALL EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT. BUT TOYOTA SAYS IT'S NOT THERE PROBLEM. IT HAS COST ME 4 KNEW TIRES AND NOW A FULL ALIGNMENT AND A REAR SUSPENSION TO BE DONE AT A TOYOTA PLACE. I JUST HOPE THIS CAR DOES NOT CAUSE ME TO HAVE A ACCIDENT FROM THE MESSED UP SUSPENSION ! *TR
PASSENGER SUN VISOR FELL FROM IT'S FOLDED POSITION FROM CEILING. 2 OR 3 DAYS LATER THE VISOR COMPLETELY FALLS OFF THE SUPPORT ARM ALTOGETHER. NOT EVEN IN USE DURING EITHER INCIDENT. NO PASSENGER EVEN IN THE SEAT USING THE VISOR. 1-2 WEEKS LATER THE SAME THING OCCURS WITH THE DRIVER'S VISOR. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH ALL 2007-2008 CAMRY'S. TOYOTA HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THE SUN VISORS FOR ALL CAMRY'S BUILT IN THE U.S.A., BUT HAS ELECTED NOT TO OFFER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY TO IT'S OWNERS OF THE JAPANESE BUILT MODELS (SUCH AS MINE). THE VISORS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH TOYOTA FOR REPLACEMENT AND THEY ASK $230 PER VISOR PLUS LABOR FOR INSTALL (OVER $500 WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE). UPON CALLING TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO ASK WHY THEY AREN'T OFFERING THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR JAPANESE BUILT MODELS THAT ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS THEIR AMERICAN-BUILT COUNTERPARTS THEY HAD NO ANSWERS FOR ME. THEY DID OFFER TO EXTEND ME A ONE-TIME CREDIT FOR $250 IN REPAIRS TO OFFSET THE COST OF THEIR INFERIOR PRODUCT AND KNOWN PROBLEM. THIS DOESN'T EVEN COVER 50% OF THE COST OF PARTS AND LABOR TO HAVE BOTH OF THE VISORS REPAIRED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW SUDDENLY SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000. UPDATED 12/24/13*CN
THE DASHBOARD ON THE CAMRY IS MELTING IN THE TEXAS SUN. THE CAR IS PARKED INSIDE OUR GARAGE EXCEPT FOR THE EARLY MORNINGS. WHEN IT IS HOTTER THAN 75 OUTSIDE THE DASH BECOMES EXTREMELY SOFT AND STICKY. WHEN IT GETS ABOVE 80 THE DASH STARTS TO GET SHINY, REAL SHINY TO WHERE IT REFLECTS ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. ADDITIONALLY THE OFF GASSING FROM THE DASH CAUSES A FILM ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT HAS TO BE CLEANED EVERY WEEKEND. I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE FOR REPAIRS/REMEDIES AND HAVE COME ACROSS HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OWNERS IN HOT CLIMATE ZONES WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE ON THEIR CAMRY AND LEXUS OF THE SAME PRODUCTION MODEL YEARS. *TR
DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND STICKY. *TR
MY 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY DASHBOARD IS MELTED AND STICKY. ITS SO BAD ITS PUTTING GLARE ON MY WINDSHIELD AND I CAN BARELY SEE WHEN DRIVING. THIS ISSUE IS MAKING DRIVING VERY DANGEROUS. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY WHEN THE SUN IS OUT BECAUSE I KNOW MY VISIBILITY WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO THE GLARE MAKING IT UNSAFE FOR ME AND PUTTING OTHER DRIVERS AT RISK. I HAVE READ THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON MY YEAR/MAKE/MODEL CAR AND I'M HOPING SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. *TR
I WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE RPM SHOT UP TO 6 AND THE ENGINE WAS RACING AND WANTED TO LUNGE FORWARD. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR WHEN WITHOUT WARNING THE BRAKES BEGAN TO GIVE OUT AS I TRIED TO STOP MY CAR. I AM FORTUNATE THAT THERE WERE NO PEDESTRIANS OR OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME OR I MIGHT HAVE HIT ONE. A STRANGE CHUGGING NOISE EMANATED FROM MY CAR AND THE LIGHTS WENT ON, ON MY DASHBOARD TO CHECK THE VSC SYSTEM. THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP RAN A DIAGNOSTIC BATTERY AND SAID THE ABS ACCOMMODATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE SHOWED ME THAT MANY OTHER INDIVIDUALS WITH CAMRY HYBRIDS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WITH CARS WITH LOW MILEAGE. I FEEL FORTUNATE THAT NO ONE GOT HURT. I CONTACTED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS AND LET THEM KNOW OF THE ISSUE. *TR
SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE HAS COME OUT OF ITS HOUSING AND DANGLES DANGEROUSLY IN THE DRIVERS LINE OF VISION. VISOR WILL NOT GO BACK UP NOR WILL IT COME OFF THE ASSEMBLY WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VISOR. *TR
THE ABS LIGHT ON MY 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY CAME ON MONDAY, JUNE 24TH. THE AC STARTED BLOWING WARM AIR, AND THE RPM AND TEMPERATURE GAUGES STARTED FLUTTERING. STADIUM TOYOTA IN TAMPA, FL HAD ME BRING IT IN AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR HAD GONE OUT. THIS BACKFEEDS ELECTRICITY INTO THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM ON TOYOTAS. I HAVE TO PAY $2300 FOR THE REPAIR, WHICH IS FOR A COMPUTER OF WHICH I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT MALFUNCTIONING. THE ABS IS OBVIOUSLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES, AND I CAN'T IMAGINE EVERYONE CAN AFFORD IT. IS TOYOTA SETTING UP THE ROADS TO BE FILLED WITH VEHICLES WITHOUT ABS? *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR HAS STARTED DROOPING. THE INTERNAL TENSION MECHANISM OF THE SUN VISOR NO LONGER HOLDS IT IN POSITION AND NOW IT HANGS STRAIGHT DOWN. WHEN LOOKING AT IT CLOSER, THE VISOR PULLED COMPLETELY OFF THE METAL ROD THAT ATTACHES TO THE ROOF. *TR
THE PASSENGER VISOR NO LONGER STAYS IN THE PROPER POSITION, IT FLOPS. THIS HAPPENED WITH MY DRIVERS SIDE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. MUST BE MADE BAD IS ALL I CAN FIGURE. *TR
TAKATA RECALL 2008 CAMRY IS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL BUT SHOULD BE. I HAD AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG ALMOST SEPARATED MY WRIST FROM MY ARM AND SEVERELY BURNED ME. THE CUT WAS SO DEEP THEY HAD TO REMOVE SKIN FROM ME LEG TO CLOSE IT. I HAVE A HUGE SCAR AND BURN ON MY ARM

MY DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IS NOT FUNCTIONING AND IT WOULD NOT LIFT BACK UP. IT ONLY HAS 33,000 MILES ON THE CAR. SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE DASHBOARD HAS A STICKY RESIDUE ON THE ENTIRE SURFACE. THE RESIDUE CAN CAUSE A DISTRACTING SUN GLARE AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE DAY. I HAVE TRIED CLEANING IT WITH SEVERAL NON ABRASIVE PRODUCTS AND IT IS STILL A PERSISTENT PROBLEM. *TR
ENGINE OIL DRASTICALLY BURNS. NEARLY 2000 MILES RUNNING, NO ENGINE OIL. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED TEARING DOWN THE ENGINE AND REBUILDING IT. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER HAVING THE ENGINE REBUILT AT A COST OF $6000. UPDATED 05/13/14. *JB
OUR FAMILY OWNS A 2004 TOYOTA TUNDRA WHICH WE LOVE SO THAT MADE US BUY A CAMRY IN 2008 BIG MISTAKE! EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW IN 08' HAD NOTHING BUT MECHANICAL ISSUES AND AS OF DATE 6 RECALLS AND COUNTING. A MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEH THEY REPLACED MY AXLE, BRAKES AND THEN THAT'S WHEN THE RECALLS STARTING COMING IN. FROM MY VISORS FALLING TO NOW THE WINDOW RECALLS. MY FRONT DASHBOARD IS NASTY STICKY NO MATTER HOW I CLEAN IT IT'S GROSS THE STICKY WON'T GO AWAY AND THE ARMS RESTS ON THE DRIVER DOOR AND PASSENGER SIDES ARE BOTH ROTTEN FROM THE INSIDE THEIR CRACKED AND BROKEN. I DON'T USE ARM RESTS SO THEY SHOULDN'T BE! THE TOP CEILING CLOTH IN MY CAR FELL DOWN THE 4TH MONTH I HAD MY VEHICLE SO MY FATHER SPRAY GLUED IT (HOW SAD IS THAT!). THIS WAS MY FIRST CAR I PURCHASED BRAND NEW SO GOING THRU THIS AFTER COMPLAINTS AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY STILL DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. I'M SO UPSET I HAVE NO WORDS LEFT TO SAY ABOUT THIS VEHICLE I'M DRIVING A CRAP CAR THAT'S FALLING APART FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED IT. THANK YOU TOYOTA!!!!! THIS PAST YEAR THE DASHBOARD BEGAN TO GET VERY STICKY AND STARTED CRACKING IN VARIOUS AREAS. I TOOK THE CAR TO EARL STEWART TOYOTA IN LAKE PARK, FL. AND THEY ADVISED THAT THE CAR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY COULD DO NOTHING. I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS OTHER TOYOTA OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED TOYOTA CORPORATE AND THEY INITIALLY REFUSED TO REPAIR IT AS IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN I TOLD THEM I WAS GOING TO THE LOCAL MEDIA TV NEWS TO COMPLAIN, THEY IMMEDIATELY AGREED TO PAY FOR THE PART, BUT NOT THE LABOR. I DID AGREE AND HAD THE CAR REPAIRED AT EARL STEWART TOYOTA AND PAID THE TOTAL OF $1795.27. I SUBMITTED THE BILL TO TOYOTA CORPORATE AND THEY REFUNDED ME $1268.65 FOR THE PART AND I PAID THE $425 FOR THE LABOR. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE BRIGHT REFLECTION OF THE SUN ONTO THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE STICKY DASH. THANK YOU. *TR
I HAVE A MELTING DASHBOARD THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN. THERE ARE A LOT OF SCRATCHES AND INDENTATIONS FROM TRYING TO CLEAN IT. SMALL BUGS TEND TO CLING TO IT BECAUSE OF THE STICKINESS. *TR
I WAS UNABLE TO INSERT THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT INTO THE LATCH. REPEATED ATTEMPTS FAILED. FINALLY, I WAS ABLE TO LATCH THE BELT BY FIRST DEPRESSING THE RED LATCH RELEASE BUTTON AND THEN INSERTING THE SEAT BELT. SINCE THAT TIME THE SEAT BELT WILL NO LONGER INSERT UNLESS THE RED RELEASE BUTTON IS PRESSED AND HELD DURING INSERTION. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER OF 2007 AND THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. *TR
THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE NO LONGER STAYS IN THE "UP" POSITION RESTING AGAINST THE ROOF. THE VISOR HANGS AT DANGEROUS EYE LEVEL BECAUSE THE SPRING MECHANISM TO HOLD THE VISOR IN THE RESTING POSITION AGAINST THE ROOF IS DEFECTIVE. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN TRAFFIC WHEN THE VISOR SUDDENLY FALLS AND BLOCKS THE SIGHT OF THE DRIVER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE BEING INSPECTED, IT WAS FOUND THAT ALL FOUR STRUTS WERE LEAKING. THE PRIVATE MECHANIC RECOMMENDED THAT THE STRUTS BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,000.
2008 TOYOTA SOLARA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE WATER PUMP LEAK. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS, SO SHE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. THE NEXT THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. A DAY LATER, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE ENGINE OVERHEATED, BECAUSE THERE WAS A LEAK COMING FROM THE WATER PUMP.
I NOTICED A WHILE AGO THAT MY DASHBOARD HAD A SHINY APPEARANCE TO IT. UPON TOUCHING IT, MY FINGER LEFT AN IMPRINT AND REALIZED IT WAS MELTING. ALSO, UPON DRIVING, THE GLARE COMING OFF OF THE MELTING DASH IS DISTRACTING WHEN IT REFLECTS ON THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN THIS OCCURS, IT MAKES DRIVING MORE DIFFICULT WHETHER IT BE IN THE DAY OR EVENING HOURS CAUSING "BLINDNESS". I CAN'T EVEN PUT THE SUNSHADE UP DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT'LL LEAVE AN IMPRESSION IN THE DASH. THIS IS ALL VERY DANGEROUS AND AN IMPEDIMENT TO THE DRIVER, PASSENGERS AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AND I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU. *TR

I AM AN OWNER OF A 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY SE. THE DASHBOARD ON MY VEHICLE STARTED MELTING, BECAME STICKY/SHINY AND HAS AN AWFUL GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THIS STARTED AFTER THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED ON THE VEHICLE AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY PURCHASED DOES NOT COVER TRIM FOR THE VEHICLE. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO TOYOTA FOR ROUTINE SERVICE FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND INQUIRED ABOUT THE DASHBOARD. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM FOR THESE VEHICLES AND THEY HAVE ALREADY CHANGED MULTIPLE DASHBOARDS. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE PROBLEM TO RESOLVE (1100 FOR PART AND 660 FOR LABOR), AND TO CALL TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO SEE IF THEY WOULD HELP RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. AFTER A REVIEW BY TOYOTA THEY SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR THE PART BUT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LABOR. I WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO THIS NOT BEING A RECALL THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO OFFER ANYTHING BY LAW. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE IT IS CREATING A SHINY "REFLECTING" EFFECT ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT IMPAIRS VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED GIVEN THAT IT IS A HAZARD TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. DUE TO THIS I AM BITING THE BULLET AND WILL PAY TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED. ALTHOUGH, WHAT WORRIES ME ARE THE DRIVERS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND UNABLE TO AFFORD THE REPAIRS DUE TO TOYOTA NOT HONORING THEIR PRODUCT. PLEASE CONSIDER INVESTIGATING THIS MATTER FURTHER. *TR
DASHBOARD BECAME STICKY, STARTED TO PEEL, AND CRACK. DASHBOARD IS MELTING IN THE SUN. *TR
MY SUN VISORS ON BOTH SIDES HAVE MESSED UP AND NOW HAVE BOTH BEEN REPLACED. MY CD PLAYER ALSO STARTED MESSING UP EARLIER THIS YEAR. IT SAYS THERE'S A CD IN, BUT THERE'S NOT. YOU CAN'T LOAD A CD OR EJECT IT. THE SERVICE CENTER AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY DON'T SEE ANYTHING JAMMED IN THERE AND THAT I WOULD BE BETTER OFF REPLACING IT WITH AN AFTERMARKET STEREO SYSTEM B/C IT WOULD BE CHEAPER AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO SEND MY CAR OFF TO HAVE IT FIXED. HOPEFULLY, I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AND A RECALL WILL BE ISSUED! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE RESERVOIR. THE CONTACT ADDED ONE QUART OF OIL TO THE VEHICLE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT DROVE 60 MILES TO THE DEALER AND BY THE TIME HE HAD REACHED THE DEALER, THERE WAS NO OIL LEFT IN THE RESERVOIR. THE DEALER SUGGESTED PERFORMING AN ENGINE CONSUMPTION TEST. THE CONTACT DROVE 1,100 MILES AND THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THEN HALF OF THE OIL LEFT IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THERE WERE NO REPAIRS PERFORMED. THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,611. *TR
THE WATER PUMP ON CAR HAS STARTED TO LEAK SPRAYING COOLANT OVER THE ORANGE ELECTRICAL WIRES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. ALSO IT CAN LEAD TO ENGINE OVERHEATING. ONE COMPLAINT HAS ALREADY BEEN FILED AT THIS WEBSITE BY ANOTHER CUSTOMER. I'M EXPERIENCING A MELTING DASHBOARD THAT CAUSES A SUCH GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT IT HAS THE EFFECT OF OF US NOT BEING ABLE SEE THOROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AS WAS INTENDED BY ITS INSTALLATION. WE NOW WEAR UV SUNGLASSES IN ORDER TO TRY TO COMBAT THE GLARE. THIS MELTING DASHBOARD IS A SAFETY HAZARD! I'VE SENT/SPOKEN WITH TOYOTA AND ITS DEALERS AND THEY HAVE NOT AGREED REPAIR OR REPLACE MY MELTING DASHBOARD. DID I MENTION IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND HAS FURTHER DECREASED THE RE-SALE VALUE.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED FROM SAVANNAH HYUNDAI. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED AND WAS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SUBSTANTIAL GLARE THAT COMES OFF THE MELTED, STICKY DASHBOARDS. WHICH HAS IMPEDE THE ABILITY TO SAFELY OPERATE THIS VEHICLES. THERE IS A REFLECTION OFF OF THE MELTED DASHBOARD THAT HAS FROM TIME TO TIME TEMPORARILY BLIND ME. ALTERNATELY, THIS MAY , VERY WELL COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, I AM VERY CONCERN ABOUT THE CHEMICAL SMELL ASSOCIATED WITH THIS 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY DASHBOARDS THAT SEEM TO BE MELTING AND PREMATURELY DEGRADING.
WHEN YOU DRIVE CAR FOR MORE THAN 20 - 30 MINUTES THE SHIFT SOLENOID LOCK GETS EXTREMELY HOT; THE HIGHER THE SPEED THE HOTTER IT GETS. I MENTIONED IT AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR IN. THE MECHANIC SAID IT DIDN'T GET HOT FOR HIM BUT HE DIDN'T DRIVE IT OVER 45 MPH AND ONLY FOR 10 - 15 MINUTES; BUT THEN HE OFFERED UP THE PART NAME, I.E., SHIFT SOLENOID LOCK. HE TOLD ME TO FOLLOW ALL THE RECALLS AND THAT I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT. *TR
MY VISOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE WAS WOBBLING AROUND AND WOULD GET IN MY WAY OF DRIVING NUMEROUS TIMES. ONE DAY THE ENTIRE VISOR FINALLY JUST FELL OFF AND WITHIN TWO WEEKS MY PASSENGER SIDE VISOR DID THE SAME THING. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, IT IMPAIRS YOUR DRIVING WHEN THE VISOR STARTS MALFUNCTIONING AND IF THE SUN IS OUT AND THERE IS NOW NOW VISOR, THE GLARE COULD PREVENT A DRIVER FROM SEEING SOMEONE OR ANOTHER VEHICLE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE ON THE VEHICLE. TURNS OUT ALL 4 STRUTS ARE LEAKING. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL MECHANICS THE LIKE OF GOODYEAR, AMERICAN TIRE COMPANY, AND EVEN THE TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEMSELVES THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. SPEAKING TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT CAMRY OWNERS, 50 PERCENT OF THEM HAVE REPLACED THE STRUTS AS WELL. I HAVE A TOYOTA CAMRY XLE 2008. MY DASHBOARD STARTED MELTING AND ALMOST DISINTEGRATING. THIS STARTED WITHIN THE WARRANTY TIME WHERE IT BECAME "STICKY" BUT HAS NOW GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY MUCH WORSE. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE I AM UNSURE IF THE EFFECTS OF THIS MELTED DASHBOARD WILL HAVE AN AFFECT ON THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM OR OTHER INTERIOR STRUCTURES. THE DEALER SAID THAT HE WAS AWARE OF SUCH PROBLEM BUT BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER WARRANTY HAS QUOTED ME $1,300.
