Battery runs down if vehicle is not driven every few days. I did not drive the car for three days and battery was totally dead when i tried to start car. Some unknown current draw runs the battery down. Depending where a person is this could be a safety matter.
The tire size is 215/55R17. Within a span of 10 months, THREE of my tires have needed to be replaced, with one of them almost causing me a very serious car accident. The issue appears to be with the sidewall failing. The first time this happened was in September of 2021. I brought the defective tire to a local Bridgestone retail center and my complaint/concerns were completely dismissed by the in-store employee and corporate. The employee contacted corporate on the phone and was told there were no recalls on my Specific tires. The employee insisted that because there was no current “recall,” my tire was not defective. He also stated that I should “trust him” because he’s “been in the business for 25+ years”. Even though there was NO nail or sharp object found, Bridgestone had insisted that I must have ran over something. Relying on their knowledge and response in this matter, I went ahead and purchased the same exact tire at BJs wholesale club. ( I even took the tire to Toyota for inspection and they couldn’t find anything lodged in the tire or evidence to indicate that I ran over any object. They were completely baffled.) Approximately 2 months ago, a second tire had a very similar issue occur out of nowhere. It happened when I was not even a five minute drive from my house. Yet again, the issue was with the sidewall. The tire was damaged beyond repair and I had to get the “donut” put on so that I could drive my car to a tire center to purchase a new tire. Then (not even two weeks later) a different tire went flat in the same exact manner. This incident happened within less than 10 minutes from my house. Nothing appeared to have pierced my tire. I even returned to the area where it went flat and found no evidence of possible road hazards or sharp objects. The rips were located in multiple areas of the tire. This time the damage was much worse and once again the tire was damaged beyond repair. I am fully convinced the tires are defective.
Acceleration felt weird when is performed from full stop or moderate speed to a “chase” speed (high revolutions), it doesn’t respond according to the action taken to the gas pedal. Also the crash sensor went off from time to time.
Unknown. Not sure is the alignment, or steering wheel. The issue is been reported to The insurance, body shop, and Toyota. The car is not safe on the road. And I believe it shouldn’t on the road. The car also been I car accident on the highway before. The car is parked . I haven’t drove the car . Since I don’t feel safe driving the car. I
Front bumper and side view mirror cover (passenger side) have been badly deformed with in past few months and getting worse for a vehicle which is still under warranty (~2 year old and under 36,000 miles). Side view mirror cover (driver side) has also started to deform. Side view mirror cover (passenger side) has been deformed to an extent that a slight hand touch or push detaches it from the vehicle body which means it can become falling or flying object when vehicle is in motion and cause safety hazard. Parts are available for inspection (pictures are also attached). I claimed the manufacturer warranty through a local Toyota dealership and after sending me from one dealership to another, my warranty claim was denied based on the reason that deformation is possibly due to heat reflection which is an outside influence. Other than taking pictures, dealership and manufacturer have not tried to replicate the failure of parts. Dealership & Manufacturer have also failed to rule out any safety issues due to deformed components. As a Toyota customer and vehicle owner, I am highly concerned about (1) If front bumper will function under deformed conditions as it is designed to function and will not cause any safety issues to the vehicle and its occupants (2) Deformed components (One of side view mirror is already started to detach) will not completely detach and become safety hazard. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this matter which looks like a product failure and should be covered under manufacturer warranty or recall.
The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, unknown warning lights started flashing on the instrument panel. The vehicle started losing motive power and became difficult to control and pulled to the center lane unintendedly. The contact stated that moments later the failures ceased, and the vehicle started to operate as intended. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Recently the failure reoccurred, and the dealer determined that the failure was caused by a faulty battery. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 32,000.
I have owned 5 Toyotas and a Lexus SUV and never had so many problems. This is a 2020 Camry Hybrid with only 20492 miles on it. It has had to be jump-started 3-4 times so far, but now it has a new issue: While on a road trip with my wife thru Utah, the car suddenly shuts down, bells ringing and messages appearing. Cruise control, Lane departure, and Headlight System Failure. This happened on a 2-lane highway with very minimal shoulder. I pulled over as far as I could, but still slightly in the lane. Turned off the ignition and after a minute or so, was able to restart the car. Noted that the sign on the road said "Next Services 129 Miles"! This was on July 11, 2022 at about 3 PM. Once car was restarted, we drove to our destination without further issues, however I would not use Cruise control for fear it would happen again. Got back to California the next day and took it to dealer to investigate the cause. Their conclusion: "Extreme heat caused the warning lights to come on, but history code indicates that the issue resolved itself. The vehicle is operating normally at this time but the system will be affected by high temperatures and direct sunlight"!!! The temperature on the road at the time was 95 degrees. Dealer contacted Toyota's technical assistance hot line to document concern Case #221930394. Per the service department, they called the field rep who said if everything was functioning at this time, then there was no action to be taken. First of all, I am 75 years old and do not expect this from a car with only 20492 miles on it, and especially not from a Toyota. I find the "solution" to be completely foolish - avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight!! Temperatures over 95 degrees and direct sunlight are common in many states. Can someone please get to the bottom of this? I am beginning to think that I bought a lemon. I am also reporting it to NHTSA, as it is a safety issue that must be dealt with. Thank you,
Car is regularly maintained, vehicle had to be what was a software or fuel supply issue. In hotter weather car stutters and engine will completely shut off while driving. It will begin to throw errors for second brake system malfunction, check engine, lane departure assist. Codes from obd2 read p12d5 and p107d. Seems like fuel stops is being cut off or extreme software issue. Regardless it has left my pregnant wife and 3 yr old son stranded in the middle of the road in 100 degree plus weather or then runs extremely rough. Have gone to a mechanic twice each time engine codes had shut off and there was nothing to be done at the moment. Issue still persists, it is still a danger and often it is difficult to have enough momentum to pull over somewhere safe. This issue may also cause further engine problems
On 6/22/22 around 6:30 pm, the front passenger tire blew out. The tire in question came with the vehicle upon purchasing new on 5/14/20. There is currently about 13,300 miles on the car. Luckily my oldest son was driving and was able to maneuver into a safe place and put on the donut spare. Car had to be driven by son today with donut spare on and will take pictures of subject tires when he gets back home.
Fuel pump failure 1st. Car immediately stopped while driving on main road almost causing collision, engine light appeared only. Car had been inspected by local repair codes identify fuel pump malfunction. Fuel pump was replaced . Car was driven less than 5 minutes and overheated. Overheating light on dashboard , exclamation light and engine light appeared. reason is still yet unknown.
Several times when I was driving without cruise control down the hill from our home, the car's automatic brake turned on when I passed another car. The car incorrectly sensed that I was going to hit or be hit by the passing car and the automatic emergency brake turned on. Nothing happened except I was startled and puzzled. I was driving less than 30 mph on a residential street.
Driver seat belts doesn’t buckle properly
The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry XLE. The contact stated while driving approximately 26 MPH, an 18-wheeler vehicle crashed into the rear of his vehicle twice. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts failed to engage. The message "Air Bag System Malfunction" was displayed. The contact sustained whiplash and hit his head against the steering wheel. The contact sought medical assistance the next day and was diagnosed with a herniated disk and torn muscles in the back. As a result, the contact had undergone left shoulder surgery. The contact's sister sustain whiplash, hit her head and face against the passenger's side door and sustained soreness and bruises on the right side of her face. The emergency units transported the contact's sister to the hospital where she received medical assistance. A police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to his residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for air bags and seat belt failure. The contact stated that the event data recorder (EDR) indicated that the vehicle had only sustained one impact; however, the vehicle had sustained two impacts as it was rear-ended twice. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance or explanation for the erroneous report of the event data recorder (EDR). The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.
Smells like engine coolant when exiting vehicle
Dead battery at 21000 miles. Car is less than 2 years old and didn't drive it for 36 hours and the battery completely drained. Even after jump start electronic dash wouldn't function properly.
2018 - 2024 windshield Quality. I have 4 cracks in my windshield. I have stopped several. Other Toyota Camry owner who also had windshields. Mostly the year 2018-2020.
Battery keeps draining with no warning. Has left me stranded multiple times. I have had the battery checked & it is fine. Nothing was left on in the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while her vehicle was parked in her driveway, the rear windshield imploded without incident. The contact called the dealer and was offered no immediate assistance. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. Due to a lack of space at the dealer, the contact had to wait two days before the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact believed that the blind spot sensor and the rear defroster had caused the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was 35,871
While driving vehicle, all of a sudden, the vehicle will slow down, lose power, even while using cruise control set to a specific speed. It will hesitate and driver, will feel car, slow and jolt forward.this occurs all the time while driving, especially if vehicle is warmed up.
The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while pulling out of the driveway, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated she depressed the accelerator pedal several times until the vehicle responded. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred while she was stopped at a stoplight. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who test drove the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.
Wiper speed on high is to slow to see in moderate rain. Zero Visibility, make for a very dangerous situation.
First time went to get in my vehicle and the car would not even open, not even the trunk. Had been parked over night. The car was deader than a door nail. The Toyota dealer had a tow truck dispatched to me with a charge box. The charge box would not even crank the vehicle. Had to use his tow truck to jump the car took to Toyota they said it needed a software update. Did it seemed fine now fast forward several months later now when it cranks doesn’t want to crank, dies then have to try again finally it crank. Took in today at dealer they tested battery said it’s showing 100% testing so not the battery then they say the update didn’t take back months ago so needs to be updated again . So now I’ve been shuttled home as it will take 2 plus hours. I’ve googled and seen so many complaints that are identical to mine and wondering why my vehicle has no recall when my vehicle has same issues apparently or I’m being lied to by the dealer cause I’ve got a complete lemon. I’ve owned many Toyota’s and never once had issues like this.
As I was driving Monday morning August 16 2021, Check engine light and chip failure light showed up. When shifting the vehicle in reverse, but it showed in drive. Took the car to Toyota dealer, and diagnosis reveals "Vehicle has green death in connections to shift indicator. This problem costing $4,585.25 to fix the problem.
The component or system that failed and malfunctioned, is the air conditioning drain hose that leaked water into the bottom of the inside of the car, causing extensive damage to the rugs, padding, soundproof insulation, and damage to the metal frame of the bottom of the car. Corrosion of the electrical system. The safety was at risk due to the sickening mildew swampy odor coming from inside the car from an accumulation of stagnant water. It caused me headaches, sinus infections, and aggravated my asthma. Yes, Toyota dealership and SERV PRO and independent lab. Yes, the vehicle component has been inspected by the Insurance company and dealership and SERV PRO, and independent Lab. Yes, there were warnings and symptoms of the problem which appeared less than a year after the new 2020 Toyota camry was bought.
While opening the trunk from either the key fob or inside button release on the dash, the trunk lid flies open at high speed and hits the rear window of the car. It appears it's either a shock dampener failure or lack of one. I entered the date it occurred as the date I purchased the car.
I have replaced my windshield 4 times in a 16 month period. Every time I replace it something very small like a pebble or a big bug hits it and it cracks extremely easy. Once I was cleaning my windshield and lifted the wiper up about 3" and then when I was through I just let it go and it cracked the windshield. I have owned several vehicles and I have never seen a windshield so brittle. Out of the 16 months of owning this car I have only driven it with a non cracked windshield for about 30 days.
It's a dangerous thing. The first time it happened to me was on Jun 15, 2021, only the light came on and when I turned off the car the light went off after a month it came on again and turned off by itself, and now it turned on and it doesn't turn off for nothing. and it only says the PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM & CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTION alert. I was doing a little research online and I realized that many people have this problem regardless of the vehicle miles and this is dangerous since this happens on local streets or highways regardless of the speed of the vehicle. please investigate. Thank you.
I was driving down the road and heard a loud explosion. It sounded like it came from the moonroof. I opened the sunshade and saw that the entire front section of the panaramic moonroof had exploded for no apparent reason. 48°F, overcast, no bridges, no trees, no vehicles in front of me, no flying debris. Car is 6 months old and has 6500 miles on it. I went to the nearest auto store and bought duct tape to secure the remaining glass and then drove to the nearest Toyota dealer.
WHILE GOING UP A HILL WITH A RIGHT HAND CURVE AT ABOUT 50 MPH I HEARD A LOUD NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE TWO PIECES OF METAL COMING TOGETHER. AT THE TIME I HAD NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THE NOISE BUT THOUGHT MAYBE I RAN OVER A PIECE OF METAL THAT THE THE WHEEL THREW UP. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHECKED THE UNDER SIDE AND TOLD THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY DAMAGE THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN DONE. I HAVE ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND THE NOISE WAS SO MECHANICAL I NOW THINK THE DRIVE WHEEL WAS CHANGING AND AND IT HAD AN OUT OF SYNC CONNECTION WHICH RESULTED IN THE LOUD NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ON A PAVED HIGHWAY, GOING UP A HILL THAT HAD A RIGHT HAND CURVE, I WAS STEERING THROUGH THE CURVE AT ABOUT 50 MPH. I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT CAUSE OF THE LOUD NOISE BUT BELIEVE IT INVOLVED THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE FEATURE.5/9/2021
AFTER 2 DAYS PARKED IN GARAGE WITH LIGHTS OFF AND DOORS CLOSED THE CAR WOULDN'T START. AFTER JUMP STARING THE CAR IN THE SCREEN IN THE DASHBOARD A VIDEO WAS PLAYING STATING THAT AN ELECTRONIC BOARD IS AFFECTING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HAS JUST 15,500 MILES. IN MARCH 2020 THE SAME HAPPEN. DEALER SAID WAS FIXED. I TALKED TO TOYOTA (JEFFREY) COMPANY AND HE SAID THERE IS NO RECALL OR SOFTWARE UPGRADE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT LATCH SECURELY. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THE BATTERY BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOYOTA OF NASHUA (10 MARMON DR, NASHUA, NH 03060, (603) 689-1500) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN ENOUGH WHICH CAUSED THE BATTERY DRAINAGE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO USE A TRICKLE CHARGER BETWEEN USE OF THE VEHICLE TO KEEP THE BATTERY FULLY CHARGED ALWAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
COOLANT SMELL COMING FROM ENGINE.
CAR BATTERY WON'T HOLD A CHARGE KEEPS GOING DEAD. DEALER CLAIM THEY CAN'T FIND NOTHING WRONG. CAR SIT PARKED, LIKE SOMETHING IS DRAWN POWER WHILE CAR IS OFF.
TWICE RECENTLY 2020 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH LESS THAN 8,000 MILES ON IT WOULD NOT START AFTER BEING PARKED IN A GARAGE. IN BOTH CASES, WE CHARGED THE BATTERY AND CAR STARTED RIGHT AWAY. NO DOORS WERE LEFT OPEN, NO LIGHTS ON, ETC. WHAT IS CAUSING THE BATTERY TO DRAIN AFTER A DAY OR TWO NOT BEING DRIVEN? MY OLDER TOYOTA WITH 150,000 IS MORE RELIABLE, SADLY. HAVE READ ABOUT A BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR, BUT TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. SEEMS LIKE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. TAKING TO DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK TO SEE IF PROBLEM CAN BE IDENTIFIED.
CAR IS ACTING FUNNY WITH FUEL LEVELS. FUEL LEVELS ARE READING WRONG AND CAR IS EFFECTED BY FUEL PUMP.THERE IS A RECALL FOR ISSUE BUT CAN'T GET A SECOND NOTICE TO RESOLVE ISSUE
PROBLEMS WITH THE DEAD BATTERY ' DRAINING. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN JULY 2020. IT HAS BEEN 2 TIMES I'VE HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE BECAUSE MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. FIRST TIME, THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE CAR WAS PARKED AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO USE. SECOND TIME, THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE MY CAR HAS LOW MILES SINCE I'VE BOUGHT IT. I WANTED TO BUY A NEW CAR TO NOT GO THROUGH "ISSUES" AND I SHOULD NOT BE FORCED TO DRIVE MY CAR MORE THAN WHAT I NEED TO, NOR I SHOULD HAVE TO BUY A TRICKLE CHARGER THE TECH SERVICE GUY RECOMMENDED ME TO BUY AND FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS ON HAVING TO DRIVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES TWICE A WEEK, WHEN I ALREADY DRIVE IT TO WORK EVERYDAY. NOW I AM AFFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR, WORRIED THAT IT WON'T WORK AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT WHEN THEY TELL YOU "I CANNOT GARANTEE THIS WON'T HAPPEND AGAIN IN 6 OR 7 MONTHS"?. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I THEN, STARTED DOING RESAERCH ON MY OWN ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM.
The contact owned a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 MPH, he crashed into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact suffered injuries to both shoulders and his back but did not seek medical treatment. The other driver was injured and transported to the hospital for an injury to his back. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard and then towed to a collision center. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a claim was filed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss and was destroyed. The failure mileage was 8,446
HAPPENED TWICE SITTING IN TRAFFIC WAITING FOR RED LIGHT AND CAR IN NEUTRAL GEAR, CAR STARTED TO FEEL ITS GOING TO STALL WHICH APPEAR FLUCTUATED RPM AND VIBRATION. ALSO, RANDOMLY WHEN START THE ENGINE IT FEELS THE ENGINE HAS A BIT TROUBLE TO IGNITE FROM IT MIGHT BE A COLD START IN THE MORNING OR ANY TIME OF THE DAY.
I HAD PARKED MY CAR IN MY APARTMENT PARKING LOT AND HADN'T DRIVEN FOR TWO DAYS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER (SNOW STORM). ON THE THIRD DAY, UPON APPROACHING MY VEHICLE I OBSERVED THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE CAR WOULDN'T UNLOCK THROUGH MY KEY FOB. HAD TO MANUALLY UNLOCK IT. 2. UPON ENTERING AND PRESSING THE START BUTTON, THE MID WAS FLICKERING WITH ERROR MESSAGES SUCH AS (A) KEY FOB NOT DETECTED (B) EPB DISENGAGED. 3. THE BATTERY SEEMED DEAD, NONE OF THE ELECTRICALS AND ELECTRONIC RESPONDED. I UNDERSTOOD THE BATTERY WAS DEAD (STRANGE FOR A NEW CAR BOUGHT 5 MONTHS AGO). 4. I JUMP STARTED SUCCESSFULLY USING MY OLDER CAR WHICH DOESN'T RUN TOO OFTEN, YET COLD STARTS PRETTY GOOD. NO ACCESSORIES/LIGHTS WERE LEFT ON DURING THE TWO DAYS THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.
I CANT LOCATE MY VEHICLE. WAITNING ON SOMEONE TO SEND TITLE
TOYOTA ADVERTISES AND REPRESENTS THAT THE 2020 CAMRY SE FUEL TANK CAPACITY IS 16 GALLONS, AND BASED ON ITS 28CITY/39HWY MPG RATING, THE CAMRY'S RANGE SHOULD BE 448/624 MILES. HOWEVER, MY CAR ON A FULL TANK REPORTS 385 MILES TO EMPTY. TOYOTA RAN TESTS AND STATED I GET 30MPG. IF THIS IS TRUE MY GAS TANK IS ONLY SUPPORTING ABOUT 13 GALLONS OF GAS. TOYOTA HAS ALREADY IDENTIFIED THIS AS AN ISSUE IN THEIR 2019/2020 HYBRID MODELS.
I BOUGHT A NEW TOYOTA CAMRY 2020 SE ON OCTOBER 2020 FROM TOYOTA DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES LESS THAN 3 MONTHS LATER. I'VE ONLY DRIVEN IT 800MILES. TODAY AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK I NOTICED THAT I HAD TO PRESS ON THE BREAK HARDER THAN USUAL. ALSO IT LAGS WHEN STARTING UP.
VEHICLE HAS A RECALL AND DEALER WOULD NOT FIX IT WENT TO TWO DEALER SHIPS NOW AND THEY ARE DENYING THAT MY CAR HAS A RECALL I GUESS I WILL JUST WAIT TILL MY CAR CATCHES FIRE AND THEN AND EXPLODE SO I CAN FILE A LAWSUIT
The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH on the highway, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
I purchased this vehicle on 01/12/2021 from Toyota of Greenville, SC. I was initially told that the vehicle was a Certified Pre-Owned Toyota, which means it went through an intensive reconditioning process and passed all certification requirements. As I was signing the papers to purchase the car, I was told that it could not be sold as a Certified vehicle because it has the open manufacturer recall #20TA02. It has been almost 9 months and I have not received any notice of a pending fix for this potentially deadly recall, summarized below. SUMMARY: The subject vehicles are equipped with a low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This may result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. SAFETY RISK: If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash. REMEDY: Any authorized Toyota dealer will replace the low-pressure fuel pump with an improved one FREE OF CHARGE. I am hesitant to take the vehicle on a long trip or take it on the highway. I do not want to be stranded during my trip or die if the fuel pump shuts off at high speed. I have been purchasing Toyota products since 2000. I am feeling very abused and and neglected buy what I thought was a safe and reliable brand. I will be in the market for another vehicle soon. Now, I am not sure Toyota is the only brand to consider. Please let them know that I am not a happy customer because of this ongoing problem with their Number 1 Selling vehicle. I LEASED THIS VEHICLE IN JULY 2020 FOR 24 MONTHS, THE BATTERY IS NOT DEPENDABLE; FREQUENTLY, AT RANDOM TIMES, THE CAR WON'T START.. I HAVE HAD TO CALL FOR ASSISTANCE 6 TIMES. TOYOTA EXPLAINED THAT THE BATTERY HAS A DEFECT CALLED PARASITIC DRAIN BECAUSE OF OVERLOAD FROM 40 COMPUTERS AND ONLY SOLUTION IS TO DRIVE AT LEAST 1/2 HOUR TWICE A WEEK. I AM 88 YEARS OLD WITH MACULA DEGENERATION AND CONSIDER THIS AN UNSAFE REQUIREMENT. TOYOTA SUGGESTED BUYING A NEW BATTERY BUT IF, AS STATED BY THE MECHANIC, THE BATTERY IS GETTING CONTINUOUSLY DRAINED BY OVERLOAD, THAT MAKES NO SENSE, I ASKED IF THEY COULD BLOCK OFF SOME OF THE DRAINAGE (LIKE BLUETOOTH) THEY SAID NOT THIS MODEL.I COMPLAINED THAT I WASN'T INFORMED OF THIS DEFECT BEFORE BUYING AND THEY EXPLAINED IT WAS IN THE MANUEL WHICH I DIDN'T RECEIVE UNTIL I SIGNED THE AGREEMENT.
AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE I HAD A HORRIBLE SMELL IN THE VEHICLE AND AFTER INVESTIGATING THERE WAS WATER POOLING IN THE BACK PASSENGER SEAT UNDER THE WEATHERTEC FLOOR MAT. THERE HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS OF RAIN BEFORE THIS.THIS HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER A FEW WEEKS AND BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER THE WATER UNDER THE MATT IN THE BACK SEAT WAS FROZEN. THERE HAD BEEN SNOW IN MY AREA AT THIS TIME ALSO. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE IT AND NOW THEY ARE HOLDING ME RESPONSIBLE FOR IT.
I PURCHASED MY CAMRY IN OCTOBER. WHEN STARTING IT UP IN THE MORNING FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS THERE WAS A SLIGHT HESITATION. I ATTRIBUTED THE ISSUE TO THE COLD TEMPERATURES AND ALLOWED THE CAR TO WARM UP BEFORE DRIVING. YESTERDAY AFTERNOON MY CAR WOULDN'T START AT ALL. IT MAKES A CLICKING AND RATTLING NOISE SIMILAR TO AN OLD CLUNKER. I WAS PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY APARTMENT COMPLEX. I CALLED THE BROWN'S TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD TO CONTACT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED THERE. THEY WERE CLOSING AT 4P AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CHECK OUT THE CAR UNTIL MONDAY. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A LOANER CAR UPFRONT AND BE REIMBURSED IF IT WAS DETERMINED THAT I DIDN'T CAUSE THE CAR NOT TO START. SO RIDICULOUS. I SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH A BRAND NEW CAR. FROM THE LOOKS OF IT READING THROUGH THESE OTHER REPORTS THERE'S A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE 2020 TOYOTA CAMRY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING FROM THE FUEL CAP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BRADLEY FORD OF LAKE HAVASU CITY (1690 INDUSTRIAL BLVD, LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ 86403, (928) 855-1191) HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
