I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT GOING APPROX 50 MILES AN HOUR, FRONAL IMPACT. NEITHER OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE FRONT CAME OUT. I HAVE CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEY INVESTIGATED THE CAR BUT THEY WILL NOT CONTACT ME AND LET ME KNOW WHAT THEIR INVESTIGATION TURNED UP. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY KEEP GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND.
VEHICLE STRUCTURE DID NOT OFFER ADEQUATE PROTECTION DURING REAR END COLLISION, SEVERE INJURIES SUSTAINED (ONE CONSUMER IN COMA OTHER SKULL FRACTURE). MJS
WHILE DRIVING THE HOOD SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. OWNER HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OF THE HOOD. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
THE VEHICLE UPON REACHING 70+ MPH, EMITS A LOUD ENGINE NOISE, AND THIS NOISE GETS LOUDER AS I DRIVER FASTER. I HAVE TO TURN UP THE RADIO OR TALK LOUDER BECAUSE OF THE NOISE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINE IS GOING TO EXPLODE. EACH TIME I HEAR THIS NOISE, IT UPSETS ME. THIS NOISE IS NOT NORMAL AND I AM TIRED OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN ITS CURRENT STATE.
FAILURE OF THE HOOD LATCH AND HINGES CAUSED HOOD TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING.
VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE.
WHEN VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END CRASH, IMPACTED AT 50 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT COLLASPED INTO THE BACK SEAT. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT THAT WAY SO DRIVER WOULD NOT TAKE IMPACT. THE SEAT HAS BEEN REPAIRED. *AK ONE PERSON WAS INJURED IN ACCIDENT, CONSUMER IS CONCERNED THAT IF ANYONE WOULD HAVE BEEN SEATED IN THE BACK SEAT, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED. *SLC
INTERMITTENTLY THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WILL BLOW OUT. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE SOCKET AND THE CONDITION IS REOCCURRING. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*JB

WHILE DRIVING NOTICED THAT A VEHICLE WAS BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY, DID NOT HAVE TIME TO HIT THE BRAKES AND WENT RIGHT INTO THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. 523377 DUPLICATE OF 815096, POSTED ON 03-NOV-98. *AK

I SUSPECT THE ELECTRIC DESIGN HAS PROBLEMS, WHICH CAUSE THE STOP LIGHTS MALFUNCTIONING. THE BULBS ARE USUALLY OK IF YOU TEST THEM. I HAVE NOTICED MANY OCCURANCES ON 1994 THROUGH 1996 MODELS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. THANKS.
FALSE DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S/PASSENGER'S AIRBAG RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT/INJURIES.
CONSUMER CAME AROUND A CORNER AND HIT THE CURB, THEN HIT A POLE AND THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED LATER, CAUSING HIS PANTS TO CATCH ON FIRE IN LAP AREA. CONSUMER RECEIVED BURNS IN LAP AREA. *AK
I HAVE REPLACED NUMEROUS BULBS TO FINALLY BE TOLD IT'S THE CASING OR BULB HOLDER THAT'S DEFECTIVE AND THEY HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH REAR LIGHTING IN THIS MODEL COROLLA. DT
CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN 20 MPH FRONTAL COLLISION IN WHICH THE DIRVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING OCCUPANTS TO SUSTAIN INJURIES. PLEASE GIVE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK*AK
PASSENGER'S POWER WINDOW ROLLS DOWN FROM PASSENGER'S SWITCH, HOWEVER MUST BE PUT BACK UP USING DRIVER'S SWITCH.
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED/REPLACED DUE TO POOR DESIGN.
BRAKES FAILED.
TWO SEPARATE TIRE BLOWOUTS DUE TO LARGE CUTS/HOLES IN THE SIDEWALLS. DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE CAUSED BY RUNNING OVER ANYTHING.
CLUTCH ASSEMBLY FAILED, CLUTCH PAD IN FOR REPAIR, REPLACED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. *AK
DRIVING VEHICLE AT SPEED OF 5MPH, WENT TO TURN THE WHEEL AND STEERING LOCKED UP, COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HIT THE CURB. *AK

DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN A DEER HIT VEHICLE, SEAT BELT LOCKED DRIVER VERY TIGHTLY ON STOMACH, TOP OF BELT WAS VERY LOOSE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO ORDER A WHOLE NEW SEAT BELT, BUCKLE WOULD NOT LOCK. *AK
THE VEHICLE WAS REARENDED AT 45 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT RAIL BENT, CAUSING THE SEAT LATCH TO BREAK AND THE SEAT TO GO BACK. *AK *JB

DEPLOYMENT OF PASSENGER'S AIRBAG WAS VIOLENT, CAUSING BURNS TO DRIVER'S FACE/ NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG, CAUSING INJURY TO CHEST.
THE KNOB ON A/C LEVER FAILED.
WHILE DRIVING NOTICED SPARKS ON FLOORBOARD, PULLED TO SIDE, ENTIRE DASHBOARD WENT UP IN FLAMES, NO WARNING, SPEED 10 MPH, VEHICLE TOTALED; MANUFACTURER CLAIMED VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTENING. *AK

REAR DOOR LOCK WOULD NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE/INSIDE; ALSO, CHILD SAFETY LOCKS ON BOTH DOORS BROKE AND WERE REPLACED. *AK
