The contact's mother owns a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that on several occasions while he was driving straight at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle began to drift to the left and right inadvertently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I purchased my car in March 2023. From the first week, it wouldn't start sometimes. Id wait 5 minutes, then it would start fine. I thought it was when it got wet, at first. I also had a certain part replaced air flow compressor, possibly was called?, thinking this would fix it. It did not. In fact, the problem seemed to be happening more and more but, always, if I waited 5 to 10 minutes, sometimes messed around under the hood, it would start. This was not very comforting however, when it would stall at a light and not start right back up. I took it to AutoZone and was run on the diagnostics machine. Was told it needed new spark plugs and ignition coil packs. Which I got and replaced. Still happening. I took back to AutoZone, had it run again on diagnostic. This time it said battery. So I had a new battery put in. Still happening. All along, might I add, my fuses will blow randomly, my headlights And taillights will blow for no reason. One taillightooks like it melted through the plastic before it decided to blow. I e replaced some fuses, only to have blown again. I also have replaced the light bulb in taillight, only to have blown twice more. This is very dangerous, especially at a traffic light or, late at night if I need to go somewhere or leave somewhere And it won't start. I've been stuck in the middle of the road, on the wring sidevif the riad, in the midfle if a snowstorm, with it not starting for me. Also, it was gett5really cold without heat and, I was nearly hit several times as i was also at the bottom of a steep hill when my car decided to stop sliding backwards and stall on me and would not restart. That was the most fearful I have been with this issue and with good reason! I now see several others having similar issues with their same exact car. Why isn't Toyota addressing this?
The contact owned a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at 5 mph and exiting a parking lot when the vehicle accelerated on its own, veered to the left, and crashed into a gate. No warning lights were illuminated and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injury to the right shoulder, right foot, and right hand, but did not seek medical attention. No police report was filed. The vehicle was totaled and towed to a towing company. Additionally, the contact stated in 2021 while reversing from a parking space, as the vehicle was driving forward, it veered to the left and crashed into a tree. The vehicle was towed to the to be diagnosed and repaired. Per the contact, the dealer offered no diagnosis or reason for the acceleration. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.
I have been sent two different recalls on my cars airbags. I had one repaired. I do not know how to tell what repairs were were not done. They’ve all been marked as being done yet. Four years later less than four years later my airbag warning light is on. I’m concerned that supposedly the sensor was a rotating and warmer climate and then it was that it would propel shop objects and now I don’t have a recall, but I’ve had a light on, and of course, now other Toyotas of the same group that mine is usually in Corolla Tacoma on and on , I’m having a similar problem with the light being on and I’m very concerned that one are both of those airbags are not properly working. I’ve tried to explain to Toyota that I need to be able to identify and have problems fixed that are due to their manufacturing issues. my mats were never fixed by Toyota. I had to fix them myself. Having this repair investigated is going to cost me a lot of money and what I’m gonna find out. I bet is that other colors were recalled for it. What’s the likelihood that my car still has airbag issues , especially where all the recalls are marked is done and I know that I only had took it in once to have it fixed and that was for the sensor and I don’t even know how the parts the flying parts play into this. I hope you can find out if Ty should be expanding this recall, or if they’re just getting nailed with the recent ones Because there’s not enough 2009 Corolla on the road anymore to justify a recall .
Power steering fails to operate causing loss of control while navigating turns.
My daughter was hit by a red light runner at 60mph and her airbags did not deploy at all. Her head hit the door and she sustained a broken collarbone, concussion and mild brain bleed.

UNKNOWN airbag light is on and never goes off. This worries me because it could affect my safety.
The steering stopped responding, car started spinning hitting both left and right retaining walls. Normal high way driving. Great dry weather. NO WARNING- no shake- no rattle-no lights- no noise-NOTHING
Vehicle speed control / sudden unintended acceleration. This was NOT a "misapplication of pedal" by driver! It was clearly a mechanical failure—apparently accelerator pedal (not floor mat, which was secured on its pegs). NO warning lamp, msg, symptom prior to crash. Afterward, saw NHTSA rpts others FIXED speed control issue & same prob STILL recurred! My VIN wasn't listed as unrepaired (likely the original owner repaired recall issue/s)—yet car was still dangerous! At slow speed, approx 1-2 mph, I was entering my garage in usual way, turning R. Car abruptly sped up uncontrollably (self-accelerated); couldn't stop it! Crashed thru garage doorpost & wall, then backyard fence. Lucky I'm alive & no one in yard. VERY traumatic! Physical injury (neck/back) helped by ibuprofen. FWIW air bag didn't deploy. AAA said they'd only tow for repair, not inspection. I wasn't going to repair; I'd NEVER trust driving that car again & wouldn't sell to ANYONE to drive, due to grave concern same issue'd recur! Available for inspection at PickNPull, Moss Landing, CA. PnP corp agreed they'd haul away ONLY for its OTHER parts—order taker understood it had UNTRUSTED accelerator pedal / vehicle speed control. They also promised me they wouldn't let anyone drive it! Of 2009 Corolla NHTSA's 1,523 rpts, "vehicle speed control" is 3rd highest, far > nearly all other rpts. Below, a few of MANY related examples. (Note: dates may be either report or incident dates.) 10/26/21 NHTSA #11438174; 5/31/17 #10992371; 7/16/16 #10885246 ("CAR WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL...STILL AN ISSUE WITH UNINTENDED ACCELERATION.); 6/3/16, #10872355; 10/2/14 #10640760 ("VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT FAILURE RECURRED"); 9/30/14 #10640098; 9/25/14 #10639073; 11/16/13 #10552563; 3/4/12 #10450183; 2/10/12 #10450183 ("ALREADY HAD ALL OF TOYOTA'S "RECALL" REMEDIES";) 1/29/12 #10447756; 6/22/10 #10343426 (recall work had been done); 6/23/10 #10340943 (work had been done); 6/6/10 #10339969; 5/18/10 #10330952.
Side styrofoam piece broke with just basic use and installation. Seems to occur frequently with this seat.
My 2009 Toyota Corolla is once again exhibiting undesired acceleration. Toyota has deemed this vehicle repaired in response to the recall that covered this issue. I was told it was caused by the floormat which it obviously was not. The accelerator pedal sticks and they will not fix it under the previous recall. Is there any steps I can take to get this situation resolved? I was told the car is no longer under warranty so any repairs regarding this issue would be put on me.
My driver’s side window controls are slowly falling into the doors. I read where there was a recall online, but I have never received any paperwork. I am the original owner and have had all work done at various Toyota’s for 13 years now. Will I be able to have a dealer fix this? Thank you,
The car speed variable when I try speed up became slow or sometimes it speed up one time it stops in the middle of rail crossing and completely stop then I moved out and the car pushed up other side and the car accelerated not working properly nod the fuel system also I have big doubt about this car!
2009 Toyota Corolla S was involved in an accident where the car flipped several times. Not a single airbag deployed.
My Toyota power door lock actuators continue to fail, even after multiple replacements. The failure mode starts as intermittent operation, often leaving doors unlocked when using the electronic locking system. Eventually the door lock actuator fails to respond at all. The intermittent nature of the failure onset puts consumers at risk for not realizing the system left their car unlocked, providing an opportunity for someone to enter the vehicle and wait in the car for vehicle owner to return or to have things stolen from the vehicle. Based on the repeated failures, the actuator design or manufacturing process is clearly defective. The repeated actuator failures requires the customer to be vigilant for failures and the pay for replacement, several hundreds of dollars each time, out of their own pocket since Toyota refuses to acknowledge an egregious failure rate on their power door lock mechanisms. Cynical observers may note that the failures generate a regular revenue stream for Toyota service departments. Thank you for your time.
RUMBLING NOISE UNDER THE HOOD COMING FROM THE ENGINE ,CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, AT A SLOWING DOWN SPEED THE CAR STARTS VIBRATING AND MAKES THE RUMBLING NOISE UNDER THE HOOD!! UNSAFE TO DRIVE !! CAR WENT TO THE DEALER WILLIAMS HONDA - SEVERAL TIMES BACK TO CHECK THE CODE AND TO FIX THE PROBLEMS!! WE HAD TO BRING THIS COMPLAINT WITH THE MANAGEMENT AND BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, WE ARE REQUESTED A COMPENSATION FROM A DEALER FOR SELLING UNSAFE VEHICLE TO US, WE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS WHOLE MATTER IN DETAILS TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, WE REQUESTED A MONETARY COMPENSATION $500. WE ARE REQUESTING FROM NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES: TO HELP AND ASSIST US TO COLLECT COMPENSATION OF $500 FROM A DEALER WILLIAMS HONDA THAT IS IN ELMIRA NEW YORK.
WHILE DRIVING HOME MY CAR STARTED BURNING. I PULLED OVER WITH SMOKE POURING OUT OF THE ENGINE AREA AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED. I OPENED THE HOOD AND THERE WERE FLAMES COMING UP FROM BEHIND THE ENGINE. THE FIRE GREW UNTIL IT ENGULFED THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE 2009 MATRIX WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED. I NOTICED NO PRIOR WARNING SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS.
THIS CAR BURNS OIL AT A RIDICULOUS RATE.
I have had my 2009 Toyota Corolla since day 1. I seen another post in here that is having the same issue as myself. I have had to replace my battery 3 times all because the “wiring harness” on this vehicle is faulty. Toyota knew about this beforehand. As customers we put our trust and faith in these big corporations to do the right thing when making these vehicles. We, as customers, shouldn’t have to purchase and pay for labor when all while Toyota was aware of the faulty wiring harness. This causes more issues than 1 because it controls everything inside and outside of your car.
MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT ON 01/27/2021, SHE PRESSED ON THE BRAKES BUT THEY DID NOT ENGAGE CAUSING HER TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE ON A NEIGHBORHOOD SIDE STREET
WHILE DRIVING ON A DIVIDED HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES PER HOUR, I LEFT THE ROADWAY AND STRUCK A STEEL GUARDRAIL. THE IMPACT TOTALLED THE CAR BUT DID NOT RESULT IN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING.
MY CAR IS A MANUAL. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 25MPH WHEN IN BETWEEN 3RD AND 4TH THE CAR ENGINE REVVED UP TO ABOUT 5K OR 6K RPM. I TRIED TO JUST HIT THE GAS BUT IT WOULDN'T GO BACK DOWN. I DID NOT RELEASE THE CLUTCH. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT SO IT WOULDN'T DO THAT AGAIN. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER THAT AND I DID THE SAME THING BY RESTARTING IT. I NOTICED A DIFFERENT PRESSURE IN THE GAS PEDAL WITH MY FOOT DURING THIS OCCURRENCE. AFTER THE SECOND TIME, IT DID NOT OCCUR AGAIN. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPEND. IT HAPPENED ABOUT 10,000MILES BEFORE. THIS HAPPENED AT ABOUT 101,500MILES.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MERGING ONTO RT3 FROM I-95-S TOWARDS CAPE COD BY SOUTH QUINCY AREA. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED SUDDENLY AND I SLAMMED ON MY BREAKS, THE CAR BEHIND ME ENDED UP REAR-ENDING MY CAR WHICH RESULTED IN ME HITTING MY HEAD ON MY HEAT REST WHICH RESULTED IN WHIPLASH. THE WOMAN WHO HIT ME CLAIMED SHE CALLED THE POLICE AND SAID THAT THE COP TOLD HER WE NEED TO EXCHANGE LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS. WE DID EXACTLY THAT BUT NOT PHONE NUMBER OR ANYTHING. AFTER WE EXCHANGED, SHE TOOK OFF RIGHT AWAY. THE CAR THAT STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME LEFT THE SCENE RIGHT AWAY. THIS WAS MY FIRST ACCIDENT SO I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT NOW I AM REALIZING THAT SHE MAY NEVER HAVE CALLED THE POLICE CONSIDERING THAT NO ONE SHOWED UP AND THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND NEARLY KILLED MYSELF 149,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND THIS IS SUPER DANGEROUS. FROM WHAT I READ, PLENTY OF OTHER MATRIX DOING THE SAME. BRAKES, WINDOWS ALL WENT OUT AS WELL
THE BREAK STOPPED WORKING. I HAD ALMOST GOTTEN INTO A CAR ACCIDENT. FORTUNATELY, I HIT A CLOSE DONATION METAL CONTAINER AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. I HAVE MY CAR CHECKED OUT BY A MECHANIC AND THE ISSUE IS NOT RELATED TO BREAK PADS AND/OR ROTOR. IT IS A DUE TO A MANUFACTURING RELATED ISSUE; HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM. I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET IT TOWED FOR A RECALL SERVICE TO DARCARS TOYOTA DEALER IN SILVER SPRING MD WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THIS MODEL AND YEAR IS UNDER RECALL FOR BREAKS BUT NOT IN THE STATE OF MD OR DC. YOU CAN REACH ME AT [XXX] OR [XXX]. 2009 COROLLA LE - INCIDENT ON OHIO TURNPIKE ON 9/27/20. 3 LANE HIGHWAY. DRIVER IN THE MIDDLE LANE SAW A DEER AHEAD IN THE RIGHT LANE MOVING TOWARDS MEDIAN. DRIVER SWERVED TO THE LEFT TO AVOID HITTING THE DEER AND, IN A PROCESS, HIT THE MEDIAN CONCRETE BARRIER. VEHICLE SMASHED FULL FORCE INTO CONCRETE BARRIER, BOUNCED OFF, SPUN AND ENDED ON THE RIGHT SIDE ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER. VEHICLE COMPLETELY DESTROYED. IT WAS A HIGH SPEED FULL FORCE IMPACT WITH MEDIAN TO EVADE HITTING DEER, VEHICLE TOTALED/ NOT REPARABLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS GOT DEPLOYED AND THEY SHOULD.THE ENTIRE FRONT, INCLUDING CRACKED WINDSHIELD WITH GLASS PARTICLES FALLING ONTO THE DASHBOARD AND THE DRIVERS HANDS HOLDING STEERING WHEEL. MAJOR DAMAGE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AS WELL AS ON THE BACK CORNER OF THE VEHICLE @ THE DRIVERS'S SIDE. DRIVER GOT WORSE INJURIES THAN HE WOULD IF BAGS.DEPLOYED AS THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. DRIVER HAD THE GLASS DUST PARTICLES AND BITS FROM THE SHATTERED WINDSHIELD ALL OVER HIM AND EMBEDDED IN HIS HANDS..PLEASE INVESTIGATE. I WANT TO PREVENT SOMEONE ELSEWHERE FROM GETTING INJURED DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I AM SURE THIS IS NOT THE ONLY 2009 COROLLA WITH THIS ISSUE. IT IS A SHAME FOR THE TOYOTA BRAND TO ALLOW THE MAIN SAFETY FEATURE (AND THE IMPORTANT SELLING POINT FOR THEIR BRAND) TO MALFUNCTION. THANK YOU
IT'S THE TRANSMISSION THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND I HAVE A CHILD AND I DONT WANT THE TRANSMISSION TO BRAKE ON ME ON THE HIGHWAY OR FREEWAY.

THE INSURANCE WILL EVALUATE THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF IT SHOULD BE TOTALED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,200.
RADDLE IN THE ENGINE. LOOSE VALVE
MY VEHICLE IS GOING THROUGH SEVERAL QUARTS OF OIL WITHIN THE 3,000 MILE RANGE. EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION.
MY PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG PLASTIC COVERING IS BROKEN AND FALLING OFF, NO WAY TO FIX IT AS ALL THE CLIPS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE ARE BROKEN AND UNREPLACEABLE WITHOUT DEPLOYING THE AIRBAG. *TR
2009 COROLLA IS DRIFTING LEFT AND RIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. SOME VIBRATION. RECENTLY HAD NEW TIRES AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND STILL VERY UNSTABLE, FEELS LIKE DRIVING A BOAT AND CAN MOVE LEFT OR RIGHT AT ANY TIME. IT HAS ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING NOT HYDROLOGIC. I'M THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED TWICE ON CAR WHICH IS UNUSUAL. ANY RECALL OF THE ELECTRICAL RACK AND PINION FOR THIS VEHICLE? MY MECHANIC DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX BESIDES REPLACING THE WHOLE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM.
Subject: Request to Consider Recall for 2009 Toyota Matrix Excessive Oil Consumption Dear Toyota Motor Corporation/NHTSA, I am writing to bring to your attention a persistent issue with my 2009 Toyota Matrix, which has been experiencing excessive oil consumption. Despite regular maintenance and oil changes, the vehicle continues to burn through oil at an alarming rate, posing potential environmental and safety hazards. After researching this issue, I found that numerous 2009 Toyota Matrix owners have reported similar problems, suggesting a possible design or manufacturing flaw. I believe it is essential for Toyota to acknowledge this issue and take corrective action to ensure the safety and well-being of drivers and the environment. I respectfully request that you consider adding excessive oil consumption to the list of recalls for the 2009 Toyota Matrix. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and take necessary steps to address this issue. Please find below the details of my vehicle: - Year: 2009 - Make: Toyota - Model: Matrix - Mileage: 92000 - Engine: 2.4L 2AZ-FE Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
MY CAR HAS LESS THEN 86,000 MILES AND THE ENGINE IS STARTING TO FAIL WHICH MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. IT STARTED AT AROUND 80,000 MILES
MY CAR HAS 91,414 MILES AND HAS HAD MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRES WITH MY NORMAL DAILY COMMUTE OF SIX MILES EACH WAY. IN THREE YEARS ON A 4 CYLINDER ENGINE I HAVE HAD THREE IGNITION COILS REPLACED, TWICE WITHIN TWO AND A HALF YEARS AND 10,468 MILES ON THE #2 COIL. ALL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BY TOYOTA CERTIFIED REPAIR FACILITIES WITH TOYOTA OEM PARTS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE MAINTAINED WITH REGULAR SERVICE.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) WAS BLINKING AND STAY ON YESTERDAY. TODAY IT DOES THE SAME. SO TWO DAYS IN A ROW THIS HAPPENED. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY BOTH DAYS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A RECALL NOTIFICATION WAS RECEIVED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V741000 (AIR BAGS) AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LYNCH TOYOTA LOCATED AT 179 TOLLAND TURNPIKE, MANCHESTER, CT 06042, (860) 464-4321) WHERE THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP, THE DOOR LOCKS OF THE VEHICLE FAILED TO CLOSE SECURELY. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER ABOUT THE DOORS FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,000.
EXTREMELY LOOSE STEERING. CAR HAS NO CONTROL ON HIGHWAY. I ALMOST HIT A CAR. CALLED TOYOTA AND PRETTY MUCH GOT HUNG UP BY TOYOTA REP.
RATTLING NOISE FROM RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE AT START UP OR COLD STARTUPS.
FIRE ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, SWITCHES PERTAINING TO WINDOWS, CAR WAS MOTION
MY CAR WAS RUNNING FINE UNTIL RECENTLY, WHEN I HAD A FEW SERVICES DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP: BRAKE FLUID, TRANSMISSION DRAIN/FILL, OIL CHANGE, AND FUEL INJECTION SERVICE (THIS LAST ITEM I DID NOT ASK FOR OR APPROVE BEFOREHAND). A COUPLE DAYS LATER, MY CAR BEGAN STALLING WHEN I WAS DRIVING (WHILE COMING TO A STOP/ NOT PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR). NO CEL / OVERHEATING/ LOW OIL ISSUES- ALWAYS REGULAR MAINTENANCE. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THE ENGINE HAD LOW COMPRESSION AND THEY SUSPECTED A CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK. THEY ALSO CHECKED TO SEE TO SEE IF MY ECM WAS UPDATED. THAT WAS ALL THEY SAID AFTER BEING THERE 5 HOURS. I HAD TO LEAVE FOR WORK, BROUGHT IT BACK A FEW DAYS LATER, THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO LOOK AT IT WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. A FEW DAYS LATER, MY CAR WOULDN'T START AT ALL. TOOK IT BACK IN, THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY IT HAD LOW COMPRESSION/ STALLING/ NOT STARTING BECAUSE NO OIL OR COOLANT LEAKS OR MIXING, NO OVERHEATING, ETC. TOLD ME THE ONLY OPTION IS TO REPLACE ENGINE. (COST OF TEARING ENGINE APART TO FIND CRACK OR CRACKED GASKET NOT WORTH COST IN LABOR BECAUSE OF CAR'S AGE/ MILEAGE- 2009 COROLLA, AROUND 176K). HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE? I SUSPECT THAT SOMETHING WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY DURING A RECENT SERVICE, OR MAYBE THEY DID NOT UPDATE/FLASH MY ECM CORRECTLY. OF COURSE, THEY ARE NOT CLAIMING ANY RESPONSIBILITY. VERY FRUSTRATING. THE DEALERSHIP MANAGER DID OFFER ME A DISCOUNT ON THE USED ENGINE REPAIRS, BUT THIS SEEMS LIKE EITHER MANUFACTURER ERROR OR TECHNICIAN ERROR.
I HAVE BEEN ON TOYOTA RECALL LIST FOR TWO YEARS AND EVERY TIME I GET ANOTHER CARD ABOUT RECALL , I CALL DEALERSHIP AND THEY PUT ME ON A WAIT LIST . AS PART IS NOT AVAILABLE OR SUPPLY AND DEMAND . UNACCEPTABLE AND NOW IT SEEMS THERE IS ALSO A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE AND THE GAS PEDAL WILL REV AND ACCELERATE AND JERK FORWARD ON ITS ON WHILE I JUST BARELY GOT FOOT OF BRAKE . AND THEN IT WILL ACCELERATE UNTIL I PUT FOOT ON GAS AND IT WILL JERK FORWARD TRYING TO ACCERLELERATE AND THEN I GET CONTROL
I HAVE A TOYOTA COROLLA 2009S IT WAS PART OF THE ORIGINAL TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL THAT ORIGINAL REMEDY WAS COMPLETED IN 2017. SINCE THAT DAY I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND CONCERNS WITH A FOUL ODOR COMING FROM THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY THE DEALERSHIP VIA EMAIL SAYING THAT I NEED TO BRING IT BACK IN THE AIRBAGS ARE BEING RECALLED THAT WERE USED TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL RECALL. ONCE I GET TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAY MY VIN NUMBER HAS NOT HIT IN HSTA'S WEBSITE SO I'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT WHICH COULD BE UP TO A YEAR. THEY HAVE INDICATED MULTIPLE TIMES THAT MY VEHICLE IS GOING TO BE RECALLED IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME IN THE MEANTIME I'M LEFT TO DRIVE A CAR THAT IS A PUBLIC SAFETY FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS KNOWING THAT THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY AT ANYTIME. HE INFORMED ME THE VEHICLES IN FLORIDA RECALLS WILL BE REPAIRED FIRST DUE TO THE HEAT AND THEN THEY'LL MOVE THEIR WAY UP TO ZOMBIE IN THE MEANTIME I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND IT'S TOO DANGEROUS FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS TO DRIVE THEY FAILED TO WORK WITH ME.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG OF MY VEHICLE WHICH TOYOTA FIXED. WHILE THE TECHNICIAN WAS FIXING MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG THEY DISCOVERED THAT MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG HAD BEEN DEACTIVATED. I CONTACTED TOYOTA ABOUT THE PROBLEM AFTER READING ABOUT A RECALL WHICH ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO A SPIRAL CABLE ASSEMBLY CAN BE DAMAGED WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED. WHICH COULD LEAD TO THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG TO BEING DEACTIVATED, AND FAILING TO DEPLOY IN A CRASH. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.
AT HIGHWAY SPEED CAR WANDERS ACROSS LANES. EXPERIENCED COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING DOWN SIDE STREET.
I OWN A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA LE 1.8 THAT HAS DEFECTIVE PISTON RINGS WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO CONSUME EXCESSIVE OIL AND IT HAS CAUSED TWO OF THE ENGINE CYLINDERS TO MALFUNCTION. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS IN THE INTERNET OF TOYOTA COROLLA OWNERS WHO OWN THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE AS MINE YEARS 2009-2011. THEY AS WELL AS MYSELF HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO TOYOTA U.S.A. WITHOUT GETTING ANY SATISFYING ANSWER FROM TOYOTA. A TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE CONTACTED ME TODAY AND TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT RECALL VEHICLES FOR REPAIRS UNLESS THEY RECEIVE AN ORDER FROM THE NHTSA. MY AUTO MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT HE HAS RECEIVED MANY 2009-2011 TOYOTA COROLLA CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE COME TO HIS SHOP TO HAVE THEIR ENGINES ON THEIR TOYOTA COROLLAS REPLACED OR REBUILT TO CORRECT THE FACTORY DEFECT OF THE PISTON RINGS ON THEIR TOYOTA COROLLAS 2009-2011. I RESEARCHED IN THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THAT THAT MANY TOYOTA COROLLA OWNERS ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR CARS' ENGINES DUE TO THE TOYOTA FACTORY DEFECT OF THE PISTON RINGS IN THEIR TOYOTA COROLLA MODELS 2009-2011 AND I EVEN READ SOME COMPLAINTS OF 2014, 2015 AND 2016 TOYOTA COROLLA OWNERS. I WOULD LIKE FOR YOUR AGENCY TO PAY ATTENTION TO COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE OF OTHER TOYOTA COROLLA OWNERS. I AM SURPRISED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL ISSUED TO CORRECT THE FACTORY DEFECT OF THE PISTON RINGS OF TOYOTA COROLLAS OF YEARS 2009-2011 AND OTHER YEARS AFTER THOSE. MY CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN 137,250 MILES AND I HAD KEPT THE MAINTENANCE UP TO DATE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND I HOPE SOMETHING IS DONE BY YOUR AGENCY TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER.
I DO BELIEVE THE ENGINE IS FAULTY, SINCE I'VE HAD MY COROLLA IT'S ALWAYS USED SOOO MUCH OIL AND IT'S NOT LEAKING A DRIP. I HAVE SEVERAL COWORKERS THAT HAVE A COROLLA S AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S GOTTEN WORSE TO WE'RE IT USED TO MUCH OIL IT WAS BELOW THE DIP STICK AND BEFORE I COULD CATCH IT, IT HAS MESSED MY MOTOR UP. MY CAR STILL RUNS BUT HAS A VERY LOUD RATTLE IN THE MOTOR NOW WHEN IT STARTS BECAUSE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION.
MY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, VSC KEEPS BLINKING
