IN A FRONTAL CRASH THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED AND THE ROOF HANDLE WAS EJECTED FROM ITS BASE LIKE A PROJECTILE AND HIT THE DRIVER HEAD WITH GREAT FORCE .
VEHICLE STOPS RUNNING WHILE ON THE STREET, FREEWAY & AT STOPS. HAS TO TURN OFF ENGINE & THEN IT RESTARTS. HAVE TAKEN SEVERAL TIMES TO TOYOTA DEALER IN CERRITOS, CA & TO OUR MECHANIC & NOTHING IS FOUND AT THE TIME THEY CHECK IT OUT. *TR
MY LIGHT CAME ON 80.000 MILES AND I WAS INFORMED IT IS THE SHIFT SOLENOIDS VALE P2757, WHAT WAS REPLACED, AND RIGHT AFTER TAHT THE CODE CAME ON AGAIN P2757 WITH A DIFFEREND DIAGNOSTIC.SHAVINGS FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND I NEED A COMPLETE NEW TRANSMISSION. THERE ARE NO AVAILABLE ONLY THROUGH THE DEALER 2 IN HOUSTON REBUILD NO NEW ONES . CAN YOU CHECK IN TO THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE A LOT OF COLMPLAINS ON THE WEBSITES

THE RUBBER SEAL FROM THE WIND SHEALD IS FLYING OFF ALSO THE BACK WINDOW SAME PROBLEM.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER CRASH AND NOT A SINGLE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I HONESTLY THINK IT'S A DEFECT FROM ALL THE ISSUES THAT TOYOTA HAS HAD WITH AIRBAGS. I WAS RAN OFF THE ROAD GOING AROUND A CURVE AND I HIT A DITCH AND MY CAR FLIPPED END OVER END. THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED, I WAS GOING ABOUT 50MPH, EVERY AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED.

ALL DASHBOARDS CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. ALSO WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE OR PUTTING ANY LOAD ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THE VEHICLE STARTS STALLING. IT IS NOT CONSISTENT AND CAN'T BE REPEATED CONSISTENTLY.
MY 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL ON 2009 CAMRY. EXTREME USE OF OIL. WHEN THE TIME FOR MY 5000-MILE OIL CHANGE MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THERE WERE LESS THAN 2 QTS LEFT IN THE CRANKCASE. SINCE THAT OIL CHANGE, THE CAR HAS USED 1 QT IN 2000 MILES. I VISITED THE POWAY, CA. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP BUT SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL ON COROLLAS THEY WOULD NOT EVEN DISCUSS REPAIRS WITH NO CHARGES. HOW CAN IT BE FAIR THAT ONE VEHICLE THE CAMRY IS COVERED WITH A RECALL AND ANOTHER MODEL THE OWNERS MUST PAY FOR THE REPAIRS OF THE SAME PROBLEM THE CAMRY HAD BUT WITH A RECALL DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING.
NOTICE WHITE SPOTS ON CAR THAT IS STARTING TO PEEL A CLEAR FILM FROM THE PAINT , IT SPREADING FROM THE TRUNK TO THE HOOD AND THE SIDES.
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. I PARKED MY TOYOTA MATRIX WHICH WAS RUNNING PERFECTLY. I STAY UP TO DATE ON TUNEUPS AND OIL CHANGES AND ANY OTHER MAINTENANCE ISSUES THAT ARISE. WHEN I CAME BACK TO MY PARKED CAR I NOTICED A RED EXCLAMATION LIGHT ON WHICH TURNS OUT TO BE THE WARNING LIGHT FOR ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. WHEN I TURNED ON MY CAR I QUICKLY REALIZED THAT I HAD NO POWER STEERING ASSIST. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE MECHANICS AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE FUSE THINKING IT WAS A BROKEN FUSE, BUT NOTHING. THEY CALLED TOYOTA AND EVEN TOYOTA HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS. AS I DID MORE RESEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH TOYOTA MATRIX' BASED ON SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT SOME THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONS HAPPEN WITHIN FOUR YEARS OF A HEALTHY CARS LIFE. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING AS THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT IT HAPPENED WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED BUT IF IT HAD OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING (WHICH IVE SEEN IT HAS) IT COULDVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. ALL INSTANCES THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING. PROBLEM IS RANDOM AND NON-REPEATABLE. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE STALL WHILE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS RANGING FROM 15 MPH TO 55+ MPH (ON HIGHWAYS OR EVEN LOCAL ROADS). MOST RECENT STALL WAS 09/17/2018. MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN, VEHICLE STALLED. TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, WENT TO TURN BACK ON, STALLED AGAIN. TURNED OFF, WAITED FOR A MOMENT, STARTED THE MOTOR AND VEHICLE RAN WITHOUT ANY FURTHER ISSUES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY. IN DOING READING, I SEE THE ENGINE CONTROL MODAL HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE TOYOTA MATRIX UP TO AND INCLUDING 2008 MODELS. I BELIEVE THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO 2009 MODELS. I HAVE ALSO DONE SOME READING THAT THERE WAS OVERLAP BETWEEN PRODUCTION YEARS OF 2008/2009 WHERE PARTS WERE USED FROM THE 2008 MODELS IN THE 2009 MODELS WHICH FURTHERS MY EMPHASIS TO EXPAND THE RECALL.
ONE MONTH AFTER BUYING MY CAR FROM ANOTHER CONSUMER, I NOTICED THE OIL WAS LOW. I FILLED FULL THE FIRST DAY I GOT IT AND HAD NOT PUT ANY SERIOUS MILEAGE ON IT. TWO WEEKS LATER I START TO HEAR THIS TICKING NOISE AND REALIZED THE OIL FILTER NEEDED CHANGED THE PRIOR WEEK. CHANGED IT. NOTHING HAPPENED. THIS TICKING OCCURS ON START UP, GETS LOUDER WITH THE RPM, AND VIBRATES THE ENTIRE CAR AT STOPS. TOOK MY CAR TO TOYOTA THE NEXT MONTH THINKING IT WAS THE ACCELERATOR BELT OR THE CONNECTION ROD BEARING PLATE. THEY HAD ME PAY PAY 120$ TO TAKE OFF THE VALVE HOOD ONLY TO TELL ME I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I DID A BUNCH OF RESEARCH AFTER THIS AND HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE OVERCONSUMPTION OF OIL FROM THIS YEAR'S MODEL LEADING TO THE FAILURE OF MANY ENGINES. TOYOTA STILL HASN'T ADMITTED FAULT FOR THIS AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL WHEN THERE SHOULD BE. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN 'HONEST, RELIABLE' COMPANY BUT IF THEY EXPECT CONSUMERS TO PAY 2 TO 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A NEW ENGINE THAT WAS THEIR FAULT...I WILL NOT SUPPORT THEM THROUGH BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN. FRANKLY IT'S SICKENING TO READ THAT AFTER 10 YEARS THEY WON'T BE ON THE HOOK FOR THIS FAULTY PRODUCT'S DESIGN. WHILE I UNDERSTAND THOSE WERE TOUGH TIMES, WE ARE STILL FEELING THE 2008 RECESSION THROUGH THIS FAULTY PRODUCT AND A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT HOLD UP TO THEIR NAME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BURNING OIL AT AN ABNORMAL RATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHEN IT WAS RAINING. I HAD TO PULL OVER UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED. MY MECHANIC DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND THOUGHT THERE WAS A BAD CONNECTION WITH THE TRANSMISSION BUT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STILL WON'T WORK. I THEN WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR.
AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF
Once you turn on your car the lifters become stuck and make a loud clicking noise on the engine. It makes the car hesitate to turn on and at times it shuts off the car automatically at any time.
I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH TOYOTA. MY VEHICLE RUNS OUT OF OIL. PERIOD BEFORE 3,000 MILES. NO "RED" OIL LIGHT. IT JUST RUNS OUT OF OIL. I TOOK IT FOR TOYOTA OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND IT PASSED. SO I GO FOR A SECOND TEST. NO. THE 10 YEAR 150,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. SO I AM NOW STUCK PUTTING OIL IN THIS VEHICLE WEEKLY UNTIL IT ULTIMATELY FAILS. IT RUNS ROUGH AND I EXPECT IT TO FAIL. SHAME ON NTSB AND TOYOTA FOR NOT RECALLING THIS MOTOR. I GET A 10 YEAR WARRANTY THAT STARTS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FIRST USED - NOT WHEN I'M NOTIFIED. VERY SHADY AND UNETHICAL. I ALSO HAVE RESERVATIONS THAT THE TEST WAS PROPERLY IMPLEMENTED.
AT RANDOM TIMES THE CAR BEGINS TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN WITH NO INTERFERENCE TO THE PEDAL. IT WILL KEEP ACCELERATING UNTIL I HIT THE PEDAL AND PULL UP ON THE PEDAL WITH MY FOOT. IN NEUTRAL THE ENGINE WILL REV UP TO OVER 6,000 RPM AND CONTINUE GOING UP. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING A NORMAL SPEED AND IS RANDOM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA MATRIX. WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT'S PASSENGER ALSO SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS AWAITING INSPECTION BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIR OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,021.
I BOUGHT MY CAR IN NOVEMBER OF 2012 WITH ABOUT 70,000 MILES AND QUICKLY NOTICED IT BURNED A LOT OF OIL. SHORTLY AFTER THAT I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM TOYOTA ADMITTING THEY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THESE ENGINES BURNING OIL. THEY TOLD ME TO HAVE MY CAR TESTED AT THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD THE CAR TESTED AND TO MY SURPRISE IT PASSED THE TEST. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO TAKE THE TEST AGAIN AFTER 1 YEAR. THE NEXT TIME I TESTED THE CAR IT FAILED THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST BY A LARGE MARGIN. TOYOTA REFUSED TO NOW REPAIR THE CAR BECAUSE I HAD REACHED 151,000 MILES AND THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 150,000 MILES. TOYOTA KNEW ALL ALONG THAT THE CAR HAD OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEMS AND NOW THEY REFUSE TO STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. EVERYWHERE I DRIVE THE CAR NOW I HAVE TO CARRY EXTRA OIL WITH AND ON LONG TRIPS ITS A REAL ISSUE. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT AND WE PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR THESE CARS. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA FOR NOT STANDING BY THEIR PRODUCT.

PROBLEM STILL CONTINUE AND TAKE IT TO DEALER PLACE AND THEY DIAGNOSTIC VEHICLE AND CAME UP WITH FEW PROBLEM WHICH COST ME $1187, AFTER THEY FIXED THEY FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACE AND THEY ALSO SAID TRANSITION COULD FAILURE DOWN THE ROAD AND THEY ESTIMATE ME ANOTHER $4500 TO REPLACE ENGINE FROM DIFFERENT CAR WHICH IS HAS 75000 MILES ON IT.
IN MOTION WITH LIGHTS ON, AND WHEN SWITCHING TO HIGH BEAM LIGHTS SHUT OFF AND VEHICLE WARNING ICONS ON DASH LIGHT UP; LIGHTS COME BACK ON MOMENTARILY.
ENGINE BURNS OIL AT A RATE OF 1 QUART EVERY 500 MILES. MILEAGE IS ONLY 105,000
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG "OFF" LIGHT, WARNING LIGHT AND MAIN AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND REMAIN ON. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED AND WE HAVE NEVER HAD THIS MESSAGE BEFORE. ERROR CODE B1650 AND B1797. THE ERROR CAN NOT BE CLEARED. THE "FIX" IS TO REPLACE THE FLOOR HARNESS THEN THE CENTRAL AIR BAG ECU AND THEN THE SEAT ASSEMBLY UNTIL IT IS FIXED. APRX $5000. 2 TOYOTA MECHANICS GAVE US DIFFERENT DIAGNOSTIC, ONE TELLING US THERE WAS CORROSION AND THE OTHER SAYING THERE WAS A BROKEN WIRE. INDEPENDENT CHECKING OF THE HARNESS SHOWED NEITHER. I AM FROM CANADA BUT THOUGHT I SHOULD SUBMIT THIS HERE ALSO SINCE I SEE COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ISSUE IN THE U.S,
SUSPECT FAULTY ECM (ENGINE CONTROL MODULE) AS EVIDENCED BY RECALL ON VEHICLES UP TO 2008. VEHICLE RANDOMLY LOSES POWER, BOTH IN MOTION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND AT REST. ALL LIGHTS AND INDICATIONS GO DARK. DASH LIGHTS MAY COME BACK ON MOMENTARILY INCLUDING ALL WARNING INDICATIONS IN DASH, AND ENGINE MAY RESUME RUNNING. ALSO STALLS RANDOMLY UPON STARTING, AS WELL AS RANDOMLY WHEN SWITCHING HEADLIGHTS FROM LOW BEAMS TO HIGH BEAMS. RANDOMLY WILL NOT START EITHER, WITH ONLY ONE VERY DIM DASH INDICATION. BATTERY IS 3 MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN LOAD TESTED: IN PERFECT CONDITION. TERMINALS ARE CLEAN WITH SOLID CONNECTIONS. HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS.
THE LOCAL CAR DEALERSHIP WOULD NOR SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO REMEDY THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL ISSUE.
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A LOT OF HIGHWAY WANDERS AND I HAVE REPLACED TIRES AND HAD THREE OR MORE ALIGNMENTS DONE SINCE JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. IT FEELS AS IF THE WILD IS BLOWING A HUNDRED MILES AN HOUR AROUND ME AND PUSHES MY CAR ALL OVER THE FREEWAY. I FEEL IT GETTING WORSE AS WELL. I'M NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO OR WHO TO CONTACT. I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS FIXED ASAP AND WE HAVE TRIED MANY THINGS.
THE PAINT IS GRAY BUT NOW COMING UP WHITE CIRCLES THAT DOES NOT WASH OFF. THE INSIDE DRIVER'S DOOR PANEL DOES NOT STAY TOGETHER. HAS BEEN THIS WAY FOR ONE YEAR AND 9 MONTHS OR SO.
TAKATA RECALL. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHEN TO EXPECT THIS TO BE TAKEN CARE OFF?
MOST PRONOUNCED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CAR WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT GO STRAIGHT. IT FEELS LIKE A NOTCH BOTH TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT OF CENTER. IT TAKES BOTH HANDS TO FIGHT THE WHEEL TO MAKE IT GO SOMEWHAT STRAIGHT. PULLING THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF ONE OF THESE NOTCHES AT 65 MPH MAKES THE CAR VEER A FEW FEET OR MORE IN THE OTHER DIRECTION OF THE NOTCH. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN A CAR OR 18 WHEEL SEMI TRUCK IS IN THE NEXT LANE AND COMPLICATED FURTHER WITH A SIDE WIND. I JUST BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR A TAKATA AIRBAG REPLACEMENT AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR KNEW NOTHING ABOUT ANY STEERING PROBLEMS REGARDING A 2009 COROLLA. I WENT TO THE CORPORATE LEVEL AND AGAIN, TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS. WHEN I ASKED IF I COULD SEND THEM LINKS TO REPORTS BY ABC, CONSUMER REPORTS, USA TODAY AND MULTIPLE OTHER SOURCES ABOUT LAW SUITS, JUDGEMENTS AND DECISIONS, THEY SAID THEY HAD NO WAY OF ACCEPTING THESE LINKS. APPARENTLY, HUNDREDS OF 2009 COROLLAS HAVE THIS ISSUE. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE AT ALL SPEEDS, ALTHOUGH AT SLOWER SPEEDS IT ISN'T AS DANGEROUS BUT MOVING AT A HIGHWAY SPEED MEANS THAT A FEW FEET OF UNPREDICTABILITY IS NOT ONLY POSSIBLE BUT HAPPENS EVERY FEW HUNDRED YARDS. THERE ARE TIMES BUT VERY FEW TIMES WHERE THE STEERING IS COMPLETELY NORMAL. MY SUSPICION IS THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING BOX OR CONTROL MAY BE AFFECTED BY CELL PHONE INTERFERENCE, BOTH FROM MY OWN PHONE AND OTHERS AS WELL AS RECEPTION TOWERS. I AM A DRIVER OF ALMOST 45 YEARS AND HAVE LOGGED ALMOST A MILLION MILES WITH NO ACCIDENTS. I AM MECHANICALLY INCLINED AND AM SENSITIVE TO MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION AND ABNORMALITIES. THIS STEERING ISSUE IS DANGEROUS AND HAS ALREADY COST LIVES AND CREATED ACCIDENTS ACCORDING TO THE ARTICLES I HAVE FOUND. PLEASE HELP ME CONVINCE TOYOTA TO EITHER RECALL THE CAR OR FIX MY CAR TO NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS.
BACK IN JANUARY, 2018 MY ENGINE WOULD KNOCK WHEN I STARTED THE CAR. TOOK THE CAR FOR IT'S SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS ONLY A QUART OF OIL THAT DRAINED. MY OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO CONSUME OIL. TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY ENGINE NEEDED TO EITHER BE REPLACED OR REBUILT. I OPTED TO HAVE IT REBUILT. I PAID $4000 DOLLARS FOR THIS. GOT THE CAR BACK AND DROVE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND CHECKED MY OIL ONLY TO FIND IT WAS DOWN 1 1/2 QUARTS OF OIL AFTER ONLY 2 DAYS OF DRIVING ON BASICALLY A BRAND NEW MOTOR. I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON MY VEHICLE AND HAVE FALLEN BEHIND SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE. SO FAR IN THE TWO YEARS I'VE OWNED THIS CAR I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP/FILTER, WATER PUMP X2, FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS, TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER, SPARK PLUGS X4. THIS IS GETTING REALLY EXPENSIVE. THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT THE VEHICLE A WEEK LATER WHEN I COMPLAINED ABOUT IT MISFIRING.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE CONTACTED 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS IN MY AREA TO COMPLETE THIS RECALL, ONE IN JANUARY 2018 AND ONE IN FEBRUARY 2018. BOTH DEALERS SAID IT WOULD TAKE 3 DAYS FOR THE PART TO COME IN. WHEN I FOLLOWED UP WITH THEM OVER A WEEK LATER, THEY SAID THEY STILL HAS NOT RECEIVED THE PART. I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM EITHER DEALER AND IT'S NOW MAY 2018. AFTER CONTACTING THE LOCAL DEALER (JOHN JACOBS TOYOTA IN MILWAUKEE, WI), THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE RECALL WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE CONTACTED THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER (TEAM TOYOTA OF GLEN MILLS, PA) MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED AND I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL FROM TOYOTA. THE DEALER ALWAYS CLAIMS THEY DON'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND WON'T HAVE THE PARTS FOR A LONG TIME. HOW CAN I GET THE AIR BAG REPLACED?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, STALLED, AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ERROR CODE P2103. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I OWN A 2009 COROLLA THAT HAS 108,000 MILES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL FIX, AND IT ALSO HAD THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ON. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE OBD-II CODE P0354 CAME UP IN THE DIAGNOSTICS AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW ENGINE WIRE HARNESS AT A COST OF $2,000 DOLLARS. I DID MY OWN RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS TOYOTA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN LINK THAT DESCRIBES EXACTLY THE PROBLEM AND ALSO INCLUDES MY CAR'S VIN. THEY EXPECTED THE CUSTOMER TO PLAY DETECTIVE AND FIND THEIR LATENT DESIGN FAULT! I HAVE OWNED FIVE OTHER CARS SINCE 1973, ONE FOR 23 YEARS, AND I NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS!
THE CAR STEERING WHEEL DRAGS TO THE LEFT WHILE DRIVING IN A HILLY CURVY ROAD. SOMETIMES THE STEERING WHEELS GETS STUCK WHILE DRIVING AND CANNOT MOVE OR OPERATE.

TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA AND I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FORT BEND TOYOTA TO DO THE SAFETY RECALL. HOWEVER, WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PERFORM THE RECALL CLAIMING THAT THEY DON'T DO RECALL ON SATURDAYS (EVEN I HAD AN APPOINTMENT). WHEN I CONFRONTED THE ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER, OMAR ADAM, WITH THE FACT THAT I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE AND I HAD AN APPOINTMENT, HE THEN TRIED TO GIVE OUT EXCUSES SUCH AS THEY DON'T CURRENTLY HAVE PARTS AND IT'S THE FAULT OF THEIR CALL CENTER (WHO MESSED UP THE APPOINTMENTS). I AM DEEPLY CONCERN AS IT'S AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING LIVES OF MYSELF AND MY LOVE ONES, BUT TOYOTA SHOWS NO CONCERN OF OUR SAFETY AT ALL. AS OF NOW, THEY STILL CLAIM THAT THEY ARE OUT OF THE PARTS AND DO NOT HAVE A DATE FOR ME TO DO THE SAFETY RECALL.

NO INCIDENTS OCCURRED YET, BUT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE TIMING OF THIS REMEDY BECAUSE TAKATA HAS FILED CHAPTER 11. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERATION.
