MY WIFE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND WHEN SHE HIT HER BRAKES THE CAR TOOK OFF JUST LIKE BEEN REPORTED WITH UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND WITNESS EVEN SAW HER BRAKE LIGHTS ON AND THE CAR WAS PUT IN PARK AND THE ENGINE WAS STILL REVVING VERY HIGH LIKE THE ACCELERATOR WAS STUCK WIDE OPEN. THIS CAR WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL AND THE PEDAL AND FLOOR MATS WERE REPLACED. IT APPEARS THERE STILL AN ISSUE WITH THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. NOW WE HAVE TO FIX THE DAMAGE TO OUR CAR AND THEN ONE SHE HIT. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED WHY CARS ARE STILL HAVING THIS ISSUE SOMEONE COULD OF DIED BECAUSE OF THIS FLAW IN THE CAR.
IT HAS BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED LETTER DAD 7/16/16 ABOUT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG RECALL. I HAVE CALLED 4 TIMES, TODAY BEING THE 4TH TIME AND STILL NO RESOLUTION IS DONE AND NOT EVEN AN ESTIMATED TIME WHEN THIS CAN BE RECTIFIED. VERY INCONVENIENT. THIS SHOULD NOT TAKE THIS LONG.

I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING IT FOR ABOUT 110K MILES TO THE WORK AND LEISURE, BUT IT SUDDENLY STARTED "JERKING" I TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE NO RESULTS CAME BACK AFTER CONNECTING IT TO A DIAGNOSIS COMPUTER. THE JERKING PROBLEM INCREASED, AND THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOIDS WERE REPLACED AS WELL AS AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE. PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. I'VE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH, AND SEEMS THE TRANSMISSION FOR THIS SPECIFIC CAR MODEL HAS BEEN FAILING. VERY EXPENSIVE FIX, AND I GUESS TO REPLACE TO ANOTHER "FAULTY" TRANSMISSION FOR THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE.

THE CAR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS SHIFT VERY HARD. THE MECHANIC REPLACED PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE. I WAS INFORMED THAT ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE IS BAD. THE SYMPTOMS ARE SIMILAR TO A VOLUNTEER SAFETY RECALL A0J FOR 2007-2008 COROLLA MODELS EQUIPPED WITH 1ZZ-FE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. THE ECM FOR CERTAIN 2005 THROUGH 2008 TOYOTA COROLLA AND COROLLA MATRIX MODELS EQUIPPED WITH THE 1ZZ-FE ENGINE AND TWO-WHEEL DRIVE MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT A CRACK MAY DEVELOP AT CERTAIN SOLDER POINTS OR ON VARISTORS ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD. IN MOST CASES, IF A CRACK OCCURS AT CERTAIN POINTS OR ON CERTAIN VARISTORS, THE ENGINE WARNING LAMP COULD BE ILLUMINATED*, HARSH SHIFTING COULD RESULT, OR THEENGINE MAY NOT START. IN LIMITED INSTANCES, IF CRACKING OCCURS ON PARTICULAR SOLDER POINTS OR VARISTORS, THE ENGINE COULD STOP WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN WHICH MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

2009 TOYOTA COROLLA, ENGINE WILL GO INTO A "MODE" WHERE IT REVS UP TO 2000 RPM ON ITS OWN. PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL WILL NOT DO ANYTHING, STILL STAYS ON 2000 RPM UNTIL ENGINE IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED, ONE SHOP SUGGESTED I REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY ($1400) DID AND STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO REPLACED THE GAS PEDAL ASSY. ($35.00 USED) STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. CAR MAY GO DAYS OR WEEKS BETWEEN EVENTS. WHEN IT HAPPENS ON A FREEWAY, IT IS VERY BAD, THE CAR SLOWS AND YOU CAN NOT ACCELERATE IN ANY WAY, YOU MUST PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE. VERY DANGEROUS! THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN TRAVELING AT 65MPH AND ALSO AT 5MPH COMING TO A STOP SIGN.

MY WIFE WAS TRAVELLING ON I-270 NEAR COLUMBUS, OH ON 6/19/2016 AFTERNOON (AROUND 2 PM) IN A TOYOTA COROLLA S 2009. SHE TOOK AN EXIT 22B AT AROUND 60-65 MPH AND THE VEHICLE AFTER GIVING BRIEF BEEPS SUFFERED FROM AN ABRUPT ENGINE STALL. SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE MOMENTARILY AS THE STEERING AND BREAK JAMMED. SHE REGAINED CONTROL AFTER GREAT EFFORT AND PULLED OVER THE VEHICLE AT THE ROADSIDE. THE CAR DID NOT START IMMEDIATELY BUT STARTED AFTER ABOUT 30 MINS AND RAN PROPERLY AFTER THAT BUT WITH SOME MINOR VIBRATION POST 60 MPH SPEED.

IT IS NOW 10-26-2016 AND THE RECALL PART HAS NOT BEEN IN STOCK. MY 93 YEAR OLD MOTHER'S LICENSE EXPIRED ON 10-16-2016 AND WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO SELL THE VEHICLE TO A PRIVATE PARTY, BUT ONCE THEY KNOW THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE WITH NO PENDING DATE FOR THE RECALL PART TO COME IN, THEY BACK OUT OF THE TRANSACTION.
