TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE BEGINNING OF JUNE SAYING THAT THEIR IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG AND TO NOT HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE NOTICE SAID THAT THEY WILL SEND MORE INFORMATION ONCE THE PART IS READY. FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO USE MY CAR LESS, BUT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN AS A FAMILY OF FOUR, WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE SOMEONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE. FINALLY HERE WE ARE IN JANUARY AND I CONTACTED A DEALER ASKING WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THE RECALL AND WHEN I CAN EXPECT IT TO BE FIXED. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER, THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TOYOTA IS GOING TO BE DOING ABOUT THIS RECALL. I ASKED WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO IN THE MEANTIME? I WAS TOLD I COULD RENT A CAR! REALLY?! AND WHO WOULD PAY FOR THAT? ME OF COURSE. I'M SO DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA THEY I HAVE HAD 6 RECALLS ON MY CAR, AND THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IT IN A TIMELY MANNER, BUT THIS ONE THAT CAN CAUSE AN AIRBAG TO BE DEADLY, THEY ARE TAKING THEIR TIME. HOW LONG AM I SUPPOSE TO WAIT? THIS IS TERRIBLE, AND SHOWS TOYOTA DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. WHEN WILL TOYOTA BE FORCED TO HANDLE THIS?
I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH 2 CHILDREN IN BACK, WHEN CAR HIT 60 MPH... IT ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN TO 90 MPH AND WOULD NOT STOP (HAD FOOT ALL WAY DOWN ON BREAK). AFTER PROB 30 SECONDS, THE ACCELERATOR WENT DOWN AND I PULLED OFF THE NEAREST EXIT. IF THERE WAS MORE TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY, THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT ME AND MY CHILDREN WOULD HAVE CRASHED AND BEEN KILLED.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN UNDER THE TAKATA RECALL SINCE JUNE OF 2016 AND I HAVE BEEN IN A RENTAL CAR PROVIDED BY TOYOTA SINCE SEPTEMBER 2016. IT'S BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE THE RECALL FOR MY CAR HAS BEEN ISSUED AND I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT A REMEDY FOR IT. I'M HOPING TO HEAR SOMETHING ON WHETHER OR NOT IT'S GOING TO BE FIXED ANYTIME SOON SINCE I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON MY CAR AND WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT SAFELY. SPRING WHICH HOLDS THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR IN OPEN AND FOLD POSITION BECAME DISLODGED INSIDE MIRROR. ENTIRE MIRROR KEPT SWAYING IN TRAFFIC 15 MPH AND ABOVE. SERIOUS VISIBILITY CONCERN WITH ABSENT OF DRIVER'S MIRROR. WOULD NOT PASS YEARLY SAFETY CHECK.

THE TOYOTA COROLLA IS OUR FAMILY CAR, AND THE OTHER VEHICLE WE HAVE IS MY HUSBAND'S WORK TRUCK THAT IS FULL OF EQUIPMENT. I'M INVOLVED IN A WORK 70-80 HOURS A MONTH THAT REQUIRES ME TO OCCASIONALLY TRANSPORT 1 TO 4 OTHER PASSENGERS. IT WAS STATED IN THE RECALL NOTICE THAT OTHER TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE, BUT THERE WERE NO DETAILS ABOUT HOW TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS. I WOULD LIKE TO BE CONTACTED ABOUT MY OPTIONS IN THIS AREA.

TAKATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED A PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL (REPORT DATE5/23/16) IN MID JULY, 2016 AD TOOK IT TO OUR TOYOTA DEALER JULY 25, 2016 FOR REPAIR. WE WERE TOLD THAT SINCE WE WERE IN ZONE A AND THAT OUR CARD HAD BEEN IN FLORIDA FOR 4 MONTHS OF EVERY YEAR, AND ALSO ITS AGE, WE WERE A TOP PRIORITY FOR THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. MORE THAT THREE MONTHS HAVE PASSED. WE FOLLOWED UP WITH THE DEALER AND WERE ADVISED THAT TOYOTA HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE REPLACEMENTS PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR OUR CAR . WE ARE AWARE THAT TOYOTAS AND OTHER AUTO MAKES ARE BEING REPAIRED AND SEEK ASSISTANCE IN GETTING OURS REPAIRED.
THERE IS NO RESOLUTION - NOW TAKATA IS CLOSING DOWN FACTORY - WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE CONSUMER?
TAKATA RECALL - IT HAS BEEN OVER 5 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL. MY HONDA CIVIC (YR 2010) HAS ALREADY HAD THE AIR BAG REPLACED LAST MONTH. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE MY TOYOTA WITH NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. WHEN WE GO OUT WITH ANOTHER COUPLE, WE HAVE TO ALWAYS TAKE THEIR CAR. I CALL THE TOYOTA DEALER AND THEIR CORPORATION OFFICES AND THEY OFFER NO INFORMATION AT ALL - UNLESS YOU CONSIDER THEM SAYING THEY DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER IT WILL TAKE AS INFORMATION. THIS IS SO INFURIATING!!

TAKATA RECALL (16V-340) WAS ISSUED ON MAY 23, 2016, BUT TOYOTA DEALERS STILL DO NOT HAVE PARTS TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE, MORE THAN SIX MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL'S RELEASE. I LIVE IN SOUTH TEXAS (ZONE A) WHICH IS PART OF THE REGION THAT IS MOST AT RISK FOR THIS FAILURE.

TAKATA RECALL. I CALLED MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP, HANSEL TOYOTA, AND ASKED WHEN THE RECALLED PART MIGHT BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD POSSIBLY DECEMBER OR SPRING OF 2017 AND THEY WERE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. I CALLED AGAIN TODAY AND WAS TOLD THE SUPERVISOR WAS TELLING THE AGENT I WAS SPEAKING WITH THAT IT MIGHT BE FIXED BY SPRING OR SUMMER OF 2017. I THEN CALLED TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT GIVE A DATE UNTIL THE PARTS ARE READY. I EXPRESSED MY FRUSTRATION AT NOT BEING ABLE TO RIDE WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER FOR THE LAST 6-7 MONTHS. THE AGENT TOLD ME HE WAS IN THE SAME POSITION I WAS. IF THIS DOES NOT GET FIXED UNTIL SUMME OF 2017, I WILL HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FOR OVER ONE YEAR. THIS ALSO CONCERNS ME AS TO WHY THE RECALL ONLY APPLIES TO THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN A HUGE WORRY THAT THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY AND INJURE MY VEHICLES OCCUPANTS, BUT THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I OWN.
