WHEN USING EITHER THE AIR RE-CIRCULATION BUTTON OR THE AIR CONDITIONING I SOMETIMES GET A SICKENING SMELL LIKE ANTI-FREEZE. I BROUGHT THE VECHILE IN TO THE DEALER IN SEPTEMBER AND THEY SAID THEY SAW NO LOOSE HOSE OR OBVIOUS LEAK. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT IN NATURE AND WHEN I HAD THE CAR THERE IT WAS NOT DOING IT. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT REMOVE THE DASH UNLESS THEY COULD SMELL THE ODOR. I HAD A SURGERY FOR LUNG CANCER LAST YEAR AND I BELIEVE THIS ODOR TO BE HARMFUL TO BE BREATHING.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE SHIFTED IN REVERSE IT WOULD MOVE FORWARD AND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE IT WOULD MOVE IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A RECALL REPAIR AND THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER, THE GEARS SLIPPED INTO REVERSE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE HAD BECOME VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED THAT A CRASH MAY OCCUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,026.
STEERING ERRATIC ON HIGHWAY SPEEDS. CAR IS UNSTABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, STEERING TOO LOOSE. *TR
EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION EVEN AFTER RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE SPEED COULD BE CONTROLLED BY BREAKING AND NORMAL DRIVING RESUMED. I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RECALL AT THAT TIME AND DID NOT THINK COULD BE A SERIOUS DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE.*CW

I BOUGHT A TOYOTA COROLLA MARCH 2009 ,ON ABOUT SEPT. 1, 2009 I WAS DRIVING AROUND PALOS VERDES I SAW DONALD TRUPM'S GOLF COURSE.SO I PULLED IN AND DROVE THROUGH THE DROP OFF AREA AND ASK THE GUY THAT WAS OUT THERE FOR A FLYER AND HE GAVE ME ONE AND THEM I WENT TO THE STOP SIGN TO LEAVE. I WAS PULLING OUT AND I SAW A SMALL TRUCK COMING SO I JUMPED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO GET AHEAD OF TRUCK AND WHEN I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR DIDN'T SLOW DOWN.I THEN HAD TO PUSH ON MY BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD WHILE PULLING ON THE STREWING WHELELREALLY HARD TO HELP ME PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL REAL HARD.THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP RUNNING FAST IT GOT STUCK IN PASSING GEAR MOLD AND WON'T STOP FROM REALLY RACING THE ENGINE.! WAS REAL LUCKY THERE WAS A PLACE TO PULL OF THE ROAD,SO I PULLED INTO A SMALL PARKING AREA AND PUT THE CAR INTO PARK,I TURNED THE KEY OFF AND THEM I STARED THE CAR AGAIN AND IT WAS STILL RACING THE ENGINE REALLY REALLY FAST. SO I TURNED THE KEY OFF AGAIN AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.I DIDN'T WANT TO DRIVE DOWN THE HILLS IN PALOS VERDES BECAUSE THAT WAS REALLY SCARY AND I THINK THAT IF I WASN'T USE TO BEING AROUND CAR'S WITH MY X-HUSBAND A LOT,LIKE PULLING CAR'S WITH A ROPE TO START THEM AND THEN SLAMMING ON THE BRAKE WHEN IT STARTED TO KEEP FROM RUNNING INTO THE CAR THAT WAS TOWING ME..SOME OTHER PEOPLE COULD PANIC AND HAVE A REALLY BAD ACCIDENT. SO ANY WAY I HAD A FRIEND WITH ME AND I OPENED THE HOOD AND ASK HER TO GET INTO THE DRIVERS SIT TO PUMP ON THE GAS PEDDLE I TRIED TO SEE WERE THE LINKAGE WAS TO SEE IF I COULD DO SOMETHING TO STOP THE MOTOR FROM RACING.I COULD NOT SEE WHERE THE LINKAGE WAS AND I DIDN'T WANT TAKE THE COVER OF THE MOTOR BECAUSE I HAVEN'T DONE THAT ON NEWER CAR'S.SO IGOT BACK INTO THE DRIVERS SEAT AND GOT MY PURSE OUT TO CALL THE AUTOMOBILE CLUB BUT BEFORE I DID THAT I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY STARTING THE CAR ONE MORE TIME AND IT WAS O.K. MY CAR ' GAS PEDAL DID NOT GET STUCK ON THE FLOOR MAT .TOYOTA IS MAKING UP A CHEAT EXCUSE FOR THE REAL PROBLEM THE GAS PEDAL IN MY CAR COMES FROM WAY UP UNDER THE DASH, HIGH ON THE FIRE WALL PEDAL ARM COMES DOWN TO ABOVE THE FLOOR MATS . AS AN OWNER OF A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA, I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A RECALL FOR BRAKE FAILURE BY TOYOTA THAT IS LIMITED TO CERTAIN STATES BASED ON WINTER TEMPERATURES. BRAKES MAY FAIL AT VERY LOW TEMPERATURES. I LIVE IN MARYLAND, AND MARYLAND IS NOT ONE OF THE STATES LISTED IN THE RECALL. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TOYOTA ARRIVED AT WHICH STATES ARE COLD AND WHICH ARE NOT. BUT I HAVE TWO SERIOUS OBJECTIONS TO THE STATE RESTRICTION. 1. WHILE SOME WINTERS ARE MILD IN MARYLAND, OTHERS ARE NOT. FOR INSTANCE, LAST WINTER WAS VERY COLD. I HAVE THE HEATING BILLS TO PROVE IT. 2. BUT BY FAR, MY MOST SERIOUS OBJECTION SHOULD BE OBVIOUS TO ANYONE. THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF A CAR IS TO TRAVEL. EVEN IF YOU LIVE IN FLORIDA AND OWN ONE OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES, DOES THIS MEAN YOU CAN NOT DRIVE TO MINNESOTA TO SPEND SEVERAL WEEKS TO VISIT FAMILY OVER THE HOLIDAYS? DOES THIS MEAN I CAN'T DRIVE TO UPSTATE NEW YORK THIS WINTER FOR A VACATION AS I HAVE PLANNED? A CAR IS NOT A HOUSE. IT IS VERY RARE THAT A HOUSE MOVES FROM STATE TO STATE WHILE IT IS VERY VERY COMMON THAT CARS DO. LOOKING AT THE VARIOUS STATE TAGS ON THE INTERSTATE 95 WILL CONFIRM THIS. THEREFORE, I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE STATE LIMITATION ON THIS RECALL - PARTICULARLY BECAUSE IT INVOLVES SOMETHING AS SERIOUS AS POSSIBLE BRAKE FAILURE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA MATRIX. RECALL NUMBER 09V338000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM) EXCLUDES OTHER COLD WEATHER STATES SUCH AS PENNSYLVANIA AND OHIO. CONSEQUENTLY BRAKE FAILURE COULD OCCUR IN VEHICLES WHO OPERATE IN SUCH COLD CONDITIONS. THESE CONSUMERS WOULD BE INELIGIBLE FOR A FREE REMEDY. THERE WERE NO FAILURES TO DATE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE RPMS RAPIDLY INCREASED AND HER FOOT WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR OR BRAKE PEDAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER SHE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE DEALER STATED THAT WHENEVER THE ENGINE WAS COLD THE RPMS INCREASE. SINCE THE GAS PEDAL WAS REPLACED THE FAILURE HAS NOT RECURRED. THE STEERING HAS BECOME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHILE MAKING LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
I PURCHASED A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA IN JUNE OF 2008. UP UNTIL APPROXIMATELY THE FALL OF 2009, IT APPEARED TO BE DRIVING SATISFACTORILY. HOWEVER, AFTER THAT TIME, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE CAR "DRIFTS" ALMOST EACH AND EVERYTIME THIS HAPPENS, I OPEN MY WINDOW TO SEE IF IT IS WINDY, BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS BEING BLOWN BY THE WIND. MY SON SOMETIMES DRIVES MY CAR AND I ASKED HIM IF HE EXPERIENCED THIS, AND HE SAID "YES", AND IT ALWAYS ATTRIBUTES IT TO THE WIND, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT ALWAYS WINDY. IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS A SLIGHT LACK OF CONTROL. NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT IS VERY UNNERVING. I WOULD SAY THAT IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS I NOTICE THIS PROBLEM 3 TIMES A WEEK. WHEN GOOGLING ABOUT THE CURRENT TOYOTA PROBLEMS, I CAME ACROSS A WRITE UP REGARDING "TOYOTA STEERING PROBLEMS". THEN, I KNEW I WASN'T JUST IMAGINING WHAT I HAD EXPERIENCED. THE DRIVERS SIDE "SINKING SEAT" PROBLEM STARTED WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2009. AT THAT TIME, THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER WAS COUGHLIN TOYOTA IN NEWARK OHIO 43055. COUGHLIN TOLD ME THEY HAD NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AND NEVER HEARD OF IT BEFORE. THE DRIVERS SEAT CAN BE MANUALLY ADJUSTED UP OR DOWN BY HAND. THERE ARE 20+ POSITIONS UP OR DOWN. SHORT PEOPLE NEED THE SEAT POSITION TO BE ALL THE WAY UP IN ORDER TO SEE OVER THE DASH BOARD AND HOOD FOR SAFE VISIBILITY AND VISION WHEN DRIVING. TALL PEOPLE WOULD WANT THE SEAT POSITION TO BE ALL THE WAY DOWN. I AM SHORT, 5' 6" TALL. I NEED THE SEAT TO BE ALL THE WAY UP FOR SAFE VISION OVER THE DASH BOARD AND HOOD. THE "SINKING SEAT" PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE SEAT GRADUALLY GOES DOWN SEVERAL POSITIONS ON IT'S OWN. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT BY TOYOTA, NOT A USER CAUSED CONDITION. THIS PROBLEM COVERS SEVERAL YEARS OF TOYOTA PRODUCTION. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY OTHERS ON GOOGLE. I HAVE LOCAL FRIENDS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR COROLLAS. TODAY, 9-5-2013, I AGAIN REPORTED THIS PROBLEM BY ON LINE EMAIL TO TOYOTA CORPORATE FOR A SOLUTION. HERE IS AN EXACT COPY OF MY REPORT TO TOYOTA: "MY 2009 COROLLA HAS THE WIDE SPREAD AND CHRONIC SAFETY PROBLEM OF "SINKING SEAT SYNDROME" WITH THE DRIVER'S SEAT. BOUGHT A NEW 2009 COROLLA S IN LATE AUGUST, 2009. THE CAR HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH STEERING SINCE NEW. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE CAR IS CONSTANTLY "FLOATING" FROM LANE TO LANE BECAUSE THE NEW DRIVE BY WIRE ELECTRIC MOTOR TELLS THE CAR TO BE IN A CONSTANT "CORRECTION" MODE, THERE IS NO "CENTER" DRIVING POSITION. IT'S ALWAYS EITHER "CORRECT LEFT, OR CORRECT RIGHT". THIS MAKES THE DRIVER HAVE TO CONSTANTLY "RE-CORRECT', AND RESULTS IN A CONSTANT "ZIG-ZAG" PATTERN AT 65MPH! THAT'S DRIVING LIKE A DRUNK DRIVES. THE CAR DRIVES LIKE IT'S IN A WIND STORM, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO WIND, AND YOU CAN'T PREDICT WHEN THE NEXT "GUST" WILL DRIFT YOU INTO THE NEXT LANE. GREATLY DISAPPOINTED THAT TOYOTA WOULD CONTINUE TO ALLOW THESE CARS ON THE ROAD WITHOUT A FIX. WAS TOLD BY THE TOYOTA SERVICE MANAGER THAT MY CAR "DRIVES AS DESIGNED". I KNOW THAT, IT'S A BAD DESIGN. SAW WHERE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON THIS SITE, WE'RE NOT COMPLAINING JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT, WE'RE HONESTLY CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY. I ALSO OWN THREE OTHER OLDER TOYOTA'S, A CAMRY, A CRESSIDA, AND A TERCEL WITH CLOSE TO 300K MILES. ALL OF THEM DRIVE BETTER THAN THIS NEW COROLLA. SHAME ON TOYOTA FOR ALLOWING THIS TO REMAIN A PROBLEM. WAS PLANNING ON GIVING THIS CAR TO MY DAUGHTER AT COLLEGE GRADUATION. NOW I DON'T WANT HER TO DRIVE IT UNLESS IT'S FIXED. I ALSO KNOW OF TWO OTHER BUYERS OF 2009 TOYOTA COROLLAS, BOTH S MODELS, THAT HAVE THE SAME STEERING ISSUES. COMPLAINTS UNANSWERED BY TOYOTA. MY COROLLA ONLY HAS 5200 MILES SINCE LAST AUGUST, IT MOSTLY SAT FOR THE FIRST FEW MONTHS, AS I HATED TO HAVE TO DRIVE IT. SAD TO HAVE A NEW CAR AND HAVE TO JUST "ENDURE" DRIVING IT. TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC. IS HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE MODEL YEAR 2008-2009 SCION XD AND 2009-2010 COROLLA, COROLLA MATRIX, AND PONTIAC VIBE VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 1.8L ENGINE AND ORIGINALLY SOLD IN OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN CERTAIN STATES. MY CONCERN IS FOR THOSE LIKE MYSELF WHO PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND OR HAS THE VEHICLE REGISTERED IN A STATE THAT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. WHAT IF I DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A STATE LISTED IN THE RECALL. ALSO, UNDER HARSH CONDITIONS CERTAIN PARTS OF MY STATE CAN HAVE THESE 'LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURES'. ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V338000, THE CONSEQUENCE OF THIS DEFECT IS THAT 'THIS COULD LEAD TO AN INCREASE IN VEHICLE STOPPING DISTANCE AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR'. A SUMMARY OF THE DEFECT IS 'WHEN DRIVING UNDER CERTAIN UNIQUE CONDITIONS IN EXTREMELY LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURES, THE INTAKE MANIFOLD SUCTION PORT FOR THE BRAKE VACUUM CAN BECOME LOCKED DUE TO THE FREEZING OF CONDENSATION RESULTING FROM POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION'. THE REMEDY IS 'DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEWLY DESIGNED INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR WHICH WILL RELOCATE THE BRAKE SYSTEM VACUUM PORT. IN SUMMARY, IT WOULD SEEM LOGICAL TO ME THAT TOYOTA WOULD FIX THIS ISSUE FOR ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THE RECALL, NOT JUST BASED UPON LOCATION OF PURCHASE AND OR REGISTRATION. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COST SAVINGS MEASURE VERSUS ACTUALLY BEING CONCERNED ABOUT ITS CUSTOMER'S SAFETY. WHAT CORRECTIVE ACTIONS CAN BE TAKEN? *TR
STEERING PROBLEM WITH MY NEW TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 6,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, THE CAR GOES OFF TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT. YOU MUST CONSTANTLY KEEP ADJUSTING THE STEERING TO KEEP THE CAR IN THE LANE. THIS ALSO HAPPENS IN A CURVE. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND AGGRAVATING. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE TOYOTA DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM. THE TECHNICIAN RODE WITH ME AND I SHOWED HIM HOW THE CAR GOES OFF COURSE. THE TECHNICIAN DROVE THE CAR AND LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CAR WENT OFF COURSE. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING, BUT THEY WOULD CHECK THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT. (THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM.) I DON'T KNOW HOW HE COULD SAY THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM WHEN THE CAR WANTED TO GO OFF THE ROAD. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER A NUMBER OF TIMES. THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. I ASKED THEM TO CHECK AND OR REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING UNIT. (EPS) THEY WOULD NOT EVEN CHECK IT. I SENT EMAIL AND TALKED TO A REPRESENTATIVE AT TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS. I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. THEY WILL NOT EVEN ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS... IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING (EPS) THAT LETS THE CAR GO OFF COURSE, THIS COULD KEEP GETTING WORSE AND I WOULD LOOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR. OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEMS ON 2009 COROLLA MADE FIRST OIL CHANGE AT 3111 MILES NOW 5031 MILES OIL IS BARELY SHOWING 2000 MILES IN 7 MONTHS WHERE IS THE OIL I FEEL TOYOTA HAS FUDGED BY USING 0W-20 TO 5W-20 TO PASS CAFE STANDARDS FOR FUEL MILEAGE OR THEY HAVE RING PROBLEMS A NEW CAR SHOULD NOT LOSE THIS MUCH OIL SOMETHING IS WRONG AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE CAR DAMAGED BY THERE ENGINEERING FAILURE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA. SHE ORDERED A 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA XLE AND IT ARRIVED IN AUGUST 2008. SHE RETURNED TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS SINCE THE VEHICLE BEGAN PULLING TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STAY CENTERED IN ITS LANE AT HIGHER SPEEDS RANGING FROM 50 TO 65 MPH. SHE HAS TO GRIP THE STEERING WHEEL WITH BOTH HANDS IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. THE FAILURE INTERMITTENTLY VEERS IN EITHER DIRECTION AND REQUIRED NEARLY CONSTANT OVER CORRECTIONS. SHE OWNED ANOTHER TOYOTA FOR TWELVE YEARS AND HAS NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS KIND OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE FEELS UNSAFE WHILE DRIVING. SHE WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS IT IS DESIGNED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILALE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 100.

THE INSURANCE COMPANY DESTROYED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED; HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 10,000.
MY 2009 COROLLA SEEMS TO HAVE UNSAFE STEERING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT TAKES A LOT OF CORRECTING AND FEELS LIKE I HAVE ALIGNMENT ISSUES IN THE FRONT OR SOMETHING OUT OF ALIGNMENT IN THE REAR. IT IS LIKE THE STEERING IS TO SENSITIVE AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FEEDBACK AS TO WHAT THE CAR IS DOING. *TR
WE HAVE TAKEN IN OUR COROLLA (PURCHASED IN JANUARY 09) TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING (EPS) PROBLEM. THE CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAYS. IT REFUSED TO KEEP A STRAIGHT LINE AND WE CONSTANTLY HAVE TO OVER CORRECT TO KEEP A STRAIGHT LINE ON A FLAT ROAD (DRIVING ON ICE OR IN HIGH WINDS COMES TO MIND). WE HAVE NOTICED THAT EVEN AT SLOW SPEEDS IN PARKING LOTS THAT IF THE WHEELS ARE TURNED AND THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES BACK TO CENTER THE WHEELS WILL NOT STRAIGHTEN UP AND YOU HAVE THE TURN THE WHEEL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECT TO CORRECT THE WHEELS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT AND THEY REPLACE THE STEERING RACK. THE ISSUE HAS NOT GONE AWAY AND THEY FOUND THAT TESTING THREE OTHER COROLLAS ON THE LOT ALL HAVE THE SAME EPS PROBLEM AND THEY ARE STUMPED. THEY HAVE FILED A TECH CASE WITH TOYOTA ABOUT THE EPS ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO OPENED A COMPLAINT TICKET WITH TOYOTA TMS IN CALIFORNIA 1-800-331-4331. THEY HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH US AND A TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE IS GOING TO INSPECT THE CAR NEXT WEEK. IF THEY ARE UNABLE/UNWILLING TO GIVE US A RESOLUTION WE ARE GOING TO CONTACT A NC LEMON LAW LAWYER. WE JUST WANT THE CAR TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY AND FREE IT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. AS SOON AS I STARTED DRIVING MY CAR UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, I NOTICED IT MOVED FORWARD AS IF BEING BUMPED FROM BEHIND AS I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR. ALSO, IF I REMOVED MY FOOT QUICKLY FROM THE PEDAL AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS BEFORE PLACING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR WOULD MAKE JERKY MOTIONS AND THE TACHOMETER (RPM) WOULD JUMP WILDLY. I DIDN'T KNOW IF THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE ACCELERATOR OR IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I BROUGHT IT TO THE TWICE FOR THE PROBLEM BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING SHOWING UP ON THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER CHECK THE FIRST TIME. THE SERVICE TECH DID HAVE TO RE-SET THE ORIGINAL SETTING ON SOMETHING AND HE TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK IF THAT DIDN'T FIX IT. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED SO I BROUGHT IT BACK THE SECOND TIME AND THE TECH RODE WITH ME AND HE ALSO FELT WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING. HE TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT AWAY BUT I COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT IT WAS THE CAR GETTING USED TO A NEW DRIVER AS HE SAID IT WAS BECAUSE IT IS STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM AND I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR FOR 1,225. *TR
