MY 2009 TOYOTA COROLLA HAS HAD AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL CONSUMPTION DUE TO TOYOTA PUTTING IN DEFECTED PISTON AND PISTON RINGS. THIS DEFECT CAN CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE OR ENGINE FAILURE RESULTING IN HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE MONTHS/YEARS AGO ABOUT THE DEATH HAZARD WITH THESE AIRBAGS AND NOW I AM SEEING ALL OVER THE NEWS THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED A LONG TIME AGO AND IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT I GET IT FIXED ASAP, BUT TOYOTA SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR IT YET. UNACCEPTABLE!
I WAS DRIVING WITH 30 MILE/HOUR ON THE ANDERSON MILL ROAD, AUSTIN, TEXAS. ALL OF SUDDEN, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY HEAVY, JUST LIKE STEERING WAS LOCKED. IT'S SO DIFFICULT TO CHANGE DIRECTION. IN THIS SITUATION, I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR WHEN I TRIED TO FIND PLACE TO PARK. THIS SITUATION MAY LAST SEVERAL MINUTES, AND BECOME NORMAL. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE TOYOTA CENTER, THE TECHNICIAN TOOK FEW HOURS TO CHECK, BUT NOTHING THEY FOUND. RIGHT NOW, I AM SO AFRAID OF DRIVING.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH NOT TO HAVE AN ACTUAL "INCIDENT", BUT I AM STILL GOING TO FILE THE COMPLAINT ON THE LENGTH OF TIME THIS RECALL ON THE AIRBAG IS TAKING TO RESOLVE. I CANNOT HAVE A PASSENGER DUE TO THIS AND IT IS EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND NEED MY VEHICLE TO BE IN TOP SHAPE FOR ME AND MY CHILD. NO REMEDY FOR 10 MONTHS IS RIDICULOUS.

(DEFECT WATERPUMP) MY WATERPUMP WENT HAD A HAIRLINE CRACK.. THE MACANIC SAYS THE OLD WATERPUMP MOLDING WAS OFF AND WAS TOO THIN AROUND WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE ENGINE.
TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL NO. 16V-340 & 17V-006. WHY DOES TOYOTA ISSUE AN INTERIM RECALL NOTICE WITH NO REMEDY AVAILABLE? I HAVE A 5 PASSENGER CAR THAT IS NOW A 4 PASSENGER CAR (REALLY A 2 PASSENGER CAR NOW B/C THE BACK SEAT IS SO SMALL) AND I CANNOT CARRY MY WHOLE FAMILY IN THE CAR. THIS CAR NO LONGER MEETS MY REQUIREMENTS BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL AND THE INABILITY TO USE THE FRONT SEAT. WHY CAN'T TOYOTA EXPEDITE THE FIX AND/OR DISABLE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IN THE MEANTIME? ALSO, IF MY PASSENGER AIRBAG IS MADE BY TAKATA AND IS AFFECTED BY THE RECALL, WHO IS TO SAY THAT MY DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG IS ANY SAFER? IS THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG MADE BY TAKATA AS WELL? HAS ANY INVESTIGATION BEEN DONE INTO THE DRIVERS'S SIDE AIRBAG TO CLEAR IT FOR USE? WHAT ABOUT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS? WHY WOULD ONE SIDE BE SAFE TO USE AND THE OTHER NOT BE? CAN I SAFETY OPERATE MY VEHICLE AND DEPEND ON MY AIRBAG TO SAVE ME IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH AND NOT KILL ME INSTEAD? I'M NOT CONVINCED. THERE ARE TOO MANY QUESTIONS AND VIRTUALLY NO ANSWERS IN THE RECALL NOTICE. I EXPECT A PROMPT, FULL, AND COMPLETE REMEDY OF THIS PROBLEM IN A TIMELY MANNER., OR TOYOTA IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO BUY BACK, REPLACE MY VEHICLE, OR OFFER ME A RENTAL FOR THE DURATION OF THIS RECALL. TAKATA RECALL: AS THE OWNER OF A VEHICLE AFFECTED BY THIS CURRENT AND SERIOUS RECALL, I HAVE TO DESCRIBE HOW DISAPPOINTING IT HAS BEEN TO BARELY HEAR ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA TO KEEP OWNERS INFORMED. I'VE PROBABLY RECEIVED ONLY 2, AT MOST 3, LETTERS OF INFO IN THE LAST ALMOST 10 MONTHS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD THAT I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR FOR A SAFETY RECALL. SAFETY RECALL AS IN IT COULD ENDANGER THE LIFE OF ANY PASSENGER WITH ME!!!!!!!!!
TODAY IS OCTOBER 23, 2017. I RECEIVED NOTICE OF A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR MONTHS AGO, AND IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED THE TOYOTA DEALER, BUT AM STILL WAITING FOR REPAIRS. I HAVE JUST TODAY RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE TK HOLDINGS BANKRUPTCY CASE, WITH A DEADLINE FOR FILING CLAIMS OF DECEMBER 27, 2017. I CAN DRIVE MY CAR, BUT I CANNOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I KNOW THERE IS A PRIORITY SYSTEM FOR REPAIRS. HOW DOES THE BANKRUPTCY FILING AFFECT THE REPAIR PRIORITY?

UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T HAVE MY VIN HANDY FOR THIS EMAIL. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER RECALL FOR THE TAKATA AIR BAG. CURRENTLY IT IS AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. TOYOTA CORP. HAS INFORMED ME THAT REPAIR MAY NOT BE COMPLETE UNTIL POSSIBLY DECEMBER 2017. THEY HAVE PROVIDED ME A LOANER. UNFORTUNATELY, THOUGH I AM HESITANT TO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE'S VEHICLE FOR 9 MONTHS AND HAVING BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. IN ADDITION MY CAR WILL BE AT THE DEALERSHIP LAYING IDLE FOR 9 MONTHS WHICH IS NOT GOOD FOR THE CAR. I HAVE MADE CONTACT AGAIN WITH TOYOTA CORP. TO BUY THE CAR BACK, BUT THEY ARE REFUSING. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT I AM UNDER THE UNDERSTANDING THAT REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE HAVE TO BE MADE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME, AND 9 MONTHS IS NOT REASONABLE. IS THERE ANY RECOMMENDATION YOU MAY HAVE FOR ME MOVING FORWARD OR IS THERE ANY RECOURSE OF ACTION I MAY HAVE.

TAKATA RECALL - THE MANUFACTURER HAS SENT US A LETTER ASKING US TO NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, BUT HAS NOT PROVIDED A FIX. THIS SEVERELY REDUCES THE UTILITY OF MY VEHICLE - REDUCING ITS PASSENGER CAPACITY BY 25%. IN ADDITION, THIS CREATES AN UNREASONABLE EXPECTATION THAT I AM UNABLE TO FULFILL DUE TO THE NECESSITIES OF EVERYDAY LIFE. I FEEL THAT THE DEALER AND/OR TOYOTA HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME AND REQUEST RESTITUTION FOR THE LOST UTILITY AND INCONVENIENCE.

TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE TAKATA RECALL IN MARCH, AT THE LATEST, AND FOLLOWED THEIR RECOMMENDATION OF NOT ALLOWING SOMEONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. HOWEVER, WITH FIVE FAMILY MEMBERS, THIS IS NOT A VIABLE SOLUTION FOR MY FAMILY. WE CANNOT FIT ALL OF US, LET ALONE GUESTS, IN THE CAR AND STILL AVOID THE RECALLED AIR BAG. TOYOTA HAS BEEN GOOD ABOUT ISSUING RECALLS AND PROVIDING REMEDIES WITHIN A MONTH OF THE RECALL, BUT THIS HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN JANUARY, I RECEIVED NOTICE IN MARCH, AND IT IS NOW MID-JULY, WITH NO REMEDY FORTHCOMING. TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED LETTER IN 2016 ABOUT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEFECT. NOV '16 TOLD BY LOCAL DEALER THEY WOULD PUT ME ON LIST FOR RENTAL AND PARTS. NO RESPONSE TO MULTIPLE CONTACTS SINCE THEN. NO ETA FOR PARTS AND REMEDIATION OF DEFECT. NO ETA ON HELP WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE.

THIS IS PRETTY MUCH IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME WITH MY FAMILY MEMBERS. I CALLED MY CLOSEST TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE GIVEN A CALL BACK ON THE STATUS ON THE PART THAT I WOULD NEED. WELL I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING IN 3 WEEKS AND EVERY TIME I HAVE CALLED AGAIN I GET THE RUN AROUND. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I CANNOT HAVE A CAR THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE MY FAMILY IN. I EXPECT A RESOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY.

AFTER BEING TOLD FALSELY BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT MY VIN# WOULD BE UP WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH, I HAVE BEEN LEFT TO DRIVE MY CAR "AS IS" FOR THE LAST 6+ MONTHS WAITING FOR THEIR CALL. UNACCEPTABLE AS I TAKE CAR OF MY CAR AND DO NOT WANT IT OUT IN THE ELEMENTS. I HAVE TRIED TO JOIN THE CLASS ACTION AND CANNOT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T YET REPAIR THE CAR. WE HAVE GONE ALL THIS TIME WITHOUT ANYONE BEING ABLE TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IS THERE A WAY TO DISCONNECT THE AIRBAG? THIS WOULD SEEM TO BE AN UNACCEPTABLE SOLUTION AS IT MAKES THE CAR LESS SAFE.
