TAKATA RECALL IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY NO REASONABLE TIME FRAME FOR THE TAKATA RECALL TO BE REMEDIED. IT IS UNREASONABLE TO EXPECT NO PERSON TO OCCUPY THE PASSENGER SEAT IN A 4 PERSON VEHICLE. THIS REQUIRES A FAMILY OF 4 TO EITHER DRIVE 2 CARS AND WASTE MONEY ON GAS OR PUT THEMSELVES AT RISK BY SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT DESPITE THE DANGER. I AM TOLD THAT A SOLUTION IS STILL APPROXIMATELY 9 MONTHS AWAY. I HAVE ASKED TOYOTA TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE SEAT UNTIL THE REMEDY IS AVAILABLE AND THEY HAVE REFUSED FOR LIABILITY REASONS. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN WE DIDN'T HAVE AIRBAGS AND JUST USED SEAT BELTS. WHY CAN'T WE TREAT THIS AS SUCH. IT IS NOT REASONABLE TO EXPECT FAMILIES TO RESTRAIN FROM USING 1/4 OF THEIR CAR FOR POTENTIALLY AN ENTIRE YEAR. THERE'S NOT THE OPTION TO SELL THE CAR BECAUSE FAIR MARKET VALUE WILL NOT BE OBTAINED WITH SUCH A RECALL. IN SHORT, I WANT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLED UNTIL A REMEDY CAN BE PROVIDED. THIS IS THE LEAST TOYOTA CAN DO.

TAKATA RECALL. THE RECALL LETTER STATES "DO NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT." MY HUSBAND AND I ARE RETIRED WITH ONLY ONE CAR--THE 2009 COROLLA, WHICH IS UNDER A RECALL WITH THE DIRE WARNING TO NOT HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE OKAY TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AS LONG AS THE WEATHER WAS NOT HOT. I THEN CALLED THE TOYOTA MAIN CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT AND WAS TOLD TO NOT SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT OR EVERYONE IN THE CAR COULD BE INJURED OR KILLED. THERE IS NO ESTIMATE FOR WHEN A REPAIR WILL BE DONE AND WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE IS NO SOLUTION FOR THE REPAIR. SO WE WILL BE FORCED TO USE THE DIFFICULT TO ENTER BACK SEAT, NOT HAVE ANYONE ELSE IN THE CAR WITH US, AND GENERALLY LIMIT OUR CAR USAGE UNTIL THE REPAIR IS MADE. EVEN IF WE OPTED TO SELL THE CAR AND BUY ANOTHER, THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECALL IMPAIRS THE PRICE WE WOULD RECEIVE FOR THE COROLLA. THIS IS TOTALLY AN UNFAIR SITUATION WHICH WE DID NOT CAUSE THROUGH ANY NEGLIGENCE OF OUR OWN.

TAKATA RECALL - I AM SUBMITTING THIS TO COMPLAIN ABOUT TOYOTA'S LACK OF URGENCY TO REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IN MY CAR. I RECEIVED THE NOTICE FROM THEM ABOUT THE RECALL IN FEBRUARY OF 2017 AND UP UNTIL NOW (ALMOST 4 MONTHS LATER) I NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION FROM TOYOTA THAT THEY WILL BE FIXING THE PROBLEM. I JUST CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO BE FIXED UNTIL DECEMBER 2017. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNEXCEPTIONABLE, INEXCUSABLE. I AM NOW FORCED TO DRIVE AROUND WITH A LITERAL TICKING TIME BOMB THAT COULD GO OFF AT ANY TIME INJURING OR KILLING MYSELF AND/OR ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY BE IN MY CAR. TOYOTA'S TIMEFRAME FOR REPAIR SHOWS THEIR LACK OF CONCERN TOWARDS THEIR CONSUMERS. ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE TO GET TOYOTA TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH MY CAR WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS ISSUED AN AIR BAG RECALL QUITE SOME TIME A GO AND TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT KEEPS TELLING ME THAT NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE PARTS. NHTSA RECALL NO. 16V-340 & 17V-006. THIS THING IS A TICKING TIME BOMB AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET IT FIXED.

TAKATA RECALL TOYOTA IS TOO SLOW TO COME UP WITH A REMEDY FOR THE TAKATA DEFECT. THEY HAVE HAD PLENTY OF TIME SINCE MAY 23, 2016, BUT SO FAR HAVE DONE NOTHING TO GIVE US, THE OWNERS OF THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS, ANY PIECE OF MIND WITH A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM THAT COULD KILL US.

VEHICLES WITH DELCO ECM HAVE A COMMON ISSUE WHERE THE FUEL INJECTORS LEAK INTO THE CYLINDER CAUSING ENGINE TO LOOSE COMPRESSION. THE LOWERED COMPRESSION CAUSES HARD START (IF ABLE TO START AT ALL) AND IF AND WHEN IT STARTS THE VEHICLE EMITS A CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WHEN VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE THE ENGINE IDLES HUNTS CONSTANTLY. ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING MAKING BRAKING AND STEERING VERY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. ECM HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE DAMAGE IS DONE TO THE ENGINE AND NEEDS A REBUILD. MULTIPLE VEHICLES HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE FROM 2009 - 2013 TOYOTA COROLLA RANGING FROM 100 MILES - 179,000 MILES. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY DIFFERENT EFFECT WITH MILEAGE OR MAINTENANCE. *TR

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A COMMUNICATION FROM TOYOTA DATED 6/9/16 IN REGARD TO A DEFECT IN MY CAR OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO TELL ME WHEN TO TAKE THE CAR TO MAKE THE CORRECTION. THEY RECOMMENDED NOT TO USE THAT SEAT; I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS; THE PROBLEM IS THAT MY CAR IS A FAMILY CAR & WE CAN'T TRAVEL TOGETHER. I'VE MADE SEVERAL CALLS TO TOYOTA PUERTO RICO BECAUSE I HAVE THE FRONT SEAT OF MY CAR DISABLED FOR THE PAST SEVEN MONTHS. EVERY TIME I CALL THEY TELL ME A DIFFERENT REASON: 1)" WE HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE PARTS FOR CORRECTION", 2) " WE ARE EXPECTING THE PARTS FOR NEXT MONTH", 3) " WE ARE EXPECTING THE PARTS FOR THE END OF THE MONTH". ON 1/12/17 I WENT PERSONALLY TO TOYOTA AUTOCENTRO FOR THE STATUS OF THIS RECALL. THEY GAVE ME THE TOYOTA USA CALL CENTER NUMBER; BUT THAT PHONE NUMBER ANSWERS FROM PR. I NEED THE TOYOTA TO RESPOND FOR THIS SITUATION AND IF THEY CAN'T MAKE THE CORRECTION; THEY SHOULD PROVIDE A VEHICLE SO I CAN MOVE MY WHOLE FAMILY I THINK I HAVE BEEN PATIENT ENOUGH AND I FEEL THEY AREN'T DOING ANYTHING TO SOLVE THE SITUATION. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE "REMEDY" IS FOR ME TO NOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE "SECOND PHASE" OF THE RECALL TAKES PLACE BUT THEY CANNOT TELL ME WHEN THAT MIGHT BE. WHAT KIND OF REMEDY IS THIS? I CAN'T DRIVE ANYONE ANYWHERE UNLESS I MAKE THEM SIT IN THE BACKSEAT LIKE A TAXI. ALSO, THIS DECREASES THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE I CAN HAVE IN MY CAR.
