TAKATA RECALL. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ALTHOUGH THIS PROBLEM IS YEARS OLD.
THERE IS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A WAY OF FIXING IT IN A DECENT TIME FRAME. I HAVE A FAMILY THAT REQUIRES SOMEONE TO BE IN THE FRONT SEAT. THE LETTER STATES TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM THAT SEAT, BUT IF I DONT HAVE ANY OTHER WAY OF TRANSPORTING MY FAMILY HOW WILL I STAY SAFE.
TAKATA RECALL I JUST RECEIVED NOTIFICATION ABOUT THE TAKATA RECALL AND I WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE I HAVE LIVED IN HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING TEMPERATURES. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A SOLUTION AT THIS TIME. IT IS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING TO KNOW THAT YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE FOR YOU OR YOUR PASSENGERS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY LOVED ONES THAT TAKATA WAS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT IN 2004. FOUR YEARS BEFORE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. IT SEEMS UNREASONABLE THAT AFTER BUYING A CARE BRAND NEW AND PAYING IN FULL THAT YOU SHOULD DISCOVER YOUR LIFE, AND THE LIVES OF YOUR FAMILY WERE NOT TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION BY THE INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS FOR SOME TIME. IT IS INFURIATING THAT THEY DIDN'T OFFER A TEMPORARY SOLUTION, SUCH AS REMOVING THE AIR BAG UNTIL THE PARTS COULD BE REPLACED. AT THIS POINT I HAVE TO HOPE THAT MY AIR BAG ISN'T DEPLOYED FOR ANY REASON, WHICH MAKES ME VERY NERVOUS. *TR

THAT IS AN UNACCEPTABLE ANSWER TO A POSSIBLY DEADLY PROBLEM. THIS IS MY 4TH TOYOTA AND WILL PROBABLY BE MY LAST. THE MANUFACTURE HAS NOT PROVIDED REMEDY OF THE RECALL FOR FAULTY AIR BAGS (MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBERG1R, NHTSA RECALL NUMBER17V006) , IT'S BEEN ALMOST 6 MONTHS IN WAITING. NOT ABLE TO DRIVE WITH SOMEONE IN PASSENGER SEAT.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT MY VEHICLE'S AIRBAG RECALL SOMETIME IN EARLY JANUARY. IT IS NOW MAY 23, 2017 AND THEY HAVE YET TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THE REMEDY. IT HAS BEEN OVER FIVE MONTHS AND THEY HAVE NOT CONCLUDED A FIX TO THE AIRBAGS ON MY PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. IT IS TRUTHFULLY, UNBELIEVABLE THAT THEY HAVE YET TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO PUT SOMEONE IN MY PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR AND WILL NOT PUT THEIR LIFE AT RISK BUT FIVE MONTHS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO FIGURE OUT A SOLUTION. I CHECKED THE WEBSITE AND IT PREDICTS THAT THE REMEDY WILL BE AVAILABLE IN DECEMBER OF 2017. I THINK THIS IS INEXCUSABLE TO ALLOW HAPPEN. GRANTED, I DO UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG, BUT BEING A COLLEGE STUDENT AND HAVING TO TRANSPORT PEOPLE FOR MY JOB, IT PUTS THEM AT RISK. THANK YOU FOR READING MY CONCERN.

TAKATA AIRBAGS - I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA IN JANUARY STATING THAT MY CAR WAS UNDER RECALL NOTICE BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAGS. I WAS TOLD NO ONE IS SUPPOSED TO SIT IN MY PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE REPAIR PART IS INSTALLED. IT IS SIX MONTHS LATER, AND AFTER TALKING WITH THEM TODAY, THEY STATED THAT THE PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT I CANNOT HAVE ANYONE SIT IN MY PASSENGER SEAT FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. TOYOTA SHOULD MAKE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR LACK OF SAFETY TESTING.

TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED A LETTER IN JANUARY 2017 TELLING ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS UNSAFE DUE TO THE ISSUES WITH THE BREAK-DOWN OF THE COMPONENTS IN THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. THE LETTER INDICATED I SHOULD STOP DRIVING MY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE. 10 MONTHS LATER, THERE IS STILL NO RESOLUTION FOR THIS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIPS AND ONLINE, THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX MY VEHICLE AND THERE IS NO ESTIMATION OF WHEN THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIX MY VEHICLE. I WAS OFFERED THE OPTION OF GETTING A RENTAL CAR BUT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGES ASSOCIATED WITH USING THE RENTAL CAR. I DRIVE 25 MILES ONE WAY, BACK AND FORTH TO WORK EVERYDAY. I CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE A RENTAL VEHICLE FOR A YEAR OR LONGER. I DON'T HAVE ANY OPTION BUT TO DRIVE MY UNSAFE VEHICLE. I HAVE CHILDREN THAT I ALSO HAVE TO DRIVE IN THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
