TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED INTERIM NOTICE REGARDING SPIRAL CABLE REPLACEMENT IN CONNECTION TO THE AIRBAG. HAVE NOT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THERE IS A REMEDY. ALSO RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE TAKATA FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR. THEY ADVISED THAT UNTIL A REMEDY IS AVAILABLE THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. HOW PRACTICAL IS THAT?
TAKATA RECALL THE COMPANY CAR INSPECTION IS DUE JANUARY 2017, THE 2009 COROLLA IS USED BY THE COMPANY TO DO JOBS AND IS REALLY NEEDED. ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC, I CAN NOT PASS INSPECTION WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE PANEL ON, SO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR THIS CASE. THE COMPANY NEEDS TO USE THE CAR TO WORK. I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL 1/17 FOR TAKATA FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR. I HAD CALLED IMMEDIATELY TO GET THIS FIXED BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN YET. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE MY VEHICLE FOR 5 MONTHS SO FAR! I WOULD LIKE A REFUND FOR MY CAR PAYMENTS SINCE THE TIME TOYOTA DISCOVERED THE AIRBAG DEFECTS 6/16. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE MY VEHICLE UP TO ITS STANDARDS AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS DEFECTIVE. I WOULD ALSO LIKE A LOANER CAR UNTIL YOU CAN REMEDY THE PROBLEM.

MY HUSBAND AND I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON BUT NEVER DEPLOYED, I HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS FROM A FRIEND. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY TOYOTA ABOUT THE RECALL. I WAS DRIVING MY TOYOTA COROLLA DURING THE DAY AND WENT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE AND SUDDENLY THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I JUST BARELY COULD TURN INTO THE PARKING SPACE I WAS TURNING INTO AND MY CAR WAS SIDEWAYS. MY CAR WAS STILL RUNNING. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH IT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WENT INTO THE PHARMACY. WHEN I CAME OUT AND WENT TO START MY CAR, IT WOULDN'T START. I HAD TO CALL AAA FOR A JUMP START AND EVEN AFTER THE JUMP START, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STILL LOCKED BUT THE CAR WAS RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT ENOUGH TO MAKE IT HOME BECAUSE IT WAS A STRAIGHT RIDE HOME AND HALF WAY HOME THE STEERING WHEEL ALL OF A SUDDEN UNLOCKED ON IT'S OWN. NOW I'M SCARED THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN WHILE I'M ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN ALOT OF TRAFFIC AND I'LL BE IN AN ACCIDENT AND KIILED OR HURT SOMEONE ELSE.

I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2008 AND THE FOLLOWING JANUARY 2009 I NOTICED BURNING SMELL FROM ENGINE. MY DAD BEGAN CHECKING OIL AND NOTICED I WAS OUT OF OIL WELL BEFORE MY NEXT OIL CHANGE. WENT TO LIPTON TOYOTA ENDLESSLY OVER PERIOD OF 6 YEARS AND WOULD BE TOLD THE OIL CONSUMPTION IS NORMAL, NOT A PROBLEM. IN 2013 THEY SAID THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM AND FIXED IT. ALL SUBSEQUENT OIL LOSS WAS NORMAL. MY ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO GO ON ..COILS STARTED MISFIRING BUT WHEN I PUTIN THE OIL IT WOULD CLEAR OUT. TOYOTA SAID NOT CONNECTED. THEY BEGAN ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION TEST IN SEPTEMBER 2016 AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE FIXED. STILL SAYING IT'S NOT RELATED TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION.

TAKATA RECALL ACCORDING TO TOYOTA'S INFORMATION MY 2009 COROLLA IN NOW WITHIN THE PERIOD TO POTENTIALLY EXPERIENCE THE DAMAGES DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL AND TOYOTA HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY STEPS CONCERNING THE NECESSARY PARTS REPLACEMENTS.
TAKATA RECALL: THE SPEED IN WHICH TOYOTA IS REMEDIATING THIS PROBLEM IS UNACCEPTABLE. MY CAR IS MY FAMILY'S PRIMARY VEHICLE. THE SOLUTION OF NOT RIDING IN THE FRONT SEAT UNTIL THE CAR IS OFFICIALLY RECALLED DOES NOT WORK FOR MY FAMILY OF FOUR, SINCE I HAVE 2 CAR SEATS THAT TAKE UP MY BACK SEAT. I FEEL THAT MY LIFE IS IN DANGER EVERY TIME THE FOUR OF US RIDE IN THE CAR. IT NOW HAS BEEN APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT MY DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE OVER 6 MONTHS AGO. I CONTACTED THE TOYOTA DEALER IN MY AREA IMMEDIATELY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. I HAVE CALLED THREE TIMES IN THE SIX MONTH PERIOD AND EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THEY ALSO ASKED ME IF I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM THEM, WHICH I DID NOT. THE DEALER IS GRAPPONE IN CONCORD NH. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF MY CAR FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS. THIS IS PURE NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF EITHER THE DEALER OR TOYOTA.

TAKATA INFLATORS...NOTICE RECEIVED FROM TOYOTA IN MAY/JUNE 2016 TO REPLACE PASSENGER AIRBAG. CALLED TODAY AND FOUND OUT THEY STILL DON'T HAVE A REPLACEMENT FOR MY CAR. I AM, HOWEVER, TO LET NO ONE SIT IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THAT IS SO UNACCEPTABLE. I WILL HAVE TO TELL ALL MY PASSENGERS NOT TO SIT IN THE FRONT AND FEEL LIKE A TAXI DRIVER. READING TOYOTAS INFO ON THIS RECALL, IT STATES THAT THE OLDER CARS IN HIGH TEMPERATURE PLACES ARE AT OF MORE HIGH RISK. I HEARD THAT HONDA HAS BEEN REPLACING THEIR FAULTED AIRBAGS IN REASONABLE TIME. TOYOTA TOLD ME THEY WERE WORKING ON THEIR YARIS AND STILL HAVEN'T ANY INFORMATION ON WHEN MY CALL WILL BE TAKEN CARED OF, I DON'T THINK I SHOULD BE DRIVING SUCH A DANGEROUS CAR. TAKATA RECALL THE INTERIM NOTICE 16V-340 ON THE RECALL WAS RECEIVED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. AS OF OCTOBER 31, THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY FOR THE RECALL, AND THAT IT WILL STILL TAKE SEVERAL MORE MONTHS. IN THE MEANTIME, THERE IS TO BE NO ONE RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THUS, THE FIVE PASSENGER CAR I HAD BOUGHT IS NOW, EFFECTIVELY, A FOUR PASSENGER CAR. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER.
"TAKATA RECALL" AFTER RECEIVING A NOTIFICATION (JUNE 2016) FROM TOYOTA INDICATING THAT I HAD A TAKATA AIR BAG WHICH HAD BEEN RECALLED, I DECIDED TO CALL TOYOTA ON OCT. 31, 2016 TO ASK WHEN MY RECALLED TAKATA AIRBAG WOULD BE REPLACED SINCE 4 MONTHS HAD ALREADY PASSED, AND I STILL HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT WHEN I COULD BRING MY CAR IN FOR THE RECALL/REPAIR. THE TOYOTA SERVICE CENTER SAID THAT THEY HAVEN'T STARTED REPLACING THESE AIRBAGS BECAUSE THE PARTS/REPLACEMENTS WERE STILL BEING BUILT AND THAT IT COULD TAKE SEVERAL MORE MONTHS IF NOT YEARS! I HAVE A YOUNG CHILD WHO RIDES WITH ME AND I FIND THIS ANSWER UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
