Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer purchase. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 160,080. At the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 320,197.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V024000 (Air Bags); and requested to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
My 2010 Toyota Corolla is experiencing progressive paint failure due to a known manufacturer defect involving factory-applied Blizzard Pearl or Super White paint. The affected component is the factory paint system, specifically the adhesion between the topcoat and primer, which is failing and causing the paint to peel off in sheets from exterior body panels. The defective paint is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates a potential safety concern, as sections of paint may detach while the vehicle is in motion, creating debris that could pose a hazard to surrounding motorists. In addition, exposed underlying surfaces may become more susceptible to corrosion over time, which could affect the integrity of exterior body panels. The issue was previously confirmed by an authorized dealership during inspections conducted under the manufacturer’s Customer Support Program for paint peeling on vehicles equipped with Blizzard Pearl or Super White paint. During the active coverage period, only certain visibly affected panels were refinished, while other factory-painted panels were left untreated. Since the program has expired, the previously untreated panels are now exhibiting the same paint peeling and failure that the program was intended to address. The paint deterioration developed gradually over time and was not the result of external damage. No warning lamps or messages were present prior to the failure.
In 2018, my 2010 Toyota Corolla was taken to the dealership for the Takata Airbag Recall. After the repair the airbag warning light would intermittently display and go away only to come back later. The light was never consistent and was always randomly on so in turn could be off some times during the start up of the vehicle. In 2021, I took the vehicle to the dealership in which at the time the light was still intermittent. The dealership did not present any diagnostic and instead had reset the code during that time. The light would continue to still intermittently show afterwards. Currently the airbag warning light has been solid. Today 1/9/2026, the dealership has indicated they would not remediate this situation under workmanship warranty work despite previously resetting the code. The dealership insists the customer should pay for this remediation work. I have currently declined the work to seek external advise. The dealership work invoice states the code B1806 for the front passenger side squib circuit, this continued error puts passengers at risk in a car accident. Upon request of the previous dealership service history, the customer noted that there is a missing gap for service records on the dealership side. Most importantly the customer stated concern for the 2021 requested remediation was not documented. These appointments are still visible via the customer's service appointment reminder emails.
I simply was driving on the freeway in the slow lane about to get off my exit and my passenger window exploded, glass went everywhere.
Failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standards occupant crash protection the air bag label installed on the driver side sun visor can separate from the surface visor
The contact owned a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH during a rain storm, the vehicle rolled over a dip in the road and lost traction. The contact stated he lost control and the vehicle crashed into the center divider of the road and rolled onto the roof. The contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that the police arrived as well as EMS and the fire department. The police on the scene filed a report. The contact stated that he had bruises to his arms and chest from the seat belt and was treated at the scene but was not transported to the hospital. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot and declared a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. The contact had stated that he had NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V741000 (Air Bags) completed several years ago and related the failure of the air bag to inflate on the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The paint on the car's hood is chipping and the paint on the car's hood, roof, and back hatch is fading to white and becoming rough to the touch, as if a coating is coming off.
my car had issues completely shutting down on me while I was driving which was very dangerous my abs light and steering light would come on each time it shuts down and I wasn’t able to use my power locks lights I couldn’t move it out of park or nothing those were the only two lights the was still able to start up just couldn’t move or use any buttons my keypad wasn’t working so that indicated that it was an electrical issue so I thought it was my battery even though the light wasn’t on for the battery I had my battery tested and the code came back and said I needed an alternator so I had my alternator tested and it works perfectly fine so then I checked the fuse box and it was burned up so that was my whole issue
All airbags are no longer working due to a chip malfunction.
Engine problem Toyota corolla 2010 S vvt-I gear rattle when I started and by the time goes by the timing change maybe get broken while I'm driving and may cause and accident This problem is coming from manufacture cause my son in law got the same car as mine and he got hte same problem
I would like to complaint about my stolen license plate year tag.
The timing chain broke while the vehicle was in motion. Per multiple online sources, many of reported that the VVTi malfunction can cause premature wearing of the timing chain. There were only 140K miles on the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by two Toyota dealerships. There were no warning signs of this happening. The car stopped running in the middle of an intersection.
The contact owned a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undetermined speed, another vehicle entered her lane. The vehicle went into a 360 turn and crashed into a telephone pole. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained injuries to her knee and struck her head on the steering wheel. Medical attention was provided. A police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. There were no reported fires. The vehicle was towed to an independent lot. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 203,000.
I was on a highway exit ramp (exit 5 off Northbound I-395) when my airbags deployed (driver and both sides). My car veered off the asphalt and then quickly I got control and continued out of traffic on a residential side road just off Route 7 westbound. My car then abruptly stoped. I managed to restart it a couple of times and run it just enough to get it off the road . I have attached photos. There does not appear to be any resulting damage to the body of the car. There were no outstanding recalls on the vehicle. I have reported the incident to my insurance (Geico).
On 11/10/2014 , we had our recall regarding our 2010 Corolla airbags corrected at our dealership with the replacement of the sub-assembly spiral cable. Our mileage at the time was 27382 miles. Just recently at 58,000 miles we have to pay $775 to replace that same spiral cable. This seems somewhat financially onerous since this is obviously not a wear and tear item , but one crucial to the vehicle's innate safety and one that does not appear to hold up well. I do not believe vehicle owners should be required to subsidize Toyota's defective equipment.
On 10/27/2021, the car was enroute to work when the sunroof glass completely departed the vehicle and hit the road surface immediately behind where it shattered completely. There was no surrounding traffic to endanger thankfully. On inspection, the sunroof frame shows deep corrosion and clear evidence of de-bonding over a lengthy period. We had been hearing wind noise for quite awhile but were unaware of the exact nature and location of it. No water leaks have been noticed. Research subsequently found the Webasto Hollandia 700 recall. Serial number of our unit is squarely in the recalled serial range. We are trying to get it taken care of with the company; no success at contacting them thus far.
Was drive west down Gooding Ave in Bristol,R.I 02809 when my vehicle idle surged and car was going over 50mph with out my foot on the accelerator.. when trying to control the vehicle I couldn't even use the brakes stepping on the brake would not slow down the vehicle I ended up side swiping a vehicle at a traffic light and proceeded through the intersection through a fence onto a person's lawn Clearly this was a unintended acceleration issue
There have been multiple times where the car accelerates on it's own, suddenly. The latest was last evening. It usually happens when I'm just going to accelerate slighting (at a stop sign, or end of the driveway) where I give it just a little gas, and the car accelerates much more quickly than intended. I've looked for a recall, but cannot find one for this. Please advise.
My check ingine light came on. I had noticed the slippery when wet light came on and the vcs light also came on. Since the Catalytic Converter seemed to be the problem. The gentleman at AutoZone diagnosed the car and told me about Catalytic clean. I used that and the lights went off. I believe I was sold a crappy car. The dealership did nothing to replace or look at it. I had not even put 2000 miles on the car since purchased.
Power steering goes out while operating the car then come back
2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND SUGGESTED REPLACING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *JS
I CHANGE OIL REGULARLY EVERY 5000 MILES. AT 187,775 MILES CHANGED OIL AND ONLY 1.25QT CAME OUT. NEXT OIL CHANGE ROUGHLY 192,000 ONLY 2QT CAME OUT. OIL CAPACITY IS AROUND 4.4 QT. NO OIL LEAKS SO THIS ENGINE IS BURNING OIL 2QT EVERY 5000 MILES.
STARTED MY CAR THIS MORNING (36 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT) AND THE REAR WINDSHIELD SHATTERED WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN GEAR TO START BACKING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AND APPROACHING A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LARICHE TOYOTA (920 PLAZA ST, FINDLAY, OH 45840) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
I WAS HIT BY A DRIVER GOING AT LEAST 20 MPH LEAVING MY VEHICLE TOTALED AND MYSELF INJURED. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED ON IMPACT. I WAS IN A ROTARY GOING 10-15MPH AND THE OTHER VEHICLE (TRUCK) STRUCK FROM THE FRONT/SIDE AREA.
I DELIVER FOR DOORDASH AND I WAS MAKING MY THIRD DELIVERY OF THE MORNING. AS I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT TO PARK MY CAR I TRIED TO OUT MY CAR INTO PARK LIKE I HAD BEEN ALL MORNING EXCEPT THIS TIME I COULDN'T PUT MY CAR INTO PARK. AFTER I FINISHED THE DELIVERY I WENT BACK OUT TO MY CAR TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND I COULDN'T TAKE MY CAR OUT OF PARK. IT FELT LIKE SOMETHING WAS JAMMED AND THE GEAR STUCK WOULD BARELY BUDGE. MY FIRST INSTINCT WAS TO LOOK ONLINE TO SEE IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER CARS LIKE MINE AND MANY ARTICLES POPPED UP OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO THEIR CAR. MY CAR HAS ZERO PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION, GEAR BOX OR ANYTHING IN THE PAST AND IT'S NEVER MADE ANY ODD NOISES EITHER. I BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AND NOT SOMETHING THAT I CAUSED.

The windshield wipers stop mid cycle. At anytime while driving. If I wiggle them they will resume function. In heavy rain losing wipers and visibility is a huge safety issue. Sometimes they won’t even work when I turn them on and then they will all of a sudden turn on.
I GOT IN MY CAR AND BUCKLED MY SEATBELT. I STARTED DRIVING AWAY WHEN I REALIZED IT WASN'T STAYING BUCKLED.I TRIED TO RE-BUCKLE. A SPRING FLEW OUT OF THE BUCKLE. I COULD NOT GET THE SEATBELT TO BUCKLE AFTER THAT.I HAD TO GO TO WORK, SO I BUCKLED THE SEATBELT INTO THE PASSENGER COUPLING AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO WORK. THE CAR WAS ENTIRELY IN MOTION DURING THIS SEQUENCE.
SUNROOF SEAL IS LIFTED, NOT JUST ONLY IN MY CAR I HAD SEEN A LOT OF THE SAME CAR WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE LIFTED SEAL AREA, SPECIFIC THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SEAL. SEAL RUSTED IN THE INSIDE. PREVENTING SOMETIMES A SCREECHING NOISE WHEN I OPEN THE SUNROOF CAUSING FRICTION TO THE METAL. IT WOULD CAUSE FIRE DUE TO FRICTION TO THE SURFACE OF THE METAL CAUSING POSSIBLE HAZARD TO THE MOTOR THAT OPERATES THE SUNROOF TOO.
CAR SUDDENLY ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON AT ONCE BRAKE LIGHTS,ABS LIGHTS,POWER STEERING LIGHTS,AND SPEEDOMETER. I'VE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY RIPPED ME OFF SAID THEY HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS WRONG. *LN*JB
IN A STATIONARY POSITION, AS SOON AS I TURN MY CAR OVER MY ENGINE WILL BE AT A HIGHER RPM THAN WHAT IT SHOULD AND IT WONT RUN AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD. ITS HARDER ON SHIFTING INTO THE NEXT GEAR.
THE VSC LIGHT IS FLASHING, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT IS ON AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON DOES NOT WORK EITHER NOW. I PLUGGED IN AN OBD SCANNER AND GOT A C1201 ERROR CODE WHICH WE WERE NOT ABLE TO CLEAR. I DON'T RECALL IF WE WERE MOVING, PARKED OUT JUST TURNED THE CAR ON WHEN THE LIGHTS STARTED BUT THEY WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING.
AIRBAGS ICON ON PASSENGERS SIDE APPEAR AS OFF AS WELL AS DRIVER SIDE ON PANEL APPEARS AS NOT WORKING, I HAVE TO SHUT OFF AND ON THE VEHICLE FOR IT TO GO AWAY OR RESET, FROM TIME TO TIME IT OCCURS - IT JUST STARTED HAPPENING ABOUT A MONTH OR SO AGO IT WAS WORKING FINE - NOW EVERY NOW AND THEN THE AIRBAGS MALFUNCTION AND APPEAR AS OFF ON THE PANELS AND VEHICLE HAS TO BE TURNED OFF AND ON FOR THE OFF BUTTON/ FUNCTION TO BE RESET. ALSO LOCK BUTTON ON DRIVER SIDE DOES NOT LOCK WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL ... IT HAS TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE CLOSED AND ALARM TO BE ACTIVATED. *TR
THE VSC, TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH WILL NOT GO OFF. IT CONTINUOUSLY FLASHES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTS ON AS WELL. I'VE DONE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO GET IT TO GO OFF, INCLUDING HAVING A CERTIFIED MECHANIC CHECK IT, TO NO AVAIL. THEREFORE, I'M ASSUMING I HAVE NO REACTION CONTROL WHATSOEVER AS IT KEEPS FLASHING "TRACTION CONTROL OFF".
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED AND THE POWER STEERING OPERATED AS INTENDED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN LIGHT FLASHED ON INSTRUMENT PANEL PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 187,000.
USING ENGINE OIL.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING A DANGEROUS FUEL PUMP ISSUE FOR SOME TIME. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE SAME ISSUE THAT THEY HAVE A FUEL PUMP ISSUE FOR 2018 & 2019 TOYOTAS! I BELIEVE TOYOTA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR SOME TIME. MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA HAS BEEN BACKFIRING, STALLING OUT, & SHUTTING OFF WHEN I GET INTO HEAVY OR STANDSTILL TRAFFIC, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT STALLED OUT & SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF ROBBINS STREET (3 LANE 1 WAY STREET) NEAR THE TACONY PALMYRA BRIDGE DUE TO A BRIDGE OPENING THAT BACKED UP TRAFFIC FOR OVER 45 MINUTES 1 DAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. WHEN THE BRIDGE FINALLY OPENED, I WAS ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES. LUCKILY A MECHANIC CAME BY & HE WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN. I DID TAKE IT TO AAA SERVICE CENTER IN MT LAUREL NJ & THEY DID DIAGNOSED THAT IT IS A FUEL PUMP ISSUE THAT WILL COST $2,273.40. AGAIN I BELIEVE TOYOTA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR SOME TIME SIMILAR TO THE BRAKE RECALL THAT THEY HAD SOME TIME AGO. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE STILL CONTINUES...
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHEN I AM BACKING UP MY CAR TO DO REVERSE PARKING. IT HAPPENED ONLY ONCE. IT STARED WORKING WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD AND CAME BACK TO NORMAL. I SHOWED IT TO TOYOTA AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH STEERING.
MY CAR'S STEERING WHEEL FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS HAS BEEN SO STIFF AND HARD TO MANEUVER. I WENT TO WORK FINE BUT AS I WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE WORK, I TURNED THE CAR ON, SEEMS LIKE THE START WAS WEAK, AS I BACKED UP 2 FEET, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SO HARD TO MANEUVER. I WENT TO PARK MY CAR BACK TO WHERE IT WAS FROM, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, THEN ALL I HEAR WAS A CLICKING SOUND, ENGINE WON'T START. COWORKERS JUMPED THE CAR, IT STARTED, TOOK IT TO ADVANCE FOR DIAGNOSIS, THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG ON THE ALTERNATOR OR BATTERY (BOTH LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD). THE CAR RAN LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. WENT TO WORK DRIVING THE CAR THE FOLLOWING DAY. IT WAS FINE, UNTIL I HAVE TO LEAVE WORK AGAIN. THE SAME THING HAPPENED!!! CAR'S ON PARK, STARTED THE CAR, BACKED UP, TURNED THE WHEELS, IT WAS STIFF AND IT SEEMED TO HAVE LOCKED, COWORKERS JUMP STARTED IT, DROVE HOME BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS ACTING WEIRD. I MADE IT HOME. HUSBAND DROVE THE CAR A BLOCKS FROM THE HOUSE TO SEE IT FOR HIMSELF THEN WHILE DRIVING BACK HE MENTIONED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED GET SOOOOO HARD AND STIFF. IT WAS NOT SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE THE CAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.
DIFFICULTY TURNING STEERING WHEEL. I WAS PULLING OUT OF A STORE PARKING LOT & ONTO A MAIN STREET AND AS I WAS DRIVING AND BEGINNING TO TURN RIGHT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY STIFF AND DIFFICULT TO TURN. I BECAME ANXIOUS BECAUSE I WAS HALFWAY ON THE MAIN STREET SO I USED BOTH HANDS TO TURN MY VEHICLE ONTO THE STREET AND LOOKED FOR THE NEAREST SIDE STREET TO GET OUT OF HARMS WAY. ONCE I GOT ONTO A SIDE STREET MANY IF NOT ALL LIGHTS ON MY CENTER CONSOLE ILLUMINATED (BRAKE LIGHT, BATTERY, ABS, VCS, ENGINE LIGHT ETC.). I HAVE ABOUT 140000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE.
ON 08/30/2019 I WAS DRIVING DOWN A SUBURBAN CITY STREET GOING 40MPH AND SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, BUT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL BECAUSE IS HADU LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT TURN. I WAS TERRIFIED BECAUSE I HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET BECAUSE THE CAR KEPT MOVING STRAIGHT AHEAD. I WAS AFRAID OF BEING HIT, BECAUSE I COULD GET THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN. OUT OF DESPERATION AND FEAR, I GRABBED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL WITH BOTH HANDS AND TRIED TO PULL DOWN TO MAKE THE STEERING WHEEL TURN...I WAS USING EXTREME FORCE, PULLING NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL FINALLY MOVED THE WHEELS TO THE LEFT SO I COULD MAKE THE LEFT HAND TURN. BUT WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO STRAIGHTEN THE WHEELS AND CONTINUE MOVING STRAIGHT AHEAD, THE SAME THING OCCURRED....THE STEERING WHEEL REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE, USING TWO HANDS PULLING DOWN ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL REPEATED TIMES TO GET THE CAR IN POSITION TO MOVE FORWARD. BY THE GRACE OF GOD, NO TRAFFIC CAME DOWN THE ROAD IN EITHER DIRECTION. I CONTINUED TRAVELING DOWN THE STRAIGHT ROAD FOR TWO MILES, UNTIL I CAME TO A STOPLIGHT WHERE I HAD TO MAKE ANOTHER LEFT TURN. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE SAME THING OCCURRED...I HAD TO REPEATED APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE TO GET THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN, WHICH SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY. THIS TIME THERE WAS TRAFFIC BEHIND ME BEEPING THEIR HORNS TO GET OUT OF THE WAY, BUT SINCE THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING, IT TOOK ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES PULL THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN THE CAR. I TURNED ON THE FLASHER LIGHTS, DROVE 10MPH AND CONTINUED HOME. THE CAR DROVE STRAIGHT: STEERING WHEEL LOCKED-UP AND REQUIRED EXESSIVE FORCE FOR NEXT FOUR RIGHT/LEFT TURNS I HAD TO MAKE TO GET HOME. AFRAID TO DRIVE CAR; INJURED RT ROTOR CUP USING SUCH FORCE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.TAKING TO TOYOTA DEALER TOMORROW FOR DIAGNOSIS.
TAKATA RECALL- THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT RECENTLY CAME ON IN MY CAR AND I AM BEING TOLD THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG INFLATOR AND/OR SENSOR CAUSING THE LIGHT TO STAY ON. ALSO THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN A YEAR THAT MY HORN HAS GONE OUT.
DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH IS NOT WORKING GOOD. WHEN USING IT TO PULL DOWN DRIVER SIDE WINDOW IS BEING SCRATCHED UP DUE TO I THINK LACK OF LUBRICANT. WINDOW SWITCH WORKS BUT IS MAKING MARKS ON MY WINDO AND I AM SCARED IT WILL EVENTUALLY BREAK IT.
I WANT TO KNOW THE CAR HISTORY
THIS RECALL HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BUT IS NOT SHOWING ON THIS SITE.
MY 2010 TOYOTA KEPT STALLING OUT, MOSTLY WHEN IT WAS IN IDLE MODE. IF I WAS DRIVING A SLOWER SPEED, IT WOULD SOMETIMES LOSE POWER AND WHEN I PUSHED ON THE GAS PEDAL, THERE WAS NOTHING THERE...LIKE AIR. IT WOULD STALL OUT IF I WAS SITTING IN TRAFFIC OVER MINUTES. I HAD TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND KEEP MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL TO KEEP IT IDLED UP. INITIALLY I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE IGNITION COILS, WHICH I HAD REPLACED. THEN THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED. THEN THE AIR MASS SENSOR. AND MY BATTERY. ALSO THE REPAIR SHOP DID SOME ADJUSTMENT TO THE THROTTLE. NONE OFF THAT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE; IT WAS STILL STALLING OUT JUST OUT OF THE BLUE. THE LAST REPAIR SHOP SAID THEY ONLY SAW ONE CODE IN THE COMPUTER AND IT WAS GIVING THEM A READING WHERE THE FUEL PUMP HAD SOMETHING LIKE A "VAPOR LOCK" AND WAS NOT SENDING OUT FUEL LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO. THIS CAR HAS BEEN STALLING OUT ON US SINCE APRIL 2019 AND HAS HAD REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. MY FUEL PUMP WAS FINALLY REPLACED ON FEBRUARY 21,2020 AND SO FAR IT HAS NOT STALLED OUT AT ALL, EVEN WHEN IT'S IN IDLE MODE. COST TO REPAIR IT WAS $901.67.
SUDDEN FAILURE OF STEERING WHILE DRIVING. CURRENT MILEAGE AROUND 116,000. HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 30MIN AROUND 15-35MPH ON CITY STREETS WHEN STEERING SUDDENLY LOCKED UP AT ABOUT 15MPH WHILE I WAS MERGING LANES. BECAME INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO TURN STEERING WHEEL. AFTER 3 STRAIGHT BLOCKS AND NO CARS IN THE ROAD, I HAD TO USE 3 LANES AND ALOT OF FORCE TO ATTEMPT TO TURN RIGHT IN ORDER TO GET OFF THE MAIN ROAD AND ON TO A SIDE STREET. I LET RUNNING CAR SIT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES WHILE I TRIED TO CALL FOR HELP...THEN THE STEERING SUDDENLY STARTED TO WORK AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN ON A FREEWAY.
ELECTRIC STEERING STOPPED WORKING AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP. I SHUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED AND RETURNED HOME. CAR IS IN THE DRIVEWAY SINCE.
