AIR BAG PASSENGER LIGHT TURNS ON BY ITSELF EVEN AFTER PASSENGER PROPERLY SECURED THE SEAT BELT BY THE SEAT. HAD TO TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES.

THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE DEPRESSED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO REMAIN STATIONARY IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,000.
I'M NOT 100% SURE IF THE MASTER SWITCH WINDOW IS PART OF THE RECALL BUT MY MASTER SWITCH WAS SMOKING AND I FELT LIKE IF I CONTINUED DRIVING EARLIER IT FELT LIKE MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. I COULD'VE LOST CONTROL BECAUSE MY SWITCH WAS LITERALLY SMOKING NON STOP. I WAS AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN IT HAPPENED, LUCKILY I WAS ON THE FIRST LINE, I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE WINDOW SWITCH WITH MY ELBOW AND IT STARTED TO SMOKE. I WASN'T FEELING SAFE SO I CALLED MY INSURANCE AND I ASKED FOR A TOW TRUCK TO BRING MY CAR TO S NEAREST TOYOTA DEALER, I KEPT ASKING TOYOTA DEALER IF THIS WAS PART OF THE RECALL BUT THEY CANNOT ANSWER ME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

EPS LIGHT CAME ON CAR CUT OFF BRAKES STOP WORKING
I PURCHASED A TOYOTA COROLLA IN 2010 AND IT APPARENTLY HAD A POTENTIAL CAM GEAR ISSUE. THEY HAD PUT OUT A TSB ALERT ON THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER THEY NEVER DISCLOSED TO ME THAT THIS ISSUE COULD ACCUR. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO THEIR DEALERSHIP AND THE COST OF REPAIR IS $1150. IF THEY WOULD HAVE TOLD ME AT THE TIME OF THE PURCHASE THAT THE CAM GEAR COULD HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE I WOULDN'T HAVE PURCHASED IT. THEY FAILED TO DISCLOSE TO ME ANY POTENTIAL ISSUES AT THE TIME OF SALE. THIS PRACTICE IS FRAUDULENT AND HIGHLY UNETHICAL. I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED WITH ME AND IT BE CORRECTED FOR FUTURE PURSCHASES OF OTHERS.
INSPECTION BY AUTO REPAIR FACILITY (BROOKHAVEN AUTOMOTIVE, NORMAN OKLAHOMA) REVEALED DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS WERE NOT WORKING, ALONG WITH HORN AND SPEED CONTROL UNIT. CLOCK SPRING AND SPIRAL CABLE KIT FOUND INOPERATIVE AND REPLACED BY FACILITY AT COST OF $339 (PARTS & LABOR) TO CONSUMER. THE SPIRAL CABLE UNIT WAS SUBJECT PREVIOUSLY TO RECALL AND WAS SO REPLACED AT NO CHARGE BY FOWLER TOYOTA, NORMAN OKLAHOMA, ON 12/02/14. SHOULDN'T THESE SAFETY DEFECTS BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER? THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 80 MILES ROUND TRIP. PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY OF PASSENGER AND STOPPED. CAR WAS IDLING THEN SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD. HAD TO STOMP ON BRAKE HARD, BUT STILL HIT GARAGE DOOR CAUSING DAMAGE. THIS WAS THE THIRD INCIDENT WITH MY CAR AND I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I SLOWED AT A STOP LIGHT WHICH WAS GREEN PREPARING TO TURN RIGHT. THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND I STOOD ON THE BRAKE AS I TURNED THE CORNER. THE CAR SOUNDED LIKE ALL THE BOLTS AND MOTOR WERE FALLING OUT BEFORE IT RIGHTED ITSELF. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

AFTER I TURNED AROUND THE CORNER OF ETNA ST /DERBY ST. IN BERKELEY, THE STEERING SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED AND THE CAR VEERED TO THE ROADSIDE AND HIT A PARKED CAR. I TRIED TO BRAKE IMMEDIATELY. THE IMPACT WAS SLIGHT, BUT MY CAR COULD NOT BE MOVED ANY MORE. I CALLED THE POLICE AND THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE OF MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THE PERSON FROM THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOLD ME THAT THE STEERING MECHANISM BROKE AND THE FRONT AXLE FELL OUT. ON THE DAY FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT, I REPORTED IT TO TOYOTA COOPERATION AND AM CURRENTLY WAITING FOR THEIR RESPONSE. *TR
THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. I WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAS OCCURRED 4 MORE TIMES IN SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. HOWEVER, LAST NIGHT, WHILE TURNING THE CAR WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT RAPIDLY TO AVOID AN OBJECT ON THE STREET, THE CAR LOST POWER. ALL THE WARNING AND CONTROL LIGHTS IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE TURNED ON FOR 3 TO 4 SECONDS BUT THE CAR STARTED ON ITS OWN. THAT IS, I DID NOT HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY ON AS IN PREVIOUS 4 OCCASIONS. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER FOR TOMORROW MORNING.

2010 TOYOTA COROLLA THE TRANSMISSION WILL SURGE WHEN TRYING TO PASS ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN DRIVING AND TRYING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE THERE IS A MINOR DELAY WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS CAUSING A JOLT AND FAST ACCELERATION. ALSO AT LOW SPEEDS COMING UP TO A LIGHT AND THEN IT TURNS GREEN BUT NOT FULLY STOPPED MAYBE 15 MILES AN HOUR THE TRANSMISSION WILL ALSO SURGE. THIS SEEMS LIKE AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND TOYOTA WANTS TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT THIS IS RIDICULOUS A CAR WITH 62,000 MILES HAS THIS PROBLEM THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ASAP. *TR
several weeks After I took my vehicle into the local dealership for the PWMS assembly window panel control switch problem, I realized my door panel and the switch area was loose. I mentioned this after a couple weeks when I really noticed the Window Master Switch mechanism was dropping downward under the panel cover. The dealership did not take me seriously, so it continued to get worse. I should have taken the car back and insisted they fix it. As of today, I cannot use my Key for power entry, i must manually use the key in the door. The power on the windows still works, but the whole master switch assembly is precariously hanging there in the door and the panel that went on top was damaged when they replaced it so now its broken off in pieces and cannot even be used. I am SO unhappy with this dealership, for the many times I have taken my car in for service. I do not want to go back to them at all after the horribly shoddy job they did with the Master Switch and their lack of concern when I told them they put my door back together poorly. Is the work guaranteed, particularly when it's been this long since I took my car in for this recall fix? I take care of my car which at its age only has 38,000 miles on it. I do not want to take it to the same dealership and unfortunately there's not another one close by. Can you help me by demanding a dealership fix my problem before I actually have a fire due to the unprofessional manner in which the dealership handled my recall fix? I wish I had ignored the recall because my car was better off before I took it in.

CHECK ENGINE AND VSC LIGHTS BLINKING. HANGS UP IN THIRD GEAR. HAD CODE PULLED. SHIFT SOLENOID CLOSED. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. DEALERSHIPS JUST GIVE YOU THE RUNAROUND. I WAS STARTING TO BACK OUT OF A DIAGONAL PARKING SPACE AND SUDDENLY THE CAR RAPIDLY ACCELERATED AND BACKED ACROSS TWO LANES OF DOWNTOWN BUSINESS TRAFFIC COLLIDING WITH A VEHICLE PARKED DIAGONALLY ACROSS THE STREET. "TAKATA RECALL" CLIENT WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT WHEN A DRIVE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HER CAUSING THE VEHICLE COLLOSION. THE AIRBAG RUPTURED AND THE RELEASE OF SOME CHEMICAL CAUSED SMALL BURNS TO MY CLIENT'S CHEST AND FRACTURED HER STERNUM.

WHILE EXITING INTERSTATE RAMP TO THE RIGHT, STEERING WOULD NOT TURN BACK STRAIGHT AND CONTINUED TURNING TO THE RIGHT, BRAKED HARD AND CAR STOPPED ON RIGHT SHOULDER OF RAMP TURNED CAR OFF AND RESTARTED STEERING WENT BACK TO WORKING. SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. HAVE TAKEN CAR TO SEVERAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS AND THEY DO A QUICK CHECK AND SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THIS WEEK I HAVE LEFT CAR AT FLORENCE TOYOTA AND TOLD THEM TO KEEP IT ALL WEEK TO TRY AND FIND PROBLEM. HAVE SEEN ONLINE THAT THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. MY DAUGHTER SAYS IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN NOW IF ACCELERATING WHILE TRYING TO TURN AND MORE OFTEN IN WET DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS CAR HAS ELECTRICALLY ASSISTED STEERING SYSTEM. *TR

THE CAR SEEMS TO INCREASE IN SPEED EVEN WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE DIGITAL DISPLAY RADIO SELDOM WORKS, THE ANTI SKID CONTROL DOES NOT ACTIVATE, THE LIGHTS, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT BLINK ON AND OFF, INCLUDING HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT. WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS TAKING A LEFT HAND TURN INTO SUPERMARKET ENTRANCE, HER STEERING LOCKED UP ON HER. SHE HAS BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR SINCE MIDDLE OF JUNE 2014 WHEN CAR WAS PURCHASED FOR HER. I HAVE OWNED TOYOTAS IN THE PAST, AND HAVE KNOWN THEM TO BE RELIABLE VEHICLES. THIS INCIDENCE HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THIS TIME, AND TOYOTA APPARENTLY KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM. THEY EVEN RECOGNIZE IT AS BEING SOME FORM OF ELECTRONIC POWERING STEERING ISSUE, WHOSE COST IS UPWARDS OF 1400.00 TO REPAIR. I AM COMPLETELY DUMBFOUNDED BY THIS (CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE), THAT IS SUPPOSE TO COST ME, THE CONSUMER ANOTHER 1400.00 TO REPAIR. I HAVE READ OF THIS ISSUE IN PREVIOUS LOGS, NEWS REPORTS, AND COMPLAINTS. WHY HAS TOYOTA OR NHTSA NOT FORCED THIS ISSUE. I TOOK MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA S IN FOR SERVICE ON 9/26/14 AT VICTORY TOYOTA OF CANTON, MI 48188 FOR A REGULAR SERVICE. ALL SERVICE HAS BEEN COMPLETED AT VICTORY TOYOTA OF CANTON, MI 48188 SINCE I PURCHASE THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE FROM THEM. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR HAD A TIMING COVER LEAK THAT WAS TO COST ME APPROXIMATELY $1,300.00 TO FIX AND THAT IF I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT THE LEAK WOULD GET WORSE. I AM OUT OF MY TWO YEAR WARRANTY TIME PERIOD. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WAS THE 6TH THEY'D SEEN IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND ONE OF THEM WAS EVEN AS LOW AS $18,000 MILES. HE STATED THAT AT SOME POINT THERE WOULD PROBABLY BE A RECALL. I CALLED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS AND OPENED CASE NUMBER [XXX] AND WAIT TO HEAR WHAT THEIR SOLUTION IS. I ADVISED THAT ANYTHING LESS THAN FULL REPAIR BY TOYOTA AT NO CHARGE TO ME WOULD BE UNACCEPTABLE. SUCH AN ISSUE SHOULD NOT POTENTIALLY HAPPEN IN A VEHICLE UNTIL 100,000 TO 110, 000 MILES. WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN OUT OF A PARKING LOT MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I TURNED OFF THE CAR FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON EVERYTHING WAS FINE. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT NO INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR OVER TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. AT THIS POINT THE STEERING WAS FINE. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME 99 DOLLARS AND DID A DIAGNOSTIC, WHICH TURNED UP NOTHING. ASSUMING THAT THE CAR WAS OK, AND THIS STEERING WHEEL LOCK WAS JUST A ONE TIME THING I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE CAR AS NORMAL. A FEW DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STILL COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS STEERING LOCK KEEPS HAPPENING TO ME. THE WHEEL LOCKS, I TURN OFF THE CAR, I TURN IT BACK ON AND EVERYTHING IS FINE. MY BIGGEST FEAR IS THAT THE WHEEL WILL LOCK IN A PLACE WHERE I DON'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON TO GET THE WHEEL UNLOCKED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I FOUND THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED A INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO SAID THE PROBLEM IS MOST LIKELY IN THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTOR. THE PART ALONE IS ABOUT 1400 DOLLARS. I KNOW THERE ARE SERVICE BULLETINS OUT TO DEALERS ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS COVERED. I DON'T THINK ITS FAIR THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR A REPAIR THAT IS TOYOTA'S FAULT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH TOYOTA'S AND FOR THAT MATTER ALMOST ALL CAR COMPANIES ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM. WHY ARE THESE SYSTEM STILL ALLOWED TO BE USED. THE ONLY ONE TO SUFFER IN THE CONSUMER. ANYWAY, MY CAR IS A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA LE. UPON PURCHASING THIS CAR FROM CARMAX ON 02/2012 THERE HAD BEEN CONSTANT TRANSMISSION ISSUES THAT WERE NOT BEING RESOLVED FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD GONE IN AND TRIED HAVING MY TRANSMISSION LOOKED AT THREE TIMES A THE CARMAX DEALERSHIP ALL OF WHICH TOLD ME THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. ON 07/26/2014 MY 2010 TOYOTA'S TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NOW NEEDS A NEW ONE. THIS OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE IS RIDICULOUS FOR A CAR THAT WAS BUILT IN 2010 AND FOR MYSELF OWNING IT FOR TWO YEARS.
