COROLLA 2010 WITH 4,000 MILES. CAN NOT DRIVE IN STRAIGHT LINE FOR MUCH WITHOUT HAVING TO CORRECT WITH CONSTANT FORCE TO THE RIGHT. CAR KEEPS GOING TO THE LEFT. IN A SECOND I FIND THE CAR GETTING TO THE OTHER LANE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH HE WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN THE CENTER LANE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE LANE. THE TOYOTA DEALER WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO PICK UP HIS VEHICLE AND PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 714.
I HAVE FELT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES OF MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA SINCE SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT IT. THE BRAKES VIBRATE OR PULSATE WITHOUT WARNING. IT SEEMS THAT THE ABS IS ACTIVATED FOR NO REASON. I AM NOT STOPPING SHORT AND THE ROAD HAS NOT BEEN SLIPPERY . I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIMED THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAVE NOTICED WITH THE BRAKES IS THAT THEY SEEM TO GRIND WHEN I AM BRAKING OVER BUMPY SURFACES. IT HAPPENS WITH OUT WARNING, I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL OCCUR. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THE MECHANIC SAID IT IS JUST THE ABS, NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. THE PROBLEM SEEM SIMILAR TO THE PRIUS BRAKE COMPLAINTS. FINALLY, I NOTICE THAT SOMETIMES AS I AM STOPPING THAT THE BRAKES SEEM TO SLIP A LITTLE BUT THEN TAKE HOLD. *TR
STEERING PROBLEMS WITH MY NEW 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CAR SEEMS TO WANDER ON THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. *TR
AS I WAS TURNING OFF A MAIN ROAD TO A STORE PARKING LOT MY VEHICLE BEGAIN TO ACCELERATE AFTER I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE. I WAS GOING ABOUT 10MPH AT THE TIME. I WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY STOP THE CAR AND TURN IT OFF. AT THIS TIME, I WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE IN MY FAMILY TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. I AM AN ENGINEER AND THERE IS NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AFTER I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND I WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD WITH NO GRADE (FLAT ROAD).
WHEN I QUICKLY BRAKED, THE BRAKES SHUDDERED AND MADE A LOUD SCRAPING NOISE. I NOTICED A SLOWER RESPONSE AFTER PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. EVEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THERE IS A NOTICEABLE AMOUNT OF VIBRATION COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. *TR
I RENTED A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA IN FT. LAUDERDALE, FL. CAR HAD ABOUT 5,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING ON I-95, THE CAR SWERVED TO THE LEFT. STEERING WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM DID NOT REPEAT ITSELF ON THE RETURN TRIP LATER THAT DAY. *TR

I HAVE 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA (VIN# [XXX] ) PURCHASED ON OCT 31 2009 FROM SANSONEAUTOMALL, NJ. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING COLUMN INITIALLY WHICH STARTED WITH SOME UNIQUE SOUND, THEN FROM FEB 2010 I WAS SERIOUSLY FACING STEERING FREEZE (WILL GET HARDEN) ONLY 15-20% OF STEERING MOVES WHEN IN 0' SPEED, FOR THIS I HAVE VISITED MY DEALER SERVICE CENTER 3 TIMES BUT THERE IS NO USE. ONLY WITH LOT OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND ARGUMENTS SAYING "WHAT IS THE REASON TO BUY A BRAND NEW CAR TO GET PROBLEMS" I WAS REQUESTING TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM. THEY SIMPLY SAID, THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER MEAN TO COMMUTE ITS UPTO YOU AND IF YOU WANT YOU CALL TOYOTA HEAD QUARTERS FOR THIS. I EVEN SPENT LOT OF TIME IN CALLING MAIN TOYOTA NR BUT SIMPLY I GET VOICE MESSAGE THAT "THERE IS HUGE VOLUME OF CALL WAITING PLEASE WAIT". I REALLY WONDER WHEN I/ANYONE BUY A CAR FROM DEALER AND IF THEY CANNOT RECEIVE ME ASSIST ME PROPERLY "WHERE FROM I GET THE JUSTICE????". RECENTLY I FOUND TWO MORE NEW PROBLEMS THEY ARE: IN A SLOPE ROAD CAR PICKS-UP ACCELERATION AND MAINTAINS SPEED AS IF IT IS CRUISED AND ONCE I APPLY BREAK AFTER A WHILE THE SPEED COMES TO NORMAL POSITION OTHER PROB- FUEL INDICATOR STUCK UP TO FULL LEVEL INDI' EVEN THE FUEL IS LOW. WITH THIS I'M DAY BY DAY GETTING DEPRESSED AS I SPENT QUITE LOT OF SAVINGS (MONEY) ON THE CAR TO AVOID ANY HASSLES BUYING A USED CAR, BUT UNFORTUNATELY ITS A DISASTER TO ME. I OWN A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA, WHICH MY 19 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER DRIVES, WHICH IS INVOLVED IN THE GAS PEDAL RECALL. SHE ALSO DESCRIBES AN STEERING PROBLEM -- DIFFICULTY KEEPING THE CAR FROM VEERING, HAS TO HOLD STEERING WHEEL TIGHT TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT, DESCRIBES IT LIKE CAR IS SLIDING ON ICE. WHEN I ASKED OUR TOYOTA DEALER SERVICE DEPT ADVISOR ABOUT IT HE SAID TO CHECK THE TIRE INFLATION. I NOW SEE THAT THIS IS A COMPLAINT FROM OTHERS. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE FOR HER TO DRIVE! SHE DRIVES IT TO AND FROM COLLEGE ON INTERSTATE 95 AND SAYS THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS, ESPECIALLY 45 AND OVER. *TR
AS I WAS COMING DOWNHILL ON STEEP MT. HELIX AND STEPPED ON THE BRAKES, THE CAR ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF REDUCING THE SPEED, AT THAT MOMENT I COULD CLEARLY HEAR THE ROTATION ACTUALLY INCREASING. I HAD TO PRESS IT HARDER AND CONTROL THE WHEEL TO GET IT TO REDUCE THE SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL IN THE 2 MONTHS I HAVE OWNED THIS 2010 COROLLA. THE NEXT MORNING I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAITED FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR FOR THE CAR TO BE INSPECTED AND THE PEDAL ACCELERATOR RECALL ISSUE FIXED, BUT THE SERVICE STAFF TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKES WERE FINE AND THEY HAD RUN OUT OF THE RECALL PARTS. THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME A TIME TABLE WHEN THE PARTS WERE GOING TO ARRIVE. I ALSO CONTACTED 2 OTHER DEALERSHIPS LATER THAT DAY, AND THE ONLY ANSWER I GOT WAS THAT " WE WERE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT", NOBODY KNEW WHEN SAID PARTS WERE EXPECTED TO ARRIVE. *CN
MY TOYOTA 2010 COROLLA HAS BEEN RECALLED ONCE AND THE TOYOTA DEALER SAID THAT THEY DID SOMETHING ON THE BRAKE, BUT I TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM WITH MY NEW TOYOTA 2010 COROLLA IS THE NOISE SOUND WHENEVER I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. ESPECIALLY WHENEVER I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IT MAKES A BELL SOUND. I REPORTED TO TOYOTA DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY SAID IT IS AIR SOUND. I AM NOT ENGINEER BUT I THINK I KNOW WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AIR SOUND AND BELL SOUND. NOW THE TOYOTA SENT ME AND SAID THAT ANOTHER POSSIBILITY OF RECALL ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I THINK THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM ON THIS CAR. I AM SCARE DRIVING THE NEW CAR. WHAT CAN I DO? I ASKED THE TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT "NOTHING WE CAN DO." IN TERMS OF SAFETY, I REALLY CONCERN THIS IS NOT JUSTMY PROBLEM BUT OUR CITIZEN'S SAFETY PROBLEM. THE WORST THING IS WHEN I DRIVE ON THE HIGH WAY. IT IS LIKE ALMOST 15 YEARS OLD CAR. 1) EVENTS LEADING UP TO FAILURE: I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA ON JAN 1ST 2010. I DROVE THE CAR FOR 1 APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH BEFORE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE/ACCELERATION. ON JAN 30, 2010 I NOTICED THAT THE CAR WOULD SOMETIMES ACCELERATE INITIALLY BEFORE BRAKING WHEN I HIT THE BRAKE. ON FEB 2, 2010 I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION ON INTERSTATE 5 JUST AFTER THE LA JOLLA VILLAGE DR ENTRANCE. TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY, MOVING AT AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 20MPH. WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED, I HIT THE BRAKE AND MY CAR ACCELERATED INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY UNDRIVABLE AND IN THE REPAIR SHOP. *TR
BRAKES UNRESPONSIVE, REQUIRES DEPRESSION OF PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD BEFORE BRAKES BEGIN ENGAGING. OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS. DEALER ADJUSTED BRAKES AND BLED LINES AND THIS ISSUE CONTINUES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I AM USED TO AND I HAVE TO GET USED TO IT. *TR
I HAVE TOYOTA COROLLA 2010, BOUGHT IN AUGUST 2009. I HAD A BRAKE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR EXISTED FROM THE BEGINNING. MY PROBLEM WITH BRAKE WAS FIRST LIKE A SUSPICIOUS CASE AND INITIALLY UNBELIEVABLE FOR ME.THAT'S WHY I WAS DOUBT AT FIRST! I NEVER BELIEVED 2010 COROLLA (I AM OWNER) COULD HAVE THIS PROBLEM. SO I PUT OFF WITH THAT FOR A WHILE. HOWEVER, I REALIZED THE FACT AFTER TRAVELING TO CALIFORNIA TO VISIT MY SISTER AND I RENTED A CAR (VOLKSWAGEN) OVER THERE. WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE CAR, I FOUND OUT HOW SHARP THE BRAKE OF THE CAR WAS. AT THAT TIME I FELT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SHARP AND PROPERLY-WORKING BRAKE AND FAILED BRAKE. OTHER UNUSUAL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COROLLA IS THAT WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN UNEVEN ROADS THE BRAKE WAS GOING DOWN COMPLETELY WITH GENERATION OF SUCH ODD SOUNDS LIKE CRACKING OF TWO PIECES TOGETHER! THEREFORE I REALIZED SOMETHING REALLY WRONG WITH THE BRAKE. THE BRAKE BEING WEAK AND NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I CALLED TOYOTA DEALER AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM. ALSO, IN TRI-MONTHLY SCHEDULES FOR CHECKING THE CAR, I TOLD THEM I DO NOT LIKE THE BRAKE, IT IS NOT GOOD, NOT SHARP, SLOW TO ACTION, BUT THEY TOLD ME WE CHECKED EVERYTHING AND ALL IS FINE! NOTHING DONE TO FIX THE BRAKE FAILURE. UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE NO ANY RECORDS OF THESE CONVERSATIONS TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, JUST I HAVE A RECEIPT THAT SHOWS I BROUGHT THE CAR FOR CHECKING AND THEY CHECKED IT. AFTER THAT, I CONTINUE TO DRIVING, BUT ONCE AGAIN, I REALIZED THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. MY NEXT APPOINTMENT FOR BRINGING THE CAR FOR CHECKING WAS FEBRUARY 7TH ON SUNDAY. I WAS GOING TO TELL THEM I CAN NOT STAND WITH THIS PROBLEM AND I AM CONCERN ABOUT THIS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY I GOT AN ACCIDENT ON FEB 2TH. I WAS IN SLOW LINE, MY SPEED WAS SLOW (NOT MORE THAN 25M/H), HOWEVER, WHEN THE CAR AHEAD OF ME STOPPED, I COULD NOT STOPPED CORRESPONDINGLY DUE TO PRE-EXISTING BRAKE FAILURE. I HIT THE REAR OF THE CAR. FORTUNATELY THE POLICE OFFICERS MENTIONED THE ISSUE OF "BRAKE FAILURE" IN THEIR REPORT. *TR
WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE A STRONG CROSSWIND IS BLOWING THE CAR CAUSING ME TO CORRECT THE FEELING OF THE WIND BLOWING THE CAR. IT CAN ALSO BE COMPARED TO THE TIRES BEING CAUGHT IN A GROOVE IN THE ROAD. WHEN I CORRECT THE FEELING OF BEING PUSHED OR PULLED TO ONE SIDE THE VEHICLE OVER CORRECTS ITSELF CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO SLOW DOWN OR PUT A VERY FIRM TWO HAND GRIP ON THE WHEEL TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. AFTER I TRY TO KEEP THE WHEEL STRAIGHT THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO DO THIS SIDE TO SIDE MOTION FOR A FEW MORE SECONDS ON ITS OWN. *TR
I HAVE A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA THAT I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED AND BEEN DRIVING FOR APPROX 8 WEEKS. IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 2400 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE PURCHASE WHERE I HAVE EXPERIENCED MY BRAKES LOCKING AND RESULTING IN FAILING TO STOP. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, AS WELL AS ALMOST REAR-ENDING A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THIS MOSTLY OCCURS WHEN I GO OVER A SMALL BUMP OR A POT HOLE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER TO CHECK THIS PROBLEM. NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, WITHIN AN HOUR OF LEAVING THE DEALER I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WHERE THE BRAKES LOCKED UP WHEN I WENT OVER A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. I HAVE HEARD ABOUT A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE TOYOTA PRIUS. MY VEHICLE IS A 2010 COROLLA. I HAVE DRIVEN MANY CARS OVER THE AREAS WHERE I DRIVE MY CURRENT VEHICLE WITH NO SIMILAR BRAKING FAILURE ISSUE. UNINTENDED VEERING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT FEELS LIKE A GUST OF WIND HITTING THE CAR ALL THE TIME. *TR
MY CAR WANDERS WHEN I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY, MAKING IT HARD TO STAY IN LANES. *TR
ON 27JAN10, I DROVE HOME AND PARKED THE CAR UNDER THE CARPORT BEFORE AN ICE STORM HIT OKLAHOMA WITH NO ISSUES. ON FRIDAY 29JAN10, I HAD TO MOVE MY CAR TO SHOVEL THE SNOW FROM THE DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I MADE SURE EVERYTHING (DEFROSTER, FAN, ETC) WERE OFF AND TRIED AGAIN. IT WOULDN'T START AND SOUNDED LIKE THE ENGINE WAS ALMOST STARTING BUT NOT QUITE. I TRIED A 3RD TIME AND IT FINALLY STARTED. ALL THREE ATTEMPTS WERE SEVERAL SECONDS LONG. THE DASHBOARD WOULD NOT LIGHT UP AND AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS, IT FINALLY LIT UP BUT THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT AND VSC ICON LIGHT WERE ON AND THE VSC OFF LIGHT WAS FLASHING. I LET IT WARM UP FOR A WHILE AND THE LIGHTS STILL DID NOT GO AWAY. I MOVED THE CAR TO GET THE SNOW OUT OF THE WAY AND PARKED IT IN THE SAME PLACE AGAIN. THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, 1FEB10, I DROVE TO WORK WITH THE SAME 3 LIGHTS LIT UP ON ROADS THAT HAD SOME ICE. I FISHTAILED IN TWO INTERSECTIONS AND I'VE FELT THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL KICK IN ON WET ROADS LAST YEAR BUT IT NEVER KICKED IN THAT DAY SO I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT I DID NOT HAVE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. I DROVE TO WORK AND FIRED OFF AN E-MAIL TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP BUT I COULD NOT COME IN UNTIL WEDNESDAY 3FEB10 AND BY THEN, THE LIGHTS WENT AWAY ON THEIR OWN. THEY DID, HOWEVER, FIND A CODE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A "CAMSHAFT TIMING" CODE OR SOMETHING OF THAT SORT BUT THE ORIGINAL CODE THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT TO COME ON WAS ALREADY KICKED OUT OF MEMORY. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME THIS EVER HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP RESET THE CODE FOR THE CAMSHAFT TIMING CODE BUT NOTHING ELSE WAS DONE EXCEPT RECORD IT IN MY FILE AT MY REQUEST IN CASE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM COME UP WHEN IT'S COLD AND WET. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, THE OKLAHOMA MESONET SITE SAYS THAT THE HIGH/LOW TEMPERATURES ARE: 27JAN10 66F/43F, 28JAN10 46F/28F, AND 29JAN10 25F/19F. WE HAD RAIN AT FIRST, THEN SLEET, THEN SNOW DURING THAT PERIOD. *TR

2010 TOYOTA COROLLA HAS MAJOR ISSUES WITH STEERING. CHANGED TIRES AND ISSUES STILL PERSISTS. I CAN NOT CONTROL THE CAR UNLESS I ALWAYS OVER CORRECT THE STEERING. HARD TO KEEP IN LANES ON THE FREEWAY. ALSO BRAKES SEEMS TO BE SOFT AT TIMES AND NOT ENOUGH POWER TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP. *TR
MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA HAD A FAILED ECM WHICH CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME AND STALL THE ENGINE. IN ADDITION, MY VEHICLE HAD HIGH RPM AND SHIFTING GEAR PROBLEMS AS WELL. THE FAILED ECM ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED BY A SPECIFIC CODE FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY WERE CERTAINLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM HOWEVER TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO RECALL THE ISSUE. I CALLED TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY INFORMED SINCE MY MILEAGE WAS 95,000 AND THE WARRANTY WOULD ONLY COVER UP TO 80,000 MILES. I ENDED UP GETTING THE ECM REPLACED FOR ABOUT $800 AT CARMAX WHICH WAS $700 CHEAPER THAN WHAT TOYOTA WANTED TO CHARGE. I CALLED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS AGAIN TO COMPLAIN AND WAS LEFT WITH NO RESOLUTION. I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY COROLLA TO THE DEALERSHIP ALMOST EVERY WEEK SINCE 01/28/2010 AND EVERY WEEK I COMPLAINED ABOUT HOW THE CAR WAS DRIFTING SIDE TO SIDE AND HOW ON LOW WINDY DAYS I HAVE TO FIGHT THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP IT IN ITS LANE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 65MPH. THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED ACCORDING TO RECALL 10V017000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ACCELERATOR PEDAL). THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,200. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 9,000. I HAD AN ACCIDENT ON JANUARY 27TH 2010 , I HAVE A TOYOTA COROLLA 2010 WITH FAULTY ACCELERATOR PEDAL(RECALLED) MY CAR BOUGHT ON DECEMBER 13 2010 FROM TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. I WAS PULLING MY CAR FROM MY GARAGE AS USUAL VERY SLOW HOLDING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES BUT THIS TIME SUDDENLY MY CAR ACCELERATES SO FAST THAT THE NEXT THING I KNEW I WAS IN GARAGE DOOR OF THE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET. I WAS UNABLE STOP THE CAR IMMEDIATELY EVEN AFTER I PRESSED THE BRAKES VERY HARD. BY THE TIME IT STOPPED THE CAR BROKE THE GARAGE DOOR OF THE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS INJURED. ALONG THE WAY THE CAR BRUSHED OFF THE BUMPER OF ANOTHER PARKED UNATTENDED CAR AND SHEARED OFF THE LICENSE PLATE. LICENSE PLATE WAS DAMAGED, THE BUMPER WAS SCRATCHED. MY CAR WAS DAMAGED AND MY FARMERS INSURANCE PAID FOR REPAIR OF MY CAR AND CAR PARKED ON THE STREET. THE OWNER OF THE HOUSE NEEDED TO USE HER CAR PARKED IN HER GARAGE URGENT AND TOLD ME TO REPAIR GARAGE DOOR IMMEDIATELY. SAME DAY THE NEW GARAGE DOOR WAS INSTALLED BY GARAGE MASTER INC. GARAGE DOOR WAS BROKEN BEYOND REPAIR. I PAID IMMEDIATELY BY CHECK TO THE GARAGE CO. I ALSO PAID FOR DOOR PAINTING. I REPORTED THIS ACCIDENT TO THE DMV. I WAS ABLE TO REACH TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE LINE ONLY IN TWO DAYS ON JANUARY 29. FINALLY I WAS INFORMED THAT MY CAR HAS A FAULTY ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I WAS MAKING A ROUTINE TURN AND LOST CONTROL OF STEERING. IT ONLY HAPPENED THE ONE TIME, POLICE REPORT SAID CAR ROLLED TWO OR THREE TIMES, TOTAL LOSS TO CAR AND INJURY TO DRIVER. I DON'T REMEMBER EXACTLY THE CAUSE OTHER THAN I LOST CONTROL. CAN'T SAY ANY OF THE RECALLS DID OR DID NOT CAUSE THE ACCIDENT. MY PRIMARY COMPLAINT IS THAT I PAID FOR FRONT AND SIDE AIRBAGS, AND NONE DEPLOYED ON A CAR THAT ROLLED TWO OR THREE TIMES. WHY AM I PAYING FOR EQUIPMENT THAT IS NOT EFFECTIVE? IF A CAR ROLLS OVER AT MINIMUM THE SIDE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. I WOULD ALSO THINK THIS WOULD TRIGGER THE OTHER AIR BAGS. WITH ALL THE RECALLS HOW WOULD WE KNOW IF ANY OF THESE CONTRIBUTED TO THE CRASH? I UNDERSTAND THE ROLLOVER RATING APPLIES TO THE STABILITY OF THE CAR, BUT RATING THE SAFETY IN A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT SHOULD ALSO BE RATED. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2010 COROLLA AT TOYOTA CITY, MAMARONECK, NY ON 8/31/09. I FELT VIBRATION IN THE STEERING MECHANISM, A STRANGE FEELING IN THE BRAKES, HEARD A NOISE IN STEERING WHEEL, AND A STRANGE FEELING IN THE WAY THE CAR RODE IMMEDIATELY WHEN TURNING AND BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 10/5/09. I DID NOT BRING IT BACK RIGHT AWAY DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, AND I FELT MAYBE I NEEDED TO GET USED TO THE CAR. I HAD A 2003 COROLLA BEFORE, AND THIS CAR FELT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN ITS RIDE. NOT AS TIGHT A RIDE. ON 10/5/09 THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP ALL DAY AND THEY FOUND IT HAD WARPED ROTORS AND NEEDED NEW BRAKES. THEY TOLD ME THE CAR'S BRAKES MAYBE HAD GOTTEN WET SITTING IN THE RAIN, WHICH CAUSED THE PROBLEM. I FELT THAT WAS VERY ODD ON A BRAND NEW CAR, AND WITH ITS PREDELIVERY INSPECTING THIS WAS MISSED. THEY COVERED THE REPAIR. I DROVE THE CAR AGAIN AND BROUGHT IT BACK ON 10/19/09. THERE WAS STILL THE SAME PROBLEM, WITH A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS TIME THEY BALANCED THE TIRES. AGAIN, NOT CLEAR WHY THEY DID NOT DO THIS BEFORE. I STILL HEARD A NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND FELT THE CAR DID NOT HAVE A TIGHT DRIVING FEEL. THEY TOLD ME TO LIVE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL PROBLEM. IT WAS HOW THE POWER ASSIST SYSTEM WORKED IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE STEERING FEELS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM MY 2003 TOYOTA COROLLA. I HAVE FELT THE BRAKES DO NOT RESPOND WELL, AND PULSATE ON ENGAGEMENT, AND I FEEL THE CAR STILL MOVES FORWARD, WHEN TRYING TO STOP. ON 1/23/10 I HIT A DEER. I LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE THERE A LOT OF DEER AND FOR 18 YEARS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP AND NEVER HIT ONE. NOT SURE WHAT WENT WRONG HERE. THE BRAKES AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDALS WERE LOCATED SO CLOSE TO ONE ANOTHER THAT THE CONTACTS FOOT WOULD GET STUCK BETWEEN THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS WHEN SLOWING DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
