EACH TIME, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL
"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT IN MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA EXITING A MAJOR INTERSTATE ON 07/07/2017. THE OFF RAMP HAD A VERY SHARP CURVE WHERE I LOST CONTROL (POSSIBLY A FAILURE IN THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM?) AND WAS TRAVELING AT AROUND 45MPH. I WENT INTO A SPIN AND THE LEFT REAR OF MY CAR HIT THE GUARDRAIL, SPINNING OUT STILL MY CAR THEN HIT THE GUARDRAIL HEAD-ON CAUSING THE FRONT END TO COLLAPSE INTO THE MOTOR CAVITY. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING BRUISING TO MY SHOULDER AND ABDOMEN AREAS. MY NECK AND BACK WERE INJURED CAUSING ME TO BE IMMOBILE FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I HAVE HAD CAT-SCANS AND MRI'S TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT MY INJURIES ARE. I HAVE TO GO TO PAIN MANAGEMENT TO DEAL WITH THE EVERYDAY PAIN AND MY LIFE HAS BEEN AFFECTED GREATLY. I INFORMED TOYOTA ABOUT THE AIRBAGS AND THEY SEEMED VERY CONCERNED. THE ARE INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE AND SENT OUT A COMPANY CALLED BOSCH TO DOWNLOAD INFORMATION FROM THE CDR BOX. I AM STILL WAITING ON TOYOTA'S ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM. I WAS NEVER AWARE OF THIS RECALL AS I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR PRE-OWNED FROM A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP OCTOBER OF 2015. I ALSO REPORTED THE AIRBAG LIGHTS GOING OFF AND ON ALONG WITH OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS TO TWO DIFFERENT TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS ALONG WITH ALLSTATE INSURANCE COMPANY, MY PROVIDER.
WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET NAMED HAMNER THIS AFTERNOON ON A WARM DAY IN THE CITY OF NORCO WITH CLEAR SKIES TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH MY 2010 COROLLA DID NOT STOP AT A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 15 FEET WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THAT CAUSED ME TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE WHICH FELT LIKE THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WHERE THE BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE BUT RATHER MADE A PULSATING MOVEMENT AGAINST MY ROTORS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO KEEP MOVING AND INEVITABLY I COULD NOT STOP MY VEHICLE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE BROUGHT THIS ISSUE UP TO TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AT NUMEROUS DEALERS IN THE PAST YEARS AND I WAS GIVEN NO SOLUTIONS. THE EXPLANATION AFTER SHOWING THE TECHNICIANS WAS THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM. THIS BRAKE ISSUE CAUSED ME TO NOT HAVE BRAKING SYSTEM POWER TO SAFELY COME TO A STOP PRIOR TO THE COLLISION TODAY. I BELIEVE THAT TOYOTA IS LIABLE FOR THE FAILURE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE DAMAGE CREATED TODAY TO NOT ONLY MY VEHICLE BUT ALSO TO THE VEHICLE TO WHICH THIS ACCIDENT TODAY INVOLVED INCLUDING ANY KNOWN OR UNKNOWN INJURIES INCURRED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

RE: I HAVEN'T FOLLOWED UP ON RCMN-10V017-5275 AS I HADN'T NOTICED A PROBLEM LIVING IN AN AREA WITH LEVEL STREETS. HOWEVER, WHEN TRYING TO PARK OR LEAVE A PARKING SPACE ON AN INCLINE OR DECLINE IT IS A PROBLEM. WHEN MOVING IN OR OUT OF A PARKING, I NOTICED THAT MY GAS PEDAL IS VERY SENSITIVE. IT LURCHES MY CAR QUICKLY FORWARD. THIS IS NOT ABOUT MY PARKING TECHNIQUE. SOMEONE ELSE FAMILIAR WITH PARKING ON THESE STREETS IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE CAR'S ACCELERATION. IS THIS ISSUE RELATED TO NEEDING A REMEDY TO THE ABOVE RECALL NOTICE. IF YES, CAN I GET THIS FIXED FOR FREE EVEN THOUGH MY NOTICE HAS EXPIRED? WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST.

TAKATA REVALL, I WENT ON MY OWN LAST YEAR AFTER CONTACTING TOYOTAS 800#, APPT SET UP AND SOENT ALL DAY FOR THEM TO SAY I NEED A NEW AIRBAG AND THEY HAVE NONE! MIDSING A FAY OF WORK. TOYOTA ON HYLAN BLVD STATEN ISLAND,NY SHOULD HAVE THEM IN STOCK BEFORE JUST PUTT8NG MY CAR BACK ON THE RAOD WITHOUT REPAIRING IT.

THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE MINOR AUTO BODY REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BRUISING AND SWELLING TO THE LEG AND KNEE BUT DID NOT RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED WITH CORAOPOLIS POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL - I CALLED THE CLAREMONT, CA TOYOTA LOCATION (601 AUTO CENTER DR, CLAREMONT, CA 91711) ON MONDAY JUNE 19, 2017 AT 6:45 PM TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY AIRBAG DUE TO THE TAKATA RECALL. THE SERVICE CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY PARTS AVAILABLE AND WOULD CALL ME ONCE THEY GET SOMETHING. SINCE THIS IS A MAJOR RECALL AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF CARS, ALL TOYOTA SERVICE DEALERSHIPS SHOULD HAVE AMPLE OF AIRBAGS ON STOCK TO REMEDY THIS RECALL. SINCE THIS IS NATIONWIDE, ALL TOYOTAS SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HAVING SUFFICIENT AIRBAGS AT ALL TIMES. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I JUST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT TODAY ( JUNE 21, 2017 ) AND I HEARD A POP IN MY AIRBAG. LUCKILY, THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND NO ONE WAS INJURED. TOYOTA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS RECALL AND HAVE SUFFICIENT AIRBAGS FOR ALL YEAR, MAKE AND MODELS.

AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, AN AUDIBLE CHIME WAS HEARD, AND THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING SYSTEM ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE AIR BAG WARNING SYSTEM UNTIL AFTER THE RECALL REMEDY WAS COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO GOSCH TOYOTA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A PASSENGER SEAT AND DRIVER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR FAILURE. THE SENSORS NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 231,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE ISSUE; HOWEVER, THERE WERE OTHER OPEN RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND ASSISTED THE CONTACT WITH MAKING A REPAIR APPOINTMENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,444.

A VIN SEARCH LOCATED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V340000 (AIR BAGS), BUT THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE DID NOT RECEIVE THE RECALL NOTICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL- IT'S BEEN ABOUT A YEAR AND WE AREN'T ABLE TO USE OUR FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT DUE TO THE RECALL.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. HOWEVER, TWO DAYS LATER, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED PAIN IN THE NECK. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO SERVECO AUTO IN WAITAHU, HAWAII WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT FOR INVESTIGATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 155,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVE, I MADE A SPEED CHANGE USING THE STEERING COLUMN LEVER WHEN THE ENGINE WENT TO 6,000 RPM IN FULL ACCELERATION. MY SPEED WAS ABOUT 65 ON A RURAL ROAD PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. I TAPPED THE ACCELERATOR WITH NO CHANGE, THEN THE BRAKE WHICH CANCELLED THE UNCOMMANDED ACCELERATION.
TAKATA RECALL. SERVCO TOYOTA IN HAWAII TOLD ME ON MAY 17, 2017, "I APOLOGIZE, THE PART HAS NOT COME IN" WHEN I ASKED TO GET MY DANGEROUS AIRBAG REPLACED. THEY DID NOT OFFER A LOANER CAR OR RENTAL CAR. SO I AM LEFT WITH THE OPTION OF DRIVING A DANGEROUS CAR OR PARKING IT UNTIL THE PARTS ARRIVE. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM INJURED OR GET KILLED WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR?
TAKATA RECALL. IT'S BEEN AT LEAST 9 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND I STILL HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET MY AIRBAG REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL- THE RECALL DATE WAS MAY 23,2016. WHEN WILL A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM OCCUR? WE ARE ALMOST 1 YEAR OUT.
TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING VERY HARD INTO SECOND GEAR, PARTICULARLY WHEN THE CAR IS WARM AND HAS BEEN RUNNING ABOUT 20 MINUTES. THE SHOP REPORTED PRESSURE READINGS INSIDE OF TRANSMISSION ARE HIGH AND RECOMMENDED A FULL REPLACEMENT.
TAKATA RECALL MY RECALL WAS ISSUE NEARLY A YEAR AGO IN MAY 23, 2016. THIS SEEMS LIKE A VERY LONG TIME TO DEAL WITH WHAT IS DESCRIBED AS A SAFETY HAZARD.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR YESTERDAY AND AS I WENT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE SO I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN AND IT WENT REAL SLOW. THEN THE CAR JERKED AND BEGAN TO SMOKE REALLY BAD SO I PULLED OVER AND OPEN THE HOOD AND FLAMES BEGAN TO SHOOT OUT.
WE BELIEVE SOMETHING PUNCTURED THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL OF THE CAR WHEN DRIVEN DOWN A STREET AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WHEN RELEASED DID NOT STOP THE CAR. THE CAR SKID INTO PARKED CARS AND AIR BAG WAS NOT DEFLATED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SERVICED UNDER THE AIRBAG RECALL. PASSENGER SIDEVIEW MIRROR, RIGHT BODY OF CAR IS DAMAGED, SIDE AND PORTION OF FRONT AND BACK BUMPERS BECAME DAMAGED. NO OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES MADE. THE DAMAGED CAR SITS IN OUR DRIVEWAY SOON TO BE TOWED AND SOLD FOR PARTS.

IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND FRUSTRATING THAT NOBODY CAN USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS WARRANTED!

THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A YEAR WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS. CAR WOULD START THEN DRIVING AT 10MPH THE CAR STALLS AND THE DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATE THE DASHBOARD. PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART WITH NO PROBLEM BUT IF SOMEBODY WAS BEHIND ME IT WOULD'VE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. LAST WEEK CAR DID THE SAME THING EXCEPT I THE CAR WAS IN MOTION TOWARDS AN INTERSECTION FROM IDLE AND HAD TO QUICKLY PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART IT AND MOVE IT BEFORE I WOULD'VE BEEN INVOLVED IN A DEADLY ACCIDENT.
TAKATA RECALL MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THIS SPRING THAT THE RECALL SERVICING PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER AT THE EARLIEST.
CAR IS SPUTTERING AND HESITATES WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, IT DOES IT INTERMITTENTLY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I TOOK IT TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND CALLED HEADQUARTERS AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THIS MAJOR PROBLEM. THEY ARE OVERLOOKING THE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH TOYOTA CARS AND THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
TAKATA RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I BOUGHT MY TOYOTA IN 2010 BRAND NEW. I'M HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT AROUND WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH THESE DANGEROUS AIRBAGS. SINCE THE AIRBAG COMPANY HAS BEEN FINED, THE PEOPLE SHOULD GET THIS MONEY FOR A RENTAL CAR OR REPLACEMENT CAR. SINCE WE CAN'T SELL THE CAR WE HAVE TO PUT OUR FAMILY IN THIS DANGEROUS CAR EVERY DAY. IS TOYOTA JUST WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO GET KILLED OR SERIOUSLY HURT? JUST LIKE VW THEY HAD TO BUY BACK THE CARS AND THEY WEREN'T EVEN A DANGER. BUT WE ARE DRIVING IN THESE DANGEROUS CARS EVERY DAY.
UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH OF THE TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT ONE OR MORE OF MY AIRBAGS MAY EJECT METAL FRAGMENTS DURING A COLLISION. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND WOULD REQUEST A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THIS HAS BEEN SATISFACTORILY REMEDIED.

I HAVE VISITED IN PERSON AND PHONED MANY TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA AND SURROUNDING AREAS TO GET REPAIRS COMPLETED. ALL DEALERSHIPS TELL ME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE AIRBAG INFLATOR IN STOCK AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY RECEIVE ANY. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AS WELL AS ANY PASSENGERS . PLEASE HELP.
