I WAS HIT BY A BIG RIG TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 20MPH WHILE STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY, THE BIG RIGS IMPACT FORCED ME INTO THE BACK OF AN F150XL, CAUSING SIGNIFCANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START-UP DUE TO EXCESSIVE FUEL IN THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WERE WET FROM THE FUEL WHICH PRESENTED A HAZARDOUS CONDITION TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRYAN EASLER TOYOTA (1409 SPARTANBURG HWY, HENDERSONVILLE, NC 28793, (808) 693-7261) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE MECHANIC REMOVED AND CLEANED THE SPARK PLUG TIPS AFTER EACH FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT CLEANING THE SPARK PLUGS FAILED TO FIX THE FAILURE. REPEATS 54,321 AND 72,889. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,349. *LN*DT CONSUMER STATED HE HAD 3 IDENTICAL FAILURES.*JB *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES PER HOUR WHEN I RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL THE VEHICLE CONTINUES ACCELERATED FOR ABOUT ONE MINUTE AND THEN I NOTICED THAT THE RPM AND THE ENGINE START TO REDUCE SPEED. *TR
3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, MICE STARTING COMING INTO THE AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM. I HAVE TRIED TO KEEP THEM OUT HOWEVER THE DESIGN FLAW IN THE CABIN AIR INTAKE WILL NOT PREVENT THEM FROM COMING IN. THERE IS A HUGE OPENING WHERE THEY CONSTANTLY COME IN. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS BETWEEN DISEASES AND THREAT OF WIRES BEING CHEWED. WE ALSO HAD A TOYOTA TUNDRA THAT HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. MY HUSBAND TRADED IT IN AND HAS A FORD NOW AND DOES NOT HAVE A PROBLEM AT ALL WITH MICE.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA FROM ENTERPRISE RENTAL. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH AND MOVING TO THE NEXT LANE, THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF WATER AS SHE DEPRESS THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE STARTED SPINNING AROUND CAUSING HER TO CRASH INTO THE RETAINER WALL. THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WAS BADLY DAMAGED AND ALL THE AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE DEPLOYED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND THE POLICE WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE RENTAL VEHICLE SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,689.
GROSS SAFETY IGNORANCE BY TOYOTA. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE DRIVER BEHIND ME STRUCK ME. PROBLEM STARTED THE NEXT DAY AFTER THE SALE TRANSACTION. THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLIANT WITH NHTSA. ALL EXHIBITS ON THE FILE. I ASKED OTHER DEALERSHIPS TO FIX THE VEHICLE; THEY REFUSED TO PERFORM NEITHER TEST NOR INSPECTION DUE TO MANUFACTURE DEFECTS. I WAS SENT BACK TO THE TOYOTA CASE MANGERS WHO IGNORES THE SAFETY AND REFUSES TO PROVIDE RESOLUTIONS. AUDIO RECORDING ON THE FILE. I NOTIFIED THE SERVICER AND THE MANUFACTURE REP WHICH WAS THE TOYOTA CASE MANAGER ABOUT THE ONGOING PROBLEM. I SENT CERTIFIED REGISTERED LETTERS. BOTHE, THE MANUFACTURE REP AND THE SERVICER GAVE VERBAL GUARANTEES WHICH WERE BROKEN. THEY ARE FLIP-FLOPPING, THEIR VERBAL GUARANTEES AND PROMISES WERE BROKEN OVER AND OVER. THE VEHICLE HAS ONGOING PROBLEMS OCCURRING DAILY BUT IT IS COMPLETELY RANDOM. THE MANUFACTURE REP REFUSED TO INSTALL A CHAT RECORDER AND MONITORS THE VEHICLE SYMPTOMS, HE FUSES TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON THE ALLOWABLE TEMPERATURE BREAKS ROTOR DISK; EXCESSIVE BREAK PADS DUST BUILDUP, THE SERVICER REFUSES FURTHER TEST THE VEHICLE. THE SHORT TEST DRIVE WHICH THE SERVICER USES TO TEST THE VEHICLE IS INSUFFICIENT. TESTS ARE DURING THE RUSH HOUR AND SHORT DRIVEN DISTANCES. I OFFER TO PAY FOR THE TECHNICIAN TIME AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE OUTSIDE THE RUSH HOUR AND LONGER DISTANCE BUT IT WAS REJECTED AS WELL. MY COMPLAINT TO NHTSA HASNT BROUGHT TOYOTAS ATTENTION EITHER.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT AIR NEEDED TO BE ADDED TO THE TIRES. THE CONTACT ADDED AIR TO THE TIRES HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. UPDATED 1/24/13 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEERING ALSO HAD A DEFECT. 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA: HAVE HAD CAR ALIGNED 2 TIMES DUE TO EXCESSIVE PULLING TO THE RIGHT, THEREFORE TIRES HAVE WORN UNEVENLY AND NOW NEED TO BE REPLACED AT 17,000 MILES. THE EDGES OF THE TIRES WORE OUT BEFORE 11,000 MILES. I ADDRESSED THE ISSUE TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO AT FIRST TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY FOR THE ALIGNMENT; THEN I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE ALIGNED UNDER WARRANTY. IT HAD TO BE ALIGNED A SCOND TIME DUE TO CONTINUOUS PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS I HAVE TO PAY FOR TIRES OUT-OF-POCKET, EVEN THOUGH I THINK TOYOTA SHOULD AT LEAST PRO-RATE A NEW SET OF TIRES. SECOND ISSUE IS THE ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH AND UNEVENLY. IT IDLES ROUGH, AND SINCE I PAID TO HAVE THE INJECTORS CLEANED, IT GETS WORSE GAS MILEAGE THAN EVER. I NOW HAVE THE CAR IN THE DEALERSHIP SHOP AGAIN TO FIX THE IDLE. THEY JUST CALLED AND SAID THE Y HAD TO REPLACE AND RESET THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. I EXPECTED THE CAR TO PERFORM BETTER AND TIRES TO LAST MORE THAN A YEAR, AS I PURCHASED THE CAR DEC. 2012. *TR
REAR SEAT BELTS MUST CROSSOVER EACH OTHER TO BUCKLE. THIS INVOLVES THE REAR SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER AND THE MIDDLE REAR SEAT. TOYOTA WILL NOT REPAIR, OR ADMIT IT IS A DEFECT. ALSO LOCAL DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT TO CORPORATE OFFICES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH THE ENGINE RPMS DECREASED BY 300 AND BRAKING DECREASED NOTICEABLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN REPAIR UNDER NHTSA ITEM NUMBER: 10042602 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE) WHICH INCLUDED RE-FLASHING THE COMPUTER. THE FIRST ACCIDENT WAS IN JUNE 29 2012, WHILE I WAS DRIVING 10 MILES AN HOUR (FOR TRANSIT) THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED AND I TRY TO STOP AS WELL BUT MY CAR DIDN'T STOP (INCREASE ITS SPEED) AND I CRASHED IN THE BACK OF THE CAR (I REMAIN SURPRISED, DID NOT KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED). THE SECOND ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON DECEMBER THE 28TH OF 2012, AROUND 2:00 PM, I WAS IN MY WAY TO NEW JERSEY, 2 MILES AWAY FROM THE WASHINGTON BRIDGE; THERE WAS A TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS NOT MOVING AND PUSHING THE BRAKES BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE STARTED GOING FORWARD SO I USED THE HAND BRAKE TRYING TO STOP IT; BUT MY CAR STILL CRASH THE OTHER CAR ON THE BACK. I BOUGHT THIS CAR ZERO MILES FROM YOUR DEALER (HUDSON TOYOTA) AND I AM VERY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED! THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TO ME IF THE CAR WOULD BE IN PERFECT CONDITIONS!!, I AM ALWAYS WORRY DRIVING IT, I DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN!! I RECENTLY TOOK A TRIP FROM THE SOUTH TO THE MID WEST. THE ROADS ARE MUCH STRAIGHTER AND THE SPEED LIMIT IS HIGHER. I HAD BEEN NOTICING THAT THE CAR DRIFTS BACK AND FORTH ON THE HIGHWAY BUT HADN'T PAID IT MUCH ATTENTION UNTIL WE WENT NORTH. WHILE DOING 70-75MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAYS THAT ARE STRAIGHT FOREVER THE CAR WAS INCREDIBLY HARD TO KEEP STRAIGHT. WHEN I GOT HOME IT WAS DUE FOR REGULAR SERVICE AND I ADDRESSED MY CONCERN WITH THE STEERING. THEY "DID" AN ALIGNMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP, AFTER I PICKED UP MY CAR AND TOOK IT ON THE HIGHWAY 24 HRS LATER I NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT STRAIGHT. THE "T" TOYOTA SYMBOL ON THE WHEEL HAD TO BE SLANTED TO THE LEFT IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO DRIVE STRAIGHT. IF YOU HELD THE WHEEL STRAIGHT THE CAR WAS DRIVING OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT! THE DRIFTING SIDE TO SIDE WAS WORSE THAN EVER!!!!! I HAVE SINCE TAKEN MY COROLLA TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP ABOUT 5 TIMES NOW (ALTHOUGH THEY HAVEN'T PROPERLY RECORDED THAT IN THE COMPUTER, THEY SHOW ITS ONLY BEEN ABOUT 3), TAKEN THE LEAD SERVICE TECH AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP FOR A RIDE IN MY CAR AND THEY COMPLETELY AGREED WITH ME THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS OFF, NOTICEABLY! THEY HELD MY CAR FOR A WEEK AND REPLACED THE "STEERING COMPUTER" AND SAID THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY DROVE IT AFTER IT WAS "FIXED" AND RETURNED THE CAR TO ME. I THEN DROVE IT DOWN THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 30 MIN LATER AND IT IS STILL FREAKING CROOKED!!!!!! TOYOTA CORP AND THE PEOPLE AT THE DEALERSHIP ARE MAKING ME FEEL LIKE I'M CRAZY AND THAT ITS NORMAL! THIS IS NOT NORMAL! IT WAS NOT CROOKED BEFORE I TOOK IT IN AND IT IS NOT FIXED!! THERE IS A LEMON LAW IN THIS STATE! THIS IS MY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR AND FIRST TOYOTA AND THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A CAR AND WILL NOT BUY ONE AGAIN! UNBELIEVABLE! *TR
I PULLED OUT AT A GREEN LIGHT AND A PICKUP TRUCK RAN A RED LIGHT HIT MY CAR IN DRIVER DOOR AT 50MPH AND NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ME AND MY WIFE BOTH HAD INJURIES. *TR

NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING LOT AND WAS AWAITING EXAMINATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE EXAMINING THE VEHICLE THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT LATCHES WERE TANGLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGN IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE REAR SEAT BELT LATCHES WOULD CROSS ONE ANOTHER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY, A VEHICLE STRUCK THE TOYOTA COROLLA AUTOMOBILE ON THE FRONT, PASSENGER SIDE. THIS COLLISION CAUSED THE COROLLA TO THEN STRIKE A MEDIAN WALL. AFTER THE SECOND IMPACT, THE COROLLA FLIPPED AT LEAST TWO (2) TIMES. THE AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED. THE ENTIRE FRONT SIDE WAS DAMAGED IN THIS ACCIDENT. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS CAR AS A NEW VEHICLE. EVER SINCE I HAVE HAD IT THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ACCELERATION ISSUE TO WHERE IT DOES NOT SLOW DOWN FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AFTER RELEASING YOUR FOOT FROM THE GAS. IT ACCELERATES OFTEN TO WHERE YOU HAVE TO APPLY THE BRAKES FIRMLY TO WHERE THE ANTI LOCK THEN KICKS IN. DURING SERVICING IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO SAY THAT THERE IS NOT AN ISSUE. I HAVE HAD OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS OPERATE MY VEHICLE TO VERIFY THAT THIS ISSUE IS IN FACT AN ISSUE AND THEY EXPERIENCED THE SAME SITUATION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WILL END UP COSTING SOMEONE THEIR LIFE DUE TO THE MANUFACTURERS DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. *TR
UPDATE!. ON 11/25/11 I WROTE: NOV 25, 2011 - THE VILLAGES, FL - VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL THIS IS A NEW CAR PURCHASE (W/200 MI). AT 60-75 MPH (AND NOTICEABLE ALSO AT SLOWER SPEEDS ON OTHER ROADS) ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR'S STEERING WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD, IT CANNOT STAY ON A STRAIGHT LINE EVEN IF THE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT MOVED. T ---------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 3/2/12 - I HAVE AN UPDATE ON THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM FOR ME IS NOT LOOSENESS OR WANDERING FROM LOOSENESS IT'S AN OVERLY TIGHT STEERING SITUATION CAUSING TRACKING FLUCTUATIONS... MOST CARS HAVE SOME SLACK OR 'LOOSENESS' WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT AT HIGHER SPEEDS... FOR SAFETY. HUMANS BREATHE AND MOVE THEIR BODIES AND HEADS ALL THE TIME. THIS ALL TRANSLATES TO SMALL NATURAL MOVEMENTS IN THE ARMS AND HANDS. IF THE STEERING AT HIGHER SPEEDS IS SO TIGHT THAT THE LEAST MOVEMENT ON THE STEERING TRANSLATES TO WHEEL MOVEMENT (IMAGINE A GO CART AT 75 MPH) , THEN WHILE IT'S GREAT AT 30-45MPH (FOR TIGHT RESPONSIVE STEERING) - IT MAKES FOR AN UNMANAGEABLE STRUGGLE AT HIGHER SPEEDS TO CONTROL THE STEERING. THE CAR STEERING IS REACTING TO THE SMALLEST MOVEMENTS... THINK... FLYING A SLOWER CESSNA 172 WHERE LARGE STEERING MOVEMENTS CAUSE SLOW TURNS, YET IN A MILITARY JET A MINUTE MOVEMENT OF THE STICK CAUSES TIGHT RADICAL CHANGES. MOST HUMANS ARE NOT JET PILOTS AND WE NEED SOME 'SLACK' AT HIGH SPEEDS...OTHERWISE OVER-CORRECTIONS COULD CAUSE STEERING OSCILLATION AND LOSS OF CONTROL (CRASH). PERHAPS TOYOTA COUNTERED THE 'LOOSENESS' COMPLAINTS OF 2009/2010 WITH OVERLY TIGHT STEERING IN 2011. BUT TOYOTA GUYS, DO YOU ACTUALLY DRIVE YOUR CARS? NO REAL ENGINEER WOULD CALL THE STEERING ACCEPTABLE. IT'S REALLY A SERIOUS PROBLEM. JUST COPY WHAT BMW DOES. THEIR STEERING IS TIGHT, NATURAL AND YET TOTALLY CONTROLLABLE. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA WITH 45K MILES. FOR THE PAST MONTH WHEN TRAVELING BETWEEN 40 AND 70 MPH THE CAR LOOSES POWER. THE TACHOMETER WILL GO DOWN 200 TO 300 RPMS IN A MATTER OF A FEW SECONDS. IT IS LIKE THE ENGINE IS FLUTTERING THEN AFTER 10 TO 30 SECONDS POWER RETURNS AND THE RMPS RETURN TO THE PREVIOUS SETTING. THIS LOSS OF POWER MAKES THE VEHICLE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I STARTED LOOKING AT COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE-SOME FOUND THE PROBLEM TO BE IN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I CHANGED THE PEDAL BUT IT DID NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER MORE RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A AN OFFICIAL SERVICE BULLETIN REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE WONDERS IN THE LANE AT 70 MPH AND WHEN THE WIND IS BLOWING IT IS VERY HARD TO KEEP IN THE LANE. THIS VEHICLE WOULD BE VERY UNSAFE IN THE RAIN. I DRIVE VEHICLES FOR A LIVING AND THIS IS THE WORSE DRIVING VEHICLE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. TEST DRIVES UNDER 55 MPH WILL NOT REVEAL THE PROBLEM. FOLLOWING A TRACTOR TRAILER ON THE INTERSTATE WILL FEEL LIKE SOMEONE IS SHAKING YOU IN YOUR SEAT. SOME TURBULENCE ARE EXPECTED BUT THIS IS OVERWHELMING. BEING PUSHED FROM CENTER LINE TO SIDE LINE WILL MAKE YOU NERVOUS TRYING TO HANG ON. IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON TAKING A TRIP, BE PREPARED TO FIGHT THE STEERING WHEEL THE ENTIRE TIME. TOYOTA SAYS THIS IS FACTORY SPECS AND THERE IS NOT CORRECTION NEEDED. SHOP FOREMAN AT TOYOTA TOLD ME IT IS A BIG PROBLEM BUT TOYOTA SAYS IT IS FACTORY SPECS SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I HAVE OWNED A TOYOTA SINCE 1974 AND HAVE NEVER HAD ONE THAT DROVE THIS WAY. PROBLEMS ARE ON THE WAY WITH THIS STEERING I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT. FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN SHOULD NOT TAKE THEM ON VACATION IN THIS VEHICLE. I DROVE ANOTHER ONE THAT WAS A MIRROR IMAGE OF THIS ONE AND IT DID THE SAME THING. THIS IS A TOYOTA COROLLA LE EDITION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WAS ROUGH AND UNSTABLE WHEN TRAVELING AT 35 MPH OR HIGHER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
SINCE LEASING THIS BRAND NEW 2011 COROLLA, I NOTICED THAT AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 40MPH AND 60MPH THE CAR WOULD FEEL AS IF IT WAS DECELERATING, AKIN TO BEING BUFFETED BY STRONG HEADWINDS, ALTHOUGH THE SPEED DID NOT REFLECT IT. I DRIVE MOSTLY AROUND A CITY THAT HAS MANY ZONES WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 40MPH, SO I WAS EXPERIENCING THIS PHENOMENON A LOT. BY THE TIME I HAD 250 MILES ON THE CAR, I KNEW THAT IT WAS NOT JUST A QUIRK, AND I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE PERSON WHO BOOKED ME IN FOR SERVICE SAID THAT HE HAD NEVER HEARD ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT I HAD DONE SOME RESEARCH AND SAW THAT MANY 2011 COROLLA OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. I TOLD HIM TO CHECK ONLINE. I ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT APPALLING MILEAGE - I WAS AVERAGING LESS THAN 20MPG - AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD GET THEIR TECHNICIANS TO FOCUS ON THE TWO ISSUES. WITHIN 30 MINUTES HE WAS BACK TO SAY THAT NOT ONLY HAD HE FOUND THE DECELERATION ISSUE ONLINE, HE FOUND IT ON TOYOTA'S OWN SERVICE WEBSITE, AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE COMPANY HAD ISSUED AN OFFICIAL SERVICE BULLETIN. IT IS NOT SHOWING THAT ONE WAS ISSUED ON THIS SITE, BUT I HAVE SEEN IT, AND THE DEALERSHIP WERE ABLE TO REPROGRAM THE CAR'S COMPUTER (THEY CALLED IT A "FLASH"). THE CONCLUSION WAS THAT THE POOR GAS MILEAGE WAS BEING CAUSED BY THE MISTIMING, AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE, CALL YOUR DEALERSHIP AND DEMAND THAT THEY FIND THE BULLETIN ON TOYOTA'S OWN SITE. IT'S THERE! AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FROM 65-80 MPH THIS VEHICLE TAKES CONSTANT EFFORT TO KEEP IN A STRAIGHT LINE, IT FEELS AS IF YOU ARE ALWAYS DRIVING ON A WINDY DAY EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT. THE STEERING IN TOO SENSITIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND EVEN THE SMALLEST MOVEMENTS CAUSE THE CAR TO MOVE ALOT. I NOTIFIED THE DEALER OF THIS WITHIN A WEEK OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND WOULD NOT EVEN TAKE A LOOK AT IT. I NOTIFIED TOYOTA WITH WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE AND GOT NOT ANSWER FROM THEM EITHER, VERY FRUSTRATING ON A BRAND NEW CAR. I WISH I WOULD HAVE TEST DROVE IT ON THE INTERSTATE BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. HAVE TO FIRMLY PRESS BRAKE PEDAL TO DISENGAGE. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR SERVICE. TOYOTA SERVICING DEALER ADVISED ME THAT THE CARE WAS OPERATING PROPERLY AND THAT THIS WAS A DESIGNED SAFETY FEATURE. *TR
