My driver side door caught on fire and was completely destroyed to include all associated wiring. Toyota had my contact information but never contacted me about any of the recalls.

Other people keep using my Bluetooth from my Toyota RAV4 2007. I don't even use it anymore. I found out because my android vehicle app keeps activating. Also, I live in a apartment complex, and notice when I look out my window, people walk by and slow down and stop right in front of my car and start messing with their phone. It appears they are hacking into the Bluetooth. I've also had much financial theft from my bank account.. including I paid for my auto insurance months ago, now I go on the AZ MDV and it's saying that my car is not insured! I'm a domestic violence victim..Its causing safety issues for me..I'm really upset. Also, your website is saying it's September 8, 2025. My phone is saying it's September 7th 2025. I don't know what to do!?!? Someone is causing me a lot of mental anquish. I know I have Recalls on this car, it says I have nun on the Toyota site yet in other places it says I have Recalls. I just feel extremely unsafe and angry that Toyota never sends me anything about my car.
Sub frame is rusted to the point of not being able to pass state inspection requirements.
Unknown I just strongly feel like I'm not getting the information on purpose..it has caused me much stress. I'm really upset. I've not once received any communication from you since I bought this vehicle 2nd hand. In 2018.. And to make matters worse, I've had my vehicle plates stolen 3 separate times including my cell phone number ( had to change it) and my driver license number was changed. I'm not having any help from my state DMV. Please help me.

Subframe rusted in half, the only way I found it was when we put new shocks on it. It peeled off about 1/2 the tread on a brand new tire. Dangerous, if passengers side rear tire would've broke loose it would throw rear of car into oncoming traffic!
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the sound was coming from the tires. The contact was informed that no issues were found. I own a 2007 Toyota Rav-4 with 155k miles. I had bought the vehicle used from a licensed Toyota dealership about 3 years ago and have been diligent about conducting the routine scheduled maintenance. The vehicle had no known recalls. I was driving about 25mph when I started to smell smoke. The drivers side door caught on fire while the vehicle was in motion. There were literally flames coming out of area with the buttons used to control the windows. I immediately pulled the vehicle over and the car ended up having to be towed. On Google, Toyota has had several other incidents where this exact same recall issue happened and the vehicle caught on fire. I called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and the Toyota Corporate as well. I smoke to a representative on a Wednesday and they let me know my case number and that someone would be in touch to follow-up within 48 hours. However, it has been 6 days and I haven’t received any update.
Rear subframe rusted through
Last year around December the passenger side airbag started separating from the cover it is in. I contacted toyota told was nit in recall list . Also called dealer they said to contact toyota. You can pop it back in but afraid airbag may explode open
I took my car in to address the panel warning symbols. Was told that my unibody style was no longer safe to drive due to severe rust. Was informed that the car could possibly fall apart.
The rear sub frame broke/ rusted, needing to be replaced unable to drive car safely
I was driving and the engine caught on fire. Thank God for people telling me that my car was having flames coming from under my car. By the time I pull over flames were coming out of my hood
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated while installing new tires on the vehicle, the mechanic stated that the wheel bearings fractured and that both front axles were rusted. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics, and it was confirmed that the wheel bearings were fractured and that the front axles were rusted. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted, and the contact left a message. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 179,000.
while driving down the big bear mountain, the vehicle lost power steering i could not turn the wheel and hit the railing, thank god i didn't hit another car. The battery light was flashing steering locked up other dash lights came on. The mechanic could not give me any answers, Toyota says there is no recall on this and after reading other complaints about the 2007 Toyota RAV 4 i am shocked that the dealership has nothing to say and can not fix the problem, this is so dangerous and i am at a loss on how to fix the problem. who has to die for them to take this problem seriously!!!
Frame is rot
I noticed the steering wheel was becoming stiff and I resolved to immediately bring the car to the shop given that the mechanic was less than a mile away. The dashboard showed no sensors were off, but I figured it was best to double check. We were fortunately driving on local streets when we smelled smoke. I pulled over, checked the dashboard again to see that the battery light and the airbag light had turned on and off. No other sensor went off. I turned off the engine and turned on the hazards. Although the temperature gauge on the dashboard was normal, I figured that the car was overheating, which would be a first. I retrieved my son from the car, and thought it would be best to call a tow truck. When connecting with AAA, the smoke coming from the car started to grow and I hung up to call the fire department. As I held my son, a brave samaritan tried to help open the hood to extinguish the growing flame. The smoke was overwhelming, a crowd gathered to record the occurrence while I was fortunately able to shield my toddler in an apartment lobby. The fire could not be distinguished until the fire truck arrived. We had taken the car for a roadtrip in April, prior to which we got a check-up, we ensure that we pass our annual registration even though we're no longer paying for extended warranty, which we had til a few years ago. I'm writing because I'm concerned given how quickly these circumstances had escalated. The fact that we didn't even have time to make it to a local auto shop, nevertheless, the service center, or that no sensors or alerts went off prior to this, is truly shocking. Had we been on the highway, the situation would've been worse, where it would've taken longer for the fire department to arrive and the fire would've reached the gas tank, harming many other people.
Excessive oil consumption. Oil checked religiously every Friday. (Added 1-1.5 quarts weekly 500-700 miles). Vehicle owned 21 months. Oil checked and added on Friday 10/08, Saturday 10/09 Engine failed, no oil on dipstick and motor has a grinding sound.
I bought this 2007 rav4 late last year and JUST discovered, when trying to lock in a car seat (my first time with back seat passengers) that two of the rear seat belt buckles do not work. Both the rear passenger and the middle seat belt buckles do not allow the seat belts to lock. Therefore I can only have one passenger in the back seat.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated that the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for a rear brake replacement. After the mechanic replaced both of the rear brakes and front outer tie rod, the mechanic remained outside of the vehicle but leaned in and depressed on the brake pedal when both of the driver and passenger curtain air bags inadvertently deployed. The driver-side curtain air bag deployment caused bruising to the mechanic's back. However, no medical attention was received. The driver-side seat belt was inoperable after the air bags deployed but was replaced by the independent mechanic. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that they inspected the air bags on 10/27/2014. However, no repair was performed at the time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the dealer had already resolved the air bags recall prior to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.
I BOUGHT THE CAR 3 MONTHS AGO FROM PRICE AUTO. THE TIRES WEE FINE AT THAT POINT ALTHOUGH AFTER ABOUT 30 DAYS I NOTICED THE DRIVER REAR TIIRE WAS WEARING A LOT AND THE PASSENGER REAR WAS WEARING ALSO SO I DECIDED TO BUY NEW TIRES 4 OF THEM FROM TIRE WAREHOUSE. WHEN DOING SO I ASKED FOR AN ALIGNMENT THATS WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND IT WAS WITH THE ALIGNMENT. THE REAR ALIGNMENT HAS TO E SEALED SHUT AFTER INITIAL ADJUSTMENT OR IT COULD COME LOOSE AND A BAD ACCIDENT COULD HAPPEN. I IMMEDIETLY MADE GRAPPONE TOYOTA IN CONCOD NH AWARE OF THIS AND THEY SCHEDULED ME TO COME IN SO THEY COULD TAKE PICS AND SEND A REPORT TO HEADQUARTERS TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER THE COSTS SINCE IT WAS A RECALL. I SPOKE WITH A SCOTT AT TOYOTA. . ALSO AT THIS POINT ITS ALMOST 30 DAYS SINCE I OUGHT THE 4 NEW TIRES AND AS OF YESTERDAY 3/27 THE DRIVER BACK REAR TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE FACT IT WAS DOWN TO THE METAL. ALL TOYOTA WILL DO IS PAY FOR THE PARTS WHICH IS $251 . THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE LABOR AND THE ALIGNMENT AND THAT COMES TO $484. SO THEYVE ADMITTED FAULT BY OFFERING TO PAY FOR ANY OF IT. I JUST BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR ALL OF IT. I MEAN I ALREADY PAID TIRE WAREHOUSE FOR AN ALIGNMENT BUT THEY CANT TOUCH IT BECAUSE OF THE RECALL ONLY TOYOTA CAN AND THAT IS FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE THATS NOT RIGHT. IF THE VEHICLE HAS A RECALL AND YOU CAN ONLY BANDAID THE PROBLEM THEN THE RECALL ISNT FIXED AND THE CAR IS UNSAFE.. I MEAN AND WHAT ABOUT THE TIRES I HAVE ALREADY GONE THROUGH WHOS PAYING FOR THOSE?
AT 65270 MILES RAV4 FAILED STEERING INSPECTION WHICH IS MANDATED BY NC. PARTS REPLACED PASSED INSPECTION BUT SQUEALING CONTINUES GETS WORSE AFTER ABUT 15 MINUTES OF CITY DRIVING - METAL TO METAL CONTACT? 265 COMPLAINTS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE OVERALL STEERING SYSTEM SQUEALING OCCURS AT IDLE WITH BRAKE DEPRESSED, RELEASE BRAKE TURN LEFT OR RIGHT SQUEALING STARTS UNTIL ENGINE SHUTDOWN. NO VIBRATIONS FELT STEERING WHEEL. SUNDAY IN CITY DRIVING - 15 MINUTES AFTER START UP.
MY VEHICLE HAVE A SEVERE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE, IT BURNS OIL AT A RATE OF 1 QUART PER 250-500 MILES. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS A TSB ISSUED IN 2016 BY MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS EVEN THOUGH IT FIT THE MODEL YEARS OF THE BULLETIN. *TR
TOYOTA USES A SOY FOOD BASED PRODUCT IN THE INSULATION OF THE ENGINE WIRING. APPARENTLY IT ATTRACTS MICE THAT CHEW ON THE WIRING. THIS CAUSED THE ENGINE TO START MISFIRING FROM THE DAMAGE AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED RUNNING. THIS WAS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD TO THE OCCUPANTS. THE DAMAGE COST ME $1,000 TO REPAIR. THESE CRUCIAL WIRES SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN MADE FROM A PRODUCT THAT IS FOOD FOR MICE. I UNDERSTAND FROM THE TOYOTA SERVICE MANAGER THAT THIS IS NOW A COMMON PROBLEM. MY CAR WAS ON A CITY STREET WHEN IT STALLED OUT. HOWEVER, MOST MILES ARE ON FREEWAYS.
SIGNIFICANT BURNING OF ENGINE OIL, ALMOST NOTHING APPEAR ON THE DEEP STICK WHEN I CHECK IT, NO LEAKED OR WHAT SO EVER FROM TOP TO BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE.
MY CAR IS MAKING THE "GROWLING" NOISE DESCRIBED IN TOYOTA'S WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT AND TOYOTA WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT. BECAUSE OF THE DEFECT THE CAR SHAKES AT SPEEDS MORE THAN 40 MPH, SOUNDS LIKE IT HAS A FLAT EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN'T (LOUDER WHEN MAKING TURNS AND SWITCHING LANES), AND MAKES A BANGING NOISE IN THE REAR (SOUNDS LIKE A CAR DOOR SLAMMING) WHEN DRIVING. VISOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE WILL NOT STAY UP--FALLS AND OBSTRUCTS VIEW WHILE DRIVING.
KNOCK IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING AND HAVE PAID OVER $2,500.00 WITH THE PROBLEM NEVER GETTING FIXED BECAUSE EVERYONE THINKS IT IS SOMETHING ELSE AND THEY ARE ALWAYS WRONG.
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE THERE WAS A POP SOUND IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND I WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS LEAD TO THE RAV4 COMING TO A STOP AFTER IMPALING ON GUARDRAIL FROM FREEWAY SPEEDS. UPON INSPECTION IT APPEARED THAT THE REAR LEFT WHEEL WAS THE CAUSE AND WAS AT AN ANGLE INSTEAD OF BEING PERPENDICULAR TO THE GROUND LIKE THE REST OF THE WHEELS.
THE SELLER OF THE 2007 TOYOTA RAV4 V6 TRIED TO SELL IT TO ME WITH 98,303 MILES & I HAD A CAR SALES APPRAISER RUN THE VIN# ON THIS VEHICLE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE ROLL-BACK MILES. THE LAST REPORTED MILES SHOWING ON CARFAX IS 182,058 P.S. - THE ADDRESS & PHONE# LISTED ON THE COMPLAINT FORM IS THE SELLER/SCAMMER INFORMATION WHOM GOES BY THE NAME "MOISES" FROM THE OFFERUP APP THAT TRIED TO SELL ME THE 2007 TOYOTA RAV4 W/ROLL-BACK MILEAGE.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Rav4. The contact noticed that his vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil upon inspection. The contact stated that he had to add two quarts of oil to the engine every five weeks. The contact went to a dealer where he purchased a PCV valve and a hose connection; the contact's neighbor performed the work on the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON A DIRT ROAD AROUND 25-30 MPH WHEN MY DRIVERS SIDE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG (CSA) DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY. PREVIOUS TO DEPLOYING, THE SEATBELT HAD SUDDENLY LOCKED INTO PLACE. I LEANED BACK TO GET THE SEATBELT TO RELEASE, AND AS I TRIED TO LEAN FORWARD TO SEE IF IT HAD, THE AIRBAG SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY DEPLOYED. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND LOOKED AROUND THE CAR FOR DAMAGE FROM A COLLISION AND OBSERVED NONE. I ALSO DID NOT FEEL OR SENSE A COLLISION HAPPENING. I BELIEVED THIS ISSUE MAY BE RELATED TO A TOYOTA AIRBAG RECALL, PROMPTING ME TO CONTACT THEM. TOYOTA DID AN INSPECTION AND READ THE ELECTRONIC DATA RECORDER FOR THE VEHICLE. UPON COMPLETION THEY TOLD ME THAT THE EDR HAD SENSED A COLLISION ON THE LEFT REAR OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. I HAVE A COPY OF THE EDR, THOUGH NO MEANS TO READ IT OR VERIFY IF THIS IS CORRECT. BASED ON THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLISION, I PURSUED A CLAIM WITH MY COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOUND NO DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND CITED A FAULTY SENSOR AND CITED TOYOTAS CSA AND SEATBELT RECALL OF 2007 RAV4S. TOYOTA INSISTS THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL AND THAT THIS ISSUE IS UNRELATED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THAT IS TRUE, AS MY INSURANCE IS DENYING THE CLAIM AND CITING THE RECALL AS THE REASON. I DID HAVE A TOYOTA DEALER REPLACE THE SEATBELT, AS AFTER THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED IT WAS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL. I ALSO STILL HAVE THE AIRBAG, JUST IN CASE IT NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED OR SOMETHING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA RAV4. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
TOYOTA HAS BEEN CLAIMING I HAVE NO OPEN RECALLS AND I LEARN I HAVE TWO. THEY CAN NOT LOCATE MY VIN TO REMEDY MY ISSUES ... SINCE I'VE OWN THE VEHICLE IN THREE STATES, AND AGAIN NOW HERE IN WISCONSIN. MY VEHICLE BODY IS LITERALLY FALLING APART (ON ITS OWN!) AND I CAN'T REPAIR IT OR GET RECALLS RECTIFIED. IT'S A 2007 WITH UNDER 70K MIKES! I PAID FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY DID NOTHING BUT OIL CHANGES WHICH I PAID FOR.

TOYOTA PERFORMED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST ON MY RAV4 "FOLLOWING TOYOTA POL14-12". TO QUOTE THE SERVICE CENTER REPRESENTATIVE, IT "FAILED THE TEST MISERABLY". THE OIL WAS REPORTEDLY DRY AFTER LESS THAN 1200 MILES. NO MAINTENANCE LIGHT APPEARED. TOYOTA HAD A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT FOR THIS ISSUE. THE CAR IS WELL UNDER THE MILEAGE LIMIT, BUT THE TIME HAS EXPIRED. THE COST TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS $4897.79 PLUS TAX. I CALLED TOYOTA AT 800-331-4331 AS SUGGESTED BY THE SERVICE CENTER REPRESENTATIVE TO REPORT THE PROBLEM AND INQUIRE ABOUT ASSISTANCE. TOYOTA CORPORATE REFUSED TO PROVIDE FURTHER ASSISTANCE.

WHILE GETTING MY EMERGENCY BRAKE REPAIRED BECAUSE IT DID NOT APPEAR TO BE HOLDING PROPERLY AT FIRESTONE THE TECHNICIAN PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LEVER AND THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. AFTER TAKING SUV TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THEY STATED THAT THE INDIVIDUAL PULLED THE HANDLE UP TO FAR CAUSING A SHORT IN THE AIR BAG MODULE DEPLOYING THE AIR BAG WHILE INDIVIDUAL WAS IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS BUT TOYOTA CLAIMS THEY HAVE NO RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WANT ME TO PAY $2,780.00 FOR THE REPAIR.
