WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE AIR BAG REPLACEMENTS FOR THE RECALL DONE. SO FAR NONE ARE AVAILABLE. WE RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER FROM TOYOTA AND IT HAS THE WARNING NOT TO LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS HAS MADE OUR VEHICLE UNABLE TO BE USED FOR MOST OF 2015. WE ONLY PUT 1,000 MILES ON IT. WITH THEM GIVING US THE WARNING THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND IF WE WERE TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT TOYOTA'S LIABILITY WOULD BE VOID SINCE THEY SENT OUT A NOTIFICATION LETTER PER OUR ATTORNEY. I WANT THEM TO BUY BACK OUR VEHICLE SO WE CAN REPLACE IT WITH A TRUCK THAT IS SAFE FOR US TO USE. AS IT NOW E CANNOT SELL IT AND AVOID THE LIABILITY IF SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN WITH THE NEW OWNER. MY HUSBAND HAD AN ACCIDENT LAST JANUARY AND NEITHER OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
THE CONNECTOR ON THE CABLE FROM THE ECU TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILED DUE TO CORROSION. THIS CAUSES THE TRUCK TO ACCELERATE FROM A STANDING STOP IN A MANNER WHERE THE TRANSMISSION SLAMS IN AND OUT OF GEAR. THANKFULLY THIS DIDN'T OCCUR WHEN PULLING OUT ON A BUSY STREET. THE SITUATION IS DANGEROUS. THE TRUCK ALREADY HAD A FRAME RECALL DUE TO CORROSION. THIS ISSUE IS SIMILAR AND REPRESENTS A DESIGN FLAW WITH DANGEROUS CONSEQUENCES. *TR
I BOUGHT MY TRUCK NEW AND HAD EVERY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED. THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HAS FAILED AND THE TRUCK IS IN LIMP MODE AND WILL NOT DRIVE OR PASS EMISSIONS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE REPAIR IS AROUND 3500 AND THE DEALER NOR TOYOTA CORPORATION WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAULTY PART. EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR YEARS AND THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON 2007 THRU 2010 MODELS WHICH USE THE SAME PARTS. I AM TRYING TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION TO GET SOME RESOLUTION.
I NOTICED A GAS LEAK UNDER THE VEHICLE. TECHNICIAN TOLD ME IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH GAS LEAK. DEALER REFUSES TO REPAIR IT AS HE CLAIMS THAT IT IS NOT MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. *JS
I HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT CAME ON WHICH, AFTER CHECKED BY A COMPUTER, WAS DETERMINED TO BE PART NUMBER 1445 (P1445). I RESEARCHED IT OUT AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TOYOTA TUNDRA 2005 MODELS, YET TOYOTA WOULD NOT COVER THE COST NOR DID THEY CARE UNLESS I WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. P1445 IS FOR THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM VALVE #2 STUCK CLOSED. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN BE REIMBURSED BY TOYOTA FOR HAVING TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A PART THAT MANY HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH? THIS IS CLEARLY A FAULTY PART PUT INTO THE 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRAS AND TOYOTA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR IT'S REPLACEMENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT BURNING WIRES FUMES EMITTED FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED BEFORE AND THE HEAT FROM THE FIRE PREVENTED HIM FROM LIFTING THE HOOD LATCH. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FIRE WAS BURNING ON THE FLOOR OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE FURTHER INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I PULLED MY TRUCK OUT OF THE GARAGE (IT WAS BACKED IN) AND WHEN I APPROACHED THE STREET APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK BARELY STOPPED BEFORE ENTERING THE STREET. (DRIVEWAY WAS LUCKILY ON FLAT TERRAIN) I CHECKED THE BRAKE RESERVOIR AND IT WAS ALMOST EMPTY. FILLED UP RESERVOIR, PUMPED BRAKES TO GET STIFF PEDAL AND CHECKED FOR LEAKS. COULD FIND NONE SO DROVE TRUCK ON ABOUT 5 MILE ROUNDTRIP. PULLED TRUCK OUT THE NEXT DAY AND RESERVOIR WAS AGAIN EMPTY BUT COULD FIND NO FLUID ON CONCRETE IN GARAGE. FILLED RESERVOIR & BROUGHT TO MY MECHANIC. HE FOUND THAT THE BOOSTER PUMP WAS LEAKING INTO THE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH WAS WHY THERE WAS NOT FLUID ON THE CONCRETE. HE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT SINCE TOYOTA DOES NOT SELL THE COMPONENTS SEPARATELY. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES. THE BRAKES HAD WORKED PERFECTLY FINE THE PREVIOUS TIME THE TRUCK WAS DRIVEN. IN FACT IT WAS DRIVEN OVER 250 MILES ON A HUNTING TRIP THROUGH ROADS THAT RAN ALONG CLIFFS. IF THE BRAKES HAD SUDDENLY FAILED JUST 4 DAYS EARLIER, SOMEONE COULD HAVE DIED. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

BRAKE FLUID LOW-TOYOTA SERVICE CENTER SAID MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING ONTO VACUUM PACK THUS BOTH HAD TO BE REPLACED, AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE REPAIR THAT SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY ON A LOW-MILEAGE VEHICLE. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS DEACTIVATED. AFTER CONTACTING BOTH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO PERFORM THE RECALL REMEDY WAS STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. I RECEIVED A RECALL FOR AIRBAG ACTUATORS IN THE RIGHT FRONT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO TREASURE COAST TOYOTA ON NOVEMBER 5,2014 AT WHICH TIME THEY DISABLED THE AIR BAG SYSTEM AND TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WOULD BE IN AND REPAIRS WOULD BE DONE WITHIN 2 WEEKS.IT IS NOW MARCH 6TH 2015 AND I`M STILL WAITING FOR THIS TO BE RESOLVED. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE PARTS ARE ON INDEFINITE BACK ORDER!!! I WAS TOLD BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ON OR AROUND FEB. 27TH 2015 THAT THE PARTS FOR MY 2005 VEHICLE WERE THE ONLY ONES ON BACK ORDER. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED. *TR
COLD START OF VEHICLE, VERY LARGE NOISE, LASTED ABOUT 1 MINUTE. ONLY DOES THIS WHEN COLD START. IF VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN NO SOUND. RESEARCH INDICATE, THAT OTHER PROBLEMS NOTED ON THE INTERNET WERE THE AIR INJECTION PUMP, AND SWITCHING VALUES, HAS FOAM THAT HAS DETERIORATED AND FELL DOWN ON THE DC MOTOR AND BURNED THE MOTOR OUT. SEEMS THE MANUFACTURE KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM BUT HAS ONLY CERTAIN MODEL YEARS THEY ARE COVERING. SAME PART IN ALL YEARS BUT NOT COVERING 2005 WHICH IS THE MODEL YEAR OF MY TRUCK. IF SAME PART IS ON DIFFERENT MODEL YEARS THEY SHOULD COVER ALL MODEL YEARS THAT HAVE THIS PART AS IT SEEMS THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT TO UTILIZED TO IMPROVE COLD-START EMISSIONS, WHICH IS MANDATED REQUIREMENT. TOYOTA'S CUSTOMERS HAVE A CUSTOMER SUPPORT PROGRAM TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY SHOULD BE WITH ALL MODEL YEARS THAT HAVE THIS PART. I HAVE AS OF YESTERDAY TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AS I AM PRETTY SURE THIS IS THE PROBLEM. DIAGNOSIS SHOULD BE FORTH COMING. WE RECEIVED SEVERAL RECALL NOTICES FOR FRAME DETERIORATION AND THE NEED FOR INSPECTION, CORRECTION AND ANTI-CORROSION CHEMICAL APPLICATION. WE TOOK IT TO THE TOYOTA DEALER AS REQUESTED. THEY CALLED THE NEXT MORNING TO HAVE US PICK UP THE VEHICLE AND THE ANTI-CORROSION SPRAY (BLACK GOOEY STUFF SIMILAR TO UNDERCOATING) THAT THEY USED WAS EVERYWHERE, INCLUDING ON THE WIRING HARNESSES, BRAKE LINES, THE STEP BARS THAT WE INSTALLED AFTERMARKET LAST YEAR, INSIDE OF THE WHEEL WELLS, THE MUD FLAPS - IT WAS STILL WET AND SMELLED AWFUL. WE CONTACTED THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO BLEW US OFF, WE CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY REFUSED TO ASSIST, OTHER THAN TO TAKE DOWN THE COMPLAINT ON PAPER. I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND AN ATTORNEY EVEN REMOTELY INTERESTED IN ASSISTING WITH THIS CASE. TOYOTA SAYS THAT THE COATING MAY NEVER DRY SO IT WILL ATTRACT ALL DIRT AND GRIME THAT IT'S EXPOSED TO. IT LOOKS AND SMELLS HORRIBLE. WE CAN'T EVEN SELL IT BECAUSE IT SMELLS SO BAD! TOYOTA WON'T REMOVE IT OR EVEN REPAIR IT, NOR WILL THEY REPLACE THE VEHICLE. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 TUNDRA THAT HAS A FAILING AIR INJECTION SYSTEM. I AM WITHIN THE MILEAGE RANGE OF FIRST USE . THE TRUCK HAS THE SAME AIR INJECTION SYSTEM AS THE TUNDRAS WITHIN THE WARRANTY EXTENSION, BUT TOYOTA REFUSES TO HONOR THE WARRANTY EXTENSION ON MY TRUCK. THIS IS A $4000 FIX AND THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THE CURRENT STATE. *TR
FOR A WEEK I HAD NOTICED A LEAK ON THE SURFACE OF THE PARKING LOT OF MY APARTMENT BUILDING WHERE I ALMOST ALWAYS PARK MY TRUCK. SINCE IT'S AN APARTMENT, I DIDN'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO IT, THINKING IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S VEHICLE. THEN ON SUNDAY AUGUST 31ST, I HAD DRIVEN ROUND TRIP TO AKRON, OHIO AND BACK TO WILLOUGHBY, OHIO AND NOTICED A HUGE LEAK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS THE POWER STEERING AND THAT THERE ARE TWO OF THE PARTS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THEY HAVE RUSTED AND LEAKED ON OTHER TUNDRA'S OF THE SAME YEAR AS MINE. *TR

I HAVE MULTI MILE WILD COUNTRY TIRES INSTALLED ON MY TRUCK WHICH ARE ONLY A FEW MONTHS AND A FEW THOUSAND MILES OLD. TWO OF THE TIRES HAVE SIDEWALL SEPARATION CRACKS AND ONE IS LEAKING AIR THROUGH THE CRACK. THEY ARE: SIZE 265/70R16 DOT# U9C2 T93 3213. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 TUNDRA THAT HAS A FAILING AIR INJECTION SYSTEM. I AM WITHIN 10 YEARS OF FIRST USE. THE TRUCK HAS THE SAME AIR INJECTION SYSTEM AS THE TUNDRAS WITHIN THE WARRANTY EXTENSION, BUT TOYOTA REFUSES TO HONOR THE WARRANTY EXTENSION ON MY TRUCK. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC RECOMMENDED THAT THE SECOND AIR INJECTION SYSTEM BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WENT OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE AIR INJECTION SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V444000 (STRUCTURE) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V013000 (SUSPENSION). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. DR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH OVER A BRIDGE, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY LOWERED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH THE LOWER AND UPPER BALL JOINTS SNAPPED AND CAUSED THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE TO EXPLODE FROM THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.

STEERING RACK FAILED SAFETY INSPECTION DUE TO LEAKING POWER STEERING FLUID CAUSED BY RUST. THE DEALERSHIP I WAS USING HAD 3 OTHER OF THE SAME OR SIMILAR TOYOTA TRUCKS WITH THE SAME FAILURE AT THIS SAME TIME. THEY HAD PROBLEMS LOCATING ENOUGH PARTS TO DO ALL THE REPAIR. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRUCK LOST POWER. THE ENGINE REVVED LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO GO, BUT HAD NO MORE FORWARD MOMENTUM. THE SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WAS 50MPH. HOOKED UP THE COMPUTER AND THE ERROR CODE READ THAT IT IS THE AIR SWITCHING VALVE. ERROR CODES P-1442, SWITCHING VALVES ARE STUCK CLOSED, #2 IN BANK 1 AND #2 IN BANK 2 OF THE SECONDARY AIR INSPECTION SYSTEM. SAME ISSUE ON 2007-10 TUNDRA AND WAS RECALLED DUE TO DEFECT. MY TRUCK HAS THE SAME ISSUE, HAS UNDER 150,000 MILES, AND HAS BEEN VERY WELL MAINTAINED. TOLD BY TOYOTA THAT IT IS NOT A RECALL AT THIS TIME AND IF THERE IS ONE IN THE FUTURE, THEY WILL REIMBURSE US OUR COSTS. WAS TAKING IT TO HAVE ITS OIL CHANGED AND NOTICED A SMALL PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE REAR AXLE SETTING IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER I ASK THEM TO CHECK THE REAR AXLE TO SEE WERE THE OIL WAS COMING FROM THEY TOLD ME THAT THE AXLE HOUSING HAD RUSTED THROUGH TOYOTA WONT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE WARRANTY DOSNT COVER RUST AND IT IS GOING TO COST ME 3600.00 FOR THEM TO FIX IT . TO ME I THINK THIS IS A BUNCH OF BULL THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 70192 MILES ON IT THERE IS NO WAY THIS SHOULD OF RUSTED OUT CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IF I DIDN'T NOTICE THIS THE REAR AXLE COULD HAVE LOST ALL OF ITS OIL CAUSING A MAJOR MALFUNCTION THE AXLE COULD OF LOCKED UP BROKE THE AXLE CAUSING TO LOOSE CONTROLL CREATING A BAD ACCIDENT THEY SAY IT DOSNT COVER RUST BUT YET I GOT A RECALL NOTICE TO BRING IT IN TO HAVE THE FRAME INSPECTED FOR EXTREME RUST CORROSION. JANUARY 28TH (2014) I WAS INTO YORK'S TOYOTA FOR DIAGNOSIS OF A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ROUGH IDLE PROBLEM. THE CLERK AT YORK'S TOYOTA ADVISED ME OF (2) RECALLS ON MY PICKUP TRUCK (BALL JOINT & SPRAY FRAME) AND SAID "WE WILL CALL YOU TO SCHEDULE WHEN TO HAVE THESE COMPLETED AT NO COST TO YOU". FEBRUARY 6TH WHILE DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON INTERSTATE 95 AT THE POSTED SPEED OF 75MPH IN SHERMAN MAINE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF MY 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA BUCKLED. AFTER PULLING TO SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK AND SAW THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE BALL JOINT APPEARED TO HAVE SHEERED OFF CAUSING DAMAGE TO TIE ROD END, OTHER FRONT STEERING COMPONENTS AND SOME FRONT QUARTER PANEL DAMAGE. I CALLED THE MAINE STATE POLICE WHICH COMPLETED AN ACCIDENT REPORT. YORK'S HAS REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. MY INSURANCE REFUSES TO PAY BECAUSE THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT WAS A RECALLED PART. TOYOTA CORP IN CALIFORNIA HAS REFUSED TO PAY FOR ALL THE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE STATING THE BALL JOINT RECALL WAS FOR PREMATURE WEAR AND SINCE MY TRUCK HAS 150,000MILES IT DOESN'T QUALIFY. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS SCREECHING NOISE FROM THE FRONT UNDER THE HOOD NEXT TO THE TIRES. WHEN DRIVING I FELT ITS VIBRATION AND THE FRONT WHEELS WERE ABOUT TO COME OFF. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE BOLT JOINTS ON BOTH SIDE OF THE FRONT ARE ABOUT TO COME OFF. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD SEEM CUSTOMERS WHEELS CAME OFF THE FREEWAYS. ON FEBRUARY 6, 2014, I HAVE THE BOLT JOINTS REPLACED IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,014.98. WITH THIS ISSUE, I AM VERY CONCERN WHY TOYOTA HAS NOT RECALL THIS PROBLEM. SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM FAILURE, CAUSING THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AND FAIL STATE EMOTIONS TESTING.
GEAR SHIFT ON STEERING WHEEL COLUMN BECAME LOOSE AND IT BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO PLACE TRUCK INTO PARK. IT STARTED GRADUALLY UNTIL THE PLAY IN THE SHIFTER WAS SO BAD THAT I COULD NO LONGER PUT IT INTO DRIVE, REVERSE OR NEUTRAL WITHOUT THE SHIFTER HANDLE HITTING THE WINDSHIELD WIPER HANDLE AND CAUSING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO ACTIVATE AND SQUIRT CLEANER ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. I WAS CONCERNED THAT IT WAS GOING TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR OR INTO GEAR CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH, AND IT BECAME INCREASINGLY HARD TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. I TOOK IT TO TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY REPLACED IT. I HAVE THE PART (A1 SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY / BD376 HOUSING, STEERING COLUMN) AND IT IS DEFECTIVE INFERIOR METAL PART BROKEN INTO TWO PIECES. *TR

I BROUGHT MY TRUCK IN ON JULY 13TH 2015 TO HAVE THE FRAME INSPECTION DONE BY HURLBURT TOYOTA IN EPPING NH. THEY DETERMINED THAT MY FRAME PASSED INSPECTION AND WANTED ME TO BRING IT BACK TO HAVE CRC DONE. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN ABOUT THE CONDITION OF MY FRAME WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF AND HANDED THE SERVICE REP TWO PIECES OF METAL THAT HAD BASICALLY FALLEN OFF IN MY HAND. I WAS TOLD NOT TO WORRY AND THAT THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. I KNEW THE FRAME WAS IN BAD SHAPE AND WAS DISGUSTED WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I WAS THEN CONTACTED A FEW WEEKS LATER 2 DAYS BEFORE THE RECALL EXPIRED AND WAS ENCOURAGED TO GET MY TRUCK IN TO HAVE CRC DONE, BUT THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE ME A LOANER THAT I COULD TOW WITH SO I NEVER WENT IN. I WAS PREPARED TO UNDERCOAT TRUCK MYSELF AND WHILE UNDERNEATH MY TRUCK I FOUND A HOLE IN THE BOXED SECTION OF THE DRIVERS SIDE(NOT A DRAINAGE HOLE) I CONTACTED THE DEALER THAT INSPECTED AND THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT TOYOTA CORP WHICH I DID AND RECEIVED A CASE # AND AFTER A LOT OF WASTED TIME WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THE WAY THIS IS BEING HANDLED. THERE IS NO WAY THEY CAN GET CRC IN THAT BOXED SECTION WHICH IS WHERE MY PROBLEM IS. IT IS FRAME ROT NOT RUST. APPLYING CRC TO THAT AREA WILL PROBABLY ONLY MAKE THE ROT WORSE. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DO A MORE THOROUGH INSPECTION BEFORE UNDERCOATING BUT THEY HAD MY TRUCK FOR TWO DAYS AND PRINTED ON SERVICE SLIP THAT IT PASSED. ALL OF THE FRAMES ARE BAD ON THESE TRUCKS. IM NOW STUCK WITH A TRUCK THAT I PAID $10,000 TWO YEARS AGO AND NOW FEEL ITS WORTH NOTHING. I WOULD NOT SELL IN THIS CONDITION AND CANT GET ANY HELP FROM TOYOTA! THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO PROPERLY RESTRAIN THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE HE RECEIVED TREATMENT FOR SEVERAL INJURIES INCLUDING INJURIES TO THE NECK AND VERTEBRAE, A PARTIAL COLLAPSED LUNG, ROTATOR CUFF INJURIES TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER, AND TEARS TO THE BICEPS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP AND DECLARED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TRUCK FLIPS OVER ONTO GUARD RAIL, SLIDES FOR A WAYS ON GUARD RAIL, THEN ROLLS OVER AS IT DESCENDS A HILL. THE BLOWOUT WAS IN MY LANE (GAUGE IN PAVEMENT) WITHOUT ANY OBJECT IN THE ROAD. TIRE LOST PRESSURE INSTANTANEOUSLY. BOTH TOW DRIVER & INSURANCE ADJUSTER POINTED OUT TIRE AS CAUSE OF ACCIDENT. THE TIRE WAS A MICHELIN LTX M/S2 WITH 33000 MILES ON IT, BUT IT HAD A 70000 MILE WARRANTY.
