SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING UNDER 30MPH. ENGINE NO LONGER STARTS CORRECTLY. ONLY 51,000 MILES. AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY AND AIR SWITCHING VALVES ERROR CODE. (P0418) KNOWN DEFUNCT PARTS FOR 2007 TUNDRAS WHICH TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. WARRANTY NOT SUFFICIENT LENGTH FOR THIS MODEL YEAR FOR LOW MILEAGE VEHICLES. COULD NOT HAVE HAD PROPERLY FIXED UNTIL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. HOWEVER, PARTS FAIL AT 50K+ MILES. PLEASE EXTEND WARRANTY TO APPROPRIATE LENGTH FOR THIS ISSUE. NUMEROUS SIMILAR INSTANCES NOTED UPON INTERNET RESEARCH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, WHITE SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE CONTACT USED A CO2 FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V491000 (VISIBILITY). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WEST KENDALL TOYOTA (13800 SW 137TH AVE, MIAMI, FL 33186) APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS AGO, BUT THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH EXCEEDED THE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1810040023. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
WE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE FROM TOYOTA TO SAY THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM VALVE STUCK OPEN, WE CONTACTED THEM, THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER THE MILEAGE, BUT, UNDER THE YEAR OF MANUFACTURE, THIS WAS RELAYED TO US ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, VERBALLY, TOYOTA SEEMS RELUCTANT TO PUT IT IN WRITING. THE PROBLEM THEY SAID IS CAUSED BY A FAULTY SENSOR INSTALLED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED. WHEN THE SENSOR TRIGGERS, THE VEHICLE LOOSES POWER IMMEDIATELY, THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS WHEN OVERTAKING FOR EXAMPLE. ON BOTH OCCASIONS THE VERBAL MESSAGE WE RECEIVE SAYS TOYOTA WILL NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH THEY SENT A RECALL LETTER, AND THE PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY A FAULTY SENSOR INSTALLED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while idle at a traffic light and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle was jerking with a popping sound coming from underneath the vehicle near the middle and the rear end. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the yoke had separated from the driveshaft. The vehicle was not repaired by the mechanic and was instead taken to the dealer for a possible recall repair related to the failure. The dealer confirmed the diagnostic result however, the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V579000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the same failure had occurred 5 years prior and the vehicle was repaired out-of-pocket. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
I HAVE A 5.7L 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. IT HAS BEEN RAINING REAL BAD IN TEXAS AND THE OTHER DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT LOST POWER. I TOOK IT AND HAD IT CHECKED. I HAVE AN ERROR CODE P0419. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE INSTANCES ONLINE AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ISSUES FOR 10 YEARS 150K MILES, BUT I AM OUT BY TIME, AND I ONLY HAVE 88K MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES AS IF I WAS PASSING SOMEONE AND LOST POWER, I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A WRECK. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE BY TOYOTA AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY A GENERAL RECALL.
WHO CAN I GET TO HELP ME BECAUSE MY TRUCK FRAME IS RUSTED/CORRODED FROM SALT AND IT IS NOT SAFE. IT PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT. I WENT TO HOLLOWAY TIRE CO.(706-647-7016 - [XXX]) IN THOMASTON, GA. TO GET MY FRONT END ALIGNED. THEY COULD NOT DO IT BECAUSE THE BOLTS THEY NEEDED TO LOOSE ON THE LOWER CONTROL ARM, IN ORDER TO ALIGN IT, WERE SO RUSTED/CORRODED FROM SALT THAT THEY COULD NOT GET THEM LOOSE. THEY EVEN APPLIED HEAT TO THE BOLTS TO TRY AND BREAK THEM LOOSE BUT THAT DID NOT HELP. THE RUST/CORROSION FROM SALT HAD THEM FROZEN/LOCKED. TOYOTA REFUSES TO HONOR THEIR FRAME RECALL ON MY 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE COURT ORDERED TOYOTA TO FIX THE PROBLEM IN A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT. SEE WEBSITE BELOW. AND THAT DEALERSHIP REPRESENTATIVE [XXX] CONTACTED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS AND EVEN SENT THEM PICTURES OF MY FRAME AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS SINCE, I DO NOT LIVE IN A COLD WEATHER STATE, TOYOTA IS NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT MY TRUCK. EVEN THOUGH, TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS WAS TOLD THAT OUT OF THE 11 PAST YEARS 10 OF THOSE YEARS (FROM 2007 TO2017) THE TRUCK LIVED IN NEW YORK (A COLD WEATHER STATE). WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK TO LAS VEGAS AUG, 2018 WAS PASSING A LINE OF SEMI'S GOING TO SLOW AFTER PASSING ABOUT 3 OF THEM THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED RUNNING, HAD TO GET TO SIDE OF ROAD FAST, AFTER MAKING IT THERE THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START AGAIN. AFTER AN HOUR OR SO IT STARTED. MADE IT TO VEGAS. THE SAME THING HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THAT DAY ALSO THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHTS SUCH AS "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT THAT CAME ON.THIS TRUCK WAS BOUGHT NEW IN 2008, WHEN THE FIRST TIME THAT HAPPENED IT HAD 29080 MILES ON IT, I DON'T DRIVE IT THAT MUCH AS I AM RETIRED SO DON'T DRIVE AS MUCH AS I DID BEFORE.THAT TRIP TO VEGAS COULD HAVE BEEN ALL TO DIFFERENT HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET OFF FREEWAY, BECAUSE THE STEARING AT 70 MPH IS NOT TOO GOOD, COULD HAVE BEEN BAD ACCIDENT FOR MY WIFE AND MYSELF, AND OTHERS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN INVOLVED. TOYOTA DEALER SAID HE NEVER HEARD OF A PROBLEM LIKE THAT WHEN I CALLED THEM. HAVE SEARCHED SEVERAL WEB SITES AND FOUND COMPLAINTS WITH SAME PROBLEM THEREFORE I BELIEVE TOYOTA KNOWS ABOUT IT BUT REFUSES TO REPAIR THEIR PROBLEM. MAYBE THEY NEED A HIGH TOTAL OF DEATHS BEFORE FIXING THEIR PROBLEM. I THINK ITS A FUEL PUMP PROBLEM OR RELATED TO THE ENGINE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE, FAILED TO ACCELERATE, AND LOST POWER. IN ADDITION, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM, TRACTION CONTROL, AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SECONDARY PUMP AND SWITCHING VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1808030456. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
I TOOK MY TRUCK FOR SERVICE AT A TOYOTA TUNDRA AND THE SHOP INFORMED ME THAT MY AIR PUMP WAS DEFECTIVE. I CAN'T GO ABOVE 30 MPH UP HILL AND IT DOESN'T SHIFT CORRECTLY WHEN MY TRUCK IS IN LIMP MODE. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, VEHICLE SWERVE CONTROL LIGHT, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON.
FUEL TANK STRAP RUSTED AND BROKE TANK WAS HELD ON WITH THE FRONT STRAP SAGGING IN THE REAR. VEHICLE HAS 159000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY.
SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM TOYOTA ISSUED BULLETIN, T SB 0160 11 . THE TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE ON THE INTERSTATE TRUCK SLOWED TO 50 MPH, WAS DANGEROUS TRYING TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC . THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED, INSTEAD IT'S APPROPRIATE $4000 REPAIR. IT IS SO COMMON BYPASS UNITS ARE AVAILABLE ON EBAY FOR $200.
THE EMISSION AIR PUMPS AND VALVES FAILED ON TRUCK WHICH PUT TRUCK IN LIMP MODE WHICH MADE UNSAFE TO DRIVE ONLY ABLE TO GO 20 MPH AND ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT TSB 0329-08 ON HIGHWAY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL
COMPLAINTS INVOLVING TAKATA INFLATOR "TAKATA RECALL".PROBLEM WITH AXLE KNOCKNG WHEN COMING .TO A STOP; SOUNDS LIKE METAL TO METAL HITTING.
THE AMPLIFIER FOR THE AC/HEAT CONTROLS BROKE. I NEED IT FIXED AS THE TRUCK IS NOT USABLE IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA WITHOUT AC. TOYOTA PUT THE AMP IN THIS MODEL BEHIND THE DASH. THIS WAS WRONG AND THEY CHANGED IT FAIRLY QUICKLY. TO REPAIR THIS MODEL REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL $1,200 OF COST BEYOND THAT OF THE BROKEN PART. I SPOKE WITH TOYOTA AND HAVE A FILE NUMBER. THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP WITH THIS COST OR AN ELECTRONIC WORK AROUND. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE CAN BE DRIVEN BUT IT IS A DEATH TRAP AND THIS IS CAUSED BY POOR ENGINEERING. WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 TUNDRA WITH ONLY 62K MILES, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) CONTROLLER FAILED, CAUSING ALL FOUR WHEELS (BRAKES) ON MY 2007 TUNDRA TO LOCK UP IN TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THANKFULLY, I WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD WITH LITTLE TRAFFIC. THE LOCKUP OCCURRED WHEN I TOUCHED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN. THINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT IF I HAD BEEN ON A FREEWAY TRAVELING AT A HIGHER SPEED. DEALER REPLACEMENT COST ESTIMATE: $3700. ONLY CAUSE GIVEN FOR THE FAILURE WAS "AGE".
WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED, ABS CONTROLLER FAILED CAUSING VEHICLE BRAKES TO LOCK RESULTING IN A SUDDEN STOP IN TRAFFIC.
VEHICLE AIR PUMPS ARE CAUSING MY TRUCK TO NOT TAKE OFF CORRECTLY AND WON'T GO OVER 40 MPH GOING UP HILL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V579000 (POWER TRAIN). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE TRUCK BED IS RUSTING THROUGH CAUSING FLIMSY BED MOUNTING TO THE FRAME. HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BREAK THROUGH DURING VEHICLE OPERATION RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT INJURING OR KILLING PASSENGERS OR OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD.
IN 2018 I BROUGHT MY 2007 TO MY DEALER (ACTON TOYOTA LITTLETON MASS.) TO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY CHECK ON THE FRAME. THEY FOUND IT TO BE RUSTED ENOUGH TO KEEP IT SEVERAL DAYS FOR RUST TREATMENT . A YEAR OR SO LATER MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I HAD A SEVERE UNDERBODY RUST PROBLEM. AT THIS TIME TOYOTA REFUSED TO TAKE CARE OF IT BECAUSE I WAS 2 WEEKS BEYOND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. TOYOTA ORIGINALLY REPLACED A LOT OF THE RUSTED FRAMES AND ALSO TREATED OTHERS. I NOW HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS LESS THAN 80,000 MILES AND MAY BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I FEEL THAT THE RUST PROTECTION WAS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO PACIFY CUSTOMERS LIKE MYSELF .
A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS PUT IN MY 07 TUNDRA IN 2018 (DO TO IMPROPER SERVICE) WORKED WELL AT THAT TIME. IN 2019 TAIL SHAFT SEAL STARTED TO LEAK AGAIN WAS THEN REPLACED WITH A NEW SEAL GENIUNE TOYOTA SEAL HAS WORKED WELL FOR ABOUT 3K MILES AND HAS STARTED TO LEAK AGAIN IT SEEMS TO ONLY LEAK AFTER ONCE THE TRUCK GETS WARMED UP AND ONLY WHEN IT IS IN MOTION ON HWY OR STREETS. I AM SEEING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS! WILL INCLUDE LINKS. I SEE RECALLS FOR 07 4WD FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR THE 2WD WHY IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM EXACTLY, AND FEEL THIS COULD BE A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM LEADING TO AN ACCIDENT, FIRE OR DEATH. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVELINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V579000 (POWER TRAIN) DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING A 2 WHEEL DRIVE AND NOT A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

DRIVE BELT TENSIONER DEFECTIVE CAUSES LOSS OF STEERING FAILED AT 57,000 MILES HAD BELT REPLACED 3 TIMES.
MY 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA FUEL TANK STRAP RUSTED THROUGH AND THE FUEL TANK CAME LOOSE AND PARTIALLY FELL OUT BUT WAS HELD IN BY THE FILL HOSE AND EVAP HOSES. THE SKID PLATE THAT IS MOUNTED TO THE STRAP BROKE COMPLETELY OFF AND WAS FOUND ON THE HIGHWAY. I FIND THIS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS IF IT HAD BEEN THE FRONT STRAP IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. I KNOW RUST CAN BE AN ISSUE BUT CERTAINLY NOT SOMETHING I HAVE BEEN WORRIED ABOUT ON A 9 YEAR OLD TRUCK. I AM NOT EXACTLY SURE WHEN THE STRAP BROKE AS I SAW IT HANGING AFTER WORK ON MY WAY TO THE TRUCK.
THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE GIVES A VIBRATION AND SHAKES REAL BAD JUST HAPPENS WHEN I'M DRIVING MY TRUCK
I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA AND WHILE STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE I NOTICED BUBBLING UNDER MY SPRAY IN BEDLINER WHERE THE BED CONTACTS THE FRAME CROSS RAILS FRONT AND BACK. I THEN CRAWLED UNDER THE TRUCK BED AND SAW A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF RUST ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BED. I TOOK IT FORT'S TOYOTA OF PEKIN AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP ME AND THAT I COULD CALL TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD HELP SINCE I DIDN'T NOTICE IT TILL AFTER WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED EVEN THOUGH I'VE HAD EVERY SERVICE DONE AT THEIR PLACE SINCE NEW. YOU WOULD THINK THE 27 POINT INSPECTION THEY PERFORMED EVERY TIME WOULD HAVE CAUGHT IT BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED SINCE THEY HAD A TSB ON THE RUST THROUGH PROBLEM.
AIR BAG LIGHT SHOWED AIR BAG WAS TURNED OFF, TOOK VEHICLE TO MERCED CA TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE PROBLEM, WAS ADVISED THAT COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMED. IT COST 130.00. DEALER COULD NOT EXPLANE WHY VEHICLE NEEDED PROGRAMING OR WHEN IT COULD NEED IT AGAIN. VERY CONCERNED!!!!! VEHICLE PARKED AT MY HOME, IN A.M. WHEN I WENT TO START VEHICLE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, NO REASON THAT I KNOW OF.
MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT HAS CAME ON AND STAYS ON, MY VSC LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY FLASHES. THE CODE THAT IT KEEPS SENDING IS P2440 AND P2441 (SECONDARY INJECTION). I HAD WENT OVERSEAS WITH THE MILITARY FOR TWO YEARS AND CAME BACK LAST YEAR TO CHANGE THE BATTERY AND THIS STARTED. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 75,000 MILES. THIS IS ALL THE TIME, DOESN'T MATTER STOPPED, GOING, HIGH SPEED, LOW SPEED.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. AS WELL AS THE LIGHTS STATING THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN DISABLED. THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF THIRD GEAR AND THE VSC BEING OFF IS CAUSING AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION DUE TO SLIPPING TIRES AROUND CORNERS AT NORMAL SPEEDS. UPON CHECKING THE ENGINE CODE P2714 AND P0751 I HAVE COME TO FIND OUT THERE IS AN INTERNAL TOYOTA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN CIRCULATING THEIR DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS DATING BACK TO NOVEMBER 28, 2007 WHEN THIS ISSUE WAS FIRST DISCOVERED. THE BULLETIN IS NAMED TC017-07. ALSO UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS POSTS ABOUT THIS CODE AND THE EXACT ISSUES MY VEHICLE SUFFERS FROM ON MULTIPLE TOYOTA TUNDRA MESSAGE AND INTERNET CHAT GROUPS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WHICH COULD EASILY CAUSE LOSS OF LIFE OR PROPERTY IF THESE VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE ARE SUDDENLY PRONE TO THE VSC AND TRANSMISSION ACTING ABNORMALLY. THIS ISSUE FOR ME CAME UP VERY SUDDENLY WITH NO PRIOR WARNING AS THE DASH LIGHTS CAME IN WHILE DRIVING. I WILL BE ASKING TOTOTA TO FIX THIS ISSUE AT THEIR COST WITH THE REMEDY THEY DESCRIBE IN THEIR SERVICE BULLETIN. THE REMEDY THEY RECOMMEND IS TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND REPROGRAM THE ECM.
THE FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED HOLES IN SOME SPOTS. EXHAUST IS RUSTED. EXHAUST HANGERS HAVE RUSTED APART. FUEL TANK HANGERS ARE RUSTED ALMOST APART. ALL BRAKE LINES ARE RUSTED. TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING DUE TO MOUNTING BRACKETS BEING RUSTED. DRIVESHAFT HAS FALLEN APART DUE TO RUST. TERRIBLE CONDITION.
I HAD MY 2007 57,800 MILE TUNDRA INSPECTED AT MY TOYOTA DEALER WHEN I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRAME/UNDER VEHICLE IS "VERY RUSTY". UPON INSPECTION BY MYSELF THE ENTIRE FRAME IS RUSTING AND FLAKING OFF. THE SERVICE TECH PLAYED STUPID AND REFERRED ME TO CORPORATE(800-331-4331). SHE ALSO SAID IT PASSED INSPECTION AND THERE ARE NO HOLES IN THE FRAME. I GUESS THAT MAKES IT ALL OK. CORPORATE INFORMED ME THAT MY TRUCK HAS NO "WARRANTY SERVICE ENHANCEMENTS" AT THIS TIME. THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT CAN OFFER ME NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WITH THIS ISSUE, AT THIS TIME. I SHOULD NOT HAVE SEVERE RUST ISSUES WITH A GARAGE KEPT 2007 TUNDRA(OR ANY VEHICLE) AT 57,800 MILES THAT I PURCHASED NEW. I SUSPECT THE VEHICLE WILL HAVE SAFETY ISSUES WITHIN THE NEXT 2 YEARS DUE TO THE SEVERE RUSTING OF THE FRAME.

RUST HAS COMPLETELY EATEN THROUGH TRUCK BED FLOOR AND THERE ARE SEVERAL (8+) OTHER SPOTS. I'M NOW CONCERNED WITH SAFETY FOR MY FAMILY. I FIRST NOTICED THIS ON 9/9/16 AFTER REMOVING MY BED LINER FOR FIRST TIME TO THEN HAVE A SPRAY LINER IN PLACE. I THEN TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEN CALLED TOYOTA. IF THEY WOULD'VE INFORMED ME OF THE TSB, I WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO HAVE FIXED AS THIS ONE MAJOR HOLE IS MORE THAN 5 YEARS IN THE MAKING. WITH THE TIMING OF THIS TSB THAT WOULD'VE PUT ME INSIDE THE 5 YEAR CORROSION WARRANTY. YOU JUST NEVER THINK TO LOOK UNDER BED LINER AND NOW IT'S TOO LATE PER TOYOTA. VERY UNHAPPY

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.

TRUCK BED RUSTING FROM UNDERNEATH IN 2 SPOTS WHERE ATTACHING TO THE FRAME UNDERCARRIAGE AND BUBBLING ON BED FLOOR. IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND TOYOTA REFUSES TO FIX IT BECAUSE IT IS OVER 5 YEAR WARRANTY. HAS 47000 MILES ON IT. COULD BECOME A SAFETY FACTOR IF IT COMES COMPLETELY LOOSE FROM THE FRAME.
I HAD ALL THE DASH LIGHTS FLASHING AND THE TRANSFER CASE STUCK IN 4WHEEL DRIVE LOW, AN ENGINE MISFIRE AND VIBRATION. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS AN AIR PUMP VALVE PROBLEM. HE CLEARED THE CODES IN THE COMPUTER AND I DROVE IT HOME. THE NEXT MORNING IT DID THE SAME THING. I TOOK IT BACK AND HE GOT IT RUNNING AGAIN. THE WEATHER HAS SINCE WARMED UP AND IT HASN'T DONE IT SINCE. THAT WAS A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. I FOUND OUT THAT TOYOTA WAS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS AND 100,000 MILES. SO I TOOK IT TO FOSS TOYOTA IN CASPER, WY. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIX IT UNLESS IT MALFUNCTIONED RIGHT THERE ON THEIR LOT. I CONTACTED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS BY E-MAIL, I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND WAS PHONED BY SOMEONE AT TOYOTA. THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING. I SAY BULLCOOKIES. THOSE ENGINE FAIL CODES ARE STILL IN THE COMPUTER. AND I BELIEVE THEY'RE STALLING UNTIL MY 10 YEARS ARE UP THIS COMING SEPTEMBER. THIS AIR PUMP REPAIR IS A $5,000.00 TO $6,000.00 BILL. I THINK TOYOTA SHOULD REPAIR MY TRUCK, I BOUGHT IT FROM THEM IN GOOD FAITH, I HAD TO HAVE A $1,000.00 + ENGINE BELT AND A WATER PUMP PUT ON IT ALREADY, AND NOW THIS? THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND A DEALER WHO BOTH CONFIRMED THAT THE CORROSION WAS PAST THE POINT OF REPAIR AND THAT A NEW SUBFRAME WOULD BE NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE INTERSTATE A FLAPPING NOISE WAS HEARD. IT DIMINISHED WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS FOUND TO HAVE THE RIVETS HOLDING THE GAS TANK SHIELD IN PLACE BROKEN OFF. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD RUSTED.
