The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. WHEN I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLEL SOMETIMES IT HESITATES I DON'T KNOW IF F IS AIR FLOW SENSOR OR TRANSMISSION A HAD NO IDEA
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR HEADED OUT OF TOWN AND NOTICED WHILE DRIVING MY CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATING ON ITS ON ALMOST CAUSING ME TO ALMOST LOSE CONTROL AND HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY LIFE IN DANGER. WE ENDED UP TURNING AROUND TO HEAD BACK HOME AND ON THE WAY HOME WE STARTED SMELLING A STRONG GAS THE SMELL WAS SO LOUD WE ENDED UP PULLING OVER AND CALLING FOR A RIDE ALSO WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN TO LONG I NOTICED THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP OUT OF DRIVING AND SWITCH INTO A DIFFERENT GEAR ON IT'S OWN CASING ME TO HAVE TO PUT MY EMERGENCY SIGNAL LIGHTS ON AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO GET IT BACK INTO DRIVING EVERYTIME THAT HAPPENED I WOULD NOTICE THAT THE D ON THE DASHBOARD WOULD BE GONE I ENDED UP TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP VW IN BRADENTON FL SO IT COULD BE LOOKED AT IT HAD RECALLS IT THEY ALSO LISTED A FEW OTHER THINGS THEY NEEDED TO DO SO AFTER THEM SO CALLED FIXING IT THE COST I HAD TO PAY WAS $1,555.88 SO AS I LEFT I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON THE CAR WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING LIKE IT NEVER WAS FIXED I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK NEXT FRIDAY I ENDED UP STOPPING TO TO CHECK MY OLI LEVEL AND NOTICED THAT VW DEALER MECHANIC FORGOT TO PUT MY OIL BACK IN MY CAR AFTER FIXING A SMALL DRIP THAT THEY SAID WASNT THAT ARGENT TO FIX AND IN I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND LET THEM DO ANYWAYS BEFORE I DROPPED MY CAR OFF TO VW I HAD JUST GOT A OIL CHANGE 2 DAYS BEFORE AT THIS POINT I'M SO HURT I'M A PATIENT OF 1 WITHOUT A CAR NOW ALL BECAUSE THE VW FORGOT TO PUT MY OIL BACK INTO MY CAR WHEN THEY GOT DONE MY CAR IS DESTROYED MY $1,555.88 >IS GONE MY MOTOR HAD NO OIL IN AND ALL I GOT WAS A SORRY EVERYTHING I WORKED WORKED HARD FROM WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM ME ALL IN A BLINK OF A EYE😢
THE DEALERSHIP SAID PCV VALVE WENT OUT AND CAUSED REAR MAIN SEAL TO BREAK, WHICH IS THE REASON MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR IS NOW LEAKING OIL. THE PCV VALVE APPEARS TO BE FINE, NOTHING IS STUCK, NOTHING CRACKED, THE GASKET IS NOT DAMAGED EITHER. THE CAR NOW HAS 80K MILES ON IT AND IM STUCK WITH $1800 REPAIR BILL FOR THE REAR MAIN SEAL.
STARTED THE CAR IT TURN OVER AND AUTOMATICALLY SHUTOFF FUEL INJECTION IT WAS ON A CITY STREET AND STOPPED SMACK IN THE MIDDLE CAUSING CARS TO GO AROUND ME
TAKATA RECALL. VW WILL NOT REPLACE THE RECALLED AIRBAG. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR. I CALLED MANY TIMES AND GET MANY NOTICES IN THE MAIL TO GET IT REPLACE. UPON CALLING THEY (VW OF ONTARIO, SAN BERNARDINO AND MORENO VALLEY INCLUDING THE CORPORATE LINE. THAT THERE ARE NO AIRBAGS AND THE MANUFACTURE WENT OUT OF BUSINESS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM FAILED AND CODE NUMBER: P2293 WAS LOCATED. THE DEALER ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT OF TWO OPEN RECALLS: NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND 18V148000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT NOTIFY HIM ABOUT THE RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROMISED TO CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.
TAKATA RECALL. I TOOK MY CC FOR RECALL ON THE AIRBAG IN VW DEALER IN COUNTRYSIDE, IL.THE REPLACE THE AIRBAG AND GIVE ME THE CAR BACK WITH AIRBAG ERROR ON THE DASHBOARD.AFTER THAT THEY SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO CALL FOR APPOINTMENT COME BACK WHEN IS AVAILABLE, PAY THEM $140 FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND THEN THEY CAN TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY AIRBAG.THEY WANT ME TO DRIVE MY CAR WITH OUT AIRBAG.
I AM A U.S SERVICE MEMBER STATIONED OVERSEAS. I WILL BE SERVING OVERSEAS UNTIL NOVEMBER 2021. WHILE DRIVING ON THE AUTOBAHN WITH MY FAMILY, I GOT ON THE LEFT LANE TO PASS A VEHICLE NEXT TO ME. WHEN I HIT ON THE ACCELERATOR, OUT OF THE BLUE, MY VEHICLE SEEMS TO LOSE POWER AND THE EPC CODE ON MY DASHBOARD STARTED FLASHING. THE VEHICLE STARTED CHOKING AND SLOWED DOWN INSTEAD. IN CONFUSION AND THE LOUD HONKING FROM THE VEHICLES BEHIND AND NEXT TO ME, I TURNED MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND SWITCHED TO THE FAR RIGHT LANE. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE LOCAL VW DEALERSHIP IN GERMANY AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND TAKATA AIRBAG BUT IT COULD ONLY BE DONE IN THE STATES. I CONTACTED OMSC AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT VW AMERICA. WHEN I CONTACTED VW AMERICA AND TOLD THEM ABOUT MY SITUATION, I WAS INFORMED I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2021 WHEN I RETURN TO THE U.S. I AM WORRIED FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY FAMILY DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
ENGINE KEEPS STALLING, HAD FUEL PUMP REPLACE PER 4TH RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE CAR STILL STALLS, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I HAVE TWO KIDS IN THE CAR. THE CAR WONT GO IN REVERSE LIKE A NORMAL CAR BC IT STALLS TOO, I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK OFF TO BE ABLE TO REVERSE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A SMALL RAMP ON IN A PARKING GARAGE, THE CAR STALL AGAIN. NO ONE IS ABLE TO HELP ME AND VOLKSAGEN KEEPS TELLING ME MY ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND I KEEP TELLING THEM IT COMES ON WHEN MY CAR STALLS! I FEEL LIKE IM IN A DEATH CAR, I RATHER WALK INSTEAD OF DRIVE MY VOLKSWAGEN AND VERY FRUSTRATING THAT I HAVE TO PAY THIS LOAN WHEN THE CAR CONSTANTLY STALLS ON ME. HARD FOR ME TO TRADE IN AS WELL BC I OWE ABOUT 6K AND IM IN MEDICAL SCHOOL. CAN SOMEONE ANYONE PLEASE GIVE ME TIPS ON HOW TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION.
AFTER A RECALL ON AIRBAG WAS DONE, TWO WEEKS LATER I TOOK THE CAR IN BECAUSE A AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. WAS TOLD ITS CONTROL MODULE FOR PODS ALL, WHICH COSTS $2,357.68. THIS MODULE CONTROLS THE AIRBAGS WHETHER OR NOT THEY GO OFF IN AN ACCIDENT. WELL MINE WENT OUT WITHOUT EVER BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR ONLY HAS 76K MILES AND VW TOLD ME IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHER AIRBAG RECALL AND THAT PART IS ONLY COVERED UNTIL 36K MILES. THIS SUPER EXPENSIVE SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED AT NOT BE PUT UPON A CUSTOMER.
VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT 180K BY VW DEALERSHIP; A PREMIUM SERVICE WAS SELECTED; ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS TAKING IT IN; THE VEHICLE PREVIOUSLY DID TURN OFF WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY ON ITS OWN WHICH THEN NEEDED TO BE RESTARTED. THE CAR JERKED AS IF MY SPARK PLUGS WERE HAVING ISSUES. HAVE HAD TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS FREQUENTLY COMPARED TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE AIR/CAM SENSOR (AS A RECOMMENDATION FROM THE DEALERSHIP) THE CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING SLUGGISH BUT NORMAL PRIOR TO IT GETTING SERVICED. THE CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP AND ENGINE LIGHT WAS CLEARED. CAR WAS DRIVEN ABOUT 35MI FROM DEALERSHIP TO PLACE OF RESIDENCE. CAR PERFORMED NORMAL. NEXT DAY WENT TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START. IT DID START LONG ENOUGH THAT I COULD USE MY OWN CODE READER THE VEHICLE HAD 15 ERRORS ACCORDING TO THE READER. I LET THE CAR SIT FOR A MONTH BEFORE I COULD TOW IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS SERVICED. VW IS NOW SAYING THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. CAMSHAFT IS WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT . ANOTHER POSSIBILITY VW EXPLAINS IS MASSIVE ENGINE FAILURE.
AROUND 8/8/18 I POPPED MY HOOD TO GIVE A GUY A JUMPSTART & SMELLED GAS. THOUGHT THAT WAS AS ODD SO WITH THE HOOD OPENED I STARTED THE CAR. WHEN I RETURNED TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD I NOTICED A STREAM OF GASOLINE COMING OUT OF THE TOP OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP (BOSCH MFG: 06H127025N SKU: 3649). THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE RETAINING CLIP ON THESE FUEL PUMPS AT THE TOP OF THE CONNECTOR ARE KNOWN TO BE WEAK AND GIVE OUT CAUSING LARGE FUEL LEAKS. I'VE NOTICED WHILE RESEARCHING REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT SOME MANUFACTURERS USE BOLTS RATHER THAN A THIN RETAINER CLIP THAT GIVES OUT. AFTER FINDING THIS LEAK I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE GAS CONTINUES TO SPEW OUT EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS OFF, AND AT TIMES STOPS THEN STARTS AGAIN. WHICH COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL FOR THE CONTROL MODULE THAT PLUGS INTO THIS PUMP & STATES IT COULD CONTINUOUSLY RUN, WHICH IS BAD ENOUGH BUT THEN ADD IN THAT THE PUMP THAT IS ALWAYS RUNNING IS KNOWN TO LEAK FUEL, VERY DANGEROUS.
MY CAR WAS ON A LARGE BLVD WITH OTHER CARS IN MOTION WHEN ALL OF A SUDEN WITH OUT NOTICE JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT HAPPENED MANY TIMES BEFORE. I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND NO RESULTS I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE I FEEL LIKE MY CAR IS A DEATH TRAP AND ONE DAY A BIG TRAGEDY CAN OCCUR DEW TO THE FACT THAT THE DEALERSHIP FAILS TO PROVIDE THE RIGHT SERVICE. IT'S AN ONGOING SITUATION FOR MANY YEARS WITH NO RESULTS. I RECEIVED A RECALL ON JUNE 2018 FOR A FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE, DEALERSHIP ASSURED ME THAT WAS THE REASON WHY THE VEHICLE WAS SHUTTING OFF IN MOTION THEY INSTALLED THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE ON JULY 2018 AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING.
FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE REPLACED AND RELOCATED ON JULY 18TH, 2018. HOWEVER, ON AUGUST 3RD, 2018, WHILE DRIVING ALONE IN THE #4 LANE OF THE FREEWAY, MY CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED. NO WARNING. NO CHUGGING. THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS ENOUGH TRAFFIC FOR THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME TO SLOW DOWN TO AVOID ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON WHILE DESPERATELY TRYING TO GET THE CAR TO TURN BACK ON. THANKFULLY IT DID WITHIN A MINUTE OR TWO GIVING ME JUST ENOUGH TIME TO CUT ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM OF WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY WERE PERPLEXED AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST VW DEALERSHIP IF THE ENGINE LIGHT WASN'T FLASHING, WHICH AT THE TIME IT WASN'T. THAT DEALERSHIP TURNED ME AWAY AND TOLD ME I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY REGULAR DEALERSHIP. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE ABOUT 10 MORE MILES BEFORE MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY REGULAR DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY BELIEVE IT MAY BE THE FUEL PUMP. SINCE I HAD THE RECALL COMPLETED PRIOR, I AM VERY FEARFUL THAT I WON'T BE SO LUCKY NEXT TIME. HAD TRAFFIC BEEN GOING AT THE REGULAR SPEED, I BELIEVE I WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. I NEED TO BE REASSURED THAT THESE RECALLS ARE DONE RIGHT AND TESTED TO ENSURE THERE AREN'T FAULTY PARTS AND THAT SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT.
DEALER HAS NOT COMPLETED RECALL IN TIMELY MANNER. KEEPS STATING THAT THEY CAN'T COMPLETE IT. NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 17V509 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER 20AE SUMMARY ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, THERE COULD BE AN INTERRUPTION IN ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. THIS COULD RESULT IN THE FUEL PUMP RUNNING CONTINUOUSLY, RESULTING IN A DRAINED BATTERY AND/OR A NO START CONDITION, OR CAUSE A LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, WHICH COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH CAUSING INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. RECALL STATUS RECALL INCOMPLETE REMEDY REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE AND RELOCATE IT WITHIN THE VEHICLE. SAFETY RISK DESCRPITION A LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH CAUSING INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.
MECHATRONIC UNIT VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH SEEMED AS THOUGH CAR DROPPED GEAR, AUTOMATICALLY DROPPED TO 10MPH, TRIED TO ACCELERATE, BUT ENGINE REVVED AND WOULDN'T INCREASE SPEED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND D (FOR DRIVE) BEGAN FLASHING ON SCREEN, PULLED OVER, SHUT CAR OFF AND WAITED. WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE 2BLICKS TO DEALERSHIP WITH D LIGHT STILL FLASHING. DEALERSHIP RECREATED ISSUE AND DIAGNOSED THE MECHATRONIC UNIT WHICH HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER DSG TRANSMISSIONS IN THE PAST. (2007-2009) WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED JUNE OF 2009, BUT THAT MODEL HADN'T BEEN RECALLED. THIS COULD HAVE KILLED ME IF I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING FASTER. I AM CONCERNED FOR OTHERS SAFETY IF THE CAR CAN JUST STALL OUT WHILE IN MOTION. CAR HAS 112,000 MILES, BUT THE TRANSMISSION ONLY HAS 80K
AFTER BEING PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT THE CAR WOULD NOT START. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED A SLIPPED TIMING CHAIN. AN INTERNET SEARCH REVEALED THIS TO BE A COMMON FAILURE WITH THIS ENGINE DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN OF THE BELT TENSIONER.
I WAS IN MOTION LEAVING WORK AND CAR STALLED..COULD NOT GET IT STARTED.TOOK TO THE SHOP AND DIAGNOSED WITH TIMING BELT FAILURE RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE

BROKEN TIMING CHAIN/BELT. WE WERE LEAVING A RESTAURANT, WHILE IN THE PARKING MOVING FORWARD THE CAR HESITATED....AND THEN STALLED. I RE-STARTED IT AND IT WAS MAKING FUNNY SOUND. I TURNED IT OFF AND ASK FOR HELP PUSHING IT BACK INTO A PARKING SPOT. WE HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL IMPORT REPAIR SHOP FOR DIAGNOSES, WE WERE REFERRED TO A VW DEALER AND TOLD TO RESEARCH CLASS ACTION LAW SUITE REGARDING TIMING CHAIN/BELT FAILURE.
TAKATA AIRBAGS I HAD THE RECALL REPAIR DONE, SHORTLY THERE AFTER THE HORN STOPPED WORKING AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON. VW WANTS TO CHARGE ME JUST TO LOOK AT IT. MY REF # AT VW IS 180415119. FURTHER MORE I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER ON JUNE 14, 2018 AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN TURNING CORNERS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD FLASH ON AND ENGINE WOULD SOMETIMES MISFIRE. I TOOK IT IN TO THE VW DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT IT FOR THE SECOND TIME. THEY PERFORMED DIAGNOSTICS AND THEN WENT TO PULL THE VEHICLE OUT OF SHOP AND IT WOULD NOT START. THEY DETERMINED THE TIMING CHAIN SLIPPED. THANKFUL THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. THE DEALERSHIP MUST DISMANTLE THE ENGINE TO DETERMINE ROOT CAUSE AND PRICE FOR PROPER REPAIRS, WHICH THEY ARE ESTIMATING AS $2,000 TO $5,000 - WHICH IS MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH. WE TOOK GREAT CARE OF THIS CAR INCLUDING SERVICING AS RECOMMENDED. IT HAD 150K MILES, BUT WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THIS CAR FOR MANY MORE MILES. MY SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE FLUCTUATES IN SPEED (MOVES UP AND DOWN RANDOMLY) EVEN WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. ALSO SAME PROBLEM FOR THE TACHOMETER. MY VEHICLE HAD 2 RECALL NOT RESOLVED WITH VOLKSWAGEN. ONE OF THEM IS 20AE FUEL PUMP MODULE RECALL, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSED LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE IN MOTION. I HAD THIS SYMPTOMS 5 TIMES IN A WEEK, WHEN I DRIVE ON THE STREET THE CAR JUST STALLED. VOLKSWAGEN'S DEALER TOLD ME THE REPAIR IS UNAVAILABLE. THEY HAVE NO ESTIMATION HOW LONG I NEED TO WAIT BEFORE THE REPAIR PARTS AVAILABLE. I DEFINITELY DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE RISK TO CONTINUE DRIVING MY CAR. THE CAR IS HESITATING, CHUGGING AND/OR JUMPING IN SLOW TRAFFIC WHEN NEEDING TO HAVE CONTROL OF THE SLOWER SPEED OF CAR ESPECIALLY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. WHILE TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED, MY ENGINE CUT OUT AND LEFT ME WITH NO POWER. I WAS TRAVELLING UP A HILL SO THERE WAS A DRAMATIC DECREASE IN SPEED, CAUSING OTHERS TO SWERVE AROUND ME AS I MADE MY WAY TO THE SHOULDER. FORTUNATELY NO ACCIDENT OCCURED, BUT I FEEL LIKE I WAS LUCKY. I WAS TOWED TO A VW DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE HAD MELTED. NOT ONLY DID THIS CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO STALL, BUT BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE IS LOCATED ABOVE THE FUEL PUMP AND TANK, I WAS LUCKY THE VEHICLE DIDN'T CATCH ON FIRE. I LET THE DEALERSHIP KNOW THAT THE FPCM WAS UNDER A RECALL FOR BEHAVIOR LIKE I EXPERIENCED, BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW, AND FORCED ME TO PAY $998.25 TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE AND THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY, WHICH WAS DAMAGED WHEN THE FPCM MELTED. I'VE LOOKED UP THE TIMING ON THIS RECALL AND THEY SAY THAT A FIX HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED DUE TO A SHORTAGE OF PARTS OR UNKNOWN FIX. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, AS THE FPCM THAT WAS PLACED IN MY VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS FIXED IS A NEW REVISION WHICH ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. IT SEEMS THAT THEY DO HAVE THE PARTS, WHY HAS IT TAKEN OVER 8 MONTHS FROM THE RECALL NOTICE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MOVE IT TO A BETTER LOCATION? THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE EXCALATED AND A FIX NEEDS TO BE ISSUED PROMPTLY. NOT ONLY DO YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH VEHICLES STALLING ON THE ROAD, BUT THE POTENTIAL OF A VIOLENT FIRE IS SIGNIFICANTLY HIGH.
I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT MY VERY 1ST. USED 2010 VOLKSWAGEN CC. AFTER I BOUGHT IT, I REALIZED THAT THE MASTER WINDOW SWITCH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOESN'T WORK. THE CAR IS SHOWING ONLY 45,000 MILES ON IT. SO I WOULD HAVE TO REACH OVER TO THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, TO GET THE WINDOW TO ROLL UP. ALSO, MY HEATER ISN'T WORKING. I HEAR THE FAN RUNNING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS, BUT ONLY COOLAIR COMING OUT. ON TOP OF THAT, THE FABRIC ON THE HEADLINER IS COMING DOWN. I FOUND OUT THAT IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE HEADLINER, YOU HAVE TO GET THE FRONT WINDSHIELD REMOVED TO GET THE HEADLINER OUT. RIDICULOUS! CAR MANUFACTURERS HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR MANY YEARS. CAR HAVE GOT FASTER AND SAFER THROUGHOUT THE YEARS, BUT THE HEADLINERS STILL FALL DOWN. IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE! USE BETTER ADHESIVE, BETTER MATERIAL. TAKE MORE PRIDE IN YOUR PRODUCT.
TIMING CHAIN MALFUNCTION: I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN STARTED FLASHING AND MY CAR STARTED TO MAKE A SOUND LIKE SOMETHING MISFIRED. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. I TRIED RESTARTING MY ENGINE AND IT BARELY STARTED AND CONTINUED TO RATTLE AND SHAKE LIKE SOMETHING AGAIN WAS MISFIRING AND TURNED OFF AGAIN. I TRIED TO RESTART AGAIN AND IT BARELY RESTARTED AND I TRIED HITTING GAS A LITTLE HARDER TO GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO FINALLY MAKE MY TURN AND PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. LUCKILY, THERE WAS A VOLKSWAGEN/AUDI SHOP CALLED "MOTORKARS" LESS THAN A MILE AWAY SO I DORVE MY CAR THERE WHILE THE ENGINE STALLED 2 MORE TIMES. IN HINDSIGHT, I SHOULD HAVE CALLED A TOW AFTER THE INITIAL ENGINE MISHAP BUT SINCE I WAS SO CLOSE I FIGURED IT WOULD BE SAFE ENOUGH TO GET TO THE SHOP. ONCE I GOT THERE, THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY TIMING BELT HAD BROKEN AND DUE TO THIS, THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR INTERNAL ENGINE DAMAGE TO THE CYLINDERS. THEY ARE DOING TEST AS WE SPEAK AND HAVE SAID THEY HAVE SEEN A TON OF THESE ISSUES LATELY WITH CARS WITH THE SAME ENGINE (2.0L GAS TSI ENGINE.) THE SHOP TOLD ME THEY HAVE CAME OUT WITH BETTER PARTS AS THE STANDARD ISSUED PARTS WERE NOT UP TO PAR AND THE TIMING BELT SHOULD USUALLY LAST THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE CAR, YET THEY SEE THEM MALFUNCTIONING RIGHT AROUND 60K-100K MILES. THE ORIGINAL TIMING BELT VW HAS IN THESE ENGINES ARE INEFFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT IS DANGEROUS TO HAVE ON THE ROAD IN ANY CAR.
HORN HAS STOPPED WORKING. DEALER IS SAYING THAT THE REPAIR NEEDED IS REPLACEMENT OF THE CLOCK SPRING, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED YET ON THIS CAR, AND WAS NOT PART OF THE PREVIOUS CLOCK SPRING RECALL (15V483000). CAR HAS HAD A MILD SCRAPING SOUND AROUND THE STEERING WHEEL SINCE I GOT IT AT 12,500 MILES, WHICH IS A KNOWN SYMPTOM OF CLOCK SPRING PROBLEMS. CURRENTLY CAR HAS 105000 MILES. THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL SERVICE WAS PERFORMED VERY RECENTLY, WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. THERE IS NO ERROR LIGHT ON CURRENTLY, AIRBAG OR OTHERWISE. BUT I CANNOT PASS STATE INSPECTION WITHOUT THE HORN WORKING. DUE TO THE ORIGINAL REASON FOR THE CLOCK SPRING RECALL ON THIS MODEL, I AM CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG MAY NOT BE WORKING PROPERLY, AND ADDITIONALLY, THAT THE CAR IS LESS SAFE FOR NOT HAVING A HORN. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED TO GET SERVICE FOR THE PREVIOUS RECALL, DESPITE HAVING A MODEL THAT WAS KNOWN TO HAVE PROBLEMS.

I HAD MY CLOCK SPRING REPLACED LAST YEAR DUE TO THE RECALL, THEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AND MY STEERING WHEAL STARTED DOING A CLICKING SOUND WHEN I STEER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT ALL CONTROL PANELS ON MY STEERING WHEEL STOPPED FUNCTIONING INCLUDING THE HORN. I CALLED VOLKSWAGEN AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME $150 TO ACCESS THE CAR, I TOLD THEM ABOUT CLOCK SPRING AND THEY SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET THAT FIXED. I REALLY DON'T FIND THIS FAIR THAT I HAVE TO PAY TO GET SOMETHING FIXED THAT ORIGINALLY WASN'T DONE CORRECTLY I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD TAKE MORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR WORKMANSHIP. ALSO MY SEATBELT CLAPS DOCENT WORK I CALLED THEM TO SEE IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THEY WOULD FIX BEING A SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY SAID NO. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANINC I WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACED AND WAS QUOTED $8000.00 TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND IT HAS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON IT AND I STILL OWE CLOSE TO 12,000 GRAND ON THE CAR. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THAT VOLKSWAGEN HASN'T PLACED ANY RECALL OR UPDATED THE PART. AFTER GETTING TO THE 100,000 MILE MARKER. MY CAR BEGIN TO HAVE A ROUGH IDLE FROM THE ENGINE BAY THAT COULD ALSO BE FELT FROM WITHIN THE CAR. A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER THAT MY ENGINE STARTED MISFIRING YET AGAIN WE'RE EVEN A WORSE ENGINE ROCK. FINALLY GOT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT'S A BAD TENSIONER CHAIN AND ALSO THAT MY ENGINE HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY THAT. I WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN THE ISSUE WAS THAT INSTEAD OF THE SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS. NOW MY ENGINE IS A GONER AND I'M LEFT WITH A CAR PAYMENT WITH NO VEHICLE DUE TO THE FAULTY CHAIN TENSIONER. I BELIEVE THAT IF THEY WOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM WHEN I TOOK IT IN THEN THEY COULD HAVE SEEN MY ENGINE FROM BLOWING. ALL THEY DID WAS DID A PATCH UP WITH SPARK PLUGS AND COILS

CAR WOULDN'T GO OVER 40. HAVING HARD TIME GOING AND NOTICE LEAK UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR. TOOK TO THE DEALER SAID I NEED A NEW WATER PUMP. IDK IF THAT WAS THE CAR WOULD GO OVER 40 AND HAVE HARD TIME DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING CITY STREET. HAVING TO STOP FOR RED LIIGHTS.

WELL GUESS WHAT HAPPENED MY CLOCK SPRING SURE ENOUGH FAILED 1 MONTH AFTER THE AIR BAG WAS REPLACED. I GUESS VW DID A GREAT JOB MITIGATING THAT DISASTER.
I LEASED THIS IN VW CC SPORT 2010 AND THEN PURCHASED IT FORM VW SO I WAS THE ONLY OWNER TO DATE FOR THIS VEHICLE. SEVERAL TIMES SINCE OWNERSHIP THE BATTERY HAS DIED CAUSED BY SEVERAL REASONS. THE DOORS WERE ABLE TO OPEN BUT NOT THE TRUCK. I PULLED DOWN THE BACK/REAR SEAT TO PULL THE EMERGENCY RELEASE HANDLE IN THE TRUNK BUT COULD NOT REACH IT SO I HAD TO CRAWL INTO THE TRUNK TO PULL THE HANDLE. THE TRUNK SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE OPENED MANUALLY WITHOUT ANY POWER/ELECTRICITY NEEDED. I AM PRESUMING THIS MAY BE A DEFECT IN WIRING DIAGRAM/SCHEMATIC THAT CAUSES THIS ISSUE. UPON MY RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A PRETTY COMMON ISSUE AMONG THE 2008-2013 TSI 2.0T ENGINES. OVER THE YEARS, DEALERSHIPS HAD BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE THROUGH TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS. VW HAD FAILED TO LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW ABOUT IT OR ISSUE A RECALL AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T RUN AND CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY THE OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT TO GET IT FIXED.
CAR HAS REPEATEDLY HAD ISSUES SHIFTING INTO THE PROPER GEAR. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE, A LOUD CLUNKING CAN BE HEARD AND THE CAR SUDDENLY SWITCHES TO NEUTRAL WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ENGAGE ANY GEARS THEREAFTER WITHOUT THE CAR FIRST BEING RESTARTED ENTIRELY. AFTER RESEARCHING AND REACHING OUT TO VW OF AMERICA, IT SEEMS MANY OTHER OWNERS OF VWS WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES, SOME OF WHICH HAVE BEEN RECALLED PREVIOUSLY BY VW, INCLUDING 2010 VW CCS SIMILAR TO MINE. VW OF AMERICAN HAS FAILED TO SEE MY CAR SHOULD FALL WITHIN THE PARAMETERS OF THE ALREADY ISSUED RECALL AND HAS ADVISED ME TO FILE A REPORT HERE. I AM CONCERNED THIS ISSUE WILL POTENTIALLY CAUSE A FAILURE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND COULD BE LIFE THREATENING. THANK YOU.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CLAY COOLEY VOLKSWAGEN RICHARDSON (300 N CENTRAL EXPY, RICHARDSON, TX 75080, (469) 998-4700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TENSIONER CHAIN FRACTURED AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED BECAUSE THE TENSIONER CHAIN FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
