The tire pressure light continues to alert never going away and tire store says it's a sensor but it's causing my tires to get worn quicker and have had 2 blowouts I have tried to get this resolved and repaired by Volkswagen but the customer service employee said I was crazy because they have never had 1 recall on my vehicle and that she was going to report my VIN number for illegal reporting of recalls to have repairs that I want free of charge then proceeded to tell me my kind are liars, stealing from Americans and needed to be taken to my country and I would be in trouble for calling them falsely reporting repairs needed to gain free mechanic repairs so I would not have to come out of pocket.
I was driving on the highway and out of no where it threw its self into neutral and the gear indicator was flashing with a wrench and it can move for like 5 mins then does it again was told the whole MECHtrnical in the transmission
Well first off there was a recall on my year make and model but I guess it only lasted like a couple years .so twice already my fuel pump. Has needed to be replaced.which is what the recall was for .so I was driving In the fast lane on the freeway when out of nowhere my car just stalled putting me and my passenger in risk of being rammed from behind .I've had to take it too a mechanic two or three times so they can fix the same thing . I have the invoice from the repairs . Also I can be driving and the emergency brake will just engage by itself not having been touched by anyone or anything. It puts me and my passenger at risk for whiplash due to the fact that it engages when I'm driving .no warning lite come on I've just felt the jolt almost causing me to hit my head on the windshield. Vehicle stalls when accelerating or traveling at high rates of speed and it will lose power. It bumps and jolts to life. My RPM shoots up and and down. It lags to accelerate when the gas pedal is pressed to accelerate it suddenly jolts. Battery, Epc light, as well as engine light come on immediately.
I have a VW CC 2012 --Vin [XXX]-- I have 87K and since 40K , I am going on my 3rd fuel pump, I only put in Premium gas with a fuel injector cleaner every 6K miles, I am not sure if this warrants investigation but I am putting this out there in case there are similar cars in this class/model. Problem with Vapor Canister. Car won’t fill gas and smells like gas from cabin.
The Power Steering keeps failing while driving. It is available for inspection, ASAP. This is a very dangerous hazard to lose the ability to steer the vehicle at any speed. I have not taken to my mechanic, yet. I have read all sorts of problems with steering since the Takata Air Bag Replacement Recall. Ever since the AirBag Replacement, many of my warning lights have been illuminated. The Dealer told me it is due to the Sensors on my Tires. I see they were previously recalled and now I have a problem with them, too. Right before the Steering Fails, I hear a gone and the Red Steering Wheel Light illuminates. I am then forced to slowly get off the road, barely able to turn the wheel, turn off the vehicle and re-start the engine to get the Power Steering to Re-Set itself. It is happening more and more often. Just went to Doctor appt Friday and it happened five (5) times going to and from Doctor (14 mile round trip). I see Dealers are telling people it is a Clock Spring and they are charing up to $ 6,800. to repair. My car only has 56,000. miles on it !!!
I got this car like 2 months and I had nothing but problems...the check engine light has been on since I bought the car the tire message has been on since I got the car now since this last week I have a red flashing oil. Light come on and it says low oil pressure turn engine off and check the manual something like that. Plus about a month ago I took it to vw dealer ship they fix the exhaust manifold supposedly it was under warranty or something like that so I didnt have to pay and the 2 fuel injectors they replaced also and I cant get my other 2 fuel injectors replaced untill they go out..and I guess that's why I get a light that flashes ECP when I'm driving also...so after all that I still have problems maybe even worse now with the low pressure meaning fuel pump is going out maybe I'm not sure.i do not have anymore money to keep fixing this car I bought like 2 months ago from vison motor sports in tulsa ok...they really screwed me and this is my first car I bought and that I have ever owned....help please thank you..

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND UPON INSPECTION, NOTICED THAT ENGINE OIL NEEDED TO BE ADDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED HENDRICK VOLKSWAGEN FRISCO 5010 TX-121, FRISCO, TX 75034, (469) 342-3493) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN, TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER, AND ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND AGREED TO PARTIALLY COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, SHE SAW SMOKE EMERGING FROM THE VENTS. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POP NOISE AND FIRE BEGAN TO ENGULF FROM THE DASHBOARD. THERE WAS NO CRASH OR INJURIES DUE TO THE FIRE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A IMPOUND LOT. THE CONTACT HAS NOT NOTIFIED LOCAL DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
WATER PUDDING IN DRIVER SIDE FOOTWELL, NO INDICATION OF WHERE THE WATER IS COMING FROM. MOLD GROWTH.
FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT; EPC LIGHT; CAR SHAKING; POWER LOSS; ENGINE MISFIRE. VEHICLE WAS MOVING AROUND 50MPH AT THE TIME.

OIL PRESSURE CHANGE INDICATED ON DASHBOARD STATING, "LOW OIL PRESSURE", THE INDICATOR THEN WENT OUT AND THE 2012 VW CC 2.0 TSI SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES A HOUR. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND MOVED OF THE INTERSTATE UNDER ITS OWN POWER, BUT WAS IDLING ROUGH AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START NOW. THE CODE PULLED FROM THIS VEHICLE NOW READ, P0300, P0302, P0341, P000A, P0016, P0304, P0301, P0011, P0506
I BROUGHT THIS CAR ABOUT 3MONTHS AGO ANDRIVE ONE DAY ABS ERROR SO TOOK TO MECHANIC HE HOOKED TO MACHINE SAY REAR WHEEL DRIVER SIDE WHEEL SENSOR SO GOT THAT CHANGED THEN IT GAVE MORE CODE SAY COMPUTER NOT COMMUNICATING AN ALSO THE OTHER SENSORS OUT AN TCS PLUS STEERING ASST. SO I WENT ONLINE TO FIND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT VW CAN'T EVEN FIX .BUT THERE STILL ALLOWED TO SALE THEM WITH OUT A FIX SO NOW I HAVE TO GUESS IF I HAVE BRAKES OR TCS AN FORGOT THE PARK BRAKE HAS A CODE AS WELL SO WILL ANYBODY FIX THIS PROBLEM OR DO MORE PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE IN CRASH OR WASTE MONEY TAKEN IT TO VOLKWAGAN AN NOT GET IT FIX TO FUNNY AN LIGHTS ON PARKED OR DRIVE CAN'T CLEAR CODES THANKS
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK LAST NIGHT THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING STRANGE KNOCKING NOISES AND THEN STALLED WITH A BLINKING CEL THAT TURNED TO SOLID I RESTARTED THE CAR TWICE IN NEUTRAL (MANUAL TRANSMISSION) IT WAS R MILES FROM MY JOB TO MY HOME THE CAR NOW DOES NOT START AND MAKES A VERY LOUD KNOCKING NOISE THE TIMING CHAIN JUMPED AND NOW MY ENGINE IS COMPLETELY DAMAGED I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED WHEN THE CAR STALLED 3 MILES
REAR TAIL LIGHTING AND TRUCK LATCH FAIL TO OPERATE CAUSING HIGH POSSIBILITY OF BEING STRUCK FROM BEHIND. THIS IS AND HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR YEARS, ALL 2009 TO 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC MODELS HAVE AND CONTINUE TO HAVE THE ISSUE. THE WIRING HARNESS IN THE TRUNK IS OF POOR DESIGN AND QUALITY CAUSING WIRES TO BREAK AND CREATE OPEN SHOTS RESULTING IN NO TAIL LAMP LIGHTING.
I'm part of a class action lawsuit where I was denied after sending all of the pertinent information the attorney's requested. I have all documentation of the correspondence which was requested with contact information to the Volkswagen company and other recipients. The class action is "Engine Water Pump Settlement". The water pump was faulty in this vehicle and many others of this model. It was deemed a safety concern by the federal government of the United States. This has been in progress since 2019.

CAR STUTTERED RIGHT BEFORE I PARKED IN A PARKING SPOT TURNED OFF CAR, WENT IN A STORE CAME BACK OUT AND CAR WOULD NOT START, JUST CRANKS BUT WONT TURN OVER. TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER FAILURE. LOSS OF 4 CYLINDER COMPRESSION. NEED COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 2.0 TURBO ENGINE, DATING BACK TO 2008 I HAVE 86000 MILES.
DRIVING A 2012 VW CC WITH 57,000 MILES. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND ATTEMPTED TO PASS A SLOW MOVING TRUCK. ACCELERATED QUICKLY AND MID PASS THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" WITH ECR LIGHT ACTIVATED ON THE DASH. PULLED OVER SAFELY AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER COLLECTING MYSELF, I STARTED ENGINE TO DRIVE OFF HIGHWAY. CAR WOULD NOT START. I SAT A FEW MOMENTS IN PANIC AND TRIED AGAIN. THE CAR STARTED AND I DROVE WITH ECR LIGHT ON TO NEXT EXIT. THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH WITH LITTLE ACCELERATION. PULLED TO GAS STATION AND TURNED OFF AGAIN. RESTARTED AND THE ENGINE RPMS RAN HIGHER IN IDLE SO I TURNED OFF THE CAR AGAIN. LET IT SIT AND RESTARTED AND DROVE TO AUTO ZONE WHERE THEY DID A CODE TESTER AND WAS TOLD P0229 UNDERBOOST TURBOCHARGER WAS ISSUE. AUTO ZONE EMPLOYEE SAID HE HAD SEEN IT MANY TIMES AND ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2.0 TURBO ENGINES IN VW AND AUDI. THE REPORT IS ATTACHED. AUTO ZONE RESET THE ECR LIGHT AND THE CAR WAS DRIVEN TO FINAL DESTINATION INTO ARIZONA WITH NO ADDITIONAL ISSUES YET. VOLKSWAGEN RECALLED CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012, CC VEHICLES, FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLES SAFETY STANDARD NO. 138, "TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS). VEHICLE IN QUESTION CURRENTLY IS EXPERIENCING AN ISSUE WITH THIS SYSTEM. VOLKSWAGEN SHOULD EXTEND THIS RECALL TO THIS VEHICLE AND OTHERS LIKE IT. SPECIFICALLY THE TPMS SENSOR WILL NOT DETECT PRESSURE IN TIRES AFTER TIRE REPLACEMENT OR ROTATION AND THERE IS NO WAY TO RESET SYSTEM.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE VEHICLE TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP AND HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED. A YEAR LATER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING. WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF POLICE, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. WHILE AT THE MECHANIC, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A FIRE OCCURRING WITHIN HIS VEHICLE CLOSE TO HIS GAS TANK WHICH WAS CAUSED BY HIS FUEL PUMP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE, THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. A DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED HIS FAILURE T6O NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A MEGATRONIC MODULE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED AT HER EXPENSE SINCE THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOZZANI VOLKSWAGEN (LOCATED AT 528 S CITRUS AVE, COVINA, CA 91723, (626) 921-5160) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MECHATRONIC UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,798.
VARIOUS ALERTS FOR DIFFERENT LIGHTS, LEFT FRONT SIDE LIGHT, RIGHT REAR SIDE LIGHT, GAS CAP, DRIVERS WINDOW WON'T ROLL ALL THE WAY UP, CLOCK RESETS BY ITSELF TO WRONG TIME.
KNOCK SENSOR
THE 2.0T TSI ENGINE WAS MADE WITH A FAULTY TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER WHICH WILL FAIL AND CAUSE THE TIMING CHAIN TO BREAK CAUSING IMMEDIATE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE PUTTING THE DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS IN DANGER BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER AND DIFFICULTY STEERING. I AM EXTREMELY BLESSED THAT I NOTICED THE CAR WAS ACTING FUNNY AND EXITED OFF THE HIGHWAY. IT'S RIDICULOUS TO ME HOW THE TIMING CHAIN COULD CAUSE THAT MUCH DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE OBVIOUSLY HAS BEEN CREATED WITH A FAULTY DESIGN, SO NOW I'M EXPECTED TO PAY TO REPLACE A FAULTY ENGINE WITH ANOTHER FAULTY ENGINE. IT'S EXTREMELY UPSETTING THAT AFTER I SENT MY VEHICLE IN FOR ISSUES WITH A RECALL, FUEL PUMP, THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD JUST SELF DESTRUCT LIKE THIS

I TOOK MY CAR TO GUNTHER VOLKSWAGEN OF FORT LAUDERDALE 1660 S STATE RD 7, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33317 (954) 420-7374. THEY REFUSED TO CHANGE THE TAKATA AIRBAG I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT CONNECT THEIR EQUIPMENT . I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO PAY FOR THEM TO DO DIAGNOSTICS ON MY CAR. THEY WOULDN'T EVEN CHECK THE PROBLEM WITHOUT PAYING. I TOLD THEM THAT I COULD NOT AFFORD ANY REPAIRS AND THIS WAS A RECALL. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR WITHOUT PAYING. SO I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH THE SAME AIRBAG. I CANNOT AFFORD THESE REPAIRS SO THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THIS AIRBAG SITUATION. I ALREADY CALLED THE VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA AND THEY ARE NO HELP. IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATED IT.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO PIAZZA VOLKSWAGEN OF ARDMORE (150 W LANCASTER AVE, ARDMORE, PA 19003, (610) 896-8600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
STALLING, AND WILL START AND STALL - EPC LIGHT ON DASH
TAKATA RECALI I ASKED BOARDWALK VOLKSWAGEN(1 BAIR ISLAND RD, REDWOOD CITY, CA 94063) TO HELP ME TO ADDRESS TAKATA RECALL. HOWEVER, THEY JUST SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE RELATED PARTS, AND DO NOT RESPONSE ME AGAIN. IT SEEMS THAT THEY WON'T HELP TO ADDRESS THE TAKATA RECALL, WHICH IS A VERY SEVERE RECALL. I FEEL VERY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THEIR RESPONSES.

THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT GRAY COLORED EXHAUST FUMES WERE PRESENT COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THERE HAS BEEN MULTIPLE TIMES I CAME CLOSE TO GETTING IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO BEING UNABLE TO USE MY HORN. MY HORN AND CONTROLS NOT WORK DUE TO THE CLOCK SPRING HARNESS. THE VW CLOCK SPRING WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE FIX DUE TO MY AIRBAG LIGHT NOT BEING ON YET. MY HORN NOT WORKING ALONE IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO SEE IT THAT WAY.
MY 2012 VW CC IS IN THE SHOP AS I WRITE THIS AS IT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED WITH A DEFECTIVE TIMING CHAIN/TENSIONER. IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE MY ENGINE HAD CATASTROPHIC FAILURE LIKE THE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS VW HAS ACKNOWLEDGED. MY MODEL IS LISTED ON THE RELATED VW SETTLEMENT SITE AS PART OF THE AFFECTED MODELS BUT YET MY VIN HAS BEEN APPARENTLY LEFT OUT OF THE SETTLEMENT SO I HAVE TO PAY ON MY OWN. NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN TO ME WHY MY CAR IS BEING EXCLUDED WHEN IT HAS THE PROBLEM PARTS VW HAS CONCEDED TO. I THINK VW DELIBERATELY TAMPERED WITH THE NUMBERS OF THE VEHICLES AFFECTED TO CUT DOWN ON SETTLEMENT COSTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN WAS NOT WORKING BECAUSE THE CLOCKSPRING WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHARLES MAUND VOLKSWAGEN (6900 BURNET RD, AUSTIN, TX 78757, (512) 458-1111) TO BE REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL PERTAINING TO THE CLOCKSPRING. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN A FEW DAYS. WHEN THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER, THEY WANTED TO CHARGE $1,000 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE CLOCKSPRING RESET. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CLOCKSPRINGS WERE DESIGNED FAULTY, BUT THEY AND THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR A NEW PART. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR APPROXIMATELY NINE MONTHS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN LAST WEEK, BUT HAD NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
THE CAR HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT AND ONE DAY I STARTED THE CAR IN THE MORNING AND IT WAS QUITE AS IT SHOULD BE THEN IT STARTED IT TO MISFIRING AND START TO SHUT OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND THE DEALER, THEY BOTH CONFIRMED THAT THE TIMING BELT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND I SHOULDN'T BE STARTING THE CAR UNTIL I GET IT FIXED. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS MAJOR PROBLEM WILL OCCUR ON A CAR THAT HAS A LOW MILEAGE LIKE MINE.
HOOD LATCH PREVENTS HOOD FROM OPENING. VW KNOWS THIS PROBLEM IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR IT WITHOUT A CHARGE OF $250 INCLUDING THE PART. THE COOLING SYSTEM HAS A ERROR LIGHT GLOWING WHEN THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THE WARNING SYSTEM SHOWS VARIOUS PARTS AS MALFUNCTRONING BUT APPEARS THE DIAGNOSTIC MODULE IS AT FAULT.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED TO GET THE BRAKE LIGHTS REPAIRED AND KEEP THE RECEIPTS TO GET REIMBURSED IN THE EVENT A RECALL WAS ISSUED. VOLKSWAGEN OF FREDERICKSBURG (5208 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, FREDERICKSBURG, VA 22408, (540) 898-1600) STATED THAT THERE WAS A WIRING MALFUNCTION IN THE TRUNK, WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO GO OUT. THE CONTACT FOUND OUT THAT THE DEALER MISLED HER ON OTHER MAINTENANCE ISSUES. THE CONTACT NO LONGER TRUSTED THE DEALER AND HAD THE LIGHTS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000. *BF *TP
FRONT END CRASH WITH SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO FRONT BUMPER CENTER. NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IN VEHICLE BUT SMELL OF AIRBAG PROPELLANT.
ENGINE IS TURNING OVER BUT ONLY STARTING OCCASIONALLY. WHEN IT DOES START, THE EPC AND CHECK ENGINE/CATALYTIC CONVERTER LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED. THIS IS HAPPENING NOW AFTER I HAD TO FIGURE OUT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED...BEFORE THERE WAS A RECALLED ISSUED AT MY OWN EXPENSE. CAR RAN FINE EARLIER TODAY, THEN WHEN TRYING TO LEAVE MY HOUSE, TOOK AN EXTENDED TIME TO START. SHUT IT OFF TO SEE IF IT WAS A GLITCH, AND DIDN'T START AT ALL.
I EXPERIENCED A LEAK FROM THE WATER PUMP WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT HE ALWAYS SEES THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH THE VOLKSWAGENS BECAUSE VOLKSWAGEN USES PLASTIC PARTS AND THESE PARTS ARE OFTEN AROUND THE HIGHLY HEATED AREAS IN THE ENGINE THEREFORE THEY FAIL. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO WILL BE DRIVING BACK AND FORTH TO COLLEGE AND I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT HER SAFETY IF VW IS USING INADEQUATE PARTS IN THEIR CARS. ALSO, REPAIR COSTS ARE UNIMAGINABLE, $1000, ONLY TO BE REPLACED WITH THE SAME PLASTIC PART. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF THE TAIL LIGHT CASINGS BECAUSE IT TOO WAS MADE OF PLASTIC AND THE TAIL LIGHT LAMP BURNED INTO THE PLASTIC AND CEASED TO LIGHT. WE HAVE ALSO HAD THIS CAR IN FOR TWO DIFFERENT PARTS RECALLS, AIRBAG X 2, AND FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, EPC AND ENGINE WARINGING SIGNS WERE ON ALL OF SUDDEN. I CHECKED WITH LOCAL REPAIR SHOP IN SOLVANG, CA. THEY SAID, THEY WANTED TO ADD 2 QUARTS OF ENGINE OIL AND CHECK. AFTER THEN, THEY SAID THERE WERE LOUD NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AND THEN ENGINE DIED. MY CAR TOWED TO NEARBY VW DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP DID DIAGNOSTICS TEST AND SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACE AN ENGINE.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE UPHILL WHEN I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE COME FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I MANAGED TO PULL INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND PARK AND DIDN'T THINK MUCH ABOUT IT. A FEW HOURS LATER WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK VERY LOUDLY BUT WOULD NEVER TURN OVER. I ASSUMED IT MIGHT BE THE OIL SO I CHANGED IT, FILLED IT WITH GAS SINCE IT WAS A BIT ON THE LOW SIDE, AND FINALLY HAD A NEIGHBOR CHARGE THE BATTERY WITH THEIRS IN CASE IT MIGHT BE THE BATTERY. FROM FEAR THAT I MIGHT FURTHER DAMAGE THE ENGINE I WAITED A WHILE BEFORE TRYING AGAIN. WHEN I DID NOTHING HAD CHANGED. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CALL A MECHANIC AND AFTER HIM HAVING NOT A CLUE WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM I RESORTED TO HAVING THE CAR TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 2 HOURS AWAY IN SANTA MONICA, CA. ONE DAY LATER, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE VW DEALERSHIP INFORMING ME THAT MY TIMING CHAIN HAD UNEXPECTEDLY BROKEN AND FURTHER DAMAGED A FEW VALVES/PISTONS/ETC. WHEN I ASKED HOW IT MIGHT'VE HAPPENED THEY DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER FOR ME BUT INSTEAD TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME UPWARDS OF $5,000 TO EVEN BEGIN REPARATIONS. AFTER A BIT OF MY OWN RESEARCH ONLINE I DISCOVERED THAT TIMING CHAINS SHOULD USUALLY LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR AND NEVER BREAK THAT SOON. I ALSO READ THAT VW HAS BEEN SOMEWHAT KNOWN TO HAVE FAULTY TIMING CHAINS AND THAT MY BEST BET WAS TO FILE SOME SORT OF COMPLAINT. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF HAVING TO GET THE TIMING CHAIN CHECKED NOR WAS I WAS THAT SUCH AN INCIDENT COULD OCCUR. AS A WAY OF HOPEFULLY NOT HAVING TO SPEND NEARLY WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH FOR A DAMAGE NOT INCURRED BY MYSELF I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT.
MY LEFT TIRE BLEW OUT AND I HAD NO FLAT TIRE INDICATOR ON MY DASHBOARD WHILE TRAVELLING FULL SPEED ON THE FREEWAY. THE NEXT DAY MY ENGINE STALLED WITH NO WARNING OF LOW/NO OIL IN MY CAR. BOTH OF THE ISSUES COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATALITY OR MULTIPLE FATALITIES WHEN A 2012 VW CC LUXURY JUST STOPS WITH NO WARNING. I HAVE CALLED VW CORPORATE AND OF COURSE THEY STATED THEY CANNOT HELP ME SINCE THIS REPAIR IS NOT A RECALL ITEM: HOWEVER, I SEE TONS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE 2.0 ENGINE IN MY CAR MANUFACTURED BY VW. THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY AND NOT IGNORED. VW NEEDS TO COVER MY ENGINE COST AT 100% THEY KNOW IT IS FAULTY AND TO COMPLETELY IGNORE ALL THE COMPLAINTS BEFORE MINE IS ASININE.
ON 25 JULY 2018, CURRAN VOLKSWAGEN, INC CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP MODULE THAT NOW CAUSES AN INTERRUPTION IN POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE MAKING THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE DRIVING.
