VEHICLE HAS 47500 MILES AND ALL SERVICES ARE DONE AT SCHEDULED INTERVALS. WAS INFORMED THAT THE LOWER TIMING COVER & TENSIONER NEED REPLACEMENT ALONG WITH UPPER TIMING COVER & CAM GIRDLE. COST IS OVER $2000. THIS SHOULD NOT BE DEFECTIVE WITH THIS MANY MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE DEALER (NORTH PARK VOLKSWAGEN, 21315 INTERSTATE 10 WEST, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, 78257) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
MY CAR STOPPED RUNNING AND THEN I RECIEVED A LETTER SAYING IT HAD A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. WELL WE THOUGHT THAT IS WHAT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT AS IT TURNS OUT NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP ITSELF. AFTER THEY FIXED THE PART MY CAR STARTED TO SMELL LIKE GASOLINE AND WAS TOO SCARED TO DRIVE IT.THIS COULD HAVE BE AVOIDED IF THEY WOULD HAVE NOT HAD THIS RECALL.
(1) FIRST OF ALL, I APOLOGIZE IF I DON'T DESCRIBE CLEARLY BECAUSE ENGLISH IS MY SECOND LANGUAGE. I WILL DO MY BEST. MY CAR IS 2012 VW CC. (2) RECEIVED AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL IN JUNE 2018 AND TRIED TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT, BUT STAFF AT VW AT AUTO PARK, CARY, NC RESPONDED THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AND NO ONE IN THEIR COMPANY KNOWS WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS. SHE ASKED US TO CALL BACK IN A WEEK. SO WHY DID THEY SEND ME A LETTER TO INCREASE MY ANXIETY FOR THE FUTURE DRIVING? THANKS TO NHTSA, I FOUND OUT THIS IS A RECALL ISSUED ON AUGUST 2017, BUT I RECEIVED THIS LETTER ALMOST A YEAR LATER. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT VW COMPANY DOESN'T TAKE RECALLS SERIOUSLY AND ENDANGERS CUSTOMERS' LIVES. (3) I ALSO HAVE A RECALL FOR AIRBAG SHOWN ON THIS NHTSA. IN APRIL OF 2016, THEY SENT ME A RECALL LETTER. WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID THAT IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE, JUST FOUND OUT THEY HAVE THE PARTS, BUT NEVER TRIED TO INFORM ME. NO FOLLOW UP SERVICE. (4) ONE INCIDENT THAT OCCURED TO ME IN MAY 2017, THE COMPUTER OF THE CAR WENT DEAD WHILE I WAS IN A PARK LOT. FORTUNATELY, IT DID NOT GO OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. ACCORDING TO THEM, THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE UPGRADED FOR A MALFUNCTION AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR IT. MY HUSBAND AND I WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO THE MANAGEMENT TO GET A DIRECT ANSWER OF THE DETAILS, BUT THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US ANY CONTACT PHONE NUMBER INCLUDING THE HEAD OFFICE OF VW. (5)IN CONCLUSION, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH VW AT AUTO PARK, CARY, NC. ESPECIALLY THE WAY THAT THE STAFFS REPRESENT THEIR COMPANY. THIS LOCATION'S SERVICE AND CULTURE WERE REALLY BAD FROM THE LAST FEW YEARS I HAD GOTTEN. I CHOSE TO GET SERVICE THERE ONLY BECAUSE IT'S THE CLOSEST VW LOCATION. NO OTHER REASONS. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WOULD NOT TURN ON. I TOOK IT TO TWO VW SERVICES DEALERSHIP ONE SAID I WOULD CHARGE $1800 JUST TO OPEN UP AND LOOK THE OTHER TOLD ME IT'S THE TIMING CHAIN ENGINE LOST ALL COMPRESSIONS NEW ENGINE IS NEEDED. I JUST PAID THE CAR OFF . NO EXTREME LEAKS WOULD TO HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THERE ARE LAWSUITS ABOUT THIS MATTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REASONABLE TIMEFRAME TO PROVIDE THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

MY CAR ENGINE BROKE DOWN ALL OF A SUDDEN WITHOUT GIVING ANY ENGINE LIGHT WARNING. I HAD TO TOW MY CAR TO A VOLKSWAGEN DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR AND SAID THAT IT DID NOT HAVE ANY ENGINE OIL IN IT AND BECAUSE OF WHICH TIMING BELT RIPPED OFF AND DAMAGED ALL THE PISTONS. THIS WAS VERY VERY UNEXPECTED BECAUSE IT DID NOT GIVE ME ANY ENGINE LIGHT ON. IF ENGINE OIL IS LOW IT SHOULD HAVE GIVEN A WARNING LIGHT TO CATCH MY ATTENTION. VERY FORTUNATELY IT HAPPENED IN MY COMMUNITY AND DID NOT HAPPEN ON BUSY HIGHWAY WITH MY BABY ON BOARD. I CANNOT IMAGINE THAT HAPPENING WITH BABY ON BOARD ON INTERSTATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VOLKSWAGEN OF ANN ARBOR (2565 S STATE STREET, ANN ARBOR, MI 48104, 734-761-3201) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE SYMPTOMS RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER17V509: I HAD MY EPC DASH LIGHT FOR MY VEHICLE TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO MY JOB ON 6/14/18 . THE DRIVE WAS REALLY ROUGH AND BUMPY AND THE EXHAUST WAS FUMING WITH EMISSIONS FROM THE BACK.I EVENTUALLY GOT TO MY JOB, OFFED MY CAR AND HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC ON 6/18/18 WHERE HE FOUND THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS FAULTY. HE CHARGED ME $323.30 OUT THE DOOR FOR THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND LABOR. I CONTACTED VW TO SEEK FOR REIMBURSEMENT ON 6/22/18 BUT WAS TOLD THERE IS A "PENDING RECALL" AND THAT IT HAS NOT BECOME ACTIVE YET SO THEY CANNOT ISSUE ME A REIMBURSEMENT UNTIL THEN. AS PER NHTSA THIS RECALL WAS KNOWN SINCE 8/16/17 AND IT HAS NOW BEEN NEARING A YEAR WITHOUT ANY RESOLUTION. I AM SEEKING TO GET MY AMOUNT REIMBURSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND HOPING THAT NHTSA WILL BE ABLE TO ASSIST IN THIS.

THE TRUNK STOPPED WORKING ALONG WITH THE FOG LIGHTS AND REVERSE LIGHTS ON THE TRUNK. IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN HAPPENING MANY CC AND IS A MANUFACTURING DESIGN IS FAULTY. HOPING THAT OTHER ARE REPORTING THE FLAW TOO.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING ON THE VOLKSWAGEN CC. INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE CLOCK SPRING IN MY CAR, THERE WAS A TEMPORARY 'RUBBER BAMD' PLACED ON THE STEERING WHEEL CLOCK. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, THE ENTIRE STEERING WHEEL CLOCK BROKE AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. I CANNOT USE ANY OF THE FUNCTIONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED ACCORDING TO THE RECALL AND IT'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AFTER 6 MONTHS OF TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE ISSUE AFTER THE RECALL. WENT BACK TO DEALER AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME TO FIX THE ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PALMETTO 57 VOLKSWAGEN (16825 NW 57TH AVE, MIAMI GARDENS, FL 33055, (305) 760-9527), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
FAULTY CLOCK SPRING CAUSING HORN AND STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS NOT TO WORK. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THE FACT THAT MY HORN NEVER WORKS. WHEN IN DAILY TRAFFIC WHERE I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO HONK MY HORN TO PREVENT SOMEONE FROM HITTING ME, MY LIFE IS AT RISK WITH THIS WELL KNOWN VW ISSUE.
ON 4/16/18 I WAS ON MY WAY TO LUNCH, I PULLED UP TO AN INTERSECTION WHERE THE LIGHTS WERE FLASHING. WHEN IT WAS MY TURN TO GO, I PUSHED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR DIED THAT'S WHEN I NOTICED MY CAR WAS STALLED. LUCKILY, TWO GENTLEMEN STOPPED AND PUSHED OUT OF THE WAY WHILE I WAS GETTING AHOLD OF MY HUSBAND. WHEN MY HUSBAND ARRIVED WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE CAR SAFELY OFF OF THE ROAD AND TO HIS OFFICE (WHICH IS ABOUT A 1/2 MILE FROM WHERE I WAS). HOWEVER, WHEN HE WENT TO LEAVE LATER THAT AFTERNOON MY CAR WOULDN'T NOT START BUT STILL HAD POWER TO EVERYTHING (RADIO, WINDOWS, DOOR LOCKS, SEATS, ETC.). WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CAR SUFFERED "CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE" AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE DID NOT FAIL DUE TO NEGLECT. SOMETHING INSIDE THE ENGINE BROKE - WE BELIEVE IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER. MY MECHANIC HAS QUOTED ME ON 4/27/18 WITH A QUOTE OF ALMOST $10,000 TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. THIS QUOTE IS FOR A USED ENGINE WITH 70,000 MILES AND WHO'S TO SAY THAT IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. MY CURRENT ENGINE HAS ROUGHLY 86,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE CONTACTED VW AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR AS IT'S OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY OF THE DRIVETRAIN. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS THAT VW KNOWS ABOUT THIS SITUATION AND IS STILL NOT WILLING TO HELP.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTICE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING MY 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28TH AROUND 9 PM WHEN HE CAME UP TO A RED LIGHT ON A CITY STREET AND STOPPED. HE THOUGHT THE CAR ENGINE STALLED. HOWEVER, THE ENGINE DIED. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND HAD TO PUSH THE CAR OUT OF THE ROADWAY INTO A NEARBY RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. HE CALLED ME AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. WE LEFT THE CAR PARKED OVERNIGHT AND HAD TO CAR TOWED TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON TO INFORM ME THAT THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE IN THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE IS SHOT. MY VOLKSWAGEN CC HAS APPROXIMATELY 146,500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE ALWAYS BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE TO BOARDMAN VOLKSWAGEN AND I EVEN ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR ONE TIME IF THE "TIMING BELT" NEEDED REPLACED ON THAT CAR BECAUSE THEY HAD A COUPON THAT THEY WOULD HANG ON THE REARVIEW MIRROR FOR A 15% OFF DISCOUNT. A SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS WALKING THROUGH THE SERVICE DESK AREA WHEN I ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT THE TIMING BELT, AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID "YOU OWN THE VOLKSWAGEN CC THAT I JUST DID THE OIL CHANGE ON, CORRECT?." I SAID YES, AND HE SAID "YOU HAVE A TIMING CHAIN IN THAT CAR, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO EVER CHANGE THE BELT, IT DOESN'T HAVE A TIMING BELT". I SAID OK AND THOUGHT THAT I WAS GOOD. WELL, AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH NOW AFTER MY ENGINE FAILURE, IT SEEMS THAT A LOT OF VOLKSWAGEN OWNERS WITH 2.0 LITER ENGINES HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM AS I DO. I FOUND ONLINE THAT THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER SEEMS TO BE FAULTY IN MANY CASES AND VOLKSWAGEN DOES NOT WANT TO ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE IT WOULD BE TOO COSTLY. I NOW HAVE TO PAY ANYWHERE FROM $4000 TO $6000 FOR MY ENGINE TO BE REPLACED. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT A CHAIN IN THE ENGINE SHOULD BREAK UNLESS IT WAS DEFECTIVE. IN WHICH CASE, VOLKSWAGEN SHOULD BE WILLING TO COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR. *TT *TR
VW TIMING BELT WAS REPLACED AT 50000 MILES, NOW NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AT 114000 WHICH IS CAUSING CHAIN TO SKIP TEETH. ENGINE RATTLES NOW. VW WARNED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND DO NOT DRIVE BECAUSE ENGINE CAN FAIL COMPLETELY. VW WILL NOT COVER THE FAULTY CHAIN. 2 CHAINS UNDER 120000 MILES, WHICH MANUAL SAYS WILL NOT NEED SERVICE UNTIL 120000.
TRIED TO START THE CAR AND THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER FAULTED CAUSING THE VALVES TO BREAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF PARKED ON A CITY STREET AND NOT IN MOTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM) IN OCTOBER OF 2017. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.

THE CONTACT INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER THAT SHE NO LONGER WANTED THE VEHICLE AND WANTED THE DEALER TO BUY IT BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN UNKNOWN RECALL LETTER FROM VOLKSWAGEN AND CALLED WALKER VOLKSWAGEN (8933 VETERANS MEMORIAL BLVD, METAIRIE, LA 70003, (504) 465-2000). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO WARRANTY LEFT AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT GIVE HIM BACK THE FULL AMOUNT THAT WAS GIVEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE BRAKES SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ABS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. AS OF 2/20/2018, VW DOES NOT HAVE A DATE WHEN A FIX WILL BE AVAILABLE. I WANT TO TRADE IN THE CC TO BUY AN AUDI, BUT THE AUDI DEALER WON'T TAKE A TRADE-IN SINCE THERE IS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL ON THE CC. WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?
PURCHASED MY CAR AND WENT TO FILL UP WITH GAS. AFTER FUELING THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER 10 MINUTES THE CAR STARTED SO I DROVE BACK TO THE DEALER. ONLY A 5 MINUTE DRIVE. THE CAR THEN DIED WHILE MOVING AT 40 MPH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. THE DEALER CLEARED THE CODES AND THE CAR DROVE OUT. THEN WAS GETTING GAS AGAIN A WEEK LATER AND THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED. WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY STREET TURNING AND THE VEHICLE DIED AGAIN.
VEHICLE PURCHASED WITH 112,000 MILES. AT 119,000 THE CAR WOULDN'T START RANDOMLY AFTER DRIVING IT ALL DAY. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I WAS LEAVING TO RUN AN ERRAND AND IT WOULDN'T START. TWO DAYS LATER I HAD IT TOWED IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE FOUND A PROBLEM WITH TIMING CHAIN AND HEAD GASKET. WE ARE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING IT FULLY DIAGNOSED, AND A PRICE ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH WHICH INDICATES THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN VOLKSWAGEN MODELS LIKE MINE. VOLKSWAGEN IS ALSO AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER ABOUT IT.

VW CLOCK SPRING RECALL INVESTIGATION DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 35-40 MPH AND THE CAR BEEPS WITH "ERROR: AIRBAG" THEN THE STEERING WHEEL MADE A WEIRD NOISE. MY CAR HAS LEFT ME STRANDED TWICE. IT ALL STARTED WHEN MY FUEL PUMP STARTED TO LEAK GAS ALL OVER MY CAR. ONCE I GOT THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED. I LEFT THE CAR OVER NIGHT AND CAME BACK TO IT THE NEXT DAY IT STARTED UP JUST FINE WITH NO EPC LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I PICKED MY CAR UP ON OCT 30TH. IT RAN FINE WITH NO HESITATION UP UNTIL THE MORNING OF 11/10/17. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY MY CAR LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY EPC LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND BATTERY LIGHT ALL CAME ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER AGAIN. I REACHED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT CUSTOMER CARE THROUGH VOLKSWAGEN. WHEN I REACHED OUT TO CUSTOMER CARE ALL THEY TOLD ME WAS TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME BECAUSE THE RECALL IS NOT COMPLETE. NOW, I AM TOLD THE FOLLOWING BY TREND MOTORS IN DENVILLE NEW JERSEY - THE PLACE I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO FOR SERVICE, THAT I NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE FOLLOWING ARE TREND MOTORS IN DENVILLE'S EXACT WORDS FROM SERVICE WRITE-UP: "CHECK OIL PRESSURE:PRESSURE AT IDLE IS OK. ROAD TEST AND RECHECK WARM, OK. BASICALLY, I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE OIL WAS LEAKING IN TO THE ENGINE, SO THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE OIL PAN BUT IT WASN'T THE OIL PAN. I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN TO TREND MOTORS IN DENVILLE BECAUSE AN OIL CAN LIGHT APPEARED WHEN I WAS TAKING IT IN TO THEM BECAUSE AN ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON TOO. THIS SAME CAR ALSO HAD A HORN ISSUE WHERE THE HORN STOPPING WORKING. I CALLED VOLKSWAGEN CUSTOMER SERVICE TO REQUEST A GOOD FAITH PAYMENT AND I AM WAITING FOR A CALL BACK. VOLKSWAGEN SAID THERE CARS HAVE LONGEVITY BUT IT IS CLEAR THEY ARE NOT AS RELIABLE AS OTHER CARS. I HAVE A TOYOTA PRIUS WITH 250K MILES AND THE LARGEST COST I RECEIVED ON MY TOYOTA WAS WHEN I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AT ONCE. IF VOLKSWAGEN CAN'T GO MUCH PAST THE WARRANTY THEY SHOULD BE MADE TO SAY THIS ON THEIR MONRONEY LABEL.

ENGINE APPEARED TO HAVE ACCELERATION AND TIMING ISSUES. TOOK TO LOCAL SHOP FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND TO LOOK INTO ISSUE. WAS INFORMED THAT ALL MY MISFIRE ISSUES WERE NOT FROM IGNITION COILS AS PREVIOUSLY FIXED BY VW DEALER BUT THAT IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN. ENGINE ONLY HAS 108K MILES (ALL HIGHWAY COMMUTER) AND STILL OWE MONEY ON LOAN. SHOP INFORMED ME THAT ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE COMPLETELY TORN APART TO SEE ALL THE DAMAGE THAT'S BEEN DONE BUT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO JUST REPLACE WITH USED ENGINE. I HAVE NO GOOD OPTIONS SINCE $6K IS STILL OWED ON VEHICLE, NO WARRANTY AND NO MEANS OF REPLACING MOTOR. VW IS AWARE OF ISSUE. SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND IT APPEARS TO BE COMMON ENOUGH TO HAVE MADE SEVERAL ONLINE FORUMS AND AFTERMARKET COMPANIES TO SELL UPGRADED PREVENTATIVE REPLACEMENT PART.
