NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2015 Volkswagen GTI. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Bought car recently and it came from the dealer with an exlamation point light, audible warning and message in the screen saying "ERROR: Service vehicle. Only leave vehicle in P position". i can also take my key out of the car when not in park. im pretty sure it is a microswitch or entire gear shifter mechanism depending. It is the same thing that happened for Compliance Recall 37L5. copying and pasting info regarding 37L5. Compliance Recall 37L5 – Shift Lever Micro Switch What vehicles are included in Compliance Recall 37L5? Certain 2015-2018 model year Volkswagen Golf and Golf SportWagen vehicles. What is the concern for Compliance Recall 37L5? Over time, a build-up of silicate on the shift lever micro switch contacts can make it possible to remove the key from the ignition switch without the shift lever being in the "P" Park position. This makes the vehicle noncompliant with 49 CFR 571.114 Standard No. 114 Theft protection and rollaway prevention. If the ignition key is removed without the shift lever being in the "P" Park position, there is a risk that the vehicle may roll away, resulting in a crash that could injure people and damage property. What is the repair for Compliance Recall 37L5? When parts become available, dealers will install an additional switch and circuit board. The recall repair will be FREE. *** old, parts are probably out now When will the repair for Compliance Recall 37L5 be available? This recall repair is not yet available. *outdated, probably available already Are there any precautions I should take because my vehicle is part of Compliance Recall 37L5? Yes. If this condition is present in the vehicle, an audible warning sound and failure message may appear in the instrument cluster. If this happens, owners are advised to contact an authorized Volkswagen dealer immediately and make arrangements to have the vehicle serviced.
Recall service was performed on the fuel system. The vehicle was operating normally before the recall. Shortly after the recall service, the fuel gauge failed and became stuck at mid-level. Dealer refuses to cover the repair and claims it is unrelated, but the timing and failure of another fuel system component suggests otherwise. This presents a safety issue because the driver cannot determine fuel level or range and may impact other recalled vehicles and should be included in the repair of the fuel system. The recall that was performed on the vehicle was "Safety Recall 20UF - Suction Jet Pump". I believe the timing of the failure suggests that the recall work impacted the vehicle fuel system and I don't believe it's fair for customers following safety recalls to be punished and required to pay for further damages caused from a recall on the vehicle.
I purchased a vehicle from a dealer and there was an open recall for said vehicle. I was looking on the NHTSA.gov website and discovered a document mentioning that it is illegal for a dealership to sell a vehicle with an open & not fixed recall, prior to selling said vehicle. I am not entirely sure what this means for me and my vehicle but, I wanted to submit a claim just in case. Please contact me back if you require more information. I have scheduled a service at a certified Volkswagen dealership in my area to repair the suction jet pump recall for next Thursday (March 6) but, am afraid to drive the car until then as I started experiencing issues 2 days after the purchase of my GTI. Thank you.
The contact owned a 2015 Volkswagen GTI A7. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, while accelerating from a stop the vehicle was involved in a front collision caused by loose gravel on the road. The contact stated she lost control and drove into a ditch that struck a concrete culvert. The contact sustained minor injuries such as bruises on her elbows, knees, and head but did not require medical attention. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot which was then towed to the insurance lot for further investigation. A police report was filed. The insurance provider deemed the vehicle totaled and took it to a tow lot. Upon further investigation the contact related the failure to an unidentified recall however, the VIN was not included. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
Shift boot trim near storage compartment has a metal coating that starts to flake off and is razor sharp. This frequently cuts myself and my wife and is dangerous enough to have issued a recall but apparently it is only for automatics. This is odd since both Auto and Manual have a similar problem that seems to be widespread on forums across the web. Service Action Code: 34J7/34L9
On 8/1/2024 my housemate was driving this vehicle on the highway and another driver signaled to her that there was an issue with the vehicle. He put a white board outside of the drivers side window which said "gas is pouring out of the back of your car." There was no warning light to indicate that something was wrong and no prior leaking. When she arrived at home the fuel tank was nearly empty and she informed me of the problem. I asked her when she had filled the tank and she said approximately 2 days ago and that prior to starting her short drive today had over half a tank of fuel. I took the car to the gas station to try to fill the tank. I was unable to fill the tank as the shut off mechanism kept triggered at the fuel pump. I was able to get less than half a tank of gas into the vehicle, so that I could drive is less than 5 miles to the mechanic. During this drive I lost approximately 1/4 of a tank of fuel. After an analysis of the vehicle they determined that fuel was leaking through the carbon canister. They identified this as an issue related to a recalled suction jet pump seal. I had my vehicle towed to the VW dealership in order to complete the repair. I was informed that at that time the repair for the recall was unavailable. Their review of the vehicle noted that the carbon canister had overflowed and leaked. This is a direct result of the suction pump seal failing. I requested both from the dealer and VW directly that this repair be covered under the recall and they stated that the language in the recall prevents them from covering the expense of my repair even though this damage is listed as a potential result of their recalled parts failure. VW put me & my loved one at risk. Driving a car that is leaking fuel is extremely dangerous and they have skirted their responsibility as a business by refusing to cover a repair that is a direct result of their recalled parts failure. I have filed a report w/ VW directly and the case number is 06376308.

My daughter was driving the car on [XXX] in Sealy, Texas, and the sunroof spontaneously shattered. The driver and passenger did not detect an impact that caused the glass to break. VW Care has refused to offer me financial assistance due to the fact the vehicle is out of warranty. The case number associated with my call to VW Care is [XXX]. However, I believe this is a very dangerous product defect that needs to be addressed, as were defective airbags in cars that have been out of warranty. The car only has 36,000 miles. This is unacceptable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Suction jet pump failed causing vehicle to have numerous issues and had to be repaired due to being unable to drive. Suction jet pump has a recall with no remedy. Repairs cost me $3369.39 and car was in the shop for 24 days while shop tried to locate recalled part from a distributor.
The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen GTI. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 90,000.
This recall was issued in feb 2024 and there is still not a remedy available. Feb 14,2024 Manufacturer Recall Number20UF NHTSA Recall Number24V110 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available I am smelling gas in my car intermittently and this could be related to the recall. We need a remedy for this now. So I am issuing this complaint.

Fuel leak in the passenger rear wheel well. Called local Volkswagen dealership and was told the suction pump was replaced in 2016 as the originals were known for having defects causing the same issues I am currently having. Replacement part seems to be defective as fuel is leaking onto the ground and in the wheel well which is a hazard for the environment and potential danger as a fire hazard. The problem has been recent for me (within the past 2 days) reading online it has apparently been a persistent issue since 2015 with the same make and model of vehicles for the 2015 and 2016 models.
The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen GTI. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, her husband exited the vehicle and noticed an abnormal odor. The contact's husband walked around to inspect the vehicle. The contact's husband noticed gasoline leaking from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that her husband noticed a trail of gasoline leading up to the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a fuel leak from an internal failure. The contact was informed that the charcoal canister and purge valve needed to be replaced, and the vapor side of the fueling system needed to be flushed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Camshaft broken due deficiency on quality of the product, they have a recall of many cars but for casualty my car is not on the list, va don’t want to fix it and now I have to spend mor than 5500
There have been several instances where I can’t fill gas tank. Check Fuel Tank Cover light comes on frequently along with the check engine light. I smell gas while warming up my car There have been several instance where fuel gage is going down extremely fast, not in line with how much gas I’m using.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Coolant leak from very known area which is the water pump. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If leaks to much it can cause the car to run very hot and have to pull over. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes most dealers do say it is a common problem. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No
The chrome trim frame on the manual gear shift cover cracks and flakes off, causing dangerous sharp edges that have cut the hands of multiple members of my family. Same as the issue causing VW Service Action 34J7/34L9 except for manual transmission vehicles. Dealership looked up my VIN and said no recall or Service Action was available even though they know it's a common issue.
Gasoline leaking through the Evap charcoal canister on my GTI 2015
The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen GTI. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, she smelled a strong gasoline odor inside of the vehicle intermittently. The contact stated while attempting to refuel at the gas station, the gas pump lever shut off at only a 1/2 gallon of fuel. The contact drove to a second gas station and attempted to top off the tank however, the failure reoccurred. The contact was able to drive to her residence, where the vehicle remained parked for four days. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the suction pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact later became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V647000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine and Engine Cooling) which she associated with the failure. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and inquired about reimbursement; however, the manufacturer informed the contact that the recall was previously completed on the vehicle in 2018 and the recall repair was one-time free of charge. The failure mileage was unknown.
There is an issue with the thermostat housing that causes coolant to leak out. This can cause the water pump to fail or if enough of the coolant leaks it can cause the engine to over heat and fail. The Thermostat housing is totally sealed so this is a manufacture defect that happens on the make of my car and should have a recall on the part. There were no warning lights or indicators to let me know of this issue. I brought the car in to my local Volkswagen dealer (dealer of purchase of the car) for another recall to be serviced and I was informed of this issue and need to have it fixed or risk having major issues with the car. I checked online and found MANY other car owners with this same issue so it seems to be systematic and a failure in the part in question.
I was driving normal going the speed limit, had my 4 windows rolled down just a bit to let some air in the car and after driving for about 20 minutes, my sunroof glass decided to explode right above my head. sounded really loud like a gunshot and i don’t think anything from the road hit it.
The emergency parking hand brake won't engage until after around an average of 5 attempts. The hand brake button and spring behind it is also loose and pops off. I'm unable to drive with it on, or else it can pop off and fall to the floor. This causes issues as now I'm unable to use the emergency hand brake in an event of an emergency, which is what the purpose of the emergency hand brake is for.
Vehicle started to show intermittent coolant gauge fluctuation with simultaneous loss of cruise control function. The coolant gauge would show cold, then hot. After visiting a dealer, a coolant leak was identified from a crack in the Thermostat/Water Pump housing along with corrosion in the coolant bottle. In addition, the trunk latch failed, likely from a faulty windshield washer fluid valve leaking onto the electrical equipment. All parts were replaced. Within another 3 months the fuel pump failed and needed to be replaced. All parts were repaired at a Volkswagen Dealer. The overheating of the engine and failure of the fuel pump could have caused engine failure and the car to lose immediate power, causing a fire or crash. The faulty rear door latch could have caused the door to open while driving. All of these issues occurred without warning. Check engine light, EPC and disabled cruise control lights came on at the time of the problem. The vehicle also restricted the speed of the car and maximum RPMs allowed.
The coolant shutoff valve/water pump has failed twice in a little over 13,000 miles. The first incident caused the engine to overheat and go into "lump mode" on the highway and would not go over 45 mph. In the 2nd incident, the coolant shutoff value because stuck in an open position, resulting in poor gas mileage and an engine that takes much longer than normal to reach operating temperature. Problem has been confirmed by the dealer that performed all scheduled maintenance. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance or others. Warning Lamps: I was not the driver during the first incident. The 2nd incident, the engine warning light came on within a couple of days of a major maintenance at the dealership.
The engine stalled at idle while I was at the stop light.
Electronically controlled thermostat failed stuck closed on December 10, 2021. Vehicle had 63814 miles on the odometer. This is a common, known problem with this make/model. Engine overheated in stop and go traffic which caused limp home torque reduction. When traffic resumed there was a potentially dangerous situation because vehicle could not accelerate as quickly as expected by following drivers. There is a design flaw in that the thermostat should fail stuck open, and not stuck closed, to ensure adequate vehicle mobility to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. Additionally, this component is an On-Board Diagnostic Device belonging to the emissions control system. Failure should be covered under the federal emissions control warranty.
The heat in my 2015 GTI Autobahn only blows warm air out of the drivers side when heat is on for both sides. The VW dealership recommends a new thermostat, water pump, and heater core, and blend door. For now, I'm stuck with having a semi warm vehicle and the possibility of engine overheating while on the highway. With the coolant and thermostat being one of the vital parts of the vehicle, its upsetting for such a new vehicle to have such a common problem of needing a new water pump across the board. These types of imperfections in design and quality control need to be addressed due to the shear amount of people needing coolant related issues resolved on their own dime. Do better VW.
Linkage on the turbo wastegate actuator seizes if the car is not driven for more than a few months at a time. This causes the car to not produce any boost and leaves it in a state in between limp mode and normal rpm range. This makes it incredibly inconsistent with rpm and maintaining speed.
Hello - I own a MK7 VW GTI with approximately 42,000 miles. The vehicle has consistently had a "check engine" and "Low Coolant" light since approximately 20,000 miles and 3 years. The dealer checked the car but did not see a leak under their test. However, the car was diagnosed with a leaking water pump and thermostat which has been replaced out of pocket by an independent. This is apparently common with MK7 GTIs and can cause engine failure and stalling in the middle of the road.
Weird rattle sounds coming from the steering column. Supposed to be a clock spring issue. This issue is persistent on a lot of VW models, but unfortunately my car is not under recall
The engine blew while stopped at a light at an intersection. The car was unable to restart. We were told there was no compression in cylinder 3. This car had received regular maintenance at the dealer. If the car had been in motion, the driver and passengers could have been seriously injured. The engine only had 67,000 miles on it and no known problems beforehand.
The sunroof on my car spontaneously exploded with no known cause. I was driving west on I-76 near Pittsburgh PA, going 70 mph. Suddenly a sound like a gunshot was heard and the sunroof had shattered leaving a big hole. The glass was contained above me and the passenger because the sun roof shade happened to be closed.
WHEN IN MOTION ON ANY TYPE OF ROAD AFTER 30-40 MINUTES THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES 'HEAVY' AND HARD TO TURN. THE POWER STEERING HAS FAILED. I HAD THIS ISSUE 'FIXED' BY THE DEALERSHIP TWO YEARS AGO, BUT IT IS OCCURRING AGAIN.
PAID TO HAVE NEW VW TURBO PUT IN CAR AND IT LASTED 116 MILES. TOOK IT BACK AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TURBO HAD FAILED AND THE TURBINE BROKE AND FELL INTO THE MOTOR. AS A RESULT IT BLEW THE MOTOR. VW WARRANTY REFUSED TO WARRANTY THE PART AND TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE BLOWN ENGINE. EVEN THE DEALER SHIP AGREED IT WAS A FAULTY TURBO AND AS A RESULT IT BLEW THE ENGINE.
GEAR SELECTOR CHROME TRIM PEELS AND CUTS TO THE SKIN. DEALERS WILL ONLY SELL ENTIRE GEAR SELECTOR ASSEMBLIES $285+. TRIM PIECE CAN BE FOUND ON ALI EXPRESS (AFTERMARKET) FOR $16. IT IS EXACT MATCH, FIT AND FINISH. WHAT VW AND ITS DEALERS ARE DOING TO MANY CLIENTS IS UNACCEPTABLE. LOOK AT FORUMS AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THEIR HANDS SLICED BY THE PEELING CHROME. CARS ARE NOT UNDER WARRANTY FOREVER. BUT PROBLEMS THAT OCCUR TO MOST MODELS, IF YOU SLASHED YOUR HAND WHILE DRIVING - THAT COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE, BUT IT TAKES NON MANUFACTURER PARTS TO FIX AFFORDABLY. WHY CAN'T VW EITHER OFFER THIS PART A LA CARTE OR GIVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY? WHY DO I NEED TO BUY AN ENTIRE GEAR SELECTOR FOR A SIMPLE CHROME PLATED PIECE OF PLASTIC TO BE REPLACED? THE GEAR SELECTOR WORKS FINE, IT'S THE CHROME TRIM THAT IS A SEPARATE PART THAT PEELS. I'M JUST ANGRY BECAUSE I HAVE TO GO AROUND THE WORLD AND TRUST AN UNKNOWN CHINESE COMPANY TO SUPPLY A PART THAT VW ALREADY MAKES AND WON'T SELL ON ITS OWN. AND IT'S NOT JUST ME, IT'S ALMOST EVERYONE WHOSE BOUGHT ONE OF THESE CARS. SLICING YOUR HAND WHILE DRIVING CAUSES SOME DISTRACTION. I THANK GOD I DIDN'T WRECK WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME. PLEASE MAKE THEM EITHER RECALL THE PART OR AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE IT. THE VEHICLE WAS ON FL HIGHWAY 16 WHEN I SLASHED MY HAND ON THE PEELING CHROME TRYING TO TURN DOWN THE AIR CONDITIONING.
FIRST CAR STARTS. SECOND PUT THE GEAR INTO REVERSE. THIRD CAR STARTS TO STALL SLOWLY SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE WHILE IN REVERSE. FOURTH, CAR HAS DIFFICULTY STARTING THE ENGINE WHILE PUTTING IN PARK GEAR. FIFTH, I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND THE PUSH START BUTTON IN ORDER TO START WHILE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO INCREASE THE RPM. THEN I DRIVE. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN WHEN FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE UNDER STATIONARY.
I HAD MY THERMOSTAT HOUSING REPLACED TO DUE LEAKAGE. I WANTED TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE I BELIEVE THIS IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE THAT CAN LEAD TO ENGINE DAMAGE. THIS HAS HAPPENED GRADUALLY OVER TIME AND NOT DUE TO ANY INCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS WAS DISCOVERED FROM A VW SERVICE WHEN I WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 57000 MILES.
I HAVE A 2015 GTI THAT HAS ONLY 80,000 MILES ON IT. I HAD A REPAIR DONE TO REPLACE VALVES, COIL SPRINGS, SPARK PLUGS AND IGNITION COILS LAST YEAR DUE TO FAILURE OF THE ENGINE. THEY CLAIMED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND A YEAR LATER THE SAME EXACT FAILURE HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME IT COST 3,500 TO FIX WITH A CUSTOMER LOYALTY DISCOUNT. THIS TIME THEY SUGGEST REPLACING THE ENGINE AT A 14,000 PRICE TAG. THERE IS CLEARLY SOME DESIGN FLAW THAT IS CAUSING THIS REPEATED FAILURE IN SUCH A NEW CAR. VOLKSWAGEN DOESN'T BACK UP THE PREVIOUS REPAIR. WITH THE FREQUENCY OF THIS ISSUE I'M SURE THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME ISSUE.
MY WATER PUMP IS LEAKING AT ONLY 76 THOUSAND MILES0
AFTER HAVING MY 2015 VW SE 4-DR 2.0T AUTO PZEV INTO THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE CENTER FOR A/C ISSUES. TWO WEEKS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE CAR. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THIS AS THE PROBLEM. REPLACE ENGINE AND TURBO! OVER $17,000!
WATER PUMP & THERMOSTAT HOUSING LEAKING COOLANT AT 31,000 MILES. BOTH ITEMS WERE REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
MY COOLANT WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AT ABOUT 71K MILES, TO MY SURPRISE. MY MECHANIC CHECKED ALL FLUID LEVELS WHEN I LAST HAD THE CAR IN, WHICH WAS ABOUT 6K MILES PRIOR. I CHECKED THE COOLANT LEVEL AND IT WAS WAY BELOW THE MINIMUM LEVEL IN THE RESERVOIR. MY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DETERMINED IT WAS THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING WHICH IN TURN CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE WATER PUMP AS WELL. THIS RESULTS IN A $980 REPAIR. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I HAVE DETERMINED THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS AFFECTED OTHER VW GTIS OF THE SAME MODEL GENERATION. THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY VW BUT MY CAR IS NOW OUTSIDE OF THE FACTORY WARRANTY. I AM SEEKING TO RECOVER THE MONEY I HAVE SPENT OUT OF POCKET AND TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING TO ANY OTHER OWNERS. THE DETAILS ARE AS FOLLOWS: THE ISSUE IS LIMITED TO 2015- US MODELS AND 2013- EUROPEAN MODELS, AND SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE EA888 REV3 ENGINE THAT IS IN SEVERAL MQB MODELS SOLD BY VW/AUDI. COOLANT WILL SLOWLY SEEP OUT OF A WEEP HOLE ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ENOUGH TO EVER LEAVE A PUDDLE BUT SLIGHT RESIDUE MAY BE SEEN UNDER THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND POSSIBLY ON THE OIL PAN. THE LOSS OF COOLANT OFTEN TRIPS THE LOW COOLANT WARNING IF THE LEVEL ISN'T MAINTAINED. DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE LEAK, THE COOLANT DROP CAN EITHER BE GRADUAL OR CATASTROPHIC. LOSS OF COOLANT HAS ALSO BEEN LINKED TO THE WATER PUMP FAILING. FURTHERMORE, THE ACCESSORY BRACKET GASKET CAN LEAK HOT OIL DOWN ONTO THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING (EVEN AFTER REPAIR) WHICH CAN CAUSE FAILURE. *TR
COOLANT LEAKING REQUIRING THERMOSTAT HOUSING REPLACEMENT AS WELL AS NEW SENSOR AND NEW WATER PUMP.
I WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT WITH MY CAR ON WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN A LADY PARKED NEXT TO ME SAID THAT IT SMELLED LIKE GASOLINE. I DECIDED TO STEP OUT AND CHECK ON THE CAR THE FUEL WAS LITERALLY LEAKING OUT OF THE TANK FROM THE REAR END OF THE CAR. THE CAR HAD ALMOST A FULL TANK AND IN A MATTER OF MINUTES IT EMPTIED ITSELF OUT. KEEP IN MIND, I AM A SMOKER AND IF IT WASN'T BECAUSE THE LADY TOLD ME ABOUT THE GAS LEAK IT COULD'VE END UP IN A FATAL FIRE/ACCIDENT. I HAVE SEEN AROUND THE INTERNET THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN 2015-2016 GTI MODELS BUT ONCE YOU GO INTO THE VW PAGE NOTHING APPEARS. IT EVEN APPEARS ONLINE FROM TRUSTED SOURCES THAT THE RECALL NUMBER WAS 20Y5 AND 20Y6. CURRENTLY THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE VW FOR 1 MONTH AND THEY WANTED ME TO PAY AROUND $2,800 TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK AND ONCE I DID MY RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT THE EXACT PROBLEM HAPPENED TO THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAD THE SAME MODEL YET THE DEALER DID NOT EVEN MENTION IT TO ME AND WANT TO CHARGE ME WITH THE $2,800.
WATER PUMP FAILURE AT 49500 MILES.
