The car has been jerking when you’re driving and sometimes it jerks forward as you’re parking it while it’s in the parked position. Then I’m driving home from work , it’s raining heavy. I get to the Valaro store by my house; I put $40.00 worth of gas in the car after work drove home parked the car the next morning it would not turn over , would not ignite at all I took it to the shop. They said the computer was fried from the rain leaking through the windshield or under the windshield. They said it’s a major problem with this model car. The mechanic said the computer could not be fixed. He sent it to the Volkswagen repair shop it can’t be fixed and to replace it cost thousands of dollars !!! I can provide an estimate of the problems and possible repairs if needed . The mechanic stated it is not worth the cost to fix the car. I did notice that there is a powertrain recall and my mechanic is also stating that the transmission is the jerking problem we’re having.. I really think these should be recalled however I needed to submit my issues and see what you final decision would be on both situations, the powertrain transmission problem and the computer burnout problem thank you so much and hope you’re having a great day
The contact owned a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing electrical problems. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, another driver persistently blew the horn at her to inform her that the vehicle had caught fire. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and immediately exited the vehicle. The contact noticed that there was a fire underneath the passenger side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle burned to the ground and there was a big hole in the pavement. There was no further information provided. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of the fire department. A fire department report was filed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The contact sustained post-traumatic stress disorder as she had lost her only daughter in a vehicle fire in the past. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 141,000.
TPMS failure on each tire and ABS went out immediately. Was on he highway when failure happened; had to use the emergency run away truck ramp to stop. Break pads seized on back left side causing damage to rotor that was just replaced. Only thing that saved my life was it was in the middle of the night.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED HER SON WAS DRIVING 25 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL EXPLODED WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK IN PLACE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE TO CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF TRUCK. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID DEPLOY IN THE VEHICLE. NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED FROM VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SON SUSTAINED NO INJURIES. THE CONTACTS SON RECEIVED NO MEDICAL ATTENTION AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO WESTERN TOWING (3401 S 43RD AVE, PHOENIX, AZ 85009). IN WHICH THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE OUT OF TOWED LOT AND SOLD THE VEHICLE TO CLUNK FOR JUNK YARD. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FAILED TO TURN WHEN PLACED INTO THE IGNITION SWITCH, CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 155,000.
AFTER GOING TO THE MECHANICS AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS EXPECTING ALL THE PROBLEMS TO BE GONE BUT TO MY SURPRISE THE JOLTING WHEN I ACCELERATE IS STILL THERE. ITS A VERY HARSH JOLT FORWARD ROUGHLY WHEN ITS GOING TO SECOND GEAR, THE RPMS GO TO 4K THEN JUMP DOWN TO 2K AND IT DOES THAT FOR A WHILE. FOR EXAMPLE I'LL BE DRIVING AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'LL DO A HARSH JOLT FORWARD AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO THAT WHEN ACCELERATING OR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO GO AT A STEADY SPEED. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THE SEATBELTS ARE NOT RETRACTABLE ANYMORE AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. WHEN I WOULD TURN OFF THE CAR THE GAS WOULD BE REGURGITATED BACK AS IF THE CAR WAS ON AS IT'S COMPLETELY OFF. I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT COMES FROM BUT WATER GETS IN THE CAR WHEN IT RAINS AND THE CARPETS WILL BE COMPLETELY SOAKED AND IT'LL SMELL LIKE MOLD, WE HAVE TRIED TO FIX IT AND MECHANICS HAVE LOOKED AT IT AND THEY ARE CLUELESS TOO.

AS SHE WAS RETRIEVING ITEMS OUT OF THE TRUCK, SHE HEARD THE VEHICLE ROLLING BACKWARDS. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR BUT THE DOOR HAD KNOCKED HER DOWN AS THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL BACKWARDS. AFTER THE CONTACT WAS KNOCKED DOWN, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE ROLLED OVER HER LEFT LEG. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL INTO HER NEIGHBOR'S YARD AND HIT THE NEIGHBOR'S GARAGE DOOR. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE NEXT DAY, THE CONTACT WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND WAS TREATED FOR INJURIES TO HER LEFT FIBULA WHICH REQUIRED SURGERY. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR DIAGNOSED FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
STRONG FUEL SMELL COMING IN FROM AC VENTS WHEN CAR AT A STOP. SEEN THIS CAR MODEL WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED FOR FUEL SMELL IN PAST. WHEN DRIVING OFF SMELL SEEMS TO GO AWAY SINCE AIR SEEMS TO BE FLOWING IT OUT OF ENGINE BAY. *TR
DOOR LOCKS FAIL TO LOCK. FRONT DRIVER DOOR WILL LOCK BUT ALL OTHER DOORS DO NOT LOCK. ALARM WILL SOUND OFF IF DOOR IS OPENED BUT WILL ONLY WORK FOR 1 MINUTE THEN SHUT OFF. THIS HAS RESULTED IN AN AUTO BURGLARY AT MY SONS WORK PLACE PARKING LOT. IT ALSO POSES A DANGER TO CHILDREN IN BACK SEAT IF DOOR IS OPENED WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION. SAFETY IS AT ISSUE WHEN PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE NEED TO PREVENT BEING CAR JACKED OR ROBBED AS WELL. WE HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO HAVE A RECALL ISSUED ON THIS VEHICLE TO FORCE THE MANUFACTURER TO REPAIR THESE VEHICLES?
TRANSMISSION SLIPS EXTREMELY BADLY EVEN THOUGH IT DOESNT EVEN HAVE 90K MILES ALMOST MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE IN CITY AND IS DANGEROUS WHEN NEEDING TO SPEED UP AND SLOW DOWN. TRANSMISSION SLIPS MORE WHEN SPEEDING UP FROM SLOW SPEEDS AND WILL REACH HIGH RPMS OF 4700 EVEN WHEN NOT TOUCHING THE GAS BUT I HAVE HAD IT SLIP ON THE HIGHWAY OUT OF NOWHERE AND IT PEAKED AT 7300 RPM WHEN NOT TOUCHING THE GAS WHICH IS PAST THE REDLINE ON THE RPMS. IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY DAY I DRIVE TO WORK (20 MINUTES ON THE FREEWAY) AND SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING WITH THIS LOW AMOUNT OF MILES.
THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE IN THE ENGINE BAY BY THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP. THE LOW BEAM OF THE HEADLIGHT KEPT GOING OFF AND ON PROMPTING A BROKEN HEADLIGHT OR HEADLAMP BULB SIGNAL ON DASH BOARD. AFTER REPLACING THE BULB THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED IT CONTINUED PERIODICALLY FOR ABOUT ONE MONTH . WHILE DRIVING I SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC AFTER WHICH I NOTICED FLAMES FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP. I PULLED OVER OPENED THE HOOD NOTICING THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP WAS MELTING AND ON FIRE. WITHIN TWO MINUTES OF PULLING OVER THE ENGINE BAY WAS COMPLETELY MELTED . THE FIRE SPREAD TO THE INTERIOR ' MELTING IT.
RECALL -ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING I HAVE A 07 JETTA 2.0L. 2 MONTHS AGO I NOTICED A GAS SMELL WHEN I TOOK MY OIL CAP OFF I NOTICED THERE WAS A LOT OF STEAM/SMOKE & I COULD TELL THAT'S WHERE THE SMELL WAS COMING FROM. THERE WAS NOTHING VISIBLE OTHER THAN THE STEAM/GAS VAPOR. THE COOLANT LEVEL NEVER MOVES. I WAS ONLY GETTING 15 MILES TO THE GALLON BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING INTO MY ENGINE. ON 7/13/19 THE ENGINE SEIZED (LOCKED) UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. I WAS DRIVING MY WIFE TO WORK WITH OUR 5 YEAR OLD SON. I HAD JUST TURNED ON THE STREET OF HER WORK GOING 10 MILES AN HOUR & IT FELT LIKE MY CAR JUST DIED. I COULDN'T EVEN GET THE ENGINE TO TURN OVER. I HAD TO GET MY VEHICLE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. WHICH IS WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO TRANSPORTATION NOW. (RECALL FAULTY AIR BAGS MY CAR IS MILES AWAY AT THE REPAIR SHOP, SO I CAN'T TAKE A PICTURE OF THE AIR BAG LIGHT BUT IT TURNED ON ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND HASN'T SHUT OFF. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT A REPAIR SHOP CAN NOT FIX/ ITS GOING TO BE SO EXPENSIVE THAT I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT. IT HAS FAULTY AIR BAGS THAT CAN JUST GO OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING! SAFETY BAGS ARE A 'MUST HAVE' & IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL/PRODUCE ANY NON SAFE VEHICLE! I SEEN THAT VOLKSWAGEN COMPANY MADE A HAND FULL OF RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE OVER THE LAST 8 YEARS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER KEPT THE CAR IN A GARAGE & STARTED IT DAILY HE JUST NEVER CHECKED FOR RECALLS. PARTS ON THIS CAR ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE 06-09 JETTAS& SPORTWAGONS & HE HAD REPLACED PARTS. I'M UNSURE WHICH ONES WERE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE FALLS UNDER THE CATEGORY OF A VW JETTA SEDAN. I'M HAVING ALL OF THE SAME RECALL ISSUES THAT THE JETTA IS RECALLING FOR. & THE HORN DOES NOT WORK WHEN IT'S PARKED. YOUR COMPANY POSTED THE RECALLS FOR ALL OF THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT I'M HAVING WITH THIS VEHICLE! RECALL NO. 40J2/S4. RECALL NO. 20I4/U1. RECALL NO. Q8.
KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION AND I CANNOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE. CAR ONLY HAVE 125K AND MAINTENANCE ALWAYS WITH DEALER.
TAKATA RECALL THE IGNITION SWITCH WILL NOT LET ME TURN MY CAR OFF
I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHTS MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO FAULTY ELECTRICAL WIRING INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT UNIT THAT COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN FIRES. AIRBAG FAULT HINDERING USAGE
HAD TO REPLACE BOTH COOLING FANS ON MY 2007 VW WOLFSBURG JETTA. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON CAND CAUSING THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. CAUSING THE PRESSURE RELIEF LID ON THE OVERFLOW BOTTLE TO BE ACTIVATED CAUSING COOLANT TO COME OUT. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEM WAS 50+ DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. VEHICLE WOULD BE DRIVING OR IDLE.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WITH THE SEAT HEATER ON. I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL AND THEN A BURNING SENSATION. BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER, THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT COVER, EXPOSING THE WIRING AND FOAM. MY COAT AND CLOTHING WERE BURNED, AS WELL AS MY BACK. THERE IS ALSO EVIDENCE OF OVERHEATING/BURNING IN ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS OF THE SEAT COVER, BUT IT ONLY BURNED THROUGH IN ONE LOCATION. I TURNED OFF THE SEAT HEATER AND DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DISCONTINUE USE OF THE SEAT HEATER. THIS OCCURRED ON 3/8/19 WITH LESS THAN 95K MILES ON THE CAR.
WHILE DRIVING AROUND, DOING SOME SHOPPING, I HAD THE THE SEAT WARMER TURNED ON LEVEL 3-4 ON THE DRIVER SEAT AND BY THE TIME I GOT HOME I STARTED SMELLING SMOKE IN THE CAR AND NOTICED THAT MY SEAT BURNED ALL THE WAY THROUGH MY JACKET. I WENT TO THE VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP AND QUOTED ME OVER $1000 TO REPLACE MY SEAT. I CANNOT USE MY SEAT WARMER ANYMORE, IT'S A FIRE HAZARD. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? ANY RECALL ON THIS ISSUE?
CAR WAS PARKED , PROBLEM HORN CONTINUES TO SOUND, FUSE HAD TO BE TAKEN OUT. HAVING PROBLEM WITH CAR INTERIOR HEADLINER, PULLING AWAY FROM EDGES THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE
I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION IN ORDER TO TURN THE CAR OFF. WHEN I HAD STARTED THE CAR IT DID SEEM LIKE THE KEY WAS NOT TURNING AT FIRST, BUT THEN IT STARTED LIKE NORMAL. ONCE I DROVE TO MY FIRST DESTINATION I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF, SO I DROVE TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY HAD TO TAKE APART THE IGNITION SWITCH AND STEERING WHEEL COLUMN TO TURN THE CAR OFF.
THE AIR BAG LIGHY WAS COMING ON AND OFF THEN IT JUST STAYED ON , SO IT NEVER GOES OUT, EVERYTIME I GET IN MY CAR AND START IT UP THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER (TIMMONS VOLKSWAGEN OF LONG BEACH, 3940 CHERRY AVE, LONG BEACH, CA, 90807) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER FAILED, THE BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM WAS LEAKING OIL, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER OUTER CV BOOTS WERE TORN/WORN, AND THE SWAY BAR LINK WAS FRACTURED. ALL THE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,200.
KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION AND I CANNOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT DETERMINED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND THE REAR SEAT AIR BAGS WERE FAULTY. IN ADDITION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON AN INCLINE, A BURNING ODOR ENTERED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. AN UNKNOWN VOLKSWAGEN DEALER IN BENNINGTON, VERMONT WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CAR JERKS, ONE FAN DO NOT WORK, OIL LEAK, WIND SHIELD WASHER AND COOLANT SYSTEM. BROUGHT CAR FROM DRIVE TIME IN FEBUARY 2013. I'VE NOTICED THESE PROBLEMS WHEN DRIVING AND PARKING. THE CAR OVER HEATS AS WELL. I ALSO NOTIFIED DRIVE-TIME AND WAS TOLD TO GET ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY FOR ANOTHER.
TAKATA RECALL AIR BAG LIGHT
AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT HAS COME ON AND FOR THE MOST PART REMAINS ON. FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF, BUT INEVITABLY, IT ALWAYS TURNS BACK ON. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING AND SEEMS TO BE A SYSTEMIC ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL YEAR. MANY REPORT AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. VOLKSWAGEN NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE THEY HAVE A PR NIGHTMARE BY PUTTING PROFIT MARGINS OVER THE LIVES OF THEIR CONSUMERS.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND I FELT SOMETHING HOT ON MY BACK AND A BURNING SMELL. I PULLED OVER TO LOOK AND I HAD TWO BURN MARKS IN MY SEAT WITH A BIG BROWN BURN MARK DOWN THE SIDE ALONG WITH IT BURNING MY CLOTHES. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE SEAT WARMER OFF.
SUSPENSION RUSTED OUT...SPRINGS, ARMS, BUSHINGS, THE ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM BOTH LEFT SIDE AND RIGHT, WITH EXCEPTION OF THE SHOCKS. SUDDEN CLANKING NOISE, FRONT END SCRAPING THE UNEVEN ROADWAY SURFACE. VEHICLE PARKED UNTIL IT COULD BE LOOKED AT BY TECHNICIAN, AND THE FRONT END JUST RUSTED APART, INCLUDING SPRINGS FELL OUT UPON THE LIFT OF THE VEHICLE....ABSOLUTLEY NO TIRE WEAR TO INDICATE ANY ISSUE PRIOR, OR STEERING COMPROMISE...WAS TOLD BY THE TECHNICIAN THE "THIS USUALLY IS SEEN ON THE PASSAT, NOT JETTAS"....VEHICLE HAS 97000. MILES....VEHICLE IS DRIVEN HIGHWAY AND CITY STREET USE. VEHCILE WAS INVOLVED IN AND ACCIDENT, IT BEING STRUCK IN THE REAR END, WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET, VIOLENTLY BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON 04/04/2014, DAMAGE TO THE TRUNK ,HATCH, REAR BUMPER, AND FIRING MECHANISM ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT ENGAGED RENDERING THE SEATBELT UNABLE TO FUNCTION AND NEEDED REPLACED.
WHEN I INSERT MY KEY IT WILL NOT TURN. SOMETIMES IT WILL BUT IT IS REALLY STIFF AND SOMETIMES IT WILL ONLY LET ME TURN IT TO ACCESSORY. I AM WORRIED THAT WHEN I HAVE IT STARTED IT WILL NOT LET ME TURN IT OFF.

AIRBAG SENSORS MALFUNCTIONING AT LEAST TWICE ON DAUGHTER'S JETTA. JUST HAD THE FAULTY WIRING UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT REPAIRED AND, A FEW DAYS LATER, LIGHT IS BACK ON WITH YET ANOTHER DIAGNOSIS FOR ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE CRASH SENSOR, POTENTIALLY. SEE ON THIS FEED THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. WHY IS VW NOT ISSUING A LIFETIME RECALL?
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN 2015, IT HAD 72K MILES THEN, NOW IT HAS 90K MILES. THE LAST 1 YEAR I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE JERKING WHEN IT WARMS UP ENOUGH ESPECIALLY WHEN I GET TO A STOP LIGHT AND START DRIVING, OFTEN TIMES THE ENGINE REVVS UP SO MUCH AS IF SOMEONE HIT ME FROM BEHIND AND THEN SETTLES DOWN. VW DID EXTEND THE WARRANTY KNOWING ABOUT THIS DEFECT UP TO 100K AND 6 YEARS WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. THERE ARE A LOT OF FORUMS WHERE SEVERAL OF THE AFFECTED ARE DISCUSSING THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS FOR AUTO TRANSMISSION VEHICLE. NOT SURE WHY THIS WAS NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL, SINCE THE GEAR GOES UP BY ITSELF OFTEN TIMES AS IF I MAY HIT THE VEHICLE ON THE FRONT. THE ISSUE IS WITH TRANSMISSION VALVE THAT VW AGREED IS FOUND DEFECTIVE. I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD MAKE IT A RECALL IF THE PART IF FOUND DEFECTIVE. IT IS AN EXPENSIVE PART AND THE PARTS AND LABOR COSTS ABOUT 2K. THIS ISSUE HAS IMPACTED PRETTY MUCH ALL THE VEHICLES MADE DURING 2005 UNTIL 2007 OR 2008 AND IS AFFECTING ALL 2.5 ENGINES ESPECIALLY THE WULFSBURG EDITION WHICH IS ONE OF THE HIGH END IN THAT MODEL. APPRECIATE IF YOU GUYS HAVE A LOOK AT THE PROBLEM AND DO THE NEEDFUL. THE PATTERN IS SUCH THAT THE VEHICLE RUNS JUST FINE WHEN JUST STARTED FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES, ONCE THE ENGINE WARMS UP THE VEHICLE WILL START ACTING UP, WHEN IN HIGH WAY WITH A STOP AND GO TRAFFIC OR AT LOCAL ROADS. THE ENGINE WILL REV UP TO 4 OR 5 SUDDENLY, THERE IS A LOT OF HESITATION, I HAVE TO GIVE VERY LIGHT ACCELARATION IN ORDER TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE ON THE FRONT. IT BECOMES LIFE THREATENING OFTEN TIMES.

ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, HAD IT TOWED TO AN AUTO SHOP THAT WORKS W/MY USED CAR WARRENTY, THEY TESTED GENERATOR AND BATTERY AND BOTH WERE GOOD. NO RECALLS ON MY VIN HOWEVER, I DID SEE RECALL# 14E007000 ON 2007 JETTA'S AND IT STATES THE ENGINE COULD SHUT OFF DUE TO TIMING BELT FROM FAULTY WATER PUMP.

ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2015, AT APPROXIMATELY 8:00 AM IN THE MORNING, MY SEAT WARMERS HAD BURNT OUT. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK; IT WAS A CHILLY MORNING SO I TURNED THE SEAT WARMER ON TO 4. THE HIGHEST IT GOES UP TO IS 5. SOON AFTER, I FELT IT WAS A BIT TOO HOT. WHEN I LOOKED DOWN, I SAW SMOKE! I COULD NOT STOP ANYWHERE SO I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE SEAT WARMER. I REMAINED CALM UNTIL I ARRIVED TO A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I LOOKED BEHIND ME I NOTICED 3 HOLES IN MY SEAT. TWO LITTLE ONES AND ONE BIG ONE. YOU CAN SEE THE BURNT WIRES. I WAS SO ANGRY BY THE TIME I GOT TO WORK. I DROVE OVER TO VW NEMER IN LATHAM, NY TO HAVE THEM CHECK IT OUT AND MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO ENGINE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE REP. WAS NOT SYMPATHETIC AND NOT VERY POLITE. HE KEPT SAYING I SHOULD HAVE CALLED AND I SHOULD HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT. I TOLD HIM I WAS GOING TO STAY THERE AND WAIT TO FIND OUT THE RESULTS. HE CAME BACK TO TELL ME THAT THE SEAT WARMER BURNT OUT AND THAT WAS ALL. HE ALSO TRIED TO GET ME TO FIX MY BRAKES (I DID NOT COME IN FOR BRAKES). HE TOLD ME I WOULD NEED NEW WIRING AND SEAT COVERS (LEATHER) TO FIX IT. I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND HAD TO PAY A $100 DEDUCTIBLE. I AM NOT PAYING THAT DEDUCTIBLE. HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT MATTER, BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON MY WARRANTY EXPIRED, BUT MY CAR HAS NOT REACHED 100,000 MILES YET... I HAVE WRITTEN A COMPLAINT TO VW DEMANDING SOME TYPE OF RESOLUTION. THEY NEED TO CHECK THEIR CARS VERY THOROUGHLY. I READ THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER SEAT WARMER INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED IN CANADA AND VW DID NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. PURCHASED 2007 VW JETTA VEHICLE AND NOTICED A WEEK LATER THAT THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT WORK. HAD IT REPAIRED FOR NEARLY $500 AND BEFORE I COULD GET HOME THE FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR STOPPED PROPER FUNCTION. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE DEFECTIVE ACTUATORS INVOLVED WITH SO MANY MALFUNCTIONS. THIS I WOULD CONSIDER AS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO ADDRESS FOR THE CONSUMERS.

AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE GEAR SHIFTED ON ITS OWN FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. I PLACED THE VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE. I DROVE A SHORT DISTANCE AND THE CAR WILL NOW ONLY GO FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL. THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. TOOK IT TO THE VW DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE GEAR SHIFT BOX IS DEFECTIVE BUT NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CONTACTED VW CORP AND OPENED A CASE WITH THE REGIONAL CASE MANAGER. STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM THEM. I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALER THAT IT WASN'T SAFE TO DRIVE AS IT IS. WHEN I ASKED SINCE IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WILL THEY BE REPLACING IT AT NO COST? STATED NO SINCE THEY HAVE NO RECALL UNDER MY VIN # AND NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY.

REAR DRIVER'S SIDE LOCK FAILED WITH NO INDICATIONS THAT IT DID NOT WORK. WE THOUGHT THE DOOR WAS LOCKING, EITHER VIA THE KEY-FOB OR INTERNAL LOCKING, BUT IT WAS NOT AND WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG THIS WAS THE CASE BEFORE THE DEALER POINTED IT OUT.
