FALSE NEUTRAL SYMPTOMS DUE TO DSG MECHATRONIC. HANSEL VW DEALERSHIP IN SANTA ROSA, CA STATED THAT OUR VIN NUMBER WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. WHY NOT? IT OBVIOUSLY IS OCCURRING WITH OURS JUST LIKE THE OTHERS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. NHTSA ACTION NUMBER :PE09035 "REPORT SUBMITTED TO NHTSA ON AUGUST 20, 2009, VOLKSWAGEN DESCRIBED A POTENTIAL DEFECT IN THE WIRING HARNESSES OF THE DSG GEARBOX TEMPERATURE SENSORS USED IN APPROXIMATELY 16,000 MODEL YEAR (MY) 2009 AND 2010 VOLKSWAGEN (EOS, JETTA AND GTI) ". WE HAVE A 2010 VW JETTA SPORTWAGON TDI THAT DEFINITELY HAS THIS DEFECT. WHAT WAS STATED IN THAT COMPLAINT HAPPENED TO US: IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THE ABRUPT SHIFT TO NEUTRAL COULD LEAD TO A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. THEY WANT $2473.63 TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ON I-96 WEST TRAVELING AT 70MPH THE SUNROOF WHICH WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME SUDDENLY EXPLODED SENDING SHARDS OF GLASS EVERYWHERE. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN WENT OFF IN THE VEHICLE. I WAS VERY FORTUNATE THAT THE SUNROOF CURTAIN WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME WHICH CONTAINED MOST OF THE GLASS SHARDS. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. THERE WAS NOBODY ELSE ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND ME SO THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY THAT THIS WAS A STONE OR OBJECT FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 92 DEGREES F AND I HAD THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW OPEN APPROXIMATELY 50%. THIS WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THAT I WAS LUCKY TO WALK AWAY FROM WITHOUT PHYSICAL INJURY. HOWEVER, I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS CAR AGAIN WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION! VERY DANGEROUS CAR!!!! *TR
WITHOUT NOTICE FACTORY RADIO WITH HANDS FREE/ BLUETOOTH FAILS TO COME ON. WHICH CAUSES A POTENTIAL HAZARD. CAN ALSO CAUSE BATTERY TO DRAIN, PUTTING MORE STRAIN ON ALTERNATOR, CAUSING IT TO FAIL. DEALER WANTS A DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE, WHICH FINDS THAT RADIO HAS FAILED. NEEDS TO HAVE RADIO REPLACED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE RADIO WENT OFF, BLACK SCREEN. HAS NOT CAME BACK ON, FUSE IS GOOD. *TR
LARGE SPLIT IN THE FRONT RIGHT OUTSIDE SIDEWALL DISCOVERED. UPON INSPECTION, GAP WAS VERY NOTICABLE. CHECK THE REMAINING THREE TIRES AND NO EVIDENCE OF THE SAME. TIRES HAVE APPROXIMATELY 15,000 MILES. WE DECIDED TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES TO KEEP THE VEHICLE "BALANCED". NEW TIRES INSTALLED AND WAS ASKED TO COME IN TO THE SHOP TO SEE THE OTHER THREE TIRES. ALL THREE HAD SPLITS IN THE SIDEWALL FACING TO THE INSIDE, WHICH COULD NOT HAVE BEEN SEEN UNLESS EACH TIRE WAS PULLED OFF THE VEHICLE. I ASKED TO RETAIN AT LEAST TWO OF THE TIRES IN MY POSSESSION, WHICH I HAVE NOW. I ALSO HAVE PICTURES OF THE SPLITS THAT I HOPE I WILL BE ABLE TO FORWARD SOMEWHERE BEFORE I COMPLETE THE COMPLAINT. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS NO INJURYS, IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY CATASTOPHIC IF THE TIRES BLEW OUT AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. *TR
TRAVELING SOUTH ON HWY 101, 55 MILES NORTH OF SAN LOUIS OBISPO, CA AT AN APPROXIMATE SPEED OF 65 MPH,THE ENGINE LOST POWER, AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. THE ENGINE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PERRY VOLKSWAGEN IN SAN LOUIS OBISPO, CA. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP SENDING SLIVERS OF METAL THROUGHOUT THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT THIS WAS NOT AN UNCOMMON ISSUE WITH THE TURBO DIESEL MODEL AND THAT THEY CURRENTLY HAVE TWO VEHICLES IN THEIR SHOP WITH THE SAME ISSUE. WE HAVE ALWAYS FUELED THE VEHICLE WITH LOWER SULFUR DIESEL FUEL IN CALIFORNIA AND HAVE NEVER FUELED THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE. VW PREVIOUSLY HAD A RECALL TO INSTALL A "DEVICE" TO PREVENT FUELING WITH GAS NOZZLES FROM THE SERVICE STATION PUMPS. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THAT VW KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM AND WILL FIX THE VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE. WE ALSO HAVE A 2009 VW JETTA TDI THAT EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM IN JUNE 2014, WHICH WAS REPAIRED AT COMMONWEALTH VW IN SANTA ANA, CA. I AM REPORTING THAT INCIDENT IN A SEPARATE REPORT. IT IS MY POSITION THAT VW SHOULD BE RECALLING ALL OF THESE VEHICLES TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE IT HAPPENS RATHER THAN FIXING ONE AT A TIME AFTER IT HAPPENS; EXPOSING CONSUMERS TO POTENTIAL FATAL ACCIDENTS ON HIGHWAYS. *TR
HAD DRIVEN JUST A FEW MILES AND WAS COMING UP TO A STOP AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. GLOW PLUG LIGHT LIT FOR A SECOND AND ENGINE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. ENGINE WOULD CRANK, BUT WOULD NOT START. HAVE BEEN TOLD THE PROBLEM IS THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. I DRIVE LONG DISTANCE IN THIS CAR AT ALL TIMES OF DAY. THE CAR DIED IMMEDIATELY, LEAVING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
THE SOUND SYSTEM INCLUDING CD PLAYER, RADIO, BLUE TOOTH HANDS FREE SYSTEM, AND AUX STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY. THIS CAR WAS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY VOLKSWAGEN! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I PURCHASED THIS CAR MODEL BECAUSE IT HAD BLUETOOTH. THE LESS EXPENSIVE MODEL DID NOT. NOW I AM NOT ABLE TO CARRY ON A HANDS FREE CONVERSATION ON MY CELL PHONE. I WAS DRIVING MY VW JETTA TDI ON A LOCAL SURFACE STREET IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHEN MY CAR DIED WITH NO WARNING AND INITIALLY WOULD NOT RESTART. FORTUNATELY I HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND RESUME AFTER A FEW MOMENTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE MORE AND IS DISCONCERTING. I ALWAYS PURCHASE FUEL FROM NAME-BRAND AND HIGH-VOLUME GAS STATIONS. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE RELATED TO NHTSA ACTION NUMBER : EA11003. *TR
FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP IN A VW JETTA SPORTSWAGEN TDI. VOLKSWAGEN MADE THE REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY, FOR WHICH I AM APPRECIATIVE. HOWEVER, I AM CONCERNED IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR
VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN RCD 510 2DIN TOUCHSCREEN RADIO (DELPHI PREMIUM - 8). HANDS FREE OPERATION COMES THROUGH THIS SYSTEM. ON THE MORNING OF 8/14/14 I STARTED MY CAR AND THE RADIO SYSTEM WAS DEAD. TOTALLY DEAD, AS IF THERE IS NO POWER GETTING TO IT WHATSOEVER. I CHECKED ALL FUSES (ENGINE COMPARTMENT, INTERIOR OF CAR AND THE 15 AMP FUSE LOCATED IN REAR OF THE RADIO) AND ALL WERE FINE. IT MAY BE A COINCIDENCE, BUT MY LEFT HEADLIGHT HAS BURNED OUT TWICE IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS, MOST RECENTLY IN EARLY AUGUST 2014. IN ADDITION, MY SIRIUS ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION ENDED ON THE EXACT DAY OF THE RADIO DYING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,700.
WAS DRIVING MY 2010 VW JETTA SPORTWAGON TDI AT APPROX. 55 MILES PER HOUR WHEN MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND GLOW PLUGS STARTED FLASHING. CAR BEGAN TO BUCK AS IF NOT GETTING ANY FUEL THROUGH THE SYSTEM. CAR STALLED OUT ON HIGHWAY WITHIN A MINUTE OF THE SERVICE LIGHTS FLASHING AND WILL NOT RESTART. LUCKILY THE CARS BEHIND ME BARELY AVOIDED HITTING ME AS THERE WAS ZERO WARNING. HAD TO BE TOWED TO MY GARAGE, EXPECT DIAGNOSIS TOMORROW BUT AFTER READING UP ON OTHER COMPLAINTS I AM PRETTY SURE THEY WILL REPORT BACK THAT IT IS A HPFP ISSUE AND THE SYSTEM WILL NEED REPLACED. *TR
AFTER GETTING MY 70K MILE SERVICE AND LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP MY RADIO DIED. WENT BACK TO SHOP AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHECKED THE FUSES AND VERIFIED THAT POWER WAS GETTING TO THE RADIO. REPORTED IT HAD JUST "DIED". THEY DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A TREND, HOWEVER, MY SERVICE ADVISOR ADMITTED THAT ANOTHER CUSTOMER HAS REPLACED HIS RADIO 2X - ALSO A 2010 JETTA. THIS IS NOT A LUXURY ITEM, AS I TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES FOR WORK AND USE THE "HANDS-FREE" FUNCTION OF THE RADIO SYSTEM FOR MAKING CALLS SAFELY. I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE AT LEAST 65 OTHER FORMAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE, AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THAT THIS PROBLEM CAN AND DOES DRAIN THE BATTERY. THIS IS ABOUT THE THIRD BATTERY I'VE HAD IN THIS CAR OF 4 YEARS - SEEMS A LITTLE FISHY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, A DEFECT WHICH SHOULD BE RECALLED! *TR
ABOUT AUG 2013 (MILEAGE ~ 63,000): INTERMITTENT ISSUE THAT DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK WOULD NOT LOCK WITH KEY FOB. DOOR WOULD BE UNLOCKED AND DOOR COULD BE PHYSICALLY OPENED USING THE DOOR HANDLE AND THEN CAR ALARM WOULD GO OFF. ABOUT AUGUST 2014 (MILEAGE ~ 78,000): DRIVER'S DOOR STOPPED LOCKING OR UNLOCKING AT ALL WITH KEY FOB. WHEN PRESSING LOCK BUTTON ON KEY FOB, DRIVER'S DOOR REMAINS UNLOCKED AND DOOR CAN BE PHYSICALLY OPENED USING DOOR HANDLE WITHOUT CAR ALARM GOING OFF. NEED TO MANUALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK DRIVER'S DOOR BY PUTTING KEY IN THE LOCK AND TURNING CLOCKWISE. ONCE LOCKED, DRIVER'S DOOR WILL THEN NOT UNLOCK WITH KEY FOB AND NEEDS TO BE MANUALLY UNLOCKED BY PUTTING KEY IN THE LOCK AND TURNING COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. [NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AS OF MAY 2016.] ONE YEAR LATER, ABOUT AUGUST 2015 (MILEAGE ~ 94,000): NOW THERE IS ALSO AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WTH THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK - SOMETIMES WHEN UNLOCKED WITH THE KEY FOB, THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK AND THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN USING THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. THE DOOR WOULD ALSO NOT OPEN WHEN TRIED WITH THE KEY IN THE LOCK OR WHEN USING THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE OR WHEN THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR IS PRESSED. THIS REAR PASSENGER DOOR PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES AND THIS DOOR IS USED INFREQUENTLY, SO IT COULD BE HAPPENING MORE OFTEN. THESE DOOR LOCK ISSUES ARE A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE IF A PERSON GETS LOCKED IN AND CANNOT GET OUT OF THE DOOR IN AN EMERGENCY.
HEARD A POP AND THE DISPLAY SCREEN WENT DARK. THE RADIO AND OTHER SYSTEMS (NAVIGATION, AUXILLARY, ETC) NO LONGER FUNCTION. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN POSTED TO VW SITES. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. *JS

FOUND A BLOG ONLINE THAT SHOWS MANY OTHER CONSUMERS WITH SAME YEAR AND MODEL HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, YET VWOA REFUSES TO CONSIDER A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. DRIVING ALONG WHEN A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON( EPC) WHICH IS ELECTRONIC POWER CONTROL. ON MY WAY TO THE DEALER NOW. *JS
WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND THE RADIO/SATELLITE/BLU TOOTH PHONE SYSTEM QUIT SUDDENLY. SYSTEM WENT DARK. DEALER SAID IT WAS A BAD SYSTEM. REMOVED SYSTEM FOR REPAIR AND FOUND THAT IT HAD A BAD IC CHIP THAT IS DESTROYED. FORTUNATELY NO FIRE RESULTED FROM THE LOSS OF THE CHIP ON THE SYSTEM CIRCUIT BOARD. BOARD IS NOT REPAIRABLE DUE TO THE CHIP BEING BAKED ONTO THE BOARD AND NOT SOLDERED. BOARD IS NOT REPLACEABLE DUE TO NO PARTS AVAILABILITY FROM DELPHI OR VW. VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS RADIO AND VW HAS IGNORED THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE SYSTEM. *JS
I WAS TRAVELING IN RURAL ALABAMA AND MY ENGINE FAILED; I PULLED OVER AND IT WOULD NOT CRANK. IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP. FUEL PUMP FAILURE. *JS
RADIO WENT DEAD AT TOLL STOP AND WAS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL ON INTERSTATE OR ANY OTHER ROAD. HANDS FREE PHONE SERVICE WAS LOST. PHONE STILL SEAMS TO LINK UP WITH BLUETOOTH BUT DOES NOT FUNCTION ANY LONGER THROUGH RADIO. DISTRACTING FOR DRIVING WITHOUT THE HANDSFREE PHONE. COULD CAUSE VEHICLE ACCIDENT IF NOT REPLACED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY VW ON A 3 LANE ROAD WHEN THE GLOW PLUG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING AND ABOUT 2 MINUTES LATER THE CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART, WHICH LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE LANE BLOCKING THE EVENING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON A VERY BUSY ROAD. THE VW SERVICE SHOP TELLS ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP BROKE AND THERE IS METAL IN MY FUEL FILTER. I HAVE ALWAYS FUELED WITH DIESEL FROM SHELL AND I CAN OBTAIN ALL OF MY RECEIPTS TO PROVE IT SINCE I ALWAYS USE MY CREDIT CARD TO PAY FOR FUEL. *TR

DEALERSHIP STATED THIS ISSUE IS COMMON, BUT THEY ARE NOT ISSUING A RECALL BECAUSE THE RADIO IS A "LUXURY" ITEM. THIS SEEMS TO ONLY BE A PROBLEM ON THE 2010 TDI MODEL. *TR
RADIO/NAV UNIT POPPED AND DIED WHILE THE CAR AND RADIO WERE BEING OPERATED. THIS EXACT ISSUE HAS BEEN COMMUNICATED ON MANY ONLINE DISCUSSIONS. WITHOUT BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY FOR PHONES, THIS IS A DRIVING SAFETY CONCERN. I WILL LIKELY RESOLVE THE ISSUE WITH AN AFTERMARKET UNIT DUE TO THE HIGH COST OF AN OEM/DEALER REPLACEMENT. IF THIS IS A KNOWN AND RECURRING ISSUE WITH THESE UNITS, VW SHOULD ACTIVELY RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
THE RADIO WAS WORKING FINE ON MY DRIVE HOME FROM WORK. I WAS AT HOME FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR AND GOT BACK IN CAR TO RUN ERRANDS AND AT THAT POINT THE RADIO NEVER TURNED ON. MY PHONE STILL CONNECTED TO RADIO, BUT NO SOUND WAS COMING AND THE SCREEN WAS DARK/BLANK. MY PHONE INDICATED THE BLUETOOTH WAS CONNECTED. I COULD NOT GET IT BACK ON. I REPLACED THE FUSES TO MAKE SURE, BUT IT DID NOT WORK. *TR
AT APPROXIMATELY 1:30PM ON JULY 14, 2014 MY MOM WAS DRIVING SOUTH BOUND ON HIGHWAY 99. SHE SLOWED DOWN DUE TO HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY 58 EAST WHEN SHE WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY A PICK UP TRUCK. SHE THEN STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER. THE AIRBAGS IN THE VEHICLE DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE TAIL LIGHT AND TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR DOES NOT FUNCTION. VW DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO BE A FAULTY J519 POWER CONTROL UNIT. THE WV DEALER'S SERVICE SUPERVISOR INDICATED THIS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS PROGRESSED THROUGH 5-6 EVOLUTIONS AND VW STILL CAN'T REMEDY THE ISSUE. J519 PART COSTS $550.00 PLUS $150.00 LABOR. SEEMS LIKE AN EXCESSIVE COST FOR A FAULTY TAIL LIGHT. *TR
THE RADIO UNIT STOPPED WORKING AFTER 4YRS OF USE, THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THE LOST OF BLUETOOTH AND THE ABILITY TO CONDUCT HANDS FREE CELLPHONE CALLS / OPERATIONS THE BROKEN RADIO DRAINS THE BATTERY CAUSING FAMILY TO BE STRANDED AT NIGHT UNTIL THE TOW TRUCK TO ARRIVE. *TR
CAR IN SHOP FOR APPROXIMATELY 11 DAYS. ALTHOUGH CAR OUT OF WARRANTY, FIXED WITH AUTHORIZATION FROM VW OF AMERICA AS A "WARRANTY" REPAIR AT NO CHARGE TO ME. BAD FUEL NOT AN ISSUE (TESTED). HPFP AND ALL MAJOR FUEL SYSTEMS/LINES CLEANED OR REPLACED. HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILURE.

I HAVE A 2010 JETTA TDI WITH THE DSG TRANSMISSION. WHEN I WAS DRIVING YESTERDAY, I NOTICED THE "D" FLASHING AS I LOST POWER TO THE WHEELS. IT WAS ACTING AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I TRIED TO SHIFT IT TO "N" AND BACK TO "D" WITH NO SUCCESS. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD, TURNED THE SWITCH OFF, WAITED FOR IT TO COMPLETELY POWER DOWN AND RESTARTED IT. IT WENT A COUPLE OF MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD AND THE "D" STARTED FLASHING AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED AGAIN (FALSE NEUTRAL). THIS CYCLE WENT ON SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME. WHEN IT WAS FLASHING, IT WOULD FLASH IN ANY GEAR SELECTED (PRNDS) AND IT WAS CONTINUOUS UNTIL I TURNED THE KEY OFF. THERE WERE TIMES THAT I DIDN'T HAVE A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE, IT CAN CAUSE PEOPLE TO BE PUT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS ISSUE CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME AND CAUSE A FATAL WRECK. THIS IS THE EXACT ISSUE DESCRIBED IN RECALL 09V333000, BUT VW HAS STATED THAT THIS PARTICULAR VIN IS NOT COVERED. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND A FORMAL INQUIRY SHOULD BE ESTABLISHED TO DETERMINE IF ADDITIONAL VINS SHOULD BE COVERED.

UPON CHANGING THE FUEL FILTER, THE MECHANIC NOTED THAT THERE WERE VISIBLE METAL PARTICLES IN THE FILTER HOUSING. THIS IS THE SECOND FUEL FILTER CHANGE TO SHOW METAL FILINGS. TWO DIFFERENT CERTIFIED MECHANICS NOTED THAT THIS IS A SYMPTOM OF HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILURE AND IF THE FUEL PUMP FAILS AT HIGH SPEED IT COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD.
