TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HER DAUGHTER WHO OWNS A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO OPERATE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THE REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DUAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER VOLKSWAGEN OF NEW PORT RICHEY LOCATED AT 4719 US-19, NEW PORT RICHEY, FL 34652 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
MY LIGHTS FAILED ABRUPTLY. WHEN DRIVING MY CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT.
MY TIRED WAS PUNCTURED AND THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AT ALL. THE SEATBELTS NEVER RETRACT AFTER TAKING THEM OFF THEY JUST HANG THERE. SOMETIMES WHEN I LOCK THE DOORS THE ALARM DOES NOT SOUND OFF INDICATING THE ALARM IS SET, ALSO MY HORN WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO BUT NEVER WHEN IT SHOULD, FOR INSTANCE THERE WAS A CAR COMING UP THE STREET THE WRONG WAY AND MY CAR FAILED TO CREATE SOUND FROM THE HORN FOR ME TO ALERT THE OTHER DRIVER. MY CAR COULD BE IN MOTION OR STATIONARY NONE OF THE ABOVE WORKS, MY BRAKES HAVE WENT OUT A FEW TIMES WHILE I WAS IN MOTION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AS WELL. THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN HAPPENING WAY BEFORE THE DATE I LISTED BELOW BUT I JUST THOUGHT THESE WERE NORMAL ISSUES I NEED TO GET FIXED ON MY OWN BUT WHO KNEW IT WAS A RECALL ISSUE ALL ALONG.
I BOT W/ ONLY 40,000 MILES APPROX. I DRIVE ALOT. ITS ABOUT 70,000 NOW. ONE TIRE SENSOR IS OUT AND THE PERSON AT FRIRESTONE SAID THEYLL GO OUT AGAIN AND ITS HARD TO KNOW WHICH TIRE IT IS. THE ELE TRICAL IS A MESS. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. IT IS DEFNITELY ELECTRICAL. THIS CAR IS NOT A GOOD VALUE AS EVERYTHING BREAKS ON IT AND I DONT SPEED AND ADD ADDITIVES AND B\'BABY" IT. I'M 62. IT HAS TO LAST. BUT IT IS NOT. I SEE THERES RECALLS FOR IT CONCERNING ELEECTRICAL, YET THE DEALER SAYS NO NEVER HA DA RECALL. THE NIGHT HALF MY LIGHTS WENT OUT WAS AFTER THANKSGIVING AS I WAS TRAVELING THE GRAPEVINE IN CAL. I WAS LUCKY NOT TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT
STATIONARY VEHICLE LEFT STRANDED. ENGINE WASS IMMOBILIZED KEY NOT RECOGNIZED
MY PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WENT OFF ON THE DASHBOARD AND MY HORN NO LONGER WORKS. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN THE SAME MONTH.
WHEN I USED THE HORN MY ENGINE DIED AND CAR WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT THE TIME.
THE LOW BEAMS ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE HAVE FAILED 12 TIMES AND REQUIRED ME BUYING NEW H7 BULBS. THEY HAVE ON 3 OCCASIONS WENT OUT SIMULTANEOUSLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. THE REAR TAIL LIGHT ALSO RANDOMLY TURNS OFF, REQUIRING OPENING AND SHUTTING THE TRUNK TO GET IT TO COME BACK ON OR SHUTTING OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTING IT TO GET THE TAILLIGHT BACK ON. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE 30K MILES, MY VEHICLE NOW HAS 135K.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED BLINKING THEN STOPPED BLINKING AND IS NOW ON ALONG WITH THE EPC CODE. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IN 2 YEARS MY VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS SO I KNOW ITS THE IGNITION COILS CAUSING A MISFIRE. MY VEHICLE NOW SHAKES WHEN IM STOPPED AND HAS A TICKING SOUND AT RED LIGHTS, THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED 3 TIMES IN 2 YEARS IS WAY TO MANY TIMES FOR MY IGNITION COILS TO BE REPLACED.
I TURNED MY VEHICLE ON AND NOTICED THAT MY HEAD UNIT WOULD NOT TURN ON. SCREEN WAS BLACK. I CHECKED THE FUSES AND ALL THE WIRES AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL.
RADIO JUST STOPPED WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN CHECKED WIRES AND FUSES WHICH WERE GOOD CAN'T SEEM TO FIND WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
2 MONTHS AGO KEY GOT STUCK IN IGNITION WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE KEY WILL NOT T URN TO OFF POSITION AND CAR KEEPS RUNNING. IT HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES THEN YESTERDAY IT HAPPENED 5 TIMES. CAR HAD TO BE STALLED MANUALLY IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP RUNNING. THE KEY WOULD THEN COME OUT OF IGNITION. THIS IS BECOMING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. AM TAKING TO DEALER TO GET FIXED HOPEFULLY
Extended warranty expired 6 months before the event. HOWEVEr, I read it as a recall (it was actually warranty) so I took it in BEFORE the warranty expired, there wasn’t a problem with it then so they could not fix it since again it was warranty and not recall. The problem being my horn stopped working. Took it to Volkswagen- they said it was clock spring. Clock spring could also short out my airbags along with other SAFETY issues. Not only am I at extreme risk so are others around me. Obviously it was a problem with others if they extended the warranty. A VW specialist dealing with recall and warranty told me the extension of warranty is different because a recall would mean there’s a safety issue. HOW IS A HORN AND AIR BAG NOT A SAFETY ISSUE?!?! unsure of the exact date I noticed however, it was after extension of warranty.

FIRST FEW TIMES MY KEY GOT STUCK IN THE IGNITION WITH THE CAR ON AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF FOR A LONG TIME. NOW I CAN PUT THE KEY IN BUT WONT LET ME TURN IT ON. MY CONCERN IS IF MY CAR FINALLY TURNS ON AND THE KEYS GETS STUCK AGAIN AND CANT TURN OFF MY VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM STARTED SO I LOOKED UP MY RECALLS AND GOT ONE RECALL DONE THIS MONTH ON THE MICRO SWITCH THEN MY CAR WAS OK FOR A FEW DAY AND JUST STARTED MESSING UP AGAIN. NOW MY CAR WILL NOT TURN ON AT ALL. *TR
HORN DOESN'T WORK ON THE STEERING WHEEL. AIR BAG LIGHT FREQUENTLY FAILS TO INITIALLY ILLUMINATE WHEN FIRST STARTING THE CAR. CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK. ONE WOULD BELIEVE THERE IS A CLOCK SPRING ISSUE. HOW MY SPECIFIC JETTA WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL OF CLOCK SPRINGS IS CONCERNING.
KEY IS GETTING STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND VERY HARD TO TURN AFTER YOU GET IT LOOSE. *TR
AFTER DRIVING FOR 1 HOUR OR MORE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO ACCELERATE WHEN DRIVING AT SLOWER SPEEDS AND LOSES CONTROL OF THE SPEED. AFTER DRIVING 3 HOURS OR MORE, THE CAR WILL DO THE SAME WHILE STILL ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR IS NOT ABLE TO MAINTAIN SPEED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND BECOMES IMMEDIATELY DANGEROUS.
IGNITION/KEY WILL NOT TURN BACKWARDS TO TURN THE CAR OFF. IT ACTS AS IF IT IS JAMMED OR STUCK. I'VE HAD TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE RUNNING FOR 15-30 MINS WITH SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO TURN IT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS.
REAR SPRING BROKE SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. *TR
DRIVING THIS VW JETTA TDI 2011 ON THE 605 FREEWAY SOUTH IN LONG BEACH WHEN THE YELLOW GLOW PLUG LIGHT STARTED LINKING. CAR LOST POWER. WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, I ROLLED OUT OF THE FREEWAY TO AN EXIT. AFTER THIS ENGINE STOPPED. CAR WOULD NOT START ANYMORE.I CALLED VW CARE TO START A CLAIM BECAUSE THIS CAR BELONGS TO THE DIESEL GATE SCANDAL. TO MY BAD LUCK, I FOUND OUT A FEW WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT THIS CAR, 12/17/2019, THAT THEY HAD MANY REPAIRS MADE AND ALSO THAT THE FUEL PUMP WILL GO BAD AND THE REPAIR COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THE LADY OF VW CARE, (800)822-8987 TOLD ME THAT MY WARRANTY FOR THE FUEL PUMP EXPIRED AT 174,620. SHE ASKED ME WHATS THE CURRENT MILEAGE. THAT IS 174,847. SO SHE SAID MY CAR IS NOT COVERED ANY MORE. I STILL ASKED HER TO PUT IN A CLAIM. SHE GAVE ME THE FOLLOWING CLAIM NUMBER:[XXX]. I JUST FEEL VERY SUSPICIOUS AFTER THEY HID SO MUCH INFORMATION BEFORE DURING THE SCANDAL FOR MY CAR TO DIE EXACTLY A FEW HUNDRED MILES AFTER THIS WARRANTY EXPIRES. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF THESE CARS OUT THERE. CAN SOMEONE INVESTIGATE BECAUSE WHY WILL MY CAR DIE EXACTLY A FEW MILES AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRE. HAVE THEY PLAYED WITH THE COMPUTERS TO DO ANOTHER SIMILAR THING? I HOPE NOT. WHAT I HOPE IS THAT IN GOOD FAITH VW REPAIRS MY CAR AT VW OF GARDEN GROVE HERE IN CALIFORNIA. BOTH REAR SPRINGS BROKE WITHOUT WARNING (AT SEPARATE TIMES). THIS CLEARLY SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AS I HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THAT IT'S A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE. *TR
IGNITION SWITCH IS STUCK, CANNOT TURN THE IGNITION ON.
CAR WAS IN PARK AND TRIED TURNING KEY TO TURN VEHICLE OFF. THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH AND CAR WILL NOT TURN OFF. DISCONNECTED BATTERY, CAR STILL WOULD NOT TURN OFF. I HAD TO REMOVE FUSE IN ORDER FOR CAR TO TURN OFF. KEY STILL NOT ABLE TO BE REMOVED. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THIS IS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH JETTAS AND NO RECALL AS BEEN ISSUED.
TWICE THE CAR JUST STALLS. ON THE ROAD OR IN A INTERSECTION. CAR WAS IN MOTION, ON STREET, AND JUST KILLED, MOTOR SHUT OFF! CHECKING SEVERAL FORUMS THERE HAS BEEN MULTIPLE REPORTS OF DIESELS PRIOR TO 2013 WHERE THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP GOES OUT. LUCKLY I DID NOT GET HIT BY ANOTHER CAR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY AND THE FUSIBLE LINK WERE REPLACED AND THE FAILURE CEASED. ONCE THE BATTERY AND FUSIBLE LINK WERE REPLACED, THE DOORS BECAME DIFFICULT TO LOCK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 142,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE ENGINE REVVED WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION SHOP. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND FILED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,708.
OVER A PERIOD OF TIME WITH READJUSTING THE DRIVER'S SEAT, IT HAS DISCONNECTED OR COMPROMISED THE AIRBAG WIRING REQUIRING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO CONFIRM AS WELL AS REMOVING THE ENTIRE SEAT TO CLEAR THE AIRBAG LIGHT. WITHOUT DOING SO THEY MAY NOT PROPERLY DISENGAGE.
STOPPED WORKING. WIPER MOTOR MALFUNCTION. BLADES STOPPED MID SWIPE, SITTING ON THE WINDSHIELD.
I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE ROAD AND WAS HEARING A ABNORMAL CREEKING SOUND. IT PERSISTED FOR A FEW DAYS AND WENT AWAY. AFTER A FEW WEEKS THE SOUND CAME BACK, BUT THIS TIME MUCH LOUDER. I WAS DRIVING BACK TO MY APPARTMENT AND I HEARD SOME METAL CLINKING AND THEN SAW A PIECE OF METAL BOUNCE DOWN THE ROAD BEHIND MY CAR. PART OF THE SUSPENSION COIL BROKE OFF. THIS WAS ON A CITY STREET, DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE STREET.
DRIVER SIDE OF MY JETTA LIGHTING WENT OFF , I WENT ONLINE TO SEE WHAT CAN BE WRONG WITH IT AND I SEE MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, THATS UNSAFE, SHOULD BE RECALLED, ITS NOT A FUSE OR LIGHT BULBS ,SO ITS THE WIRE IN, I THINK THIS IS NO SAFE TO BE DRIVING AND SHOULD BE CHECK , LIKE I SAY ITS MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, THANKS
LEFT SIDE DOOR LATCH MALFUNCTION: UNABLE TO OPEN DOOR FROM LEFT REAR EVEN WHEN CHILD PROTECTION IS DISABLED. COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN NEEDING TO EXIT VEHICLE. FAULTY DOOR LATCH ISSUES ARE WELL KNOWN TO OCCUR. THE LATCH ON THIS VEHICLE HAS MALFUNCTIONED FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS. 05
VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN 1.5 MILES AND PLACED INTO P WITH EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE IN A PRIVATE DRIVEWAY DURING SNOWY CONDITIONS. SEVEN HOURS LATER, ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE WAS NOT POSSIBLE BECAUSE KEY WOULD NOT TURN IN IGNITION DUE TO FAILURE OF THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER. TWO ORIGINAL KEYS ISSUED BY MANUFACTURER AT TIME OF PURCHASE WERE TRIED IN IGNITION, NEITHER WOULD TURN IGNITION BEYOND ACCESSORY TO ALLOW FOR START OF ENGINE. ATTEMPTS TO LUBRICATE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER AS RECOMMENDED BY VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT RENDERED NO RESULTS.VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY FLATBED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE TO BE STORED AS REPAIR EXPENSE IS NOT FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE AT THIS TIME. VEHICLE REQUIRES TOWING FOR SERVICE AND NEAREST VW DEALERSHIP IS MORE THAN 100 MILES AWAY. COMPLETE, SUDDEN FAILURE OF IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER CAUSED UNEXPECTED, IMMEDIATE, AND TOTAL LOSS OF USE OF SOLE VEHICLE LEAVING DRIVER STRANDED.
THE DOOR LOCKS AT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR LOCK AND UNLOCK THEMSELVES...THE RADIO WHICH ACCORDING TO THE VW DEALERSHIP HAS TO BE REPLACE BECAUSE IF I REPLACE WITH AN AFTER MARKET THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON IT....THEY CLAIM THE RADIO HAS TO BE VW
THE CAR RANDOMLY STALLS!!! THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG BECAUSE THERE ARE NO CODES. THIS IS SO DANGEROUS AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. TWICE THE CAR STALLED WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT AND ONCE WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET. IT WILL RESTART AFTER I LET IT SIT. IT ALSO STUTTERS/JUMPS AND DE EXCELLERATES.
AT HOME WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND STATIONARY, UPON REMOVAL OF THE REAR BENCH SEAT, I DISCOVERED SEVERE BURN MARKS UNDER THE SEAT. AS WELL AS SOME COINS THAT HAVE BEEN CEMENTED IN PLACE BY MELTED PLASTIC. THE BURNED AREA APPEARS TO BE RIGHT ABOVE THE EXHAUST.
I HAVE A 2011 JETTA SE 2.5L AUTO PZEV AND WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR OUTSIDE FROM MY HOUSE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON WITH NO REASON. I PASSED THE SCANNER AND THREW THE CODE P0106. THE CAR WOULD DRIVE WELL, BUT WHEN I RELEASE THE BRAKE AND PRESS GAS, THE CAR WOULDN'T REACT RIGHT AWAY, IT WOULD ACCELERATE SLOWLY AND KICK-IN I SECOND GEAR. THEN THE GEARS INDICATOR (PRND123) DISAPPEARS. I CHANGED THE MAP SENSOR AND WORKS GOOD FOR 3 OR 4 DAY. AFTER THIS THE PROBLEM RETURNS. I SAW A TECHNICAL BULLETIN FROM VOLKSWAGEN COMPANY AND THIS BULLETIN SAYS THAT THE CAR NEEDS AN UPDATE PROGRAMMING. I CALLED TO MY CONCESSIONARY AND THEY SAYS THAT I MUST TO PAY, FIRST FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, AND SECOND FOR THIS UPDATE. I HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATING ABOUT THIS TROUBLE AND TOO MANY OWNERS OF VOLKSWAGEN VEHICLES PRESENTS THIS FAULT, INCLUDING USA AND MEXICO. I GUESS THAT VOLKSWAGEN MUST CORRECT THIS PROBLEM WITH NO CHARGE. ATTACHED THE TECHNICAL BULLETIN 2034012 FROM VOLKSWAGEN.

VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS WENT COMPLETELY OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I CHECK THE FUSE AND CHANGE THE LOW BEAM BULBS AND STILL NOT WORKING.

THE CONTACT PLACED PLASTIC OVER THE SUN ROOF TO COVER THE DEFECTIVE PARTS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V615000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

I WENT TO A MECHANIC TWICE AND THEN THE DEALERSHIP, FOUND OUT THAT THE REAR ABS SENSOR NEEDS TO BE CHANGED TO GET RID OF ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL. AFTER THAT WAS PART WAS CHANGED AND THE FAULT CODE WAS CLEARED THE TRACTION CONTROL AND TIRE PRESSURE STILL REMAINED. AIR BAG LIGHT CODE WAS CLEARED TOO. AFTER A MONTH DRIVING ALL OF THOSE SAME LIGHT REAPPEARED AGAIN AFTER I STARTED UP MY CAR, I WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE LIGHTS REAPPEARED AND WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE IN CITY. THE LIGHTS DID NOT GO AWAY AFTER DRIVING. A BIG JOB NEEDS TO BE DONE IN WHICH THIS IS AN MANUFACTURER ERROR WHICH VW NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF. I'VE SPENT CLOSE TO $1100 OF PART AND LABOR AND THIS PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY IF THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM MIGHT CAUSED MY AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY OR TRACTION CONTROL MAY NOT ASSIST ME WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED LATE JULY AND THE SECOND OCCURRED SEPTEMBER 6.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED PENDING AN OFFICIAL RULING FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOW YARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
