KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION WHEN TURNING ENGINE OFF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE ALTERNATOR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED BRIEFLY. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A FAILURE REGARDING THE SECONDARY AIR PUMP SENSORY. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A WARRANTY EXTENSION. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
VW JETTA 2011 HAS BEEN DYING WHEN IDLING, IN PARK AND WHILE DECELERATING. IT WILL BE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT AND JUST LOSE POWER. IT HAS TO THEN BE PUT IN PARK AND THE KEY MUST BE TURNED TO COME BACK ON. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. RECENTLY, IT HAPPENED COMING OFF THE HIGHWAY GOING 45 MPH. CAR HAD TO COAST AND THE BRAKES WERE RIDDEN TO A STOP WHERE CAR HAD TO BE TURNED BACK ON. DEALERSHIP HAS ALLEGEDLY REPLACED ISSUES WITH THE EPC LIGHT COMING ON, TIMING BELT AND FELL PUMP. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THOUSANDS HAVE BEEN SPENT ON THIS ISSUE AND THE CAR KEEPS DYING. IT CURRENTLY HAS 115K MILES ON IT. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WHEN PUMPING GAS AT A GAS STATION. EVERY TIME THE CAR IS FILLED UP, IT WILL NOT STAY THE FIRST TIME TURNING THE KEY. THE GAS PEDAL MUST BE PRESSED A NUMBER OF TIME FOR THE ENGINE TO TURN OVER AND THEN THE GAS PEDAL MUST BE PUMPED TO KEEP THE ENGINE ON. RANDOMLY DYING ON THE HIGHWAY, ON CITY STREETS AND IN INTERSECTION IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE TO CARS, INJURIES AND DEATHS.
The contact owns a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that the horn was inoperable while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the horn was replaced several times; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the alarm system was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the failure was related to the electrical system. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V196000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
AT 46,800 MILES THE ABS CONTROL MODULE HAS FAILED. WHEN STARTING UP THE CAR, NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS INCLUDING (ABS, TRACTION, AIR BAG, AND BRAKE) ILLUMINATE. THESE LIGHTS REMAIN ON WITH ENGINE RUNNING AND VEHICLE IN MOTION. THERE ARE SEVERAL PAST AND CURRENT CLASS ACTION SUITES FOR THIS EXPENSIVE VOLKSWAGEN $3500 REPAIR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PLATINUM VOLKSWAGEN - SALES (340 W OLD COUNTRY RD, HICKSVILLE, NY 11801) WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" IM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTS ON DASH WHEN I PRESS ON BREAK THE OIL LAMP COMES ON. THEN THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS COME ON. THE FRONT RIGHT HEADLIGHT WORKS HALF THE TIME AND THE SAME WITH BREAKS THE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE WANT TO. THESE ARE THE ONLY ISSUES IM HAVING SO FAR EXCEPT THE AC DONT WORK AND ALWAYS GOES OUT!
WHILE PARKED THE IGNITION KEY FAILED TO TURN " AS IF STEERING WHEEL LOCK WAS WELDED SOLID". I COULD NOT TURN THE KEY AT ALL. CAR COULD NOT BE STARTED AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS, AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO A REPAIR AVAILABLE.AS A RESULT I HAD TO CALL A NEIGHBOR TO TAKE MY WIFE TO THE HOSPITAL. PARTS HAVE BEEN ORDERED, BUT THE MECHANIC HAS NOT RECEIVED A DELIVERY CONFIRMATION DATE. STEERING WHEEL IS COMPLETELY IMMOVABLE.
WHEN I PURCHASE THIS CAR 2 DAYS AFTER I PURCHASE THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON FLASHING THE CAR IDLES TOO HIGH WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH IT
IT ALL STARTED WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. APPARENTLY THE CAR JUMPED TIMING AND THE CRANKSHAFT WENT BAD. THIS CAUSED COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE JETTA. I BELIEVE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS NEEDED.
HAVING ISSUES WITH IGNITION SWITCH. I PARKED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF STORE LOCATION AND WHEN I RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND SPOKE TO A MECHANIC TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT AND RIGHT TO SEE IF THE SWITCH HAD JUST LOCKED BUT AFTER MORE THAN AN HOUR OF THIS IT STILL WOULD NOT TURN. MECHANIC WENT TO TRY TO WORK ON IT AND WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DO SO AND REFERRED ME TO AN IMPORT MECHANIC AS HE HAD RECENTLY REPLACED ANOTHER VOLKSWAGEN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. CURRENTLY VEHICLE IS NOW HAVING TO BE TOWED TO MECHANIC AS KEY CANNOT BE TURNED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING ISSUE WITH VOLKSWAGEN VEHICLES.
I HAVE BOUGHT AN OLDER 2011 VW FOR THE FIRST TIME IN CANADA FROM A USED CAR DEALER LOT IN BOLTON, ON. LITTLE DID I KNOW ABOUT VW'S, AS THE CAR WAS BARELY DRIVEN. NOW IN MY CAR GARAGE AND I MOVED TO THE US. I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL LETTERS STATING THAT THERE IS A RELAY SWITCH PROBLEM AND THERE IS NO FIX AVAILABLE FOR THIS CAR. IN LAY MAN'S TERMS, THE CAR KEYS CAN BE TAKEN OUT WITHOUT THE CAR BEING IN "PARKING" POSITION. 1800 NUMBER WAS GIVEN TO ME AND I AM GIVEN A RUNAROUND. THE NUMBER IN THE LETTER STATES CALL THIS NUMBER, AND THEY GIVE ME A RUNAROUND SAYING CALL VW CANADA, THERE IS NO MENTION TO CALL THAT NUMBER. I WANT THE DEALER TO TAKE THE CAR BACK AND GIVE ME A BOOK VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. NO RECOURSE TO THIS ISSUE SO FAR. AS THEY ARE DODGING TO RESOLVE ISSUE WITH CUSTOMERS FOR RELAY SWITCH PROBLEM, YET I CONTINUE TO GET THEIR LETTERS INFORMATING THE CAR HAS BECOME "NON-COMPIANT AS PER NORTH AMERICAN STANDARDS. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, THE CAR HAD AN ALARM GOING OFF WITHOUT THE CAR KEY IN IGNITION. DEALER ADVISED TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT. IT COULD BE THE RELAY SWITCH PROBLEM. SOMEONE HAS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THESE FAULTY CARS? COMPLIANCE RECALL 37 M2.
ON 05/22/2019 AROUND 6 PM, MY WIFE PARKED THE CAR (VW JETTA, 2011 WAS STATIONED IN PARKING MODE), TURNED THE CAR OFF AT 309 SMITH STREET, NEWARK, NJ 07108, THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR ROLLED BACK THE DOWNHILL, CROSSED SMITH STREET TO HIT OUR NEIGHBOR CAR ON THE RIGHT SIDE, A BLACK HONDA ACCORD PARKED IN FRONT OF 310 SMITH STREET (A ONE WAY STREET). A POLICE COMPLAINT WAS NOT FILED. I SPENT ALMOST $500.0 TO PARTIALLY FIX MY NEIGHBOR CAR. WE WERE LUCKY THAT ANOTHER CAR WAS NOT DRIVING BY, NOR A PEDESTRIAN WALKING BY. WE DIDN'T THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT, BUT FOUND IT WEAR. ALMOST 3 WEEKS BEFORE, ALSO, MY WIFE COME BACK FROM THE GROCERY STORE, SHE PARKED THE CAR, TURNED THE CAR OFF, WENT OUT AND REMOVED THE GROCERY FROM THE TRUNK, AND SUDDENLY THE CAR ROLLED BACK TO CRUSH THE GROCERY ITEMS ON THE FLOOR AND ROLLED OVER RIGHT FOOT
DRIVING MY CAR I WOULD COME TO A STOP AND MY CAR WOULD SHUT OFF. MY BATTERY LIGHT WOULD THEN APPEAR. HAD BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED 4X WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. BATTERY COMES ON BUT RADIO STILL ON. I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD TO BE A WIRING PROBLEM. SO I TOOK IT TO MY VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SAFE DRIVING THE CAR ON CITY STREETS AND SOMETIMES ON THE INTERSTATE. I JUST NEED MY CAR FIXED IT HAS CAUSED ME SO MUCH STRESSED I AM NOW ON HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION.
PREMATURE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB FAILURE. THE LOW BEAM H7 BULBS FAIL AFTER JUST 2 TO 3 MONTHS OF USE. I HAVE USED OEM BULBS, SYLVANIA BULBS OF EVERY LEVEL, AND THE BULBS STILL FAIL AFTER A SHORT TIME. DOING A QUICK ONLINE SEARCH WILL SHOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH EVEN NEWER (SAME BODY STYLE) JETTAS.
WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER WE WENT TO HAVE THE BRAKES CHECKED AND FOUND OUT ALL THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE RUSTED SO BAD THE BUSHING WAS BROKEN OFF AND THERE WAS NO EMERGENCY BRAKE. THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION YET THE DEALER SAID HE JUST HAD IT PASS INSPECTION. ALSO THE TI-ROD BAR IN THE BACK WAS BROKEN THE REAR SPRINGS WERE RUSTED AND BROKE.
I HAVE BEEN GETTING HORRIBLE GAS MILAGE (250 PER TANK). THIS HAS BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR NOW OF TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS (DRIVING, FUELING, REPAIRS, ECT.).
KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION WHEN TURNING ON OR OFF THE ENGINE.
WILL NOT START AND STALLING WHEN SITTING AND DRIVING ON ROAD NO WARNING LIGHTS

BAXTER VOLKSWAGEN (7108 S 124TH CIR, LAVISTA, NE) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION AND I CANNOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE.
THE RIGHT REAR SEAT BELT FAILS TO RETRACT. THE SEAT BELT WAS PULLED OUT TO BUCKLE AND FAILED TO RETRACT TO FIT THE PASSENGER. IT IS ALL THE WAY OUT AND CANNOT BE USED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA SPORTWAGEN. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ACTIVATED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V196000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
KEY STUCK IN IGNITION SWITCH IN THE ON POSITION
FRONT DRIVER SIDE COIL SPRING SNAPPED WHILE TURNING AND BACKING UP FROM DRIVEWAY. MILEAGE IS $73K. TO REPLACE THE SPRING AT THE VW-CERTIFIED DEALER WAS $1100.
BROKEN TRAILING ARM AFTER 3 DAYS OF PURCHASE FROM DEALERSHIP DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX IT RECALL FOR MY CAR REAR TRAILING ARM I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STARTED JUMPING IT SEEMED LIKE, LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE THEN I COULD NO LONGER DRIVE IT. TOWED CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT I BROKE THE REAR CONTROL ARM AND REFUSED TO FIX IT. I DO BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE REAR TRAILING ARM. IS MY BROKEN TRAILING ARM COVERED UNDER THE RECALL? IF SO, ISN'T MY DEALERSHIP WHERE I GOT THE CAR REQUIRED TO FIX THIS?
I WAS RETURNING HOME. STOPPED AT A LOCAL STORE AND WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR AND STARTED IT I HAD A LOT OF LIGHTS ON THE DASH FLASHING. I TRIED TO BACK AWAY FROM THE PARKING SPOT AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE THE ENGINE WOULD DIE. I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS ON THE LOW MARK. I MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO A LOCAL PARTS STORE, THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. I OBTAINED SOME DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID. JUST AFTER I FILLED THE BRAKE FLUID TO THE FULL MARK THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH WENT OUT AND ALL SEEMED FINE. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE LIGHTS CAME BACK INDICATING THE BRAKING ANTILOCK SYSTEM HAD QUIT WORKING (THE SAME LIGHTS AS BEFORE) I TOOK IT TO A VW DEALER AND SPENT $453. TO FIND OUT IT HAD A "LOT OF CODES" AT THAT POINT I DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR HOME AND PARK IT. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP I HAD NO LIGHTS THE CAR PREFORMED FLAWLESSLY THE REST OF THE DAY.
The ABS module in this vehicle has failed as the ABS, Traction Control, Airbag, and Brake lights are all on with the brake light flashing. The dealership stated a new module would be needed to have functioning anti lock brakes. In reference to case - NHTSA: 16V913, I believe the same components are the same as the power train did not change between the two vehicles. I am having the same symptoms as stated in this document but there is no recall as of yet.
MY RADIO STOPPED WORKING. MY WARRANTY JUST RAN OUT AND THEN MY RADIO GOES. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS A COINCIDENCE. AFTER READING MANY ARTICLES ONLINE I SEE THAT THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE. IN TODAY'S WORLD "KNOWN ISSUE" MEANS THAT WE KNOW IT'S A PROBLEM, BUT WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT. VW SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FIX. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND THE RADIO, OUT OF THE BLUE STOPPED WORKING.
THE ABS MODULE ON THIS MODEL KEEPS BREAKING EVERY 88,00 MILES
WHILE IN CAR WAS DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MIN AT LEAST AND NOTICED CAR WAS SMOKING. PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND POPPED THE HOOD TO CHECK WHY IT WAS SMOKING AND NOTICED VEHICLE WAS UNDER FIRE. CAR WAS PARKED PRIOR FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE AIR BAG OFF WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTER TWO MONTHS, THE RADIO AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION KEY SWITCH THAT HAS BEEN MORE DIFFICULT TO START UP AND TURN IT OFF WHEN IS STATIONARY OF CURSE. THE SWITCH ITS GETTING STUCK OR JAMMED AND WONT MOVE ANY WHERE UNTIL SO MANY TRIES AND MOVING THE DRIVE WHEEL. I SPEND 1 HRS YESTERDAY 04/13/19 TRYING TO POWER THE ENGINE OFF BECAUSE OF THE IGNITION KEY AND MY WIFE DRIVE THE CAR TOO BUT SHE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND SHE CALLED ME TO HELP HER. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM SINCE JANUARY 2019 AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO. I HAVE OTHER PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER SEAT THAT IS CRACKING WHEN I'M DRIVING AND PRESS THE BREAK PEDAL MY SEAT MAKE A CLICK AND NOISE EVERY TIME THE CAR CHANGE THE SPEED.
THERE ARE MULTIPLE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD. THE ABS, BRAKE, TRACTION CONTROL, AIRBAG, AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ARE ALL ON WHEN STARTING THE CAR AND STAY ON. THE TPMS LIGHT SOMETIMES SHUTS OFF BUT SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. THERE IS A SIMILAR PROBLEM ON 2006-2010 JETTAS AND THERE WAS A RECALL THAT RESOLVED A SIMILAR PROBLEM.
CAR HAS LESS THAN 44,000 MILES AND RADIO STOPPED WORKING. NO WARNING..JUST STOPPED WORKING.
WIND NOISE COMING FROM DRIVER SIDE DOOR.
LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS GO DARK WITHIN A YEAR AT BEST. I HAVE REPLACED HEADLIGHT BULBS AT LEAST 6 TIMES SINCE I'VE OWNED IT. I RECENTLY REPLACED ONE BULB AND THE NEXT DAY IT WAS OUT. UPON INSPECTION, THE BULB DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE 'BURNED-OUT'. OTHER LIGHTS FUNCTION, INCLUDING THE LOW-BEAM ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR.
THE DIAGNOSTICS MECHANISM FOR LATE MODEL VOLKSWAGEN IS VIA THE RADIO, THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THE DEALER OR MECHANIC CAN DIAGNOSE ANY ISSUES WITH THESE VEHICLES IS VIA THE RADIO. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT I COULD NOT BUY A 3RD PARTY RADIO, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK IF A DEALER OR MECHANIC CAN'T LOOK AT THE DIAGNOSTICS ON THE VEHICLE. MY ONLY OPTION IS TO BUY A RADIO FROM VOLKSWAGEN SO THEY CAN RUN SAFETY DIAGNOSTICS. WE NEED AN IMMEDIATE RECALL ON ALL AFFECTED VOLKSWAGEN WITH THIS RADIO ISSUE. AGAIN, THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK!!! THE DEALER IS SELLING RADIOS ON THE FLOOR TO FIX THIS ISSUE - SEE ATTACHED PICTURE. I WAS TOLD BY THE MANAGER OF THE VW AUTO SHOP THAT ALL DIAGNOSTICS COMPUTER INFORMATION ABOUT THE CAR IS DONE VIA THE RADIO - WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION IT IS A HUGE SAFETY AND CARS ARE OUT ON THE ROAD WITH POTENTIALLY BIG PROBLEMS THAT COULD CAUSE A HUGE SAFETY RISK TO DRIVERS. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND I SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC. I REACHED BEHIND MY BACK AND BURNED MY FINGER. I PULLED OFF AND LOOKED AND SAW A HOLD AND MELTED SEAT. THE BACK OF MY COAT WAS MELTED AS WELL. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A VW DEALER TO BE INSPECTED AND IT WAS CAUSED BY A WIRE SHORTING OUT. THERE IS A CASE NOW OPEN FOR ME WITH VW. WAITING TO HEAR IF THEY WILL PAY TO FIX THE SEAT.
WHEN DRIVING CAR THE ENGINE WILL STALL AND LOCK UP THE POWER STEERING. IT MAY HAPPEN 3-4 TIMES WITHIN IN 3 MILE DISTANCE. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT AUTO REPAIR SHOPS ONE OF WHICH DEALS ONLY WITH GERMAN MOTORS. THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE DIAGNOSED. AFTER REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP AND CRANK SHAFT SENSOR THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THIS IS SO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AS YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. PLEASE HELP WITH SUGGESTIONS AS THE MECHANICS AREN'T ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THANK YOU
ALWAYS HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES, ALWAYS CHANGING FUSE FOR HORN, HORN "NEVER" WORKS! ISSUES WITH IGNITION, DIFFICULT TO TURN OFF, NOT CANNOT TURN ON AT ALL, KEY WON'T TURN ENOUGH, CONTACT VOLKSWAGEN, ADVISED OUT OF WARRANTY, NO RECALL FOR ISSUES I AM HAVING, VW DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT-VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX, VW WILL DO NOTHING,TOLD ME NOT A COMMON ISSUE (ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS READ THROUGH THE COMPLAINTS ON HERE AND FIND LOTS OF PEOPLE W/SAME ISSUE(S) WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VW TO ANYONE!
MY VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 2011 SEEMS TO HAVE MISFIRE. IT HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THE CAR SHAKES WHEN SLOW DOWN AND/OR AT STOPS. VW CERTIFIED MECHANIC TRIED CHANGING THE PLUGS, AND CLEANING THE VALVES BUT NOTHING HELPED. HE ALSO TIED SHAFT CRANK SENSOR THAT DID NOT HELP EITHER. FINALLY THE DIAGNOSIS REPORT INDICATED THAT IT'S TIMING CHAIN ISSUE THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED.

PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF EVEN WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. IF SOMEONE DOES NOT HAVE THE SEATBELT FASTENED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE BELL AND LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON.

IGNITION KEY WILL NOT TURN ENGINE OFF, CANNOT REMOVE WITHOUT 10 MINUTES OF JIGGLING. SECOND OCCURRENCE, SECOND REPAIR. MY VEHICLE HAS 49,800 MILES. IGNITION MODULE AND ASSOCIATED PARTS WERE REPLACED IN 2015 DUE TO FAILURE AND NOW IN SEPTEMBER 2018 DUE TO FAILURE. KEY ALSO BROKE DUE TO REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO REMOVE.

ON ONE OCCASION, AFTER DRIVING INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK SENSOR WAS FAULTY. THE CRANK SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE LOCAL DEALER (WHITE ALLEN VOLKSWAGEN, 648 SPRINGBORO PIKE, DAYTON, OH) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
MY HORN AND FRONT RIGHT PARKING LIGHT BOTH STOPPED WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. I NOTICED THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME MAKE/MODEL/YEAR AS MY CAR, BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. I WILL NEED TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED AND PAY FOR IT, HOWEVER, I DO HOPE VW AND NHTSA SEES THIS IS A PROBLEM AND EXPAND THE RECALL TO INCLUDE MORE MODELS.
BESIDES THE PROBLEM I HAVE REPORTED ABOUT THE CAR SPUTTERING LOOSING POWER AND EVEN STALLING ONCE ITS ON 1/4 TANK. NOW I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ALTERNATOR CHARGING THE BATTERY. I REPLACE THE MUTLI FUSE, AND THE ALTERNATOR. ITS STILL NOT CHARGING. I HAD THE OLD ALTERNATOR TESTED AND IT WORKS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT ELSE IT COULD BE, MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS RESOLVED.
