THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT NO FAILURE COULD BE DETERMINED OR DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V196000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
IN A ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS STOPPED AND HIT IN THE REAR AND PUSHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. HEAVY FRONT AND REAR DMG AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, JUST SOME SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE DASH LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE GLOW PLUG INDICATOR LIGHT STARTS FLASHING WITH A LOSE OF POWER. THE VEHICLE STALLS BUT LUCKILY WHILE EXITING FREEWAY. THE JETTA WAS TOWED TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED HPFP FAILURE AND THE WHOLE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR WAS NOT FIXED ($6000) AS IT WAS PAST THE WARRANTY BY 1000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS RESTARTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP BREAKDOWN LITTERED THE DIESEL INJECTION SYSTEM WITH METAL PARTICLES. AT LEAST THE FOLLOWING WERE DAMAGED, ACCORDING TO VOLKSWAGEN FUEL PUMP HAS METAL IN IT INTAKE FUEL PUMP HIGH PRESSURE PUMP AUXILLARY FUEL PUMP FUEL LINES 4 INJECTORS FUEL RAIL W/SENSORS THIS IS A $6,500 FIX AND THERE IS AN ASTRONOMICAL FAILURE RATE THAT IS GREATER THAN 1%. I BELIEVE THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE REVISITED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER WAS BUSY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *TT *TR
MY LIGHTS BEGAN FAILING WITHOUT WARNING. FRONT HEADLIGHT, REAR TAIL LIGHT, LICENSE PLATE LIGHT, DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS, BACK UP LIGHTS. IN TOTAL, 7 LIGHTS FAILED WITHIN MINUTES. VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON AND MOVING ON A CITY STREET. WARNING LIGHTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE TOLD ME THAT LIGHTS FAILED WHEN I USED THEM (SIGNALS, BRAKES, HEADLIGHTS, ETC). DROVE DIRECTLY TO DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR/REPORT PROBLEM. RESEARCH TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE AND A NHTSA RECALL ON 2009 AND 2010 MODELS. OUR 2011 DID NOT HAVE A RECALL ON IT, BUT ISSUE WAS IDENTICAL. CONTACTED VW CUSTOMER SERVICE. CASE #160222423. THEY AGREED TO PAY 75%.
VEHICLE CLUTCH PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE WOULD STILL START BUT ONLY IN NEUTRAL. IF I WERE TO TRY AND START VEHICLE IN A GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH PRESSED IN THE CAR JUMPS FORWARD OR REVERSE. THIS COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO BE CRUSHED IF THEY WERE STANDING IN FRONT OR BEHIND WHEN VEHICLE IS BEING STARTED. ALSO IF THIS FAILURE WERE TO HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING THE CAR WOULD NOT COME OUT OF GEAR AND COULD CAUSE AND ACCIDENT. LUCKILY MINE FAILED IN MY GARAGE OVER NIGHT. BROWSING AROUND ON THE INTERNET IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD FAILURES WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 90,000 MILES. CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS AIR GETTING INTO THE HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM. THE SLAVE CYLINDER WAS BLEED AND IT WORKED FINE AGAIN. I ENDED UP REMOVING THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACING THE SLAVE AND MASTER CYLINDER SINCE THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE BAD. NO VISIBLE FLUID COMING FROM EITHER PART THOUGH.
SINCE 2012 I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS INCLUDING BREAK AND TAIL LIGHTS. MY HEAD LIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT LEAST AT 8 TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS OR SO. VW CLAIMS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND ITS MY FAULT BECAUSE I AM NOT REPLACING THEM WITH THEIR BRAND AND BUYING THEM ELSEWHERE.
MAP SENSORE (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR) HAS REPEATEDLY WENT BAD EVEN A DAY AFTER CHANGING IT. I HAD REPLACED THE SENSOR IN FEBRUARY THEN AGAIN IN MARCH AND AGAIN IN MARCH A DAY OR 2 THEN AGAIN IN JULY AFTER JUST REPLACING IT. IT HAS NO HOSE LEAKS OR ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT THAT VOLKSWAGEN COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE THE MAP SENSOR CONTINUE TO FAIL.
FUSE BOX WITH BLOWN FUSES . UNABLE TO REPLACE FUSES WITHOUT DIAGRAM. VW DEALER STATES I NEED TO BRING CAR IN AND PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH TOTALS OVER $100.00 THAT I CANNOT AFFORD. I AM ABLE TO CHANGE FUSES MYSELF THAT ARE BLOWN BUT NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE FUSE IS FOR AND THIS IS WHAT VW DEALER TOLD ME I HAVE TO DO, GET TEST FROM VW DEALER OR PAY FOR A DIAGRAM. I FEEL THIS IS WRONG, AS LONG AS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING, ALL FUSE BOXES WILL HAVE A DIAGRAM OF FUSES SO INDIVIDUAL CAN CHANGE FUSE THEMSELVES. MY HORN DOES NOT CONSISTENTLY WORK. WHEN I'M DRIVING IT ONLY WORKS SOMETIMES DUE TO BELIEVED TO BE FAULTY ELECTRICAL. MY DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE. A NOISE SOUNDS BUT THEY DO NOT ENGAGE CAUSING SAFETY ISSUE. MY WIPER BLADES DO NOT ALWAYS WORK CORRECTLY NOR DO THEY SPRAY WIPER SPRAY CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES. MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS FAULTY CAUSING ONE DOOR TO STAY UNLOCKED UNLESS LOCKED WITH KEY. MY ALARM SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DOES NOT PROPERLY WORK AND WILL STOP IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE SAME DOOR IS HAVING LOCKING ISSUE. THERE IS KNOWN RECALL FOR OTHER 2011 MODELS ON ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I CALLED VW AND THEY SAID MY VIN WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS OTHER JETTA OWNERS WITH SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL AND WITH ACTIVE RECALL BUT VW REFUSES TO FIX MY CAR. I COULD GET INTO ACCIDENT DUE TO FAULTY HORN, FAULTY DOOR LOCKS, FAULTY VISIBILITY AND WIPERS THAT DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS CLEARLY FAULTY IF ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE FAILING AT ONCE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO FIRESTONE AND THEY SAID FAULTY COMPUTER ISSUES NEED TO BE FIXED BY VW. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD.
IM EXPERIENCING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR. FIRST OF ALL THE LIGHTS DON'T ALWAYS WORK THEY WOULD TURN ON AND OFF ON THEIR OWN UNTIL FINALLY STOPPED COMPLETELY. THE NEXT PROBLEM IT HAS WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT IT LOOSES POWER AND SHAKES AND STALLS. THEN I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING ONE TIME I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY THE CAR CUT OFF AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED THANKFUL I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY AT THE TIME. THEN AGAIN ON THE FREEWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET OVER AND PULL OFF BEFORE IT STALLED THE CAR PUTTING AND I WAS GIVING GAS BUT CAR DID NOT WANT TO GO IT WAS NOT GAINING SPEED IT WAS ON THE VERGE OF STALLING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ITS MY ONLY VEHICLE I'M AFRAID OF IT CUTTING OFF AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND A ACCIDENT OCCURRING. THE CAR STALLING IS WHILE DRIVING AND WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE OR IN PARK. IT ALSO HAS A PROBLEM WHILE IN PARK AND FOOT ON BRAKE THE CARS RPM RAVE ON THEIR OWN.
THE RADIO LOUD POPPING WENT DEAD . TURNS ON BY ITSELF SOMETIMES ABOUT 1 TIME EVERY 2 WEEKS OR SO. LOUD POPPING STATLED WHILE DRIVING.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE WORKING INTERMITTENTLY IN THE COLD WEATHER... BUT AS SOON AS IT WARMS UP OR THE VEHICLE IS PULLED INTO A GARAGE... WIPERS BEGIN TO WORK AS NORMAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLES HORN IS ALSO DOING THE SAME THING. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND/OR MOVING IN EXTREME COLD WEATHER. VEHICLE DID THIS 2 YEARS AGO (2/14/2014). VW DEALERSHIP REPLACED HORN AND WIPER SWITCH. PROBLEM IS NOW OCCURRING AGAIN INTERMITTENTLY. MY VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO A TRUSTED VW MECHANIC TODAY (1/5/2016) WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH 3 DIFFERENT ELECTRICAL TROUBLE CODES BUT FOUND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE HORN OR WIPERS INDIVIDUALLY. THROUGH RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND FOUND MANY SIMILAR STORIES WITH INTERMITTENT WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND HORNS IN THE COLD ON VW JETTAS 2011 AND LATER IN ARTICLES AND FORUMS. MY MECHANIC FEELS THAT THERE MAY BE FAULTY WIRING IN THESE VEHICLES THAT WITH EXTREME COLD CONDITIONS DOES NOT ALLOW THE FULL CONDUCTION OF ELECTRICITY TO PROPERLY ACTIVATE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND/OR HORN WHICH CAN BE A HAZARD WHILE DRIVING ESPECIALLY IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. VW ADMITS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN PREVIOUS RECALLS TO PROBLEMS WITH MALFUNCTIONING WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND/OR HORNS BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. ADDITIONALLY, VW IS REFUSING TO ADMIT THAT THIS IS A LARGER PROBLEM THEN JUST MY VEHICLE AND IS NOT WILLING TO HAVE THE ISSUE FULLY LOOKED INTO.
I OWN A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA THAT WAS DIAGNOSED BY A VW DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING FAILURE THAT IS IDENTICAL TO YOUR RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V483000. MY AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON AT ALL TIMES AND WILL NOT DEPLOY IF NEEDED. DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM NOT WORKING. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE REPLACED BUT THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE WITH FAULTY PARTS OR ELECTRICAL.
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED CONTAINATED THE FUEL SYSTEM WITH METAL PARTICLES WELL I WAS ON VACATION ON FIVE LANE FREEWAY JUST SOUTH OF PASADENA HIGHWAY 5 FALL LEFT LANE JUST STOPPED RUNNING ALMOST ACCIDENT TRYING TO CROSS FOUR LANES WITH NO POWER.
LIGHTS STARTED RANDOMLY GOING OUT, AND CONTROL CENTER STARTED NAMING SEVERAL DIFFERENT BULBS THAT WERE OUT. WHEN TAKEN TO DEALER NOTHING WAS WRONG. I TOOK CAR HOME AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. THE NEXT MORNING CAR ACTED UP AGAIN, SO I VIDEO TAPED IT AND TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER WHILE LEAVING RUNNING SO THEY COULD SEE. THIS TIME THEIR COMPUTER RECOGNIZED THE FAULT, WHICH WAS A FAULTY FUSE PANEL THAT WAS MELTING YET NOT TRIPPING FUSE.
THE RIGHT HALF OF MY JETTA LOST ALL OF ITS EXTERIOR LIGHTING SUDDENLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE UNIVERSITY VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP HERE IN SEATTLE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT FUSE SB16 AKA F16 MELTED CAUSING THE FUSE PANEL TO ALSO MELT. REPAIR INVOLVED REPLACING FUSE PANEL AND NEW UPDATED VERSION OF SB16 FUSE. THIS FUSE WAS THE SUBJECT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 13V569000 IN MY 2009 - 2011 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN AND THE 2009 -2010 JETTA. IT SEEMS THAT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN THE MY 2011 JETTA.

AUTOMATIC CAR WAS "PARKED", TURNED OFF. KEY REMOVED, THOUGH IT WAS NOT IN P. EMERGENCY BRAKE WORKS AND APPLIED, BUT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN APPLIED ALL THE WAY. ROLLED BACK ACROSS THE LOW LOW GRADE PARKING LOT AND OUR WHITE CAR BUMPED A ... BLACK PORSCHE! DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ANY DAMAGE OTHER THAN PAINT SMUDGE/TRANSFER FROM THE BUMPER. IGNITION SWITCH KEY LOCK SOLENOID (N376) PROBLEM. HELLO, MY WIFE'S 2011 JETTA HAS A MALFUNCTIONING IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER. PERHAPS THE IGNITION SWITCH KEY LOCK SOLENOID (N376)? NORMALLY THE KEY SHOULD BE LOCKED IN THE IGNITION WHILE THE CAR IS IN D(DRIVE). HOWEVER, THERE APPEARS TO BE A MALFUNCTION IN THE N376 (OR OTHER) WHICH DOES NOT ENGAGE THE LOCKING SOLENOID. THIS ALLOWS FOR THE KEY TO BE PULLED OUT WHILE IN D. SHE WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND PULL THE KEYS OUT OF THE CAR WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL IN D(DRIVE), GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND THE CAR ROLLED BACK AND HIT A PORSCHE. THANKFULLY THE CAR DID NOT RUN OVER A CHILD OR OTHER PERSON. FROM BRIEF RESEARCH I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE RECALLS ON SIMILAR ITEMS, HERE IS AN ARTICLE ON ONE THOUGH NOT SPECIFICALLY ON THE 2011 JETTA.
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A CITY HIGHWAY, THE CAR STALLED, AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THIS HAPPENED IN MODERATE TRAFFIC, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO COAST OUT OF THE ROAD AND INTO A PARKING LOT. THE DEALER WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR ANALYZED THE FUEL SYSTEM, AND RULED THAT OUT. HE FOUND A BAD FUSE RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP, AND CLAIMS AT THIS TIME THAT IT IS PROBABLY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. AT THIS TIME, THE EXACT CAUSE REMAINS UNKNOWN. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT WE'VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, THOUGH THE PREVIOUS TWO TIMES THE DEALERS CLAIMED THAT IT WAS A FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE.
CAR SHAKES WHEN DRIVING TO THE POINT WE HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF AS IT PLEASES AS DOES THE EPC LIGHT. CAR WON'T ACCELERATE WHILE SHAKING.

I HAVE OWNED A 2011 JETTA SINCE IT WAS RELEASED AND THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD TO HVAE THE HEADLIGHTS REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS NO MATTER WHAT SIDE OR BRAND OF BULB AND THERE IS NO INDICATION AS TO WHY.
SIMILAR TO OTHER REPORTS HERE, EXTREME INNER SIDEWALL CRACKING; NO INDICATION FROM OUTSIDE; APPROXIMATELY 1/2 OF USABLE TREAD REMAINING. THIS AFFECTED ALL 4 TIRES AND WAS INSPECTED AT VW DEALER. HANKOOK COMMUNICATION OCCURRED WITH DETERMINATION OF TREAD SEPARATION. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS IT IS HIDDEN FROM EASY INSPECTION.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON, VW MECHANIC DIAGNOSED STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING FAILURE, AND INDICATED THE AIRBAGS MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY. THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE LIGHT APPEARED AND THE PROBLEM PERSIST, VW DEALERS ACKNOWLEDGE ISSUE BUT WONT FIX AS THIS VIN'S PARTS WEREN'T COVERED BY THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL RECALL.
CAR WITH APPROXIMATELY 56,500 MILES. ABOUT 50 MILES AFTER FUELING WITH DIESEL FUEL FROM A SUNOCO STATION, GLOW PLUG LIGHT STARTED BLINKING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND CAR ENTERED A "LIMP MODE". WAS ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE ONTO A HIGHWAY FROM AN ON RAMP. WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO GO OVER 25 MILES PER HOUR. BROUGHT TO NEAREST VW DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP HAD ESSENTIALLY DISINTEGRATED AND THERE ARE METAL SHARDS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM, WHICH WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. FUEL SAMPLE SENT TO VW FOR TESTING. AWAITING TO HEAR FROM DEALER WHETHER OR NOT THIS WILL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
MY CARS LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS UNEXPECTEDLY STOPPED WORKING AFTER BRINGING IT INTO THE WEST BROAD VOLKSWAGEN OF RICHMOND, VA FOR A SAFETY RECALL. I THOUGHT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A CHANCE THAT THEY BOTH BURNED OUT SIMULTANEOUSLY AND HAD THE LIGHT BULBS CHANGED, BUT STILL NO LUCK. I ALSO PURCHASED A NEW LIGHT SWITCH FOR MY DASH AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. I AM A COLLEGE STUDENT AND DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY TO SPEND ON BLIND DIAGNOSES. MY DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS WORK AND MY HIGH BEAMS, JUST NOT MY LOW BEAMS. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MANY VOLKSWAGEN JETTA DRIVERS FROM THEIR STANDARD MODELS, THROUGH SE-SEL, AND UP INTO THE TDI TRIMS. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS, BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE DURING DUSK AND IF I EVER NEED TO DRIVE AT NIGHT I AM FORCED TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS.
2011 VW JETTA NOT COMPLETING DOWNSHIFTING THE CAR WILL LURCH WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP BECAUSE OF THE INCOMPLETE SHIFT. SITTING AT A STOP SIGN I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD ABOUT 4 INCHES. THIS TOOK PLACE SEVERAL TIMES. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BAD VALVE BODY IN THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER LOOKING ON COUNTLESS FORUMS AND LOOKING AT SERVICE BULLETINS ITS HAPPEN TO MANY PEOPLE. I WOULD VENTURE TO SAY THIS IS A CARRYOVER TRANSMISSION FROM OTHER MODEL YEARS AND OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. COULD PROVE TO BE FATAL IF YOU WERE TO BE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND A CHILD WAS TO WALK OUT IN FRONT OF YOU!!!!

AIRBAG ICON COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY, DIAGNOSIS SHOWS DRIVERS AIRBAG HIGH RESISTANCE, RESETTABLE. FIX IS CLOCK SPRING REPLACEMENT. VOLKSWAGEN DEALER SAYS VIN ISN'T IN CURRENT RECALL BUT IS PROBLEM IS VIRTUALLY THE SAME ERROR AS OTHER SPORTWAGENS RECALLS AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT TO MENTION THE COST.
THE CAR IS A 2011 VW JETTA SW TDI. ON SEPT 7, 2015, WHILE DRIVING ON THE AUTOBAHN, THE CAR'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ACTIVATED AND THE CAR ABRUPTLY LOST POWER. I COASTED TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. IT WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST VW DEALER. WE HAD TO RENT A VEHICLE FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS. VW SAID THE FUEL PUMP WAS DESTROYED DUE TO TAINTED DIESEL FUEL. REPORTS INDICATED THAT METAL SHAVINGS WERE FOUND IN FUEL SAMPLES. VW REPLACED THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM AT A COST OF EIGHT THOUSAND EUROS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE ESSO STATION & HEADQUARTERS. ESSO HAS INDICATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPORTS OF TAINTED DIESEL FUEL AT THE STATION. I AM BEING SHUFFLED BETWEEN THE ESSO STATION & THE VW DEALERSHIP. IT IS OBVIOUS WHO THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY IS. VW NEEDS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND DEMONSTRATE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE DIESEL COIL LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND OUR VEHICLE LOST POWER. WE PULLED OFF OF THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE STALLED, SO WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS A FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE(METAL IN THE SYSTEM) AND SENT THE FUEL TO BE TESTED. TEST RESULT SAID INSUFFICIENT LUBRICANT IN FUEL, THEREFORE REPAIRS NOT COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. DEALERSHIP INFORMED US THAT WE NEEDED TO BE USING "TOPTIER" DIESEL. WE RESEARCHED THIS (HAVING NEVER BEEN TOLD THIS BEFORE) AND REALIZED WE HAD PURCHASED DIESEL FROM A "TOPTIER" LISTED STATION (SHELL). DEALERSHIP TOLD US TO MAKE A CLAIM WITH OUR INSURANCE COMPANY SINCE IT WAS AN "OUTSIDE INFLUENCE" THAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. INSURANCE COMPANY IS INVESTIGATING WHETHER OR NOT THIS IS A VALID CLAIM.
I HAVE ISSUES WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. EVERY OTHER MONTH MY HEADLIGHT GOES OUT. WHEN I DROVE OFF THE LOT I HAD ONE HEADLIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS. I IMMIEATELY WENT UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL <DASH> AND SEEN IT WAS A PIPE NOT COVERED.I HAVE HAD MANY CARS AND I HAVE NEVER FELT ANY THING SO HOT UNDER A DASH.I HAD THREE BLISTERS.EACH TOE HAD A TINY BLISTER.THATS WHEN I SEEN ALL THE RUST EVERYWHER OR ANYWHERE THERE IS METAL IS COVERED WITH RUST.THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE REAR END .I NOTICED AFTER I TOOK IT IN THAT THE TIRES DIIDNT LOOK EVEN IN THE BACK.DRIVER SIDE TIRE BOWS INWARD ON THE TOP SIDE AND THE OTHER SIDE DOESNT. THE CAR , 2011 VW JETTA TDI, STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR THE THIRD TIME. THIS IS THIRD REPAIR TO THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM. METAL DEBRIS WERE FOUND PER DEALER. THE SECOND TIME WAS APPROX 1 1/2 YRS AGO WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH 2 KIDS. THE FIRST TIME WAS APPROX 3 YRS AGO.
VEHICLE BEGAN STUTTERING AND LOST POWER. AFTER AN ADDITIONAL 20 SECONDS SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT RESTART. IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE DIESEL FUEL PUMP AS METAL DEBRIS WERE FOUND. DEALER CLAIMS VW MUST TEST FUEL HOWEVER I KNOW THE CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN PROPERLY FUELED AND HAS THE FUELING SAFEGUARD DEVICE INSTALLED.
RADIO POPPED AND WENT DEAD CAUSING A AMPERAGE DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. FUSES HAVE BEEN VERIFIED AS GOOD BUT THE RADIO WILL NOT TURN BACK ON EVEN AFTER RESETS.

ENGINE IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF AND RPM WENT IMMEDIATELY TO 0. LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPEED TO BRING VEHICLE TO CURB. VEHICLE STOPPED AT INTERSECTION AND HAD TO BE TOWED. DEALER DIAGNOSED AS HPFP FAILURE.

RANDOM EXTERIOR LIGHTS WERE NON-FUNCTIONAL WITH MULTIPLE DASHBOARD NOTIFICATION ERRORS. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT A BAD FUSE HAD SHORTED OUT AND MELTED THE FUSE BOX CAUSING THE PROBLEM. FUSE BOX MUST BE REPLACED DUE TO OVERHEATING OF BAD FUSE. REPAIR PLACE SAID THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH VOLKSWAGEN AND CERTAIN MODELS HAD ALREADY BEEN ISSUED A RECALL.
