THE CAR LOST POWER ON A CITY STREET AT ABOUT 40 MPH THEN MY SON COULDN'T STEER OR BRAKE. ALL DASH LIGHTS WERE FLASHING SO WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS REALLY WRONG. TRYING TO GET OFF OF THE ROAD HE WENT INTO A DITCH. THE RADIATOR WAS BUSTED/LEAKING SO HE HAD TO GET HIS STEP FATHER TO COME GET IT. I CANNOT AFFORD THE RADIATOR TO GET IT FIXED AT THIS TIME DUE TO THE NOTE ON IT. IT HAS DONE THIS TO ME IN THE PAST. I NOTICED THE ODD WHINING SOUND IT MAKES WHEN CRANKED WAS WORSE THE DAY IT HAPPENED TO ME. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55MPH SO I STOPPED AND ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER CRANKED IT AND IT MADE IT HOME. WE HAD IT CHECKED FOR CODES AND IT SHOWED NO PROBLEM CODES. *TR
I WAS RELEASING THE BREAK WHEN I FOUND THAT RELEASING THE BRAKE CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO GO INTO A NEUTRAL STATE ALMOST HITTING THE BACK OF ANOTHER CAR AS WELL AS ROUGH AS SHIFTING CAUSING THE CAR TO BE UNSAFE
I JUST BOUGHT A USED 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA GLI A MONTH AGO, AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT JUST ILLUMINATED THIS PAST FRIDAY, ALONG WITH NO STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WORKING, AND NO HORN. I CALLED THE PLACE WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM, AND THEY PRETTY MUCH SAID OH WELL. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS IT AFFECTS THE AIRBAG. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?
WHILE DRIVING THE MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL OF TRACK AND FELL DOWN TOWARDS THE DOOR PANEL. IT CAUSED DEBRIS TO FALL INTO MY CAR ALMOST CAUSING ME TO. CRASH. I LOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. BACK IN 2018 THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL OF TRACK WHILE WAS DRIVING ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH. IT FELT AS IF I WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTING. IT WAS A VERY SCARY MOMENT. I JUST DON'T WANT MY FAMILY TO GET HURT. IT WAS REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE. PLEASE HELP
CAR STARTS TO SHAKE EPC LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT COME ON HAVE TO PULL OVER FOR IT TO STOP SHAKING
I HAVE NOTICE SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR IT HAS ISSUES WITH MILEAGE AND CORRECT HAS TO MILEAGE. I SPOKE WITH BE WHEN FIRST GETTING IT AND THE SERVICE WORKER ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE BUT DID NOT FIX IT. IT IS STILL A PROBLEM NOW. YOU CAN FILL THE TANK UP GO A MILE DOWN THE STREET AND IT WILL SAY YOU HAVE DRIVEN 30 MILES. EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK IT WILL SAY YOU ARE DRIVING AT LEAST 2 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE A VIDEO THAT BETTER PLACES THE SITUATION AS WELL. THIS VEHICLE ALSO HAVE THE CD PLAYER RUN HOT, THE LIGHTER PORTS DO NOT WORK AGAIN, AND THE ANTIFREEZE LIGHT HAS COME ON EVERY YEAR SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR. I FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG ELECTRICALLY AND ENGINE WISE.

WHENEVER DRIVING IN RAIN BREAKS GIVE OUT AND FEELS BUMPY. TODAY I WAS DRIVING TO SCHOOL AND I STARTED TO BREAK FOR A LIGHT AND ALMOST REAR-ENDED THE CAR IN FONT OF ME BECAUSE MY BREAKS WOULDN'T BREAK. I WAS GOING 55 MPH.

THE FRONT BUMPER OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A LOT AND DEEMED IT TOTALED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,000.

WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS AND FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT CALLED NEW MOTORS SUBARU (8670 PEACH ST, ERIE, PA 16509, (814) 868-4805) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
I HAVE IDENTIFIED A MATTER RELATED TO THE REAR VIEW CAM WHICH MERITS ATTENTION. I CONTACTED VW DIRECTLY AS WELL AS MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND NEITHER FELT THAT FURTHER ACTION WAS WARRANTED. SINCE THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE IT SEEMED THAT THE NEXT STEP WOULD BE CONTACTING THIS AGENCY. BECAUSE OF A GLITCH IN THE REAR CAM SOFTWARE I NARROWLY AVOIDED TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS; IN ONE THERE WAS A CLOSE CALL WITH A VEHICLE PASSING BEHIND ME AND IN ANOTHER A NEIGHBORHOOD CHILD WAS RIDING A BICYCLE DIRECTLY BEHIND THE VEHICLE. AT ISSUE IS THE FACT THAT THE REAR VIEW CAM DISPLAY WILL STOP TRANSMITTING IMAGES IF YOU BRAKE WHILE BACKING UP, TURN ON THE RADIO AND THEN RESUME BACKING UP. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION TRAVELING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS OF ABOUT 65MPH WHEN THE SUNROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED CAUSING SAFETY HAZARD, LUCKILY CAR WAS KEPT UNDER CONTROL. SUNROOF EXPLODED AND GLASS HIT THE DRIVERS BEHIND ME AS WELL AS MYSELF. WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF 1,319.00 AND WAS TOLD THAT NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WOULD BE PROVIDED BY VOLKSWAGON AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET.

I HAVE A VOLKSWAGEN JETTA GLI 2.0 TURBO. IT CURRENTLY HAS 55,000. I AM HAVING A PROBLEM ON INITIAL START WHERE BY IT RUNS ROUGH, SOMETIMES STALLS AT IDLE AND SOMETIMES STALLS ON INITIAL ACCELERATION. THIS STARTED AS A 30 DAY PROGRESS OF GETTING WORSE. NOW THE YELLOW ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND AT THE SAME TIME THE CRUISE CONTROL YELLOW LIGHT APPEARS (INTERMITTENT). COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN. WHEN TESTS WERE RUN AS A GROUP NO FAILURES REPORTED BUT WHEN RUN INDIVIDUALLY 7 FAULTS OCCURRED INCLUDING CYLINDER MISS-FIRES AND CAMSHAFT ADJ BANK 1 INTAKE ERROR
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AT 65 MPH AND IT SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN OR DISENGAGED FOR NO REASON. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT AND RETURNED TO THE SAME SPEED AND TURNED ON THE CRUISE AGAIN. THEN ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER, WHEN TRAFFIC BEGIN TO SLOW AHEAD, I TRIED HITTING THE BRAKES AND HAD ZERO BRAKING ABILITY. THE CRUISE DID NOT DISENGAGE AND I HAD TO PULL THE E BRAKE TO GET THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN CAUSING THE CAR TO FISH TAIL AND ALMOST HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER.

DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65MPH SUDDEN LOUD NOISE AND VEHICLE ABRUPTLY SLOWED TO 30MPH. DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THERE WERE EXCESSIVE METAL PARTICLES IN OIL PAN. WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BLOCK. THIS CAR IS A 2017 WITH 66,748 MILES. WE REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A USED ONE AND PAID $5306.33

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VOLKSWAGEN VAN NUYS (6115 VAN NUYS BLVD, VAN NUYS, CA 91401) WHERE IT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,400.
TAKARA RECALL- MY BRAKES JAMMED UP AND WOULD NOT STOP, WHICH RESULTED IN A VEHICLE COLLISION ON NOVEMBER 29, 2018. I TRIED PRESSING THE BRAKES, HOWEVER, THEY JUST WOULD NOT STOP. I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A CITY STREET. THEY HAD DONE THIS AFTER I GOT THEM SERVICED BEFORE AND I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD THEY WERE FINE.
HORN JUST STOPPED WORKING
HEADED EAST ON HIGHWAY 50 IN CARSON CITY, NV AFTER HAVING STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM 4TH TO 5TH GEAR. FOUND CLUTCH NOT WORKING. HAD TO STOP, TURN ENGINE OFF AND MOVE GEAR TO 3RD. STARTED ENGINE & DROVE HOME, HAVING TO TURN IGNITION OFF AND ON AT STOPS. TOWED TO VOLKS DEALERSHIP, RENO, NV ON12 NOV AND PICKED UP DEC 12 AFTER PAYING $2,700.29 REPAIR BILL. DAMAGE TO CLUTCH, FLYWHEEL, PRESSURE PLATE, BEARING - WITH REPLACEMENT OF PARTS.

A RANDOM NOTICE APPEARS ON THE DASH DISPLAY, "DRIVER ASSISTANCE BUTTON IS DISABLED". THEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS RANDOMLY ACTIVATE, DOOR LOCKS CLICK LOCKED AND UNLOCKED, AND CRUISE CONTROL DISABLES ALL WHILE DRIVING. HIGH BEAMS NO LONGER FUNCTION AND OCCASIONALLY ALL ELECTRIC DISPLAY, RADIO SOUND, AND LIGHTS GO BLACK WHILE DRIVING. YOU MUST PULL OVER, SHUT OFF THE CAR, AND WAIT APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING TO RECOVER TO NORMAL. VOLKSWAGEN SERVICE CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SHOW UP ON THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT.
UPON PLACING IN REVERSE, THE ENGINE BOGS DOWN, LOWERING THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSES A BAD VIBRATION. SHIFTING INTO ANY OTHER GEAR FROM REVERSE CAUSES A HARD JERKING MOTION AS IF IT HAS TROUBLE RELEASING FROM REVERSE GEAR. THIS IS WORSE UPON JUST STARTING THE VEHICLE, OR STARTING AND STOPPING FOR SEVERAL TRIPS IN ONE DAY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY CITY STREET, GOING ABOUT 30 MPH. I NOTICED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS STOPPED FROM 100 FEET BACK AND I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES. MY CAR DID NOT STOP, IT DID NOT SLOW DOWN AT ALL. THE WEATHER WAS WARM, THE ROAD WAS DRY AND IT WAS LIKE TRYING TO STOP ON AN ICY ROAD AND I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY EITHER. THE OTHER CAR HAD MINIMAL DAMAGE TO HER BACK BUMPER. SHE WAS INJURED, I HAD MINOR WHIPLASH.
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHILE DRIVING CAR, LOCKED FOR 40 SECONDS WHILE TURNING TO RIGHT.
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD I REALIZED DEAD ENDED, I ATTEMPTED TO APPLY MY BRAKES AT WHICH TIME THEY DID NOT WORK, I LOOKED TO ENSURE NOTHING WAS UNDER IT AND WHEN I SEEN THERE WAS NOTHING ATTEMPTED TO APPLY AGAIN, UNFORTUNATELY THEY DID NOT WORK AGAIN. I ENDED UP CRASHING INTO A BARRIER AND TOTALED THE VEHIUCLE AND SUSTAIN INJURIES BECAUSE OF THE DEFECT.

VEHICLE CONSISTENTLY PULLING TO RIGHT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED ON ANY SURFACE STREET.. INCREASES AT ACCELERATION. ALIGNED X 4 IN 2018, TIRES BALANCED, ROTATED, STILL SAME PULL. THERE SOLUTION IS ALIGNING VEHICLE OUT OF SPECS TO COMPENSATE FOR RIGHT PULL. WHEN VEHICLE NEEDS FUTURE ALIGNMENT, MY CONCERN IS VEHICLE WILL START TO PULL AGAIN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SHOULD INSPECT FRONT WHEEL DRIVE COMPONENTS. VEHICLE STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND I AM PAYING FOR PORTIONS OF UNSUCCESSFUL "REPAIRS," AND ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR. FIRST DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALTERED DATE I BROUGHT VEHICLE IN AS IT IS DIFFERENT FROM DATE LISTED ON LOANER VEHICLE CONTRACT. SAME DEALERSHIP, AS CONFIRMED BUY SECOND DEALERSHIP, RETURNED MY VEHICLE AS "REPAIRED" WITH OUT OF ALIGNMENT PRINTOUT AND CLEARLY NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER DEALERSHIP HAS, OR IS, TAKING THE TIME TO PROPERLY INSPECT VEHICLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF CONSISTENT RIGHT PULL.
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 65-75MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WITH 1/4 TO 1/2 FULL TANK OF GAS, MY CAR BEGAN TO STUTTER/HESITATE. IMMEDIATELY THE "EPC" LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE CHECK ENGINE SYMBOL, BLINKING. ALL POWER TO THE ACCELERATOR CEASED. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER ON EACH INSTANCE, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED 2-5 MINUTES. AFTER WAITING, I SUCCESSFULLY RE-STARTED THE CAR EACH TIME, WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINING ON. AFTER THE FIRST INSTANCE, I DROVE <40MPH TO A VOLKSWAGEN DEALER AND LEFT MY CAR TO BE INSPECTED. THE CONCLUSION WAS, "NOT ENOUGH GASOLINE", DESPITE THE TANK READING 1/4 FULL. AFTER THAT INSTANCE, I MADE A POINT TO NEVER LET THE GAS FALL BELOW 1/2 FULL. ON THE TWO OTHER OCCASIONS OF HESITATION/LOSS OF POWER, THE TANK FELL BETWEEN 1/4 AND 1/2 FULL. AFTER PULLING OVER, TURNING THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTING THE CAR, I IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO A GAS STATION AND FILLED UP TO A FULL TANK WITHOUT BRINGING IN FOR INSPECTION. KEEPING THE GAS TANK ABOVE 1/2 FULL, I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE. WHEN THE GAS FALLS BELOW 1/2 A TANK, IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NEW AT 19,000 MILES THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM HAS FAILED WHICH ALSO CONTROLS THE AUTONOMOUS BRAKING, THE EXTRA 2500 DOLLARS FOR THIS SYSTEM IS USELESS, AND WILL NOT HOLD A RE-CALIBRATION.

DEALERSHIPS DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AND DOCUMENTED AS "TORQUE STEER; A DESIGN CHARACTERIST OF TRANSVERSE MOUNTED ENGINE AND TRANS AXLE." AFTER CONDUCTING MY OWN RESEARCH, I DETERMINED "TORQUE STEER" IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. FROM THE WORDS OF A CERTIFIED MECHANIC, "TORQUE STEER IS DUE TO THE MALFUNCTION OF ONE OR MORE SPRINGS LOCATED IN THE TRANS AXEL AND MAY LEAD TO A SEVER SAFETY PROBLEM AS IT GETS WORSE." AT ONE DEALERSHIP, WHILE WAITING FOR MY CAR, I DROVE, WITH THE MECHANIC, A LIKE KIND 2016 JETTA. IT PULLED TO THE RIGHT ALL THE TIME. I WAS TOLD BY ONE OF MY BUSSINESS CLIENTS HER 2014 TURBO JETTA PULLED TO THE RIGHT ALL THE TIME. IN NOVEMBER OF 2018, I RETAINED A "LEMON LAW" ATTORNEY. THE ATTORNEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE CASE UNTIL THEIR FIRM CONCLUDED THERE WAS SUFFICIANT DOCUMENTATION TO SUPPORT THE PROBLEM. THEY TOOK THE CASE AND THE OUTCOME IS STILL PENDING. AFTER 6+ MONTHS, I HAVE NOW CONCLUDED MY CAR IS NOT A "LEMON" AND BELIEVE ALL LIKE KIND JETTA'S WILL EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE NHTSA SHOULD CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE IF THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED. MY VEHICLE PULLS UPON ACCELERATION ON ANY CITY STREET, FREEWAY OR HIGHWAY 100%.

AS I DROVE HOME ONE NIGHT, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS SHOWING EMPTY WHEN I KNEW THAT THE TANK WAS HALF FULL. THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR A REMOTE, RURAL DRIVER WHO NEEDS TO KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS LEFT IN THE TANK. NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY WAS PRESENT FOR THIS OCCURRENCE. AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON THE GAUGE WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I WILL BE MONITORING CLOSELY FROM HERE ON OUT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN 17V070000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE VEHICLES VIN WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS TOLD TO CONTACT THE NHTSA TO GET THEIR VIN ADDED TO THE CAMPAIGN. THE DRIVER THAT OPERATED THE VEHICLE SUFFERED FROM A HEAD INJURY NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.
