BOUGHT 2019 JETTA IN SEPT. 2018. JETTA SE, HABANERO ORANGE. CURRENTLY HAS 39,500 MILES ON IT. HAD BEEN COMPLAINING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT EVER SINCE MY FIRST OIL CHANGE (ROUGHLY 5000 MILES). I CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 5000, AND EVERY TIME I ASKED ABOUT IT, THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. NO RECALL. HOWEVER, AT 39,000 MILES MY CAR BEGAN "HARD-SHIFTING" AND WOULD GET STUCK/LOCKED IN GEAR AT SLOW TRAFFIC SPEEDS (20-40MPH). IT WOULD THEN SLAM INTO GEAR, AND I WOULD CONTINUE ON MY WAY. TOOK THE CAR INTO VOLKSWAGEN, REQUESTED TO SEE THE FOREMAN TO REPLICATE MY ISSUE. TALKED TO VW CUSTOMER CARE IN ORDER TO OPEN A CASE. REPLICATED THE ISSUE WITH THE FOREMAN, AND THEY TOOK MY CAR FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR. THEY FOUND AS FOLLOWS: - BURNT TRANSMISSION FLUID - METAL SHAVINGS IN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID - METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL - METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL COOLER. CAR FELT VERY UNSAFE FOR REGULAR USE. CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE CORRECTLY. BEING STUCK IN GEAR REQUIRES ME TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER DURING FREEWAY DRIVING. WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE CORRECTLY. HAPPENED DURING SLOW SPEEDS, ROUGHLY 25-40MPH, ALSO, WHILE SPEEDING UP TO ROUGHLY 60MPH.
FIRSTLY, THERE IS SOME GRINDING NOISE THAT COMES FROM THE POWERTRAIN/ ENGINE WHEN THE CAR SPEED INCREASES FROM 24-35MPH. THIS NOISE IS VERY SCARY AS IF SOME METAL PIECES ARE BEING SCRAPED TOGETHER. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER, HE INFORMED ME THAT THIS NORMAL WHICH DEFINITELY ISN'T. SECONDLY, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR RATTLES WHEN LISTEN TO BASS HEAVY MUSIC. WHEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT IS THE WAY HOW THE CAR DOOR WAS BEING BUILT. BUT THIS ISN'T SOME REASON THAT THEY WOULD GIVE FOR A PERSON BUYING A BRAND NEW CAR. BOTH THE ISSUES WHERE HAPPENING SINCE THE FIRST WEEK AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR.
WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, AND THE AISIN TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING, THE VEHICLE MAKES A SCRAPING OR GRINDING NOISE FROM THE POWERTRAIN (TRANSMISSION) AND IT ALSO HESITATES WHEN STOPPING AND TAKING OFF AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN.
I JUST PURCHASED A 2019 JETTA R LINE AND SINCE DAY ONE I HAVE A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSFER CASE OR THE TRANSMISSION. IT'S ALWAYS THERE AT AROUND 50KM/PER HOUR FOR ABOUT 2 SEC. LIKE MANY OTHERS SAID IT DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT FOR ME. I HOPE VW WILL TAKE ACTION AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. ON TOP OF THAT I LOST ALL MY RADIO PRESETS AND THE SCREEN HAS STARTED TO FREEZE. I ALSO NOTICE A KNOCKING SOUND IN THE REAR SUSPENSION OVER NORMAL BUMP
THE EIGHT SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MAKES A LOUD GRINDING NOISE IN THE MID GEAR RANGE WHEN UNDER ANY SORT OF LOAD. OCCASIONALLY THIS NOISE PREVENTS A PROPER DOWNSHIFT UPHILL, PREVENTING THE PROPER AMOUNT OF POWER TO BE DISTRIBUTED, AND AS A RESULT THE CAR SLOWS. THE LACK OF POWER, AS A RESULT OF A DELAYED DOWNSHIFT AND GRINDING OF THE TRANSMISSION, CAN ALSO BE NOTED WHEN TRYING TO OVERTAKE ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE THROTTLE IS DEPRESSED TO SPEED UP, THE TRANSMISSION GRINDS AND PRODUCES POWER ONLY AFTER A DELAY. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN TRAFFIC IS CLOSELY FOLLOWING BEHIND MY VEHICLE. IT HAPPENS IN ALL DRIVING MODES (NORMAL, SPORT, ECO, CUSTOM). THE NOISE IS VERY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER. VW HAS STATED THIS IS A NORMAL NOISE, AND OFFERS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. THE NOISE BEGAN WITH ONLY 150 MILES ON THE CAR, AND HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE EVER SINCE. PLEASE CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS DEFECT.
I BOUGHT MY NEW 2019 JETTA 2 DAYS AGO. IT HAD ONLY 111 MILES ON IT. THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED IT, I BEGAN TO NOTICE A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN 15 TO 30 MPH. IT SOUNDS LIKE GEARS GRINDING ON A MANUAL TRANSMISSION WHEN THE CLUTCH ISN'T FULLY ENGAGED. I ALSO NOTICED THE RPM'S JUMPING UP ERRATICALLY WHEN I'M HEARING THE NOISE. I CONTACTED EAST COAST VOLKWSGON, THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE WITH WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE COMPLAINT. I AM TAKING IT IN TOMORROW MORNING TO HAVE IT CHECKED. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A NEW CAR ALREADY HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE REPRESENTATIVE'S RESPONSE PROMPTED ME TO RESEARCH THIS ISSUE AND I SEE THAT THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE COMMON FOR THIS MODEL.
CAR MAKES GRINDING NOISE WHEN GOING BETWEEN 20-40MPH, EVERY CAR I TEST DROVE MADE THIS NOISE SO I ASSUMED IT WAS NORMAL. NOT AS LOUD IN THE SPORT MODE BUT NOTICABLE IN ECO MODE MORE. MY CAR HAS 4000 MILES ON IT. VW SAYS IT IS A NORMAL SOUND. ALSO BREAKS SQUEAL VERY LOUDLY WHEN BACKING UP, AGAIN THEY SAY NORMAL.
I PREVIOUSLY FILED A COMPLAINT, COMPLAINT NUMBER 11306864, WITH REFERENCE TO MY 2019 VOLKSWAGEN GTI AUTOBAHN, MANUAL TRANSMISSION, PURCHASED AS NEW ON JANUARY 17, 2020, WITH REFERENCE TO LOW-SPEED ENGINE STALLING. I HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS REPORTED TO THE NHTSA AS REPAIRED BY VW SERVICE ACTION CODE 24 FD, PUBLISHED ON DECEMBER 6, 2019. HOWEVER, LOW SPEED STALLING INTERMITTENTLY CONTINUES AS I HAVE EXPERIENCED THREE FURTHER INSTANCES OF IT OVER THE LAST TEN DAYS SINCE I REPORTED THIS TROUBLESOME BEHAVIOR. THE PASSENGER SIDE INDOOR, DOOR HANDLE IS A STICKER AND NOT AN ACTUAL CHROME HANDLE. THE STICKER HAS PEELED OFF THE BOTTOM, CREATING SHARP EDGES. I HAVE CUT MY FINGERS WHEN OPENING THE DOOR TWICE NOW. THE HANDLES ALL SHOULD BE REPLACED.
CARS FRONT ASSIST WOULD ALARM WHILE DRIVING ON ROAD LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO HIT SOMETHING THEN IT STARTED SAYING FRONT ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. SENSORS ARE MALFUNCTIONING AND VW IS NOT COVERING THE COST TO FIX AND TELLING CAR OWNERS TO TURN OFF FRONT ASSIST WHEN TURNING CAR ON. CAUSES CAR TO BRAKE OUT OF NOWHERE FOR NO REASON
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ACCELERATING IN EITHER NORMAL OR ECO MODE, WHEN IT APPROACHED 28MPH AND SHIFTS GEARS THE ENGINE MAKES A SCRAPING/GRINDING SOUND. THIS HAPPENS CONSISTENTLY IN THE SAME DRIVING SESSION WHEN ACCELERATING WITH THIS GEAR CHANGE. THIS WILL HAPPEN ON HIGHWAYS UNDER RAPID ACCELERATION OR ON LOCAL STREETS UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION. THIS IS A GREAT CAUSE FOR CONCERN AS THE SOUND COULD DISTRACT THE DRIVER AND REPRESENT DAMAGE OVERTIME TO THE ENGINE.

SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY NEW 2019 VW JETTA I HEARD A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE BETWEEN 20 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR FROM A STOP. I DO NOT HEAR IT ONCE THE CAR IS GOING. AFTER ONLY 1200 MILES IT IS ALSO LOW ON OIL. IT IS NOT EVEN DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE YET.CAR WAS PURCHASED DECEMBER 29TH OF 2019.
THE TRANSMISSION MAKES A HORRIBLE NOISE FROM 25MPH TO UPWARDS OF 60MPH. THE DEALER HAS NOT ROAD TESTED, BUT IMMEDIATELY HANDED ME A TECH TIP FROM VW CORPORATE THAT SAYS THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION. TAKING IT IN AGAIN FOR ANOTHER WARRANTY REPAIR THIS WEEKEND, BUT THIS DOES NOT ACT LIKE OR SOUND LIME NORMAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FUNCTION.
PREMATURE CLUTCH FAILURE. THE JETTA ONLY HAS 6,812 MILES ON IT. CLUTCH COMPLETELY FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.
WHEN PUTTING MY CAR IN REVERSE AND BACKING OUT OF A SPOT BRAKES MAKE A HIGH PITCH RINGING. ALSO, WHEN PARKED MUFFLER/ TAIL PIPE ON THE LEFT SIDE, IT GURGLES AS IF WATER IS BOILING IN IT. CAR IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD.
WE BOUGHT THIS CAR A MONTH AGO WE HAVE TRANSMISSION NOISE COMING FROM THE TORQUE CONVERTER. TWICE I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO PROBLEM. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH VW. I BELEIVE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE AISUN 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION. THIS IS ALWAYS HAPPENING WITH 800 TO 1800 RPM. A DISCONCERTING GRINDING SCRAPING TORQUE CONVERTER WHILE DRIVING IN ECO ,DRIVE, OR SPORT ALL MODES MAKE NOISE. I WPOLD EITHER LIKE THE CAR FIXED OR REPLACED WITH NON DEFECTIVE PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE HAS A HIGH PITCHED WHINE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA UNDER ACCELERATION. DEALER CAN NOT FIND ISSUE AND FIX. VW HAS SENT ENGINEER OUT TWICE SO FAR.
METAL PLATES IN THE ROAD TRIGGER THE THE CAR'S FRONT-ASSIST SENSOR TO ACTIVATE THE AUTONOMOUS EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE, DESPITE THE ABSENCE OF ANY OBSTRUCTION. THE RESULT IS A JARRING DECELERATION FROM ~20MPH TO A COMPLETE STOP IN A MATTER OF FEET: EFFECTIVELY MINOR ACCIDENT. THERE IS NO ADVANCED WARNING, ONLY A SIMULTANEOUS BUZZER AND DASHBOARD SIGNAL. IT POSES A SIGNIFICANT RISK TO ALL VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, ESPECIALLY PASSENGERS WHO ARE UNAWARE OF THE HAZARD OR OTHERWISE UNABLE TO PREPARE THEMSELVES (E.G. INFANTS). THIS PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT, DISRUPTIVE, AND DANGEROUS FOR THE VEHICLE'S OCCUPANTS AS WELL AS ANY TRAILING VEHICLES THAT MAY CONSEQUENTLY CRASH INTO THE UNEXPECTEDLY HALTED VEHICLE. VOLKSWAGEN CLAIMS THAT THIS IS "EXPECTED BEHAVIOR" OF THE SENSOR, AS THE VEHICLE MANUAL WARNS OF "UNWANTED" BEHAVIOR WHEN "THERE ARE ...METAL PLATES IN THE ROAD." NEVERTHELESS, WHILE IT MAY BE "EXPECTED," IT IS STILL PATENTLY UNSAFE. VOLKSWAGEN'S SUGGESTED RESOLUTION IS TO PERMANENTLY DISENGAGE THE FRONT-ASSIST SAFETY FEATURE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE IT EXPOSES THE VEHICLE'S OCCUPANTS TO OTHER SAFETY HAZARDS THAT MIGHT OTHERWISE BE AVOIDED WITH AN ENGAGED FRONT-ASSIST SYSTEM. FURTHERMORE, THE SYSTEM MUST BE DISENGAGED ANEW ON EACH VEHICLE RESTART, WHICH LEAVES ROOM FOR POTENTIAL OPERATOR OVERSIGHT. I EXPERIENCED THIS UNSAFE BEHAVIOR NEARLY DAILY FOR ALMOST 18 MONTHS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, AND I HAVE DOCUMENTED IT 3 TIMES WITH TIMESTAMPED VIDEOS. AS THIS SITE DOES NOT PERMIT VIDEO FILES TO BE UPLOADED, I CAN PROVIDE THOSE UPON REQUEST. A BBB AUTO LINE CASE WAS OPENED AGAIN VOLKSWAGEN. VEHICLE REPURCHASE WAS DENIED BASED ON VOLKSWAGEN'S WARNING OF "UNWANTED" BEHAVIOR IN THE VEHICLE MANUAL. NEVERTHELESS, THE DECISION AFFIRMED THAT "THE FRONT ASSIST ISSUE SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRS THE USE, VALUE AND SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE."
ON 9/6/2019 I BOUGHT 2019 VW JETTA 1.4 T R-LINE TSI 16 VALVE DOHC TURBO 4 CYLINDER W/DIRECT FUEL INJECTION. HAD IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST WEEK COMPLAINING ABOUT THE GRINDING AND GROWLING NOISES UNDER 40 MPH RANGE WHILE DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC. I WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER DEALERSHIP IT IS NORMAL FOR 8 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS. ALSO SAID THE ONLY WAY STOP THE NOISE IS TO DRIVE IT IN SPORT MOD , NOT GOOD WITH GAS CONSUPTION BUT YOU WON'T HEAR IT. WHILE MAKING A U TURN AND COMING OUT OF A DRIVE WAY INTO CITY TRAFFIC, IT HAS UNPREDICTABLE ACCELERATION WHICH REALLY SHOCKED ME. I LEFT RUBBER AND THE WHEELS MADE A LOUD SOUND ON THE PAVEMENT. IT LARCHED TWICE AND I DO NOT TRUST THIS CAR.
ELECTRICAL ISSUES. CAR WON'T LOCK AND I HAVE A SAFETY WARNING STATING ELECTRICAL FAULT.
THE VEHICLE IS A 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT WHEN COMING TO A STOP. NOT USER ERROR, SINCE THE STALLING HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL - COASTING TO A STOP. STALL OUT IS VERY SOFT - AKIN TO JUST SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE. THIS HAPPENS NEARLY EVERY STOP AFTER RUNNING THE CAR FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES. THIS PHENOMENON IS REPEATABLE AND EXTREMELY UNSAFE.
THE BRAKES AFTER SITTING NO MATTER LENGTH MAKE HORRIBLE NOISE, AND ARE VERY STIFF. IT CAN BE FIVE MINUTES OR OVER NIGHT. THIS IS NOT SAFE. I TOLD THE DEALER WITHIN DAYS OF PURCHASING.
TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A CHECK UP AND TOLD THEM THAT THE CAR MAKES A HIGH PITCH SQUEAL EVERY TIME I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND I BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. IT ALSO SOUNDS LIKE WHEN I BACK OUT THE BRAKES ARE GRINDING. THIS CAR IS LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS OLD AND HAS LESS THAN 5K MILES AND IM TOLD THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT IS HAVING A PROBLEM AND WITH VW CURRENT "BRAND ISSUES" AND "LACK OF TRUST" I WOULD THINK THEY WOULD WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. EVEN THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ARE GETTING SEVERAL CARS A DAY WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND THAT VW OF AMERICA SAYS ITS NORMAL..... NOT REALLY SURE HOW THAT IS NORMAL IF EVERYONE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS.
SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED AND SHATTERED INTO PIECES WHILE MOVING.
Low level oil It has problem with oil Vw cannot fixes
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, CAR IN MOTION, GOING STRAIGHT, NOT TURNING, I HEAR A LOUD POP. THE SOUND WAS SIMILAR TO A GUN SHOT. IN FACT, IT WAS SO LOUD IT STARTLED ME, CAUSING ME TO SWERVE TO THE LEFT, ALMOST HITTING THE CAR IN THE LANE TO THE LEFT OF ME. I FRANTICALLY LOOKED AROUND THE OUSTSIDE OF MY CAR, AND NOTICED THE SOUND OF WIND ABOVE MY HEAD WAS LOUD AND THEN SAW BROKEN GLASS ALL OVER THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE SUNROOF HAD BROKE, AND I KNOW FOR SURE IT WAS NO ROCK OR OUTSIDE CAUSE. IT WAS STILL DAYTIME, AND I NEVER SAW ANYTHING FLY AT ME. THERE WAS NOT AN OVERPASS OR BRIDGE TO DRIVE UNDER FOR ABOUT 8 MILES. SO, I KNOW NOTHING HAD DROPPED ONTO AND THREW THE WINDOW. CURIOUS ABOUT THIS, I LOOK UP ONLINE 'DEFECTIVE BROKEN SUNROOF VW JETTA 19' AND FIND MULTIPLE STORIES OF PEOPLE HAVING SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. I GUESS THIS IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN WITH A LOT OF MAKES AND MODELS OF CARS, BECAUSE THE SUNROOF IS A COMMON FEATURE PUT IN CARS NOWADAYS AND THEY ARE LARGER IN SIZE. ALSO, I FOUND OUT VW IS IN COURT NOW FOR OLDER MODELS OF THEIR CARS HAVING DEFECTIVE SUNROOF, AND THEY KNOW THEY WERE POORLY DESIGNED BUT STILL PUT THEM IN AND SOLD THEM WITH NO DISCLOSURE TO THW CUSTOMER OF THE POOR QUALITY SUNROOF. THIS HAPPENED 12/29/19, AND AS OF NOW THE DEALERSHIP WONT FIX IT. VW WONT FIX AND CLAIM THAT THEIR ENGINEERS ARE SAYING THE WINDOW BROKE FROM THE OUTSIDE, LIKE FROM A ROCK. THESE ENGINEERS ARE CONCLUDING THIS BY LOOKING AT PICTURES. THEY ARE NOT INVESTIGATING MY CAR IN PERSON BUT BY PICTURES SENT TO THEM. IF ONE LOOKS AT THE SUNROOF OF MY CAR IN PERSON YOU CAN SEE THAT THE GLASS HAS BROKEN UP AND OUT WARD TOWARDS THE SKY NOT DOWNWARD TOWARDS THE SEATS, WHICH IS WHAT A ROCK WOULD DO. THEY WANT ME TO CALL MY INSURANCE AND HAVE THEM DEAL WITH IT. THIS IS FRUSTRATING AND NOT RIGHT OF VW. I ALMOST WRECKED, SO THIS SURELY COULD CAUSE A DEATH OR SOMEONE GETTING HURT

2019 JETTA S. 8SPD AUTO. GRINDING NOISE FROM 4-6TH GEAR. 15-25 MPH. LACK OF POWER AND NOT FEELING COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR UNDER HEAVY ACCELERATION OR LOAD.

I RECENTLY STARTED A LEASE FOR A 2019 JETTA SE. I STARTED TO NOTICE A STRANGE SOUND LIKE SCRAPPING AND GRINDING AS THE CAR ACCELERATED AND PARTICULARLY AROUND THE 20-30 MPH MARK. THE VW DEALERSHIP I WENT TO GAVE NO GOOD RESOLUTION AND INFORMED ME THAT THE NOISE WAS 'NORMAL' OF THIS TRANSMISSION. A NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION OF A NEW CAR SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN AS 'NORMAL'. I HAVE ENJOYED DRIVING THE 2017 MODEL THE LAST 3 PRIOR YEARS AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS RESPONSE AND THE WAY THE VEHICLE IS FUNCTIONING. I HOPE VW DOES THE RIGHT THING WITH EITHER A PROPER FIX OR A RECALL. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE LONGEVITY OF THIS ISSUE AND WHAT IT MEANS SAFETY WISE NOW AND DOWN THE LINE.

ON DEC 14, 2019 I PURCHASED A NEW 2019 VW JETTA SEL FROM A VW DEALERSHIP. THE CAR HAD ONLY 7 MILES ON IT. THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED IT, I NOTICED A CONSISTENT GRINDING, GROWLING OR RUBBING NOISE WHEN TRAVELING AT LOWER SPEEDS. THE CAR SEEMS SLOW, LIKE IT'S NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. IT HAPPENS ALL DAY LONG, EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT & I WAS TOLD THIS IS A NORMAL SOUND. IT DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT TO ME, I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR ON THE FREEWAY. BRAND NEW CAR! THEN I GOT ON THE INTERNET TODAY ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH 2019 VW JETTAS - MAYBE THE TRANSMISSION OR THE TORQUE CONVERTER.
MY CAR SHUTS ITSELF OFF RANDOMLY. AT STOP LIGHTS, SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY, IN THE CAR PICK UP LINE AT SCHOOL ETC. I ASKED THE DEALER TO LOOK INTO THIS. AT TIMES IT WILL TELL ME THE CAR HAS TO SHUT OFF TO KEEP THE BATTERY FROM ANY DAMAGE. THE DEALER CLAIMS IT'S NORMAL BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE ONLINE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. I DON'T THINK IT'S NORMAL.
VEHICLE PROXIMITY SENSORS BEGAN TO FLASH, DESPITE BEING THE ONLY CAR IN A FREEWAY ENTRY LANE. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME, OR IN BACK OF ME, BUT MY VEHICLE'S SENSORS BEGAN TO FLASH AND THE CAR BEGAN TO BREAK AS IF PREPARING FOR A COLLISION. CAR NEVER STOPPED COMPLETELY, SINCE MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS. SENSORS CONTINUED TO FLASH ON DASHBOARD FOR A MINUTE. I'M NOT SURE OF WHAT CAUSES THIS, PERHAPS THE EQUIPPED VEHICLE SOFTWARE ISN'T CLEAR OF BUGS, OR SENSORS COULD HAVE BEEN MANIPULATED VIA BLUETOOTH CONNECTION.
VEHICLE REAR-ENDED ON A BUSY DAY BETWEEN 5:00 PM TO 6:00 PM ON A THURSDAY. ALL THE AIR-BAGS IN THE CAR DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR-BAG STAYED INFLATED FOR A LONG TIME, AND THE RIGHT SIDE AIR-BAG ALSO DID NOT DEFLATE. INFLATED AIR-BAG HELD THE DRIVER SO TIGHT, AND THE DRIVER COULD NOT EXIT OUT OF THE ACCIDENT CAR. SIMULTANEOUSLY SEAT ALSO HELD THE DRIVER SO TIGHT. THE DRIVER SUFFERED A SIGNIFICANT INJURY FRACTURING HIS STERNUM. THE CAR WAS LESS THAN 40 MPH AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER DOWNLOADED THE ELECTRONIC DATA RECORD FROM THE CAR AND NEVER SHARED IT WITH THE DRIVER DESPITE THE WRITTEN REQUEST. DRIVER FEELS BRAKE MAY HAVE FAILED. DRIVER HAS TO SLIDE OUT OF THE CAR AS THE SIDE AIR BAG STAYED INFLATED. PICTURE ATTACHED SHOWS AIR-BAG STAYING INFLATED EVEN AFTER 10-25 MINS AND STARTED TO GO DOWN SLOWLY.
I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION 2019 JETTA GLI. BECAUSE I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, I ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WHENEVER I PARK. IF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS ON FOR A PERIOD OF 3 OR MORE HOURS, IT WILL NOT DISENGAGE WHEN I ATTEMPT TO DO SO WITH THE ELECTRONIC BUTTON. THE ELECTRONIC BUTTON SHOWS IT IS OFF, BUT THE BRAKES ARE STILL ENGAGED. I HAVE TO TRY TO MOVE THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO "BREAK" THE PADS AWAY. IT PRODUCES A VERY VIOLENT "BOOM" FROM THE BRAKES AS THEY PULL AWAY. THE DEALER SAYS THIS IS "NORMAL" BECAUSE CONDENSATION STICKS THE PADS TO THE CALIPERS (OR WHATEVER, I DON'T KNOW THE TERMS), BUT IT SEEMS VERY VIOLENT TO ME AND FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE BEING COMPROMISED EVERY TIME I USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE DEALER WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT THIS.
I SUSPECT THAT MY 2019 VW JETTA COMPUTER SYSTEM/CAR WAS HACKED/DRIVEN REMOTELY ON 12/3/2019 THAT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT (PHOTOS ATTACHED) THAT LED TO MY CAR BEING A TOTAL LOSS. I SUSTAINED INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE LOCAL ER FROM THE ACCIDENT. THIS CASE IS STILL INVOLVED IN COURT PROCEEDINGS AS OF TODAY. I WAS DRIVING HOME AND MY CAR SPEED ACCELERATED WITHOUT ME BEING ON THE GAS AND MY BREAKS WERE NOT WORKING. WITHOUT TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL I DROVE OFF TO THE RIGHT HITTING A PARKED CAR. THE POLICE REPORT INDICATED THAT AFTER IMPACT WITH PARKED CAR #1, I ROLLED BACK 55 FEET AND HIT ANOTHER PARKED CAR ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STREET. I DID NOT THINK ANY OF THIS WAS POSSIBLE UNTIL I WAS READING ABOUT CAR HACKING AND CARS BEING DRIVEN REMOTELY. I ALSO DID NOT THINK THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE WITH THE 'IMPACT SAFETY FEATURES' ON A VW JETTA, I COULD POSSIBLY ROLL BACKWARD AFTER THE IMPACT OF PARKED CAR #1? I AM LOOKING TO HAVE THIS ISSUE INVESTIGATED. I AM ALSO SENDING INFORMATION TO THE FBI INTERNET CRIME COMPLAINT CENTER.

I LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND OUT A LOT OF PEOPLE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT IT SO I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, TOLD THEM ABOUT THE NOISE, 9 HOURS LATER I RECEIVE A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO TELL ME IT WAS NORMAL. THAT THE NOISE WAS PART OF THE TURBO THEY CALLED IT 'TURBOCHARGED'. I'M NO SCIENTIST BUT I KNOW WHAT A TURBO SOUNDS LIKE AND THEY DON'T SOUND LIKE THAT. I JUST WANT THIS PROBLEM FIXED OR A NEW CAR BECAUSE I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT GOING TO CAUSE BIGGER PROBLEM THAT MIGHT NOT BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.
I HAVE THE 2019 JETTA SEL PREMIUM THAT INCLUDES THE BEATS AUDIO SYSTEM UPGRADE. THE SPEAKERS RATTLE AND SOUND BLOWN STARTING AT JUST BELOW 50% VOLUME. I AM AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE INSPECTING THE ISSUE. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS ON PUBLIC FORUMS. IT SEEMS AS IF THE STEREO HEAD UNIT IS TOO POWERFUL FOR THE SPEAKERS OR IS IMPROPERLY ALLOCATING POWER TO THE SPEAKERS INSTEAD OF THE SUBWOOFER. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT RIGHT WHATEVER THE ISSUE IS. THIS OCCURS ON FM RADIO, SATELLITE RADIO OR IPHONE APPLE MUSIC VIA CARPLAY.

I'M SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT VW IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THEY THINK IT'S THE TURBO BUT THERE IS NO FIX IS AVAILABLE YET. IT SOUNDS LIKE LOOSE/BAD BEARINGS OR A BAD PULLEY RATTLING. IT HAPPENS WHEN IT SHIFTS THROUGH THE GEARS WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A STANDSTILL UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION AND AT A LOW RPM. IT OCCURS EVERY TIME BETWEEN 20-35 MPH. IT IS EASY TO REPLICATE.
REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLE DISAPPEARS INTO SEAT WHEN TRYING TO ATTACH. I HAD CAR AT DEALER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY LOOKED AT 3 OTHER JETTA'S OF THE SAME YEAR AND THE SAME HAPPENED ON ALL.
VEHICLE WILL STALL AT TIMES WHEN COMING TO COMPLETE STOP, OR WHEN COASTING IN NEUTRAL, WITH CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED. VW DEALER RESET ECU ADAPTATIONS. ISSUE STILL REMAINS.

WHEN GRABBING THINGS FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE THROUGH AN OPEN WINDOW, PUSHING YOUR BODY AGAINST THE DOOR WITH KEYS IN A POCKET MAY COST THE VEHICLE TO THINK THAT YOU ARE PUSHING ON THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON AND HENCE CLOSING THE WINDOWS WHEN YOU ARE RETRIEVING THINGS INSIDE AND THE WINDOWS TAKE TOO LONG OF A TIME TO SENSE THAT SOMETHING IS BLOCKING THE WINDOWS AND HURT WHOEVER IS RETRIEVING ITEMS.
