THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
GETTING CEL LIGHT FOR P202B WHICH SHOULD BE COVER UNDER EMISSION WARRANTY SINCE IT NEEDS TO HEAT BLU DEF FLUID TO COMPLY WITH EPA STANDARD AND MY LOCAL COUNTY EMISSION TEST, VOLKSWAGEN STATES THAT IT IS NOT PART OF EMISSION SYSTEM AND WANTS AROUND A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THESE HEATERS AND HAVE UP DATED PART NUMBER TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WITH THERE EMISSION SCANDAL STILL IN PROGRESS. THESE HEATERS NEED TO FALL UNDER EMISSION WARRENTY.
MY LEASE IS ENDING IN MAY 2017. I HAVE PAID INTO THIS CAR FOR FOUR YEARS AND PLANNED TO BUY THE RESIDUARY. I SPOKE WITH THE LOCAL VW DEALERSHIP AND THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING HERE IN CHARLESTON, SC. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE I AM IN A HOT AND HUMID REGION AND IT MAKES MY AIRBAG EVEN MORE OF A DANGER!! I SPOKE WITH VW CREDIT AND THEY SAY THEY CAN SELL ME THE RESIDUARY BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE A CREDIT OR ANYTHING ELSE. I WILL JUST NEED TO DRIVE THE DEFECTIVE CAR. I SPOKE WITH VW'S NATIONAL CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY JUST FED THE BS THAT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY ARE FOLLOWING THE RULES. THEY WILL NOT ACT TO PROTECT CONSUMERS UNLESS FORCED THROUGH A LAWSUIT OR FORCED BY A REGULATORY AGENCY LIKE THE NHTSA. IT IS NEGLIGENT AND IRRESPONSIBLE OF VW TO PLACE BLAME ON EVERY BUT THEMSELVES. MY PARTNER AND I HAVE BEEN WITH VW FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS BUT UNLESS VW MAKES THIS RIGHT AND EITHER PROVIDES A SAFER CAR, FIXES THE AIRBAG, OR PROVIDES SOME SORT OF CREDIT OR INCENTIVE TO ME, VW WILL LOSE A CUSTOMER. I WILL GIVE MY MONEY TO ANOTHER CAR DEALERSHIP.
THE VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL FROM VW IN JAN 2016 AT 42000 MILES AND FAILED AGAIN AT AROUND 46000 MILES, LEAVING MY CAR WITHOUT DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS. IT IS QUITE UNSAFE TO HAVE SUCH A CRUCIAL SAFETY PART TO FAIL SO REGULARLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY. I BELIEVED THAT THE RECALLED CLOCK SPRING THAT GOT INSTALLED IN MY CAR IS ALSO DEFECTIVE.
THE NITROSOXIDE SENSOR (NOX) HAS FAILED AGAIN. THE FIRST ONE FAILED AFTER A YEAR OF OWNERSHIP, BUT AT 53K MILES - BEYOND WARRANTEE MILEAGE. I COMPLAINED THAT THE "SENSOR" IS ACTUALLY A MODULE BECAUSE IT HAS COMPUTER COMPONENTS AND NEEDS TO BE PROGRAMED AND THEREFORE FALLS WITHIN THE 80K MILE FEDERAL EMISSION STANDARD. ALSO, A PART SHOULD NOT FAIL AFTER I YEAR OF USE AND LOW MILEAGE. VW AGREED TO PAY APPROX. 60% OF THE $900 BILL. NOW AT 102K MILES THE SECOND NOX SENSOR HAS FAILED. I'VE COMPLAINED TO VW CUSTOMER SERVICE (CASE#170369084) THAT THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN EVERY 50K MILES. VW WILL NOT COVER ANY OF THE COST TO REPAIR THIS FAULTY PART CITING THE VEHICLE IS BEYOND WARRANTEE. THEY COVERED A LARGE PORTION OF THE COST BEFORE AS A RECOGNITION THAT SOMETHING WITH THE PART IS NOT CORRECT. NOW THEY WON'T COVER ANY OF THE COST AFTER IT HAS FAILED A SECOND TIME. ON VW BLOG SITES THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM ON VW DIESELS, BUT APPARENTLY NOT AT A HIGH ENOUGH FREQUENCY FOR VW TO RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM AND VW CUSTOMER SERVICE SUGGESTED I FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE?

HAVE HAD ROUGHLY 7 OCCURRENCES IN THE PAST YEAR WHERE AT LOW SPEEDS IN THE CITY THE CAR WILL TURN OFF. CAR WILL NORMALLY START BACK UP ONCE IT IS PLACED IN PARK. I HAVE GONE TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND HAD A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK WITH NO TROUBLE CODES FOUND. CONTACTED VOLKSWAGEN HELP LINE LAST NIGHT AND THEY RECOMMENDED GETTING THE CAR SCANNED AGAIN FOR MORE ANALYSIS. EACH VISIT IS COSTING AROUND $99, SO RETURN TRIPS TO FIND THE ISSUE ARE NOT MONETARILY FEASIBLE.

THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT IT WAS THE EXACT FAILURE THEY HAD BEEN REPAIRING FOR THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V125000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I HAVE 51,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND THE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT WENT OUT. THE CAR IS TOO YOUNG TO HAVE THE A/C REPLACED AT THIS JUNCTURE...FAULTY PARTS. THE A/C UNIT IS LISTED IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, ALONG THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM AND THE BEARINGS. THE A/C PROBLEM WAS MENTIONED TO THE VW MCDANIELS SERVICE ADVISOR TWICE WHEN I WAS IN ON A SERVICE CALL, BUT SAID WAS NOT RECORDED ON MY PORTAL OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SEAT HAS SPLIT AND ON THE SIDE IT IS WARNED. THIS IS NOT GOOD.
CONCERNING ISSUE DESCRIPTION FROM VW: "IN EXTREME OUTSIDE COLD TEMPERATURES THE FRONT DOOR LATCHES MAY FREEZE (DUE TO MOISTURE), PREVENTING DOOR LATCH FROM OPERATING." MY CAR WAS PARKED OUTSIDE OF MY APARTMENT IN COLUMBUS, INDIANA. THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE WAS 28 F. FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH CAN'T BE OPENED FROM OUTSIDE NOR INSIDE. I HAVE UNLOCKED THE DOOR USING REMOTE AND ALL OTHER THREE DOORS CAN BE OPENED. I'M CONCERNED IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS, I'LL BE TRAPPED INSIDE BECAUSE I CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE.
TAKATA RECALL DEALERSHIP WILL NOT PROVIDE LOANER. I AM TRYING TO BUY A NEW CAR, AND DEALERSHIPS ARE DEVALUING THE PRICE OF MY CAR SINCE THE RECALL HAS NO FIX.
TAKATA RECALL: NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SO FAR, BUT I WAS ALMOST IN A WRECK THIS MORNING AND I'M SCARED. WHAT IF MY AIRBAG DEPLOYS AND SERIOUSLY INJURES ME OR A LOVED ONE? I THINK A FAR SOLUTION WOULD BE TO ALLOW CONSUMERS TO TRADE IN DEFECTIVE VEHICLES WITH ONES THAT DO NOT HAVE THIS AIRBAG AT THE MANUFACTURER'S, I.E., TAKATA'S EXPENSE. THEY KNEW THESE AIRBAGS WHERE DEFECTIVE AND IT TOOK DEATHS AND SERIOUS INJURIES FOR THEM TO DO THE RECALL. NOW, EVERYDAY, I'M TERRIFIED OF BEING EVEN IN A FENDER BENDER. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AND SOON! WE HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW.

STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING: THE STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING BECAME CONTAMINATED AND THE DRIVERS FRONT AIRBAG IS LOST. IN A CRASH THE FRONT AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY.
2013 VW PASSAT 89000 MILES FUEL PUMP BROKE SENDING METAL THROUGH SYSTEM $6500.00 TO FIX. I SEE THIS HAPPENS A LOT ON INTERNET. THIS IS COVERED FOR VEH UP TO 2012. IF THIS IS STILL HAPPENING WHY DON'T THEY COVER 2013 OR CHANGE FUEL PUMPS. BEING A 100% DISABLED VET. I DON'T HAVE THE $6500.00 TO FIX IT. SURELY YOU HAVE HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. AN ENTIRE YEAR HAS ALMOST PASSED SINCE BEING NOTIFIED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG IN MY VEHICLE IS AFFECTED BY THE TAKATA RECALL, YET I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION ON THE MANUFACTURER REMEDYING THE SITUATION. ALL THE DEALER HAS TO DO IS REPLACE THE AIRBAG, THAT IS THE REMEDY! WHY AM I WAITING AN ENTIRE YEAR FOR THE DEALER TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE DRIVER AIRBAG THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO KILL ME IF I GET INTO A MINOR ACCIDENT?! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND I DEMAND A REMEDY FREE OF CHARGE SOONEST.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED (PART#5K1-837-015-E). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,368.
THE HEATER WILL NOT KEEP FRONT WINDOW DEFROSTED AND CLEAR. ON COLD DAYS MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE AND DRIVE CAR SAVE. DRIVING ON VERY COLD DAYS IS DANGEROUS AS WINDOWS WILL NOT STAY DEFROSTED. HAVE HAD NEAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF REDUCED VISIBILITY.

THE FRONT DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND THE FRAGMENTS FROM THE AIR BAG STRUCK THE CONTACT'S FACE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR CUTS AND BRUISES, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN A TAKATA AIR BAG. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW AND HAD THE HEATING SYSTEM SERVICED AT THE VW DEALER. THE HEATER CORE HAS FAIL TWO TIMES, BOTH TIMES I HAD IT REPLACED AT A VW DEALER. THE FIRST TIME WAS ON 12/21/2016, I CONTACTED VW AND THEY WOULD NOT COVER ANY OF THE EMPLACEMENT COST. THE SECOND TIME WAS ON 01/24/2018, THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE SAID VW WOULD COVER HALF OF THE COST OF THE REPAIR. I PAID FOR MY HAVE AND THEN CONTACTED VW TO SEE IF THEY COVER THE WHOLE COST. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT. THANK YOU. THAT IS TWO HEATER CORE REPLACEMENTS IN A 13 MONTH PERIOD. TAKATA RECALL THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY FOR THE AIRBAG IT HAS BEEN ALMOST ONE YEAR AND I AM DRIVING AROUND WITH A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE.
CLOCK SPRING RECALL. WAS FIXED IN 2016 BUT IS AGAIN BROKEN AND VW REFUSES TO REIMBURSE THE DEALER OR COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR. DUE TO THIS RECALLED PART NOT BEING REPAIRED PROPERLY, MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, I DO NOT HAVE A HORN, CRUISE CONTROL, NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO USE MY STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS. THIS, I FEEL IS ALSO RELEVANT TO THE AIRBAG RECALL. I CANNOT SELL MY CAR WITH THIS ISSUE, NOR DO I HAVE THE $ TO FIX IT. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT, AS IT ALREADY HAS AN AIRBAG NOT WORKING, THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND NO HORN. I HAVE CONTACTED BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND VW AND THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE COST OF THIS RECALLED PART.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A CLICKING NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING COVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWICE, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DOOR LATCH FREEZES IN COLD WEATHER DUE TO MOISTURE INSIDE THE DOOR AND PREVENTS OPENING OF DOORS. I COULD NOT EXIT MY VEHICLE USING THE DRIVERS DOOR AND HAD TO ENTER AND EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE. I TOOK THE CAR TO VW DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED AND VERIFIED MY CONCERN. TECHNICIAN NOTED THAT THERE WAS MOISTURE INSIDE THE DOOR AND THE DOOR LOCKS WERE FROZEN AND NOT OPERATIONAL. VW INSTALLED NEW DOOR LATCH, CABLES AND BUTYL TAPE TO PREVENT MOISTURE ENTERING THE LATCH MECHANISM. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH 2013 PASSAT AND HE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM MULTIPLE TIMES AND MENTIONED THIS TO HIS SERVICE ADVISOR, HOWEVER THEY WERE UNABLE TO VERIFY HIS CONCERN BECAUSE LOCKS WERE OPERATIONAL EACH TIME HE CAME BACK TO THE SERVICE CENTER. I KEEP RECEIVING RECALL NOTICES FOR [XXX]. VOLKSWAGEN TOOK POSSESSION OF THIS CAR ON 11/29/2016 UNDER THE DIESEL EMISSIONS RECALL. VW BLAMES NHTSA FOR CONTINUED NOTICES ON A CAR THEY OWN.. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
HEAT DOES NOT BLOW OUT ANY OF THE PASSENGER SIDE VENTS, INCLUDING THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER, EVEN AFTER THE ENGINE IS UP TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. THE RESULT IS THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD DOES NOT DEFROST, OBSCURING VISIBILITY. MY RESEARCH TELLS ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS A PLUGGED HEATER CORE. THE HEATER CORE IS ONLY COVERED UP TO 36,000 MILES BUT MY CAR HAS 74,000 MILES ON IT. VW WILL NOT COVER THE COST TO REPLACE THE HEATER CORE.
TAKATA RECALL: MY DEALERSHIP, VOLKSWAGEN BRIDGEWATER NJ, HAS NOT HAD THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE RECALL NOR HAVE THEY REMEDIED IT EITHER. I HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES EXPRESSING MY CONCERN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE NOT MADE THE SITUATION RIGHT. I AM UNSURE HOW TO PROCEED.

NOTHING HAPPENED YET, MY CONCERN IS THAT WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG FOR THESE PARTS TO COME IN, WHAT HAPPENS IF ME OR MY SON GET IN ACCIDENT, I DONT THINK THIS MATTER IS BEEN TAKING SERIOUS, AND I THINK IT SHOULD. SO TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD DO, I DONT WANT A CAR IF CAN KILL ME OR MY SON. AND I HAVE SEEN WHERE SOME PEOPLE HAVE DIED FROM THESE AIRBAGS. I DONT WANT TO ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.
THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP (HPFP) FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION (<10 MPH) ON A COUNTY ROAD, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STOP, AND DISABLING THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER BEING TOWED, AN INSPECTION BY THE VW DEALER REVEALED THAT THE HPFP FAILURE SENT MENTAL PIECES THROUGHOUT THE FUEL SYSTEM, INCLUDING THROUGH THE FUEL FILTER, ULTIMATELY CLOGGING THE FUEL INJECTORS AND RENDERING THE CAR INOPERABLE. THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. THE DEALER NOTED THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF GASOLINE CONTAMINATION IN THE FUEL TANK. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED WITH ~1/4 TANK OF DIESEL FUEL AND NO OTHER INDICATION OF WHY THE PUMP FAILED. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND HAS RESULTED IN A +$5,000 OWNER OUT-OF-POCKET COST TO GET THE VEHICLE OPERATIONAL AGAIN. VW HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE HPFP FOR THE SAME VEHICLE MAKE/MODE FOR 2012 MODEL YEAR BUT THIS VEHICLE IS A 2013 AND THUS NOT COVERED. THIS OCCURRED ON A 2013 VW PASSAT TDI WITH ~100,800 MILES.
MECHATRONICS UNIT FAILURE- I WAS ON HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 74 MILES PER HOUR AND CAR JUST SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MILE PER HOUR WITH NO ....I WAS IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THE NYS STATE THRUWAY AND WAS ALSO SLAMMED IN THE REAR END BY CARS/TRUCKS TRAVELING BEHIND ME. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUED WITH VW AND OLDER MODELS OF MY CAR HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I COASTED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND WAS TOWED FROM THE EXIT TO HEART VW IN KINGSTON NY. MY CAR IN BEING REPAIRED NOW AND I AM TOLD IT WILL BE $2000+ TO FIX ... I HAVE ESTIMATE AND REPORT FROM WHEN CAR TOWED IN.

TAKATA RECALL - I BOUGHT A CERTIFIED PREOWNED VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT 2013. DEALER OR MANUFACTURER SHOULD PROVIDE THE TAKATA AIRBAG FIX ASAP. IF THEY DONT HAVE ETA, THEY SHOULD PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT CAR, WHICH IS SAFE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHT WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN PROMPTED. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HARNESS CONNECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

I JUST HAD THE DEALER REFILL ADBLUE AND SOON AFTER I GET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INDICATING A FAULTY SENSOR IN THE AD BLUE TANK . THIS VEHICLE IS PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE EMISSIONS ISSUE.
TAKATA INFLATORS DESPITE THE FACT THAT I RECEIVED A NOTICE REGARDING THIS RECALL MONTHS AGO, THERE IS STILL NO AVAILABLE RESOLUTION. I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE, VULNERABLE AND UNSAFE EVERY TIME I GET IN MY CAR. I DO NOT ALLOW PASSENGERS IN MY CAR DUE TO THIS ISSUE. ASIDE FROM THE UNEASINESS I CONTINUALLY FEEL, THIS HAS CREATED MUCH INCONVENIENCE.
DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY AT 70MPH, WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND TURNED OFF. THE CAR STOPPED FUNCTIONING. IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. HAD TO SUDDENLY PULLED OVER ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY. WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP, I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WITH NO SUCCESS. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS A FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP (HPFP). WAS TOLD THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. APPROXIMATE COST TO REPAIR: $5826.09. I KNOW THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE HPFP FOR THE 2012 PASSAT. WHAT ABOUT THE 2013?
