FOR ABOUT A WEEK OUR 2002 VOLVO S60 HAS HAD A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR INSIDE AND HAS BEEN HARD TO START. THE GASOLINE SMELL IS ALWAYS THERE, AND STARTING THE CAR IS A PROBLEM EVERY TIME. WE LIVE IN TEXAS, WHERE IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY HOT, AND A LITTLE RESEARCH SEEMED TO POINT TO A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP. WE WILL BE TAKING THE CAR INTO THE VOLVO DEALERSHIP SOON TO BE REPAIRED. WE BELIEVE THIS REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER EITHER THE RECALL OR WARRANTY, BUT WE ARE OFFICIALLY FILING A COMPLAINT TO COVER OUR BASES. *TR
2002 VOLVO S60 - TRANSMISSION CLUNKS WHEN ENGAGING GEAR IN DRIVE. PROBLEM IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE. HESITATION TO ENGAGEMENT CAN BE UP TO 2 SECONDS, THEN ENGAGES VERY HARSHLY PRODUCING THE "CLUNKING". WAS TOLD A SOFTWARE FLASH MAY CORRECT ISSUE BUT I AM RELUCTANT TO SPEND $80 TO DISCOVER IT DID NOT WORK. VEHICLE STARTED DEMONSTRATING PROBLEM AT 80K MILES WHEN MANUALLY DOWNSHIFTING TO FIRST GEAR TO COME TO A STOP. NOW HAS 114K MILES AND DRIVEN VERY CAREFULLY WITH FOOT HARD ON BRAKE WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. I NO LONGER PERFORM ANY SORT OF MANUAL SHIFTING WHEN IN FORWARD MOTION. *TR
EXTENDED RECALL 07V152000 DESCRIPTION FOR FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT - FIRE HAZARD. ASIDE FROM FUEL ODOR, IT SHOULD INCLUDE SETTING OF DASH MIL INDICATOR OF ODB11 SMALL EMISSIONS LEAK AS A PRECURSOR INDICATION OF FUEL LEAK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 VOLVO S60. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE MORE THAN 15 TO 20 MILES PER HOUR. THE FAILURE OCCURS OFTEN WHILE BEING DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. ANOTHER MECHANIC STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V441000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL) WAS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT HIS VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF BEING INSPECTED BY THE SECOND MECHANIC. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A SERVICE CENTER. I HAVE A 2002 VOLVO S60 THAT IS RECALLING CARS WITH LEAKING FUEL PUMPS. WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND IT'S BEEN LEAKING GAS SLOWLY AND NOW GAS IS COMING OUT OF OUR CAR A LOT. I CALLED VOLVO AND THEY AREN'T ABLE TO REPAIR THE CAR BECAUSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED FOR MY VIN IN JULY 2002. I DO THINK THAT OUR CAR SHOULD QUALIFY TO BE REPAIRED. *TR
THE FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT RETRACTED AND WOULD NOT MOVE TO ENGAGE THE PASSENGER. IT WAS STUCK IN PLACE. THE DEALER EXAMINED IT AND SAID IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO FIX BECAUSE IT IS A 'CLOSED SYSTEM' AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY WOULD CHARGE OVER $650 TO REPLACE IT FOR PARTS AND LABOR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE PA TURNPIKE, MY GLASS SUNROOF INEXPLICABLY JETTISONED OUT OF THE CAR. THE GLASS WAS INTACT AND SHATTERED ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. FORTUNATELY, I WAS DRIVING IN THE SLOW LANE AND THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME. THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE WAS AVOIDED, ALTHOUGH IT IS CLEAR THAT A DEFECT CAUSED THIS OCCURRENCE. THE MANUFACTURER (VOLVO) IS UNWILLING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH I HAVE CONTACTED THEIR NORTH AMERICAN OFFICE SEVERAL TIMES. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY PROBLEM. *TR
I OWN A 2002 VOLVO S60 ABOUT 4-5 MONTHS AGO I NOTICED MY CAR SMELT LIKE GAS. I THOUGHT THIS WAS ODD SINCE IT WAS WINTER. I TOOK IT INTO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS LEAKING GAS. HE THEN ADVISED ME ABOUT THE RECALL FOR 2002 S60S. I LOOKED ONLINE ABOUT THE RECALL AND SURE ENOUGH MY MAKE AND MODEL HAD A RECALL, SO I CALLED VOLVO, AND THEY QUICKLY DISMISSED MY CLAIM. THEY SAID THAT MY VIN DID NOT MATCH THE RECALL. I EXPLAINED IN THE ONLINE STATEMENT THAT THE RECALL WERE FOR CARS IN HOT AND DRY AREAS SUCH AS AZ AND NV. I LIVE IN UTAH, AND I AM CERTAIN THIS VEHICLE HAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE VOLVO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKES. HOW CAN I GO ABOUT HAVING MY VEHICLE RESTORED? *TR
I OWN A VOLVO S60 AND AM HAVING PROBLEMS (RACING IDLE, UNCONTROLLABLE CRUISE CONTROL, AND COMPLETE DYING OF ENGINE RANDOMLY) WHICH ARE RELATED TO EVENTUAL FAILURE OF THE ETM WHICH COULD BE A CATASTROPHIC EVENT, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. VOLVO HAS ISSUED A LIMITED RECALL BUT IN ORDER TO BE GRANTED THIS FIX ONE'S VEHICLE MUST FAIL A CERTAIN TEST. IF THERE IS NO FAILURE, NO FIX.(THE TEST IS NOT A COMPREHENSIVE METER OF FAILURE) A SOFTWARE UPGRADE IS OFFERED WHICH IS ESSENTIALLY AN OVERRIDE , IN WHICH THE SYSTEM IS SET TO IGNORE SYMPTOMS, SO THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT EMPLOY. THIS IS NOT A FIX.. THE PROBLEM EXISTING IS THAT MY CAR EXHIBITS ALL THE PRELIMINARY PROBLEMS OF THE EVENTUAL FAILURE OF THE ETM WHICH WILL RESULT IN A LIMP HOME MODE ,WHEREAS THE CAR WILL ONLY GO APPROX 15MPH, AND IS IMMEDIATE, MEANING THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS ONE HOPES THEY ARE NOT ON THE FREEWAY .... WELL, ONE CAN USE ONES IMAGINATION. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING. STILL VOLVO WISHES TO WAIT UNTIL THE COMPLETE FAILURE OBVIOUSLY, AND I DO NOT WISH TO GAMBLE WITH MY LIFE IN THIS WAY. THE SYMPTOMS AT THIS TIME ARE RANDOM, INDICATIVE OF COMPLETE FAILURE IN THE FUTURE. VOLVO HESITATES TO TAKE COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS PROBLEM; BUT ARE AWARE OF THE DEFECTIVE ENGINEERING RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. EVEN THEIR FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM IS TO REPLACE WITH THE SAME ETM (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE MODULE) WHICH AGAIN, IS ONLY BUYING TIME UNTIL IT FAILS ALSO. BUT JUST TRY TO GET YOUR MODULE REPLACED ; NOT AN EASY THING TO DO, UNLESS U WANT TO PAY FOR IT OUTRIGHT, AND THAT IS WRONG CONSIDERING THIS IS A VOLVO PROBLEM, AGAIN, THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF. I HAVE A VOLVO S60 2002 AND IN OCTOBER IN A CHEKPOINT THE BORDER PATROL AGENT NOTICED AN ODOR OF FUEL AND A LEAK HE WAS SOME WHAT ALARMED AND SO I WAS INSPECTED AND SO ON I STARTED TO RESEARCH FOR THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT MY CAR HAD A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP NHTSA CAMPAIGN 07V152000 THAT MATCHED ALL THE SY MPTOMS AND SO I CALL TO VOLVO AND THEY SAID THAT I DON'T HAVE A RECALL BUT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE FUEL PUMP, AND SO I WENT TO THE DEALER LEFT THE CAR PICKED IT UP AND NOW MY CAR NOT ONLY LEAKS FUEL ON THE OUTSIDE BUT INSIDE I HAVE A STRONG FUEL FUMES SMELL AS WELL AND SO I CONTACTED VOLVO AGAIN NOW VIA EMAIL AND WHAT THEY SAID IS THAT THEY ARE NO EXACTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WAY THEIR FRANCHISES WORK LIKE THE HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN, THE PROBLEM FOR ME IS THAT THE NEXT AVAILABLE VOLVO DEALER IS 4 HORS AWAY, SO WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO! THE COST OF REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP IS LIKE $700.00...................! I DO HAVE LIKE A HEADACHE LIKE EVERY DAY BECAUSE THE FUMES.....! *TR
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 VOLVO S60. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 09V483000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP) AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND THE O RING. THE DEALER HAS MADE TWO ATTEMPTS TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS CONTINUING TO LEAK FUEL. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED THE REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 82,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 60,000. BW
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 VOLVO S60. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURES WERE RELATED TO RECALL#07V152000, FUEL SYSTEM; HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS EXCLUDED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 102,000.
GAS SMELL ON 02 VOLVO S60 LIKE LISTED ON NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 07V152000 AND VOLVO HAS CAMPAIGN NUMBER R176. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO ALL STATES AS WE ALL HAVE HIGH TEMPERATURES. *TR
VOLVO S60 DRIVEN ON FREEWAY AT 65 MPH FOR 30 MINUTES, LARGE BANG, THEN COMPLETE BLOWOUT - ALL THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE MICHELIN TIRE IN THE BACK RIGHT SIDE. TIRES HAD BEEN INSPECTED VISUALLY AUG. 17 BY OWNER, MAY 6 BY VOLVO DEALER AND WERE IN GOOD SHAPE. IN MAY, 2008, THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE, SAME MICHELIN BRAND, HAD BEEN DESTROYED BY PERFORATIONS OF THE TIRE EVEN THOUGH NO IMPACT OCCURRED. THE MAY EVENT ALSO HAPPENED DRIVING ON A FREEWAY AT 65 MPH. *TR
I HAVE A 2002 S60 VOLVO. IT IS HARD TO START WHEN COLD AND THERE IS A SLIGHT GAS ODOR. NHTSA CAMPAIGN # IS 07V15200 AND VOLVO CAMPAIGN IS R176. I UNDERSTAND IT IS A FAULTY FUEL PUMP AND VOLVO REFUSES TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE I DO NOT LIVE IN NEVADA OR ARIZONA. I LIVE IN FLORIDA ABD IT IS HOT HERE ALSO. *TR
THROUGH NORMAL USE, IN THE COURSE OF THE LAST TWO YEARS BOTH OF THE FRONT INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLIES HAVE BROKEN. MANUFACTURER'S SUGGESTED FIX IS TO REPLACE ENTIRE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL ASSEMBLY, AS LINKAGE FOR DOOR IS BUILT INTO DOOR PANEL, AN EXORBITANT COST AND EXTRAVAGANT FIX FOR SOMETHING SO SMALL. BROKEN INTERIOR DOOR LINKAGE MEANS OCCUPANTS MUST ROLL WINDOWS DOWN, AND ACCESS EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE THROUGH WINDOW IN ORDER TO OPEN CAR DOOR. THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY CONCERN IN EVENT OF A CRASH AND EMERGENCY EGRESS NEEDS TO BE MADE FROM THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 VOLVO S60. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE REDUCED IN SPEED GOING TO 35 MPH. THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A VOLVO DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS THE ETM AND WAS REPLACED IT AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE ETM FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 154000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I COASTED OFF TO THE SHOULDER AND THE ENGINE WOULD ONLY IDLE, AND EVEN THAT WAS ROUGH. THE MESSAGE INDICATOR ON THE DASH SAID SOMETHING LIKE "REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE". I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO GENGRAS VOLVO IN MERIDEN. THEY REPLACED THE ETM , SOFTWARE AND THROTTLE BODY AT THE COST OF $1195.43. ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO THE ETM MUST BE BAD AND REPLACED SAME AT NO COST TO ME. NOW ABOUT 10 DAYS AFTER THAT REPAIR, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME ON THE FREEWAY AGAIN. SINCE IT IS THE WEEKEND, I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY FOR THE DEALER TO GIVE ME THE DIAGNOSIS THIS TIME. SINCE THE SECOND FAILURE OF THE PART I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IN THE RIGHT MOST LANE OF THE HIGHWAY SO THAT WHEN THE CAR DIES AGAIN I CAN GET TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY. IT IS A GOOD THING I DO THIS AS THE ISSUE COMES ON SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING. *TR

THIS RECALL SHOULD BE FOR ALL STATES ESPECIALLY STATES LIKE NC AND FLORIDA THAT GET JUST AS HOT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR OTHER STATES ALSO. *TR
ON A CAR THAT IS DRIVEN 7,500 MILES PER YEAR, I JUST SPENT $1,068 TO REPLACE AN ALTERNATOR AND $157.18 FOR A NEW BATTERY BECAUSE VOLVO REFUSED TO HAVE A RECALL OR COVER THEIR KNOWN FAILING ALTERNATORS. THIS CAUSE MY CAR TO FAIL ON THE 101 FREEWAY AND LEFT ME STRANDED IN TRAFFIC ON MILBRAE AVENUE. *TR
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY BROKE. DEALER SAID THE ONLY FIX WAS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL ASSEMBLY, AS LINKAGE FOR DOOR IS BUILT INTO DOOR PANEL. DEALER ESTIMATE TO REPLACE PANEL $575. IT APPEARS LIKE VEHICLES HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD STEP UP TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH LITTLE FINANCIAL IMPACT TO THE OWNER(S). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 VOLVO S60. THE CONTACT NOTICED A VERY STRONG FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE FUEL PUMP. FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE, THE ODOR WAS VERY OVERPOWERING, BUT WAS ALSO NOTICEABLE FROM INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THERE WERE ALSO FUEL STAINS ON THE FUEL TANK THAT WERE NOTICEABLE. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST $850.50 PLUS TAX. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07E023000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:MASTER CYLINDER) AND VOLVO RECALL NUMBER R176 MENTION IDENTICAL FAILURES; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE CLIMATE STIPULATIONS OF THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 169,000.
THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NO. 07V152000. REF. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP. IN THIS CASE YOU INDICATE THAT THE PROBLEM INVOLVES VEHICLES REGISTERED IN ARIZONA AND NEVADA. I NOTICED A FUEL SMELL COMING FROM THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, WHICH STEADILY GOT WORSE. I BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC AND FOUND THE FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING. I PAID TO HAVE IT REPLACED. *TR
FUEL PUMP LEAKAGE AND SMELL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF VOLVO S60. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND VOLVO HAS ISSUED A RECALL IN THE STATES OF NEVADA AND ARIZONA FOR A DEFECTIVE PLASTIC PUMP HOUSING. R176 IS VOLVO'S RECALL NUMBER AND NHTSA'S NUMBER IS 07V152000. VOLVO REFUSED TO REPLACE MY FUEL PUMP AS I'M IN FLORIDA. THE LOCAL VOLVO DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE FUEL PUMP IN STOCK BECAUSE IT WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER SO THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN YET REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANYTHING WAS WRONG. I BELIEVE VOLVO IS BEING DISHONEST ABOUT FIXING THEIR SAFETY DEFECTS. *TR

MY VOLVO LEAKS GASOLINE FUMES. UPON SOME INVESTIGATION I FOUND THE NHTSA HAS A CAMPAIGN NUMBER 07V152000 AND VOLVO HAS CAMPAIGN NUMBER R176 ADDRESSING THIS EXACT PROBLEM. VOLVO WILL ONLY FIX THESE PROBLEMS AT DEALER COST IN ARIZONA AND NEVADA. HOW IS THIS? THIS MAKES NO SENSE. *TR

I AM APPEALING FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE REGARDING THE CAR'S INCLUSION IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN 06V-441000. IN PARTICULAR, I HAVE A 2002 VOLVO S60 2.4T W/37,500 MILES. WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT 2 MONTHS AGO, MY CAR'S ENGINE BEGAN SPUTTERED, AND WHEN I GOT ONTO A MAJOR ROADWAY, THE CAR SUDDENLY WENT INTO LIMP MODE, WHEREBY IT WENT 5 MPH MAXIMUM. *AK THE SUDDEN CHANGE IN SPEED ALMOST RESULTED IN MY CAR GETTING REAR-ENDED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, CHERRY HILL VOLVO IN NEW JERSEY, AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS PERTAINING TO THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE MODULE (ETM). THE DEALER SAID THAT THE ETM NEEDED TO BE CLEANED, AND THEY PROCEEDED TO CLEAN IT. A WEEK AGO, I FOUND OUT THAT NHTSA 06V-441 WAS ISSUED, WHICH ADDRESSES THIS EXACT PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD BY VOLVO THAT MY CAR, SINCE IT'S A TURBO, WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA LIST, BECAUSE THE ETM IS A DIFFERENT DESIGN. WHAT I'M SUGGESTING IS THAT THE ETM ON MY CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE OLD DESIGN ETM, AND THAT MY FAMILY COULD BE IN DANGER. FROM WHAT I'VE READ ON MESSAGE BOARDS, EVENTUALLY, I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE ETM AT A COST OF $1100. VOLVO HAS WARRANTIED THE ETM ON MODELS OTHER THAN MINE, FOR 200,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS. SEP 29,2006 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME AND THE CAR SHUT OFF AS SHE WAS MAKING A TURN. SHE ALSO NOTED THE SIGNAL LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS WERE ACTING ERRATICALLY. CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND DECELERATE ERRATICALLY WITH NO CHANGE IN ACCELERATOR POSITION WHILE ON A 250 MILE TRIP. AT ONE POINT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PASS A TRUCK THE CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND ACTED LIKE IT WOULD STALL THEN JUST AS SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. AN 8-INCH CRACK APPEARED IN MY VOLVO'S DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW WHILE WE WERE DINING INSIDE. THE NEXT MORNING THE HAIRLINE CRACK HAD CROSSED THE WINDOW, LEFT TO RIGHT. OUR AUTO INSURERS GOT SAFELITE TO REPLACE THE WINDOW. THE SAFELITE EXPERT LOOKED AT THE ORIGINAL FACTORY WINDOW AND DECLARED IT DEFECTIVE AS A PIECE OF IT WAS MISSING FROM ONE CORNER WHEN THE VOLVO FACTORY INSTALLED IT IN MY 2002 S60 T5 VEHICLE. *JB
WE PURCHASED A 2002 VOLVO S60 1/21/06 AT 1:30PM WITH 58542 MILES ON IT AND 62 MILES LATER AT 6:54PM WE WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NOT RESPONDING, THE ENGINE ACCELERATING WILDLY AND THEN NO CONTROL OVER THE ENGINE AS IT HAS GONE INTO A LIMP MODE. UPON GETTING HOME AND SHUTTING THE CAR OFF, THE PROBLEMS OCCURRED AGAIN AND THE COMPUTER DISPALYED NO CODES WHEN PLUGGED INTO DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN 1/22/06 AND WE CALLED THE USED CAR DEALER TO HAVE THEM PICK THE CAR UP AND THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THEIR GARAGE AND I WAS INFORMED 1/23/06 THAT THERE IS NOTHING IN THE COMPUTER AND THE CAR IS RUNNING FINE RIGHT NOW. I INFORMED THEM OF THE ETM WARRANTY WHICH SHOULD BE A RECALL AND THEY ARE GOING TO CONTACT LANGHORNE VOLVO TO SEE IF THE PARTS CAN BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. ON OCTOBER 19, SIX DRIVING DAYS LATER (I TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN A LOT FOR MY JOB), IT STALLED AGAIN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY. AFTERWARDS, THE DEALERSHIP PUT THE ORIGINAL TIRES AND RIMS BACK ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THE AFTERMARKET SPACER BAR HAS INTERFERED WITH THE INTEGRITY OF THE VEHICLE.
