I CONTACTED DEALERSHIP IN BREMMERTON WASHINGTON THEY STATED THAT MY VEHICAL VIN WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST PLEASE ADD THIS VIN TO THE RECALL LIST SO APPROPRIATE REPAIRS CAN BE MADE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COULD BE FATAL TO DRIVERS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V701000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE MILES AND GEAR SHIFT HAVE STOPPED SHOWING ON THE DASH BOARD. WHEN IN REVERSE WHEN I PUT THE CAR BACK INTO DRIVE THE HEADLIGHTS GO DIM UNTIL THE CAR PICKS UP SPEED. ALSO I HAVE BEEN HAVING A RECALL ON MY CAR SINCE OCTOBER AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CALL, LETTER, EMAIL ETC.
AFTER DRIVING ABOUT TEN MINUTES INTO MY TRIP LAST NIGHT AT ABOUT 60 MPH, MY BUICK REGAL 2000 ENDED UP LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IT THEN LOST ALL POWER AND LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE INTERSTATE. I LOST THE POWER STEERING, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED FLICKERING. THIS OCCURRED IN A WORK ZONE AT ABOUT MIDNIGHT. WITHIN FIVE MINUTES THE FLASHERS AND LIGHTS ALSO WENT TOTALLY DEAD. EVEN THE TRUNK WOULD NOT RESPOND TO MY REMOTE. THE CAR LIGHTS AND ENGINE HAD BEEN VERY STRONG AND NEVER GAVE ANY REASON FOR CONCERN. THE KEY HAS BEEN DIFFICULT TO REMOVE FROM THE IGNITION CYLINDER FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THIS HAS BEEN THE ONLY SOURCE OF TROUBLE WITH THE CAR. THE RED SECURITY LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS ILLUMINATED - WHICH IS UNUSUAL - UNTIL THE LIGHTS QUIT WORKING. COULD THIS HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE SECURITY SYSTEM? WE HAVE NOT ALTERED THE FACTORY SECURITY SYSTEM. IT IS ORIGINAL. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
KEY STICKS IN IGNITION. IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE CAUSED LOSS OF HVAC SYSTEM, CRUISE CONTROL AND REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER.
THE IGNITION GETS STUCK AND IT'S HARD TO GET IT OUT. TAKES ABOUT 20 MIN TO GET IT OUT SOMETIMES JUST LEAVE IT IN THE CAR. I LIVE IN PHOENIX AND IT'S HOT OUT HERE MY MOTHER IS YELLING AT ME SORRY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DEFECTIVE IGNITION SWITCH MALFUNCTION AND REQUESTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT COSTS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING, WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED. ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT LIGHTS WERE FLASHING. HIS WIFE MANAGED TO MAKE IT HOME. HIS WIFE STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE, SO THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE, AND A MONTH LATER, THE ENGINE DIED AT A STOP SIGN. A FEW MILES LATER, THE ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN, AS HE WAS TURNING OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE STEERING AND BRAKING REQUIRED CONSIDERABLE STRENGTH. AS HE DROVE FOUR MILES HOME, THE VEHICLE STOPPED TWO MORE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE A DIAGNOSIS REVEALED A DEFECTIVE IGNITION SWITCH. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, ALL THE LIGHTS AT THE DASHBOARD CAME ON. WENT TO THE NEAREST EXIT AND PARK IN A PARKING LOT. TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AGAIN BUT WOULD NOT. I HAD STOPPED AT STORE ON WAY HOME FROM WORK. WHEN I CAME OUT OF STORE I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF MY CAR. I POPPED THE HOOD AND SAW MY ENGINE ON FIRE AND PROCEEDED TO TRY AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. I TOOK MY JACKET OFF AND STARTED HITTING THE ENGINE AND THIS BURNED UP MY JACKET AND SCORCHED MY HAND. 9/12/09 DIES AND WILL NOT RESTART. 9/14/09 PARTS THAT NEEDED REPLACED ARE STARTER AND BATTERY. PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. CAR WILL ONLY TURN OVER (RUN) WHEN THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE ON (NOT IN THE AUTO MODE) AND IF TURNED OFF THE CAR DIES AND EVERY LIGHT ON DASH IS ELIMINATED AND FLASHING. THEN WHEN BLINKERS ARE USED WHILE DRIVING THE MOTOR DIES. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN (AFTER 9/14/09).
