2000 BUICK REGAL WITH 50,000 MILES. BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED IN 2007. ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF ALMOST 1600$ CANADIAN. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I FIND THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM ON BUICKS.. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED BY GM AT THERE EXPENSE. *TR
THE WINDOW REGULATORS ON MY 2000 BUICK REGAL HAVE FAILED. THE DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW AND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAVE BOTH BROKEN, WITH THE WINDOW FALLING INTO THE DOOR AND THE REGULATOR NOT WORKING. *TR
I AM VERY UPSET WITH MY 2000 BUICK LESABRE. TODAY, THE WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WENT DOWN AND WOULD NOT COME BACK UP. THIS IS THE 6TH, YES 6TH WINDOW THAT HAS BROKEN ON THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST 2 WERE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANT. THE LAST 3 WERE NOT, WE HAD TO PAY FOR THEM TO BE REPLACED. NOW, IT HAS OCCURRED AGAIN. MY HUSBAND WENT BY THE DEALER TODAY TO SEE HOW MUCH JUST THE PART WOULD COST TO SEE IF HE DID IT HIMSELF WE COULD SAVE MONEY. THEY WANT $384 FOR JUST THE PART, THE LABOR WASN'T INCLUDED. WE CALLED AUTOZONE AND NAPA TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY CHARGE, WHICH IS MUCH LESS. ANY WHERE BETWEEN $130 - $180. I CONTACTED BUICK DIRECTLY WHEN THIS FIRST START OCCURRING AND THEY WERE NOT SUPPORTIVE AT ALL. THE REALLY DON'T CARE. SINCE THE FIRST COUPLE WERE COVERED. THEY TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. EVEN SINCE THE 3RD WAS RIGHT AFTER MY 3YRS WAS UP. I HAVE DONE ALOT OF SEARCHING ON THE WEB AND FOUND A WEBSITE WITH OVER 100 PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. I AM SURE THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS, AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE JUST LIKE ME AND MANY OTHER WEBSITES. GM NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THIS DEFAULT "POWER WINDOW REGULATOR" AND RECALL THESE CARS FOR A PART THAT WORKS AS IT SHOULD. I HAVE INCLUDED THE WEBSITE WHERE A FOUND YOUR WEBSITE INFORMATION ALONG WITH MANY, MANY OTHER VERY UNHAPPY LESABRE OWNER. *TR

2000 BUICK LESABRE REAR WINDOW FAILURE AND WINDOW WILL NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION, WHICH IS THE LOCATION OF OUR CHILD'S CHILD SEAT AT THE REAR SEAT AREA. THIS IS INDEED A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF FAILURES RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM; AS INDICATED BY VARIOUS INTERNET SITES. *TR
REGULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THE POWER WINDOW 500 TO REPAIR AIR BAG LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF...1200 TO REPAIR. *JB
I HAVE OWNED A 2000 BUICK REGAL SINCE 2001. A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE DRIVER'S SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW STARTING OPERATING ERRATICALLY - SOMETIMES IT WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL; OTHER TIMES IT WOULD. MY MECHANIC LOOKED AT IT BUT IT WORKED FINE FOR HIM. LAST WEEK, IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND MADE A GRINDING NOISE, CAUSING DIFFICULTY IN EVERY DAY USAGE, SUCH AS PULLING UP TO MAILBOX TO GET MAIL. MY MECHANIC STATED THE PART ALONE WILL COST OVER $300 DOLLARS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS IS A ROUTINE PROBLEM IN BUICKS DUE TO POOR DESIGN - A PLASTIC PIECE (INVOLVING REGULATOR?) THAT FAILS TOO EASILY. PLEASE ASK BUICK / GM TO ISSUE A RECALL DUE TO THE ENORMOUS FREQUENCY OF THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU. *JB
ELECTRIC WINDOW MOTORS FAIL LEAVING OPEN WINDOWS IN VEHICLE DUE TO FAULTY GENERAL MOTORS DESIGN. UPON EXAMINATION I FOUND THAT THE STEEL CABLES THAT HOLD THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS IN MY 2000 BUICK REGAL ARE UNDER GREAT TENSION AND THEY SELF DESTRUCT DUE TO THE PLASTIC GUIDES FALLING APART. IF THE CABLE IS NOT IN TENSION THE MOTOR WILL NOT WORK AND THE WINDOW FALLS OPEN INTO THE CAR DOOR. NEW MOTOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY COSTS $400 FOR EACH WINDOW AND THE DEALERS WANT $400 LABOR TO REPLACE EACH WINDOW. I TIED THE CABLES WITH ROPE TO GET THE WINDOWS TO SHUT WITH THE MOTOR AND THEN FORCED THE WINDOW TO STAY SHUT WITH A WOOD BRACE IN THE DOOR. AFTER PAYING FOR A NEW VEHICLE AND A VEHICLE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM GM I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO KEEP PAYING $800 PER ELECTRIC WINDOW FOR THE REST OF MY VEHICLES LIFE. THE WINDOWS NOT SHUTTING IS A VEHICLE SAFELY PROBLEM. GM REPRESENTATIVES CLAIM THAT BECAUSE THEIR ELECTRIC WINDOWS FAIL OPEN THAT IT IS NOT A VEHICLE SAFETY PROBLEM. I KNOW OF MANY OTHER BUICK AND PONTIAC OWNERS THAT ARE ALSO HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH THESE WINDOWS AS THE VEHICLES AGE OUT OF WARRANTY. *NM
2000 BUICK LESABRE WITH POWER WINDOW PROBLEMS**NAR**CC THE LEFT WINDOW DROPPED AND WOULD NOT GO UP. THE WINDOW REGULATOR CABLE WAS TANGLED IN THE PLASTIC PULLEY. TWO MONTHS AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE, THE LEFT FRONT WINDOW STARTED MAKING A GRINDING NOISE WHILE TRYING TO CLOSE IT, AND IT BECAME STUCK IN AN OPEN POSITION. THE REGULATOR HAD TO BE REPLACE AGAIN. ONE MONTH LATER, THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW DROPPED AND THE REGULATOR WAS REPLACED NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MOST RECENTLY, THE RIGHT FRONT WINDOW WOULD NOT CLOSE. *JB
ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS ON MY 2000 LESABRE HAVE GONE OUT---FOR NO APPARENT REASON & NO WARNING. ADDING INSULT TO INJURY, I CANNOT BUY JUST THE BAD PART, BUT I HAVE TO BUY THE MOTOR, TOO! AT APPROXIMATELY $350.00 PER WINDOW.....WELL---IT'S VERY EMBARRASSING. REAR WINDOWS ARE NOW BEING KEPT IN "UP" POSITION WITH SUCTION CUPS & DOOR-STOPS! LOOKS BAD FOR BUICK--QUITE TACKY!YES, I STILL HAVE THE PARTS.....IN THE TRUNK! (ALONG WITH A DOOR PANEL). THE WINDOWS WERE SCRATCHED TRYING TO GET THEM INTO 'UP' POSITION. OTHERWISE THE CAR COULDN'T BE LOCKED & SECURED. *AK
ALL 4 POWER WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE FAILED AT DIFFERENT TIMES, LEAVING NO EMERGENCY EXIT-LET ALONE THE INCONVENIECE AT DRIVE-UP WINDOWS. I ALSO FEEL THAT IT IS A RIP-OFF THAT NOT ONLY DO YOU HAVE TO BUY BOTH REGULATOR WITH MOTOR (ALTHOUGH YOU CAN BUY THE MOTOR ALONE), YOU HAVE TO BUY THEM AT THE DEALER. *AK
MY MAJOR CONCERN IS WHEN I WENT TO REPLACE MY TIRES TODAY GOODYEAR LS EAGLES I WAS TOLD THE TIE RODS WERE WORN SO BADLY THAT THEY COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT REPLACING THEM TO ALIGN THE CAR PROPERLY. THERE HAD BEEN A NOISE IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR SINCE THE DAY ONE THAT I THOUGHT WAS NORMAL TIRE NOISE, BASED ON MY YEARS OF DRIVING (37 WITHOUT INCIDENT) IT SEEMS WORN TIE RODS AT 31,000 MILES IS SOMETHING TO CONSIDER INVESTIGATING. MY DRIVING IS LOCAL 90% OF THE TIME, 7 MILES EACH WAY TO WORK, 5 DAYS A WEEK. ONCE A MONTH A TRIP TO BOSTON. I TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPORT THE OTHER LITTLE INCIDENTAL PROBLEMS THAT DO NOT HAVE AN IMMEDIATE EFFECT ON MY SAFETY, THE EXCEPTION BEING THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE NOT REPORTED THESE MINOR PROBELMS TO THE DEALER. I HAVE REVIEWED THE RECALL NOTICES FOR MY BUICK REGAL AND BASED ON MY VIN NUMBER I AM HOPING NHTSA CAN LET ME KNOW IF ALL THE RECALL WORK HAS BEEN PERFORMED. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN JULY 2000 AND I AM ONLY AWARE OF TWO RECALLS THAT REQUIRED US TO REPLACE THE LABELS ON OUR VISORS AND RETURN TO THE DEALER FOR SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY. I HAVE NEVER BEEN CONTACTED FOR THE OTHER REPORTED RECALLS ALTHOUGH THEY OCCURRED IN MAY 00 AND JUNE 00 AND I DID NOT PURCHASE THE CAR UNTIL 7/29/00. IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME THE RECALLS IN MAY AND JUNE WERE PERFORMED ON MY CAR IF IT WAS ONE OF THE VEHICLES IN NEED? DT
REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD WAS THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF THE TOP OF THE DASH BOARD COVER, RESULTING IN VISION DISTORTED AND ALMOST RESULTING IN A ACCIDENT.
CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE MAJORITY OF THE TIME, THEY WORKED ONLY ON RANDOM BASIS. CONSUMER HAS TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER/MECHANIC AND HAS BEEN TOLD THAT IT COULD BE ONE OF NINE PARTS, BUT THEY COULD NOT SEE A REASON FOR ERRATIC OPERATION. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT ON ONE OCCASION WIPERS FAILED FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY SNOW. *SLC
ALL THE WINDOWS IN THIS VEHICLE HAVE FAILED DUE TO A FACTORY DEFECT. THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW FAILED TWICE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FAILED THREE TIMES. THE FAULT IS WITHIN THE MOTOR. *JG

THE DRIVERS SIDE REARVIEW MIRROR IS SMALLER THAN THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR, THIS DIFFERENCE DECREASES THE VIEWING AREA AND INCREASES THE BLIND SPOT MAKING LANE CHANGES DIFFICULT. NLM
